Metal Man (GM): Recap. The Questers made a portal to Alsa. Once on Alsa, they heard of the devastation. And the "Cool Guys", who were the remnants of the Echidnas, who had taken to terrorizing people in the name of Flaeyn and Kuji. Also the reanimated corpses of Sloan's soldiers were haunting Angel Island, and the Sons of Borne were busy lording it up over the ruins of Capital City. It was all pretty messy. The group blasted their way onto an abandoned Dauntless-Class GUN craft, where they now are currently, with it being nighttime. The hatch was suspiciously open, but it's now closed. The group is aboard it, but there's one unknown lifesign aboard, and the ship is still mostly offline, only the lights are on, thanks to Gelato. The sound of the skeletons banging on the steel doors and shooting hopelessly at it can be heard outside. Continuation The ship has two levels; currently everyone is inside the cockpit and upper engineering area of it. It's full of lots of fun panels with LEDs and monitors and controls, but those are all defunct due to what looks like combat damage. The emergency lighting is on here, making it rather dim. Xavier can hardly find room to stand in here, as would anyone over 6 feet tall.
Valron: "...Ugh. What a pain."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Man... don't tell me we broke in to a dysfunctional space jalopy."
Valron: "Well, isn't that normal for us at this rate."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "This thing has Garrick's bad engineering written all over it, plus GUN's sparse and boring controls. Who in their right mind would actually put all the buttons you use at the same time next to one another? And then use a touchscreen for maps? What madness is this???"
Metal Man (GM): He stares at the gel-cushioned armrests.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Bad, bad ergonomics! Who would ever want that?"
Nonna: "...I dunno, it seems pretty nice to me."
Gelato: *He bites into one, trying to suck out the filling.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well, I guess it works for someone... that's good, because I probably won't want to fly this thing."
Metal Man (GM): The filling tastes gooey and cool from how cold it's been out here. It's vaguely greenish. It tastes vaguely metallic.
Valron: "You also have to remember that Xavier's tastes are completely backwards from anything resembling 'modern' or 'practical'."
Metal Man (GM): Yes... ...I anticipated explaining what the gel inside the armrests tasted like when I began this session. j/k
Valron: "Anyways."
Nonna: "The lifesign is more important now than taste anyway."
Gelato: *GOO VAMPIRE. He slurps them both dry.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "My dex says the lifesign is inside me... it's also inside of Gelato... ...and it's inside the lights... ...and also the sun... ... ...this isn't a lifesign detector, it's a pokedex." *Slaps his dex shut.*
Metal Man (GM): Valron could tell the lifesign was in the lower decks, faint as it was.
Valron: "It's junk is what it is. Besides, the other lifesign is below us. We'd need to go a little further down if we want to see what it is."
Nonna: "Maybe someone or something left behind in cold sleep?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "You know, I might be tempted to upgrade this thing just a little bit... I mean... ...now that Garrick is gone, it's no longer a principled stand of mine to refuse to do so. He and his evil Dex V3 won't hurt me now."
Metal Man (GM): There's a sealed door that blocks the way downstairs. It appears to have required the power to be on to open, as the switches to open and close it are completely dark. And they were definitely fancy looking buttons, so while you can possibly short circuit them, it might not work so well afterwards.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "You know, I could really use a good... glowing... something right now..."
Valron: *He grumbles for a second, before turning on his visor's flashlight. That should help brighten things up a bit.*
Nonna: "Should we all go, or split up so that there's always someone in the cockpit?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "..." *Takes out his smash dex and illuminates his face with its dim little backlight lightbulb's light. It looks creepy.*
Valron: "It's really good I requested this thing has a lot of functions built into it."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well, normally splitting up is lethal, but you can leave me behind wherever you need me. We've tested it, even if I am hideously killed, I will come back within a couple months... ...We should get that checked out when we're done saving the universe. I might actually get tired of living eventually. ...At least I can get all the senior discounts, though."
Nonna: "Kay."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I guess you don't have any plans for the cockpit, so I'll stay there... ...and don't worry Gelato, it's impossible for me to die at the moment. I can be temporarily defeated though, and it's no less painful. So I'll be sure not to die inside the sealed cockpit where hopefully nothing evil lurks." *He takes out his golf club and lights it, causing the room to glow orange with its light.*
Valron: "The real point of concern is the lower decks, anyways."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Then again... whatever is out there is likely to have seen less s@#t than I've seen, so maybe I'd be the evil thing lurking in the cockpit..."
Gelato: *Can his nanites make light?*
Metal Man (GM): A dim light, enough to read by.
Gelato: *VWOOM. Gelato is now a novelty 80s lamp.*
Metal Man (GM): Bio-luminescence is easy to mimic, but proper flashlight would require you to download a program from something else nanite-y or nanite-formatted.
Valron: *And, as mentioned before, he did switch his visor's light on, so...*
Metal Man (GM): Valron has a nice beam of light from his visor. Also this room is probably now a good test of a game's rendering engine, if it were ever in a game's rendering engine.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "So... ...I'll stand guard here. You guys go downstairs. Oh, and if you need me to flip buttons or... touch these stupid touchscreens... go ahead and ask me to do so."
Valron: *He goes to bring his illuminating gaze towards the switches, seeing as that's what all the need for lighting was for.*
Nonna: "Everyone ready?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Also if you find anything nasty, I can fall down the stairs and then punch them on the way down."
Valron: "Ready as I'll ever be."
Metal Man (GM): The door is still locked and in the way. It is, in fact, quite an annoying obstacle. It even has a touchpad with numbers on it, although strangely the numpad is completely covered in a very thick coat of dust.
Nonna inspects the numpad. Are any particular numbers even slightly less dusty than the others?
Metal Man (GM): Nope. They're uniformly dusty, and the dust is so thick it coats it completely. Dustier than anything else in here, even... Next to it are just the buttons for open and close, which seem rather worn down from repeated presses. They are completely dark, even though they have colored LEDs inside them that are... not being powered.
Valron: *Welp. Let's... actually scan the thing, and see if there's anything about it that can be, well... messed with.* (go go gadget computer-connector)
Metal Man (GM): You connect to the computer. Like Gelato, you discover only thing you can turn on and off are the lights on the outside, without access that is.
Nonna brings forth her weapon, this time instead of taking light away it shined brightly and looked sort of like illuminated ice. She tapped the open button with the butt of the sword to test it.
Metal Man (GM): It's password protected, and more importantly, appears to not even be properly started up. Weird errors occur whenever you try to check anything else. The button clicks... nothing happens.
Valron: "...Hm. Well, this is bothersome. Let's see..." *He ponders to himself for a moment, before trying to see if he can get the damn thing booted up properly.*
Metal Man (GM): Seems based on the gigantic cluster of errors, it's not turned on, since basic checks indicate large portions of the thing's remote access are just... completely dead, not even pingable. A nice status screen you can find indicates only the emergency services are on, and those seem to be in 'questionable' condition, as marked by a bunch of !s next to everything. And any automated attempt to flip it on tends to fail, due to the commands just falling into space with nothing responding.
Valron: "...Well, that's great. Seems like the remote access has just kinda... gone straight to pot. That... certainly explains a few things"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Borne told me that normally, they remotely find and recover ships that crash. That would probably be why this one was never found."
Gelato: *He peers up at Valron, looking for orders.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Unfortunately I'd have to get Tails to open the Stargate to ask him more, and he's... not got the power to turn it on for anything more than us going home. Bah. Stupid Borne, refusing to come along due to principles. Nobody's even around to complain anymore... those Alsan Quester bums ran away screaming when both me and Illian noted any ones who were still interested in ruining planets wouldn't be allowed to do so... ...and the ones that were good... ...well, you know, we never DID figure out what happened to the good ones..."
Nonna: "Tries the close button next. Who knows, their functions may have been reversed or something."
Valron: "Hm... Do you think it may be possible to trick this thing into working by simulating the remote access in some way, or...?"
Metal Man (GM): *Somewhere, miles away, Aribar is casually going about his day, when he sneezes* The close button also clicks, they both seem dead.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I'm not exactly sure... it's a GUN machine. Generally when I'm in this situation I just pry it open. But we want to fly this thing, so that's not an option. Especially since you guys kinda like it not being broken, I assume."
Nonna: "Worth a shot..." *The weapon disappears and she looks back to Valron and the others, shaking her head.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I mean, I guess it might be okay to fly, but it would probably be dangerous. I wouldn't mind, but this thing looks rather... pressurized atmosphere-y, luxurious stuff you know? Not the giant leaking balloon thing the Wing Fortress does."
Valron: "Gelato would probably have the best shot at that whole trick, in any case, given his newly-acquired trick."
Metal Man (GM): While the numpad is covered in dust, it does have gaps around it that suggest a way inside the wall. Whatever good that would do. There's also a million little controls on the dim and broken control panels to your left and right.
Gelato: o.o *Cracks. Squeezy cracks...*
Metal Man (GM): Since it is an aircraft... surprising they didn't automate away the two flight engineer positions.
Valron: *In any case, while he's at it, he goes to check the dimmed control panels, checking to see if there's anything that'd even be vaguely functional.*
Nonna goes searching for any hidden compartments, barely visible keyholes and keys, things that may have been dropped on the ground and hidden from sight, things like that.
Gelato: *He tries to SCHLORP behind that keypad!*
Metal Man (GM): Gelato would get inside the keypad. Which would pop it open, revealing a bunch of wires. The fuse box for the entire place, plus the data connector that pad was attached to. The pad thunks, even more dust falling out of it. Seems like it was never used. Whereas the port behind it is worn from a lot of usage, and the fuses... well it looks like 3 of them burnt out. Though the status lights indicate this box isn't even getting power--they're all dead. The wires that are input run towards the broken consoles in the engineering part of the room. Gelato could probably follow the wires inside the wall, if he wished. Nonna on the other hand could see that the main hidden compartment/key/etc is in the engineering dashboards. Both of them have keyholes for 'ignition', but only one of them has the key in it. The other one is empty.
Nonna: "Anyone find any keys?"
Gelato: [I'm gonna go in here!] *He starts shimmying through, following the power wires!*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I'd take a look, but then I'd probably get stuck bent over forever."
Metal Man (GM): Gelato squeezes in, finding his way to the area around the ignition key, finding that the power flows around it and stops right at the keyhole.
Nonna: "Because... we have a missing key that we may need to get anything moving."
Metal Man (GM): The key is currently turned to the 'off' position.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Hm... someone should go look for it."
Nonna: *Types on device* "What did you find, Gelato?"
Valron: "Yes, Gelato?" *He blinks for a moment, before giving a nod to Xavier, going to look around the ship, trying to skim about for the key, starting from the spot around the ignition in case the other key's simply fallen out, before fanning out. *(Investigator is go)
Metal Man (GM): Valron would find it laying on the ground, like it fell down there.
Valron: "I see. Huh. Think you can turn it on from the- wait a second, I found the other key. One moment." *He goes to pick it up, before putting it back in. He then goes to turn both keys.*
Metal Man (GM): Click. Click. For a moment, nothing happens. Then the door stuff lights up. Gelato also gets energized by the electricity, refilling his SE.
Valron: "There we go!"
Metal Man (GM): The buttons are lit up too. Open is red. Close is green. They're translucent plastic buttons with twin-LEDs inside them. Some of the lights are still out, and the fusebox lights show off the 3 broken fuses. The fuses go to Engr2, LWNG, and TL.
Nonna: "Any change in the lifesign now that some life has been breathed into the ship?"
Valron: "Let me check..." *He taps at his visor for a moment, checking to see if the lifesign in the lower decks has gotten any stronger or if it's still as faint as before.*
Metal Man (GM): The lifesign seems to still be faint as usual.
Valron: "No changes."
Metal Man (GM): Also, turning things on has led to 2/3 of the room to be lit up normally. The side where the key was missing is still a bit dark. One of the monitors has a big smash in the middle of it too, and the lights there are flickering.
Valron: *He flicks off his visor's flashlight.* "Anyways... We need to get some new fuses for this, it seems. Think they have any spares up here, or do you think we'll need to open the door to the lower levels up first?"
Nonna: "Anything could be waiting for us out there, so let's be careful before we proceed."
Metal Man (GM): The fuses are special fuses... and there doesn't seem to be replacements laying around up here.
Gelato: *He crawls back out of the wall, glowing and jittering from all the electricity!*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I'm guessing you can try to open the door now, but I'm not 100% sure. It looks lit up and everything."
Nonna: "Okay, everybody ready?" *Next to the buttons again with her weapon.*
Valron: "I'm good to go."
Nonna taps the Open button.
Metal Man (GM): It clicks open, revealing a half-darkened hallway and a ladder down into a dim area with flickering lights. The life form/sign is down there, according to the scanners.
Valron: "...Ah. Well, then. Shall I go first?"
Gelato: *He charges in!*
Valron: "Or our little friend here can show initiative. That's also fine." *He shrugs, before flicking his flashlight back on and heading down.*
Metal Man (GM): Gelato: Going down the ladder too? Guess so. Down there is actually kinda... narrow and limited, and full of sparking monitors. And some person you can't really make out, laying there, groaning and not moving a lot.
Nonna: *Following behind carefully.*
Valron: *He carefully makes his way over to the downed figure, the light of his visor focusing on them, scanning them so as to get a better grasp of their condition.*
Nonna: *Bringing up the rear, watching around to make sure the person wasn't some kind of bait for an ambush.*
Metal Man (GM): Your visor scans him and detects a signal. The figure, who looks like he nearly bled out after being shot or smashed by something, looks a lot like Garrick. Though he has a straggly beard and looks like his hair's all out of whack, and he's clearly been wearing that uniform without washing it for a very... very long time...
Valron: "...Ah. Are you that clone from way back? Was wondering where you ended up..."
Metal Man (GM): He doesn't wake up even when you talk about him. His breathing is shallow and uneven.
Valron: "...Well, I s'pose not way back, but... given half of everything that's happened, it sure feels like it."
Metal Man (GM): He appears somewhat cold too. Occasionally a hand twitches, but that's about it.
Gelato: D: *He runs over, and tries to cast Cure on him!*
Valron: "Gelato. Think you can help warm him up a bit? ...Good, good."
Nonna: "Someone you know?"
Metal Man (GM): The cure effect hits him and he trembles more, a hand raising up as he coughs out some black blood.
???: "Ugh... ...I'm dead aren't I... I'm dead and... Borne reanimated my corpse..."
Valron: "Perhaps. There were quite a few Garrick clones running about, though there was one of note that I had run into back during the whole Illian/Xavier conflict."
???: "Probably... here to torture me for escaping..."
Valron: "Bit presumptuous, aren't you?"
???: "..." *Coughs violently* "Gray Mann... maybe he wasn't actually dead..."
Gelato: *He nuzzles his face.*
Valron: "Also, Gray Mann? I thought we sealed his place off."
???: "Bluh... what is this strange thing?" *He fumbles about in the dark.* "You... I had the factory... then... then I saw someone named Alexia... in a world that had been destroyed..."
Valron: "At least, that's how it was supposed to go. No idea what's up now, given the current state of Al... sa. ...Wait, you saw Alexia? Wow, that's a name I haven't heard in an age."
???: "Escaped... stole a ship... .shot down... woke up... other people I'd taken hostage... dead... She needed a cure... for somebody ill... only Borne's people had it, or, well... Professor Oak..."
Valron: "I... see. Sounds like quite the tale."
???: "You killed off all the... people that wanted me dead... ...except Garrick... we need to kill him... if he's around anywhere... he'll kill me... I stole his name... ...You... there... ...A GUN person???" *He points at Nonna.*
Valron: "She isn't."
Nonna: "Negative."
Garrok: "I am... Garrok... if you're embedded with them to assassinate me... ...I can't resist anyway... The mutations in me began to degrade. I had to flee my hiding place... I heard some sort of energy could rejuvenate people here..."
Valron: "Yeah, I figured it was you. It's just me. Valron, if your memory's still a bit hazy."
Garrok: "Imagine my surprise when I discovered it was only energy that made the dead walk..."
Valron: "Well. That's... certainly rough, for lack of a better understatement."
Garrok: "...Mf... that's right... if Garrick is alive, he won't be for long either... most likely wherever he wound up, his age... ...I was cloned to be exact, even the degradation, so he must be dying elsewhere... The... the factory is still there. The GUN... no, Gray Mann factory."
Valron: "Ah, so the undead are a result of a Gray Energy leak?"
Garrok: "...Not so... I control... ...well, the Gray Energy... this energy... it's Jack's... Alsan Energy... released after... something..."
Nonna: *Writing all of this down.*
Valron: "...It always loops back to Jack, doesn't it."
Metal Man (GM): He would take out his clone of Garrick's dex.
Valron: "I swear, even in death, he remains a colossal pest."
Garrok: "Jack is dead... but his energy... the golden statue energy... it's HERE... The energy Flaeyn released..."
Valron: "Well, yeah. That's what I meant. ...How are we even going to clean this up?"
Garrok: "Don't... know... ...you... you haven't seen Garrick... have you? He... went insane... we heard things about not killing..."
Valron: "For that matter, we should also probably figure out a good way to get you back- ...No. Can't say I have."
Garrok: "Good... then we won't be killed in our sleep..."
Metal Man (GM): Garrok would weakly look at his communicator, then to Gelato.
Garrok: "What... you brought Mad Man nanites here? You could... use them on me... but then they would be all gone... I wouldn't... ask you to do that senselessly... ...You... could turn on the ship though... ...Can't... think though... I don't..." *He holds his head and groans.*
Valron: "We should still have that healing thing of Xavier's, though I don't know how much that'll help you."
Garrok: "This is why Garrick went insane... his mind... disintegrated... What... healing thing again?"
Valron: "...Aahh. Well, I'm not sure how well it'll help mental degeneration, though."
Garrok: "Only certain things will help me... that's partially why I flew out here... so desperate. Mental... genetic... complete... Mad Man nanites... would repair my body... expending their use... ...I would continue to need more, though..." *He would grin sardonically.* "Did you know... Garrick actually saved Borne's life... Had I been... Borne's host body like he planned... Borne would have died from this degeneration..."
Valron: "Well, all things considered... Borne has been incredibly lucky. Eesh."
Garrok: "And nothing would have prevented it... as I said... the nanites would only make me live for so long... if you want to help me... take me to somewhere with proper facilities... But... where... has that anymore? There are few places... GUN ships are shot down on sight by the Corallians... Gray Energy and the factory is mine... but the energy is cursed... and best never touched... It may not do evil things... but it makes the world lose its flavor... which even I don't like... and I sometimes want to do what Garrick did and destroy all the superpowers..."
Valron: "Well, we were planning to head back to Tails' lab with this ship in tow, but. Hm. Not sure if he has the proper resources, though..."
Garrok: "The fox?" *He pauses.* "He is... resourceful, but not a medical doctor... I tried, but the robotic Medics couldn't heal me either... You need... a geneticist... or similar..."
Valron: "Well, this is certainly a fine mess."
Garrok: "Do you... can you... ...if you can freeze me... you can buy more time... ...wherever you go. Every moment I am in this state, my body slowly burns itself one cell at a time... Programmed... Infantes Terribles... self destruct code, made by the people who made Garrick... unauthorized clones like Garrick... all die... I am lucky... you... have found me. I have... three days without freezing left... you can do that, right? ...I don't mind even... if you don't... at least I am not... alone..."
Metal Man (GM): He lays there, staring at the ceiling.
Garrok: "You came back... we thought... you would never come back..."
Valron: "Grand. Do... either of you have a way of keeping him frozen, or...? We were going to come back at some point. That, and this place never does seem to stop getting itself into its' fair share of problems..."
Gelato: *He paces in a circle, trying to think...*
Nonna: "Maybe..."
Valron: "Maybe? What do you have in mind?"
Garrok: "If... you need... support..." *He flops a bit.* "I can still... Magitek..."
Nonna: "I can freeze things, but lack the control to do it safely to a... living person. I will need some help."
Garrok: "But where... would you get the coins..."
Valron: "I still have roughly 1900 coins left. Not much, but it could be of some use."
Garrok: "Economy has... gone to hell... but that would be enough... ...be thankful... Magitek adjusts for inflation..." *He goes to chuckle, but it hurts just to do that for him.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope.
Nonna: "This Magitek will assist in the freezing process?"
Metal Man (GM): And given the theme of this is sorta loose ends of Confrontation, I wouldn't expect you to have them otherwise.
Garrok: "If you provide the raw ice... the magitek can add extra control... It'll take all those coins though... unless you want to gamble with my life... ...don't want to end up with my head frozen stuck to the walls, that would be... bad..."
Valron: "Well, at least it'll be something..." *He pulls out a bag full of coins, before putting it next to Garrok.* "Here."
Gelato: *He moves to sit down, spreading himself over Garrok. If he can't fully heal him, at least he might be able to help him move and keep him a little more comfortable.*
Metal Man (GM): Gelato moves Garrok so he's no longer slumped over like a dead/drunken man. He is now a bit more like sitting on a hospital bed.
Garrok: "...That's what being able to breathe feels like..." *Gasps, coughs* "I was laying on my injured lung..."
Metal Man (GM): He gropes for the coins and grabs a fistful, drunkenly spilling a bunch on himself.
Garrok: "M-magitek... Gods above, Solarian power... whatever remains on this forsaken abandoned universe... createeee createee..." *He hesitates and the energy sort of spazzes out around him as he does it.* "CREATE... cre..." *he coughs some more.*
Nonna: *Her weapon once again resembles illuminated ice.*
Garrok: "Ah... that... figures... I used all my energy just staying alive..." *He slumps for a moment.* "I... ...you probably have some energy between all of you as well... Need that... to start the catalyst... ...Oh... ...and you'll need this... don't want this to... be frozen with me."
Metal Man (GM): He drops out his control card to the cockpit.
Valron: "Well, I'm sure we can all contribute, at least. That, and Gelato probably does have some excess energy to siphon off, at leas- Ah. Thanks." *He nods, taking the control card.*
Garrok: "Simple... pieces like that."
Metal Man (GM): It was stolen off of... Ederick???
Garrok: *Cough* "They left... it in an old office... idiots..."
Valron: "...Huh. Well, then."
Garrok: "F-focus with me... goo... being... and others..." *He trembles a bit and coughs, making a fist with coins.* "Magitek... come... back... one last time... give me... ...storage... chamber... protect self... control... freezing..." *The energy spazzes out again, as he looks to Gelato and Valron, and Nonna, holding it there, waiting for whatever assistance he can get.*
Gelato: *All of his SE.*
Valron: "Hm... Let me see..." *He nods, taking a deep breath, before letting all the Smash Energy flow out. *(-4 SE to Valron, +4 to Garrok)
Metal Man (GM): The energy powers up, and the form appears of a sort of hibernation capsule.
Garrok: "...there."
Metal Man (GM): He passes out, sealed inside it. It has a port to introduce the freezing ice with. The energy is more than enough to keep it powered independently. It looks much like the capsules that were made in that base so long ago to create the Garrick clone for Borne's replacement body.
Nonna gets ready to unleash the freezing in as controlled a manner as possible...
Metal Man (GM): Seems at least Garrok remembered those. The device is... well, magitek, so it telekinetically notes to Nonna, 'Ready for Freezing'
Valron: "...Wow, one of these things. Definitely brings me back to the early days of this whole mess."
Metal Man (GM): A bunch of glowing lights seem to appear between it and Nonna, energy indicating it is a controller of sorts of energy.
Nonna: *She carefully uses a specialized version of her Frierenfesseln attack to freeze Garrok safely.*
Metal Man (GM): The machine's magitek controls it precisely, and then stops once he's frozen. It notes rather simply, 'Patient is in stasis.' It also connects to the ship in order to keep itself powered more easily, so it doesn't have to use power reserves of its own. As you'd do that, you'd get a comms from Xavier.
Valron: "Whew. Well, can't say I wasn't expecting to run into him again, but... At least we've got 'im safe and sound."
Xavier Ridgecrest: *C* "Not to be too much of an alarmist, but the ship began beeping and a bunch of silhouettes that look like GUN ships are headed here. I think some person named Sergeant Jane was rambling on the radio about 'The Garrick Traitor That Must Die' or something, too."
Valron: *C* "...Oh, that's. That's pleasant. Let's get out then." *He then heads back up, card in hand. He goes to look around for a spot to insert it in and whatnot.*
Metal Man (GM): The cockpit next to Xavier has the controls and the place to put the key in.
Valron: "Yeah, we found him. Currently have him preserved in stasis. Also, that Sergeant Jane or whoever can step off. Don't have any time for this rubbish." *He promptly slots the key in and gets thing going.*
Nonna: *Following Valron.*
Metal Man (GM): You get it going. You'd notice the doors to the cave Tails is in are closed... also this ship is bigger than a Stargate, even then. Xavier puts a hand to his chin.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "So... we need some place to go... someplace that isn't here..."
Valron: "Right, right. Can't go to where the Corallians are. They'll shoot us down, given our mode of transport."
Jane: *C* "If that is you, Garrick, or Garrok, you should know that you can't escape. We detected that Stargate activation and have blocked your way to it. If you think you can evade us now, you're wrong!"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Also Sergeant Loudmouth apparently thinks we could somehow fly this thing into the Stargate or something stupid. You got any good ideas? I might have a stupid one."
Valron: "Want to try our luck with the Mushroom Republic, or...?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Yeah, that sounds much better than my dumb one. Go there or something. I was gonna say, maybe Illian's ship crashed somewhere around here and we could use it. Or maybe fly to Angel Island where The Void is. Or go to the moon and see if the Time Cop portal or Illian's are still there... but those are all so far away."
Valron: "Right, right." *Once he's sure he's got the damned ship going, he goes to, well... y'know. Make his way to the Mushroom Republic. Be it through punching in coordinates or just actually piloting the damn ship. Y'know, whichever.*
Nonna: "Just what's happened to GUN? This is disgraceful."
Valron: "Also, we can check all of those out later. When, y'know. We're not being harassed by idiots."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well... basically Borne left it after Illian tried his best to assassinate all the people in it. Sergeant Levis was the only other Borne person left and Garrick killed him or something."
Valron: "...I killed him, actually."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Oh... right... I don't think I was there."
Valron: "Threw a giant chainsaw through him."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I just read these buggy log things that try to put together what happened." *Slams his dex into the wall to make it display correctly.*
Valron: "Wild time, that."
Metal Man (GM): You're chased by some other ships, but most interestingly, they aren't Dauntlesses.
Nonna: "They'd rather chase after us than make this world livable again."
Jane: *C* "You will pay, Garrick! You killed our leader and left us to die in the X-Zone! And Garrok, if that's you, you will also pay! You abandoned us!"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Sometimes I'm glad they don't know we're on here. Who even knows what they'd think of us..."
Valron: "Agreed."
Metal Man (GM): Lasers shoot, but their ships seem to be slower.
Valron: "I was tempted to pipe up, but... not doing that. I'm just gonna take advantage of our agility and not let them get a chance to hurt us."
Metal Man (GM): The Dauntless occasionally loses altitude and malfunctions, but even damaged it's faster. It shakes a lot as you fly it. The GUN ship starts to slow down, as Jane seems more exasperated.
Valron: "Eesh... We need to get this thing fixed up sooner rather than later."
Jane: *C* "Talk to me! Why do you just run away every time? You... can't es..." *She sighs.* "Damn you!"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "It's still smoother than the Wing Fortress... ...oh right."
Nonna: *While she wasn't expressing it externally, deep down she was furious at the whole situation.*
Gelato: *He's sitting on top of Garrok's stasis pod...*
Metal Man (GM): Garrok's heartbeat seems to be slow but now regular that he's in stasis. Meanwhile the Mushroom Republic starts to show up. The GUN ship turns around, presumably because, as you can tell, it's not really meant for the flights this crazy intercontinental bomber-fighter is.
Valron: "Well, yeah, but that's like saying frozen yogurt is smoother than ice cream with peanut butter cup chunks in it. Kind of a no-brainer. Anyways."
Metal Man (GM): The Mushroom Republic starts to show up...
Valron: "I really hope they'll let us explain our situation, because I'm going to be annoyed otherwise."
Nonna looks it over, if she can. Does it look as trashed and wastelandy as the place they left?
Metal Man (GM): *Loading noises as I double check what happened to it last* Almost got it... (Have to grep logs, heheh) Ok, might be a bit off on this one, but given that they dropped off the face of the planet of the logs after a very powerful thing happened... ...here's what you see.
Valron: "It's been a while since I've last been here. Hopefully, they're still holding up well enough..."
Metal Man (GM): A giant force field protects the Mushroom Republic.
Valron: "...Ah! Right. I had that thing put up to make sure Borne wouldn't ruin anything."
Metal Man (GM): Due to the force field, no one has managed to attack them in quite a while. They appear to be about as peaceful as can be. Of course, there's... no way in there now... You soon get there, seeing the force field. Xavier stares at it.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "My god! They actually survived the apocalypse! It's a miracle!"
Valron: "I'm... kinda to blame for that, actually! Or well, thank, in this scenario."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "... ...So you didn't help Illian kill them all to death? ...Illian must have been disappointed."
Nonna: "Maybe they'll still recognize you. Can we hail them?"
Valron: "He was furious because I had to make sure Sloan didn't run off with the Crystal Stars."
Metal Man (GM): The radio still works, and Jane has vanished out of sight so she's not gonna be hearing you.
Valron: "While he was busy getting his shit kicked in by your group."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Yeah... by that point we had had enough of Illian and began shooting holes in his stuff."
Valron: "That was the chemical shotgun incident, for the record."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "That... ow. I still remember that." *Shudders a bit.*
Metal Man (GM): The rainbow force field seems to have protected them perfectly... it's kinda interesting, given how everywhere else was annihilated but they survived.
Valron: "Yeah. Still feel a bit bad about that. At least it helped open my eyes a bit..."
Nonna: "The what now?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well, you saved this place from... everything after that. Illian tricked Valron into using a chemical weapon of mass destruction against me and my Questers... who were all fairly new, like... Gelato."
Valron: "That should give me a little leverage, at least..."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Only a sicko would decide that insidious napalm death is what you do at Gelato. And Illian was like, 'who cares! burn them all to death!'"
Valron: "In any case..." *He tries to send a hailing frequency Republic-wards.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "He considered Questers a disease to be genocided."
Metal Man (GM): You get a response.
Valron: "It also didn't help that I was openly defiant to his attempts at murdering you lot."
Peach: *C* "Who... who is this? Are you... some sort of people... are you those people trying to get in here again?"
Valron: "Or just openly defiant to his rubbish in general, considering I actually had the interests of the people in m- Oh. One moment!" *He clears his throat, before opening comms.*
Peach: *C* "It... doesn't matter, the Stars know who is good and who is evil..."
Valron: *C* "Ah, sorry. It's just me. Kinda had to hijack an old ship."
Peach: *C* "...Oh, well... fly directly in then, the barrier should lift for you... It knows who you are especially, with the power of the stars... We can talk inside. It's... best that we don't say anything out here that will bring those people back here..."
Valron: *C* "Thank you. Good to see you're still holding up well, at least." *He nods, before going to fly towards the barrier.*
Nonna: "Does... 'Stars' stand for something?"
Metal Man (GM): The barrier opens to make a perfectly ship-shaped hole for the ship to fly in through.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "It sounds familiar to me but I'm not sure."
Valron: *Comms off.* "Crystal Stars. They're a set of artifacts unique to this region. They're what's holding the barrier up."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "..." *Xavier nearly falls over.* "C... Crystal Stars??? The... the most powerful artifacts I'd seen in a long time... No wonder they survived!"
Valron: "Yeah. I had to make sure Sloan didn't run off with them."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "...So that's why Sloan lost."
Nonna: "So Sloan desires them."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I bet his plan involved those."
Valron: "Desired. I ruined his plans to get them."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Oh yeah, Sloan had some plan about destroying the universe. Had he actually gotten those Stars, he probably would have actually posed a threat. Instead he tried to be a threat and Illian chased him away while screaming about White Elephants and brandishing Chaos Emeralds."
Nonna: "So he's not dead?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "He ran away screaming after Illian powered up and began destroying everything he had. Well... and we were gonna get him too. Everybody in the universe wanted to kill him, he tried to trick me and Illian into killing eachother so he could win."
Nonna: "He could trick Illian? That's surprising."
Valron: "He's about the #1 item on my to-kill list, too."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well, Illian wanted me dead, I didn't like Illian... All he had to do was probably feed Illian lines about me massacring the innocent..."
Valron: "Well, either him or Omnus, really. Might actually both be, all things considered."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Sloan was, well, you know. He was an agent of Borne's but it was revealed he was actually some sort of sleeper agent for somebody else."
Valron: "Considering they both tried to destroy the universe for their own ends."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "We never discovered that somebody else, making it seem he was just hiding there... some sort of outer-world guy who liked to hide. Hide and destroy, basically."
Gelato: *He tilts his head, listening to all this. His face is gradually blanker and blanker as he tries to sort it all out.*
Valron: "Mind you, I like Omnus even less due to how stupid and petty his reason for doing so was."
Nonna: "So there's someone above Sloan, giving him orders."
Valron: "Really, all that just to get rid of a rival organization..."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well supposedly there was, but he seemed to be running on his own orders when we last saw him... It's confusing. Sloan intentionally made everything around him confusing."
Metal Man (GM): The ship slowly lands.
Valron: "That died anyways because they were stupid enough to get into Borne's path... And yeah. Sloan's whole thing is being intentionally obnoxious and confusing. You should see how he dresses. It's... something else."
Metal Man (GM): You land, and Princess Peach is there. You can see this place... it's all in one piece. There's Toad Town, and then there's Peach's castle, with all the quaint little huts and the quaint stereotypical Mario 64 castle.
Nonna: "Well this is a breath of fresh air..."
Metal Man (GM): Xavier steps out and spends a moment staring in awe.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "It's... it's a copy of Nintendus... ...and its Toad Town isn't destroyed!"
Nonna: *Out too.*
Gelato: *He hops out, blinking.*
Peach: *Looks at Xavier* "What do you mean, isn't destroyed?"
Valron: *He lets out a rather content sigh. It's nice to see a sign of the one good thing he's done while he was working for Illian to still be around. He walks out of the ship, following behind the others.*
Gelato: "...Squee~."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "...You don't even want to know about the destruction of Toad Town."
Peach: *O_o* "Uh... okay..."
Valron: "It's... a Nintendus thing."
Peach: "So... some other universe like Flopside... I understand."
Valron: "Long story and I don't care to recall most of it."
Nonna: "Pleased to meet you."
Peach: *Curtseys* "Nice to meet you too, uh... what's your name?"
Xavier Ridgecrest stares at the pristine sky and shiny houses, wandering over to just stare in awe at the un-destroyed Toad Town.
Valron: "Oh! She's Nonna, and the little gel blob over there is Gelato. They're associates of mine."
Nonna: *Does one too* "Nonna."
Gelato: *He looks around excitedly, starry-eyed and happy. Everything's so calm and beautiful!*
Peach: "Nice to meet you, Nonna and Gelato... I'm Princess Peach... ...the ambassador of the Mushroom Republic, since we, well... don't have a real monarchy here anymore... ...Probably for the best... those old Mushroom Kings and their gavels are now used to process Kero Kero nutshells..."
Nonna: "A ceremonial tradition, I presume?"
Peach: "Yes... we used to have a monarchy and it was... ...bad... Every time something happened... the ten Kings would argue for ten days. Then nothing would be done about it. Bowser took over in the time it took them to even decide basic plans..."
Valron: "...They're still around? Yikes. 'least they can't really do much of anything anymore. ...Well, even less so, but you get the idea."
Nonna: "So they gathered and 'planned' for forever while the bad guys waltzed in. Sounds familiar."
Peach: "They... are a bit senile these days, so they still think they're king. But they never actually check, so we have them in a comfortable building with lots of Kero-Kero nuts to smash with their gavels. Mushroom King Kola is the most popular thing they've ever created. Mostly because they didn't really... do anything before... ...Anyway, I assume you're here for... hmmm... ...something important? It looks like you couldn't finish repairing your ship before you got here..."
Metal Man (GM): The right wing is smoking a bit.
Nonna: "...Something like that."
Metal Man (GM): Xavier, meanwhile, uses a camera that looks like it's from 1975 to snap pictures of Toad Town.
Valron: "It's... technically not ours. Like I said, we kinda took it. ...From a zombie-infested wasteland."
Peach: "So... you've seen the rest of Alsa... good. That saves me a long explanation..."
Valron: "We'd have gone back to our point of origin, but the doors there have been, well. Closed for the night."
Nonna: "I'd ask how you manage to keep a level of comfort and stability here with outside contact and trade cut off, but we all have more important things to discuss."
Peach: "It's... a long explanation but I can sort of summarize it..."
Metal Man (GM): Peach focuses and a pillar that looks like Dr. Robotnik created it pops out of the ground. It has green energy throughout it.
Peach: "An evil man named Dr. Robotnik conquered us and placed these throughout our land to power his machines... the ability to create anything he needed was seeded in these... ...They were off limits to us until Valron blocked off the enemies with the Crystal Stars, at which point they turned on of their own accord... I don't know how or why... they're tech that that evil dead man put here..."
Valron: "Huh. That's... certainly convenient."
Peach: "But they manage to manufacture what we need... the Stars seem to do something with them. ...Of course, it's still... limited."
Valron: "Maybe they help power them in some way? Hm..."
Peach: "We have to avoid getting too... crowded here, they can't... increase their output."
Valron: "Certainly worth looking into, in any case."
Peach: "We've had to turn away a lot of refugees... it's rather sad... But I bet the Stars can help you get back to where you need to be..."
Valron: "And we do have someone who might have a good idea on this sort of tech, but he's... dying. Have him in stasis, at least."
Peach: "Oh dear... I wonder if a lifeshroom will help?"
Valron: "I'm not entirely sure, myself. This sort of thing is... especially nasty. He had three days before we managed to make it more indefinite."
Peach: "Well... we don't have a lot here, unfortunately, we can only get a few wishes from the Crystal Stars per day. It's... safe, but we're unable to change a lot without unbalancing the world."
Gelato: [But we gotta help him somehow!] :<
Valron: "Hm... I see, I see. Could be worth a shot, at least."
Metal Man (GM): Xavier nods, and turns around.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "We could probably help him better back home... we're outgunned and outnumbered on Alsa... ...but we need to be able to come back here and perhaps get Tails here or something."
Peach: "Well... that's up to you... all we can really do is summon a portal back to your home and, back here if you wish to return... To heal whatever your friend has might take a bit more work."
Metal Man (GM): She would go to lead everyone to the altar of the Crystal Stars. A bunch of ancient architecture is there, and it's atop a hill... it glows with the same energy Valron might remember from when he played stand-in barrier maiden with them.
Valron: "We're pretty much going to be on Alsa for the next while, so that's not too big a deal." *He nods, going to follow her over to the Altar.*
Metal Man (GM): The stars are there, and they seem to have the same resonance. Valron would remember that, the stars can't really talk or do anything, but people like Valron or Peach or even Gelato could possibly channel their energy. Or even Nonna, though it seems to prefer people with some link to Alsa.
Gelato: *He tilts his head, trying to get closer to them.*
Valron: *He... doesn't really have any Smash Energy left, though maybe he could at least do something given that he does still have his half of the Mad Man mark.*
Metal Man (GM): Hm, does Gelato have energy left Gelato can get right up next to them. They have no defenses or force fields. Given how idyllic it is here, only nutcases would probably try to break 'em. Hm... ironically, Xavier does have left over Smash Energy. He would walk over to them after seeing the rest seem kinda... dry.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "...What did we want to do with these again?"
Nonna: "Strange, I've never experienced anything like this before..." *Full SE.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I hesitate to do something stupid, lest it become like the time I destroyed Ael by breaking my Time Device accidentally on purpose."
Valron: "Well, we do want a easy way for the lot of us to hop between Tails' lab and here, right?"
Metal Man (GM): Peach stands aside, not really worried since it was Valron who set these up in the first place.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Right. Gelato made a Stargate thing... we could probably use another of those... here. ...But we don't have any extra Magitek crystals, and we can't use the crystals themselves for construction material. And if what Peach said is correct, they don't have a lot of spare magick materials here either, thanks to the locked economy. Hmmmmm..."
Valron: "Mmhh... Well, then."
Nonna: "How about wishing for the knowledge of where to find materials for it?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Need either something Gelato can eat or something else to summon something for Gelato to eat or something to eat that Gelato can eat that can be eaten..."
Metal Man (GM): Peach gets an ! over her head.
Valron: "...Ah?"
Peach: "Oh... you want to locate something? Merlon can do that..."
Valron: "Oh! Right. Him. It's been a long while since I've seen him."
Peach: "The crystals can too, but... Merlon doesn't cost an entire wish of the crystal. He just lives in a hut..." *She points to a nearby magic hut.* "He'd charge, but, well, you kind of saved his life..."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "...That's it. Gelato can eat his crystal ball!"
Nonna: "That works too."
Valron: "Good. I kinda had to use the remainder of my money to, well... Keep the fellow I mentioned before alive."
Metal Man (GM): Peach facepalms at Xavier.
Valron: "...No. I don't think there's any need to mix stuff."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I... ...we'll find something you can mix... ...that isn't somebody else's stuff... ...I forget sometimes, we're not thieves in this dimension."
Metal Man (GM): Xavier clanks towards Merlon's hut.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "But... Merlon can find us stuff to mix."
Valron: *Walks off after Xavier.* "At the very least, stuff to help patch up our new ship."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "God... I'm so used to this place being destroyed. I memorized it all. Grunty's death ship is over there, Kuja's space ship would be over there..." *He points to perfectly non-damaged buildings.* "And over there is the ruins of Julian's bank..." *Points to normal grocery store.*
Valron: "Different planets, different happenings."
Nonna follows along.
Metal Man (GM): Merlon's hut is open. The weird, bearded wizard type is sitting at his chair... sleeping.
Merlon: "...zzzz ...zzz ...no Julian, I cannot predict your next boxing match... zzz..."
Gelato: *He bounces after Valron and the others, looking around.*
Valron: "Hey! Sorry to interrupt your nap, but we kinda need some help."
Nonna: "Excuse us."
Merlon: "Up... bup... bup... oh." *He looks at you.* "How interesting. New customers... I didn't bother to foretell this... ...Valron." *He looks at Valron.* "...Well... I... guess you need to find something, yes?"
Valron: "The new folks are all with me, and... Yes. Yes I do."
Merlon: "This one is free... the next one is not. What do you desire to see of the future, son?"
Valron: "Well, guys... Let's make this one count. What do we want in particular at this moment?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Don't ask me... I prefer to warp to the future and ask them personally, myself, and don't really have an eye for this thing."
Metal Man (GM): Merlon glances at Xavier.
Merlon: "...Ah... you're one of those people who messes up time, aren't you..."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Heheh... yeah..."
Nonna: "Don't mind him."
Merlon: "I have no choice but to mind him. Stopping him would only mess up time further. He's a variable to watch... not interfere with."
Valron: "Mmh. What about you, Nonna? Do you have anything in mind, or?"
Merlon: "...Do tell me if you find any others like him... it is useful for me to know. They... make my predictions clearer, to have names and descriptions for them."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I never did think about it that way."
Valron: "I'll be sure to keep that in mind."
Nonna: "Our goals are to cure our guest, and find a stable way back home. If we must rely on something outside of our own power, I would vote for the former. Whether it's finding something to directly help, or a means to indirectly help."
Valron: "Let's go with that, then. Presuming one over the other, we'd like to know of a cure for a fellow we have back on the ship. He's in absolutely terrible condition, and he'd have died in a few days if we hadn't managed to put him in stasis."
Merlon: "You wish to cure him..." *He looks into the Crystal ball.* "Oh Crystal Ball, look into the future... show me how to cure this man who is gravely ill... show me where or when or where this cure occurs... and how... to ensure that time happens as it is in the future..."
Metal Man (GM): The ball glows a lot. It turns blue, red, green... It flickers and patterns fill the walls. They spin around a bit as some blurry image shows up.
Merlon: "Hmmm... the cure to this man lies in an ancient room, in a ruined factory... deep beneath the ground, where you originally discovered him... a cure... to far more than just him... an ancient king sought this cure... The ancient king... the ruler of people of swords, the once powerful Vring... they had this thing... The powerful cure, is very obscure... and many have died chasing its lure... ...But search now and you shall find... a room empty and destroyed... the one who was real became the fake... and changed this other one's fate... you can enter the room near the lake... and finally do the right thing for his sake."
Metal Man (GM): He then leans there and sighs a bit, exhausted as the prophecy is finished being told.
Merlon: "It was... rather hard to find, but... it is down there... in the cursed land where the world turned to sand. By the city where this person and others like him were... made? It's... an odd thought for an old man like me. Who would just create new beings like that?"
Nonna: "Thank you."
Metal Man (GM): He would nod.
Valron: "Thanks. That is certainly rather helpful."
Merlon: "I also get the feeling if you cure this man, he can easily get you back and forth off this planet... ...or you may find what you need on your way to figure that out, anyway. The future has many paths, and they are not all certain."
Valron: "Makes sense it'd be there, at least. In any case... It'd be best if we went there come daytime. Bit less hazardous that way, at least."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "We can probably rest here and decamp for the place tomorrow... or we can wish ourselves back and wait a few days and warp back from our ship... but that's a bit risky, given these Stars might be needed, so we can probably just rest... I wish my Time device worked."
Merlon: "Even the Stars cannot restore your destroyer of continuity, metal being."
Valron: "Rest it is, then."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Well yeah, otherwise Sloan would probably STILL be here..."
Nonna: "Do we have a place to rest, or are you thinking of sleeping in the chairs of the cockpit?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Oh no... those places are so... ...new car smelly..."
Merlon: "I did foretell that Valron would be back some day..." *He gestures to a building that's been kept aside, and hands a key to Valron.* "We kept a cottage made to fit a group of you and your people, just in case. Since... even if you did have everything you needed... it's a long trip between here and everywhere else."
Valron: *He takes a key, nodding to Merlon.* "...Ah. Well, then. I'm rather grateful for that, in any case."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "Hm. Then we set out for that place and probably have to beat up some fools... ...sounds good to me."
Nonna: "Thanks. Shall we get settled in?"
Xavier Ridgecrest: "May as well. I've been tired ever since we got stuck inside that ship."
Valron: "Wouldn't be surprised if we ran into any undead Vring, given that their king was looking for the cure."
Merlon: "Indeed... not to mention Dyne and the ancients were all similarly cursed."
Valron: "Ugh... Dyne. Don't remind me of him."
Merlon: "I studied the prophecies of their time a bit... I just never thought to foretell how to find out the Vring's past. Thought they were a dead end."
Metal Man (GM): Merlon would nod, and pet Gelato. Then idly cause a pillar of Eggman-tech to rise up and summon an Eggman sandwich for him.
Merlon: "This is what the pillars do, if you are wondering... and are hungry, that is. Food, water... ...sometimes other things... they provide for us what we cannot grow with our limited lands or make ourselves."
Valron: "Hah, well then. I see even if the man himself is gone, his sandwiches live on."
Merlon: "It's like the planet itself is doing its best to protect us."
Valron: "I thank it for that."
Nonna: "Thank you again for your assistance."
Merlon: "Yes... thank you for your assistance in the past, well... the ones that were here. Let me just say, the Questers are the only reason we are still here. Those kings... they would have just let Eggman rule us forever."
Valron: "It... fills me with hope to see that at least the one of the few truly good things I've done here manages to flourish. It makes me think that maybe, just maybe, we can turn this whole mess around, even if it's only one piece at a time."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "With any luck, we can undo what those fake Questers who worked with Julian did to this poor planet. And then some day... I can defeat Digifanatic at golf. That'll show him!"
Valron: "...Don't know what that has to do with everything else, but I do want to fix things up."
Xavier Ridgecrest: "In any case... I'm gonna go rest now, my anecdotes are stopping making sense."
Metal Man (GM): Xavier wanders off.
Nonna: "Um, Xavier... you don't have the key."
Valron: "Wait for me, at least." *He shakes his head, before walking off after Xavier.*
Metal Man (GM): He walks face first into the door, and falls over.
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I knew that." *He points at the sky.* "Okay, maybe I didn't know that."
Gelato: *He bounces after Valron, pausing and blinking when he sees Xavier fall.*
Valron: *He goes to unlock the door, then head in.*
Xavier Ridgecrest gets up and then goes to walk indoors.
Nonna follows after them, looking into the place to see what it was like.
Metal Man (GM): The doors reveal multi-roomed place, much like a nice hotel, with soft beds of various sizes, separate rooms with doors you can lock and such.
Gelato: "..."
Metal Man (GM): It's been kept up decently and seems to have been well maintained.
Gelato: *He immediately runs to a bed and begins bouncing on it.*
Metal Man (GM): The beds are very bouncy--a Mushroom Kingdom specialty.
Nonna: "Huh..." *Checks for baths, showers.*
Metal Man (GM): The kitchen has an Eggman pillar in place of a normal microwave or oven. It seems to just pop up if you look. There's baths and showers here, something else they apparently have, running water and such. Xavier glances, looking around. He eventually finds the heaviest looking bed and lays on it, it barely taking his weight.
Nonna: "Well, see you guys in the morning. That is, unless you're bored and want to chat or play a game of cards or something." *She'd pick a room and immediately start preparing for a nice bath.*
Xavier Ridgecrest: "I shall sleep be now potato." *Points at the air and conks out.*
Metal Man (GM): It is a small wonder how he sleeps at all with that massive armor. But literally no one has seen him take it off, outside of the helmet, which he doesn't even bother to take off... maybe he's used to it. Whatever it is, he is murder on whatever poor bed he does sleep on, since he must weigh almost the amount of a truck. Anything else before I conclude this session? I think we're at a good stopping off point. And actually I'm feeling like we'll be getting closer to more fighty stuff soon, since the setting description factory is nearly complete.
Gelato: *Bounce bounce bounce bounce bounce--he abruptly stops and lets himself splat down, snoring softly.*
Valron: *He goes put his usual array of weapons off to the side, along with his cube. After that, he then takes off his armor, now clad in a rather plain gray t-shirt and a pair of faded jeans.* "Mmph. Far too long since I've had a chance to get this stuff off." *The wyrm stretches out for a bit, letting out a soft groan before he heads off to a room of his own and shower. It's been a long day.*
