Aribar (GM): Albuk finally tosses a dagger from his bandolier at Tetra.
Editor's Note: Wow, he waited between logs before throwing i--just kidding.
Metal Man: "I got lost back there... I'm not too good at navigation."
Aribar (GM): Hit?
Tetra: "Hey, no daggers, you three! That's not ni--"
Aribar (GM): I hoped you liked living. This is a strong attack. 3% damage.
Tetra is hit in the chest. "Ow..."
Aribar (GM): ... And it bleeds. A lot.
Tetra: "Good night, folks..."
Aribar (GM): Do you die, Tetra?
Tetra drops dead.
Aribar (GM): Darn!
Charles Magellean: "You DO know he's going to come back. It is now three assassins versus three official Questers. I am no longer needed, however, I have been struck."
Aribar (GM): Albuk dares a quick and questioning glance at Charles, wondering what he means, but then turns back to the battle at hand. Oh, yeah! Albuk threw his dagger at you .. Which is still stuck in you... And as far as you can tell... *Looks up.*
Charles Magellean takes out the shattered glass from his body quickly.
Aribar (GM): You feel weaker (-1 temporary Strength), and you take damage (10%).
Metal Man: "Well, these people won't be too hard to defeat... it'll just take some more effort."
Aribar (GM): People, please inform me if your Strength scores reach 0.
Digifanatic's STR is 9.
Aribar (GM): Because then you're pretty much dead.
Charles Magellean looks to Dellion and disrobes of the doctor's attire. He know transforms his hands into double-sided blades. "NOW, Blackguard, see what I have for you." He dashes towards Dellion and uses Double Edge Dance!
Metal Man resumes dancing in tune to the music, whether or not the people in the battle would actually hear it ICly.
Aribar (GM): The first two attacks find holes in his dagger, he takes the third blow without pain, and the fourth attack is parried with his sword. 25 damage. 10+15 is 25.
Charles Magellean: *75 damage then. He looks to Albuk.*
Aribar (GM): He grunts under the blows, but now just looks more angry than hurt.
Charles Magellean looks back to Dellion.
Albuk: "I would like my dagger back, you know."
Charles Magellean: "If you didn't attack me, I wouldn't have struck."
Metal Man: "Hey! I could give him his dagger back."
Dellion: "And what would you have done if we killed your friends? Just left?"
Albuk: "With knowledge of where our hideout is even. We can't have that."
Charles Magellean looks to Albuk and throws him his dagger.
Aribar (GM): Speed modifier, Locos.
Charles Magellean: "You can move to a new one. Besides, no, I would not leave. There is your dagger. Now... for a good ol' fashioned Mewtwo attack!"
Metal Man: "You're going to steal all their coins?"
Charles Magellean clamps his hands together in a Kamehameha stance, but charges up a Shadow ball. "That's something I don't know yet. This... however... is a Level 3 Shadow Ball!" " *He chucks it at Albuk Coldblade!*
Aribar (GM): His eyes light up with surprise as the Shadow Ball nails him right in the chest.
Charles Magellean: *300% damage.* "...Whoops. That... was... a little overboard. ...Sorry."
Albuk: "..."
Metal Man: "It's weird... Charles and I are friends, and exact opposite ends of the spectrum."
Aribar (GM): That is your entire turn, correct?
Metal Man: "While I'm almost bloodthirsty, he's almost a pacifist."
Charles Magellean no longer trusts these assassins. He goes into an observing stance. (+2 ac) *Now it is.*
Aribar (GM): He lets out a battlecry and heads towards the newcomer--Metal. The blackguard unleashes three mighty slashes with his weapon at the leader of the Questers.
Digifanatic quietly whispers, "Okaaaaaaaaay..." to himself about that Shadow Ball...
Editor's Note: Ah yes, the entire reason those sorts of moves were banned... their overpowered nature.
Metal Man avoids the first one, then is hit twice.
Aribar (GM): 44% Dark damage.
Metal Man: "Ow! That tickles!" *He is looking very beaten up.*
Aribar (GM): Minus an action since you just died I believe.
Tetra returns via rewinding time for his own body... or something.
Charles Magellean: "A joker at the very end."
Tetra: "Ow... you know, that wasn't very nice! You know what I'm gonna do about it?" *He takes out a Met Hat.*
Albuk: "Complain?"
Tetra: "I'm going to hide like a coward!"
Metal Man: "Complain them to death, Tetra! You can do it!"
Charles Magellean: *Sigh*
Tetra puts on the met hat and somehow pulls it down over his entire body.
Charles Magellean: "You three are fortunate. This is what I had to deal with."
Digifanatic: "Close enough."
Charles Magellean: "Day in, day out."
Tetra lifts it up an inch. "Oh hush!"
Albuk: "You'll never see the light of day again, coward."
Tetra slams the hat back down.
Charles Magellean: "He's not seeing the light of day NOW. I swear..."
Digifanatic: "I know... It's insane." *He tries to do a Fire Punch on Albuk.*
Aribar (GM): Hit! Yeah.
Albuk: "Kazlo, kill that one!" *He motions to Digi with his scimitar.*
Digifanatic then tries that infamous Feinter on Kazlo.
Metal Man imitates Albuk, and points at Albuk. "Kazlo, kill that one!" *He motions to Albuk with his machinegun*
Charles Magellean feels a strange ...uh-oh.
Aribar (GM): Oh. Okay. Should be -5 to the base damage... Yup.
Digifanatic defends.
Aribar (GM): The shadowdancer tries to slice up Digi thrice with his sword. The assassin picks up his dagger, casts two Darkness spells (One over Tetra, and another at the wall with the black star painted on it). Those form globes of darkness over their areas. Finally, he gets into a defensive posture and begins to spin in place with his weapons twirling around him like a screw.
Charles Magellean pulls out from his briefcase the Star Rod. He uses his first action to attach it and the backpack to his back. He uses his other two actions to heal himself. (50 health)
Aribar (GM): He rushes to his leader and casts Cure Serious Wounds on Albuk before rushing over and giving an upward cut to Digi followed by a horizontal swing with his sword.
Digifanatic surprisingly sidesteps and then ducks...
Aribar (GM): Oh, Locos, -1 STR and 10% on your turn. I forgot about that. Yes. So your strength is now temporarily -2. -1 + -1 = -2.
Tetra lifts the huge metal hat up. "Hey, who turned out the lights?"
Aribar (GM): You'd see only blackness. The same as before.
Tetra: "Ha! That doesn't even matter. Zeta, lock onto that Kazlo guy and fire." *He fires two salvos of missiles at Kazlo.*
Aribar (GM): Okay. Now that that's out of the way... What is Zeta? And how does it detect targets? Hrm... Okay. Okay. Kazlo is hit by a barrage of missiles. His armor isn't looking too good, and he's pretty beat up... Still in the fight, though.
Digifanatic has one last action of X Acc left... he tries using a Fire Lunge on Kazlo.
Aribar (GM): OUCH! You've been getting critical hits left and right! So 64%? Okay.
Kazlo: "Albuk... We have to get outta here!"
Digifanatic is somehow been the lucky one. He ODs again and tries giving Kazlo an OD Fire Punch as his X Acc fades.
Charles Magellean: "You are not leaving yet."
Tetra: "Come on, guy! Don't be a coward! Just hide under an oversized helmet!"
Aribar (GM): That barely hits the agile shadowdancer. Yes. Hold on before your last action now...
Digifanatic: "You're a very durable fighter, I'll tell you that."
Tetra: "Don't die on us now!"
Aribar (GM): Kazlo falls to his knees, staring ahead into space. His photon sword flickers out and falls to the floor next to his gun.
Charles Magellean: "...Is he..."
Tetra: "I can't see anything. What's happening?"
Aribar (GM): He then falls facefirst onto the floor, and just... Kinda disappears.
Tetra: "What just happened?"
Aribar (GM): Kazlo fades into shadow and then nothing. All that remains is his armor and weapons and possessions.
Digifanatic: "I think I took him out."
Aribar (GM): Continue, Digi.
Charles Magellean: "Did he accept... his fate?"
Albuk: "Dammit!"
Tetra: "Great! One down. Although I hope you didn't kill him..."
Aribar (GM): That death surely shook the morale of the remaining two.
Digifanatic doesn't grab anything yet. He, instead, uses Super Thunderstorm on the others, using up 2 OP but it'll hit big if it does.
Dellion: "We need to escape, Coldblade!"
Aribar (GM): ... Is that the right roll?
Charles Magellean: "Not before I know how to circumvent this blasted venom!"
Digifanatic is exhausted after that last turn.
Aribar (GM): Both are obviously tired, but hanging in there.
Metal Man: "All right, you annoying, Quester-hurting people, prepare to face your doom!!" *He takes out a Max Shroom and violently scarfs it down, taking him from near-death to full health.*
Charles Magellean: "Pig!"
Tetra: "I'd run if I were you two."
Metal Man then attacks Albuk... with a hail of icy bullets. ENHANCED BY CRAZY.
Charles Magellean: "Young Ward, them running and me in this current condition is not the best of events."
Metal Man (GM): *WONDER CRIT.*
Tetra: "Oh, right. You should run AFTER you help Mr. Magellean!"
Metal Man (GM): 20 ice damage per hit.
Aribar (GM): Every single one hits...
Albuk: "Never. He shall waste away to nothing!"
Metal Man: "And if this wasn't enough... I believe you deserve an encore!" *He uses his second of three crazy uses to launch a weaker, but still powerful, assault of bullets on Albuk Coldblade.*
Metal Man (GM): 10 damage per hit from that.
Tetra: "Look, dude. Would you rather help my friend and escape with your life AND get the chance to resurrect your friend... ...or die here and now?"
Aribar (GM): Time for those Mortality checks!
Metal Man: "Dieeeeeeee!!!!!"
Charles Magellean: "He would prefer death. That is the way of assassin."
Aribar (GM): He lives, but just barely.
Tetra: "... What a fool."
Charles Magellean: "I do not like it either, but it is their way."
Aribar (GM): Anything else, Metal?
Metal Man's turn is over. "Dr. Mario can cure it."
Charles Magellean: "...I want to be sure I can cure it as soon as possible BEFORE leaving this cavern."
Metal Man: "And if they try anything like that on me... my icy bullets of death will seem like playthings in comparison to the destruction I will wreak. I can try to cure it with my healing move."
Tetra: "I thought this was just a simple challenge... there's no need for anyone to die over this..."
Charles Magellean: "You had thought wrong, Young Ward."
Tetra: "..."
Aribar (GM): He casts Invisibility over himself and Dellion, turning themselves invisible for hundreds of rounds, before being heard running towards the wall with the lava and black star and globe of darkness on it.
Digifanatic: "What are they...?"
Aribar (GM): -1 STR and 10% damage.
Metal Man: "Invisibility again? I'll just destroy the air!"
Tetra: "Escaping?"
Charles Magellean: "That's it."
Metal Man: "Use magic... it'll home in on them."
Charles Magellean uses an STR check.
Digifanatic: "What are you trying to do?"
Aribar (GM): To no avail.
Charles Magellean: "FOR PETE SAKE."
Metal Man: "Just hang on... I'll cure it for you. I just had to give Coldblade the cold shoulder."
Aribar (GM): The poison seems to still flow through your veins, despite your attempts to get rid of it. Your next actions?
Charles Magellean opens his dex.
Aribar (GM): Your dex is opened.
Charles Magellean prays and glows a bit. He is healed 50%.
Aribar (GM): Albuk quickly chants something, and some scuffling is heard. By scuffling I mean them moving their feet on the floor near that wall. Nothing else. Everyone can do what they want now.
Tetra: "Are they gone?"
Digifanatic: "I have no idea."
Charles Magellean: "...It sounds like it."
Tetra crawls out from under the met hat, tipping it over backwards.
Charles Magellean: "Okay, Metal. I'm ready to be healed."
Tetra: "..."
Aribar (GM): There are still three orbs of darkness in the area: Where the assassin and blackguard was at, on the steps leading back to Dodongo's Cavern, and where Tetra was.
Metal Man uses Crystal Purification on Charles... the crystal glows, healing him... but is it strong enough to heal that nasty status effect?
Tetra walks over, out of the orb of darkness, and picks up the photon sword.
Aribar (GM): Yes, it is. To both Questions. Digi: Did you die at all this mission? Returned, Charles .. Actually, yes, Tetra. Roll a Strength check, Digi.
Metal Man: "So then, Charles, you feeling better."
Tetra walks over, out of the orb of darkness, and picks up the photon sword.
Aribar (GM): Albuk's Poison spell comes back to haunt you, Digi. -10 Strength, which would reduce you to below 0.
Metal Man: "...Digi should have told me that he was poisoned."
Aribar (GM): You don't die, but... Just fall down to the floor as your limbs no longer have the strength to support you. Oh, sorry, I didn't see that.
Digifanatic is more than exhausted. He can't really move, is still alive, yet is in OD...
Charles Magellean moves over to Tetra... and looks.
Metal Man attempts to heal Digi with Crystal Purification as well.
Aribar (GM): The sword does nothing. Keep in mind that the blade is not ignited right now. That heals Digi back up to his normal Strength.
Tetra: "Hmm... let's see here..."
Metal Man: "Okay, then. That takes care of that nasty spell."
Tetra looks for a button to activate the photon sword.
Charles Magellean: "Digi... Metal... what about this orb that Tetra found?"
Aribar (GM): There is no orb. I think he meant the globe of darkness. Tetra: INT check.
Metal Man looks at globe of darkness.
Digifanatic gets back up...
Aribar (GM): Spoils of this battle: 1000 coins, 1000 EXP, a photon sword, a gun, and a few broken badges and armor. Tetra: It is ignited, but zaps you for 5% Electric damage as it turns on.
Tetra: "Gyah!"
Metal Man: "Aribar could use that sword."
Tetra quickly hits the button again.
Aribar (GM): It is turned off.
Tetra: "Heh. I just need to wear rubber shoes..."
Digifanatic Levels up to 20
Metal Man (GM): *AC goes up by 1*
Tetra puts the sword in his pocket.
Charles Magellean: "We will pick up what is left of Shadowdancer. Then we may had out."
Aribar (GM): So there was one Quester death, Tetra's, right? And your level, Tetra? Experience point rewards. No, I already handled all your rewards. Each Quester gets 1000 coins and EXP. The sword, gun, and the bits of broken stuff must be distributed between everyone, though.
Digifanatic gains himself a Specialist quirk for robotic/machine enemies.
Tetra: "So what now? Mr. Magellean, I thought you said they were holding a goron hostage..."
Aribar (GM): Now, you're all still in the chamber... It seems like the wild goose chase is finished, besides getting home.
Charles Magellean: "Guess the only lives at stake were ours."
Tetra: "And apparently theirs."
Metal Man: "I think it was a fake, unless they decided to flee with the hostage like cowards."
Charles Magellean: "It was one, all along."
Tetra: "They told me they had no hostages."
Charles Magellean: "They spoke the truth."
Metal Man: "So then... let's get outta this dump."
Tetra: "I guess we should get going."
Charles Magellean: "I am not leaving yet. The cave anyway."
Metal Man opens his dex and attempts to see if he can contact HQ from deep within the bowels of Death Mountain.
Tetra: "Eh? What's left here to do?"
Aribar (GM): You are able to do so, Metal.
Metal Man: "Well, I'll be warping back to HQ."
Charles Magellean: "To rummage through the remains of this person's broken items, his gun..."
Metal Man: "Mewtwo, can you set up a warp?"
Tetra: "Speaking of which... do you think we'll see those two again?"
Charles Magellean: "Yes."
Mewtwo: "... Yes. Setting up a warp now."
Aribar (GM): A glowing blue circle appears in front of Metal, the warp.
Metal Man: "I shall be at headquarters. Good work, Questers." *He salutes, then walks into the warp. WARP.*
Tetra: "Bye..."
Digifanatic: "Well then..."
Tetra: "Er... wait! Shouldn't we take the warp too?"
Charles Magellean puts away his star rod into the suitcase.
Tetra: "Hold on!" *He goes through the warp too, if it's still active.*
Aribar (GM): The warp stays lit... Mewtwo wouldn't abandon anyone there.
Digifanatic does so as well.
Aribar (GM): So now just Digi and---So now just Locos remains.
Charles Magellean: .oO(Like hell I'm gonna leave an enemy HQ uncharted.)
Aribar (GM): Oh, yes... Locos, would +50 HP be good for the mission? Max HP that is.
Charles Magellean nods.
Charles Magellean: "Let's see..."
Aribar (GM): Charles: You're still in the same chamber. The warp is still there, and probably will be for a while. Broken armor and broken badges and a gun are on the floor. The way back, while shrouded with a globe of darkness, is still there.
Charles Magellean steps down from the main chamber, observing the path they used. He wonders back through the path, using his true vision.
Aribar (GM): You see nothing special as you return to the training room. However, once in the training room you see a new pathway... No, you don't see through any globes of darkness. The mist in the room has disappeared, but the globe of darkness that covered the first battle remains. You see a path that the Questers originally took to this room, and on the right wall another corridor.
Charles Magellean checks down this corridor.
Aribar (GM): Charles: With your normal vision? Just a passageway that bends to the left about ten feet in.
Charles Magellean frowns. He could've sworn this way was more than --! He feels around on the walls of this place for 7½ minutes while stomping to see for any panels on the ground/wall.
Aribar (GM): Intelligence check. It seems fine. You can't detect anything.
Charles Magellean: "Dead end. Like the path of a snow rabbit and the lynx." *He returns to the three-way pathway.*
Aribar (GM): Three-way passageway... You mean the training room?
Charles Magellean turns and walks down the path that was previously trekked to get to the empty corridor and the training room.
Aribar (GM): Oh. Okay. As you backtrack you find a door to your right, and a bit past that a passageway to your right. You also see straight ahead the original room where you first saw the assassin in. Rather, heard him since he was invisible.
Charles Magellean knocks on the door that was not opened.
Aribar (GM): You know the Trap Doors from Final Fantasy IV? Well, thank goodness this isn't one of them... No one answers.
Charles Magellean opens the door.
Aribar (GM): Inside you find a little storeroom.
Charles Magellean: "...o_O."
Aribar (GM): On some shelves you see provisions such as food and drink. On a separate shelf on the other end of the room are about five bottles that look like they contain Red Potions and a small wooden box about 12x8x1.
Charles Magellean approaches the box.
Aribar (GM): It looks like a normal wooden box with a lock on it.
Charles Magellean looks toward the lock... a lock!?
Aribar (GM): A tiny thing... Probably just to make sure it doesn't accidentally open if held upside down or something.
Charles Magellean backs away from the box. He bestows upon himself Sheik's whip and attempts to slash at the tiny lock.
Aribar (GM): Nothing happens .. That is, until the thing shatters into a million pieces a few seconds later. The lock, that is.
Charles Magellean: "Nice effect."
Aribar (GM): You can open the box now if you want.
Charles Magellean slowly opens small box... taking a peek.
Aribar (GM): Hrm... Sixteen little familiar vials. Familiar as in you saw Albuk shatter one that was in his dagger. A shiver is sent down your spine then, and the room grows a bit colder. You sense something's behind you...
Charles Magellean: *!*
Aribar (GM): Looking behind you, you see... No, that can't be right.
Charles Magellean unsheathes his sword and makes uses his left foot as a pivot point to turn his body around.
Aribar (GM): Some being that looks somewhat like Kazlo Shadowdancer... But now as a Shadow undead. The thing has vaguely his height and body size, but it looks dark like a shadow does. It reaches for you with skeletal-like hands. You've the initiative. Are you going to attack first, or let it?
Charles Magellean: "A shadowspawn..." *He will allow to see what this shadow wants first. He attempts to move out of its way... see if it wants the vials.*
Aribar (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/sony/ps1/Isle_of_the_Damned.mid No, it seems to come after you. It attempts to slash at you with its claw-like hands. It does it slowly, though, like a person does when moving their hand in a body of water. A hit?
Charles Magellean: *It does not have enough reach.*
Aribar (GM): Your turn in this small battle.
Charles Magellean: "You are clearly not an unsent... yet something about you tells me you have either unsettled business or need to find a way to the Farplane." *He gets out his dex and attempts to figure out what the hell is going on.*
Shadow
This appears to be all that is left of Kazlo Shadowdancer.
It is a malevolent spirit that wishes only to consume the living.
Their touch drains the strength of men. If you let them drain all of your strength, you shall become one of them.
End.
Charles Magellean uses his second action to further scan the fiend.
Aribar (GM): Statistical or more description?
HP: 50%
AC: 13
Strength: Not applicational.
Speed: 14
Intelligence: 6
Quirks: Undead (Immune to mind-altering effects and most status effects, as well as critical hits), Incorporeal (50% chance of missing with non-magical weapons).
Charles Magellean: "As I thought. It is a true shadow."
Special attacks: Leech Strength (Drain 1d6 STR from a target. +3 roll)
Charles Magellean turns off the dex.
It appears as if--*Turned off.*
Charles Magellean observes its movements... +2 AC.
Aribar (GM): It tries again to slowly reach out and claw you.
Charles Magellean limbos the attack. "I will send you." *He begins to chant the Hymn of the Fayth. He begins to glow with the energy through the power of the sending. He attempts a RAM.*
Aribar (GM): You ram right through the Shadow, shredding it into many pieces which begin to turn into pyreflies. It is no more.
Charles Magellean: "Leave Nintendus to the living." *He checks the bottles to see if they truly are red potions.*
Aribar (GM): You think that it IS a Red Potion, but poison's been put into it.
Charles Magellean: "A trap!" *He pulls out his miniguns and fires at each of the potions.*
Aribar (GM): Now there's broken glass and red liquid all over the shelf.
Charles Magellean goes back to the vials.
Aribar (GM): Those vials are probably filled with the poison he put into you. Or mountain dew. Either way, it's deadly.
Charles Magellean picks the box up.
Aribar (GM): You've obtained a box with 16 vials of poison. *Zelda finding items music.* Nothing else appears to be in this room besides food and drink.
Charles Magellean goes back into the passageway. He sets he box down.
Aribar (GM): The box... It is put down.
Charles Magellean now explores the unexplored passageway on the right.
Aribar (GM): You soon come to a bend in the passage, as well as three doors about five feet apart from each other. There's a note on the first.
Charles Magellean reads the note.
Aribar (GM): Darn... Can't find the right visual aid. Well, the note says the following: "I prepared Explosive Runes this morning." The note explodes in your face. 40% damage. Bad news: You asploded. Good news: The door's opened... And blown to smithereens.
Charles Magellean checks the room after cleaning out his nose and ears.
Aribar (GM): There is little in this room besides a bed, several shelves of various trinkets, and a chest at the foot of the bed.
Charles Magellean checks the trinkets.
Aribar (GM): Some daggers, a skull, a few pouches with their drawstrings closed... All in all a sparely decorated room.
Charles Magellean checks the pouches by opening them.
Aribar (GM): There are five pouches: Red, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Black. Which shall you open first? Inside you find an assortment of gems... What level are you, Locos? You find an Emerald valuing about 1K, three amethysts for 100 each, a violet garnet for 500, a topaz for 200, and a sapphire for another 1K. All in coins. That is, all of those values are in coins. Checking any more pouches? If so, state which is next.
Charles Magellean checks the blue one now.
Aribar (GM): You open it up and find a fine powder in it.
Charles Magellean checks the dex to see if there's any use for this?
Aribar (GM): Poison: Nitharit Strength DC to resist: 13 Damage on contact: None Damage after 2 rounds/1 minute: 3d6 Strength. Estimated worth: 650-1000 coins Note: Two rounds equals a minute. What shall you do with the pouch?
Charles Magellean will add this and the red one to his briefcase.
Aribar (GM): Green, Yellow, and Black pouches are left. Yes.
Charles Magellean checks the green one now.
Aribar (GM): 6000 coins!
Charles Magellean empties this pouch right into his briefcase and puts it back where he found it.
Aribar (GM): Yellow and Black left.
Charles Magellean checks the yellow one.
Aribar (GM): You see some ugly yellow mold inside of it... Which then bursts as you open the pouch. Strength save. The powdery remains of the mold remain upon your face and arms after the small explosion, but you don't feel anything.
Charles Magellean: "...Yuck." *He shakes to the left... then shakes to the right! He finally opens the black pouch.*
Aribar (GM): Another different type of powdery poison it seems.
Charles Magellean: "Identify."
Aribar (GM): Poison: Black lotus extract Strength DC to resist: 20 Damage on contact: 3d6 Strength Damage 1 minute/2 rounds later: 3d6 Strength Estimated value: 2500-3500 coins Errr... Both are temporary too.
Charles Magellean will... leave the daggers and skull alone. He exits the room. He is plump!
Aribar (GM): There's two more doors to check, or you can investigate elsewhere. Past the doors the corridor bends to the right.
Charles Magellean checks door number two.
Aribar (GM): No traps as you enter the room, but this room looks positively gothic. Tons of stuff related to gloom and doom and darkness, as well as books about Dark Force .. Oh, and there's a bed between all of the evil-related objects.
Charles Magellean: "I'll let this room be as it should." *He leaves this room and checks the third.*
Aribar (GM): As you open the door to this third room, which is pitch black, you notice a note on the door. Gonna read it, or try and investigate the room?
Charles Magellean looks at this note... just in case he walks into a bottomless room.
Aribar (GM): "I actually prepared TWO Explosive Rune spells this morning." ... Speed check/save *BOOM!* 40% more damage.
Charles Magellean: *and the second one...*
Aribar (GM): Still boom.
Charles Magellean uses true vision.
Aribar (GM): You are able to see into the room, but everything's in black and white. Lots of technological gadgets are found in this room, as well as a book on top of a pedestal next to a bed.
Charles Magellean looks around at the technology for a smooch before heading over to the book.
Aribar (GM): There are mainly a bunch of small gadgets that some techno-wise would make in their free time. On the book is a picture of... The best way I can describe it is like a ghost from Pacman, only black, having no eyes, and more menacing looking.
Charles Magellean opens the book.
Aribar (GM): In the front cover in a scribbled print is written "Kazlo -----" ... The dashes represent a name that has been scratched out, and 'Shadowdancer' written above it. On the next page reads the words "Binding a Shadow to Your Spirit" and then an arcane spell which you cannot understand.
Charles Magellean closes the book. He whistles as he leaves the room.
Aribar (GM): The only unexplored part now is to your left: The path that went past the three rooms.
Charles Magellean goes left.
Aribar (GM): ... *SHINK!* Speed save to avoid the spikes coming out of the floor. You've now holey feet! 15% damage. The spikes don't sink back down into their holes, so your feet are still impaled...
Charles Magellean moves his feet out of the spikes after they were stunned.
Aribar (GM): Are you going to continue heading down the corridor, despite the trap? Sure. All that's left is this corridor right here unless you backtrack out to Dodongo's Cavern, though.
Charles Magellean observes from left to right, while walking, to see possible openings to further travel along the corridor where the spikes are not. He walks down said openings.
Aribar (GM): Walking about five feet down the corridor another resounding *SHINK!* sounds as you step onto another spike trap... You see the training room about ten feet ahead of you now, though... Roll a Speed save. You expertly step across the trap without taking any damage.
Charles Magellean walks closer towards the training room.
Aribar (GM): And again... Speed check as the third set of spikes come up. *Impaled!* 15% damage as you arrive back into the training room. Yes.
Charles Magellean heads back towards the room where he sent the Shadow and put down the poison vials.
Aribar (GM): You arrive there.
Charles Magellean places the three pouches down there.
Aribar (GM): Which three? Red, Blue, and Black, correct? They're set down... No more baddies sneak up behind you this time.
Charles Magellean backtracks to the room where Albuk first appeared.
Aribar (GM): You arrive back into the simple dining room.
Charles Magellean makes note of anything that remains in THIS room. And no, he will not pick up a fork and call it his lastest invention known as the backscratcher.
Aribar (GM): Just a stove with a small pile of wood next to it and a table with three chairs.
Charles Magellean backtracks even FURTHER.
Aribar (GM): You come out into the chamber where Link slayed the King Dodongo. A rope ladder is set from the hole in the ceiling to the cavern's floor.
Charles Magellean: *Too much work and net losses for to make a profit. He climbs up the shaft, goes through the chambers towards the entrance, blah blah blah, 3-7 minutes later.*
Aribar (GM): You emerge in front of Dodongo's Cavern. It's getting pretty late, nearly twilight.
Charles Magellean wanted to examine that big oddballed plant before he left.
Aribar (GM): The Deku Scrub? Then I suppose we should rewind to the point where you've jumped past the middle platform onto the metal pier. To your right is the Deku, looking at you.
Charles Magellean looks at him right back. He soon realizes this becomes boring and pointless and then asks a question that has baffled him a very long time... "...What are you doing here?" .oO(Welcome to one of the greatest blonde moments in your life, guy. You've wasted 15 minutes climbing, walking, and examining what was a tree, and have wasted both you and the scrub's time.)
Deku Scrub: "...You mean you aren't going to try and kill me? ...And have me surrender at the last moment of my life and sell you an item so you don't kill me?"
Aribar (GM): This is obviously a Business version of the race.
Charles Magellean: "...No, and no. ...Have you considered moving out of the cave to conduct business?"
Business Scrub: "Eeeh... Not really. Haven't been able to find any deeds to other holes. But, ah... Do you want to buy my Mystery Box? For you, special! Just 3000!"
Aribar (GM): He holds up a box with a ? on it... The '????' item.
Charles Magellean gets out a bag from his suitcase. He scoops out some of the bottomless coinage he has in there...15,000...empty to 3,10--there we go. He pulls out a bag of 3,000. "Here ya go."
Business Scrub: "Thank you kindly!"
Charles Magellean makes the exchange.
Aribar (GM): He gives you the box and takes the coins. Will you see what it is now, or wait until later?
Charles Magellean will see it now.
Aribar (GM): A Psycho Stone! ... Bleh. It says 126 on the site. Teddy Bear. "Not just for children anymore! ... I've got to stop reusing jokes. Half of the damage you'd normally take is dealt to this bear, which has 50% HP. When at 50%+ it is ripped apart." Now what shall you do, oh ever-curious one?
Charles Magellean will use his final know-how to go back down, past the dining area, and pick up the the three pouches and the box of poisons.
Aribar (GM): You do so.
Charles Magellean is over his item limit. He lifts with much might, and returns towards the chamber where the Questers and the three assassins fought.
Aribar (GM): The warp is still there, as is Kazlo's broken armor, badges, and gun. The globes of Darkness are FINALLY gone, though.
Charles Magellean: "Okay, I think Garrick will like this little trinket." *He puts down the items o' volley and picks up the gun.* "Hmm... very nice craftsmanship."
Aribar (GM): It is well-made, but you notice it is cracked in several places. It must have been a fragile gun. A good repairman could fix it, probably. Anything else you want to do?
Charles Magellean puts that inside his briefcase. He picks up the armor of Shadowdancer.
Aribar (GM): That is also pretty much totaled. It was made up of four pieces of Metal with padding inside, but the plates are cracked and some of the padding is ripped. Where?
Charles Magellean: "I do believe Albuk or someone else will want this." *He places this in suitcase as well. He finally inspects the badges.*
Aribar (GM): Three Intelligence checks to discern what they are from the broken pieces. You don't know what the first two are, but the third one has something to do with health. Well, Locos, you've done everything short of taking over the Goron City this mission. Perhaps a warp home is in order?
Charles Magellean picks up the pieces and puts the pieces in his pocket. Goron City will have to be dealt with another time since he is overloaded. He then picks up the pouches, the box, and the suitcase, and concludes this mission.
Aribar (GM): And thus, the mission ends... And so off I go to play Baldur's Gate: Shadows of Amn.
Editor's Note: While relatively unimportant in the scheme of things, that was an enlightening bit of solo dungeon exploration that reminds me of the possibilities SSQ, sadly, did not use in my own sessions...
Garrick Fy`aar is shooting a game of pool in the R&R room, I suppose. By himself.
Tetra is going to Game and Watch's shop.
Metal Man would be busy in his office, drawing up some complex plan and staring at papers. His door would say 'DO NOT DISTURB' in red letters... maybe blood, or imitation blood? Never know.
Charles Magellean: *WHAM* *Something soft hits you in the back of the head, Garrick.*
Garrick Fy`aar: "...what?" *He turns around and looks...*
Charles Magellean (GM): It's now dancing on your head.
Garrick Fy`aar glances up, slightly annoyed and confused. He grabs for the soft thing.
Thing: "Well, FlOrence. LET's get StArted."
Garrick Fy`aar stares.
Charles Magellean (GM): It moves before you can grab it.
Garrick Fy`aar: "What on Earth..." *He looks around for it...*
Charles Magellean (GM): It does 360s in the air and lands on the ground... it's a Mr. Saturn!
Garrick Fy`aar: "...just what are you supposed to be?"
Tetra gets to G&W's shop.
Charles Magellean (GM): But... it has a miniature blackbelt attached to its head.
Thing: "I iS Oprybo. FoLLow mE, mI`laDY."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...mi'lady?"
Charles Magellean (GM): It seems to taunt you... and is now leaving the pool room.
Garrick Fy`aar who seemingly has nothing else better to do, walks after it, frowning.
Charles Magellean (GM): It is heading towards the warp room. Do you pursue it?
Tetra looks around G&W's shop. "Hello? Anyone here?"
Mr. Game and Watch: "...Do you have anything I could do for you?"
Metal Man (GM): G&W pops out from behind the counter.
Mr. Game and Watch: "There hasn't been much business lately."
Garrick Fy`aar is currently standing in the doorway of the warp room, staring at the little... thing...
Tetra: "Yeah, actually. I need a power supply for this." *He holds out the laser gun.*
Mr. Game and Watch: "That'll be 5600 coins... it needs a big power source. It will probably take some of your own energy (150 EXP) to assemble, too."
Tetra: "Wow... I wouldn't think this thing would need that much power... Alright. Can you take the coins from my account? I should have plenty there."
Mr. Game and Watch: "Sure."
Metal Man (GM): He takes the coins, then takes the weapon, and rapidly slaps power-y stuff on it, and wires it together. Then he puts it in a weird microwave. He turns it on, and the microwave makes weird beeping noises and the weapon spins around like crazy. Then he takes out the hot microwave and hurls it through a weird force field.
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man (GM): You feel some of your energy going into the weapon... then the completed weapon lands in front of you. It's a translucent, glowing purple crystal gun.
Tetra catches the weapon. "Alright."
Metal Man (GM): With little crystallic points on it.
Mr. Game and Watch: "I must go now... sorry for the rush."
Metal Man (GM): G&W runs off... to some important business.
Tetra: "Alright. Thanks."
Charles Magellean (GM): Oh I didn't forget.
Garrick Fy`aar starts off by blasting the sucker with the STAT.
Charles Magellean (GM): Auto-ability! Oprybo jumps into the air and spins a 360 creating a white slicing wave that heads towards you. An instant 16%. ...and jumps right into the third wave. roll for the effects if since it hit.
Oprybo: "Ahhh... AHHH... ACCHHOOO!!!"
Charles Magellean (GM): What luck, you find out his OTHER ability. Oprybo sneezes in your direction and you are hit by purple and orange mucus... oh, and you're now inflicted by the same status effects that Oprybo now has.
Garrick Fy`aar gets nailed... and is instantly healed thanks to the injection system through his armor He then draws his M150 and blasts the sucker with two actions worth of regular armor piercing rounds.
Oprybo: "YoU Shhoo(Achoo!)...fIre LikE a panZEr!"
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo mocks you as it hops on each of the bullets.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...man, he's fast..."
Twist Ed: "What do you expect? He is an excellent opposition against you!"
Garrick Fy`aar: "I can see that!" *He backflips as his turn ends.*
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo summons a Military Boot to appear on one of its 'feet'. He aims at Twist Ed, and blocks both shots with his hammer.
Twist Ed: "What are YOU DOING!? He's OVER THERE!"
Charles Magellean (GM): The boot disappears.
Garrick Fy`aar fires off a pair of shots from his gun, ammo he rarely uses, armor piercing rifle ammo.
Charles Magellean (GM): Two hits.
Garrick Fy`aar follows up with a insta hit from his Einhammer, dealing another instant 60 damage.
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo now looks at you with jumping of joyness. By now, this means something nasty is gonna happen. Oprybo jumps all around, a bit menacingly if one can tell, and then makes many copies of itself.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...ohhhh, crap..."
Charles Magellean (GM): Fifty copies later, they all look to you and headbutt you all at once, attacking from every angle possible. fifty str checks. 38 manage to hit you. 76% damage.
Editor's Note: ...Fifty... my god... it's so insane, but it's also strangely logical, given the automation of dice let you do that...
Garrick Fy`aar is nailed big time, then. BUT, thanks to his armor, it feeds him a max mushroom instantly and he's back to normal.
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo, after reducing the numbers back to one, decides to dig a hole again. It encircles you... will you make it again, or be a victim of cartoon physics?
Garrick Fy`aar tries to jump this time...
Charles Magellean (GM): No matter how fast you seem, he's always one step ahead by poking his head above ground and causing you to trip. 5% damage.
Garrick Fy`aar: "Dah, little..." *He growls and unloads three of his insta-hit attacks, doing 198 instant damage.*
Twist Ed: "We fight honestly, and all of you Questers resort to cheap and dirty tactics. How low will you people go..."
Garrick Fy`aar: "You're the one who attacked me! And excuse me, but if YOU wanna take on Kuja honestly, then I'd like to see you try!"
Twist Ed: "Wrong again. Oprybo wanted your attention and you accepted the challenge."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Doesn't matter if he's beaten with a club, a gun, a sword, or a instantly hitting magic attack. As long as he's DEAD, I'm happy! Fine, fine."
Twist Ed: "We are not strong enough to try to take on Kuja. That is also why we did not take the suicidal attempt to take on Ruvyn. We know of our limitations, but that does not mean we cannot challenge you."
Garrick Fy`aar: "We defend ourselves and try to help the public!"
Twist Ed: "Your round friend seems to do otherwise with his mindless pressing of buttons and causing possible genocide, but enough bickering."
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo gets back into action. Oprybo snaps out of his dazed disposition. Oprybo jumps up to you and with its little fists, delivers 5 punches to your head.
Garrick Fy`aar is smacked around by 4 of those.
Charles Magellean (GM): They are, amusingly, as powerful as a headbutt. 2% each. Oprybo jumps all erratically again.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...aw geez."
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo makes many copies of himself again, jump high into the air, and proceed for a kick to you. However, as they are about to connect... The ones in the air disappear, and the true Oprybo is on the ground.
Garrick Fy`aar tries to backflip away from the sucker...
Charles Magellean (GM): It backflips, so it is behind you, and proceeds to kick you in the head. It uhh... misses?
Garrick Fy`aar backflips HIGHER than the sucker, his gun coming down as he unloads a rifle shot for that crit miss.
Charles Magellean (GM): Scrreches at him, might be a miss... But it indeed hits the Mr. Saturn. Now it goes and taunts you again.
Oprybo: "WhEre is yoUr Slipper, CinDerELla?"
Garrick Fy`aar glances to Twist Ed.
Charles Magellean (GM): He shrugs.
Twist Ed: "...A gifted individual Oprybo is, but its still a Mr. Saturn."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...yeah...'gifted'..."
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo looks above you.
Oprybo: "WhAt is ThaT?"
Charles Magellean (GM): A ? Block appears above you. Might be dangerous... INT check to see if your curiosity gets the best of you. Your curiosity takes the best of you. (You can not use lucky on any following rolls now.)
Garrick Fy`aar arches an eyebrow, figuring it might have something he could use... he reaches a fist up and slams it into the box.
Charles Magellean (GM): The ? block disappeears, and three roulette blocks take their places, with number between 1-7 rolling on their sides. (if you decide to observe them from another standpoint) *Roll 3 d7 for the attacks. They disappear, and one final roulette block appears. One final d7, please. You break open the bottom, and coins come flying out.... ...SPIKED COINS! Three large ones, single file, come out from the box and impale you. 12% damage each.*
Twist Ed: "That, one could say, is Oprybo's most unusual 'gift' ."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I guess so..." *He fires off a pair of rifle shots...*
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo gleefully jumps into the one that's 36.
Garrick Fy`aar then finishes up with a blast from his Einhammer, nailing him with another instant 66 dmg.
Charles Magellean (GM): Oprybo starts jumping for joy that someone is able to make a challenge for it. He makes many copies, but fools you and jumps behind you, attempting another kick to the head. That kick was a mighty blow... it hits a nerve or pressure point, and hits you with 49 damage. whoops... wrong roll again No status effect inflicted. Oprybo's stopped jumping. It seems bored now. It walks over to Twist Ed and jumps into his arm. He raises an eyebrow at the Saturn then looks to you.
Garrick Fy`aar pants slightly, watching...
Twist Ed: "...I guess this means he's done playing with you."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...playing... so, what, are we just done then?"
Charles Magellean (GM): BATTLE OVER. Twist Ed nods.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...fine."
Twist Ed: "Despite all your uber-crap techniques, you still did a fine job."
Garrick Fy`aar holsters his weapons, looking slightly miffed.
Twist Ed: "We look forward to the next challenge coming in less than two days."
Charles Magellean (GM): 300 exp awarded to yee.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...I'll be ready."
Charles Magellean (GM): A large airship, which shadows nearly half of Hyrule Field, appears.
Twist Ed: "While we can warp away, you will manually need to warp back."
Charles Magellean (GM): A large purple beam from the ship hits Twist Ed and the cuddled Saturn blackbelt, and are phazed to the ship.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...great. Dex, can you get a warp open back to the stadium?"
Charles Magellean (GM): The extremely red, extremely large, and extremely loud airship, about at least 1/2 mile in diameter, at least by your rough estimates, maneuvers slowly towards the East and heads in that direction. A blue warp appears.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...wait, hold on a second. Close that warp." *He looks to the ruins of Lon Lon Ranch.* "...Dex, do you know where the owners of Lon Lon Ranch are now?"
Charles Magellean (GM): They ain't ruins. They is actually GONE.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...do you know, Dex?"
Smash Dex: "Unknown. Former Revanent Ruvyn made it cease to exist somehow. Even after being wrested from Kuja's control and returning to Quester HQ, it is still unknown."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...I'll come back and look into this." *He warps away.*
Charles Magellean (GM): You are warped back and the session ends.
Metal Man would have finally finished his insanely complex plans. He takes down the sign, then sits around... anybody willing to use most stadium services is free to, though matches are a bit too involved for me to do right now.
Charles Magellean: "..." *He looks to the left, then looks to the right. Where is that hedgehog? He hopelessly waits at the back of his head, but goes over to senor MacGregor's office.*
Metal Man: "Hello Charles. How is it going?"
Charles Magellean: "Have you been able to put up the rankings of the Smashers yet."
Metal Man: "No. Because of this." *He shows an incredibly complex picture of an ice castle.*
Charles Magellean: "...The castle. Something up?"
Metal Man: "It's an incredibly complex building made out of a very weak material."
Charles Magellean: "Your point, sir?"
Metal Man: "It's also the source of an unbelievable amount of energy. It normalized the magnetic waves in the unstable north pole, and made it snow again."
Charles Magellean: "...Related to Kuja?"
Metal Man: "That's what Mewtwo said. Something is up... and Kuja is the only person left to do bad things."
Charles Magellean: "I can hardly believe that after defeating Kuja, there will be another void for a new, more powerful evil."
Metal Man: "What if there isn't one?"
Charles Magellean: "...I wish I could say that."
Metal Man: "Kuja is confirmed to have been behind a lot of the evil which we have faced. If we kill him, perhaps we destroy the tree at its roots, causing anything left to fall on its head."
Charles Magellean: "A new evil then."
Metal Man: "We can't prepare for random, unknown evil yet, though. We must take care of the current problem."
Charles Magellean: "We can prepare. Something is up with the UND. They aren't all what they claim to be, if they claim to be anything."
Metal Man: "I thought I was all evil for trying to annihilate them."
Charles Magellean: "It's called destructive behavior, actually. Monitor them. They've been monitoring you, and one of them was able to allow a Quester to warp."
Metal Man: "Oh, yeah. That. Well, I'm thinking, if they do anything wrong, we just have Doopliss attack them."
Charles Magellean: "That's the case. Have you been wondering where they disappear to? Why they don't show up on radar? When I would be able to create the next Gargoyle Stew?"
Metal Man: "Well, well, I find myself conflicted. You want me to monitor them, the others want me to leave them alone."
Charles Magellean: "Then allow me to do the honors. That way, the Questers will still be able to handle Quester affairs."
Metal Man: "Okay then. You spy on them like old times."
Charles Magellean: "Very well. Say, would you happen to know the location of the next Bowser necklace or necklace fragment? I'm still on the hunt for relics of power."
Metal Man: "Nope... no progress on that yet."
Charles Magellean: "And of Magitek removal?"
Metal Man: "Well, Garrick's never around when I want to talk to him."
Charles Magellean: "Okay... hmm..." *He wonders out of the room. Returns to G&W.*
Mr. Game and Watch: "Hello."
Charles Magellean: "In two days, I would like to make a purchase of your more 'special' items. You know what I mean?"
Editor's Note: Apparently he didn't, because that's all that's in that session's log.
Metal Man (GM): Everybody's at HQ, doing whatever they do there when there aren't missions.
Tetra is in the process of attaching a cloth strap to his new weapon.
King Demon is cooking marshmallows over the burning cardboard.
Metal Man (GM): It'd be a wonderful but overcast day outside.
King Demon: "Jimi Hendrix WISHES he had it this good!"
Tetra: "What?"
King Demon hands Tetra a burned marshmallow "S'MORE?"
SIMBER: "Danger: Unauthorized fire in R&R."
King Demon: "Uh... oops?"
Metal Man (GM): The sprinklers turn on, getting everything soaking wet.
Tetra is drenched.
SIMBER: "Fire neutralized."
King Demon: "Thanks a lot Splinter!"
Tetra gives Demon a dirty look and goes to dry off.
King Demon goes to his own room and lights something else on fire... after shutting off SIMBER's security in the room.
SIMBER: "Error; security cannot be deactivated in sector 7G. Requires official permit or action."
Tetra dries off and changes clothes, then heads out into the hall. "Kinda boring today..."
Metal Man (GM): The hallway is sparkly fresh.
Tetra: "... Did they clean the halls today?"
SIMBER: "Records indicate no hallway cleaning."
Tetra: "Thanks. Although that was a rhetorical question."
King Demon: "Darn..."
Tetra: "Let's see here... can't go to R&R because it's soaked now... can't go outside..."
King Demon: "Hey SIMBER, where can I burn stuff?"
SIMBER: "The kitchen has an oven which is made for cooking objects. A fireplace could also be used, outside, in the picnic area."
Tetra picks up his new laser weapon. "Hey, SIMBER. I don't suppose Quester HQ has a shooting range."
Metal Man (GM): The weapon is shiny.
King Demon: "I can't burn my room?"
SIMBER: "That is currently not a permitted action."
Tetra: "Great. When I make a comment about the cleanliness of the halls he chimes in immediately. But ask if there's a place I can test out my new weapon and he ignored me..."
SIMBER: "I am sorry. I lack multiprocessing capabilities. A great place to use your weapon would be the arena... but... that's closed due to rain. Another good place would be the holo rooms... if they weren't being upgraded."
Tetra: "..."
SIMBER: "Unless you want to wander alone in hostile territory and shoot down random enemies."
Tetra: "We close the arena for rain?"
SIMBER: "It interferes with the holograms."
Tetra: "Wandering alone in hostile territory..."
SIMBER: "If rain hits a hologram, it becomes electrified."
Tetra: "Makes sense. Wandering in hostile territory sounds like fun. I wonder if anyone else wants to join my 'hunting trip.'"
King Demon wanders into the warp room.
Tetra tosses the purple crystal laser over his shoulder, keeping it attached with a navy blue strap. He heads to the Warp Room. He arrives at the warp room and sees Demon. "Hey, guy! I'm going to wander alone through hostile territory and shoot at random enemies! You wanna come?"
Julian Sawyer: *Head pops in the warp-room doorway* "Did I hear something about blasting enemies?"
Tetra: "You sure did! It was SIMBER's idea."
Julian Sawyer: "Sweet. Mind if I join in?"
King Demon: "Sure, if I get to blow stuff up."
Tetra: "Alright! Where should we go?"
King Demon: "Dunno, where is the enemy?"
Julian Sawyer: "We have decisions?"
King Demon shrugs.
Tetra: "I don't know where any of our enemies are. But we can find random monsters just about anywhere."
King Demon: "Okay then!"
Julian Sawyer: "Hmmm..."
King Demon jumps into a random warp pipe.
Tetra: "Well..."
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Tetra jumps in after Demon.
Julian Sawyer: *Checks to see where the pipe goes to.*
Editor's Note: Apparently nowhere, because nothing further was considered relevant to this log!
Metal Man (GM): *Mission start* You're all at base. The sky is dark, because it's night time. Everything seems normal... when..... *Alarms go off.*
SIMBER: "Incoming unknown ship."
Tetra wakes up suddenly. "Gah!"
Pat is up late working at his desk.
Julian Sawyer: *Is in the kitchen, making a midnight snack when the alarms go off* "Hubba-wha?"
SIMBER: "Defcon 5 declared. All systems on standby for defense."
Tetra falls out of bed and smacks his head on the floor. "Ow!"
Pat Jumps up at the sound and walks out the door.
Metal Man (GM): Outside... a large ship is coming. A very... large ship of some kind.
Tetra quickly gets dressed and puts on his glasses then heads into the hall.
Pat runs into Tetra in the hall.
Charles Magellean falls from the ceiling and smacks his head on the floor of R&R.
Pat: "What's going on?"
Aribar looks up from his reading and hears the warning so he jogs off to his room to get prepared.
Tetra: "I don't know... Alarms!"
Pat makes his way to the R Room.
Metal Man walks over to where Tetra and Pat are as well.
Pat stops short.
Metal Man: "I'm afraid it's some sort of unknown craft."
Editor's Note: Oh no. Not the unknown craft. What ever will we do.
Julian Sawyer: *Abandons his snack and enters the hall where everyone else is.*
Pat: "What do we do?"
SIMBER: "Ship is increasing in proximity."
Metal Man: "I don't know."
Tetra: "Have you tried to contact them?"
Julian Sawyer: "Go outside?"
Metal Man: "They haven't responded."
Charles Magellean gets up on his dex and locates the other Questers. He closes it, and heads there.
Metal Man: "Yes. I think that would be a good idea."
Metal Man (GM): You could all see it... and probably hear it as well.
Pat: "Go outside, or try to contact them?"
Metal Man (GM): A large, all white, bullet-shaped ship... about 100 feet tall, and 500 feet wide.
Metal Man: "Go outside, I'd say."
Julian Sawyer: "We already tried contacting them, I think." *Heads outside.*
Tetra looks out the window. "That doesn't look familiar..."
Charles Magellean looks as well.
Pat walks outside and looks at the ship, curious about it.
Metal Man (GM): Two wings, both on the rear, would be 200 feet long and 10 feet wide. The gigantic ship lands just in front of headquarters.
Tetra opens the door to his room just long enough to grab his weapons and head outside with the others.
Julian Sawyer: "Hope these guys aren't hostile..."
Charles Magellean: "...Is that a Japa--can't be."
Metal Man (GM): A loudspeaker would come on. http://www.ocremix.org/detailmix.php?mixid=Ocr00354
Julian Sawyer: *Moves towards the ship.*
Aribar eventually procures all of his equipment and heads outside to the others.
Charles L. Magellan: "This is Charles L. Magellan, of the Dalhalva. Surrender immediately, or your entire organization will be obliterated."
Charles Magellean: "...Okay, now he's lost it."
Julian Sawyer: "...Great."
Tetra: "Mr. Magellean..."
Charles L. Magellan: "I have come to rid you bounty hunters from the surface of Nintendus!"
Metal Man (GM): Two LARGE laser guns jut out of the sides of the craft.
Aribar blinks...
Metal Man (GM): They aim menacingly, while two ramps to the ground slide out. From them, two platoons of weird-looking humans come out.
Tetra: "What... the heck?"
Aribar looks to Locos, then to the ship, confused.
Julian Sawyer: "This ain't good..."
Metal Man (GM): They all have rifles. There's 10 of them each to a platoon.
Charles Magellean stops looking from the window and goes from the room, through lobby, and outside door and transforms his briefcase to his Rocket Chair v3. He heads to the Questers area.
Metal Man (GM): They immediately make formation; they're all wearing green uniforms.
Pat: "I wonder why it was necessary to do this in the middle of the night..."
Tetra: "You and me both..."
Julian Sawyer: "To catch us off guard?"
Charles L. Magellan: "So, it appears you will resist me? How foolish."
Metal Man (GM): The platoons start marching towards you all.
Tetra: "Who's resisting? We just want to know what you want."
Metal Man (GM): Two commandos appear behind them, to command them.
Julian Sawyer: "Didn't you hear the threatening message?"
Charles L. Magellan: "Throw down your weapons or die."
Tetra: "What is it with everyone wanting to kill us?"
Aribar looks left and right to see what the others do... The elf just keeps his hand on the pommel of Moonlight for the moment.
Charles Magellean gets out of the chair and reverts it back to the briefcase.
Julian Sawyer: "We're the good guys, they're the bad guys. Simple as that."
Aribar: "We've a reputation, Tetra. We attract trouble."
Metal Man: "This guy is a nutcase. He's the old Charles, duped up on Mega Mack."
Tetra: "I've noticed. Mega Mack?"
Metal Man: "A type of poison."
Charles Magellean: "Only problem is why he's decided to come, especially after he said he wouldn't bother with reaching his goal."
Tetra: "...would someone mind explaining?"
Aribar: "...I want to know how there's two Charles."
Editor's Note: I would also like to know that.
Metal Man: "I don't know why he's here, and there's no way we can surrender to him."
Tetra: "How did he even come into being?"
Charles Magellean: "Explanations you will not be able to get this time."
Metal Man: "I hear it's because they... separated. This is the crazy Charles which thinks we are bounty hunters."
Julian Sawyer: "Crazy..."
Tetra: "Well, whatever the deal is, what do you suggest we do?"
Metal Man: "Fight them."
Tetra: "Those troops look kinda weak, but we don't know what weaponry that ship has."
Julian Sawyer: "Seconded."
Metal Man: "If he wants us to surrender, he won't resort to total destruction yet."
Charles L. Magellan: "Your time is up. Platoon one! ATTACK!"
Charles Magellean unsheathes his Onyx Sword.
Pat: "..."
Aribar unsheaths Moonlight.
Tetra readies his Prism Laser.
Julian Sawyer: *Gets ready for a beatdown.*
Charles Magellean: "The time of talk is up. Attack the antagonists!"
Metal Man (GM): *FF7: Battle.*
Julian Sawyer: *Commences the battle by scanning the Commando Unit and Rifle Platoon.*
Smash Dex: "...DING! ...DING!"
Rifle Unit
Description: Be careful of these guys. They wear green uniforms and berets, and are merciless with their guns. They might be the most frail of the brigade, but they dodge like madmen and open fire often from outside the battle. These are second-highest priority targets; they aren't likely to wind up as angry veterans if any of them escape, seeing as they are strangely unemotional about death. However, the constant shooting can be a pain.

Description: These are the generals, wearing their blue uniforms studded with medals. Often enough, surviving Knights become Commandos. They no longer use their swords; rather, they attack with machineguns, grenades, bayonets, and an eye laser. An eye laser, you ask? Yes, because all of their left eyes are robotic. This allows them to scan the enemy for weaknesses, and gives them an edge in shooting.
Be careful; fighting these men with a group behind them will cause the entire brigade to open fire on you.

Smash Dex: "End of information."
Metal Man: "Looks like some impressive troops, for sure."
Julian Sawyer: "Take out the Riflemen first, I'm thinking."
Tetra nods.
Metal Man: "Weird information, too..."
Charles Magellean: "Illian, I'm starting to think that back on his ship earlier was only a ploy for him to buy time."
Metal Man: "It seems like it. We'll have to take down all these people."
Julian Sawyer: *Finishes his turn by plucking his fedora off his head and squeezing the feather, extending a blade all along the rim. Julian then tosses this, and attacks 3 of the Riflemen with a Hat Trick.*
Metal Man (GM): Riflemen: *ZOOM* Hat: *WHIFF* They all dodge it. Those people are FAST.
Julian Sawyer: "Whoa!" *Catches the hat on the return.*
Commando: "Good work. Destroy him!"
Metal Man (GM): The Commando takes out his machinegun and opens fire on Julian. How many hits? *poke* Total of 98 damage from that barrage. Then he runs up and tries to cut Charles with some slashing.
Julian Sawyer: *And he's near death! Fantastic, ladies and gentlemen.*
Metal Man (GM): 18 damage per hit. The Riflemen, following their commander's orders, open fire at Julian en masse.
Julian Sawyer: "...Oh for the love of-" *BLASTORIZED.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is killed via firing squad.
Aribar fires off a barrage of magic at the Riflemen-Three Fire Elemental Blasts, one at the first three Riflemen each, for 105% Fire damage.
Metal Man (GM): Each one takes full damage, but each one is still standing.
Commando: "Remain firm. Do not retreat!"
Riflemen: "Yes sir!"
Tetra: "Relax, fellas. I'll make this quick and painless." *He presses some buttons on his gauntlet and fires two missile salvos, hitting the three riflemen Ari attacked twice each.*
Metal Man (GM): Well, you cleanly destroy those three.
Tetra finishes his turn by gulping down a royal syrup.
Garrick Fy`aar runs up to the others, shaking his head a bit.
Metal Man (GM): There's 7 riflemen left, and 1 commando.
Garrick Fy`aar: "What on Earth is..."
Tetra: "Long story, guy. Basically, an evil Magellean is attacking us."
Charles L. Magellan: "I shall destroy all of you, bounty hunters!"
Charles Magellean: "It is pronounced -an at the end."
Tetra: "Right..."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Right, let's bust some heads then."
Charles Magellean has a vendetta so he's going to attack.
Tetra: "That's what we're doing."
Charles Magellean uses one Slash of the night on the lowest number remaining of the Rifle Platoon.
Metal Man (GM): Then he runs up and tries to cut Charles with some slashing.
Julian Sawyer: *And he's near death! Fantastic, ladies and gentlemen.*
Metal Man (GM): 18 damage per hit. *Whiff* The really fast person leaps out of the way.
Charles Magellean: "So, we need accuracy above all else, eh? This was a weak sword anyway." *He switches out his Onyx Sword for his trademark guns. He fires 6 shots at the same goon.*
Garrick Fy`aar: "Wish I took some time to get my stuff recharged..."
Metal Man (GM): Garrick would be jealous; only that 30 hit.
Charles Magellean: *18% damage.*
Charles L. Magellan: "As you can see, these people are far superior to Machine Mades!"
Tetra: "How do these guys get so fast?"
Pat leaps forward and jumps at one of the Gunmen. He swings his left leg over, collecting fire, and slams it into the enemy's head.
Metal Man (GM): Wow... so close, yet... so far.
Charles Magellean: "...Indeed they are?"
Pat: *I'm sorry, that should have been two.*
Rifleman: "Eeep!" *Dodges barely.*
Metal Man (GM): He then shoots back at you while you stumble backwards, with your fist on fire. 12 damage. Pat: Anything else?
Pat falls to the ground, then dashes up to the soldier and slams his head toward his stomach.
Metal Man (GM): Your head misses the stomach. However, it does not hit the ground. Targets: 7 Riflemen, and a commando.
King Demon fireballs four of the riflemen.
Metal Man (GM): Chance of hitting: 5% Number of hits: 0
Metal Man gets out... his most accurate weapon. A staff made of crystal. It's shiny and blue. He runs up, and first gives the wounded rifleman two smashes onto the head with it.
Editor's Note: Wait, is he using Autumnus' staff???
Metal Man (GM): *BONK* *BONK* 20 damage.
Charles Magellean puts away his guns. He puts up his dukes in Smasher fashion.
Metal Man then charges up the weapon and gives the man a supercharged ice-wave hit.
Metal Man (GM): 20 ice damage
Julian Sawyer: *A generic blue warp portal opens and launches Julian out of it. Julian lands on his feet and activates his Revenge Badge, and goes after the Rifle Squad and took him out, laying into one with a Beatbox and flinging his hat at 3 others with a Hat Trick.*
Metal Man (GM): One hit from that first set of rolls.
Julian Sawyer: *WONDER-CRITICAL.*
Metal Man (GM): All three of those hit.
Julian Sawyer: *Catches his hat on the return and gets back to the group.*
Metal Man (GM): You deal plenty of damage, but they aren't dead yet.
Commando: "Spread your fire!"
Metal Man (GM): The Commando then goes up and shoots his eye laser twice at Julian. *TSEER* *TSEER BAM* *BAM* 60 total damage; you lose two actions next turn.
Julian Sawyer: "STOP SHOOTING ME!"
Metal Man (GM): The riflemen attack Julian, Aribar, Garrick, Charles, Tetra, and Illian respectively with these rolls.
Garrick Fy`aar gets busted.
Julian Sawyer: *BLAMMO!*
King Demon dances cuz he didn't get attacked.
Metal Man (GM): Remember, that's one shot per person.
Tetra is hit by gunfire.
Metal Man (GM): 12 damage if you're hit.
Aribar: "Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): Oh, right. Add Pat on the end.
Metal Man is hit for 12 damage.
Aribar: "Gaia!" *The elf points Moonlight towards the ground and a crack in the ground runs towards the rifle group and then branches off towards soldiers 4, 5, and 6. Once the cracks are under those three a beam of energy from beneath the earth is released upon the enemies. Three Earth Elemental Blasts, one per soldier. 105% Earth each.*
Metal Man (GM): Two dead soldiers, one mortally wounded soldier.
Charles Magellan: "We're losing men! Reinforce them!"
Metal Man (GM): The other platoon of soldiers, lead by another commando, walks into the battle and goes together into the group.
Charles Magellean: "...Oh you have got to be joking."
Metal Man (GM): There's now 15 riflemen and 2 commandos.
Charles L. Magellan: "I don't joke with people, I kill them!"
Julian Sawyer: "...Jebus, don't we have some kind of superlaser on the Stadium?"
Garrick Fy`aar first tries his hand at hitting a commando with his STAT...
Metal Man (GM): One hit, which is a crit. That's one status effect... the third one.
Garrick Fy`aar does the same on the OTHER commando.
Metal Man (GM): The other commando is also only hit once.
Garrick Fy`aar then sweeps the lot of the soldiers with armor piercing machine gun ammo.
Metal Man (GM): Aaand you only hit once.
Charles Magellean: "For future welfare, I say we need to discuss to recent people who arrived on the field the 'traits' of enemies." *He goes right up to lowest number of the Rifle Platoon and proceeds to, with his fist clinched and enlarged, punch it in the face.*
Metal Man (GM): *Punch* That guy is exploded.
Charles Magellean uses this time to bring out the joyride of Mack's. He takes out the Power Saw. He places this on the ground, powers it up, and is flown away by the full powered saw. He plows into every enemy, not once, but twice.
Metal Man (GM): Okay, let's see... You unconfuse the Commando you hit.
Tetra begins his turn by pulling out a glowing green vial from his pocket and tossing it into the middle of the group of soldiers, splashing them all with toxic waste.
Metal Man (GM): They all dodge the nuclear deadliness.
Charles L. Magellan: "Nuclear waste detected. Medics deployed."
Metal Man (GM): Two medics appear outta the ship and join the battle.
Tetra: "Crap... Let's test this thing out." *He fires a shot at one of the medics with his prism laser, invoking the Crazy quirk.*
Metal Man (GM): You hit the medic. The medic sits there while you deal no damage because... the medic is wearing armor!
Tetra watches the prism shot fizzle against the medic's armor. "Crap! Well then, let's see how you like this! Say hello to my little friend!" *He presses some buttons and a warp appears, summoning 2 medium strength machines.*
Metal Man (GM): One sec, Two humanoid robots appear, and draw pistols.
Pat stands back a bit. His fist is lit aflame, and the flame seems be increasing.
Metal Man presses a button on the staff. It starts glowing. He then runs up to the riflemen, giving one of them a bash on the noggin.
Metal Man (GM): *CRIT FREEZE 20 ice damage.*
Metal Man then turns around and attacks a medic the same way, with the power of Craziness!
Metal Man (GM): *FREEZE 0 damage*
Julian Sawyer: *Hey! He didn't die last turn! ...But he's stunned for two actions. Perfect. Julian decides to take out his only action on the Commando who caused it, attacking him with a Beatbox.*
Metal Man (GM): 1 hit, 45 damage. Medic one vaccinates the status-effected Commando 2, making him immune to status effects for three rounds and healing his status effects. It repeats that, unfreezing the other medic. It does it yet again, unfreezing a rifleman.
Charles Magellean: "Why can't we have a helper like that?"
Julian Sawyer: "We don't have the budget?"
Tetra: "We don't need anyone like that."
Editor's Note: But they DO get someone like that, in the distant future... :V
Metal Man (GM): The other one heals 80 damage off of a Commando, then fires some deadly looking darts at Garrick.
Tetra: "You have me!"
Metal Man (GM): The summoned robots attack. They decide to concentrate on shooting at a rifleman. The rifleman dodges everything. The Commandos now go.
Commando 1: "Attack the one who has the dart gun! I'll take care of the others."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...oh, you've got to be kidding me..."
Metal Man (GM): Commando 1 then opens fire with a machinegun blast at Tetra.
Tetra: "Gah!" *He dodges one of those.*
