Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 217: Mental Illness Theater
Date: 6:34:51 PM, July 5th; 3:33:54 PM, July 8th, 2005.
Digifanatic can attack this turn... but... first and foremost, he gives Charles 100 of his rings.
Metal Man (GM): Charles is healed of 100 damage. Since he can't store up lives.
Digifanatic tries launching He tries launching a Microwave at that shield, just to see if he can hit something.
Metal Man (GM): Well, the shield is hit by it. Because the shield doesn't move.
Aribar smiles as he sees the shield hold... And take nearly no damage.
Digifanatic: "Oh, you wipe that smile off." *He then defends for a third action .oO(I shouldn't have said that.)*
Metal Man (GM): The ES decides it wants Julian to be its next servant. So it attacks Julian with a portal of darkness. Okay, then he starts off by shredding the place where Julian used to stand to bits. Which does nothing but look cool. Then he attacks Digi and Charles with dark lightning, dealing 45 dark/electric damage to them each.
Digifanatic: "Charles, how much more can you take? I still got a bunch more rings laying around."
Charles Magellean: "Not... sure."
Metal Man (GM): The last two hit.
Aribar is nailed by both cuts, shadowy ribbons fading away into mist as they're cut from the elf as well as taking some good cuts.
Julian Sawyer: *Catches his hat on the return, loses his red aura, and strikes a pose.*
Aribar falls down into the dirt, yet again dead.
Metal Man (GM): Dark energy revives him... He's undead, so clearly he can't die as long as this guy controls him. It's like those evil skeletons you can kill a million times ...Unless you heal him to death or something. Aribar: Act as if you just recovered from losing a life. It does, actually. But you're revived.
Digifanatic: "Oh man... I wish that Shadowy thing wasn't that smart."
Julian Sawyer: "..." *String of cursing*
Digifanatic: "I'd suggest Charles to control it to force Ari from its control."
Julian Sawyer: "That's not gonna work. You gotta take him out."
Charles Magellean: "Yeah... this thing has a lot of mental resistance."
Julian Sawyer: "So take him down!"
Metal Man (GM): You'd hear almost a cold cackle from the thing... it clearly does not appear to be easy to control.
Digifanatic: "Yup... we just have to try and overpower this thing."
Charles Magellean lowers himself, transforms his arms into Demolition Man's Destructive Bazooka and fires 3 more Destructive Rockets at DE.
Julian Sawyer: "Kill! Kill! Kill!"
Charles Magellean: *50% per rocket and ignores DR each*
Metal Man (GM): One misses, but you deal a total of 100 damage.
Charles Magellean wonders if it'll wobble like last time.
Julian Sawyer: "Digi! How many rings you got?!"
Digifanatic: "100."
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Digifanatic can't attack, so he keeps sticking to rings and defense...
Metal Man (GM): Digi is paralyzed for this turn. The Electric Shadow charges up all of its energy... and continues charging.
Julian Sawyer: "That can't be good..." *Julian pops that Piece O' Power he picked up earlier.* "Tastes like power..." *And Goes all Hat Trick on ES again, slicing him six times Catches hat on the return*
Aribar sees that Julian is a threat. The elf charges up a black pinpoint of energy... The pinpoint grows before a huge beam of purple electricity is summoned to obliterate the Quester. A Level 4 Terrorbolt is fired at Julian for 316% Electric damage.
Metal Man (GM): *ZAPORZ*
Julian Sawyer: "C'mon Ari, you don't wanna do tha-AAAAAAAAAAAAAUGH!" *Thrown into the air and off his feet, and lands about 15 feet back, out of lives*
Digifanatic: "Oh great... now it's down to the two of us."
Charles Magellean: "...I really wanted to sell this shield. Would've fetched a pretty penny... but..." *He really has no choice since Julian is a powerhouse. He uses the Shield of Nyrah on his first action.*
Metal Man (GM): For who? FYI: Digi, Paralysis wore off of you. After it made you miss that turn. So you get this turn.
Charles Magellean: "Digi, I thank you for the rings, but I cannot wonder. Should I use this shield on myself... or attempt to protect you?"
Digifanatic: "You should use it for yourself. I've still got a load of lives. But Julian... him, please. I don't care if he loses his Overdrive or not by dying..."
Charles Magellean: "Forget it! I cannot stand this shield. If I can't sell it... I might as well use it on a monster!"
Digifanatic: "No! Just use it on yourself! Look, longer we stand here, more of a target we're gonna be."
Charles Magellean uses it on himself. He will risk the GM's words.
Metal Man (GM): Charles is shielded by a silvery shield.
Charles Magellean uses his second action to Eye Laser Aribar.
Metal Man (GM): ...*CRIT OF DOOM*
Charles Magellean: *20 damage and loses an action*
Metal Man (GM): You kinda, like, shoot down Aribar ala power rangers style. He loses TWO actions and takes 40 damage. He's blasted down, sparks flying off of him.
Digifanatic: "Whoa."
Metal Man (GM): You wonder how you made your eye do that.
Charles Magellean: "Geez."
Metal Man (GM): Anything else?
Charles Magellean launches one last Destructive rocket
Metal Man (GM): Your target? Well, wait. That's obvious. The Shadow takes a blasting.
Aribar shakes his head and goes to lean on his arm, reeling from the eye laser.
Metal Man (GM): The rings... they glow.
Digifanatic: "Well taken care of, Charles. Huh?" *He looks at his rings.*
Metal Man (GM): Perhaps you should use them on something dead.
Digifanatic: "These things trying to tell me something..." *He tosses them over to Julian. He uses them on Ari instead.*
Metal Man (GM): Uhhh... for the sense of NOT having you pointlessly get everyone killed, I'll say you threw them at Ari.
Aribar gains back another life I believe... Which is pointless at this time.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar is healed to death! *Death*
Charles Magellean: "Ari does seem paler than usual, so I guess Aribar..."
Metal Man (GM): He's now back at being normal dead.
Charles Magellean: "...OH CRUD. They might make him rise undead again!"
Aribar dies then... Awww...
Digifanatic: "Well, that's a partial relief."
Metal Man (GM): Anything else, Digi?
Digifanatic: "Now..." *He then uses another Microwave (his only real option) on the ES.*
Metal Man (GM): You hurl it off the cliff. It makes a pretty explosion when it hits the ocean.
Digifanatic then defends again.
Metal Man (GM): ES, now full of power, takes out his wrath on Digi. He deals 270 electric/dark damage with some mega lightning.
Digifanatic: *Loses first life*
Metal Man (GM): Since he was all charged up, he had no time to undead-ify anyone.
Charles Magellean cannot see what the point of all this is.
Metal Man (GM): You seem to be barely holding up against this menace... but being surrounded by dead people isn't very heartening.
Charles Magellean: "Excuse me! Red eye; can you at least allow us to understand what you're doing?"
Metal Man (GM): It... stares at you.
Charles Magellean: "This thing is so powerful... Like a recent evil... Did you by chance becomed unsealed by a small box?"
Metal Man (GM): It merely stares at you. That could mean yes, no, or "I'm gonna kiiiiiill you."
Charles Magellean: "Blink once for yes, blink twice for no."
Metal Man (GM): It continues staring at you.
Charles Magellean: "...Alrighty, blasts to the eyes it is." *He fires 3 blasts at it.*
Metal Man (GM): Miss hit hit.
Charles Magellean: *100 damage.* "It's kinda rude to stare, don'tcha know?"
Metal Man (GM): It continues staring at you.
Digifanatic appears back on the revival platform.
Metal Man (GM): Especially at the Star Rod.
Digifanatic then tries setting the Shadow up with a Feint.
Charles Magellean: "..."
Metal Man (GM): You... miss for real, instead of faking a miss.
Digifanatic tries something else; Quake Smashing a Fire Punch to the Shadow.
Metal Man (GM): No, I see a bad roll. You get yer fist stuck in the ground. AC is halved.
Digifanatic: "Just great..."
Metal Man (GM): Until next round. You gave the ground a good punching, though. The Electric Shadow appears bored with reviving people. Either that or low on magical energy. It decides instead to shock Locos a lot with lightning, dealing 135 electric/dark damage.
Digifanatic: .oO(This has been the worse battle for me, offensive wise, in a long time.)
Metal Man (GM): You use the power of the being knocked out by lightning.
Digifanatic takes a look around..."Oh, snap it all."
Metal Man (GM): Digi: Your turn. The Star Rod is laying on Charles's back.
Digifanatic takes a look at the Rod. He slowly picks it up. "Just hope he doesn't get mad."
Metal Man (GM): You can use it to either hurt something or heal it... so it seems.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... more men or slowly take the juice outta the Shadow?" *He has a hard time determining what's better for him.*
Metal Man (GM): *D-D-D-DILLEMMA! Jeopardy music*
Digifanatic tries pointing it at Ari... hoping that he will be healed for his side instead of the Shadow's. ...but doesn't quite use it yet. He closes his eyes incase this goes wrong... and uses it on Ari, hoping that nothing goes wrong and that he's back on our side. "Just hope... this works."
Metal Man (GM): Healing of doom! ...I mean Aribar is revived. Your wish works; draining 5 SP from the wand.
Digifanatic: "Oh thank goodness." "Alright, now that that's settled..."
Metal Man (GM): As usual, Locos's oversize collection of shiny objects saves the day.
Aribar groans... "Uhhh... Where am I? This doesn't look like heaven."
Metal Man (GM): Of course, it might be nice to heal him.
Digifanatic: "Great... Julian or Charles?" *He uses it on Charles.*
Metal Man (GM): You find yourself unable to fully heal him, but Charles is now 100 HP away from death instead of being dead. The wand loses 5 more SP.
Digifanatic: "Well, that's a bit of a relief."
Julian Sawyer: *And so Julian remains dead. What else is new?*
Digifanatic's turn ends.
Aribar looks around and shakes his head...
Charles Magellean stands up... shaky...
Digifanatic: "Don't worry Ari. You aren't possessed by that... thing."
Metal Man (GM): That Shadow guy is getting angry. I mean, like, angry enough to melt things by looking at them.
Aribar: "What just happened? ... Possessed? Eh?"
Charles Magellean: "...Digi..."
Aribar then remembers before he died that they were fighting that shadowy thing... The elf stands up.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I'll give it back." *He quickly gives it back to Charles.*
Aribar: "Oh... Now I kinda remember... How the heck was I revived?"
Charles Magellean: "...What did you use?"
Digifanatic: "Charles' Star Rod."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: Your mouth tastes like McDonalds. Like, you know, really bad meat.
Charles Magellean: "Now I mean what power?? I only know of five powers that it has!"
Digifanatic: "Some revival or healing power."
Aribar just shakes his head and fires a white ball at the shadowy man. It hits him and explodes into holy light... A Holy Elemental Blast for 87% Light damage... Then the elf fires a Prismatic Ray at the evil shadow! Which color shall it be?
Charles Magellean: "...revival... ...I'll see if I can use it in the future."
Metal Man (GM): You freeze it good. And you deal 174 damage from the holy death. The ray goes through it, and hits the electric fence. The electric fence around the hut is sent to the x-zone. Thus, it is gone.
Digifanatic: "Alright!"
Metal Man (GM): The monster seems sorta shocked how you did that, but doesn't appear to be too worried. *bad pun*
Aribar: "Huh... That was an interesting turn of events..."
Charles Magellean: "...Who here can use Earth? I think this thing is weak against it."
Digifanatic: "Don't thank me, thank Charles. He is the owner of the Rod."
Charles Magellean smiles and stands proud.
Aribar: "I have some earth-aligned magics from my days as a druid..."
Digifanatic: "Now Ari... let's just hope you can survive one more turn... One good EEB..."
Charles Magellean ponders... He prays... he wishes that somehow the Star Rod could drain the energies or absorb the force of this enemy somehow?
Metal Man (GM): Nah, closest to that is casting healing spells at it.
Charles Magellean cannot risk wasting more of the Star Rod's power.
Digifanatic: "Now just slam that sucker with something."
Charles Magellean: "I will try one more time!" *He uses Healing on DE.*
Metal Man (GM): The magical dice of doom hate you.
Aribar: "Why are you HEALING him, Locos?!"
Digifanatic: "Holy against Dark perhaps?"
Charles Magellean: "When Digi used rings on you, you were snapped out of its control."
Digifanatic: "Correct."
Charles Magellean: "I'm assuming that the Darkness itself is also undead in some way." *He uses his final action to rocket it.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Charles Magellean: "In the event it heals itself with its electric side, I can offset the healing with a rocket."
Aribar: "... What do you mean 'control'?"
Charles Magellean: "You unconscious. It turned you undead then you were controlled by it."
Julian Sawyer: *Would be smoking at this point, thanks to that Terrorbolt*
Digifanatic: "When you lost that life, it used some attack to force it under your control, and attack us instead of it." *Now that the barrier is taken out, he is free to Fire Punch that Shadow thing without using a Quake Smash...*
Aribar: "... Not again... "
Metal Man (GM): You fire punch. Yup. 'Cept you set your own hand on fire. You take damage as if you fire punched yourself.
Digifanatic: "Oh that stupid little..."
Aribar: "Why do I always have to be controlled by the forces of Darkness?! First the Dark Sword, then that Dark Cube from Skyhigh, then the Dark Sword some more..."
Digifanatic takes 12% Fire... He then tries a Super Mario punch...
Metal Man (GM): You take 41 dark damage from touching it as well. You get coins.
Digifanatic: "Okay..."
Metal Man (GM): Anything else?
Digifanatic tries Quake Smash another one of those SM Punches.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. The Dark Shadow uses his turn, blasting Digi, Aribar, and Locos for 90% electric/dark damage apiece ...Aribar only takes 45 damage.
Digifanatic: *Loses second life*
Aribar: "Gah! That does it..." *He drops his shortsword and takes out the Wand of Wonder, activating its Special mode. He then fires another Holy Elemental Blast at the figure for 87% Holy damage.*
Metal Man (GM): 172 total damage. Oh... thanks for reminding me. You only deal 44 damage. Anything else?
Charles Magellean tries one last attempt to Heal DESBAJ... the enemy we've been fighting for over two hours.
Digifanatic: "This is insane..."
Metal Man (GM): The coin which always lands on heads!
Digifanatic: "You're a very bold man, Charles. No offense."
Charles Magellean: *Deja-vu and the sensation that you've done something before. 50 damage*
Aribar: "..."
Digifanatic: "How much juice in that Star Rod?"
Charles Magellean: "It's gonna take a while for its power to recharge. I'd give it... a couple minutes."
Digifanatic: "Ah... I was thinking bring Julian back on his feet."
Julian Sawyer: *Still dead and smoking*
Digifanatic lands back on the battlefield... He is stuck on choices. He tries his last Quake Smash with a Super Mario Punch...
Metal Man (GM): You hit... And take 75 dark damage. Oh, right. Quake smash. Well, you also cause Julian's corpse to catch on fire.
Julian Sawyer: *Corpse is smoking even more now*
Digifanatic then uses his last action to cover Charles' back...
Julian Sawyer: *Someone might want to put that out*
Digifanatic: "Might be my last hurrah, but better me than you."
Charles Magellean: "Thank you, Digi."
Digifanatic: "We'll see what happens."
Metal Man (GM): The electrical fiend moves and decides to revive the now burning Julian. However, he is sliced in two by a portal.
Digifanatic: "At least you will... oh you must be kidding."
Charles Magellean: "WHAT THE!?---"
???: "Get yer shadowy behind off my property!"
Aribar blinks... "Now what?"
Metal Man (GM): An old lizard with a weird, gnarled cane appears, beating the corpse of the monster.
Digifanatic: .oO(And here comes our co-protagonist.)
???: "Worthless whippersnapper, walling off my cottage with that yellow stuff!"
Julian Sawyer: *Still on fire. I'd be surprised if there's anything left of him*
Metal Man (GM): 2000 EXP to all fighters... well, 'cept Julian, who's dead.
Charles Magellean: "...I sincerely hope it was severely weakened."
Metal Man (GM): Julian gets 1000 EXP instead.
???: "Oh yeah, you halved that thingy's energy... then I sliced it in two!"
Charles Magellean: "...Oh, I'm sorry." *He bows.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is, indeed, revived.
Aribar downs another Blue Potion and casts Revive on Julian. The elf then looks for the star board.
???: "Now then, you must be wondering who I aaaam, aren't you?"
Charles Magellean: "We were sent by Elder Kales Brando to investigate ruins when this shadow abducted. And yes."
???: "I'm known as the elder around these parts... Kales Brando? Great gasparini! I thought he was dead!"
Julian Sawyer's burning corpse sinks into a generic blue warp portal, then is spat back out, all shiney and not dead "Whoa!"
Charles Magellean: "He is alive sir. May we know your name?"
Elder: "I'm da elder! Nuttin else."
Julian Sawyer: *Coughs after landing and gets up*
Elder: "I arrange transportation for weird people like yerselfs!"
Julian Sawyer: "'Bout time..." *Walks over to Aribar*
Aribar blinks and looks at Julian before looking back to the Elder.
Elder: "You should get back to tha village, really. I'm sure he's worried to poverty about you suffering salmon!"
Julian Sawyer: *Smacks Aribar upside the head*
Aribar: "We can't... Ow! What was that for?!"
Julian Sawyer: "That's for Terrorboltin' me."
Elder: "That looks fun! Leeet me try."
Charles Magellean: "As much as I respect what you believe... I am doubting the integrity of that statement."
Digifanatic: "Anyways..."
Metal Man (GM): The Elder hits Aribar upside the head with the gnarled cane.
Elder: "Now theeeen... you want back to the village faster than walking, yeaaa?"
Aribar: "Gah! No we don't... Ow..."
Charles Magellean: "Yes sah."
Julian Sawyer: "That'd be appreciated..."
Charles Magellean: "Actually, where we were last is also preferable."
Aribar casts Shield on himself and backs away from the others. "We need to get back to a broken bridge... No idea where that is in relation to here, though."
Charles Magellean: "Elder Kales would be mad if he found out we were at the village... unless it's your village?"
Digifanatic: "Or at least our village."
Charles Magellean: "By the way, what village are you talking about?"
Elder: "ELDER Kales? Has it beeen thaat long? I'm the only elder around hear, whippersnappers! That village isn't mine, it's cursed!"
Aribar: "Oh? How's that?"
Elder: "I moved out here when they released the curse of the ruins."
Charles Magellean: "Yes, he is an elder now."
Digifanatic: "A curse of ruins..."
Elder: "From what I hear, everyone in the village besides those who were twisted in the head died."
Aribar sighs...
Julian Sawyer: "Didn't we fix that?"
Elder: "Fixx whaaat?"
Julian Sawyer: "That curse thingy."
Elder: "You can't fix that! You're crazy talking. Anyway... you want back to that... forsaken village?"
Aribar: "Not yet..."
Elder: "I've got a nifty trick up my sleeves..."
Aribar: "Do you know of a canyon near the village?"
Julian Sawyer: "That's where we're living for the moement..."
Charles Magellean: "Is it where we were last?"
Elder: "That canyon? Yeah, I cut that bridge down... to keep Kales from unleashing the cuuuurse there too... Don't tell me... you were there tooo?"
Aribar: "... We're doing jobs for Kales. Going into and exploring ruins."
Julian Sawyer: "Oh, do you know what was up with those Star Boards?"
Digifanatic: "Okay, now this is screwed up. Our guide lured us hook, line, and sinker..."
Elder: "Eh, he isn't all bad... and... star whaaat? You obviously aren't dead... ...make sure to find out how to fix that jinxy curse!"
Julian Sawyer: "We will... I think."
Charles Magellean: "We will go there."
Elder: "Good... now then, you want home?"
Digifanatic: "Sure thing."
Elder: "I know Kales is back there... yes..."
Metal Man (GM): The Elder waves his hand. A sparkly golden portal opens up.
Julian Sawyer: "Ooooo..."
Elder: "These things I use to go where I please... warp spots dot that land."
Digifanatic: "Nice and shiny..."
Elder: "I'll make sure to enable them for you, though they only will activate when you see them!"
Julian Sawyer: "...'Kay..."
Digifanatic: "It's definitely a lot better than being sucked through a computer, I'll say that..."
Aribar: "... I just know there are so many questions to ask... And I know that Kales will be mad at us for something when we get back..."
Elder: "...That and those ones you already looked at without knowing what they were. Oh, no. That bridge thing he wanted fixed?"
Aribar nods.
Charles Magellean: "Ari fixed it."
Aribar: "No I didn't. I didn't get the chance."
Elder: "Well... I kinda fixed it while you fought that thing."
Digifanatic: "Oh, that's a relief."
Julian Sawyer: "...Okay then. Thanks, I guess.:."
Elder: "I saw it in that bloody red portal you came in, after all."
Aribar: "... Thanks... Oh, should we mention you to Kales at all?"
Charles Magellean: "That might be wise to know."
Elder: "No, no. Don't tell him anything. He thinks I'm dead, it should staaay that way!"
Digifanatic: "I expected as much... Don't ask, don't tell..."
Julian Sawyer: "Well, I guess we'll be going, then. Thanks for the help."
Elder: "Yaaar all welcome."
Digifanatic: "Yes. definitely thank you. At least we're starting to know this place."
Metal Man (GM): He waves at you. Then he kicks the corpse of that... thing... off a cliff.
Julian Sawyer: *Waves and heads through the portal*
Digifanatic follows Julian.
Metal Man (GM): *Mission end*
Aribar sighs and goes to enter the portal.
Metal Man (GM): We'll deal with the part when you meet Kales next mission. *Next Mission* Well, basically, from last time, you were warped back home, wondering why the Elder's sayings conflicted with the sayings of Kales. Home being your huts. You all reappear in the village, along with those three weird Star-boards you pillaged from the ruins.
Julian Sawyer: "...Hey, Star Board." *Picks one up*
Metal Man (GM): Kales looks a cross between ready to kill you, ready to run around and start shouting in excitement from those 'artifacts', and worried at the same time.
Kales Brando: "...You survived! ...And you have relics... but you didn't fix the bridge! But someone else did..."
Julian Sawyer: "But the bridge is fixed, right?"
Kales Brando: "...Yes... but I am afraid those are not the relics I requested."
Julian Sawyer: "They're still Relics, right?"
Azure: *Face drops having a feeling this means go back and try again.*
Kales Brando: "Yes, which means you shouldn't use them. I will pay you for the meagre things you did."
Charles Magellean: "We were sidetracked by a demon of Shadow powers and lightning."
Julian Sawyer: "I think Metal's the only one who knows how too..."
Metal Man (GM): All Questers gain: +5000 coins
Julian Sawyer: "Sweet, payment!"
Charles Magellean: "Thank you; now, with a combined effort, it was later destroyed and we were able to come back here."
Kales Brando: "Now then. You reappeared from a warp... ... ...Clearly, the Elder's work."
Metal Man (GM): He suddenly stands a bit straighter.
Charles Magellean: "We were able to travel through it, yes. There a ...problem of some kind?"
Kales Brando: "I'm not as old as he is, and he isn't dead, so clearly *Cough* I would defer to him. Except he isn't here... ...Those warps. They can take you almost anywhere! ..."
Julian Sawyer: "Yeah, he said somethin' about that."
Kales Brando: "...There is an area of ruins which used to be pristine and perfect. Then they were swallowed by the sea."
Charles Magellean: "Ya igit, Elder said not speak to Kales about that!"
Julian Sawyer: "... He already knows, what's the harm done?"
Kales Brando: "Well, you could have denied he existed. Those warps aren't exactly always caused by him."
Charles Magellean snorts out a, "Hmph."
Julian Sawyer: "But you wouldn't believe that, would you?"
Azure: "So there's an area of the ruins completely submerged in water?"
Kales Brando: "Water under the bridge between you and the elder. Yes... but part of it is under a massive pocket of air."
Julian Sawyer: "So it's accessible without the use of a Zora Breather?"
Kales Brando: "A what?"
Charles Magellean: "Igit!"
Kales Brando: "None of us can swim, let alone get down there."
Julian Sawyer: "Nevermind..."
Digifanatic: "Something we used to have to help us breathe underwater, Kales."
Charles Magellean: "We are not the best in that either."
Kales Brando: "It will not be much useful there... I hear that fast currents are in the water. Now then. You may get some supplies... then march to the elder. Convince him to send you there. I don't care how, just do it."
Charles Magellean: "Aye, I am now even more ensured that I won't like it."
Kales Brando: "The Elder is that way:." *He points North*
Julian Sawyer: "See? Told you it didn't matter if I said anything or not."
Kales Brando: "And if you come back saying you can't convince him... well, you may wish you had leaped into the ocean."
Charles Magellean: "Still an igit."
Julian Sawyer: "Already knows where he lives... So convince him or else. Got it."
Kales Brando: "He was assumed dead until you blabbed that I was correct."
Azure: "Gotcha..."
Kales Brando: "It doesn't matter, you merely helped me... something good, in fact. Now then. Get to work!"
Julian Sawyer: "Doesn't matter." *Heads over to ol' Moody Mandy's shop*
Metal Man (GM): He goes back into his hut and starts drinking tea.
Charles Magellean still can't believe he wasted a perfectly fine Shield of Nyrah.
Metal Man (GM): Julian: You walk towards the shop... You're suddenly knocked over by a flash of white light ..And a mysterious person just appears out of nowhere.
Julian Sawyer: "Oof!" *Knocked over* "What the... Who're you?"
???: *The blue-haired man turns to look at Julian. He is dressed in a white tunic and pants, with a huge white cape on his back. In his hand is a blue rod, topped with a diamond.* "...?"
Julian Sawyer: *Gets up* "What's your deal, man? Watch where you're goin' next time!"
Rune: "Oh, sorry, I didn't know this space was occupied. Next time I'm trying to cross dimensions, I'll be MUCH more careful," *he snapped sarcastically.*
Julian Sawyer: "Be sure that you are." *Continues on towards Moody Mandy's*
Rune: "Hey, wait a minute. You know a guy named Zio?"
Julian Sawyer: "Zio? Think he died." *Continues on*
Rune: "Damn shame," *He comments, clearly not believing either Zio's alleged death or that such an event would be a shame.* "Ah well. Least my first job's done."
Julian Sawyer: "..." *Pauses and turns around* "Who are you, anyway? Why you lookin' for Zio?"
Rune places two fingers on his forehead and bows, flourishing with his hand. "Rune Walsh, at your service. And Zio... that's a story for another time. Before anything else, where exactly is this? I'm pretty sure I didn't mean to end up here."
Digifanatic: "Eh, I need some item business dealt with myself..." *He starts walking over to the show, somehow bypassing the other two's conversation, but hey... he's concerned about his items.*
Julian Sawyer: "'Kay then. Julian Sawyer's who I am. You just got here? Talk to Kales, he's the old lizardguy with the cane." *Points him out* "Just don't piss him off unless you like getting the business end of it. Then go over to those huts." *Points out the huts the Questers are currently staying in.* "And look for a guy named Metal. You'll know him when you see him."
Digifanatic walks in and buys himself a Stone Skin Badge, first and foremost, paying his 4500 coins...
Julian Sawyer: "He'll hook you up."
Rune chuckles and waves over his shoulder as he walks off towards Kales' hut.
Julian Sawyer: "...Strange guy..." *Continues on his way towards Moody Mandy's*
Rune: "Strange guy..."
Kales Brando: "Yes, what is it?"
Metal Man (GM): Rune would see, of course, Kales the lizardman, drinking some weird tea.
Rune: "...uh... I was told to speak with you."
Kales Brando: "You must not belong here either. Well, all I can say is this. Don't destroy anything that looks ancient, do what I say, and don't ask questions."
Rune: "Came here by accident, wouldn't dream of it, absolutely, don't think I need to."
Azure: "Decides to stock himself on a few items. restocking his set of rings once more from the one set he had to now set of 4 -3000 coins. He goes on his way."
Rune: "Uhh...'fore I leave, I have one important inquiry. Have you seen a black-haired man in black armor, with a black cloak, black boots, and just a generically evil-looking personality about him?"
Digifanatic buys one Fury Materia, two of Ari's Gems of Contingency, and 200 more rings.
Kales Brando: "No. Not at all. We don't usually have hair. Only monsters and strange people like you have hair."
Rune chuckles. "Thanks for the help." He turns on his heel and heads over to the huts with a smirk on his face.
Digifanatic walks back out.
Kales Brando sneers to himself. "Don't mention it, it might ruin my reputation."
Digifanatic sees this other new guy... "New guy to this place?" He politely extends his hand out.
Rune glances at the hand and grins, grasping and shaking it firmly. "Name's Rune Walsh. Looking for a guy named Zio, and/or anything else that might happen to be tainted and evil."
Digifanatic: "Ah yes... one of our sworn enemies. Well, glad to meet you, Rune."
Rune: "You too?"
Digifanatic: "Name's Ian, but everyone around calls me by my eternal alias at this place, Digifanatic."
Rune: "He has a talent for pissing people off, huh? So who'd he kill this time?"
Garrick Fy`aar: *Is currently working soundly on the blacksmith shop. He just finished the anvil and is working on some hammers and such...*
Aribar will assume that he listened to Kales but was quiet the whole time...
Digifanatic: "Obviously, Digi just for short. So... I hope you find yourself... comfortable in this force, and hope you can be a formidable guy around here."
Julian Sawyer: "Hey Mandy, 'sup?" *Buys 400 rings, a The Animator, two packets of Amnesia Dust, an Item Magnet, a Holographic Bridge, a Speed and IQ Capsule, a pair of Evasion Shoes, and a Defend Plus*
Aribar: "... Kales?" *The elf gets ready to be yelled at.*
Charles Magellean waits at the entrance of the village so ones still in village will end their business and venture North.
Metal Man (GM): Rune: You'd notice a man who is terribly out of place. A man wearing metal armor... he looks like a cyborg.
Rune: "...you must be Metal," *he says to the cyborg.*
Julian Sawyer: *Grand Total: 46,675 coins*
Rune: "Unless Forren figured out how to teleport himself here."
Metal Man: "I am he. I am one of the senior Questers. Who're you and do you want anything?"
Digifanatic kindly steps out of the way.
Metal Man seems accustomed to people appearing outta nowhere.
Aribar: "Umm... Kales, do we have to do this? I am not sure if we should be exploring these ruins..."
Julian Sawyer: *Picks up his items and sticks them in his back pocket.* "Pleasure doin' business with ya." *Exits the shop*
Rune sighs. "Rune Walsh, looking for Zio, want to kill him and/or anything else that might happen to be controlling him."
Metal Man: "Zio? Oh... eheh... eghehehehehe..."
Rune: "Oh good. What'd he do?"
Metal Man: "Well, he's not here. He allied with us to fight a greater evil than he himself."
Rune: "Rather, who'd he kill?" *He 's face is blank for a fraction of a second*
Metal Man: "Well, he and Alys aren't really all that easy to kill..."
Rune: *A moment later, he bursts into peals of laughter. He stops at the name* "Alys."
Metal Man: "They both have died twice without staying dead."
Rune: "What? Alys? As in Alys Brangwin?"
Julian Sawyer: *Pops the IQ and Speed Capsules on his way to the huts.*
Metal Man: "Yessir."
Rune: "...she's not dead?"
Metal Man: "Well... that's a good question. Even when we thought that she would die from killing Zio..."
Julian Sawyer: "Mmmm... Strawberry and Banana flavored."
Rune seems to have swapped from blank disbelief to amusement to sheer astonishment in the span of a few seconds.
Metal Man: "She reappeared, mind controlled by evil, then we saved her, then I think that greater evil person killed her again. However, I doubt she's actually still dead."
Rune: "..." >> "Seems she has a talent for that."
Metal Man: "Whatever it is with you people, nobody dies. ...I remember hearing from her about other people related to that... Dark Force and Lashiec don't seem to die either. Anyway, they're all on some other planet."
Rune: "Yeah..." >> "Probably me, too. Seems my soul's been reincarnated for over a thousand years."
Metal Man: "You're on a place far, far away from any trace of them."
Garrick Fy`aar: *Finishes the first of the many hammer's he'll be making...*
Julian Sawyer: "Freaky." *Walks up to the group.*
Metal Man: "Heck, even our own home is many light years away from here, I think."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...whew. Alright... now that this is done, the others should come along a lot quicker..."
Rune: "Dark Force, AND Lashiec? What, is that stupid blonde kid here, too?"
Julian Sawyer: "Or maybe we're right next to it and never noticed."
Metal Man: "No stupid blonde kids... oh... wait..." *He points at Garrick.* "You mean him?"
Rune blinks and starts laughing.
Metal Man: "He did shoot the back of Lashiec's head."
Aribar continues to wait patiently...
Rune: "Nah. Guy I'm talking about, irritating, short, blonde."
Julian Sawyer: "Never seen him. Garrick's tall."
Rune: "Anyway, I get the feeling you/we/whoever has some business to attend to."
Metal Man: "...Deloth appears to have dissappeared a while ago."
Julian Sawyer: "That we do."
Garrick glances up, sighing a bit at the comments before going back to his hammering. Just let them go ahead, it's a lot easier that way.
Azure: *Waiting for everyone for once takes up one of his monk tendencies. He sits on the ground indian style in meditation thinking on their next task.*
Metal Man: "Well, I can never really come... I hear it involves water. I hate water."
Rune: "I can't swim."
Metal Man: "I sink to the bottom... kinda like a bunch of other people. Anyway, I see people are waiting for you."
Rune: "Well... how're we... assuming I'm part of this now... how're we supposed to get there, then?"
Julian Sawyer: "We ain't going to the water yet. We gotta make a stop at this Elder guy's house and get him to warp us. Failing that... We're kinda stuck."
Metal Man: "Stuck like glue to... itself? ...My similes are lacking today."
Rune grins. "Well, what're we waiting for?"
Aribar tries to find Kales so the elf can FINALLY talk to the lizard...
Metal Man (GM): Aribar does find Kales, eventually.
Rune: "...yeah, man, that was pretty weak. Stuck like Elsydeon in a rock."
Kales Brando: "...Hello. What do you want?"
Aribar: "Umm... Kales, do we have to do this? I am not sure if we should be exploring these ruins..."
Julian Sawyer: "Look, I'm not the group pundit. You want that? Talk to Charles."
Kales Brando: "You're the only people who can fight those monsters. Without you, we might as well forget the ruins."
Rune examines the Psycho Wand closely. "...what the..."
Kales Brando: "The elder is the only person who can let you there, and he'll only trust you. Otherwise he would have told me that he was alive."
Aribar: "I'm not talking about just the ruins you want us to go to for our next assignment... I mean I think we should drop the ruin exploration entirely."
Julian Sawyer: "Anyway, we got an old guy to convince. Metal, see if you can get everyone to the north exit so we can move out."
Rune: "Hey, is my weapon SUPPOSED to lose its main power?"
Metal Man: "Uhhh... yeah. Everybody to the North exit! ...I don't know. Probably the fault of whoever sent you here."
Rune: "I sent myself."
Julian Sawyer: *Shrugs.* "You comin' or not?"
Metal Man: "Well, there you go. I'm not coming, myself. Water is... deadly."
Garrick Fy`aar glances up, shrugs, and heads with the others to the North Exit apparently...
Rune sighs dejectedly and prepares to follow whoever.
Julian Sawyer: "I'm talkin' to New Guy, here."
Aribar waits for Kales's response.
Julian Sawyer: "Alright then, let's go."
Azure: "So it seems we are ready." *He stands up coming out of meditation.*
Julian Sawyer: *Heads for the North Exit*
Kales Brando: "No deal."
Azure: *Heads for the North Exit*
Rune follows Julian.
Kales Brando: "You must explore the ruins, or explore the different ways to die of starvation."
Aribar: "... How difficult is it to attain food around here? Out in the wild I mean."
Kales Brando: "It is difficult if you have a broken leg." *Hits Aribar in the shin* "Which you WILL have if you ask me again."
Rune: "Hey... Julian, right?"
Kales Brando: "A one armed person has no chance to survive. A two-armed one will die almost always. A group of ten people will mostly die; one may live until they die of old age at best. Only a group of fifty people can survive reliably."
Rune: "You got any idea what world this is?"
Aribar: "Gah!" *The elf backs up and puts his hand on the hilt of Moonlight... Just in case the lizard attacks Aribar again.*
Rune: "Coordinates, magical or otherwise, would be remarkably helpful."
Julian Sawyer: "Yeah."
Kales Brando: "Now then. Go, or be gone."
Julian Sawyer: "Nah, we just walk until we see Elder guy's house."
Aribar: "... Fine. I think I've chosen the path I'll take." *The elf storms off towards the others already wondering if the Elder would like a neighbor.*
Charles Magellean finally sees the guys coming. He briefly waves then goes back to waving his index fingers in the air like a conductor. "...from Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony, from Peru to Cebu feel the power of Babylon, from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea..."
Rune: "Whozzat?"
Julian Sawyer: "And we have no idea where this is... That's Charles. You'll get used to him."
Charles Magellean: "Sail away, sail away, sail away..."
Rune: "Reminds me of Raja."
Julian Sawyer: "He's from the Second Moon, apparently..."
Garrick Fy`aar walks slightly hunched, his hands shoved into the pockets of his coat
Rune: "'Cept without the funny."
Julian Sawyer: "Anyway, Everyone here?"
Metal Man (GM): You can walk down the path without a problem. It's apparently kept in good shape, and free of monsters.
Garrick Fy`aar: "Let's just get this over with."
Charles Magellean stops singing parts from Orinoco Flow.
Azure: "We walk a lot lately, it's relaxing. At least for the time we are doing so."
Rune: "I'll take a hovercraft over walking any day."
Julian Sawyer: "Walking's good for you, man. Keeps you in shape."
Aribar follows the others, his eyes on the ground in front of him...
Rune: "I'm a wizard, I don't need to be in shape."
Julian Sawyer: "Alright, let's go." *Moves onward towards the Elder's house.* "Sure ya do."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...oh great. Now we have a wimp on our team."
Rune follows behind Julian, having no idea where they're going. His head snaps up at Garrick.
Julian Sawyer: "What? Ari's a wizard too. And he's got a sword."
Charles Magellean: "Bad choice of words. Don't insult Aribar, Garrick."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I was talking about that blue haired guy."
Rune: "Wimp, am I?"
Julian Sawyer: "Still, don't generalize."
Rune: "I take it back."
Charles Magellean: "Blue hair... white armor..."
Rune: "You ARE a short, blonde, annoying kid."
Julian Sawyer: "Jeez..."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I actually am a tall, brown haired, gunner. Nice powers of observation, slick."
Julian Sawyer: "This ain't gonna end well..."
Rune: "You seem to remind me remarkably of someone I know. Someone who I dislike, who happens to be short, blonde, and an annoying kid."
Charles Magellean: "Blond... 'short'... annoying..."
Aribar: "... Guys, if things go as I'm thinking they'll go, you won't be seeing much of me after this assignment..." *The elf decides to interrupt the others with this.*
Charles Magellean snaps his finger.
Rune: "Thus, because you don't know his name, I have to describe you as that."
Metal Man (GM): Already you see the old cottage hanging on a pier over the ocean.
Julian Sawyer: "...Huh? What do you mean, Ari?"
Charles Magellean: "Are you speaking abou---no wait... she had brown hair."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Right, whatever..."
Metal Man (GM): The door is half-open, apparently to let in the sea breeze.
Rune: "Who?"
Julian Sawyer: "...Anyway, there's the elder's hut!" *Heads towards it*
Garrick Fy`aar doesn't really pay attention to Rune. He just keeps on walking...
Metal Man (GM): The Elder walks outside.
Charles Magellean: "Lost my train of thought."
Aribar: "Well, it'll be difficult to see if I don't live in the village..."
Elder: "Hum. What brings you here today?"
Julian Sawyer: "We need a warp."
Elder: "To where?"
Charles Magellean: "Ruins in the sea."
Aribar just stays quiet after that remark and looks up at the elder.
Rune: "Gee, you're pretty subtle."
Julian Sawyer: "You know of a ruin in the sea?"
Elder: "Ruins... in... the sea... Are you crazy?"
Julian Sawyer: "We heard there's a giant air pocket somewhere in there."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Most likely."
Charles Magellean: "Kales's orders."
Elder: "That place is too dangerous for such young..."
Charles Magellean: "I wanna eat and get paid like any other mercenary."
Elder: *Red x on forehead* "You... TOLD... KALES?????"
Julian Sawyer: "He already knew!"
Metal Man (GM): You can see his eyes turn blood red.
Rune slowly slinks to the side, preferring to ignore this.
Azure: "We do what we have to with not much choice." *He face palms looking at charles.*
Julian Sawyer: "...Hold up."
Rune: "Hey, Julian. I think you should shut up now. Friendly advice."
Elder: "You're right... I SHOULD warp you into the bottom of the ocean. Maybe drowning would keep you from spreading my secrets..."
Aribar takes one LARGE step away from Julian.
Elder: "Young whippersnappers, chasing the tail of a secret with salt!"
Rune holds up his hands. "Drown him. I just came here."
Charles Magellean: "You told us not to speak of you to him, but when we warped back, he was heavily suspicious that it was you. Unfortunately..." *He points to Julian.*
Julian Sawyer: "This is just a huge misunderstandin-AMNESIADUST TO THE FACE!" *Attemps to get Elder with the Dust to take those memories away*
Charles Magellean: "The igit here confirmed it was you."
Metal Man (GM): Opposed SPD checks.
Rune smacks his forehead. "I take that back. JULIAN is who reminds me of Chaz."
Metal Man (GM): You hit the Elder with it. However.... Locos just said 'The igit here confirmed it was you' after you amnesiadusted him.
Elder: "..." *Red x reappears on forehead* "HOW DARE YOU CONFIRM SUSPICIONS ON ME!"
Rune steps in front of Julian and holds up a hand to the Elder.
Charles Magellean scratches his nose.
Julian Sawyer: "I said nothing of you! I just said he. Could have been anyone. Kales jumped to conclusions that Charles confirmed."
Elder: "...And... what is this dust in my face? It feels... very fine and... ...Clearly you threw this on my face for a reason."
Rune: "Hey. Listen for a second." *He grins.* "Guy's an idiot. That's clear, right?"
Julian Sawyer: "Did not."
Charles Magellean: "It's amnesia dust."
Julian Sawyer: "...Would you mind shutting up?"
Elder: "...Amnesia dust?"
Charles Magellean: "Makes you forget."
Elder: "...Why didn't you throw it on Kales?"
Julian Sawyer: "I didn't have any."
Elder: "It would have been much easier."
Rune turns to Julian and smiles. "I think you should before you wind up in the middle of the world."
Aribar takes a few more steps away from Julian.
Rune turns back to the Elder. "Hey, can I ask you something?"
Metal Man (GM): He laughs rather darkly... this is probably even worse than if you hadn't have dusted him.
Elder: "One moment."
Metal Man (GM): The Elder turns to Julian.
Rune: "You are clearly a remarkably intelligent and powerful creature."
Azure: .oO(That was freaky...)
Elder: "I will let you warp to the ruins if you buy me a THOUSAND units of that dust."
Rune backs up and waits for Julian's bloody murder.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Rune: "Hooo boy."
Elder: "You will pick through it with your hands to remove every single pebble that might get in it. Otherwise, I might just warp you to the center of the planet instead of those ruins."
Rune chuckles at this.
Charles Magellean: "Does that apply to every one of us?"
Elder: "Like fried toast, you would be. No. Only... that person who threw dust on me. Clearly he wants me to have some."
Aribar: "Uhh... Elder?"
Rune: "You done with this idiot?" *He jerks a thumb at Julian.* "Gotta talk ta ya in private, Master Elder."
Julian Sawyer: "Look, I don't have that kind of money. That stuff's expensive."
Aribar: "Do you happen to have any extra space for rent around here?"
Elder: "For rent? This is only a one-room building. And I also forgot whether or not I was going to let anyone inside..."
Rune grins, but is looking agitated.
Aribar: "Hrm... Well, do you mind if I live near you then?"
Elder: "I also appear to have forgotten why you are here."
Rune: "Hey, Master Elder."
Elder: "You can do that... just ensure I get my 1000 units of dust."
Julian Sawyer: "Didn't you just mention why we were here about a minute ago?"
Rune: "May I speak to you? In private?"
Charles Magellean: "New one, please not now. We have business to attend to."
Elder: "No, because I wouldn't want to let the sand man escape me."
Charles Magellean: "Ruins in the sea. Will you warp us there?"
Rune grins. "So bring him in with us and bind and gag him."
Elder: "You! Sand man! Run to the village and buy every last bit of the amnesia dust. Only if he buys that dust."
Julian Sawyer: "I told you, I don't have that kind of money."
Elder: "I don't care. Get me it if you want to go to the ruins."
Rune: "Deal with it, man."
Elder: "I could die any minute now of old age and leave you stranded here. Have you ever thought of that?"
Charles Magellean: "...Orders are orders."
Rune chuckles. "My kind of lizardman."
Aribar throws 11,100 coins to Julian's feet. "Here's enough for a couple of those dusts I'm sure."
Charles Magellean: "Julian, do not go."
Elder: "If a thousand is not what you can buy, then at least buy everything you can."
Aribar threw that 1000 that he got from that glass pyramid to see if he can finally drop it or not.
Elder: "You look rich as it is."
Rune taps his foot and waits for the Elder to be able to speak with him.
Julian Sawyer: "...Can't believe this... Charles, next time we enter negotiations, you mind not talking? So you don't give away secrets? It'd be much appreciated."
Charles Magellean: "You think before you speak and this wouldn't have happened."
Elder: "Do not thow dust on people, and perhaps this won't happen to anyone again."
Julian Sawyer: "You're the one who mentioned Kales! And the amnesia dust! He wouldn't have been the wiser if you'd have kept your mouth shut!" *Picks up the coins Ari tossed him and walks back to the village*
Charles Magellean: "Regardless, we do not have time to waste for Julian to go and buy more items even if we wanted to. We either have Elder warp us or else. I'm not wanting to waste time or your money, so I'm choosing else."
Elder: "Throw him off the cliff then."
Rune: "Look. Elder. You are clearly a remarkably wise and talented lizardman. You and I both know that. And you and I also both know that throwing him off the cliff will not solve the main problem."
Elder: "Of course. I didn't get that way by having weird smelling dust thrown on my face."
Rune: "The main problem is that your secret has been blown, yes?"
Elder: "The ruins hold even more secrets. I need the dust to throw on him after he returns from the ruins."
Rune: "So. Let me make a deal with you. Hehe... I knew I liked you for a reason."
Elder: "He could sit here and be bored while you explored the ruins, but that depends on your tastes. You should have brought more dust."
Rune: "That would be fair, but not exactly what I had in mind."
Elder: "I don't even want him to remember undersea ruins."
Rune: "Heh. You know what you want. That's a good thing. You remind me of a very wise elder on my own world."
Julian Sawyer: *Returns later with 7 bags of the stuff and 1906 coins in change*
Elder: "Now then. First..."
Rune: "Look! The monkey's back."
Julian Sawyer: *Adds in that other packet of Dust he bought earlier, that makes 8 bags* "Here, 8 bags, that removes about 40 minutes of memory."
Metal Man (GM): The Elder dumps a bag of the stuff on Julian's head. Then he kicks him into a warp... to the ruins.
Rune bursts into peals of laughter.
Elder: "He won't remember how he got there. Now then! That warp is the one you seek. Go into it."
Charles Magellean: "And he won't remember blaming me?"
Elder: "He will probably remember. His trip took ten minutes."
Rune without asking, hops into the portal, the Psycho Wand out.
Elder: "I will make sure he remembers nothing important."
Aribar sighs, still not sure if they should be doing this...
Azure: *Hops in the portal as well unsure they should be doing this but with no choice in the matter either way he heads onward and forward.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: You go into the portal?
Digifanatic follows all the others as well
Charles Magellean: "Now like Kales, the water is under the bridge to him. I believe you should do that too."
Aribar looks to the Elder, wanting to confirm something before he enters the portal. "So... Would it be okay if I tried to construct my own shelter near yours? I don't think I want to live under Kales's rule because I am not sure if it is right for us to be intruding on the ruins."
Charles Magellean steps into the warp to the underwater realm.
Elder: "That is fine with me. Just keep the brat with the funny smelling powder away."
Aribar: "... Thankyou." *He heads into the warp after taking out the Wand of Wonder.*
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* You all appear in an ancient, rectangular building. Julian is already there. A brown bag is on his head.
Julian Sawyer: *Flies out of the portal and lands on his back, stars around his head.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian: All you remember is buying some amnesia powder, then walking down a path and suddenly winding up here.
Rune hops through the portal first, landing in front of Julian and moving out of the way for the others.
Julian Sawyer: *Pulls the bag off his head* "What happened... Last thing I remember is buying that Dust for the Elder then... dammit, he dumped a bag of that stuff on my head..."
Rune grins.
Azure lands second quickly looking around the area.
Julian Sawyer: *Gets up and dusts himself off*
Rune: "Welcome back to the land of slightly-more-intelligent-than-you."
Metal Man (GM): You're all standing around a rather large valve thingy. It's rusted, but it looks like it controls something.
Julian Sawyer: "Shut up. That entire thing was Charles' fault and you know it."
Metal Man (GM): It's currently all the way in the 'down' position.
Rune: "Right. Charles through the amnesia dust on him."
Digifanatic: "Oh boy..."
Julian Sawyer: "First he mentions Kales, when it was obvious we shouldn't have."
Metal Man (GM): You can go straight ahead.
Rune looks at the valve, no longer paying attention to Julian.
Digifanatic: "Anyways."
Metal Man (GM): The valve itself has a label on it.
Rune: "No one touch that. I'm pretty sure we'll die."
Metal Man (GM): 'Emergency Door controls'
Julian Sawyer: "Then he tries to pin the blame on me! I was merely trying to right that situation, when Charles had to mention the dust and now here I am, with most of my coins gone..."
Rune: "...no one touch that. We will die."
Julian Sawyer: "You said that twice."
Rune: "Oh, stop griping! It's your own fault and you know it. And I was confirming my suspicions."
Julian Sawyer: "What the heck are you smoking? Charles needs to learn when to not mention stuff he shouldn't, is all I'm saying."
Aribar hrms, looking around the room a bit before heading forward... How's the lightning conditions here?
Metal Man (GM): While you are arguing, you hear some sort of... noises... nearby.
Digifanatic: "Argh... can we just stop for a second?"
Rune heads forward, then stops when he hears the noises.
Metal Man (GM): The area is lit up by glowing mushrooms and fungi.
Julian Sawyer: "...What was that?"
Rune: *He makes a move with his hand, indicating silence.*
Metal Man (GM): Most of it growing in cracks in the metallic walls... You hear some groans, too. Water dripping.
Julian Sawyer: "...Water pressure..."
Digifanatic: "Now this is quite odd... who could that be?"
Julian Sawyer: "It's not a who, it's what."
Rune: "Don't. Crack. Anything. Breaking one wall could kill us all."
Charles Magellean snickers.
Julian Sawyer: "Duh. We're only UNDERWATER, y'know."
Charles Magellean: "You're asking the Questers to not break."
Rune: "Making sure you remembered that."
Aribar mumbles, "With our record and your theory we should have died about a minute or so ago."
Julian Sawyer: "Will you just drop your damned preconcieved notions about me?"
Metal Man (GM): You see doors up ahead.
Charles Magellean: "Get's more hilarious each time I hear that."
Rune: "When my preconcieved notions stop being right."
Aribar hrms and heads up to the doors, studying them.
Julian Sawyer: "Jeez..." *Heads towards the doors*
Digifanatic follows the two.
Rune heads to the doors and begins examining them.
Metal Man (GM): The doors are locked, and made of steel.
Azure: *Follows his arms folded.*
Julian Sawyer: *Any peepholes?*
Rune: "Do. Not. Blow. Them. Up."
Charles Magellean walks slowly with them.
Julian Sawyer: "Will you stop stating the obvious?"
Metal Man (GM): The closest thing to peepholes are some small windows, through which you can see water outside.
Azure: "Yes really... no one blows up doors around here..."
Metal Man (GM): Yup. Into the ocean.
Rune blinks.
Metal Man (GM): The doors also have a notice on them.
Rune: "Someone must've lived here at one point."
Aribar: "... I'd imagine that the valve we saw earlier opens and closes this door."
Rune: "As in, this is a... what's it called... residential area."
Julian Sawyer: "...No DUH! Why else would this be here?"
Azure: "There ruins... duh...."
Rune: "Moron! Listen to what I said. Re-si-den-tial a-re-a."
Metal Man (GM): 'Use valve *gibberish* --not open'
Charles Magellean: "You can cut down on it now, new one."
Julian Sawyer: "Why-else-wo-uld-th-is-be-here-if-pe-o-ple-did-not-live-here-at-some-point-in-time?"
Aribar hrms and heads up to the window and looks through, trying to see if there's anything that might have been a tunnel before.
Metal Man (GM): The words are... like, messed up. They got all rusted and corroded. You see nothing but water, and another section from these underground ruins... and a faint, pinkish shield protecting the ruins.
Rune sighs and holds up a hand to shush Julian.
Julian Sawyer: "...That'd explain the air pocket..."
Rune: "And someone might still be living here."
Charles Magellean: "Most likely, yeah."
Julian Sawyer: "There's always something living in ruins. Kales even said there'd be monsters here."
Metal Man (GM): The doors, unfortunately, are still locked.
Rune sighs again. "Just... stop talking. Okay?"
Julian Sawyer: "If you're just going to state the obvious, why don't YOU stop talking?"
Aribar looks around to see if there are any other doorways or things they may have missed with just a cursory glance.
Rune observes the door. "Hmmm..." he says slowly.
Metal Man (GM): The valve is the only switch/implement of some use nearby.
Charles Magellean: "Julian has a point."
Metal Man (GM): You only see a door up and a door that goes straight ahead. The doors don't seem to have any pressure.
Julian Sawyer: *Door up as in on the ceiling?*
Rune sighs. "Stand back."
Azure: "Hey... look for a switch... maybe a key or something...."
Rune: "Would you rather I blow it open, or we deactivate that shield?"
Julian Sawyer: "Weren't you the one that said NOT to blow up the doors? And the shield is the only thing keeping the water out."
Rune: "Yeah, I know. Wanna take the chance that that Lever deactivates the shield?"
Aribar: "I don't think the shield is keeping the water out..."
Julian Sawyer: "So why not try the valve?"
Rune: "Try listening to what I say, you'll get it."
Aribar: "There's water right outside these doors so the shield must be shattered somewhere."
Julian Sawyer: "No, because it says nothing about a shield! It says Emergency Doors."
Rune: "Yeah, I know. Emergency doors. Leading outside."
Julian Sawyer: "Or to another part of the ruins."
Rune: "In the event of an emergency, you evacuate. Very, very little brainpower is required to figure that out."
Metal Man (GM): There is more writing. 'Rune does not know everything' j/k
Aribar sighs and just starts down towards the Northern door.
Rune holds up a hand to warn off Aribar.
Metal Man (GM): 'War door shi ed'
Rune: "Give me a minute and let me try this, yeah?"
Charles Magellean: "Let's just open a door and move on. These ruins are giving me 'shlaun`ka.'"
Julian Sawyer: "So why would a valve that operates the emergeny doors deactivate the shield?"
Metal Man (GM): The creaking and moaning continues to be heard.
Rune closes his eyes and blocks out Julian, trying to pinpoint the source of the creaks and moans.
Julian Sawyer: "Well, whatever you're going to do, do it fast. This place is gonna cave in..."
Metal Man (GM): You'd sense a variety of cracks in the walls; some even in this room.
Charles Magellean grows a wart on the left side of his forehead.
Rune nods and holds his hand across his chest, then quickly turns it around to the other side.
Aribar hrms and tries to see if THIS door has windows or something to see through... Or if it is locked, or if it has handles to open the door.
Rune: *A burst of five fireballs streak out, then join at the center of the straight ahead door.*
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Azure: "What... happened to not blowing up things..."
Metal Man (GM): A pinkish shield blocks the fireballs. It's magical!
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man (GM): ...And annoying. It turns invisible again after the fireballs are negated.
Julian Sawyer: "Okay, looks like the valve's our only option."
Aribar: "Gah! Warn us before shooting little fireballs..."
Azure sighs of relief. "That may have been for the best...."
Rune: "Alright. I see."
Metal Man (GM): The doors have no windows, but they look pressurized. No pressure against them. But they have some sort of reinforcement on them.
Aribar tries to open that door if possible...
Rune decides that if this didn't work, something else might... he moves over to the valve.
Metal Man (GM): The shield blocks your hand. It feels somewhat warm.
Rune: "I'm going to turn this thing off."
Aribar: "Wait..."
Metal Man (GM): In fact, it'd feel good to touch if it didn't start heating up whenever you touched it.
Julian Sawyer: "...You like disobeying yourself, don't you?"
Aribar heads on over so he's near the warp out of there.
Metal Man (GM): The valve is rusty... it'll need a good turn.
Aribar: "NOW you can do what you will with that valve thing..."
Rune inhales sharply, then looks to all sides of the valve-wall for hinges. Or some sort of other swinging device.
Metal Man (GM): The valve just has a circular spigot to turn.
Julian Sawyer: "If you're going to use the valve, go ahead and do it!"
Metal Man (GM): The valve has no hinges on the wall. It sits in the middle of the floor.
Rune inhales and begins turning the valve.
Metal Man (GM): You move it just a little bit. However, the doors open about 1 inch.
Julian Sawyer: "...Garrick was right, you ARE a wimp. Let me try."
Metal Man (GM): You hear a groan, and a small little creek of water flows between the walls of the room you're in.
Rune: "Go ahead."
Julian Sawyer: *Heads over to the valve, and tries to turn it*
Aribar gets ready to jump into the warp if need arises.
Rune chuckles. "Who's the wimp, exactly?"
Julian Sawyer: *Lucky that, not being shamed in front of a wizard*
Metal Man (GM): It turns a little bit more... it's now half-way open. However...
Julian Sawyer: "You are."
Charles Magellean: "Loss of footing perhaps..."
Metal Man (GM): The door dead ahead slams down again. Gonna need a little more pressure to keep them open.
Azure: "Need some help Julian?" *He joins him at the valve.*
