Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 207: The Glass Dungeon Part I: Diabolical Marician Machines
Date: 2:01:57 PM, June 4th; 4:46:40 PM, June 4th, 2005.
Metal Man (GM): Once again, everybody is at HQ... in the big room. Everybody's been interrupted from eating lunch by an announcement that brought them here. Some people would probably still be eating lunch.
Tetra is standing around wondering what's up now.
Digifanatic: "Well... another day, another meet in the Big Room."
Metal Man: "Hello, everybody. I've finally finished my research... on the glass fortress."
Aribar hrms, wondering what's going on. He munches on a ham sandwich at the same time.
Digifanatic: "Glass fortress?"
Charles Magellean puts on his Fire Tunic for this mission already.
Metal Man: "It is an ancient temple. An ancient one, built by the survivors of the three powers war."
Tetra: "And that is?"
Metal Man: "A secret room... lies at the top of it, sealed by these very three seals. Maricians, Whalleranians, and Solarians."
Aribar: "What is in this room? Do you know?"
Metal Man: "No. I don't."
Charles Magellean hangs from the ceiling again, his arms crossed and eyes closed.
Metal Man: "It's so well sealed, that nobody can even warp into it from another dimension. A great energy reading comes off from it."
Charles Magellean opens his eyes.
Tetra: "How do we open it?"
Metal Man: "Now then. There is a way to unseal it." *He pulls out a tattered book.* "This book was found in the wreckage of Magellan's shuttle."
Aribar: "...Wait, why do we even want in it?"
Metal Man: "...Because I know Kuja is there. He wants it."
Digifanatic: "Oh boy... it's a race."
Tetra: "So something did survive."
Digifanatic: "Sorry for being Quester Obvious."
Metal Man: "This book... is fantastic."
Tetra: "Does Kuja know how to open it?"
Metal Man turns the pages, to something showing three seals. "I don't know. But clearly he has something to do with it." *He reads the text below the three seals.* "It says... 'The one of mighty power will summon the fortress of glass. He will unlock the secrets of three races, their time long past. And with this power... he shall...' It's ripped out there."
Tetra: "Goody."
Metal Man: "Kuja's a person with mighty power. It says he will unlock it, too. Then he'll probably do something BAD with this power. Which we don't want."
Charles Magellean: "Or need."
Metal Man: "All we have to do is get to it and take it away before he can get it. It says that there are... 'Three dungeons.'" *He turns the page.*
Tetra: "We don't know he's the one it's talking about. There's plenty of people with power mightier than his."
Metal Man: "If we go through these three dungeons, we can gain the power for ourselves, without being mighty. It's win-win, don't you think? Super powers and the prospect of keeping them away from Kuja?"
Tetra: "I'd say so."
Digifanatic: "Definitely. Sooner the better."
Tetra: "So what are we waiting for?"
Charles Magellean: "There's always possibilities."
Metal Man: "I already have the warp room set up."
Digifanatic: "Thanks!"
Tetra: "So about these three dungeons..."
Metal Man: "Yes?"
Tetra: "Which are we going to first and what do we know about them?"
Metal Man: "Let's see..."
Pat walks in.
Metal Man: *flips pages.*
Pat: "What's going on?"
Digifanatic: "Perfect time, Pat."
Metal Man: "Those who enter the dungeons will suffer terrible death and suffering!"
Pat: "..." *He tries to run away.*
Aribar: "We're going to raid a fortress from my understandings."
Tetra: "Well that sounds bad."
Metal Man: "Oh, yes... here we go."
Digifanatic: "And try to beat out Kuja to some strange force."
Metal Man: "It says that the Marician dungeon was left unlocked by an unfaithful follower. Defeating that dungeon will unlock the next... which we have no clue which is next. After all three are defeated... it doesn't say."
Digifanatic: "Oh..."
Metal Man: "Besides us getting the power without needing to be almighty."
Tetra: "I see. What can we expect from the Marician dungeon?"
Charles Magellean: "Atlantean technology. Gerald, creations of his, the souls of the other Atlanteans."
Metal Man: "...Let's see... 'Machines most ghastly'... oh my... 'Genetically modified freaks'... that's not good... 'Ill-used devices of doom'... really bad."
Tetra: "Machines? No problem then."
Aribar: "Hrm... "
Metal Man: "I think that's enough stuff to fill one dungeon with."
Tetra: "Well, let's go."
Digifanatic: "I'd suppose so."
Tetra: "Oh, one last thing. Any special supplies we should need?"
Metal Man: "Hmmm..."
Aribar: "I hope those machines don't absorb electricity..."
Tetra: "Zora breathers or whatnot?*"
Digifanatic: "Reminds me..."
Metal Man: "Stock up on healing potions."
Digifanatic goes to the Shop to get one X Accuracy and...
Tetra nods and heads to G&W's shop.
Aribar heads to G&W's shop.
Pat heads to G&W's.
Tetra buys 200 rings.
Charles Magellean closes his eyes. He remains on the ceiling, unusually still.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... those rings seem like a good idea..." *He also buys 200 of those.*
Tetra then buys some Max Mushrooms.
Aribar buys 7 Blue Potions, 2 Green Potions, and hopes that's enough.
Pat looks through the items list.
Digifanatic: *...make that 250.* *He heads back to the Room.*
Pat buys 500 rings.
Tetra goes back to the Big Room. "Alright, that should do it."
Aribar follows Tetra back to the Big Room, his item patch filled with a rainbow assortment of potions.
Pat goes to the big room.
Metal Man: "Okay then. You guys ready to warp? I installed a special machine that warps us in here, instead of a silly walk to the warp room."
Digifanatic: "Oh, good."
Tetra: "Sounds cool." *He takes a supposedly "cool" pose.*
Digifanatic knows we're facing a living, breathing demon of a time bomb...
Tetra: "It's time to split!"
Charles Magellean: "...I am not ready yet."
Aribar: "No... Let's go."
Metal Man: "What do you need, Charles?"
Tetra: "Aww..."
Charles Magellean squats his legs and and launches himself from the ceiling. He turns a 180 to land on his feet. "Have you received any word from Shadow yet?"
Metal Man: "No."
Charles Magellean uncrosses his arms. "..."
Metal Man shrugs.
Charles Magellean: "I am ready."
Metal Man: "All right. Warp... activate!"
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* Everybody flies through a blue wormhole, then appears in a snowy area.
Tetra lands in the snow.
Metal Man (GM): It's in a field, a bit distant to the towering, faceted glass dome that is the fortress.
Tetra: "Brr... why didn't you tell us it'd be so cold?"
Aribar: "Brr..."
Metal Man: "I forgot..." @_@
Charles Magellean wears his Fire Tunic to stay warm.
Tetra pulls the top half of his jumpsuit up over him and zips it all the way up.
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/Nintendo/gba/Mf_frozen_in_time.mid
Aribar shivers and after taking out the Wand of Wonder he wraps his arm around him, shivering.
Metal Man: "Well, better get going." *He begins walking towards the fortress.*
Digifanatic: "Dah... stupid cold..."
Aribar starts after Metal Man.
Digifanatic follows those two.
Charles Magellean follows close by, noticing the empty coldlands.
Tetra quickly moves to catch up.
Metal Man (GM): The way ahead is clear; everybody makes it to the front of the fortress... However, the door is frozen shut.
Metal Man: "...Well, this is an unexpected problem."
Digifanatic: "Okay then..."
Tetra: "Who has some fire?"
Digifanatic: "Right here." *He uses a Fire Punch on the door to thaw it out, hopefully unlocking it as well...*
Aribar: "I have several fire spells memorized, but I'm not sure how effective they'd be."
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You hit the door, but it it's still slightly sealed.
Digifanatic: "Seems to be working. Anyone else wanna try something?"
Metal Man: "My spells are more likely to refreeze it."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... Ari's a bit skeptic... Well then." *He tries the punch again.*
Tetra: "If all else fails I can missile it."
Metal Man (GM): *CRACK* The door is unlocked... and creaks open. It reveals a completely dark interior.
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Metal Man: "...How are we gonna see in there?"
Aribar: "Hrm..."
Tetra: "First you forget to tell us to wear winter clothes. Now you forget to bring flashlights."
Digifanatic: "No containers to hold anything as far as I know."
Metal Man: "Well, it isn't my fault they forgot to put a light switch in the temple of glass."
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/Nintendo/gba/T_MetroidFusion_BSLLabTheme1-fix.mid
Aribar holsters his Wand of Wonder and takes out the Yellow Chaos Emerald. He tries to command it to emit some light if possible.
Metal Man (GM): It lights up, illuminating the immediate area.
Digifanatic: "Ah, there ya go."
Metal Man (GM): You can see inside... three glass seals floating in the middle, spinning. They seem to be humming, now.
Digifanatic: "Whoa..."
Metal Man: "How odd..."
Digifanatic walks a bit close towards them.
Aribar: "There we go... Not sure how much concentration this will take, so don't be surprised if it gets dimmer during combat or something... Hrm..."
Tetra: "What about these?" *He touches one of the glass seals.*
Metal Man (GM): *GLOW* The room suddenly lights up. Anyone not inside would be blown in by a sharp wind. The doors would slam shut.
Tetra: "Well that worked. Gah!"
Metal Man: "Sorta..."
Digifanatic: "Whoa."
Metal Man (GM): You'd see three rooms. One North, one East, one West.
Aribar pockets the Chaos Emerald. "Hrm..."
Metal Man (GM): The door to the East one hangs open, unlocked.
Pat: "..."
Metal Man: "That matches the sources... though it's still cold in here..."
Aribar: "Splitting up would be bad... And it seems like we can only go to the right."
Tetra: "Well, then. Maybe we can get some heat." *He touches the other two glass seals.*
Metal Man (GM): Nothing. The humming is gone, now.
Tetra: "Hmm."
Digifanatic: "Maybe the switch is in that room."
Tetra: "Might as well check it out."
Metal Man (GM): The room itself would be rather impressive. A floor made of marble checkerboard tiles, walls of solid, white glass, and a domed ceiling.
Metal Man: "Yes..." *He heads towards that door.*
Digifanatic follows him.
Pat follows.
Tetra follows as well.
Aribar follows the crowd after taking out the Wand of Wonder.
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmusic.com/music/console/Nintendo/gba/Rmz3kitsunebycryogen.mid You see a highly mechanical area. There are two exits, both to the East... two mechanized walkers patrol them.
Metal Man: "It looks like we've found our dungeon. This corresponds to the orientation of the seals."
Tetra nods.
Metal Man: "However, we have two... mechanical enemies in the way."
Metal Man (GM): The walkers are heavily armored.
Aribar: "They don't seem hostile... Yet."
Metal Man (GM): They each are about 15 feet tall, with two, rather large arms to each.
Tetra: "Hmm..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, this is not looking great..."
Metal Man: "We could fight them, but there's a chance of evading them as well, I think."
Aribar: "I could set up an illusion, but it'd only last for about two and a half minutes, and the robots might not even sense the magic."
Metal Man: "They appear to be fairly low-intelligence, since they haven't attacked us yet."
Tetra: "Let me try something."
Metal Man: "Okay."
Tetra attempts to sneak up on one and deactivate it.
Metal Man (GM): You manage to sneak up... You manage to deactivate it. However, the other one is walking straight towards you now. What do you do?
Tetra casts Triple Missile on one of the Walker's legs.
Metal Man (GM): 1-person battle! Tetra vs. Walker V.1
Tetra readies his prism laser for action 2 and fires at the Walker's leg again.
Metal Man (GM): You hit it. The walker turns to you, and fires off two missiles out of its arms at you. 50 fire damage per hit.
Tetra is hit by both. Then he casts two more rounds of Triple Missile on the Walker's legs.
Metal Man (GM): It's almost dead, but the legs remain firm. It fires off two missiles again. 50 damage per hit.
Tetra finishes with the Reformat spell, hoping the machine is weak enough to be blanked.
Metal Man (GM): Well, it falls down, immediately, totally dead. Tetra gains: 100 EXP!
Tetra: "Whew..."
Metal Man: "Good work."
Metal Man (GM): *alarms* The ways ahead are blocked by steel walls.
Tetra: "Oh crap."
Digifanatic: "Oh, this figures..."
Aribar: "Hrm..."
Metal Man: "Now we need a way through those walls."
Tetra eats a Max Mushroom. Those missiles really did a number on him.
Aribar offers a Green Potion to Tetra. "You did good... I think I can get us through those walls."
Tetra: "Thanks." *He accepts the potion.*
Metal Man: "Ah. That's a good idea."
Digifanatic: "You still got something from a while back?"
Aribar: "Hrm... Which to start at? That one?" *He points to the door on the left.*
Digifanatic: "Well, my Punch probably can't even dent a door..."
Metal Man: "Sure. Warp somebody across and have them tell you what's behind it."
Digifanatic: "Save your MP, Ari. I'll be willing to handle this."
Aribar: "Are you sure? I've plenty of potions?"
Digifanatic: "You never know."
Aribar: "It wouldn't take that much out of me."
Digifanatic: "Alright, fine."
Metal Man: "Just use whatever you have."
Aribar just teleports himself to the other side, deciding on being the scout this time.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: You see that it's just a wall in the way. Behind both doors is another, equally sized rectangular area. There's a bridge across, crossing a sort of electrified area under it.
Digifanatic contacts Ari on the Dex. "Whaddya got?"
Aribar sets his weapon down and opens his dex. "Yeah?"
Digifanatic: "Pardon my English... What do you see?"
Aribar: "Both doors lead to the same room."
Digifanatic: "Alright. Anything else of importance?"
Aribar: "It appears to be about the same size and shape, only there's a bridge crossing an electrified field."
Digifanatic: "Oh, okay..."
Aribar: "I'm coming back over so I can transport everyone."
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Tetra: "You sure? We could just blow the door down."
Aribar: "That's okay. Easier and less destructive this way."
Digifanatic: "It's steel, though..."
Tetra: "Alright then."
Digifanatic: "And we could set off more alarms."
Aribar teleports back over, and then Magic Teleports Digi, Metal, Tetra and himself to the bridge room.
Tetra: "Oh yeah." *He is teleported.*
Metal Man (GM): *Warpd* The bridge looks safe. Nothing in the area suggests hostility.
Tetra: "Sorry about that alarm earlier."
Digifanatic: "It's okay."
Aribar: "That's okay. We probably couldn't sneak past without difficulty anyways."
Digifanatic: "It's not like something mean and brown or something jumped down from some hatch."
Tetra taps the bridge with his foot. "True."
Metal Man (GM): The bridge suddenly spins around. It flips upside-down.
Tetra: "Wah!"
Metal Man (GM): More alarms go off.
Aribar: "What the?!"
Tetra jumps back from the bridge.
Metal Man (GM): Turrets pop out of the bridge... three of them.
Digifanatic: "Trap-ola."
Tetra: "Crap."
Aribar: "Arrg..."
Tetra: "Well, it's a good thing we didn't go out onto it."
Metal Man: "These people have a penchant for aggravating traps."
Aribar: "Hrm..." *He guesses electricity is out of the question, so he tries to heat up the turrets and hopes that whatever shells they have in them explode inside of the guns. The elf fires three Fire Elemental Blasts for 105% Fire each, one per turret.* "Pyroclasm!"
Metal Man (GM): Each one is almost instantly exploded, but they're still barely alive.
Digifanatic: "That was a nice display..."
Metal Man: "They should be any trouble."
Aribar: "Thanks... Shouldn't have wasted as much magic, though."
Tetra: "Weak things." *He fires a salvo of missiles, each one targeting a different turret for 25% fire damage.*
Metal Man (GM): They only take a tiny bit of damage from that.
Aribar: "The creators of this place may have designed these traps to expend explorers' resources, thus making the later and more serious traps more difficult."
Metal Man: "Ingenious indeed!"
Tetra: "..."
Digifanatic: "Predictable, though."
Tetra: "You're right. We should save our MP." *He fires blasts at Turret 1 and 2 with his prism laser.*
Metal Man (GM): Miss, hit. That one takes almost the same amount of weak damage.
Digifanatic: "Wow... that's weird."
Tetra: "Well... Your turn, guy."
Metal Man: "Try to take them down; they're all nice and weak."
Digifanatic uses a Quake Smash Fire Punch on the turrets.
Metal Man (GM): *Ker-smack!* ...They all take absolutely no damage.
Digifanatic: "Huh?"
Metal Man: "Something's amiss here..."
Aribar: "...Maybe our fires heated them up?"
Digifanatic has his max OD Gauge points for his turn, so he asks the Dex what's up with the turrets.
Smash Dex: "...DING!"
Metal Man (GM): Just as you scan it... They all simultaneously explode.
Digifanatic: "!"
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The bridge sinks into the electrical depths.
Tetra: "Okay..."
Metal Man (GM): +50 EXP to all
Digifanatic: "Gotta be the waves from the Dex..."
Metal Man (GM): Now there's no way across... besides maybe jumping.
Tetra: "This place is so weird..."
Digifanatic: "Electromagnetic reaction, perhaps."
Metal Man: "That was odd... but how are we supposed to get across now?"
Tetra nods. "I might be able to carry someone."
Aribar: "Hrm..."
Metal Man: "I'm not trusting my electrical device to carry me across a bunch of static electricity."
Tetra: "Hmm... good point. Jet boots might be a bad idea too."
Digifanatic looks for any switches or stuff.
Aribar: "I could probably just walk through it (Provided it isn't all over a pit of nothingness), but I don't know what to do for you guys."
Metal Man (GM): You find: No switches, besides one to unlock the locked doors behind you.
Tetra: "Maybe there's a hidden invisible bridge?" *He walks around the gap, looking for an invisible bridge.*
Metal Man: "I don't know. Somebody should try to jump across."
Tetra: "I think it's too far to jump."
Metal Man (GM): Tetra: You see static electricity... coming out of a pit of nothingness.
Digifanatic: "Yeah. This is insane."
Tetra: "Doesn't look like there's any hidden bridges..."
Metal Man: "Leave it up to people who have been dead thousands of years to stump us."
Aribar: "Hrm..."
Tetra: "Who here can double jump?"
Digifanatic: "Not me yet..."
Metal Man: "Uh... I can?"
Aribar tries to just start walking to the other side, across the nothingness.
Digifanatic: "I'd need five more attacks to do that."
Tetra: "Although that still may not help us..."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar suddenly flies up into the ceiling.
Aribar: "Gah! Discovery!"
Metal Man (GM): Where you'd notice there are spikes. *DEATH.*
Aribar: "Bad discov---" *SPIKE'D!*
Tetra: "You okay, guy?"
Digifanatic reminisces about a past mission...
Metal Man (GM): He's launched into the spikes, then launched down the bottomless pit by another force.
Digifanatic: "Metal? Care to try that axe trick from a while back?"
Metal Man: "...That's a freaky pit... how are we supposed to cross it? Axe what again?"
Tetra sees Ari's skewered body fly into nothingness. "Geez!"
Aribar would probably come back on a revival platform a few moments later I think...
Digifanatic: "There was a mission a while back that involved a spike pit. You used your axe to get rid of the spikes after it was too late."
Metal Man (GM): *Aribar comes back.*
Digifanatic: "But it would have worked."
Metal Man: "How am I supposed to hit them while flying upwards at them without being impaled?"
Aribar looks up at the ceiling to see if there's any place where there ISN'T spikes.
Digifanatic: "Toss it towards the field, if you can."
Metal Man (GM): It's all spikey up there... besides the area not over the pit.
Metal Man: "Hmmm... you've got a good point there..."
Digifanatic: "Let the reverse gravity bring it up and see what happens."
Metal Man takes his axe out, and hurls it into the pit.
Metal Man (GM): *VOOM* The axe flies upwards, carving out a few spikes.
Digifanatic: "Well then..."
Metal Man (GM): *FOOM* The axe falls into the bottomless pit.
Tetra: "But wait. Elf guy was launched into the spikes then launched back down. We'd still be killed. Just like that!"
Metal Man (GM): It then reappears back around where Aribar was... landing on top of him.
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Aribar: "Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): 15 damage.
Digifanatic: "But reappears."
Tetra: "Wait, let me see here..."
Digifanatic: "That's the problem. We clear out the spikes, but we get sucked down into the pit, down another life."
Metal Man: "...That was brilliant. Next I'll try throwing a boomerang in there... maybe it'll reappear and hit me in the back of my head."
Tetra: "I think I've got it. Maybe the pit isn't the trap. The spikes are. If things thrown down the pit come back, maybe that means it ISN'T fatal."
Metal Man: "That electrical stuff doesn't look inviting."
Tetra: "Not that that helps us any..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. By the time Ari entered the pit, he was already killed by the spikes."
Tetra: "Well there has to be a way across."
Metal Man: "Of course! Just one that doesn't involve falling down a pit, being impaled on spikes, and electrocuted all at once."
Tetra: "Let me try something."
Digifanatic: "Alright."
Tetra: "Metal, destroy as many of those spikes as you can."
Digifanatic stands clear of Ari's immediate surrounding in case anything falls into the pit.
Metal Man: "...Aribar, you better move outta the way. I don't think you want the axe to reappear on you."
Aribar does so.
Metal Man gets his axe, and throws it again. He hurls the axe into Aribar. "...Sorry!"
Aribar: "HEY!"
Tetra: "Metal!"
Metal Man (GM): *15 more damage from the terribly aimed shot.*
Tetra: "Toss it the OTHER way!"
Metal Man: "Okay..."
Aribar stands behind Tetra.
Metal Man tosses the axe into a wall.
Digifanatic: "At least I'm probably a bit more expendable at the moment."
Metal Man: "Oh, that's just great."
Aribar: "...You've miserable aim, Metal."
Metal Man starts trying to pull the axe out of the wall. He yanks it out. "Okay... I'm going to try that again." *He hurls the axe down the pit. It reappears again, missing all the spikes.* "This is an inexact science."
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man hurls the axe again.
Tetra: "Do you want ME to throw the dang thing?"
Metal Man (GM): The axe barely misses Tetra's head, cutting off a single lock of his hair.
Tetra: "Hey!"
Aribar: "...Star Storm!" *The elf casts Star Storm on the spikes.*
Metal Man (GM): *KABOOOM* The spikes explode.
Digifanatic: "Better hope the ceiling doesn't cave in."
Metal Man (GM): Then they get sucked down the pit.
Tetra: "Alright, that works."
Metal Man (GM): ......
Digifanatic runs!
Metal Man (GM): Then they start reappearing where everybody is...
Metal Man: "Ahhhhh!!!!"
Tetra: "AHH!!"
Aribar: "With Metal's accuracy I didn't want to be stuck here until we were fift---" *He jumps towards the pit and electricity.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar succeeds in falling down the pit. He's healed for 35%. Digi and Tetra avoid the spikes. Metal gets hit by them for 50 damage.
Metal Man: "...Owwwww..."
Metal Man (GM): Ari reappears... Oh no! The spikes are somewhat pointing upwards! And Aribar's gonna land on them!
Aribar: "Magic Teleport!"
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* You evade landing on them.
Aribar tries to magic teleport into the electricity.
Metal Man (GM): You teleport into the electricity... *Shoomp* You reappear over the spikes again.
Tetra: "Well, now that that's over..."
Aribar: "Gah!"
Digifanatic: "Okay, this is screwed up!"
Tetra: "Oh good grief..."
Metal Man: "Teleport somewhere else than the pit..."
Digifanatic: "I'll heal ya later."
Aribar tries to avoid the spikes on his descent.
Metal Man (GM): You land in a non-spiked area.
Aribar: "...Damn this room."
Digifanatic: "Or not."
Metal Man: "Well, that takes care of the spikes, but..."
Aribar downs a Green Potion.
Tetra: "Well, now that that's over on to my idea. Geronimo!"
Digifanatic: "The field is still activated..."
Aribar: "I think the reversal effect of the electricity is finished..."
Digifanatic tries to see if there is a certain polarity of the pit.
Tetra jumps out over the pit. He lets the anti-gravity carry him into the ceiling, then jumps off before whatever launches people off can kick in.
Metal Man (GM): You see Tetra leap in, then land on the ceiling, then leap off...
Tetra tries to do that the whole way across, if he can.
Metal Man (GM): The accelerated gravity sends you flying towards the other end at 50 MPH.
Tetra: "WAHHHHH!!!"
Metal Man (GM): You smash into the other side like three tons o' bricks, taking... 53 damage.
Tetra hits the other wall head first.
Digifanatic decides to try the same thing.
Metal Man: "You know, now that I think of it, we should have kept the spikes and used them to climb across."
Metal Man (GM): You manage to go across, but without going too far.
Metal Man attempts to leap across.
Digifanatic: "Oh come on, Metal."
Tetra: "Gaaahhh... I feel pretty..." *He konks out.*
Digifanatic: "Need some spare rings?"
Aribar tries the same thing as the others...
Metal Man (GM): *WARP.*
Metal Man flies into Digi and Tetra at 120 MPH.
Digifanatic: "I got an extra 50 in rese--AH!"
Metal Man (GM): 141 damage to Metal, 20 damage to Digi and Tetra... Then Aribar makes a picture perfect landing.
Tetra is hit by Metal. "Gah!"
Metal Man explodes on impact.
Digifanatic: *BAM.*
Tetra wakes up from the impact.
Digifanatic: "Whoa..."
Metal Man (GM): *DEATH.*
Metal Man reappears, looking frazzled. "That... was... most terrible... jump... ever..."
Tetra: "Hi, Metal... my head hurts..."
Digifanatic: "I think I'll be fine. Need any of those 50 spare rings, Tetra, Ari?"
Tetra: "I'm fine." *He collapses on Digi.*
Metal Man (GM): Next room! You see two panels.
Aribar: "No, I've no rings so they wouldn't help."
Metal Man (GM): One panel is unmanned, the other has three robots behind it.
Tetra gets back up quickly.
Digifanatic: "Just as reserve healing, not for any life purposes."
Tetra: "Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): There's three buttons on each panel. Rock... Paper... and Scissors.
Tetra: "..."
Digifanatic gets a chuckle outta the crazy situation, but resumes to his seriousness in the next room.
Tetra: "Well, let's go..."
Digifanatic: "Ah, a bit of good ol' R-P-S dueling."
Metal Man: "I guess so."
Tetra heads to the unmanned station.
Metal Man walks up to the panel as well.
Digifanatic: "I assume we either fight the robots or play them in the game."
Aribar hrms, walking towards the unmanned panel and, after switching out to his dex, scans the panel. "Can you tell what will happen if we... Lose?"
Digifanatic follows the two.
Tetra: "Three of them. I guess we play until one side loses all its men."
Smash Dex: "You lose a life if you lose."
Digifanatic: "I'd rather fight them in combat, then, unless they're that strong."
Tetra: "I say we play the game. It'll be fun."
Computer: "Rock. Paper. Scissors. Battle initiated."
Digifanatic tries to specifically scan one robot's INT.
Computer: "Digifanatic. Pick Rock. Paper. Or Scissors."
Digifanatic: *Gulp.*
Computer: "You have. 15. Seconds."
Digifanatic presses the scissors button.
Metal Man (GM): Robot 1 randomly picks the paper button.
Computer: "Robot. 1. Has lost."
Digifanatic does a quiet "Phew..."
Metal Man (GM): A HUGE 12 ton weight falls down and smashes robot 1 to pieces.
Computer: "Round. 2. Of. Three."
Tetra: "Good lord!"
Digifanatic: "Oh, that's how you get killed."
Computer: "Tetra. Pick. One. 15. Seconds."
Tetra: "Alright, I can outsmart a machine." *He presses rock.*
Computer: "We have. A. Tie. Both. Sides. Lose."
Metal Man (GM): *SMASH* *SMASH* Tetra and Robot 2 are smashed by gigantic 12 ton weights.
Tetra: "Wha?! No! I thought tie means we redo! GYA--" *SPLAT.*
Computer: "Last. Round."
Aribar: "...Eheheheheheh... That looks painful."
Tetra comes back.
Digifanatic: "That's what I always thought as well."
Tetra: "Son of a..."
Computer: "Metal Man. Pick your choice."
Metal Man: "What? Choose? I gotta randomly pick. Einey meeny miney moe... ROCK! Yes. That will always win."
Metal Man (GM): The other robot picks scissors.
Computer: "Robot. 3. Has lost."
Metal Man (GM): *SMASH.*
Digifanatic: "Okay, we got lucky this time."
Computer: "Intruders. Have won."
Aribar: "...Alright... We managed this room almost completely unscathed."
Tetra: "Almost..."
Metal Man: "I guess we got lucky."
Metal Man (GM): The door ahead is open.
Digifanatic: .oO("Challengers" would have sounded a lot more polite, but hey...) " *He enters.*
Metal Man continues on, staring at the smashed-flat pancake remains of the robots.
Aribar follows the ta---... Metal.
Tetra continues on, staring at the smashed flat pancake remains of himself.
Metal Man (GM): The next room is extremely weird. It looks like the inside of an Arcade machine.
Metal Man: "...What is this place?"
Digifanatic: "No clue. But we sure have been in interesting situations so far."
Tetra: "Amazing. It's almost like they're testing us."
Aribar: "Hrm..." *The elf looks about, hoping to find the door out of there in plain sight.*
Tetra: "We might as well find out what the test is for this room." *He heads out into the arcade machine room.*
Metal Man (GM): The door slams behind.... *SMASH.*
Aribar: "!!"
Tetra: "Gah!"
Aribar: "That isn't good..."
Metal Man (GM): A gigantic hand wielding a HUMONGOUS pistol smashes through the machine!
Tetra: "Geez. No matter how often that happens it always surprises me."
Metal Man (GM): It's like one of those shooter games... except you're the targets on the other side of the screen!
Tetra now sees the pistol.
Aribar: "...Should we go and help him?"
Tetra: "AHHHH!!" *He runs back to the others.*
Digifanatic: "I don't think we can right now..."
Metal Man: "Hello, Tetra."
Tetra: "Hello, Tetra? HELLO, TETRA?! SAVE ME, YOU IDIOTS!"
Aribar tries to cast Illusion to make a bunch of other Tetras in the room.
Metal Man (GM): *BZOOP* *BZOOP* *BZOOP* The pistol-packing person fires some inaccurate shots. And then fires at the illusions. BAM! BAM! It's like he's firing an artillery piece off of a battleship...
Tetra tries to reach safety, if he can.
Metal Man (GM): You're all out of range of the evil hand... but there's no way to continue yet.
Metal Man: "...So then... how do we get past the cannon packing hand?"
Tetra: "I highly doubt fighting is an option. It didn't seem to be very accurate. Maybe we could run for it."
Metal Man (GM): *BAM* Ouch... that Tetra illusion he hit was reduced to illusory giblets. *BAM* *BAM* *BAM* The shots seem to shake the entire area.
Metal Man: "What can we get it with, then?"
Tetra: "Yeah. Fighting is definitely out of the question."
Metal Man: "I mean, we didn't go this far to turn back."
Aribar: "Maybe it'll eventually run out of ammo?"
Tetra: "Maybe we can run to the other side?"
Metal Man: "That looks like a laser gun to me... knowing these freaks, it has infinite ammo. We could try to run past it... but it'd be dangerous."
Digifanatic: "Oh boy... Tetra, can you EMP the gun?"
Metal Man: "That'd be an idea."
Tetra: "Possibly. Let me try."
Metal Man: "Okay."
Tetra: "I'll have to get a little closer though. Here's hoping he keeps going for those illusions."
Metal Man (GM): The gigantic, turbo-lasering gun continues firing at illusions.
Tetra runs out into the open and activates his EMP.
Metal Man (GM): *CRACK* The gun dies.
Digifanatic: "Sweet!"
Metal Man (GM): The hand decides to throw it at you.
Tetra: "Hah! Did it! Gah!"
Metal Man: "Ahhhhhh!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): *Voom* Tetra, Digi, and Illian evade the gigantic thing... as does Aribar.
Digifanatic: "Well, at least you forced him to a last resort."
Metal Man (GM): The hand disappears, and a door appears outside of the machine.
Tetra: "Haha!"
Metal Man: "Serves it right... nobody needs a gun that huge."
Aribar: "...I wonder if that was Master Hand's cousin?"
Digifanatic: "Never know."
Aribar starts towards the door.
Tetra: "Crazy Hand? Maybe."
Digifanatic heads to the door as well.
Metal Man: "Deathshot McKill? That'd be a good name for it." *He follows.*
Tetra follows them all.
Metal Man (GM): The next room is full of computer junk. It's a laboratory. The smell of computers hangs heavily in the air.
Metal Man: "...This appears to be a device of large scale. Perhaps what was running those traps."
Tetra looks for a control device.
Metal Man (GM): You'd easily see a gigantic console on there. The door ahead is locked. The console appears to be in power save mode.
Tetra heads to the console and turns it onto normal mode.
Aribar: "Wait!"
Metal Man (GM): It activates....
Tetra: "What's up, elf guy?"
Gerald Robotnik: "All I wanted was revenge against those worthless humans..."
Aribar: "...I hope that doesn't trigger a thousand deadly traps."
Tetra: "Ah! It's Robotnik!"
Gerald Robotnik: "Now I am trapped on this planet, far away from even them!"
Tetra: "... I think it's recording..."
Gerald Robotnik: "I must plan... yes... build a section to this pre-existing fortress..." *KZZZT* "If you are seeing this, you have entered my last functioning laboratory. My final creation lays here... one cannot perfect life, but there was something better than life in the first place." *KZZT.*
Tetra: "Better than life? What does that mean?"
Gerald Robotnik: "I shall never trust another organic being again." *KZZZT.*
Digifanatic: "Some digital utopia or something?"
Gerald Robotnik: "The experiment is complete at last... this makes Shadow obsolete!"
Tetra: "!!"
Gerald Robotnik: "All of my chaos energy theorems are true..." *KZZT* "...It can't be... the man who destroyed us all! Sha'Fol! I must... protect my invention..." *KZZT.*
Tetra: "Chaos energy... sounds like he was experimenting with Chaos Emeralds..."
Gerald Robotnik: "...Maria... forgive me..."
Aribar: "...There is too much mystery around Sha'Fol."
Metal Man (GM): It goes staticy.
Digifanatic: "I agree with Ari."
Metal Man (GM): In fact, the entire computer shorts out.
Digifanatic: "Yikes!"
Metal Man: "This... is unsettling."
Tetra steps back. "Did anyone understand that?"
Aribar: "...Oooookay."
Metal Man: "I think it was malfunctioning. Now it's certainly dead."
Metal Man (GM): Anyway, everybody just finished watching a spooky and garbled message from Gerald Robotnik. Charles would catch up/appear with the group. The door ahead would be open.
Digifanatic: "That crazy guy..."
Tetra: "Weird. Well, I guess we head onward."
Metal Man: "Yup." *He heads forward, through the electrically moved sliding door.*
Digifanatic starts walking ahead.
Aribar: "Hrm... I hope this signals the end of this part of the fortress." *He follows.*
Charles Magellean follows as well.
Metal Man (GM): The next room... it is a very complex one. There, in the center, is something, attacked to a machine behind it. As the last person enters, the door behind slides shut and locks again.
Digifanatic: "Hello, Charles."
Tetra: "Mr. Magellean!"
Metal Man (GM): It is very quiet.... The room is dimly lit by white lights. Fog drifts around on the floor.
Tetra: "Well..."
Aribar looks at this 'something' and the machine.
Metal Man (GM): It is... a humanoid being. Blue. All blue. It appears to be a living thing... with lots of electronics in it. It appears to be in a deep sleep.
Tetra: "Is it alive? Do you think this is... that thing Robotnik was talking about in his recording?"
Metal Man: "It's breathing..."
Tetra: "The experiment that makes shadow obsolete?"
Digifanatic: "Pretty sure of it."
Charles Magellean: "I would suggest not getting into confrontation with it for until the very last resort for one reason."
Metal Man: "Hmmmm?"
Charles Magellean: "It may be stronger than Avon."
Tetra: "Robotnik said hew as experimenting with chaos energy. If that thing has chaos emerald power it could be unstoppable."
Aribar: "...What exactly are we to do in this room?"
Metal Man (GM): Suddenly, you see projected pictures of Gerald Robotnik.
Gerald Robotnik: "Worthless humans... Ultimate machine..."
Aribar: "Eh?" *The elf looks at these pictures.*
Gerald Robotnik: "Destroy... destroy... I must wreak vengeance on everything... You shall all be destroyed for killing MARIA!!!"
Metal Man (GM): The pictures then go into the sleeping being....
Charles Magellean: "Where's that line of 'All of you ungrateful humans, who took everything away from me, will feel my loss and despair!' ?"
Metal Man (GM): It opens its dark purple eyes.
Tetra: "Hey now, I didn't kill anyone! Well, actually that's not true..."
Metal Man (GM): http://www.vgmix.com/songs/goat_-_Scourge_of_1691(Castlevania).mp3 (the first one, but feel free to try them all out -- may as well advertise the site itself since there's way more where that came from. Also the song is looooong... but at least you can listen to it for the length of the rest of this entire log!)
???: "...I... am... alive."
Metal Man (GM): It gets up... shredding the blue coating on it. It reveals itself to be... an all-black Metal Sonic, except more human-like, outfitted with orange veins.
Charles Magellean gets out papers from his briefcase and a pen.
Genesis: "...I must destroy everything. Nothing must survive."
Metal Man (GM): It rips itself free from the machine, then turns back to it.
Aribar readies the Wand of Wonder, knowing they're going to be in for a big fight.
Genesis: "SOLAR FLARE!"
Metal Man (GM): Fire, lightning, and a big deathray completely destroy the machine.
Genesis: "...Objective 1 completed."
Metal Man (GM): It flips forward, spinning around mid-air to face you.
Metal Man: "..."
Genesis: "Destroy."
Charles Magellean: "Is that what you seek?"
Metal Man (GM): Questers vs. Project Genesis. It is silent to what Charles says.
Charles Magellean: "If it is, then I'll need you to sign a contract giving you the rights to my death."
Genesis: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Genesis turns to Digi first.
Genesis: "...Destroy."
Metal Man (GM): It suddenly glows again.
Genesis: "HYPER FLARE!"
Metal Man (GM): The chest of it opens up, and Digi is consumed by a huge BLAST of white energy. *Instant 200 non-elemental damage.*
Tetra: "The thing seems so tortured. Robotnik must've put all his rage and sadness into it."
Digifanatic loses his first life...
Genesis: "Everything... must... die..."
Aribar tosses the Wand of Wonder into the air and quickly takes out and uses a Gem of Contingency before catching the wand and firing off two Star Storms from it. "Star Barrage!"
Metal Man (GM): It angrily shrieks when hit. It takes all the damage, the veins leaking a little bit.
Charles Magellean sets his briefcase down.
Metal Man: "It appears to be extremely powerful."
Tetra: "What was your first clue?"
Metal Man: "I'm not sure, actually."
Charles Magellean turns his arms into blades. He jumps into the air, curls up, and spins diagonally. He extends his blade arms to attack with the Double Edge Dance.
Metal Man: "Probably that part saying something horrific dwelled here, in that book."
Metal Man (GM): Only two hits. It leaps out of the way with the others, with the grace and speed of... Chaos Control.
Charles Magellean: *30 a piece.*
Tetra: "And why didn't you tell us about that passage, Metal?"
Metal Man: "I did. It was the one that said ghastly machines and mutated freaks were here."
Tetra: "... Never mind."
Charles Magellean charges up some of his inner light and darkness and charges it into a Shadow Ball. He tosses it towards Project Genesis.
Metal Man (GM): It disappears before you can hit it. And reappears out of harms way.
Charles Magellean now dons a cape. He runs at Genesis and uses Doc Tornado.
Metal Man (GM): It makes an angry pose at you before avoiding that.
Charles Magellean returns to his normal form and ends his turn.
Genesis: "Your attacks will never be fast enough! DIE!"
Digifanatic is pretty concerned about this...
Tetra: "This is why they wanted us to waste MP. This thing is so fast..."
Genesis: "You cannot feel the pain of centuries, coursing through your veins... all is wrong... all must be obliterated!"
Tetra: "We'll end your torment. Don't worry."
Charles Magellean: "Why not take it out on something that's hard to overcome instead? And not us!"
Genesis: "...Destroy."
Tetra presses some buttons and electromagnetic pulse waves shoot through the room.
Metal Man (GM): Genesis holds out his arm, then fires the combined energy at Charles ..Well, he may have somehow absorbed the EMP, but there's a low chance of hitting Charles with it.
Charles Magellean deflects the energy with his arm.
Tetra: "Hmm... let's see you absorb this."
Charles Magellean: "You are as hypocritical as your creator."
Tetra fires a trio of missiles at Genesis.
Genesis: "I am no mere machine!"
Metal Man (GM): He's hit by the spell.
Tetra: "Dex, scan that machine."
Charles Magellean: "I advise otherwise, young wa--"
Smash Dex: "...D-----"
Metal Man (GM): ...The dex actually scans him. You get... the letter P.
Tetra: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Before it can finish, though, you are electrified for 25 damage.
Tetra: "GAH!"
Genesis: "Incoming signal jammed."
Tetra drops the dex.
Charles Magellean: "Just as I thought. I had actually wondered when the enemies would start to anticipate the dexes again."
Genesis: "I am the ultimate weapon of mass destruction."
Tetra: "I don't think he anticipated it. I think he just sensed a signal and reacted. Which is actually worse..."
Charles Magellean: "A metaphor."
Genesis: "I am above Magitek. I am an Organic Machine."
Digifanatic starts his turn with a Fire Punch.
Metal Man (GM): You actually manage to hit. He is mechanical, yes.
Charles Magellean quickly grabs a hold of his emerald from inside his briefcase to drain the anger he felt from hearing that word. He cools down and closes his briefcase.
Genesis: "...Chaos Emerald detected."
Digifanatic then is more than willing to continue. He tries a SM Punch (no coins for obvious reasons).
Metal Man (GM): Miss. He dodges it.
Digifanatic then tries to Fire Punch him again.
Metal Man (GM): *Hit.*
Metal Man: "All right, you terrible hunk of junk. Face the wrath of primitive weapons!"
Digifanatic: (very quietly) "But this makes me vulnerable when it's his turn..."
Charles Magellean: "Quit talking and start to focus."
Metal Man takes out his AK-47, and opens fire on the machine, shooting Ice Bullets. "YAAAAAAAH!!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Miss hit hit hit miss. 60 ice damage from that.
Metal Man continues his barrage, switching to his Staff of Crystal and bonking the badnik.
Metal Man (GM): *BONK* 10 damage. New round. Genesis, intensely angered at the attacks Aribar threw at him, launches three of his spikes at Aribar.
Charles Magellean cringes at that last one.
Metal Man (GM): Then he curls into a very spikey ball and flies at Aribar three times.
Aribar is nailed all six times.
Metal Man (GM): Then he fires a maser beam at Aribar, dealing another instant 50 damage. Let's see... that's 150 damage for the first six attacks. Another 50 from the maser beam. Then he uselessly attacks the place where your mangled, spiked body was with electricity.
Tetra: "This guy certainly has a one track mind..."
Aribar slowly wavers back and forth, blacking out, but shakes out of it, using his arcane energies to stay alive (aka, life loss)
Metal Man: "I guess 8 tracks were too high-tech for Gerald Robotnik."
Aribar begins chanting another series of arcane spells. The elf summons up a small tornado of earth and dirt around the organic machine, blinding the thing for the rest of battle. (Wind and Earth Elemental Blasts for 105% Wind and 105% Earth damage, and Blindness for the rest of the battle) "Dust-storm!"
Metal Man (GM): It doesn't seem to be blinded, but it takes 210 damage.
Charles Magellean will now experiment. He uses his ram ability to insta-hit Project Genesis.
Metal Man (GM): You insta-hit it.
Charles Magellean: *120% if unaltered.*
Metal Man (GM): It suddenly freaks out and becomes electrified.
Genesis: "Energy... unstable."
Tetra: "Is it done already?"
Charles Magellean: "...I won't be able to touch it."
Genesis: "I will never stop fighting the likes of you."
Aribar: "...Why?"
Charles Magellean begins collecting a couple of Sheik's Needles. He then throws them at Genesis.
Aribar: "I don't completely understand your reasoning, besides it being in your programming."
Charles Magellean: *15% each.*
Metal Man (GM): One... two... three hits.
Genesis: "Must... destroy everything."
Charles Magellean ends his turn to observe this orga/mecha's movements. (+2 AC)
Tetra: "It doesn't hate us in particular. It wants to destroy everything. We just happen to be here." *He starts his turn by giving Ari a large handful of rings. (100)*
Aribar just sighs, and stops talking, but still wonders why Gerald was so blind... The elf then nods thanks to Tetra.
Tetra then scans the machine with his Mimic ability.
Metal Man (GM): Wow... you're unlucky. You shock yourself for 35 damage instead. On the plus side, you're electrified now. On the negative side, that hurt.
Tetra: "GAH!"
Charles Magellean: "...My hunger is acting up."
Metal Man: "Did you eat a battery or something, Tetra?"
Tetra: "No. Why? Is something wrong? I feel all tingly all of a sudden."
Metal Man: "There's electricity blitzing across your body."
Tetra: "Oh. That explains it."
Metal Man: "...No... do not High-five me... I don't want to be electrocuted."
Tetra: "Haha! I am... ELECTRO-MAN!" *He finishes his turn by blasting Genesis with his prism laser.*
Metal Man (GM): Genesis sits there while you shoot the wall.
Charles Magellean: "Organic machina of grand design built by Professor Gerald. What is your designation?"
Metal Man (GM): FYI, Digi: Genesis is electrified.
Tetra: "Electro-Man missed..."
Genesis: "I am project Genesis. Destroyer of everything."
Charles Magellean: "The Void once said those exact same words."
Genesis: "He is an inferior model to me. I am his successor."
Tetra: "Model? Was Void a machine?"
Charles Magellean: "...Oh that's bull****."
Digifanatic: "Weird..." *He is stuck in a problem...*
Charles Magellean: "You can claim you are the next model, but can you prove it? ...Other than the destruction of everything and being able to do what The Void failed to do."
Aribar: "...Locos... Quit taunting the machine of death and destruction..."
Genesis: "You do not require the other 99% of my power."
Digifanatic uses an X Accuracy, for one...
Tetra: "Yeah. If you're so big and bad why are you locked up in here?"
Charles Magellean: "Oh I dunno... maybe he was DORMANT?"
Genesis: "To prevent you from saving the world with the secret powers that this temple holds."
Digifanatic then tries a Thunderstorm...
Genesis: "The world is better off destroyed than controlled by such things."
Tetra: "What I mean is why didn't Robotnik activate him earlier, Magellean."
Digifanatic then defends.
Metal Man (GM): He's healed for 8%. It's absorbed into the electrified field.
Digifanatic: "Oops..."
Charles Magellean: "Do you remember? This ice fortress was not here before, thus Gerald could not releast Project Genesis."
Digifanatic: .oO(Microwave next time, idiot...)
Tetra: "No, I don't remember..."
Charles Magellean: "Well, now one can remember."
Genesis: "This fortress was in limbo for many years. It is true that nothing could be activated then."
Metal Man: "Eat ice staff!" *He runs up to bonk Genesis with the staff...*
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZ.*
Metal Man: "Owwww!!!" *He is knocked backwards by electricity.*
Metal Man (GM): *35% damage.*
Metal Man: "That thing... it intercepts all close range attacks!"
Charles Magellean: "You uhh... were able to smack it, right?"
Metal Man: "No. It blocked me."
Tetra: "Idiot."
Metal Man takes out a Radio, and uses his crazy powers to hurl it at the machine.
Digifanatic: "Trust me, I got off worse."
Metal Man (GM): It flies off and misses.
Metal Man switches out to machineguns, ending his turn.
Charles Magellean: "...We need to set up a battle system."
Genesis: "I shall obliterate all of you now."
Charles Magellean: "...The contract, Genesis."
Metal Man (GM): His left hand glows, and he fires not one, not two, not three, but four walls of fire that affect everyone. 20 fire damage per hit.
Metal Man: "Ahhhhh!!!!"
Digifanatic misses that first one barely, but is hit by the rest.
Charles Magellean jumps first one... then jumps second one and falls after being singed. He is bombarded by the rest. "...The numbness."
Tetra is incinerated.
Metal Man (GM): It would now.
Aribar: "Melt!" *The elf extends his arm towards the robot and a blast of white-hot heat surrounds the robot, singing it and negating special effects. (Two Fire Elemental Blasts for 210% Fire damage total and the Badge Breaker Spell)*
Charles Magellean: "Hey Ari, you'd be able to heal yourself if you scanned him, right?"
Metal Man (GM): Oh, thanks for reminding me, Charles.
Aribar: "Not sure, not chancing."
Metal Man (GM): His electric field is disabled.
Charles Magellean: "...Must know... resistance of probable food!" *He dexes Genesis for his first action. He can withstand more pain than the others.* "Must know... aspects."
Metal Man (GM): *BZAP* 35 damage to Charles. He gets the letter r.
Tetra: "P... r...?"
Charles Magellean: "Must stand fo' project."
Tetra: "Makes sense."
Charles Magellean: "...Must... know..."
Smash Dex: "Assume first part of name is 'Project'? Yes/No."
Charles Magellean sticks out his tongue until it stretches and stretches. "Yes."
Smash Dex: "Affirmative. Re-attempt scan?"
Charles Magellean: "Re-attempt scan in one action."
Smash Dex: "...G."
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZT* 35 more damage. Okay, postpone that. Do your action.
Charles Magellean stretches his tongue towards Genesis and attempts to wrap his tongue around him and ...Egg lay?
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Charles Magellean begins to pop a vein after he has Genesis in his body. He grunts and screams in pain as he plops out Genesis in egg form. 30% damage and 2 rounds auto-stun if applicable. He now pants tremendously and sweats a whole lot from the forehead.
Metal Man (GM): No stun... he shreds the eggshell like it's not there.
Charles Magellean: "Sc... scan. now."
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZT* 35 damage.
Smash Dex: "...G."
Charles Magellean: "Last part of name: Genesis."
Tetra: "This is going to take forever if we have to do it one letter at a time."
Charles Magellean: "Confirm."
Smash Dex: "Affirmative."
Tetra returns for his first action. He then uses the rest of his rings. "This is insane. How do we beat that thing?"
Metal Man: "Beats me. Let's attack it some more."
Aribar: "Very carefully I'd assume."
Tetra: "Mr. Magellean? Any ideas?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. The guy is insane."
Aribar mumbles, "If only Control, Alt, Delete worked on it..."
Charles Magellean: "Ailments do not work."
Tetra: "Control Alt Delete. Heh."
Charles Magellean: "To scan it, we'll need to disa--"
Metal Man: "I think that command is only put on normal computers."
Tetra: "Maybe if I could find a point of entry I could hack this thing. But first... sit, boy!" *He fires an Immobilize Ray at Genesis.*
Metal Man (GM): ...It doesn't seem to be affected. In fact, it's electrified again.
Digifanatic: "Tetra! I was two hits from Doing!"
Genesis: "Thank you for replenishing my electro-stopper reserves. You shall die horribly for that."
Charles Magellean: "Young Ward... when are you going to learn? If you don't, the actions will be the end of the Questers."
Tetra: "Why is it I'm the one who's actions always backfire? Why not Mr. Magellean or elf guy for once?"
Charles Magellean: "Because you do not use common sense."
Genesis: "I do not know. I was not programmed to think of how to decipher backfiring attacks."
Tetra: "I have plenty of common sense. I just... thought that might work..." *He scratches his head nervously.*
Charles Magellean: "If your first Artificer power that could affect other machines did not work, what made you believe another ability that easily works on normal machines work on this as well?"
Digifanatic: "Oh boy..."
Tetra: "Hey..."
Digifanatic has to revert to other techniques... he tries the Feinter, first and foremost.
Metal Man (GM): Hmmmm... Well, that 'works', as usual. Next action?
Digifanatic hurls a Microwave at him; his only non-healing, non melee-range choices.
Metal Man (GM): *Smack* You hit. All right! You made his HP even....
Digifanatic: *...due to this hit, he Overdrives. This time though, there's a slight difference in the sequence. Three beams of light also shoot out at him... ...increasing his STR by 4, SPD by 1 and INT by 2.* "Well, no kinks in that system." Then he tries landing an OD Fire Punch...
Metal Man (GM): Okay, you manage to hit... but still get shocked for 35% damage.
Digifanatic takes the damage as his Mega Rush and Last Stand both activate...
Metal Man (GM): Genesis is looking kinda weak.
Charles Magellean gets out his dex again.
Metal Man does an Ice bullet barrage, first.
Metal Man (GM): One crit hit. 40 ice damage.
Charles Magellean: "Maybe if we attack and scan at the same time, he'll not have enough time to dodge and bring up his force field."
Aribar: "We've no need to scan it... Nor time."
Metal Man then rattles off several bullets at it.
Tetra: "Who says?"
Charles Magellean: "That is your opinion. However, I must know how much lifeforce it has left."
Metal Man (GM): 0 hits. Genesis decides to attack... Charles Magellan, with spikes. 15 damage per hit.
Charles Magellean feels more numbness.
Metal Man (GM): Charles: you're encased in a glass dome. He then fires three more spikes at Aribar.
Aribar actually manages to DODGE the last spike.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar is also stuck inside a glass dome. It then attacks Digi.
Digifanatic is hit with all of em...
Metal Man (GM): Glass dome'd as well, 15 damage per hit.
Digifanatic is on the brink now...
Metal Man (GM): Try to break out. *Fail* Another attempt.
Tetra: "What? I don't get glass domed? I almost feel insulted."
Aribar tries to Magic Teleport out of there.
Metal Man (GM): You magic teleport out. One action left.
Aribar then does the same think to Locos. "Sorry, Digi, I'll get you next!"
Digifanatic: (muffled, or perhaps inaudible at all) "It's okay! If anything, I should be helping you out next!"
Charles Magellean does tries his technique. He fires three bullets from one auto-minigun (using both takes an action) and then attempts to dex again.
Metal Man (GM): First roll attack. Dexing is based on how the attack goes. Well, those two hits manage to get you a partial entry.
Smash Dex: "Project Genesis."
HP: 1146/1500%
STR: 80
SPD: 80
INT: 80
AC: 30
Special: At half HP, become electrified, dealing 10 electric damage to all who use close-range attacks.
Attacks: 4
Charles Magellean waits for it...
Metal Man (GM): Then it suddenly cuts out there. Guess you needed to hit all three times.
Digifanatic feels a lot more confident now...
Charles Magellean technique worked... maybe there was another one though... He now holds a replica of the Master Sword he swings with a hurricane technique to use Master Spin Attack. *30% each bzzt, bzzt. damage to him and to me, if you would.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit hit missmiss miss. Two hits. Full damage from crit; only one shock of 35% electric damage to Charles.
Smash Dex: "HP: 1308/1500%."
Tetra: "I might as well at least give this a shot..." *He attempts to overclock the machine.*
Metal Man (GM): The machine begins to short out... but then... it walks over to the wreckage ..It takes out some weird metal tube-thingy.
Genesis: "I have just received a communication. I must go."
Metal Man (GM): Genesis suddenly explodes. However, the warp thing... disappears.
Aribar blinks...
Metal Man (GM): As does a blue nodule that flew out of its head. I mean...
Digifanatic is real upset at this....oO(They did it to us AGAIN!)
Metal Man (GM): The pipe thing disappears into a warp.
Tetra: "What just happened?"
Metal Man (GM): Along with a blue nodule that flew out of its head.
Smash Dex: "The enemy self-destructed."
Charles Magellean: "That cannot be assumed."
Tetra: "I don't think it's gone forever. I thought I saw a part of it fly into that warp."
Editor's Note: ACTUALLY IT IS GONE FOREVER -- probably made it too strong. OOPS.
Aribar casts Magic Teleport to get him out of the dome.
Metal Man (GM): *+1000 EXP.*
Aribar: "Hrm... Well, at least the coast seems clear now."
Digifanatic: "Well then..."
Metal Man (GM): *No coins yet* A pillar appears out of the ground. It has... the real seal of the Maricians!
Aribar: "...What's this?"
Metal Man: "...Well, I think we got what we were looking for here."
Digifanatic believes he has leveled up...
Tetra picks up the seal.
Metal Man: "The book said that if we completed a dungeon, we'd get a seal."
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* Everyone appears in the lobby.
Tetra: "Wah!"
Metal Man (GM): The seal floats into place on the center platform.
Tetra: "Well."
Digifanatic: "Two to go, guys..."
Metal Man (GM): ...And all traces of the Marician Dungeon fade out of existence ..And the door to the Whallerian one creaks open.
Digifanatic: "Well, right up Ari's alley."
Tetra: "Whallerian... isn't that your people, elf guy?"
Charles Magellean: "Will we have to transverse all of this palace in one fell swoop?"
Aribar: "Yeah..."
Metal Man: "It appears so."
Metal Man (GM): Everybody would notice that their health and 3 lives are healed.
Charles Magellean: "I want a definite answer, not answers based on observations."
Digifanatic believes he has leveled up... but he will take off his upgrade when he confirms it on the other computer...
Aribar: "Be prepared for magical traps and enemies. I believe the Whallerians long ago were extremely skilled magicians..."
Tetra nods.
