Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 199: Principles of Illianism
Date: 7:31:16 PM, May 14th; 6:45:52 PM, May 15th, 2005.
Wolfman: "At the very least, I can help you get back to your journey... two portals were made; either go with Lashiec, or me."
Lashiec: "Also... make sure to inform us of anyone who gets in your way."
Wolfman: *To Lashiec* "Same to you." *He starts going towards the HQ portal.*
Lashiec: "While we have different ideas, we have the same goal at this time."
Garrick Fy`aar is silent... he feels terrible...
Tetra: "Hehehe. I could always just leave here on foot. Any idea where we even are?"
Wolfman has probably entered the portal by now.
Lashiec: "You could walk a million miles and never get home from here. This is Termina. Your home is in another dimension."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...Lashiec, I wish to accompany you."
Lashiec: "It is fine with me."
Tetra: "Goody. Another dimension."
Lashiec: "Zio would probably want to discuss his long untouched conflict with the Questers."
Garrick Fy`aar holsters his guns "...first... could you take this DAMNED effect off of me??"
Lashiec: "He is a Quester, you know. Easily."
Metal Man (GM): Lashiec gives Garrick a poke. Garrick is un-confused.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...*Sigh*...thank you."
Julian Sawyer: *Did he ever revive?*
Tetra is still hanging around to see what happens with the others.
Garrick Fy`aar: "Now, Tetra, get your ass in that home portal. You can WALK to where ever you going from there." *He picks up Julian and heaves his body through the home portal.*
Lashiec: "He could stay here, and risk being eaten by the darkness of the ruins. It is not my concern."
Julian Sawyer: *Heaved.*
Garrick Fy`aar: "You know, at this time, I don't particularly care either."
Tetra: "Heh. I suppose I'd might as well. Doopliss is probably wondering where I went. And I believe I need to speak with Metal about something..." *He goes through the portal.*
Lashiec: "Now, I must depart."
Metal Man (GM): Lashiec walks into his portal.
Garrick Fy`aar follws Lashiec...
Metal Man (GM): Garrick: You and Lashiec appear in a palace of darkness, much like a new version of that place that was destroyed. However, it is not the Quester Hunter HQ. It is Zio's palace.
Lashiec: "This... is the air castle."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Does Zio pick any OTHER color than black?"
Lashiec: "The reason you never found Zio was because he and his men were, and are in the air. No."
Editor's Note: No. It's Zio. He's basically Hot Topic DIO without the powers.
Metal Man (GM): Lashiec begins walking down the halls.
Garrick Fy`aar rolls his eyes and follows.
Metal Man (GM): You reach... a throne room, where Zio sits.
Lashiec: "It has been three years, Zio."
Garrick Fy`aar: *Murmurs* "It's a good thing I'm not still drunk..."
Zio: "...Impossible. The summoning ring was melted."
Lashiec: "Your magic persisted, but weakly, until I was able to escape."
Garrick Fy`aar steps out from behind Lashiec.
Zio: "Who is that next to you?"
Lashiec: "I... don't know his name."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Hey Zio..."
Zio: "What is your name?"
Garrick Fy`aar: "Here goes the Dark Waves... I'm Garrick. Remember? Garrick? Gunslinger extraordinaire?"
Zio: "I did not summon anyone named Garrick."
Lashiec: "...No, he did not come out of the portal."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...*Sigh*...QUESTER Garrick."
Zio: "...Why are you alive, in one piece, and able to talk to me?"
Lashiec: "The Questers have agreed to a truce. We must destroy Kuja."
Garrick Fy`aar: "What he said."
Zio: "...A shame... Dark Force doesn't realize that the Questers made Kuja live again. Both the Questers and Kuja must die."
Lashiec: "But we must wait until Kuja is dead."
Zio: "...You are a weak man, Lashiec. I am only second to Profound Darkness itself."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Hey, I didn't do jack to bring Kuja back."
Charles Magellean wonders if Zio knows that Lumis caused Kuja to be released onto Nintendus.
Zio: "Would you dare choose my rival over me?"
Lashiec: "...Sir... Profound Darkness wishes the same thing. It is just that I dare not say his name in vain."
Zio: "...Very well. I shall not kill the Questers... a pity. I shall kill Kuja instead."
Lashiec: "What do we have prepared for the Red Magician?"
Zio: "An army of the damned, raised from the darkness like yourself."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Whoa whoa whoa, back the train up here. Are you telling me you have an UNDEAD army that's going to take on Kuja?"
Zio: "Equipped with the weapons created through the pure evil of the Glukkons, and refined by the Space Pirates. It is my power. I should not waste it on trying to heal people."
Lashiec: "We cannot do much more than raise the undead and equip them with technology. Occasionally we transform bugs into monsters."
Garrick Fy`aar folds his arms over his chest "I have a suggestion."
Zio: "That was all in well, until Alys killed half of them. What is it?"
Garrick Fy`aar: "Find a way to bring Alys back."
Zio: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The pure dark energy can be heard rising. Lashiec cowers in fear.
Zio: "DO NOT MENTION THE HUNTER FROM PARMA!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Vases, small objects, and even a few random computers are knocked over by the dark energy.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...alright, alright, fine. But I'm telling you that an undead army with technology isn't going to do much against Kuja."
Zio: "Then I will have to face him myself, with Lashiec."
Garrick Fy`aar: "If Kuja can take down the Skeleton King in a few spells, he can certainly take out a few hundred thousand--you take him on with Lashiec? Zio, I give you some props. Your damn good when your on form. Lashiec here is no weakling either, and to be honest, you might do it. I think, however, it might be better if had the Questers back you up."
Zio: "It is of no surprise. I was a Quester. I know how to defeat my own former allies. However, we can summon evil in the same way Kuja summons power."
Lashiec: "Kuja cannot stand the combined power of good and evil."
Zio: "Lashiec was going to be my principal weapon against the Questers. I can just have him assist in destroying Kuja's forces."
Lashiec: "We must summon the ultimate evil... Profound Darkness."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...that anything like the Void?"
Lashiec: "It is evil itself."
Zio: "All of evil put together."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...and you think THAT will stop Kuja?"
Zio: "All evil, past and present, concentrated and then summoned while you use whatever good things you have to attack him, all at once? I think that will cause the area he's standing in to be erased from time itself."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...no, no, let me fill you in, Zio. This is what I think will happen..." *He slowly begins to walk toward Zio...*
Metal Man (GM): Zio stands up, looking both fearsome and vampiric.
Garrick Fy`aar: "You and Lashiec get your Profound Darkness together... we Questers rally up and we both take on Kuja."
Zio: "And? I already said that."
Garrick Fy`aar: "We win. Of course, we win. BUT..."
Zio: "...?"
Garrick Fy`aar: "You turn on us at the last moment, as soon as Kuja has fallen. You and Lashiec turn right around and attack us straight away."
Metal Man (GM): Lashiec laughs evilly.
Garrick Fy`aar: "See?"
Lashiec: "I thought you were going to attack us when we won! I guess we're both on the same page."
Garrick Fy`aar: "To be honest, Lashiec, we have a spare bit of honor."
Zio: "This cannot be entirely prevented. If Charles Magellean dislikes the Questers, and Tetra hates Metal, then I want every last of you to be obliterated, atom by atom, painfully and slowly."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Then what about neutral people like myself?"
Zio: "I was the first who had the guts to leave the Questers. I will be the last to be defeated by them. And they shall die in trying to kill me."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Zio, I have no beef with you."
Zio: "It is irrelevant for the time being. Kuja is even worse than you."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Me? Or the Questers in general?"
Zio: "Meaning, the Questers."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Ah, of course..."
Zio: "Kuja is neutral, and tricked all of those truly evil into becoming his slaves. The only thing worse was when Alys killed me by sacrificing herself."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...and how was that worse, if I may ask?"
Zio: "That... bounty hunter... if she wasn't killed by that Red Magician, I'd kill her a thousand times over! Alys... knows me... and dared call me... a trick magician! I am no fake magician... but she said it so many times... all I can see is red when I look in her direction. That... is why I hate the Questers."
Garrick Fy`aar sighs deeply, thinking...
Zio: "They stood with her, and refused to give my ideas any attention."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...what if we could arrange a pact?"
Zio: "She. She's dead, but they remain against me, and only now is there a truce..."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I want to make you a deal."
Zio: "A deal...?"
Garrick Fy`aar: "Yes, a deal. We'll work together for this mission. No tricks, no double-crosses. We'll go and fight Kuja. Afterward, we go our separate ways. Six months after the battle, the pact is off."
Zio: "There is... something I want, that may not be quite so popular with you and your friends."
Garrick Fy`aar: "What? The Sword of Darkness? Nova's motherboards? Metal's underpants?"
Zio: "I have heard that other people, even besides Kuja, are after you. Not even the UND; but there are always meddlers who get in the way. I wish to destroy them."
Garrick Fy`aar looks confused. "You mean... like Bowser?"
Zio: "Bowser rejoined the Stadium. You should know that."
Garrick Fy`aar shrugs.
Metal Man (GM): Zio takes out his smash dex.
Garrick Fy`aar: "I just--heyyy, you still have yours."
Zio: "I still have this, after all. My original smash dex. It has allowed me to spy on your organization for many years."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...well... I'll pitch the idea to Metal."
Zio: "Now... I wish to destroy these people because they are meddlers... they do not belong. I do not care about the UND; but those other people who meddle... if you wish for me to do my job, then I shall do that."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...like I said, I'll pitch the idea to Metal."
Zio: "You may go home."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I still have limits as a Quester."
Metal Man (GM): A portal opens back home.
Zio: "I can talk via computer if needed."
Garrick Fy`aar makes to walk into the portal, shaking his head. It just doesn't seem right... but whatever.
Metal Man (GM): *warp*
Metal Man (GM): VG... let us deal with where he went. VG: You last remember pressing a random button on the teleporter.
VG is now confused, drunk, and bald... well, not really bald... there is some hair... but he doesn't know where he is.
Metal Man (GM): *FLASH* Your drunkenness and confusion disappeared....
VG only remembers hitting a button... FLASH.
Metal Man (GM): But you've landed somewhere, and you don't know where you are.
VG: "Umm... what the heck happened?!?" *He gets a look at his surroundings... and his Ultimate Plush Bear; it seems to have survived... he hopes......*
Metal Man (GM): This place... it seems odd. You can't quite see where you are, yet. You're a bit hazy.
VG can't seem to get a good look... is it getting hazy? "...is anyone there?" *Slightly scared.*
Metal Man (GM): Finally, you can see again.
VG blinks his eyes a few times... NOW he checks for surroundings and bear.
Metal Man (GM): ...It's a large room, with a gigantic glass window on one end. The window shows nothing but dirt. You're underground, somewhere, and only a few dim lights provided by the mysterious location you are in shows you where you are.
VG gets a look at the window from where he is... but it looks dirty. .oO(The Dex probably wouldn't work well here... better try to use instinct here.) *He moves slowly, and follows the lights... while scared, he can still probably detect traps or something along the way.*
Metal Man (GM): No traps here. This place... has been dead for a very long time.
VG still moves slowly anyway... taking in the... lack of scenery.
Metal Man (GM): There's one way out on the right, one on the left, and one behind you.
VG grabs his bear tightly... and he just goes to the right.
Metal Man (GM): You see... some sort of controls. A steering wheel, off of a ship. More blinking red lights, indicating massive damage.
VG enters a room with a damaged control center... what happened? .oO(Okay, I must have hit the wrong button or something. I knew I should have taken that left turn at Albuquerque.)
Metal Man (GM): It's... a space ship, definitely. But it's crashed.
VG takes in more of the design... but... what the? He's in... a space ship?
Metal Man (GM): The controls are long dead; only warning lights are left.
VG tries to understand what these warning lights say... WITHOUT touching the things.
Metal Man (GM): They say various things. 'Power Core has exploded. Main Cannon is destroyed. Airtight seals compromised. All systems down. Unable to reboot computer' This thing is totally wasted, according to those lights.
VG: "Oh man... I wish Wolfman was here... he might be able to help..." *He absent mindedly pulls out his Dex, hoping for answers or something...*
Smash Dex: "Location: Unknown."
VG: "...I wasn't asking for a location this time. Any idea how this ship can be repaired?" *He does a* "wide scan sweep" if possible
Smash Dex: "It would require extensive repairwork. The entire ship is underground, under a body of water. All systems besides a few batteries powering analog warning lights are down."
VG at least still has his Zora Breather with him. "Any way to get the battery power to other systems?"
Smash Dex: "There aren't any other systems left to power."
VG: "...fair enough." *He will make a note of this room... but doesn't feel he can do much here; he goes to the LEFT room instead (from the intersection)*
Metal Man (GM): You enter the armory. Of course, all the good stuff exploded. There's a portion where it caved in with dirt.
VG looks for the bad stuff then.
Metal Man (GM): Some water drips through the ceiling. Well, the bad stuff includes some weird rainjackets.
VG gets a look at some part that was caved in... some dripping water... and rainjackets...
Metal Man (GM): That's about it... the rest is exploded.
VG gets a look at a rainjacket.
Metal Man (GM): It has the 'FQ' insignia on it. As well as the Heartless insignia.
VG: "FQ? What is that?"
Metal Man (GM): It has the FQ insignia stabbing the Heartless insignia.
VG then notices... the Heartless insignia? "...was this a Heartless hunter ship?" *He has a strange feeling... he attempts to take a jacket, and put it on.*
Metal Man (GM): It's just a jacket. Silly people afraid of jackets.
VG has gained: FQ Jacket! .oO(Might as well see if this jacket helps me later) *He will keep it on, and then take a look at the dripping ceiling.*
Metal Man (GM): It's dripping through the dirt. It's making a small pool in the floor.
VG: "...Dex, is this area going to cave in soon?"
Smash Dex: "Either that or become flooded."
VG gets the hint, and RUNS back... well, in the other direction; to the spots BEHIND where he started.
Metal Man (GM): You do so. There's one last unexplored door.
VG goes through it.
Metal Man (GM): It's another abandoned hallway. You can go left or forward... the right direction crumbled.
VG turns left... he's still clutching his Ultimate Plush Bear.
Metal Man (GM): You walk into a room with a bunch of monitors. There's a single red, glowing button. It's the 'emergency reboot' switch.
VG sees the red button... hmm... .oO(...I'm not Gibby.) *He checks the forward room first before deciding to press the button.*
Metal Man (GM): That area is a collapsed docking bay, complete with a destroyed mecha.
VG: "Okay... nothing here." *He goes back to the left room... .oO(...is hitting that button REALLY advisable?)*
Metal Man (GM): Well, you realize that's all you can do at the moment.
VG: .oO(...Gibby, time to make you proud.) *Push.*
Metal Man (GM): The monitors flicker on. Stuff shorts out and sparks fly everywhere. A nearby computer console explodes.
VG watches this thing come to life... perhaps he can steer himself out of here... wha?!? He turns to the explosion.
Computer Voice: "PROGRAM ACTIVATED."
VG: "...I sure hope it's a good program."
Metal Man (GM): The warning lights flicker... some more things pop and explode.
VG takes his bear with him to the steering room.
Metal Man (GM): A monitor fizzes, then collapses. When you get there, you see the light about the computer is off. Some other lights are blinking on and off.
VG: "...what the? I just turned it on!" *He goes BACK to the red button room to check.*
Metal Man (GM): The thing has finally booted up.
Computer: "PROGRAM ACTIVATION COMPLETE."
Metal Man (GM): A box appears on the screens... a black-and-white version of Smithy's head appears.
VG: "...there we go... wait; what DOES this program do?"
Smithy: "...I... am alive... again? Impossible! This satellite crashed almost three years ago..."
VG: "There are very few things that are impossible." *Waits for a response.*
Smithy: "...This is despicable. All of my systems are ruined, and this one is running on its last legs. There's a node of myself that's way too far away. ...All the rest of my redundant backups are gone! Somebody destroyed all of my satellites! They all looked the same..."
VG: "Well, is there any way to salvage... the rest of you?" *He doesn't fully remember this Smithy guy... might as well help.*
Smithy: "Yes. Salvage me... and... I will salvage you. We're both stuck under the ocean. You will die if you leave the armory unlocked. Lock the armory door. It will keep the water out."
VG: "Yes sir." *He goes straight to the armory door...* .oO(Wait... I have a Zora Breather; how can I die while breathing underwater?)
Metal Man (GM): You get there...
Smithy: "Open the emergency panel."
Metal Man (GM): There's a panel marked 'E' next to the door.
VG attempts to locate the emergency panel... he has no clue what it would like that... might as well use the E. He attempts to open the E.
Metal Man (GM): ...It's stuck.
Smithy: "Try harder! The water is beginning to seep in more."
VG goes for it again. "...hang on; going to get an energy boost."
Metal Man (GM): The water is beginning to pour in faster.
VG pops down his other Power Bar. STR increased. He NOW goes for it... won't be much, but worth a shot.*
Metal Man (GM): ...You... kinda dent it.
Smithy: "...Now I don't have any hands here, so you're just going to have to keep on trying."
VG: "Believe me; I am." *He tries again.*
Metal Man (GM): ...You pry it off so hard it flies off and disappears somewhere.
VG will care about the missing handle later.
Metal Man (GM): However, you now have access to a bunch of random, multicolored buttons.
VG: "Alright... Smithy is it? Which button?"
Smithy: "Hmmm..."
VG doesn't have all day you know; the Power Bar won't get too much more use at this rate.
Smithy: "Press the red, then the green, then the blue, then the green one again."
VG: "Gotcha." *He first presses the red button to see what happens.*
Metal Man (GM): The door shuts half-way.
VG likes that... he then presses green, blue, green.
Metal Man (GM): It shuts the whole way. You hear hydraulics as air is sucked out of the armory. Then a little gauge appears, showing that the armory is now full of water.
VG: "I think that was too close..." *He does NOT want to test how long he can actually have a Zora Breather underwater.*
Smithy: "...Hmmm..."
VG: "Is there anything more?"
Smithy: "There is one way out... but... it is... the hard way out. Two things, specifically."
VG: "Name them."
Smithy: "You must use an escape pod to float to the surface... ...After downloading my program onto your smash dex."
VG: "...wouldn't my Zora Breather let me just get to the surface without a problem?"
Smithy: "Smash dexes are not made to be used underwater."
VG: "...fair enough." *He whips out his Dex and says:* "Dex, scan Smithy for any unaccounted viruses and whatnot. If safe, download."
Smash Dex: "Affirmative."
Metal Man (GM): After a few seconds, it downloads Smithy completely.
VG: "Is the escape pod in the docking area?"
Smash Dex: "Yes. There is one in the docking area."
VG goes there.
Metal Man (GM): You see a tube-shaped pod in the docking bay. And a slot, about the size of a smash dex.
Smash Dex: "Plug this into the slot."
VG: "Right." *He plugs...* "this"...into the slot.
Metal Man (GM): *Beepbeepbeep* The pod opens for you.
VG gets in the pod, straps himself in if need be, and attempts to get out of here.
Metal Man (GM): *BOMPF* You're launched out ..The pod flies out through dirt, through water, and then into the air.... ..*SMASH.*
VG at least restrained himself...
Metal Man (GM): It lands inside Aribar's room.
Smash Dex: "Upload me to the computer, please."
VG: "Right." *He attempts to find a spot to upload the proper stuff to the computer... He also attempts to find a way to clean up this mess in Aribar's room.*
Metal Man (GM): You see a computer terminal.
VG uses said terminal for upload.
Smithy: "Bahahahahaa... so easy! I just had to trick you into uploading me! Defcon one security lockdown!"
Metal Man (GM): *SLAM SLAM SLAM SLAM* All exits and entrances are sealed by plates.
VG: "SIMBER, override! Administrator VG!"
Smithy: "I shut that thing down, idiot. And to think... I tried to stop you Questers by destroying the planet! No... I just had to wait for you to UPLOAD ME INTO YOUR COMPUTERS!"
VG: "Smithy, think you can just wait a moment here? There is someone else that is trying to destroy the planet as well."
Smithy: "I've waited two years too long. Now that this place is mine... it's havoc-making time!"
VG: "One that is worse than you, me, the Questers... heck, almost everyone! Familiar with Kuja?"
Smithy: "All machines: Begin work on Machine Mades! Project an army of them with holograms and march them towards all nearby settlements!"
VG attempts to find some way to stop him...
Smithy: "Who cares? I was nearly dead. I can be revived again. My backup has been copied across your systems! All of this... MINE!"
VG is probably going to get killed for this... he attempts to inject Booze into the system via Bazooze-ka into the terminal.
Metal Man (GM): ...The terminal shorts out, as does your dex... but NOT the computer systems.
VG: .oO(Okay, need a plan C.)
Smithy: "I have complete control. Don't you realize? I've already sent a fleet of your own maintenance robots to revive my only surviving satellite! And I've gained contact with my old node..."
VG needs to get through somewhere... THROUGH! He pops in a MOLECULAR PILL!
Smithy: "The power... the power that you have given me... what could go wrong?"
VG: "No one should have complete control."
Smithy: "All systems. Prepare to launch a missile attack on Echidna Village! Firing... fox 1! Fox 2! Fox 3!... Fox 50!"
VG attempts to go through the various walls to find... well, the central computer control system... and shut it down.
Metal Man (GM): You hear a bunch of missiles launch. You go through wall one. You're in the hallway....
VG: .oO(If I don't do this fast... Knuckles will kill me.)
Metal Man (GM): Holographic Wireframe people are in the way!
VG: "...I don't have time for this."
Metal Man (GM): And so are the polygon people!
VG attempts to run past them.
Metal Man (GM): VG: SPD check. *WHOOSH* You fly through them... But then, part of the floor opens up to reveal a pit full of spikes! Jump check!
VG has to hurry to the computer core room... drat; time to jump! (first jump first)
Metal Man (GM): You leap across.... You run through another steel wall. You're now down in R&R. Various guns appear. One even pops out of a coffee mug... They shoot at you.
VG: "Oh brother."
Metal Man (GM): 10 damage per hit.
VG only gets hit 6 times.
Metal Man (GM): Eh... VG has no time to attack a turret which exploded.
VG wonders how a molecular shaped creature can be attacked...
Metal Man (GM): You run through yet another door.
VG just passes through... again. .oO(...how does a coffee mug have a gun turret? ...who drinks coffee?)
Metal Man (GM): ...Waluigi appears out of nowhere. And he has a telephone.
VG: .oO(...Waluigi?)
Waluigi: "Answer the telephone, or I-a eat your hair!"
VG is going to regret this... "I think they are dead."
Metal Man (GM): Waluigi gets out a rubber fish and smacks you. Then, suddenly, the commercial for Toad News occurs in the corner. Waluigi's head turns into a microphone.
Waluigi: "Answer the phone!"
VG: "Alright, already; sheesh!" *He picks up while still hurrying... if possible; if it's a wall phone, no talking long.* "Hello?"
Metal Man (GM): *BOOOOOOOOOM* Everything explodes... and you wake up ..That was a funky, alcohol-induced dream.
VG: "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!" *He somehow gets up... from where?!?!? He attempts to recognize his surroundings......*
Metal Man (GM): You're laying in Hyrule Field.
VG: "Gah... what happened to me?" *He attempts to feel his hat... if it's still there................*
Metal Man (GM): There's nothing odd... except that your mouth tastes like alcohol. There's no hat there.
VG: "...perhaps I did lose this... and why does it feel like I shot a Bazooze-ka down my throat?" *He double-checks his inventory to see if he did lose anything... say, during the dream.*
Metal Man (GM): Nothing lost from the dream.
VG checks to see if his... well, supposed-to-be still healthy Ultimate Plush Bear is around.
Metal Man (GM): It's taped to your right arm.
VG: "...it's been a long day." *He stores the bear back in inventory; might as well save it for a real rainy... or drunk... day.*
Metal Man (GM): It appears you will have to walk home.
VG needs to find a warp pipe or warp tile... or perhaps Zelda would know...?
Metal Man (GM): ...We fade out there, assuming you walk home.
VG starts making his way to Hyrule Castle Town... Hyrule Castle should be there... never mind.
Metal Man (GM): What did you think of your dream? @_@ Refund applies. You all gained 1000 EXP from the weird fight. And everybody but Tetra got 5000 coins.
Editor's Note: Wow, that was a pretty effective surprise dream sequence. Caught me off-guard, even if it was a spur of the moment thing.
Wolfman does more Random book reading.
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman gains... DEATH EYEBROW ...Just kidding. Wolfman gains: Longvision. Wolfman can see stuff from far away.
Wolfman: *REFUND* *1 Fired Egg, 1 Power Bar, 1 Star Egg+Ultima Cube+1/3 Duct Tape combo thingy, 1 metal Cola, 2 Sleepy Bombs, 3 Item Teleporters, 2 Bazooze-kas, 1 Super Sneaker, 1 X Accuracy, 1 Ice Block, 1 Red Essence, 1 Rubber Nose.*
Metal Man (GM): 5000 coins regained! Okay. Tetra would be at HQ. Metal would be at his office. Wolfman would be where Wolfman is.
Wolfman sends MH another 1K coins... not exactly a "full" successful mission, but it counts. He is just trying to get some sleep.
Tetra knocks on the door to Metal's office.
Metal Man: "Come in."
Metal Man (GM): The door is unlocked.
Tetra opens the door and goes in. "I didn't get a good chance to talk to you in that fight."
Metal Man: "Of course you didn't. You may sit down."
Tetra sits down.
Metal Man (GM): There's a chair facing Metal's desk, which you sit down in. It's a comfy red velvet one.
Metal Man: "What is it you have to say?"
Tetra: "I wanted to let you know... I saw on TV... about how you beat that Ruvyn guy and humiliated Kuja and the UND. You remind me more of Kuja now then you did before."
Metal Man: "The irony in your sentence is marvelous."
Tetra: "Manipulating events to make your self look good... humiliating people who are only trying to protect themselves. Just like Kuja."
Metal Man: "Kuja? Protecting himself? He killed all of my old buddies!"
Tetra: "I meant the UND!"
Metal Man: "They had it coming for them. No one messes with the Questers. The Quester Hunters were just like them, until Kuja blew them up."
Tetra: "And you wonder why people hate you Questers."
Metal Man: "We protect the Stadium, not the people."
Tetra: "The UND are only trying to save their planet from the destruction your bumbling has caused. Personally, I support what they're doing. But because they disagree with your methods, you decide they are evil. Fascist... self serving... pig..." *He tries to keep calm... mainly because he knows he's no match for Metal.*
Wolfman is going to change his actions...
Metal Man: "I am not called Metal Man for nothing. Your insults will not bother me."
Wolfman is walking towards Metal's room.
Metal Man: "And I know that my name might remind you of... Stalin, but I assure you that I am not Communist or Fascist."
Wolfman is probably hearing some arguing...
Metal Man: "It is Ivan's job to protect the people. That's why we let him handle their protection."
Tetra: "If you only care about the Stadium then why don't you let the UND take care of Nintendus? Why strike them down for wanting to defend themselves?"
Metal Man: "Because they are attacking us. Like Lashiec, we will not hesitate to defend ourselves if attacked. If they didn't lay a finger on us, then, hey, they can go around doing what they want."
Tetra: "So it's you versus them? Doesn't it even matter who's right and who's wrong?"
Wolfman: "...let me ask this Metal. If we are to take care of the Stadium, then how come we are to take care of the Slytock problem instead of them?" *He hopefully heard that part. He would make his entrance now.*
Tetra: "Huh? You?"
Metal Man: "The Slytock effects us all. Also, if we keep it going in there... then the evil might very will revive the evil Quester Hunters. We can't let that happen."
Wolfman: "...either way, I've said this before and I'll say it again. I think we do need to change some Stadium bylaws."
Metal Man: "My position is extremely tough. I can't please everyone all the time."
Tetra stood up. "I am not an enemy of the Questers. But you, Metal, are an evil, self-serving fascist. I hope one day the Questers will realize that."
Wolfman: "I think we need to worry less about the Stadium right now, and more about the real world out there."
Metal Man: "Well, the problem is that we're too low on people. With Charles leaving there, Tetra leaving there, the large collection of errant or evil Questers..."
Tetra: "The problem is you just don't care..."
Metal Man: "My planet was destroyed. How can I save the people?"
Wolfman: "X used to be the only one that had to fight the Mavericks. If one person can make a difference... well, a small group can as well."
Metal Man: "I'm afraid that if I do anything, I'll botch things."
Wolfman: "...at least you know of your fear; it makes you human."
Metal Man: "X died and went Maverick repeatedly. I can't help many people while dead."
Wolfman: "Let it drive you to do better. ...X went Maverick? When did that happen?" *He probably wasn't around when this happened.*
Metal Man: "Books, books I tell you. Supposedly he killed Megaman."
Wolfman: "...that's not what I heard..."
Tetra: "Is the great Metal scared?"
Metal Man: "Look, the point is, I'm keeping our bumbling stuff away from the people."
Wolfman: "We just have to improve ourselves and bumble less. We're only human... well, most of us. Point is, we make mistakes."
Metal Man: "If you want to take the fault for when Garrick shoots civilians because they frowned at him, then go ahead."
Wolfman: "Garrick will be detained somehow. Perhaps having him do a mission without his guns might be a good idea."
Metal Man: "He shot at Lashiec and created a horrible, pointless battle."
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man: "We're lucky that Lashiec is evil and that we could say it was honest want to kill him and rid the world of his evil."
Wolfman: "I don't agree with everyone's motives and actions here."
Tetra: "So what then? If the Questers are too unpredictable, why not just dissolve them?"
Metal Man: "And Gibby... he presses buttons!"
Wolfman: "...Tetra, that is a good question."
Metal Man: "He might self-destruct Eisnaught!"
Wolfman: "Here is the problem, though."
Metal Man: "Dissolve them? No. We can do something."
Tetra: "But you don't."
Wolfman: "One of the purposes of the Questers was to basically learn from the original heroes, and hopefully become them. I think that purpose got lost somehow. Now most of the Smashers just fight in the Arena, and don't answer our summons... only Mewtwo really does anymore."
Metal Man: "Wasn't that the point?" *He looks over documents.*
Wolfman: "If heroes are needed, they should be able to help."
Metal Man: "It says... 'The Questers will defend the Stadium so that the Smashers may battle uninterrupted.'"
Wolfman: "Then I hereby nominate we amend that passage ASAP."
Metal Man: "That is the rule I have been following."
Wolfman: "I think that rule is holding our potential back."
Metal Man: "We've protected the Stadium and the smashers have fought as much as they wanted."
Wolfman: "We haven't really had to protect the Stadium much lately. But other worlds are in trouble. ...even this one. I think we should somehow work more closely with the original heroes, learn from them, have them learn from us... and perhaps by teamwork, we can all improve."
Metal Man: "Well then. There you see, Tetra. I have been doing my job. It's because my job description is outdated that this happens."
Wolfman: "...time to get updated then."
Metal Man: "I'll fix this."
Tetra: "Metal, let me tell you something. When I told you I got onto Kuja's ship by a teleporter accident I didn't tell the whole story. That accident happened years ago. I was shot five years ahead into a world where suddenly everyone wants to kill each other. I've screwed up and I've been scared stiff the whole time. But I still fight! You come up with stupid excuses to hide the fact that you just don't care!"
Metal Man gets out a red marker and crosses out all of the first rule. "Let's see... how about... The Questers shall protect Nintendus and its adjacent realms from the forces of evil."
Wolfman: "...no offense, but I think some of these changes should be brought to the actual Smashers themselves. See if they get approval. Things do have to be fixed."
Metal Man: "I think we should try to rely on ourselves for this. Let them go around and protect their realms, of course."
Wolfman: "...at the very least, I'll set up the Job Board so that if anyone wants help from the Questers, we can send them that help."
Metal Man: "Sure. But it's because we relied on them and their moves that we based everything off of that we've been doing nothing but defending the Stadium. I'm no politician. Don't expect me to do everything right."
Tetra: "I don't know what I should do."
Wolfman: "Tetra, do whatever your heart... or whatever powers you... tells you to do. In the end, it is usually right."
Metal Man: "Now then. Pending this thing, I'm going to have a talk with the Questers that have... problems." *He writes down a list.*
Tetra: "Metal... I still don't think I can approve of your methods..."
Metal Man (GM): 'Charles L. Magellean, Garrick Fy'arr, Gibby... Puffball thing, Sky High...'
Metal Man: "Do what you want. I'm not going to tell you what to do. I just have to deal with these other, far more dangerous people. Charles is wandering about, ignoring everything, while Garrick shoots people, Gibby pushes buttons, and Sky High blows things up."
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man: "You're not pushing buttons while shooting people, are you?"
Tetra: "Nah, I just punch out village elders, remember?"
Metal Man: "...Well, that was my fault, not yours."
Wolfman: "...and sometimes launch your EMP pulse whenever I'm around... but I understand when you do that."
Metal Man: "I kinda told that guy to act like his brain was melting."
Wolfman: "At times, there is no choice, and it's for the better."
Metal Man: "Now then. I must be off to tell Charles that he's a blooming do-nothing person."
Tetra laughs to himself. "Just when I was contemplating coming back... you remind me of your own manipulative ways."
Metal Man: "I don't care if he has a hologram of Eggman, either."
Wolfman: "...besides the Job Board, what should I do to improve things?"
Tetra: "One thing, Metal."
Metal Man: "Well, whenever a Quester does something stupid, reprimand them. Or hit them with a block of wood. ...Yes?" *He then realizes he'll probably be hit by several blocks of wood.* "...Please don't use any boards with splinters in them."
Tetra: "It's become abundantly clear to me I'm too weak to do anything on my own. One day I'll be stronger and then I'm on my own. Until then... I think your organization might be the best way for me to build my power."
Wolfman keeps that in mind.
Tetra: "I'll return. But I want you to know upfront, I'm just using you until I can protect my home planet my own way."
Wolfman: "If you want me to help you Tetra, I'm here."
Metal Man: "Use away. As long as you don't press buttons and shoot people."
Tetra nods to Wolfman. "Alright, no buttons unless I know exactly what they do. And I'll try not to shoot any good guys."
Wolfman: "...perhaps I should discontinue the Bazooze-ka then... That weapon seems to either push buttons or push laughter during battle."
Metal Man: "Oh? Keep that, it's perfectly fine..."
Tetra: "Hehe. Just don't liquor up your allies anymore. I suppose I should tell Doopliss I'll be leaving his services."
Metal Man: "Yes. Keep the enemies pushing buttons and shooting people. Just send him an email."
Tetra nods and leaves Metal's office.
Wolfman: "That wasn't my fault..."
Metal Man goes out... to see one Charles L. Magellean: Resident Do-nothing.
Wolfman also leaves... he needs sleep.
VG has recently learned that Lashiec is somehow working with us.
Metal Man goes to the warp, and sets it for 'Charles L. Magellean'
VG mails him back his staff, then sleeps.
Metal Man would then suddenly appear... in Charles's base on the Second Moon. "This place looks like Canada. I wonder if it's full of draft dodgers."
Ricky: "Hello, a---- ahhhhhh!!!! The crazy man isn't dead!"
Metal Man (GM): Ricky flees.
Metal Man: "...I'm not crazy... just mentally shifted to the left. Now then... where's Charles L. Magellean?"
Charles Magellean reads through the book in the main room and asking... "Fayth... How long until we're out of Purgatory?"
F.A.Y.T.H.: "...I don't know, but Metal Man is here."
Charles Magellean: "... Send him this way."
Metal Man (GM): Metal comes in through a door that opens for him.
Metal Man: "Greetings, Charles. This place reminds me of Radio Shack."
Editor's Note: Completely bankrupt and defunct?
Charles Magellean: "...Illian." *He continues to read through his new multi-paged book of 100,000 pageness.*
Metal Man: "Well, I know you hated the old Questers."
Charles Magellean: "You know, it's amazing how you got here."
Metal Man: "But now... we've changed. We're going to stop being centered around the stadium and... ...Yes. That is amazing. I have no clue where this is."
Charles Magellean: "How, in all places, are you able to warp to a place where an entire planet is in transit from the X-Zone right back to Earth of FY-55."
Metal Man: "Perhaps I have a magical hat. A magical hat of magicainium. Surrounded by a moat of mildew."
Charles Magellean puts down his book. He looks to Metal. "Alright. Let's cut the crap. What do you want? I've left the Questers, I'm not interfering with your affairs."
Metal Man: "Well, I want you back with the Questers." *Uncle Sam Recruiting Picture Pose* "Well, you're just as bad as we were by not doing anything."
Charles Magellean breathes in slowly... then breathes out deeply. He goes to the refrigerator.
Metal Man: "The only difference is that we're going to do something... and you're going to fly through the X-zone into Earth for no reason."
Charles Magellean: "Want something to drink?"
Metal Man: "How about a Dr. Pepper."
Charles Magellean: "Can or liter?"
Metal Man: "Just a can..."
Charles Magellean nods. He pulls out a can of Dr. Pepper and a bottle Coca-cola. He goes to sit back down.
Metal Man: "Anyway... all that stuff you hated is gonna be fixed. We're not going to continue pushing buttons and shooting people."
Charles Magellean laughs just a bit and smiles. He looks away from Metal. "Illian, I haven't said the whole truth to you."
Metal Man: "...?"
Charles Magellean looks to Illian. He takes a swig of his cola from the bottle. He moves his hand to the chair opposite of him from the table. "Have a seat."
Metal Man takes a seat, and cracks open the can of Dr. Pepper, and drinks some.
Charles Magellean puts the bottle down.
Charles Magellean: "It's like this. There's more than the alleged corruption of the organization. It's more in depth than that."
Metal Man: "Well, I'll fix anything else that you find wrong. You know better than I do."
Charles Magellean: "It's not about the group, Metal. It's the people. No matter where we went, where we wanted to go, there was always someone that wanted to kill us. Be it, Bowser, a twisted goomba, the Overkill, a rouge machina, Kuja... I couldn't stand the pressure of the constant amount of enemies that always wanted to jump down our throats and the constant state of peril on Nintendus. Despite the 'Good Future' ."
Metal Man: "Is that it? Not so bad... I thought it was like Tetra, where you though I was out to destroy things."
Charles Magellean: "I wouldn't doubt that statement."
Charles Magellean takes another drink.
Charles Magellean: "I thought by leaving that world behind, I could concentrate on my world. I couldn't be farther from the truth."
Metal Man: "Well, that does sound rather bad..."
Charles Magellean: "First, here comes Mr. leader of the X-Nauts."
Metal Man: "He's always a meanie."
Charles Magellean: "He comes in with a big 'Solarian' temple, a bunch of numbers, and my personal Golden Warrior."
Metal Man: "..." *JAW DROP.*
Charles Magellean: "Needless to say, we were successful... but at a price."
Metal Man: "...That's worse than Kuja... almost."
Charles Magellean: "I worked very hard to find the 7th machine made for Zeta... and I had to destroy him. Solarian temple is who knows where..."
Metal Man: "...Crashed on Nintendus."
Charles Magellean: "Course, I had to use an ancient transformation to beat him in a showdown. He claimed that Magitek would rule all..." He cringes his teeth and shakes his head, disgusted. "I... HATE... MAGITEK. Combining science with technology is an insult to existence and will only cause war. Due me a favor and tell me the Questers aren't using it."
Metal Man: "...And Garrick is... making it and spreading it about. ...In addition to shooting people."
Charles Magellean: "..."
Metal Man: "He shot a dark wizard in the back of the head."
Charles Magellean: "That is typical. The shooting part, I mean." *He gets up from his seat.*
Metal Man: "That wizard tricked VG into shooting booze into Garrick. Garrick then went mad and killed several other Questers while drunk."
Charles Magellean just speaks in Lunarian, cursing.
Metal Man drinks some more soda... looking very resigned to the insanity Garrick has caused.
Charles Magellean sits back down... still angered. "Here's another thing... I've been looking for relics of power in my spare time... and one of the Bowser necklaces? Old Thirteen Gentlemen satellite. You know the malevolent SIMBER?"
Metal Man: "Hmmm... he's not dead?"
Charles Magellean points with his thumb upward. "He's been reprogrammed after pondering for 10,000 years. Renamed F.A.Y.T.H. now."
Metal Man: "Weird... but good."
Charles Magellean: "Anyway, guess who appears on the Quester satellite?"
Metal Man: "...Zio?"
Charles Magellean dabs his finger to the table with each word. "Kuja... Tribal... Himself!"
Metal Man: "...Of course, he'd be there. Why would he be there again?"
Charles Magellean: "I found plans, extremely calculated, planning everything up to the point of where I got the necklace. Comes in ...and said I ruined his plans when I quit the Questers. ...I had to battle him. But this you will NOT believe. I was able to have the upper hand with a little help from Fayth at the satellite. His power was weakened there."
Metal Man: "...Amazing... so you would have ruined his plans anyway... And that insane thing I did to stop him wouldn't have mattered..."
Charles Magellean: "But when I came back here... Mr. Tribal had his forces here to destroy us. We used the power of faith to drive him away. Not relics... not power... but faith."
Metal Man: "Well, that's great. I'll remember that next time we meet him."
Charles Magellean: "We tried using it again to attack him when he and his black forces were attacking you... Appears his faith on Nintendus was strong enough to counteract ours."
Metal Man: "Well... maybe it will work if we all work together. And stop being split apart."
Charles Magellean: "Hold on... a little more. Now onto the reason why we're in transit. Smithy and Grodus came with ARK to attack us."
Metal Man: "...That's another crazy one."
Charles Magellean: "Smithy tricked me into using the Red Chaos Emerald to power up the space colony, and Grodus freaked out and left. This was recently. Like a couple days ago. He overpowered me with his Machine Made Ridley... and then used his Doomsday Orb to send me and my world to the X-Zone."
Metal Man: "...It's a shame he doesn't make up equally absurd schemes to defeat Kuja."
Charles Magellean: "We were able to come back here after some help by the ruler of the X-Zone... what was his name? A... something. Fayth, what was his name?"
F.A.Y.T.H.: "Arc."
Metal Man: "...Arc?"
Charles Magellean: "That's right. Arc. 'v1.10'. ...How did you know? Or... should I ask... do you know of him?"
F.A.Y.T.H.: "...I scanned your dex."
Metal Man: "So... uhh... anything else. I heard that other person... err... computer say that name."
Charles Magellean: "Well, we're on our way back... and when we get back..." *He finishes off the rest of his cola, takes a swig from his mouth, and sets it down.* "There's gonna be one hell of a tussle. I didn't know Smithy was that angry with me, calling me his most devastating weapons against the Questers." *He smiles.* "It was good we did that double-agent thing, eh? That was a good one!"
Metal Man: "Yes... after this, though, perhaps you could... find a way of coming back? We could use your type of expertise against Kuja."
Charles Magellean: "...Expertise?" *He looks at Sardis Mongul's journal again.*
Metal Man: "I mean, you don't have to be a Quester. But being able to defy him with Faith is something very... good for the planet."
Charles Magellean: "...I have wanted to come back for some time... but that's the other reason..." *He looks out to the blank 'sky' out the window.* "Twenty some odd years ago, the Great War ravaged our world. Zemus was sealed, but the Lunarian homeworld was devastated... and I was on vacation." *He pounds his fist on the wall.* "I wasn't there... to help... WHY!? I... traveled worlds... to become stronger. Hopefully to help my people... It was then I was able to come to Nintendus...5 years ago. The amount of power I gained over those years was exponentially greater than the other dimensions over the 20 years combined. ...But... I fear... the worst may have happened."
Metal Man: "What's that?"
Charles Magellean sits down... silently holding back his tears. "That... Zemus may have already been awakened... But more importnantly... That the Lunarians. They may be..." *He snuffs his nose to hold back.* "...Unsent."
Metal Man: "...????" *He looks quizzical and confused.*
Charles Magellean puts down the journal. He picks up a book of history. and reads a clause. "The dead need guidance. Filled with grief over their own death, they refuse to face their fate. They yearn to live on, and resent those still alive." *He closes the book.* "You see, they envy the living. And in time, that envy turns to anger... even hate."
Metal Man: "...Sounds kinda like Phantom was for a while. an angry ghost."
Charles Magellean: "Should these souls remain on the living realm, they become fiends that prey on the living. That is why certain people are taught a dance known as "the sending". The sending takes them to the Farplane, where they may rest in peace. While some souls can accept death while alive... many can't. Pyreflies are somehow related to unsent... yet how and why is unknown even to our scholars."
Metal Man nervously chuckles. His refusal to die is why he's wearing a cybernetic suit. "Yes... death... funny thing, that..."
Charles Magellean: "I fear that the fiends that have increased over the years is either due to overpopulation... ...Or they have become unsent."
Metal Man: "...Well, it is very serious. What if we helped you, and you helped us?"
Charles Magellean: "Unfortunately, we are not able to reach the Moon Core... despite our efforts to reach---" *He sighs.* "I won't allow the Questers to become involved in my personal affairs, despite how much Zemus is stronger than Kuja. He cannot penetrate the unknown power sealing him in the Moon Core, but neither can we on the upper ground. The Moon Crystals make sure--- Hmm... you know... come to think of it, when I went to the Lunar Palace, I wasn't able to find FuSoYa. Until I can find him, I'm wasting my time and effort here."
Editor's Note: Should have handled this OOCly, just simply noting, "If it is not of the concern of this RPG, then, we don't need to see any more of it in this game. You can always write your own fanfic elsewhere."
Metal Man: "...So you can help us until you find Fo... So... Yaaaaaa?"
Charles Magellean: "Don't make fun of the Guardian's name. That is a name for a Lunarian that is in charge of high tasks."
Metal Man: "Eh... I was just unable to pronounce it correctly."
Charles Magellean: "Regardless... I... will... come back." *He raises his finger...* "On one condition..."
Metal Man: "Yes?"
Charles Magellean goes into a different ...slightly lower voice with his hands in the "grappled" position (they're holding together) "Can I keep my relics?"
Metal Man: "...Yes."
Charles Magellean: "Strange thing... Coincidentally, your star board? The thing needed to power the Suit of Destruction? Well the suit was in the hands of your old friend, Lachronikus."
Metal Man: "...Amazing..."
Charles Magellean: "You, but not really you, per say, but you of another dimension helped me out. In effect, Lachronikus was defeated by you."
Metal Man: "I wish I had the time to see alternate reality versions of myself defeating an alternate reality clone of myself."
Charles Magellean: "Okay, as soon as I, or me and a combination of others depending if you want to help, handle the Smithy showdown coming up, then I'll report to Quester HQ." *He extends his hand. He retracts his hand. He waves his finger.* "...I wanna see both of your hands. Fool me once... and fool me twice..."
Metal Man: "Okay..." *He shows both of his hands.*
Charles Magellean: "...You sure you don't have a third arm?" *He extends his arm outward fully.*
Metal Man: "I don't have a third arm..."
Charles Magellean: "You could if you used your leg." *He chuckles.*
Metal Man: "I just am silly... though I could use a third arm." *He shakes Charles's hand... PAUSE.*
Tetra is currently walking down the hall... toward... somewhere...
Wolfman (GM): you somehow find yourself at the Stadium Gift Shop.
Tetra: "That's funny. I didn't even know we had a gift shop." *He looks over the various... gifts.*
Mr. Game and Watch: "You need to explore the first floor more often."
Tetra: "Gah! Hey... don't startle me like that..."
Mr. Game and Watch: "Sorry about that. I'm right now on break. Anyway, what brings you here?"
Tetra: "That's okay. ... What are you, anyway? I've never seen a... two dimensional person before."
Mr. Game and Watch: "I have a lot of other friends, family, in various other places. We do it all in our place, from rescuing people from buildings, gathering food by crossing some turtle bridges, defending forts from invaders... you name it."
Tetra: "Sounds pretty exciting. What're you doing here?"
Mr. Game and Watch: "I need to send one of my brothers a gift... for some reason, even though he's not here any more, he LOVES the Klumsy the Klutz action figures."
Tetra: "Ah."
Mr. Game and Watch: "Anyway, I have to hurry and get this se--"
Wolfman (GM): Tetra: your dex is a beeping.
Tetra: "Er... hold on a second, guy." *He answers the dex.*
Mewtwo: "Tetra, when you have a moment, please come down to the Big Room." *This is Mewtwo talking, obviously.*
Tetra: "Okay, stuffed animal guy. That all?"
Mewtwo: "One other thing. I'm not a stuffed animal guy." *Static.*
Tetra hangs up the dex. "Sorry, 2D guy! Gotta go!" *He heads toward the Big Room.*
Mr. Game and Watch: "Have fun."
Wolfman (GM): one or two warp pipes later... "Thank you for coming on such short notice."
Tetra: "No problem. What's up?"
Mewtwo: "As you are definitely aware, we have to restore some popularity with the world, get ourselves organized better, and somehow get stronger... all while most of the actual Smashers do their arena fights for the fans."
Tetra: "Of course."
Mewtwo: "Wolfman, VG, and I decided to make a Job Board in that regard. Basically, whenever anyone in the world asks for help, we help. However, these types of jobs are only meant for one or two people."
Tetra: "Sounds reasonable."
Mewtwo: "It could be worth it in the long run, however. There is a job that's already on the board, waiting for someone to claim it."
Tetra: "Really? So... what's the job?"
Mewtwo points to the new addition to the Big Room... a huge board, like a message/request board, rests in a corner. "Well... go read it! I can't do everything for you, can I?"
Tetra walks over to the board. "I guess not..." *He reads the request list.*
Wolfman (GM): there is only one request right now. Do you wish to see it? Hyrule Fan: The last time I went to the Stadium, I forgot to get a Link's Spin Attack action figure! Please get one for me! Do you accept? Once you get it, meet me at Hyrule Castle Town.
Tetra: "Simple enough. I can do that."
Mewtwo: "I'll leave you to your own devices as to how to get there and accomplish the mission."
Tetra takes the request. "Alright. Well, good thing I already know where the gift shop is now."
Mewtwo: "You have full authorization to use the warp room if needed."
Tetra: "Alright. Thanks, Mewtwo."
Mewtwo just nods, and gets back to work.
Tetra heads to the gift shop.
Wolfman (GM): There are 3 aisles worth of things, front and back the register is at the front of the store.
Tetra: "Okay then... a Link Spin Attack action figure..." *He looks for the Spin Attack figure.*
Wolfman (GM): ...any idea what it would be a first glance? INT it! Well, you definitely found one...2nd aisle, right side: the section is clearly labeled.
Tetra: "Here we go." *He picks it up... and picks up a Samus Aran action figure too just for the heck of it.*
Wolfman (GM): there are different Samus figures you can choose from: regular, Varia, Gravity, Charge Shot pose, Justin Bailey, etc.
Tetra picks up the charge shot figure. "Justin Bailey in a Samus outfit? Whoever came up with that figure?" *He shrugs and goes to the register.*
Wolfman (GM): Tetra: the Justin Bailey figure... well, it's Samus in a bikini.
Shore T: "Will that be all?"
Tetra: "Yeah. How much?"
Wolfman (GM): Shore T rings up the two...
Shore T: "You're in luck; the Spin Attack figure is on sale today. Total will be 600 coins."
Tetra: "Alright." *He pays the 600 coins.* "Thanks, guy!"
Shore T: "Have a good day."
Wolfman (GM): you can still hang around the Gift Shop if you want what is your next target?
Tetra waves to Shore T., stuffs both figures in his pockets, and heads for the warp room.
Computer: "Destination?"
Tetra: "Hyrule Castle Town."
Computer: "Please stand by for the warp tile."
Tetra: "Okay."
Wolfman (GM): Few sounds later the warp tile is ready and activated.
Tetra steps onto the warp tile.
Wolfman (GM): *Zelda ALTTP warp effects.*
Tetra appears.
Wolfman (GM): you have reached Hyrule Castle Town... or rather, about 10 minutes walking distance from here. however, the town is easily visible; it's north of here.
Tetra: "Well... I suppose I could use a walk." *He heads north.* "I just realized... I don't know who I'm suppose to give this thing to." He continues walking north.
Wolfman (GM): I now give problem #2 on your mission Tetra. you are halfway there... and the sun is starting to set ...set rather fast, actually.
Tetra: "Starting to get dark. I'd better hurry." *He runs north now.*
Wolfman (GM): that bridge is definitely starting to go up now you might want to SPD it to see if you can make it luckies are available if you wish to use them, if you need that reminder if it makes you feel better, this isn't the ONLY path well... you aren't going to make it in time.
Tetra just stops. "Crap. Too late."
Wolfman (GM): ...and here is why Tetra! Suddenly, three creatures just... well, pop up out of the ground, and look at you funny. they are made of skeletons.
Tetra: "I don't suppose you guys know another way into town?" *He gets his weapons ready. He's heard what happens in Hyrule after dark.*
Wolfman (GM): ...the skeletons definitely get in attack formation.
Tetra: "I've fought skeletons before. As long as they don't merge into a 130 foot tall behemoth, this'll be a piece of cake." *He fires his finger shot at Stalchild 1.*
Wolfman (GM): ...can we say, ouch? yes it does it's not quite dead yet ...or undead... ...you get the point!
Tetra blasts it again.
Wolfman (GM): at least it's not Redead ...or is it? *Death animation* ...you will though you can somehow shoot the guy on your way down after somehow losing your footing.
Tetra: "Whoah!" *He falls down into... something.*
Wolfman (GM): you fall flat on your face! You will lose 2 AC for this round of combat.
Tetra: "Ow. Stupid slippery grass..."
Wolfman (GM): Stalchildren 2 & 3 take advantage, and just do basic claw swipes. do any hit?
Tetra manages to avoid the first strike, but is scratched by the second. "Ah!"
Wolfman (GM): 20 HP is nicked from you.
Tetra: "Ergh..."
Wolfman (GM): no actions to get up off the ground; AC back to normal.
Tetra blasts Stalchild 2 with two actions of gunfire.
Wolfman (GM): bad humor aside, it's dead Stalchild 3 would go... but there is a problem out from the earth... comes Stalchild 1 again!
Tetra: "Hey, you're dead! Well... again!"
Stalchild 1: *Strange dead noise language thingy*
Wolfman (GM): Stalchild 3 goes for more scratching.
Tetra: "...what? I'm sorry, I don't speak zombie. Ah!" *He dodges the stalchild. He uses his strongest attack... his gun.* :P
Wolfman (GM): I was about to say... ...your gun has overheated! You can't use it for 3 rounds now! Stalchild 3 is gone, though.
Tetra: "Ah!"
Wolfman (GM): Stalchild 1 decides instead of scratching... biting.
Tetra: "Darn broken thing. Hey!" *He dodges to the side.*
Wolfman (GM): Stalchild 2 raises from the earth.
Tetra: "Stop that, stupid skeleton!" *He blinks.* "Okay now... this is getting old..." *He fires two rounds of triple missile into the ground between the two stalchildren, hoping to blow them both to kingdom come at once.*
Wolfman (GM): they are close enough... but how much damage does it normally do for a direct hit? Congrats: you knocked both of their heads off. however, they are still alive!
Tetra: "...goody. Headless skeletons."
Wolfman (GM): so, more claw swiping for you! and it looks like 20 more HP taken from you.
Tetra is hit squarely by the first but avoids the second. "Ah..."
Wolfman (GM): now Stalchild 3 comes back up!
Tetra is now almost out of MP and without his gun... he punches stalchild 1 in the chest.
Wolfman (GM): it would laugh at you if it had its head.
Tetra: "..." *He runs for it now.*
Wolfman (GM): where are you running to?
Tetra runs and jumps into the river around the castle town.
Wolfman (GM): SPD check if you can successfully run away... since that is technically what you are doing now roll INT check you will run ...but you do lose 200 coins in the process SPLASH.
Tetra jumps in the river, apparently dropping 200 coins in the process.
Wolfman (GM): you are now in the castle town waters... even if you don't have the Zora Breather, there are plenty of spots to stand without a problem.
Tetra: "Now then... how do I get into town?"
Wolfman (GM): the way I see it... you've got some options here swim around the moat one way swim the other way try to climb up the bridge find a secret passage pray someone rescues you.
Tetra: "I can't climb that bridge... I wonder if there's a secret way in, for in case citizens get back after dark..." *He looks for a secret passage in.*
Wolfman (GM): well... from your current position, it doesn't look like there is anything.
Tetra swims around the moat, looking for a passage.
Wolfman (GM): which way Tetra? there are two ways around the moat left, or right basically: you are facing the "Entrance." you go right, then you are in a peaceful spot... it doesn't feel like the Stalchilds will come up here there is some land to your immediate left.
Tetra gets back on land.
Wolfman (GM): you get a good look at the current area; there isn't really a lot... just some trees. oh yeah; town walls are also on your left, heavily fortified of course.
Tetra sits under a tree. "Looks like those skeletons are gone. I guess it'd be safe to rest here until daybreak... if it comes to that..."
Wolfman (GM): INT check. Spiderman: "Spider senses tingling!" ...or whatever you have something just isn't... right... with this tree.
Tetra: "That's weird... this tree seems wrong..." *He looks over the tree to see what's up.*
Wolfman (GM): well, it does look a little thinner... there aren't as many leaves up top...
Tetra: "Hmm..." *He knocks on the tree's trunk.*
Wolfman (GM): Knock Zelda secret tune plays.
Tetra: "Did I just hear music?"
Wolfman (GM): Tetra: you have somehow caused a hole to form directly beneath you. ...you are about to go in it.
Tetra: "Gah!" *He falls.*
Wolfman (GM): you suddenly find yourself in some sort of cave system... you aren't damaged from the fall for some reason there is only one passage way to go.
Tetra: "Note to self... nest time I knock on a magic tree... move..." *He gets up and heads toward that passage.*
Wolfman (GM): you see lots of grass... and a strange flower type bed near the back.
Tetra looks around for anything out of the ordinary or important.
Wolfman (GM): ...that strange flower bed is definitely something.
Tetra heads over to the flower bed.
Wolfman (GM): SURPRISE it comes to life!
Tetra: "Gah!"
Wolfman (GM): and it's getting ready to shoot something at you!
Tetra avoids that. "Cut that out!"
Wolfman (GM): it shoots again! it's shooting... nuts!
Tetra dodges again and tries shooting at the flower bed... if his gun works.
Wolfman (GM): your gun will work right now ...only to fail again! apparently, water doesn't mix with it the flower creature shoots you again... what will you do now?
Tetra sees sparks shoot from his gun. "Stupid water..." He avoids that as well.
Wolfman (GM): it shoots again!
Tetra looks around for something to deflect these shots *POW! He is hit.*
Wolfman (GM): not quite yet... if you can do something *INSTANTLY*, you might be able to reflect.
Tetra tries one desperate move. "Iron Plate!" He summons the iron plate spell, hoping it'll stop or deflect that nut.
Wolfman (GM): Glow Reflect OW.
Tetra: "Awesome."
Wolfman (GM): suddenly, the flower guy is more... well, on two legs, as if begging.
Tetra: "Whew... are you gone shooting now?"
Business Scrub: "Yes, please don't hurt me! I can make a deal with you!"
Tetra: "A deal? What is it?"
Business Scrub: "You want to get in the town, right?"
Tetra: "Yeah. How'd you know?"
Business Scrub: "It's written all over your face kid!"
Tetra: "Er... I see. So can you help me?"
Business Scrub: "This flower bed can launch you up to the town! However, I need payment for my services. One ride for 100 coins"!
Tetra: "Should've seen that one coming. Everything about this mission seems to be costing me." *He hands over 100 coins.* "There you go."
Wolfman (GM): the Scrub moves out of the way for you to get on the flower bed.
Tetra: "Thanks." *He steps into the flower bed.*
Wolfman (GM): suddenly, you get pulled in it!
Tetra: "AHH!"
Wolfman (GM): and you'll be spit back out in 5...... 2........ 1.............. BLASTOFF!
Tetra: "WAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!"
Wolfman (GM): well, you are a little higher in the air than you'd probably like... you are now above the castle town... but where you land...
Tetra: "I don't like this ride!"
Wolfman (GM): well, if you are lucky, you can land in the fountain, which has since been expanded otherwise, you can try to land on a slanted roof; there are a few of them hit the ground... and well, it will hurt oh yes; that too go for the fountain, you can't hit dead center.
Tetra tries to move his body in the air to hit the water of the fountain.
Wolfman (GM): either way, tell me where you are going, and do STR + SPD SPLASH Minor bump you lose 4 HP from hitting the bottom of the fountain.
Tetra climbs out of the fountain.
Wolfman (GM): ...someone is coming.
Tetra: "Sounds like an easy mission, Mewtwo. Piece of cake. What was I thinking?"
???: "Hello? Did I hear something?"
Tetra: "Hi. I... just fell in the fountain."
Wolfman (GM): The creature comes forward... it looks like a 12 year old kid.
Tetra tries to hide his gun behind his back... not sure how a Hyrulian would react to that kind of technology.
Wolfman (GM): SPD check it Tetra the 12 year old kid sees you putting something away... but he saw what it was.
Kid: "AAAAAAAH! GUARDS!"
Tetra: "Wait, kid! Don't call the guards!"
Guard: "Too late."
Wolfman (GM): You are surrounded by 8 of Hyrule's finest.
Tetra: "Oh crap. Please don't hurt me. I'm just here to bring something to a friend."
Main Guard: "Give us the weapon and we'll let you carry on. You should know that weapons are not allowed during this time of peace."
Other Guard: "We haven't been attacked in quite a few weeks, and it's just the way we like it!"
Others: *Similar statements.*
Tetra: "Of course. I'll get it back before I leave, right?"
Main Guard: "It depends."
Tetra: .oO(Remember what Metal said... can't fight innocents.) *He drops the gauntlet off from his right hand and hands it over.*
Wolfman (GM): Guard #...let's say 5, takes it.
Main Guard: "I suggest that you make your business quick here."
Wolfman (GM): the guards go back to their stations.
Tetra: "Right..."
Kid: "Why did you have a weapon anyway? You aren't from here!"
Tetra: "No, I'm not. I'm here to give someone something they forgot. An action figure. You wouldn't happen to know who wanted it, would you?"
Kid: "Is it the Link's Spin Attack action figure?"
Tetra nods. "It is."
Kid: "YIPPEE! Gimme gimme gimme!"
Tetra: "I take it you're the one who made the request? Okay then."
Kid: "PLEASE give me the figure!"
Wolfman (GM): this kid is anxious.
Tetra takes out the figure and hands it over. "Here you go, kid." ^_^
Kid: "Thank you! But... still, why did you have the weapon? Even Link sheaths his sword whenever he visits here."
Editor's Note: I dunno, AFAIK Link could psychotically roll into things and smash pots even if he didn't use his sword... might be projecting a bit much here on the GM's side.
Tetra: "I kind of got jumped by skeletons outside..."
Kid: "The Stalchilds?"
Tetra: "Yeah, those."
Kid: "I think I can get your weapon back; just stay here for a moment while I talk to my uncle."
Tetra: "Thanks. Who is your uncle?"
Kid: "They should understand if it was the Stalchilds."
Wolfman (GM): the kid starts running, but says back to you:
Kid: "The 5th guard."
Tetra: "Alright!" *He sits down by the fountain to wait for the kid's return.*
Wolfman (GM): 10 minutes later, the guards and kid return.
Main Guard: "Sorry for being jumpy on you earlier."
Tetra stands when they arrive.
Guard 5: "Here is your weapon back... may I suggest having it sheathed before arriving?"
Tetra: "It's okay. I understand. A weird guy with a weapon must seem really out of place."
Kid: "So is that!"
Tetra: "I'll take care not to have it out from now on. I'm sorry."
Wolfman (GM): the kid points to something big... brutal... flying.......
Tetra looks to see what it is.
Wolfman (GM): so do the guards... and well, they panic and hide.
Tetra: "Kid, you might wanna run. Whatever that is it looks pretty mean."
Wolfman (GM): the creature... it's pretty ugly, but mostly green. It has some wings, and has a horn on its head. By its stance and body structure, it's mostly a quadrupedal creature.
Kid: "Good idea. Thanks again!"
Tetra nods and readies his weapon in case that thing attacks.
Wolfman (GM): Zelda-like Big Text: Original Dragon from Hell Aquamentus Music: http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/Nintendo/n64/Z6_Boss_V3_1.mid BOSS BATTLE Order: Tetra, Aquamentus.
Tetra starts the battle by eating a mid mushroom and drinking a royal syrup. "Ugh... mushrooms and syrup do not go good together. Yucky taste..."
Wolfman (GM): the Aquamentus starts this battle off by charging right towards you!
Tetra is hit.
Wolfman (GM): There goes 40 HP.
Tetra is knocked to the ground but gets up. "Alright, big guy. Chill!" *He tosses an Ice Block at Aquamentus.*
Wolfman (GM): roll SPD the Dragon gives a big scream... it REALLY doesn't like it! but roll for freeze anyway it was a good hit, though you still have a 2nd action.
Tetra zaps the Aquamentus with a taser blast now.
Wolfman (GM): Aquamentus can not be stunned. it can breath three fireballs in your direction though! but I suggest paying attention to the fireballs and not the bad ice block BOOM BOOM *for 40 HP total in fire damage.*
Tetra cries out and hits the ground. He's hurt but not out. He throws another Ice Block, aiming to shoot this one right in the dragon's mouth.
Wolfman (GM): that hits and that freezes!
Tetra now blasts the dragon with a round of photon shots.
Wolfman (GM): well, you get some more damage done... but that gun has been overworked! I'd advise giving it a rest so it doesn't blow up or something new round: still your go it takes his turn to unfreeze.
Tetra: "Dex, scan that dragon."
Smash Dex: "...DING!"
Wolfman (GM): Aquamentus HP: 166/350 Actions: 1 AC unknown.
Tetra: "Alright then. What say we finish this thing."
Wolfman (GM): This dragon is known for its hot balls of fire and dangerous charge attack. Some varieties of Aquamentus have sharp horns on their head to do extra charging damage. Note: More details on a second scan Done.
Tetra nods. He doesn't need a second scan.
Wolfman (GM): 2nd action is available if you want it.
Tetra fires a trio of missiles at the beast.
Wolfman (GM): what's the damage, and what's the element if any? ...where did that brain of yours go? You just HEALED IT!
Tetra: "Well, crap."
Wolfman (GM): Aquamentus feels refreshed from being bathed in fire it returns the favor: 3 more fireballs.
Tetra just stands there and watches those fireballs miss him by a mile. "You need to work on your aim, Mr. Dragon."
Wolfman (GM): the Aquamentus somehow chokes! It keeps on coughing... and coughing... Tetra: stray fire hairball coming your way! SPD check! you successfully avoid the fireball your turn.
Tetra chucks another Ice Block into the dragon's mouth.
Wolfman (GM): it lands! but... does it freeze? you have another action available.
Tetra uses his second turn to blast the dragon with his gun.
Wolfman (GM): the Aquamentus decides to charge you again.
Tetra barely avoids that charge. He throws another ice block as the dragon passes.
Wolfman (GM): what now?
Tetra puts up an iron plate to protect him in case of more fireballs.
Wolfman (GM): the Aquamentus unfreezes itself.
Tetra fires two rounds with his fingershot. It may overheat, but he hopes this will blow up that dragon for good.
Weapon: *Kaboom*
Wolfman (GM): It will need repairwork ...lots of it however...
Tetra: "Gah!"
Aquamentus: *Death.*
Tetra drops the gauntlet off his wrist. "Ah! Hot! Hot!"
Wolfman (GM): the Aquamentus leaves something behind, though...
Tetra: "What's this?"
Wolfman (GM): it looks like... well, a huge, spinning heart with a silver lining.
Tetra: "I see..." *He heads forward and picks up the heart.*
Wolfman (GM): Tetra: Suddenly... you are healed to your max. ...and then you somehow feel STRONGER! Tetra: +10 HP permanent.
Tetra: "Whoah... that feels... tingly."
Wolfman (GM): Kid and Guards come back.
Main Guard: "Well, it looks like you took him out."
Tetra picks his gun back up, careful not to burn himself on the overheated metal.
Kid: "Wow! You are nearly as cool as Link!"
Tetra: "Thanks, kid. Is everyone alright?"
Other Guards: "We're fine."
Kid: "I can't wait to tell my friends about this!"
Wolfman (GM): the kid goes back home.
Main Guard: "I'll send for Impa to take you back."
Wolfman (GM): the guards leave for a moment.
Tetra: "Thank you. Don't hesitate to call if you ever need help with more monsters!"
Wolfman (GM): Impa now shows up.
Impa: "Tetra of the Questers, I presume?"
Tetra: "That's right. And you would be Impa?"
Impa: "Yes; I'm of the Sheikah, the Shadow People. You have done a good deed tonight... perhaps later deeds will help you and your friends survive in the long run."
Tetra: "I hope so. We are trying to turn our organization around. To do more for the people."
Impa: "That is good... continue to help others and you will be helped during your time of need. Do you need a way back to your headquarters?"
Tetra: "That would be good, yes."
Wolfman (GM): Impa grabs your shoulder, does some fancy Sheikah magic or something... and the both of you are transported to outside the Stadium.
Tetra: "Thank you, Impa."
Impa: "...I must say, I'm impressed with this place."
Tetra doesn't know what to say to that.
Impa: "I rarely see such magnificent structures that aren't home to pure evil. Anyway, I must be going. But do you have any questions before I depart?"
Tetra: "No. Just... don't hesitate to contact us if you need any more help."
Impa: "And same with you and your friends."
Tetra nods.
Wolfman (GM): Impa steps back a few paces, throws a Deku Nut on the ground... and vanishes...?!?
Tetra shields his eyes from the bright flash. When he opens them Impa is gone. "Strange... I guess I should be getting back inside then." *He heads back into the Stadium.*
Wolfman (GM): Your dex beeps again.
Tetra answers the dex. "Hello?"
Mewtwo: "Please report to the Big Room... it's not a mission, but I figured you'd want to see the Job Board for yourself now."
Tetra: "Alright." *He goes to the Big Room.*
Mewtwo: "So, how was your assignment?"
Tetra: "Easy enough. I had an encounter with a dragon called Aquamentus. Know anything about it?"
Mewtwo: "It's been a while since I've heard of them... they often breed in dungeons or special dragon dens. There are different varieties out there... you seemed to have faced a stronger variety than what I remember the older generations of Questers fought... And you were alone when you fought this one as well."
Tetra: "Yes. But he fell easy enough. Just a few ice blocks and he went down."
Mewtwo: "Anyway, you might want to see the Job Board... a response has already come in."
Tetra nods and takes a look at the board.
Wolfman (GM): Instead of a request... there is a thank you message Thank you for getting the action figure I forgot to get! My friends will think I'm the coolest now! Mission Grade: B+ EXP: 350 Coins: 2000 Gun: Needs repairing ...and that is that really.
Tetra: "Well, I guess I should go take a look at this thing." *He heads to his room to see if he can fix his gun. And end I guess.*
Charles Magellean (GM): *END OF JOB* After giving the action figure to Hyrulian fan, the local Aquamentus attacked, but was disposed of quickly by Tetra. The first job of many to come is done, and Hyrule is safe... for now.
