This is the website of Super Smash Quest (And its MANY campaigns), which were all Science-fiction-esque IRC pen-and-paper RPGs hosted in #supersmashrpg.
Contained on these pages are the data of the current game and its predecessors.
Updates
July 2nd, 2022
Added a couple new (old) pages: Original Metal Man (Season 2), Full SP Chart (with admission that it is missing values), and How to Perform Moves (With added Geno moves & note that 'Speed Up' didn't originally belong there (was a Dark Ages era move)).
Just a few updates while I was diving in the archives. The further time goes, the more this info may one day be lost forever, if I don't go in and poke at it carefully.

New Data: Chapter 279: Deceptive Computers (SSQ 1 Logs)
May 24th, 2022
20 years of SSQ. Just think of that. It was 20 years ago that Wolfman said, "The website is up; various bugs were fixed.", and a day before that at May 22:38:41 2002 CEST (or 4:38:41 PM EST, or 1:38:41 PM PST) that the IRC room was registered.
So, what does / can someone say? Well. It can be rather hard to contemplate. 20 years is an eternity in this sort of thing. The original site this was hosted on is long gone. The original community it was related to is long gone. The other places that were on the same IRC server are long gone. Everything is entirely different from what it used to be. It's almost alien, in this world, to continue with it; even the smartphone-app era that once threatened to push this to extinction is dead. Now it's newer stuff that is cross-platform that's everywhere, and the rise of centralized websites over everything else.
For a simple reference, when this started, Windows XP was the main OS; now, Windows 11 is becoming the next big thing. CRTs were still in wide use then; now they are oddities you see on retro Youtube channels, and LCD successors are the way to see things. Internet Explorer ruled the internet; now Google Chrome does. Search engines were the main central place to do things; now social media of various kinds is in control. Computers had a few hundred megahertz of processing power and a gigabyte or four of disk space; now they have multiple gigahertz with multiple cores and terabytes of disk space.
VHS was still in power, with DVD slowly coming into awareness (in the US media market, others had already seen things like LaserDisc). Now of course using any physical media at all instead of streaming is outdated. The iPod was all the rage then; now it's entirely discontinued. The Gameboy Advance was brand new; now of course, people would laugh if you said "It has no backlight and can barely outdo a SNES." We have the Switch now, after all.
I make no mistake in saying that in some ways, some things of the past are probably long gone and it'll never be the same. But on the other hand, having made it this far, I / we endeavor to be like the Voyager Probe, voyaging ever further beyond what most places like this ever could imagine. I'll make another retrospective based around how much time has passed... probably one written with the benefit of time-distance enhanced objectivity. After all, unlike old ones, I don't really have to worry "Oh I said this thing, now
So, 20 years down. Time for another 20! ...Okay, maybe I'll be writing on a different RPG website's front page by then, but, you get the drift.

New Data: Chapter 277: An Official APN Introduction (SSQ 1 Logs)
April 10th, 2022
Phew, I did it, and put up the new REVOLUTION Wave 1 Commentary. Let's just say it's much harder to do with something full of meaning than some of the ancient SSQ stuff where the plot was a spaghettified mess. Anyways, with that done, I'll tweak the REVOLUTION site theme a bit, then make Gaiden the default... even though there's still Crystallix to add, and then I have to update the Ultimate Timeline again... work never ceases for this site, does it? I'll probably go back in time for the next set of logs, just to get something a little different in flavor... the long unseen Season 7, perhaps? Anyways, coming up next will probably also be a 20th anniversary retrospective... since that's a thing too.

A Happy New Year to all, and with that, I completed the First Wave of Revolution's Story Logs. And, next year, soon to be this year, will be the 20th anniversary of SSQ! Rejoice! (Or remember, as one does.)
