Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 154: Quixotic Questing
Date: 5:59:51 PM, February 26th; 6:30:14 PM, February 27th; 8:34:37 PM, March 1st; 2:54:46 PM, March 2nd, 2005.
Aribar downs another Green Potion and fires a Terrorbolt at an undamaged one!
Metal Man (GM): *Destruction.*
Gibby attacks one of the untouched ones with two bullets to it's crack headed face!
Metal Man (GM): The three attacking Octoroks attack Locos.
Charles Magellean: "Oh geez..."
Metal Man (GM): 40% per hit. Then they all attack Spyke. 40% per hit.
Charles Magellean blocks each attack at the cost of his life force. (one life down) "Dammit... when you say on crack... you MEAN on crack."
Digifanatic: "I guess..."
Spyke is hit... 4 times... at 188%, he loses a life ><, taking a knee and growling.
Charles Magellean: "...Now I'm ticked." *He aims his automatic miniguns at an unharmed one. The autos glow with the effects of the power blast. He fires 6 shots that are hyper.*
Metal Man (GM): All hit.
Charles Magellean: *25% each hit.*
Metal Man (GM): It dies.
Spyke: "Yeah, Locos!"
Charles Magellean technically died, he used his only action, yes?
Digifanatic uses a Golf Club swing on the Octorok Gibby hit.
Metal Man (GM): Hit
Digifanatic follows with another Super Mario Punch *WONDER BADGE CRIT.*
Metal Man (GM): That one dies too.
Azure: *Does another swooping dash toward the unstunned one with a powerful grab attack- impact bounder.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Azure: *+5 to next attack.*
Metal Man (GM): That one dies as well... One left.
Digifanatic: "Well, that one is left."
Azure: *Throws its body off somewhere.*
Charles Magellean: "We could just let it go."
Digifanatic: "And it's still got a bit off its wind knocked out him from that stun..."
Charles Magellean: "On second thought, no."
Aribar: "Magic barrage!" *The elf launches two Magic Missiles at the remaining Octorock. 23% damage times two!*
Gibby: "If we let it go, it'd go get more of its friends... and we don't want that."
Metal Man (GM): It explodes. All of them are dead.
Metal Man (GM): 300 more EXP.
Aribar: "Whew... I'm running out of magic."
Metal Man (GM): The final generator pops out. Eliminate it and you can enter the fortress!
Digifanatic: "Well, that first part is done with."
Gibby shoots it twice.
Metal Man (GM): *KABOOM.*
Aribar downs a Green Potion and a Maple Syrup.
Metal Man (GM): The field goes down... revealing four doors. North, South, East, or West.
Spyke Level Up: 9!
Metal Man (GM): Does anybody else want to pause? Okay... well, luckily, no more fighting for a while. Which door of mystery do you take?
Gibby: "Hmm... I always trust the North."
Digifanatic: "Well, what door?"
Spyke: "I always Trust West..."
Charles Magellean: "I hate choices."
Gibby: "Anyone got a four sided coin?"
Metal Man (GM): Congratulations: The mission is 1/4 complete!
Digifanatic: "Heh, I wish."
Aribar: "Hrm... I say we start at the 'top', North."
Spyke: "At the pole... there is no real... top..."
Gibby: "It was probably metaphorical."
Metal Man (GM): You notice a flag atop the building, coinciding with the one you saw earlier.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... there's that flag." *He scans the flag to see if it belongs to any faction or something.* "Could be WACKO or something, ya never know."
Spyke flips mentally through his abilities, trying to think of which to focus on.
Metal Man (GM): (Original URL: http://www.smbhq.com/users/ssb_rpg/MissionFlag.PNG )
Smash Dex: "Unknown. It matches the map of this terrain..."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... a map."
Gibby starts walking northward.
Smash Dex: "But has no relevance."
Metal Man (GM): North door you go to.
Digifanatic enters the North door.
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/Zelda3_Dungeon_Theme_2.mid
Charles Magellean: "Since this is the south pole, why not go south?"
Spyke follows, still thinking.
Metal Man (GM): Inside... is a reception desk.
Digifanatic saves the pic of the Flag on his Dex.
Metal Man (GM): A receptionist... hologram... sits there.
Charles Magellean goes north anyway.
Gibby: "Uhh... hello there."
???: "Hello. Welcome to Master Hand's secret base."
Digifanatic: "Master Hand, huh?"
Azure: "Master Hand?"
Digifanatic: "I remember that guy..."
???: "The computers show that you have broken down the four pillars of force fields."
Gibby: "We sure did."
Digifanatic: "Beat him when I was still a naive little kid."
???: "Good work... but to continue, the doors are sealed. The only way is to teleport."
Charles Magellean: "Mewtwo said to."
Gibby: "...how do we teleport?"
???: "You must collect the letters of all 8 rooms. Here is your first letter."
Metal Man (GM): You gain... a novelty sized R.
Aribar: "Hrm... Darn it!"
Metal Man (GM): There's a door to the left, a door to the right.
Gibby takes it.
Aribar: "I knew I should have learned to teleport!"
Charles Magellean: "I think there's teleporters."
Digifanatic: "I have my Digiport lying around if we really need it, but I can only use that once."
Aribar starts towards the left door. "Well, let's get started... Save it, Digi."
Digifanatic: "I'm gonna."
Gibby follows Ari.
Spyke follows Ari and Gibby.
Digifanatic: "I'm pretty sure neither of those parties are particularly strong compared to others."
Metal Man (GM): Left room... there's a room that goes South from here... you see a letter. The letter A. The letter A is surrounding a tower of boxes. Oh... it's dark in here.
Digifanatic: "Ok, we have an R and an A..."
Metal Man (GM): But there's a glowing knob on the wall. It looks like a light switch... and is the size of a baseball.
Charles Magellean follows others.
Azure: "So what was intended on being done here?" *He says as they all walk.*
Metal Man (GM): Erm... supporting.
Gibby goes to the glowing knob, and touches it.
Metal Man (GM): The letter A is sitting under a tower of boxes. the light goes on.
Gibby: "Oooo... pretty..."
Metal Man (GM): You can see better. The switch feels loose... you could pull it out.
Digifanatic: "Should we clear out the tower if we need to?"
Gibby tries pulling it out.
Aribar walks over to the tower and gives it a kick to test its stability.
Metal Man (GM): It nearly falls on Aribar. Gibby has obtained: Large switch!
Gibby: "Hey guys, I got a switch."
Gibby puts it away.
Aribar hrms, and assumes that the tower is no longer on the letter. He goes to pick up the letter.
Metal Man (GM): Ummm... nope. The tower is still on the letter. Do you still try to take it off?
Digifanatic: "I guess we try and... dig through it?"
Aribar scratches his previous action. "I think we should just knock the tower over."
Digifanatic: "Probably best with a Ranged attack."
Aribar stands back.
Digifanatic: "At least we'll have a bit more time to react just in case..." *He backs off towards the wall, and lobs a microwave over to the tower.*
Metal Man (GM): *BOOM* Before you can move, you're all covered in boxes. Everybody's HP is halved.
Gibby: "GAH! Nice... going..."
Metal Man (GM): ...but you freed the letter!
Digifanatic: "Ack... sorry."
Gibby pushes the boxes aside.
Spyke takes some hefty damage before swimming through the boxes.
Aribar: "Who needs healing after that?"
Metal Man (GM): You get to the letter.
Spyke: "I'm fine..." (50%/100%)
Azure: "I know myself pretty well. I'm at half strength."
Aribar: "Okay... Just wondering since I've a healing spell."
Azure: "I'm fine though."
Digifanatic: "And I have a Party Heal once I turn OD."
Aribar does cast Minor Healing on himself for 20%.
Metal Man (GM): Now, you may go south or back where you came.
Gibby heads south.
Digifanatic follows Gibby, making the counter-clockwise circle around the halls.
Metal Man (GM): A hologram and another nearly-identical entry room are inside.
???: "Har har har har!!! Some Questers!"
Digifanatic: "Oh no..."
???: "I challenge you to the ultimate Quiz of the millennium!"
Aribar: "More lousy pirates?"
Digifanatic: "It's probably guarding the next letter."
???: "Pirates? Where?"
Azure: "Ultimate quiz?"
Gibby: "Aw man... I hate quizzes."
Digifanatic: "No, we were thinking the stereotypical way..."
???: "You must answer three questions! Those who fail GET BAD STUFF!"
Aribar: "...We're here for a letter."
???: "Why of course! The letter is the prize!"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, we're trying to figure out some puzzle involving an 8-letter word."
???: "Now then. How many times have you defeated Zio?"
Digifanatic: (mumbling) "Oh, god..."
Aribar: "Ummmmm... Hrm..."
???: "Tell me now!"
Spyke: "..." .oO(I have no clue...)
Digifanatic: "What do you guys think? 2? 3? 1?"
Aribar opens his dex and attempts to go into the archives to find out.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar finds the dex unopenable.
???: "Cheater! Cheater-boy! CHEATER BOY!"
Aribar: "Blah! Spoony rubbish..."
???: "Tell me now... or I take your coins!"
Azure: .oO(Who the hell is zio...)
Aribar: "I don't cheat! I pl--..."
???: "A number! NUMBER!"
Aribar: "Ummmm... One!"
Digifanatic: "Uh, uh, 3 sir!"
???: "BUZZ! BUZZ!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar and Digi lose all of their coins.
???: "You can try again, but it'll cost ye something more valuable! Anyone else? Tell me now!"
Aribar looks about this room a bit more to see if the letter is in sight.
Metal Man (GM): It's inside the head of the hologram.
Metal Man (GM): It's the letter 'O'
Gibby: "...two?" ^_^;
???: "You win! Correct! Now... question two!"
Gibby dies in relief.
Aribar attempts to walk up and grab the letter.
Digifanatic: "Phew... That was gonna be my second guess."
Metal Man (GM): Your hand bounces off of a force field.
???: "How many legs did you fight outside?"
Aribar: "Gah! ... You know, I really hate quizzes... Piffle... Do tentacles count as legs?"
Digifanatic: "Starmen count as 2, so that's 14, Pikas count as 2, that's 14, Klaptraps have 2, so that's another 14...Azure! Azure, whatever!"
???: "Azure? Azure? Tell me yer guess!"
Digifanatic: (to Azure) "Try 42."
???: "Somebody tell me before I take all their coins!"
Aribar: "Can we try again?"
Azure: "Umm 42..."
Aribar: "Digi and I, that is..."
???: "Correct! Grrr... too easy..."
Gibby: "One more."
???: "Now then. Tell me how many times Alys has died!"
Digifanatic: .oO(Phew... I'd be the one killed for that one...)
Gibby starts counting in his head.
Aribar: "...Too many times to count... Hrm..."
Azure: *Eyes slant to Digi with sigh of relief that goes back to horror.*
Digifanatic: .oO(Hmm... don't remember Brangwin's perishes...)
Azure sweatdrops .oO(Who the hell is Alys...)
Gibby thinks of the number of times. (INT check)
???: "I can't HEAR yooo!"
Metal Man (GM): Gibby: You think of 19927281291.
Gibby: .oO(That SOUNDS about right... give or take...)
???: "You have 15 seconds!"
???: "10 seconds!"
????: "5 seconds!!!"
Aribar tries to think of the answer!
???: "2 seconds!"
Metal Man (GM): It's a single digit answer.
Azure goes for a guess Int check.
???: "1. 0!"
Aribar: "Ummm... Once?"
???: "Hehehehe. WRONG!"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar loses a life.
Charles Magellean: "She has died at at least twice."
???: "Correct, freaky Lunar thing! Grrrr! You beat me!"
Gibby: "YAY! We win!"
Metal Man (GM): ??? throws the O at Locos and dies. MEANWHILE, SOMEWHERE FAR AWAY... Lumis supposedly trapped Kuja in some limbo, but he escaped. *Begins annoying piano music.* http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/Kuja%27s_Theme.mid *For everybody who isn't Locos XD.*
Charles Magellean becomes snapped out of trance. After 12 and a tiiiiiiiiiinnnyyyyyy fraction eons later, and being a crumb on a table, he has the answer.
Kuja Tribal: "..."
Charles Magellean: "...I'm sorry Kuja, but I'll need to think about it elsewhere."
Kuja Tribal: "Very well. But remember. I will know when you have made a decision, even if it is only subconsciously."
Charles Magellean: "Well, there's no point in you staying."
Kuja Tribal: "Very well. Farewell, mysterious Lunarian."
Metal Man (GM): With some sort of flash, you see Kuja disappear into a white portal. Well, you're now alone in front of Grunty's HQ ..But not for long.
Grunty: "Look here! It's that thief! See, it's clear! What are you doing here, I really don't like your cheer..."
Metal Man (GM): Grunty is at the doorway, flanked by guards.
Grunty: "Please leave, for you see, you're just a flea."
Charles Magellean: "I had came here to further the abilities of your Kappa class Phi. I did something so you could get the service for free."
Grunty: "How odd. Are you sure you haven't been drinking sod?"
Charles Magellean: "I assure you, I am not high. But soon I will say good-bye. But the objective done, and Kuja did come. Now I will leave, and not put in your plans gum."
Grunty: "Good bye, silly pie!"
Charles Magellean: "...okay, I won't rhyme."
Metal Man (GM): Grunty slams the door shut behind her.
Charles Magellean: "Someth---ah crap. Doesn't matter if they're a multi-million dollar business, a Dark Wizard, or even ruler of this world. All of them can learn something called COURTESY." *He opens his dex.* "Let's see... Coordinates 107...heading mark 227."
Smash Dex: "Hello Locos. What can I do for you? ...Warp sequence ready."
Charles Magellean: "Begin the warp to... Valhalla Fortess."
Smash Dex: "Ready... Warp engaged."
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* You appear in the teleporter room of the fortress.
Yurie (GM): A pillar of light slowly dissolves around Locos as he arrives inside the Fortress' Teleport chamber...
Charles Magellean: "Let's see... hmm... I see she's done... quite a number to the place."
Yurie (GM): The chamber is a very large cylindrical room, the walls a dark green with lines of white light illuminating it. Pillars surround the dais on which you stand, which holds about 8 teleport circles. The pillars open into what appear to be lifts...
Charles Magellean: "It's about time I settled this once and for all." *He marches boldly out of the room.*
Yurie (GM): A click is heard as the intercom turns on... "Is there something I can help you with Locos?"
Charles Magellean: "Mistress Ginsei d'Rakateur. There is something I wish to speak to you about. It concerns my... return to here."
Yurie: "Alright. Take the lift on the right." *She the lift in front of and off slightly to the right of Locos lights up...*
Charles Magellean breathes in deeply the atmosphere of this palace. He enters the lift. He then turns around the face the entrance of the lift. He waits for the lift to bring him to a higher location so he can reach the top of the former Magellean's Tower to speak with her directly.
Yurie (GM): A soft hum is heard as the platform, which appears to be glowing glass, comes to life and shoots upwards. Oddly, there's no wind as you rush upwards, nor is there any g-force...
Charles Magellean feels a bit awkward as he travels up in the fortress via this lift.
Yurie (GM): A soft hum is head as the lift comes to a stop inside a large, sphere-shaped room. people are hard at work at stations floating suspended in the sphere, holographic displays glowing, the whole sphere a sensor screen showing the outside world, the tower carefully taken out of its view. Yurie sits in the center in her chair, looking at you... "Like what I've done with the place?"
Charles Magellean walks forwards a few steps. He looks around while moving his thumb to his chin.
Yurie (GM): The lift and her chair are on a large circular platform in the center of the sphere... the platform seemingly the same material as the lift.
Charles Magellean: "You've turned my former military into a full business. Very well done. Are you marketing and producing products different from the phazon industry?"
Yurie: "Business? Locos, you're standing in the nerve center of the Nintendus Independent Armed Forces. I'm not selling anything."
Charles Magellean: "I have been preoccupied with many a---*Ahem*."
Yurie: "My forces deal with smaller threats, while the Questers deal with the big ones. You know... things that don't threaten the stability of the universe?"
Charles Magellean: "Mm-hmm. While I would like to know why the NIAF has over one trillion in its treasury, I've come to discuss a few matters; both on formal and personal levels."
Yurie: "Discuss away Locos. I'm not going anywhere."
Charles Magellean: "Very well then. I am wondering how, some people would say, how well you liked my gift that I gave you when I left for the second moon of Earth a few months ago."
Yurie: "..." *She presses a button on a chair. This causes a lightning bolt to promptly strike Locos, charring him, but dealing no damage...*
Charles Magellean: "Ayyiiiiyiiyiiaaa--" *He coughs out a puff of black smoke.*
Yurie: "...next question?"
Charles Magellean: "What...*Koff*...was that for?"
Yurie: "Your answer. You know how insulting it is to receive a set of diet bars from a guy?"
Charles Magellean: "A set of die---" *He looks head on, staring into nothingness. *Various images appear... including... a mishap! He facepalms. "Oh dammit... ...I sent the wrong packages! Those were meant for Alys, not you!"
Yurie: "Then where's my gift?"
Charles Magellean: "!" *He pulls out his wallet... and rummages through there.* "Let's see... ...Jar of honey... ...20-dollar bill... ..." *He shudders when he looks at that one.* "I don't even know why I haven't taken that out yet. ...Seal of the Undead... A glass statue that represents all that would be pretty and has much class... Ahh here it is!" *He takes out a small orb. It glows a different color every few seconds. The orb itself is made of a soft silver/tungsten combo that is extremely delicate on one's hands.*
Yurie: "...what is it?" *She stands, walking over to him...*
Charles Magellean goes to open his mouth, then closes and swallows. He rummages through a side pocket of his wallet. He finds a note that was originally attached to it. "This note came from a great uncle of mine. Has a description of this orb." *He quotes from the notetag.* 'Charles; if ever you were to face a circumstance like I have told you in the many tales of my young adulthood, that you are to give this twin orb to that one special person. It will change your life. ' "...That's what it says."
Yurie: "Well, that's nic-hey wait a second what does it mean 'that one special person??'"
Charles Magellean: "A petty tradition on my family. I don't believe in it, but I still uphold the honor of doing it."
Yurie: "..." *She reaches over and takes the orb, looking it over...*
Charles Magellean: "Something about being in an organization, fight side by side in a co-op manner."
Yurie: "...it looks like Materia or something..."
Charles Magellean: "Give it to someone that you believe is a sincere person. One that has a dominant personality, not afraid to speak her mind, have some sort of connection of the gift-giver, and not afraid to kick ass when she's insulted." *He swirls his finger in the air.*
Yurie: "I'd say that'd be me alright..." *She receives LOCOS'S ORB.*
Charles Magellean: "A bunch of mumbo jumbo, but it has a lot of meaning." *He pulls out a duplicate orb.* "These orbs are connected to each other somehow. Something about how feelings. Lemme remember... 'The stronger the ties to that person, the stronger that person's orb will glow. Such as if I feel strongly about you, your orb will glow, and vice versa for mine. It's a tradition, and the person who receives the gift can decline the offer if he/she pleases."
Yurie: "...why not..." *She stows the orb...*
Charles Magellean shrugs.
Yurie: "Now... you were wanting to talk about something else?"
Charles Magellean: "Ah yes..." *He stores his orb as well.* "You see, since I have returned, it means I am able to reclaim some of my former power. If I do remember... I believe that most of it returns to me." :) "Wait... I think the word is 'much'. It was a little less than much, but more than some."
Charles Magellean: "Though for any and all transactions and decisions must be approved by you and Aribar Hunter, I have the same ranking of power as you. Think of it as a 'Grand Chancellor' ranking; both 3rd-in-command but also as much power as the 'top dog'."
Charles Magellean raises an eyebrow. "You doubt every word I just said, don't you?"
Charles Magellean laughs.
Yurie: "You see, when you left, you handed over everything, including command of the Valhalla."
Metal Man (GM): Ricky walks in.
Yurie: "Which I updated... and then some."
Ricky: "...Well hello, Locos."
Yurie: "When did he get here?"
Charles Magellean: "Ahh, good ol' Ricky."
Ricky: "I know my ways around here. After all, I helped build stuff here."
Metal Man (GM): Ricky is now wearing a slightly too-large military outfit, shades, and a silly hat. It's got... SIX stars on it?
Ricky: "I just thought I'd check in, since our military never do encounter any major obstacles."
Charles Magellean: "You mean this organization?"
Ricky: "Zio has an impenetrable castle, and Grunty is... technically still legal."
Yurie: "...and what's with the silly outfit. Zio won't be any problem, once O.M.N.I is finally completed."
Charles Magellean: "By the time that's done, my fully upgraded X-Blaster will be able to take down the Invincible Armor and the X-Zone shielding. What you failed to realize that X-Zone shielding can be nullified and destroyed by a blast from the X-Zone!"
Yurie: "...you do realize that made no sense, right?"
Charles Magellean: "Of course I do."
Ricky: "What's OMNI?"
Yurie: "Using the X-zone against the X-zone is like throwing a pailful of water into a full bathtub."
Charles Magellean: "The shielding and blast will absorb and nullify each other, destroying the shield. I've tested it, and it works."
Ricky: "Both of you are correct."
Charles Magellean: "Now as for the NIAF... I am in power."
Ricky: "You see, the scale you used it against was just right... right?"
Yurie: "No, you're not."
Ricky: "You didn't try it on a castle-sized one?"
Charles Magellean: "When the Questers fought Matek... the O.M.N.I. blast from Valhalla... was... how did she say... 'needed a few kinks to work out'."
Ricky: "Oh! You mean the large projectile weapon which obliterated the evil Matek."
Charles Magellean: "Made him withdrawn."
Yurie: "...Do you two gentlemen mind? I'm still in command here, thank you."
Charles Magellean chuckles. "Miss Ginsei d'Rakateur: I neglected to mention about something in my DVD... Before I left and resigned as commander, I made, published, signed, and approved a few final documents. If I was to ever come back within two years of my leaving, then I could run the former Military; regardless of any haulings you might've done with it. You and Ari. It was insurance in case I ever needed to return here to Nintendus. Do you still doubt my words?"
Yurie: "Actually, I do." ^.^
Charles Magellean snaps his finger.
Yurie: "You see, there's one small thing you forgot: You forgot to specify what kind of year would be used."
Charles Magellean: "Ah yes. The Time Paradox. You do have a point... and yet it is futile. Because I actually made those documents even before I created the military."
Yurie: "According to the Valhalla's time clock, it has been precisely two years, five days, seventeen hours, twelve minutes, and thirty-seven-point-six seconds since you resigned."
Ricky: "Technically I am the senior officer here."
Yurie: "It doesn't matter. The document came into effect when you resigned. Therefore, it's irrelevant when you drew them up."
Ricky: "But obviously I am only an extra second in command, so there's no way I could appoint people to be ABOVE my own rank."
Charles Magellean smiles and snorts in a laughing matter. "Well done. It does seem that I am too late. But know this Yurie... Now matter how intriuged I am about how you closed the loophole, I will be back."
Ricky: "If you really want to debate this, perhaps you should talk with Smithy."
Yurie: "And know this Locos, this is why I built in the 'Smite Button'" *She pulls out her dex and presses said button, zapping Locos again.*
Charles Magellean puts up his finger to attract the lightning so it swirls around his finger.
Ricky: "Or me? You know. None of this arguing thing like this."
Charles Magellean: "One day, I will be back in power. Not today, but someday." *He shocks himself to give himself some self-gratitude. He coughs out black smoke.* "Rivals for now, but still friends. I will see you later."
Yurie: "I'm sure you will. Computer, remove Locos from the fortress?" **
Charles Magellean turns around, letting a smile go.
Yurie a pillar of light surrounds Locos, then promptly teleports him away...
Charles Magellean: "Be wary of Kuja Tribal, Miss Yurie."
Ricky: "Erm... Yurie? I do have some issues to talk to you about. You know, since I didn't resign."
Charles Magellean disappears.
Ricky: "So... you got this OMNI beam... it has immense power, right?"
Yurie Locos promptly reappears... in mid air... above Hyrule Lake... "Yes."
Charles Magellean: "...One day." *He dunks into the water, going about 30 feet into the lake. He later swims a few minutes of a fresh cooling.*
Ricky: "Now then..." *He goes and brings up a hologram of the black dome, with a superimposed castle under it* "While I was gone, I checked out the force field in-depth."
Yurie walks back to her chair and takes a seat.
Ricky: "The force field is very strong... but there is a weakness!"
Yurie: "Alright. And that would be?"
Ricky: "It is a dome shape. The height of energy occurs about... here." *He points at the top of it* "It absorbs energy, but an uneven amount of energy applied in the right place would make it collapse on itself. There is one worry, though. Both Zio and Grunty have been highly quiet in comparison to enemies of the old days... and I know why. They have developed the most awesome weapons of destruction known to Nintendus."
Yurie: "And this doesn't surprise me why?"
Ricky: "Well, you're a Quester. You'd know this better than anybody, save for the bad guys and maybe that Kuja freak."
Yurie: "So basically, if we bust down Zio's wall, we let all his nasty toys out, right?"
Ricky: "Ah, yes. All at once, along with the wrath of Zio. And possibly whatever Grunty has planned for us."
Charles Magellean swims to the shore, slowly drying himself off with a towel he kept dry in his bottomless back pocket o' stuff.
Ricky: "So then. I propose a cross Valhalla-Ivan-Quester-Nova attack on Zio when we manage to find the right time to attack. The overwhelming force should be able to match anything that could fit in that space, even if it was 1000 years ahead of us. ...I hope. Smithy, as you know, was highly destructive even though he lacked tactics and super-advanced technology."
Metal Man (GM): The hologram cycles through a variety of scenarios. Everything from a thousand nuclear bombs to a huge jack-in-the-box being inside the castle. Now then... Spyke... it's time to show you what happens when you give a robot stats on four weapons. This is, of course, only a 1 person thing, I'll be doing it all alone. But watch! Kappa is in a training area of Grunty's base. The opponent? A hologram of Mario. Kappa whips out a new weapon... a rail cannon. It's got some evil looking stuff on it, and there's cubes of a glowing white material inside it. He fires. The faint image of Locos's face appears above him as the cubes fly towards the Mario. One misses. Two hit. The damage calculator chimes.
Computer: "102% Darkness damage. You would have instantly defeated Mario in this case."
Metal Man (GM): The cubes went THROUGH the hologram, showing some nasty holes.
Kappa: "Excellent. This weapon is running at high efficiency. Now, to up the difficulty."
Metal Man (GM): Two Marios appear. Kappa fires again... the shots split into two, hitting both of them at once! Hit hit hit...
Computer: "Both enemies destroyed. 153% darkness damage to each."
Kappa: "The weapon is of legendary power. That fool gave me the ultimate weapon! Now... for something even more difficult."
Metal Man (GM): A floating figure appears. Mewtwo. Kappa fires at it several times. The hologram dodges. It seems unhittable.
Kappa: "Secondary mode activated."
Metal Man (GM): Kappa begins to charge for one turn. Red crosshairs pinpoint on the hologram.
Kappa: "Full attack. Engage."
Metal Man (GM): *BAM BAM BAM* It's automatically hit.
Computer: "153% damage."
Metal Man (GM): It cycles through several times. Machines and magical constructs are nearly instantly obliterated by the weapon. Silently watching, nearby, is Kuja.
Kuja Tribal: "The machine has great promise... but will it be used for a useful purpose?"
Metal Man (GM): *Fadeout.*
Charles Magellean approaches the opponents at the entrance of the arena.
Spyke approaches Locos near the entrance, his weapon in his holster. His dark brown, wind swept hair is uncombed today, like everyday. His blue vest, open in front of a plain white T-Shirt is his usual attire.
Charles Magellean: "Spyke... Azure. I see you wanna fight me... but as you don't know, I have special rules for my 2-on-ones."
Spyke: "Understandable. What are they?"
Azure stands there pulling down his black hood with gold trim. Revealing his head in a ball fade. He is wearing his usual a black and gold gi. "Special rules?"
Charles Magellean presses his finger down for each rule. "1. The items are to be disabled. As such, no outside items can be used as well."
Spyke: "Including weapons and badges?" *He quirks a brow.*
Charles Magellean: "That is my second point. 2. All badges are to be de-equipped."
Charles Magellean: "Since I have none, it is only fair my opponents have none either."
Spyke: "... Got it." *He opens the right side of his vest and takes off each of his badges, pocketing them one by one.*
Charles Magellean: "3. One of you go 2 rounds with me, and then it's the next person's turn to go two rounds."
Azure: "Isn't that 1 on 1?"
Spyke: "Like a tag without the tag."
Charles Magellean: "Example; Spyke goes first, then I attack you, then you attack again, then I attack you. Then it's Azure's turn. Right. As such, the other person cannot interfere while the 1-on-1 happens. 4. Although not a rule, I prefer to fight on a non-hazardous arena. As much as I like to slip, slide, and jump from car to car, I find places like Final Destination to be more suitable."
Spyke: "Final Destination is fine... Nowhere to hide, either."
Azure: "It's fine with me."
Charles Magellean: "By the way... while the two to tango is happening, the odd man out cannot do anything, even charge. Shall we begin?"
Charles Magellean: "Since you are beginning to battle, everyone shall have three lives each. Now let's go." *He enters the arena. He points out for the arena to be Final Destination.*
Spyke: "I see that last comment was aimed at me." *>>;*
Charles Magellean: "Exactly."
Azure: *Follows, awaiting the battle's start.*
Spyke: "So, I'm ready. Azure, you first?" *He follows behind Azure.*
Azure: "Sure... I'll take first shot."
Charles Magellean is at the middle of the platform. He bows to give honor to his opponents. "Let the contest begin!"
Azure: *Standard martial art bow.*
Spyke gives a short bow.
Charles Magellean: *Lakitu: 3...*
Lakitu: "2... 1... GOOOO!"
Charles Magellean gives Azure the "Bring it on." hand gesture.
Azure: "I guess first moves mine then." *He rushes toward locos in a speedy dash. He opens his arms wide and goes and then tires to slam them tightly around Locos.*
Charles Magellean ducks the assault. He waves his finger quickly and gives a smug smile.
Azure: *Flips out of his missed attempt and awaits Locos attack*
Charles Magellean puts up his fists and moves them around in a small circle. He goes into a defensive stance. This ends his turn.
Azure: *lifts up off the ground slightly his body trails along the ground in a high speed dash. The wind can be heard whirling against his body as he tries to slam hard into Locos chest. Kinda... just misses and keeps going. He lands, skidding on the surface of the platform before stopping.*
Charles Magellean spreads his arms apart as he grapples Azure's arms and pushes him back. He then gets out his Onyx Sword. He then leaps at Azure. "Slash of the Night!"
Azure quickly sidesteps and goes to ram at Locos again "BOZEN SMASH!"
Charles Magellean limbos backwards. He ducks, turn around then sheathes his sword. He looks to Spyke. Bring it on.
Azure: *Goes out of the ram straight past Locos just floating in the air now.*
Charles Magellean: "It's your turn, Spykey."
Spyke rises slowly in the air, his body surrounded by small gusts of wind. He swings his arm at the air, sending a compressed blast of wind at Locos. He stays floating in the air, his hand resting on his gun. He doesn't continue.
Charles Magellean crosses his arms. The blast of wind smacks the defense, and is split into two. The winds go to the left and right of him, and he lowers his arms to bring out the Onyx Sword.... "Slash of the Night!"
Spyke is struck, losing height.
Charles Magellean: *15% darkness damage. He puts away his sword, then puts up his dukes again.*
Spyke draws his pistol, firing a single, unaltered shot. In his other hand, a small sphere of wind slowly forms...
Charles Magellean clamps the bullet in his hand. He then drops it. "Bad move, sparky!" *He brings out his Onyx Sword... and lunges it towards Spyke!* *50 exp for the both of ya It's late on this side of the US, the rules need to be looked over, and I'm a lvl 15, almost 16, and Azure's lvl 3 while spyke is ...lvl 8? anyway, I throw the 'fight', not count as a loss for me, but give you a win.*
VG is right now in his room, basically ramming into the walls, hat first. He is angry.
Spyke: *Average price: 968.9 coins.*
VG: "WHY, WHY did Game & Watch have to raise the prices? I was one of his best customers!" *He continues hat-banging the wall.*
Spyke: *I can double check that figure, if you wish. He is wandering the halls with a a pad of paper and a pen in hand. On it, he is scribbling figures as he tries to contemplate this new price rise.*
SIMBER: "Prices were raised due to demand. You were buying a lot of the items in stock."
VG: "But I wasn't buying nearly all of them! It's just NOT FAIR!" *He hat-bangs the top of his bed.*
SIMBER: "I should add, Grunty's own factories are mostly to blame. The prices undercut everybody and the items are complete junk."
VG: "...so we have to destroy Grunty's factories then. Do we have any sort of mass destruction weapons we can use?" *He is slightly more hopeful.*
SIMBER: "Ivan Robotnik has one or two up his sleeves... and... There is a mission planned to assault the main building."
VG: "...if we succeed in this assault, will the prices go down?"
SIMBER: "Possibly... but the price increase was from the large amount of demand."
VG: "That still isn't fair! I feel... betrayed!" *He resumes hat-banging the bed.*
Spyke looks at his figures... "... Well, I keep making a mistake somewhere... but... the average price shot up by over 150 coins..." ><
SIMBER: "Perhaps you should ask Game and Watch."
VG: "And risk me blowing up at him and having prices raised even higher?!? For some AI, you sure are crazy!"
SIMBER: "I am unable to be crazy. Everything I saw and perform is logically evaluated by the System. Kuja's hacking has been successfully removed. If you wish, I can contact other AI to confirm my sanity."
VG: "...don't bother." *He just gets on the bed and starts crying... he's too exhausted to be hat-banging anymore.*
Spyke sighs as he discards the pan and paper "Great... I can already foresee problems with this... I can think of a certain someone who is going to need coin relief... I'll need to come up with a plan to help him." He turns around quickly and runs off to his own room.
Metal Man (GM): VG: You hear a knock on the door.
VG dries himself off quickly, then asks: "Who is it?"
Professor Oak: "Hello? It's me, Oak. I have some good news about the Zora Breather research."
VG: "...I don't recall asking about Zora Breather researching... but come in." *He opens the door for Oak.*
Professor Oak: "Well... Wolfman must have. Anyway..." *He walks in* "I have managed to HALVE the BP cost of it."
VG: "Wolfman is next door... woah. I have no clue how you did that."
Professor Oak: "It should be much more useful now. Well, I had to invent a shrink ray."
VG: "I'll make sure to let him know... I wonder if he is getting something out of this; I suspect he did something to help with that 'shrink ray' of yours."
Professor Oak: "Since badges rely on their enchantments and technology rather than size, shrinking it effectively halved its BP. I heard about the item costs, too..."
VG: "...you know about that?"
Professor Oak: "Yes. They went up because Grunty has begun to produce knockoffs of every item in existence. If we don't stop them soon, transformers and doublers and max ups will be in the hands of all of our enemies."
VG: "Every?!? I only saw 5 of them listed at G&W's store, though... ...don't tell me she made a duplicate of the Red Essence."
Professor Oak: "Every. Single. One. They're less effective and cheaper."
VG: "...I want to kill Grunty now." *Angry.*
Professor Oak: "Well, you'll be ready for the next mission, then. The complete destruction of her headquarters. Ivan Robotnik is willing to back us up as we confiscate the assets. The money we all gain will be huge."
VG: "You can bet I'll be there."
Professor Oak: "...But... we have to fight the most high-tech enemies in existence. Studies show all that money they don't use on production goes right into weapons and robotics. They're ahead of Zio and Ivan! Only Ivo could match it... and he's a moon away."
VG: "...okay Oak, now you are just talking nonsense for a scientist."
Professor Oak: "Basically... the headquarters is guarded by the most advanced machinery in the universe."
VG: "Is stealth possible?"
Professor Oak: "Details are sketchy. But the way they let Locos, Garrick, and Kuja frolic outside their base must mean something... No. They can see through to the X-zone. The materials in there are all sensitive to life. The air monitor can track us via carbon dioxide. All probes we've sent have been obliterated."
VG: "Okay, I'm willing to accept that we are Questers and all, but what you are asking of us is nearly IMPOSSIBLE!"
Professor Oak: "Not necessarily. If you use raw power, you can blast every last trap that attacks you."
VG: "Raw power... I'm not exactly known for that. Thanks for the notice anyway Oak. At least I can focus my anger elsewhere."
Professor Oak: "Okay. Here's Wolfman's Zora Breather."
Metal Man (GM): Oak tosses you a small pin.
VG catches it.
Professor Oak: "Once equipped, it allows you to go under water."
VG: "...does he even need one? I thought most reploids can handle being underwater without a badge."
Professor Oak: "...Well, he was the one who requested it."
VG: "...he probably hasn't been in the water for so long, he might have forgotten. ...he does look a little different now than he did before... sounds like he shouldn't take a chance. SIMBER, please transport this badge to Wolfman's personal storage space."
VG: *Wolfman gains: Zora Breather (after current mission anyway)*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers were at HQ when a mysterious time explosion disabled the warp room. After some repair work, they discovered the source came from a mysterious base at the South Pole. This base was surrounded by enemies, shields, and a jungle... All of which did not rightfully belong on the South Pole! After getting inside, they discovered this was Master Hand's base... and are currently working to get deeper inside. You have the following letters: R, A, O. You need 8 letters to use the warp gate. You are currently in: Left Room. In this room is a reception area, elevator music, and random stuff. You came in from the up door. You may go South.
VG and the Wolfman find ourselves warped into the mission... anything that happened 2 hours ago in real time doesn't happen until after this mission.
Metal Man (GM): (Geez how many times am I gonna post this abomination: http://www.smbhq.com/users/ssb_rpg/MissionFlag.PNG )
Wolfman: "...I am starting to not like anything that Mack touches."
Gibby: "Hmm... lets go South." *He heads that way.*
Wolfman shakes the cobwebs out of his cybernetic head.
Metal Man (GM): You open the door, revealing another storage/exhibit room. There's a box on a pedestal that's locked shut.
VG and the Wolf enter... and see a box.
Metal Man (GM): Several broken wires are in an exposed panel.
Gibby: "Great... more boxes."
VG: "What's the problem with boxes?"
Metal Man (GM): Left side wires: Red, Green, Purple. Right side wires: Blue, Yellow, Gray. You must hook them up in a certain order to make it work.
Wolfman: "Hmm... looks like a puzzle."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... I'm pretty sure we'll get buzzed for some hurt if we connect imperfectly."
VG: "Well aren't you the master of the obvious..."
Gibby: "How do we figue out how to connect these?"
Charles Magellean: "He was talking to Wolfman."
VG was talking more to the Wolf than the Digi.
VG: "Well, what do the colors have in common?"
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/nintendo/snes/Zelda3_Dungeon_Theme_2.mid
Digifanatic: "I was probably being pretty obvious as well."
Gibby: "...they're all found in a rainbow?"
Digifanatic: "No, grey's not."
Gibby: "Grey could be a cloud!"
Wolfman: "I don't recall seeing rainbows; I wouldn't know."
Metal Man (GM): I should add, the wires are organized top-middle-bottom in the order I announced.
VG: "Hmm... are any of these colors... opposites of some sort?"
Digifanatic: "Not really."
Gibby: "Colors don't really HAVE opposites..."
Charles Magellean: "Last I recall, colors are not opposites to each other..."
Gibby: "Other than black and white."
Charles Magellean: "Except for black and white."
VG: "Well... what about inverts?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. That might work Veeg."
Gibby: "GAH! Stop thinking like me!"
Charles Magellean: "Inverts..."
Metal Man (GM): The wires are easy to connect, FYI.
Digifanatic: "Might work."
Metal Man (GM): Left side wires: Red, Green, Purple. Right side wires: Blue, Yellow, Gray.
VG gets out his Dex, and asks it what the inverted colors of Red and Green are.
Smash Dex: "...One moment. Blue, purple."
Gibby: "Well there you go."
Charles Magellean: "I'm a have my doubts."
Digifanatic: "Well, we should try this one at a time."
VG: "Thank you." *Puts Dex away* "Digi, do you want to try to hook this up, or should I give it a shot first?"
Digifanatic: "Let 'em do it."
Wolfman just stays with the majority of the group... he doesn't really know much about inverted colors.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... for some reason blue and purple doesn't make sense... Hmm..." *He hooks up the purple and yellow wires.*
VG: "Digi, I'm pretty sure that's NOT what the Dex meant."
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZZZT.*
Gibby crosses his "fingers."
Digifanatic: "DAH!" *He shakes his hand.*
Metal Man (GM): You do so... the wires deal 10% damage to you and remain apart. You just discovered Yellow does not work with purple!
VG: "Want me to give it a shot Digi?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah... better me than you, Veeg. To get shocked at least."
Charles Magellean: "Digi knows what he is doing."
Gibby: "Hmm... maybe it has to do with mixtures..."
VG chuckles at that, then goes to the wires. He starts slowly... he hooks the red wire into the blue wire.
Metal Man (GM): *DING!*
Metal Man (GM): A green light appears on the thing's nearby indicators.
Gibby: "Now do purple and grey!"
VG notes that nothing has happened yet... he then attempts to hook the green wire into the purple wire.
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZT!*
Charles Magellean: "AH hahahahaaaaa!"
Metal Man (GM): 10% damage. You also hear a buzz.
VG gets shocked away from the area.
Digifanatic: "But yeah, purple and grey cause yellow didn't work."
VG: "Ouch... no wonder not all of you like the Dexes..."
Azure: *slowly walks up looking at the locos get shocked as he walks into the next room after regaining his composure. His hands can't be seen as he walks in they are covered within his gi folded.*
Digifanatic hooks up the purple and grey wires.
Metal Man (GM): *DING!*
Gibby: "And now green and yellow."
Metal Man (GM): The light turns green... well. All you need to do is connect the last two.
Digifanatic then hooks the last two, green and yellow.
Aribar catches up, blaming his shoes as usual.
Metal Man (GM): *DING!*
Metal Man (GM): The box opens, unfolding.
VG: "Alright... now what happens?"
Wolfman gets a look at the box.
Metal Man (GM): An 'H' pops out.
Charles Magellean: "...Your shoes are not the problem. It's you and your shortness."
Gibby: "Another letter!"
Digifanatic: "Well, we have an H now."
Azure looks at it oddly "H?"
Metal Man (GM): You can continue counterclockwise.
Wolfman: "What 'letters' do we have anyway?"
Digifanatic: "H, R, A, and O."
Metal Man (GM): You have: R, A, O, H.
Charles Magellean: "Raoh."
VG: "Perhaps they spell something..."
Metal Man (GM): You can continue to the South room.
Digifanatic: "We just need to know the word."
Charles Magellean: "Of course... we half way spelled it."
Wolfman: "Anyway, let's continue."
Digifanatic continues on.
Gibby: "Maybe the word is... roaches." *He follows Digi.*
Wolfman: "...isn't that 7 letters?"
Digifanatic: "Not enough letters."
Wolfman and VG follow Gibby.
Metal Man (GM): The next room... you all fall out of the doorway and onto the ceiling. The reception room is on the ceiling!
Gibby: "Oh yeah..."
Charles Magellean floows.
VG somehow gets stuck on the Ceiling!
Digifanatic: "Whoa... inverted gravity."
Wolfman: "...anyone feeling like Klumsy right now?"
Charles Magellean: "Aiiiee ya ho hooo! ...Do you?"
Computer: "!SretseuQ Olleh!"
Digifanatic: "Oh, it's not that bad... so far."
Gibby: "...what did it say?"
Charles Magellean: "It said Hello Questers."
Computer: ".uoy era woH."
Gibby: "...it's talking funny."
Aribar: "...This place is weird... Completely and totally weird..."
Charles Magellean: "We're fine."
VG: "Locos, how do you know what it's saying?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, it's talking completely backwards."
Azure: "I would fly but this inverted gravity... is gonna make that kind weird..."
Computer: ".moor eht xif nac I."
Gibby: "Oh... I get it... invert."
Digifanatic: "Uh... how?"
Wolfman: "Computer, would that actually be wise?"
Charles Magellean: "...The way the computer is talking, it's already more fowards than you guys."
Charles Magellean: "Well it's true!"
Aribar blinks, not understanding how the computer is talking at all...
Computer: ".dnammoc em eviG."
Digifanatic: "Please put us on the ground level again."
Gibby: "Umm... I think it said 'me' somewhere."
Charles Magellean: "Give me command."
Wolfman: "I don't know how to give that to you; I don't know you."
Gibby: "Yeah! I'm getting it."
Charles Magellean: "We command that you reverse the gravitational pull."
Computer: ".dnatsrednu t'nod I"
VG doesn't like being upside-down.
Charles Magellean: "Oh... right." *He clears his throat.*
Computer: ".sdrawkcab uoy erA."
Gibby: "Uhh... ix-far he-tay oom-ray."
Digifanatic: "Niaga level dnourg eht no su tup esaelP."
Charles Magellean: "FINALLY! Someone of this group is speaking more advanced like."
VG feels insulted...
Computer: ".dnourg no era uoY. .sdrawkcab si mooR."
Digifanatic: "No... moor eht trevni ot lamroN."
Wolfman: ".retupmoC ,gniliec eht no su tup esaelP" (what I was going to say)
Aribar: "...I think I'll just keep to speaking normally."
Charles Magellean: ".llup lanoitativarg eht esreveR."
Azure: "Speaking in reverse?"
Charles Magellean: "Well then Ari and Gibby, I hope you enjoy living in a backwards society."
Metal Man (GM): The room reverses... then you fly up on the ceiling.
Gibby: "...it's just a room. AHH!"
Metal Man (GM): You're now walking on the ceiling, the room being put correctly.
Charles Magellean lands safely.
Computer: "Anything else?"
Gibby: "I think my brain got scrambled."
Charles Magellean: "What else is new."
Digifanatic: "What is the code to move deeper into Master Hand's domain?"
VG and the wolf are back on the ground at least...
Gibby: "Well this time it's in my stomach."
Metal Man (GM): You notice that you're on the ceiling. Of the room which is now on correctly.
Aribar: "Locos, this is normal! Talking backwards is not normal..."
Digifanatic: "There's an 8-letter word and we need to know it to move on."
Charles Magellean: "Whatever."
Metal Man (GM): You land on the correct floor.
Wolfman: "Digi, I don't think the computer would be so kind as to tell us the word."
Charles Magellean: "That won't work Digi."
Computer: "I will give you a letter if you answer a riddle."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, true. Just checking it's willingness."
Gibby: "MORE riddles?"
Charles Magellean: "Bring it to us!"
Computer: "What grows from doing nothing?"
Gibby: "Uhh... a gut!"
Digifanatic: "Sounds ancient to me..."
Computer: "Each of you have three guesses. If you fail all three, you must sit out and wait. Guess 1. Gibby. Incorrect."
Charles Magellean: "I should've whacked you for that."
Gibby: "Well it's true."
VG: "I think this is a trick question. Even doing NOTHING is doing something."
Computer: "That is not true. One thing grows as nothing is done."
VG: "...alright, I'll play by your rules."
Charles Magellean: "It means what grows from not doing a physical activity, mushhead."
VG: *Answer 1* "Are we talking about Boredom?"
Digifanatic tries an INT check.
Aribar: "I hate riddles... Ummm... Procrastination grows out of doing nothing?"
Charles Magellean: "That's a good guess. That too."
Computer: "Aribar is correct."
Gibby: "Well if we don't do a physical activity, don't we get fatter? But I digress..."
Digifanatic: "Oh. Nice job Ari!"
Computer: "VG is half correct."
Gibby: "Sweet deal."
VG: "Thank you."
Metal Man (GM): The letter E falls out into Aribar's hands.
Aribar: "I was correct for once?!"
Digifanatic: "An e... I might have an answer."
Charles Magellean: "Raohe..."
Wolfman: "I'm not so sure about... once..., but you are right this time."
Digifanatic whispers the word "Seashore" into Ari's ear.
Aribar catches the letter. "So... Three more letters to go, right?"
Metal Man (GM): You can continue to the bottom right chamber.
Aribar looks at Digi. "Eh?"
Charles Magellean: "That's ...a word I've not heard of."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Has all those letters. But we should still move on to confirm it's possibility of being correct or not."
Charles Magellean continues to the ...direction of the chamber leading downward."
Digifanatic follows Locos.
Wolfman: "Fair idea Digi."
Metal Man (GM): You enter the chamber.
Wolfman and VG follow Digi.
Gibby follows everybody.
Azure: *Just stands there contemplating.*
Aribar follows Locos...
Azure: *Follows behind.*
Metal Man (GM): There's a circular conveyor belt that goes into circles. It's surrounded by a force field. It's like one of those claw-grabber games!
Metal Man (GM): And it says 'Unlimited credits'
Digifanatic: "Oh boy..."
Metal Man (GM): What's on the conveyor belt... is as follows.
Wolfman: "...did we suddenly enter a game?"
Charles Magellean: "Auuuhhh, this is a fun!"
Metal Man (GM): A weird box that says 'Alphabet soup', a bob-omb, a red essence, a pokeball, a bad mushroom, a detonator, a self hurter, alphabet cereal, and 500 coin bag. Who wishes to be the first to try it?
Wolfman catches his eye on...
Gibby walks up to it. "I wanna try!"
Wolfman: "...what the heck?!? What's a self hurter doing here?!?"
Metal Man (GM): You have two choices.
Aribar gets in line behind Gibby.
Charles Magellean gets in line behind Ari.
Metal Man (GM): Take a random item, or do a SPD check to get the item you want.
Digifanatic is in line third.
Wolfman gets in line; VG is after Wolf.
Gibby attempts to grab a random item. "Lets see..."
Azure: *Goes for a random item.*
Metal Man (GM): You get... AHHHH!!! A lit bob-omb! It lands on you and explodes.
Gibby: "...I never WAS good at this game..." *BOOM* *x_x* "...ow... ow..."
Charles Magellean: "Youch."
Digifanatic: "Gibby, you okay... so far?"
VG doesn't know what to say...
Metal Man (GM): 40% damage to Gibby. The bob-omb is gone.
Gibby crawls to the back of the group.
Aribar: "...Minor Healing!" *The elf casts a healing spell on Gibby for 20% and then goes up to the controls. He aims for the alphabet soup.*
Wolfman: .oO(Perhaps these items are not what they say they are... exactly.)
Metal Man (GM): You grab the alphabet soup.
Gibby feels (slightly) better. "Thanks, Ari."
Azure: *Holds his hand out and then goes for the grab.*
Metal Man (GM): It's a can. Azure knocks into Ari, but nothing else.
Computer: "Please wait for your turn."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar gets the can o' soup.
VG: "Heh... even the base prefers manners."
Aribar: "Hrm..." *The elf heads back to the group with the can, ignoring Azure, and wonders if there are any letters in this can...*
Gibby: "Ari, is there a letter in the soup can?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. I was thinking that."
Metal Man (GM): Arbar: You'll have to open it to find out.
Aribar: "Dunno... Hold this." *The elf sets the can on Gibby's head and attempts to scan it.*
Smash Dex: "Alphabet soup."
Charles Magellean attempts for the Red Essence.
Gibby: "...I was not meant to be a table."
Smash Dex: "Regular condensed soup. Gets rid of hunger, nothing else."
Metal Man (GM): Locos: You get the red essence without problems!
Digifanatic: "Too bad I don't have a combination Digivice/Swiss Army Knife..."
VG: "Aww... I was hoping for that..."
Charles Magellean grabs it, then gets to the back of the line whistling.
Digifanatic: "I think we all were. " *Chuckles*." " *He goes for the coins... he needs them badly.*
Aribar takes out Moonlight and stabs the top of the can... He attempts to cut through it.
Metal Man (GM): You grab... the self hurter! D'oh! You will take 1% damage for every attack you do for the rest of this session!
Digifanatic: *DZZT DZZT* "OW! Stupid things..."
Gibby: "Maybe if we get the cereal, we'll have our letter."
Digifanatic: "I was thinking that..."
Gibby: "Are you reading my mind?"
Metal Man (GM): You can't go much wrong now... most of the painful items have been stolen.
Gibby: "...or am I reading yours?"
Wolfman: "Hmm... good idea." *He aims for the cereal.*
Metal Man (GM): You get the cereal. The box opens up, dumping out...
Metal Man (GM): A Mid Mushroom.
Gibby: "Cool... but not what we're looking for."
Wolfman gains: Mid Mushroom.
Spyke looks at what is left on the belt.
Metal Man (GM): Pokeball, bad mushroom, detonator, 500 coin bag.
Digifanatic: "Try the Pokeball."
VG goes... well, he'll just let lady luck handle this. (going for Random)
Gibby: "But don't pokeballs catch pokemon... not letters."
Metal Man (GM): The detonator drops on VG. *HUGE EXPLOSION.*
Digifanatic: "Maybe there's something hanging around the Pokemon... like a dog tag or something."
Metal Man (GM): VG: Minus one life.
