Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 221: Sandy Pillars

Aetos follows behind Charles...
Tridus: "Lead the way to this 'Kales' I have only met once or twice."
Charles Magellean with much enthusiasm for a new job, gains distance, jumps onto a shack, and jumps from hut to hut."
MrMonster follows Charles.
Tridus: *He follows*
MrMonster ...Follows on the ground, however.
Digifanatic: "Quite the odd acrobatic guy... I do admit to that. In a good way..."
Aetos refuses to jump from hut to hut, and just walks to Kales instead of following.
Metal Man (GM): You reach the warp spot.
Kales Brando: "Welcome, welcome... welcome. I need... another relic."
Aetos: "Is it shiny?"
Kales Brando: "It is atop a plateau, where a lake and a jungle are located. All I know is that it is located near or in a major water source."
Aetos makes a mental note of that
Digifanatic: "Oh boy... another insane water adventure."
Charles Magellean: "Aye sir, we will not fail you."
Kales Brando: "You opened the warp to the area across the bridge to that canyon. I'm afraid the bridge broke again; those vicious currents smashed it. But the warp is, thankfully, across the canyon."
MrMonster continues to listen...
Kales Brando: "Walk on the path until you reach the plateau; then look there."
Digifanatic: "Sounds good."
Kales Brando: "Some various monsters and natural hazards may get in your way. Now then. Embark to your job."
Tridus: "Whatever you say." *Enters the warp*
Charles Magellean: "You got it, Siirrrrrrrr Kales."
Aetos: "Roger that!" enters after Tridus
MrMonster unsheaths Miirnalk and walks through the portal.
Digifanatic: "Sure thing."
Charles Magellean tongue vibrates on the r. He then jumps into said warp.
Digifanatic follows everyone else.
Metal Man (GM): Your warp there... is golden, and weird. Suddenly, while flying through the weird golden tube of the warp, a different warp intersects it.
Aetos: "Woah... this reminds me of getting sto-- Ah!"
Metal Man (GM): The turbulence increases as somebody else is dumped into your warp. All of you are dumped at the Eastern Canyon side.
Digifanatic: "You were gonna say... 'stoned?'"
Charles Magellean lands with a thud.
Aetos shifty eyes. He stands, dazed.
Charles Magellean jumps back up, dusting himself off.
MrMonster lands on the ground and quickly rolls out of the way of the others coming out of the warp.
Jina: *Blinking, and looking around, landed on his huge helmet...* "Uh... what the hell just happened?"
Digifanatic lands a bit hard... fortunately not on anyone else..."
Tridus: "You tell us, then maybe we'll know." *He laughs to himself*
Charles Magellean: "We aren't at our desired location, that much I know."
Tridus: "What do you mean? There's the bridge." *He points at the broken bridge*
Aetos: "We aren't? Yeah."
Jina: *Struggling to roll up, he looked around again.* "...I seriously have no clue what is going on here."
Tridus: "Now to walk up this path, and... well, there's that plateau in the distance."
MrMonster looks to the new person... "Looks like we have some luggage... Unless you can fight?"
Metal Man (GM): Indeed, you see a small waterfall up ahead as well; the Western side of the canyon becomes full of pits and quicksand near there. No wonder there's a path on this side.
Aetos pats Jina on the back "Just ignore everything that happened to you on wherever your from... It doesn't matter anymore... not much at least"
Jina nods. "I'm seriously confused... but yes, I can fight using the awesome powers of my helmet."
Digifanatic: "I'm sorry... I should also introduce myself to you... two."
Aetos stands in front of Tridus, "By the way, man, My name is Aetos... erm... what the heck is yours?" He holds his right hand behind his head
Tridus: "I am Tridus, ancient undead Solarian spirit from thousands of years ago. Nice to meet you."
Charles Magellean cringes.
Tridus: "Though I can't really shake your hand, my aura might burn you."
MrMonster: "... Okay then. You may call me Mr. Monster... You shall be joining us on a mission to look for artifacts... Or get lost in the wilderness and probably die."
Aetos's eyes shrink. "Um..." He steps away and greets the newcomer, Jina.
Jina points at Tridus, shrieking. "Ghost! Get the damned ghostbusters out here! Mayday, mayday!"
Tridus: "What? Well, technically I'm a zombie. The Void, a being which wants to destroy everything, revived my body."
Charles Magellean: "Glad to know you've all met each other."
Aetos remembers hearing about The Void before from other questers...
Charles Magellean heads forward on the path.
Tridus: "...Yeah, we should get going." *Follows Charles*
Aetos: "Right, erm..." follows them...
Digifanatic: "Alright, before we move on any farther, both of you... anyway. My name is Ian, but in the custom of everyobdy else in this biz, it's, uh... Digifanatic...*Quiet sigh of relief* Welcome to the show."
Jina shakes his head. "You people scare me... but I have nothing better to do."
MrMonster follows Charley, resting his scimitar on his shoulder.
Digifanatic: "I don't mean to, I'll say that."
Jina nods to the Digi. "...Is this supposed to be mind numbing?"
Metal Man (GM): You immediately notice a fork in the road.
Digifanatic: "Not really. And your name?"
Metal Man (GM): You can go straight towards the plateau or to the East into an endless dust-hill area.
Jina shrugs. "Jina, helmet man."
Aetos stops at the fork.
Digifanatic: "Ah..."
Jina blinks..."Uh... I think we got left behind."
MrMonster continues towards the plateau.
Digifanatic: "Glad to meet you."
Charles Magellean continues towards the plateau as well.
Tridus: *Continues as well.*
Aetos: "Erm... " scratches his head "We're spozed to go there right?" points to the plateau... *He nods*
Tridus: "Yes."
Aetos follows Tridus and Charles again.
Jina starts to jog to the endless dust-hill, as he did not see the others OR hear the briefing.
Digifanatic follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): Jina goes to his doom and disappears into the dusty-hill area. -1 life He reappears at the fork, feeling... dusty.
Jina blinks. "...Sweet!" *He shrugs, heading to the plateau this time.*
Metal Man (GM): You eventually reach a slight upward trail, which you climb without a problem. You reach the plateau ..You see an immense jungle, complete with a lake dead ahead, a waterfall to your left, and a still-standing Ionic Pillar (Roman style) to your right. You also see, roughly, five of these pillars, inexplicably sticking outta the lake. And!
Digifanatic: "Well..."
Metal Man (GM): You see an old ruined building to the right. To the left, you have to cross over a river near the waterfall.
Digifanatic: "Must be the remains of some ruins..."
Metal Man (GM): No splitting up, FYI. The area looks like an old city.
Aetos looks right, at the building... then everywhere else "Holy cow... so many places."
Jina: "Oooooh. Jungle-ish city-ish."
Metal Man (GM): Now covered in grass, jungles, and sand.
Tridus: "Typical. A mission to a resort spot."
Jina: "Where next, where next?"
Tridus: "I don't know."
MrMonster gives a cursory glance to their surroundings, and his gaze eventually returns to the building. "That looks like the dryest place... Perhaps we should start our investigation there?"
Tridus: "The building? Sounds fun to me."
Charles Magellean: "Elder Kales had said that the relic is located in or near a major water source."
Aetos agrees
Jina nods, dipping his helmet forward. "Maybe they'll have a feast ready for us."
Charles Magellean: "A feast for the monsters around here, probably. We will explore the ruined city first."
Jina: "You ruin my dreams of food."
Tridus: "Aren't we inside it? I mean, I don't see any specific city... just some pillars and a building over there."
Charles Magellean: "Forgive me. My eyes are playing a mirage on me."
Aetos raises his hand... "I vote for the building."
Tridus: "Building."
Digifanatic: "Alright. I'm an agreement with that."
MrMonster: "It's unanimous then... Or close enough."
Aetos nods.
Digifanatic: "Unless it could have also meant that river..."
Charles Magellean: "The building first. The river probably later."
Digifanatic: "But that lake seems to be the more glaring locale. Yeah..."
Aetos: "Who knows what kind of treasures will be waiting for us inside a BUILDING!"
MrMonster starts towards the building.
Aetos closely follows.
Digifanatic does so again.
Charles Magellean walks, his eyes moving to the left and right to watch out for those lurking in the trees.
Metal Man (GM): You reach the building. It's made of granite; there's gravel all around it. The windows are barred and made of glass; the door itself is wooden and locked. You see two pillars off to the Northeast.
Tridus: "So then, who should do the honors?"
MrMonster: "Hrm..."
Aetos looks left and right. "To do what?... open the door?"
MrMonster squints at the door and wonders how rotted it is.
Tridus: "Yeah."
Metal Man (GM): The door looks only mildly rotted.
Aetos shrugs.
MrMonster: "I'll try."
Digifanatic: "Huh... Alright."
MrMonster sheaths Miirnalk and walks up to the door, focusing kinetic energy around his fist to empower it. (Charging a Meteor Smash). "... You guys don't mind me destroying the door, right?"
Tridus: "Not at all."
Metal Man (GM): You charge it up. Roll to hit the door.
Charles Magellean: "Knocking it down might be a better alternative."
MrMonster then SLAMS his fist into the door (Or tries to at least), trying to smash the door open with the punch.
Metal Man (GM): The door is smashed to bits and pieces.
Aetos cheers "Yay!"
Metal Man (GM): You notice that the area inside is slanted downwards... walking into there is equivalent to walking underground.
MrMonster stumbles forward and into the room, a bit overbalanced by his punch.
Digifanatic starts walking through to the building...
Aetos walks in.
Metal Man (GM): It's a simple building; the first room has some chairs and tables around it. There's some empty bookcases, and an ancient, rusted iron sign over the steel door ahead.
Charles Magellean begins to slowly peek in, then walks in.
Metal Man (GM): 'ARMORY' it reads. Some light comes in through the windows. The steel door is surely a vault door; a good one.
Aetos 'hmphs.'
Digifanatic: "Keep going?"
Aetos looks closely at the vault door
MrMonster: "... We could, but I doubt any of us could smash down that door."
Tridus: "It has got to have a lock somewhere..."
Metal Man (GM): Tridus finds a combination lock on the door.
Charles Magellean: "Do you remember Smithy's doors?"
Tridus: "Aha! Success! ...Three numbers... 0-9."
Digifanatic: "How do you know this is Smithy's?"
Tridus: "Good thing it's an old fashioned metal lock."
Charles Magellean: "Well it's nothing like this. ...That means there are 1,000 possible combinations."
MrMonster goes over to the empty bookshelves and tries to see if he can find any markings or possibly a sheet of paper that may tell the combination.
Tridus: "Anyone here good with locks? There's gotta be over 1000... yeah."
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster: INT check.
Charles Magellean: "Exactly 1,000."
Tridus: "We can't sit around guessing it all day from 000 to 999, can we?"
Digifanatic: "Well..." *He tries 673.*
Charles Magellean: "There's always the old-fashioned punch the door."
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster: You find a scrap with the number 7 on it. Digi: It remains locked.
Aetos chooses a random combonation and tries it out...
MrMonster: "I found something..."
Aetos tries 590.
Metal Man (GM): That doesn't work either.
Tridus: "What, exactly?"
Aetos snaps his fingers
MrMonster takes the scrap of paper and shows it to the others. "It has the number 7 on it... Possibly a clue, or possibly someone likes to write down numbers on scraps of paper."
Tridus: "Even so, that leaves us with... 100 or so combinations, and we don't know where to put the 7!"
Aetos searches the bookshelves more, hoping for more clues
Tridus: "Such a frustrating thing... we're merely feet from riches!"
Metal Man (GM): Aetos: You find dust and old, moth-eaten bookmarks, nothing else. Not a speck of writing.
Aetos takes a bookmark "Pretty!"
Tridus: *He stares at the lock angrily* "Anyone have any bright ideas?"
MrMonster: "Yes."
Charles Magellean: "I'll help search as well."
MrMonster unsheaths Miirnalk. "Just knock the lock OFF of the door."
Charles Magellean kinda looks here and there.
Aetos looks on the table
Metal Man (GM): Charles: You find a scrap of paper. 'Sevens and nines are both sublime, but only time can tell that one is not the same. Plus two is five when the number is right.'
MrMonster walks over to the door and gets ready to try to smash the lock off.
Metal Man (GM): Roll for the lock-smashing attack.
Charles Magellean takes scrap of paper.
Metal Man (GM): Damage? (It hits)
MrMonster smashes the lock with the pummel of his scimitar, but it doesn't do much...
Metal Man (GM): The lock, it is too armored to be damaged by that.
Charles Magellean shows the scrap of paper to the others.
Metal Man (GM): In fact, you have a lock-shaped indent on your scimitar now.
Tridus: "...That is so confusing, it seems more likely to be instructions on how to frustrate people than a hint."
MrMonster: "... Damn... I'll have to get this thing fixed."
Digifanatic: "Oh, what's this... seems like a 7, a 9 and a 3."
Aetos tries 7-9-3...
Metal Man (GM): You hear a single click, but the door remains locked.
MrMonster: "... Hrm..."
Aetos: "Hmm... maybe that click was one number right."
Tridus: "But which?"
MrMonster sheaths Miirnalk. "Maybe... Or some trap."
Aetos: "I'm gunna try one more... 7-3-9"
Charles Magellean: "Not everything is a trap."
Aetos enters that combination...
Metal Man (GM): Same click; no door open.
Digifanatic: "Hmm..." *He INT checks this.*
Aetos: "Hm,, so the 7 must be there... if our theory is right."
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You discover the door is made of steel. And... that has something to do with the combination?
MrMonster tries 7-0-0 to make sure that the 7 is correct.
Metal Man (GM): One click again.
Charles Magellean: "That means that the 9 is not right."
Tridus: "Seven it is... but that's 100 combinations left..."
MrMonster: "Not really, Tridus."
Digifanatic tries 740...being that 73X and 79X doin't work
Metal Man (GM): One click.
Digifanatic: "Not a 4..."
Aetos tries 710
Metal Man (GM): One click.
Aetos tries 720
Tridus: *Tries 760*
Aetos: "Like this you guys..."
Metal Man (GM): Both: One click.
MrMonster: "Wait..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah?"
MrMonster tries 0-0-7.
Metal Man (GM): 1 click.
Aetos: "Damn..."
Charles Magellean: "To confirm, try 0 7 0."
Tridus: "Odd..."
MrMonster does so.
Metal Man (GM): One click.
Aetos tries 777.
Metal Man (GM): Click... click... click.
Aetos shouts Hah!
Metal Man (GM): The safe opens up.
Charles Magellean: "...How did you know?"
Aetos shrugs
Metal Man (GM): Inside... you see what looks like a ruined armory.
Aetos steps inside, excited
Metal Man (GM): In two glass cases, you see two items. One is a book, the other is a glowing black box. They have glass covers over them. It appears these used to be display boxes...
Aetos liking shiny objects rather then dark, or books... chooses to let the others inspect them.
MrMonster stands back in the first room.
Tridus: "I guess I'll be taking that box."
Charles Magellean: "My thought exactly. You try to touch the glass."
Tridus: *He classlessly knocks the glass cover onto the ground. **SMASH** Then he takes the box for himself.* "Whoops... the idiots who made this display didn't glue the glass on."
Aetos snickers at Tridus' and his similarities...
Tridus: "Oh well. This weapon upgrade is mine. ...That's right, these black boxes make your weapons stronger."
Aetos: "I'll remember that..."
Tridus: "Anyone interested in a funky old book?"
Aetos looks to Charles, expecting him to take the book
Charles Magellean nods.
Tridus: "Alright." *Knocks the glass onto the floor, takes the book, gives it to Charles.*
MrMonster: "... How exactly do those boxes increase a weapon's strength?"
Charles Magellean takes it.
Tridus: "They just do."
Metal Man (GM): Deeper inside the armory is some more stuff. This stuff is all heaped up. Old weapons! ...Do you venture deeper?
Aetos looks to the more stuff, hoping for something good to take
Charles Magellean: "Whoa boy. Slow down."
Metal Man (GM): Anyone else?
Digifanatic heads in, not having done so already, and continues inward...
MrMonster just stays in the main room... He has enough weapons as it is.
Charles Magellean power walks after Aetos.
Tridus: *Follows*
Digifanatic turns back...
Aetos gets squished.
Digifanatic: "Eh... not worth it..."
Metal Man (GM): Charles, Tridus, and Aetos walk deeper. Y'all go to go deeper into the place,... when a pile of rocks on the ground suddenly animates! Charles, Tridus, and Aetos vs. Rock Golem.
Aetos screams, then yells "Yay!"
MrMonster: "... Did you just hear that, Digi?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Should we help them? I'd like to."
MrMonster unsheaths Rakualk. "Might as well... Why do they meddle in such things?" He walks towards the battle, taking his time.
Digifanatic heads in to help the others... next round I assume?
Metal Man (GM): Next round appearance for MrMonster and Digimatic.
Charles Magellean: "Abomination. Let us through!" *He fires off 12 shots.*
Metal Man (GM): Damage per shot? All hit. You deal a total of 60 damage to the thing.
Charles Magellean: "I said let us through!"
Metal Man (GM): It just sits in the way, roaring at you.
Aetos charges at the rock beast and tries to impale it with Talon
Charles Magellean loosens up his shoulder after using it so many times. He slides along the ground, using it again to RAM into the Rock Golem
Metal Man (GM): It takes 130.
Tridus: "That thing looks pretty tough."
Charles Magellean loosens his shoulder more. "Indeed it was."
Metal Man (GM): CRIT 64 damage.
Aetos: "Hm, That didn't look like it hurt as much as it should have"
Metal Man (GM): You give it a nice big crack. The golem, that is.
Aetos calls a gust of dark wind to seep into the crack...
Metal Man (GM): It is hit.
Tridus: "I'll see what I can do to it..." *He goes psychotic on the enemy, and fires off two balls of lightning at the thing, Ganondorf style... the second one is most obviously Beta level!*
Metal Man (GM): *ZAP* *ZAP* 12 electric damage... No paralysis. It throws a bunch of rocks at Magellean. 20 damage per hit.
Aetos watches the thing as it barrages Charles with stones.
Metal Man (GM): 20 damage per hit... 120 damage total. Painful. New round.
Aetos sees Charles nearly covered in the rocks "That sucked."
Charles Magellean shakes off and kicks the stones. "Here, how's a rusing rocket o' destruction sound?"
MrMonster: "Why must you always disturb ancient guardians?"
Tridus: "Teach that thing a lesson!"
Charles Magellean arms form into a Rocket Launcher. He aims at the head, and fires a Demolition Man Destructive Rocket.
Tridus: "...It's blocking our way to loot. Look at that! A pile of stuff ahead."
Metal Man (GM): *KERBLAMMO* You blast it with the rocket ..It's still in the way. Although it looks like it was attacked by an angry mob... well, much like the angry mob you people make up.
Charles Magellean eyes glow with power. He fires an Eye Laser at the brute.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. You Eye Laser it good. In fact, you blow up one of its eyes. Not that it seemed to be using them.
Aetos: "Ouch..."
Charles Magellean: *20% + loss of an action*
Metal Man (GM): Your attack, however, fails to damage it. Though you still make it lose an action.
Charles Magellean eyes swirl while the Rock Golem tumbles around. Opposed INT checks.
Metal Man (GM): *INSTA-FAIL for the Rock Golem* You discover that it is completely mindless... like... a pawn to mold in your hands.
Digifanatic: "Hey, sorry I wasn't here before... holy cheese..." *Eye Spies the Golem before he starts his attacks*
Metal Man (GM): You evaluate that it's a weak turd of a monster ...At least, unless you were facing 5 of them. Then it'd be, like, evil.
Digifanatic: "Ah... this thing is starting to take it now..." *He starts with a basic Fire Punch to this thing, but at -3 acc for +3%.*
Metal Man (GM): CRIT You basically give it a fiery noogie. It takes 20 fire damage, but that's still damage.
Digifanatic continues with a Club whack.
Metal Man (GM): CRIT! No need for reroll. Digi's totally owning this annoying stone creature. It takes 10 damage.
Digifanatic then finishes his turn with a SM Punch.
Metal Man (GM): hit 0 damage, 0 coins
Aetos stabs the ground with the spear and power kicks the beast.
Metal Man (GM): Yes.
Aetos picks his spear out of the ground and spins it above his head, creating a tornado-like barrier
MrMonster thrusts Racualk forward, a kinetic wave of energy being unleashed off the blade and smacking into the golem, a Sword Shot. The Trualander follows the Shot and gives a mighty slice to his foe to end his turn.
Charles Magellean secretly likes being hit. He can find coins here and there and keep them for himself. "Just so were on the same page everyone, AVOID using your weakest attacks. They won't even affect this brute."
Aetos: "Roger."
Metal Man (GM): 0 damage from Sword Shot, 4 from the regular attack.
Tridus: "Let's see... this is the best I can do to damage it." *He flings two more balls of lightning... SP gets eaten, of course.*
Metal Man (GM): 8 electric damage... No paralysis. The rock golem decides to attack everybody with its rollout attack. Opposed STR checks.
MrMonster is flattened like a pancake.
Metal Man (GM): 46 damage to all who failed to beat 35.
Aetos's shield crumbles as the creature rolls all over it, then he gets squished...
Digifanatic: *CRUNCH! BOWL OVER!*
Charles Magellean becomes rolled over.
Metal Man (GM): It then hurls rocks at Charles.
Charles Magellean gets back up.
Metal Man (GM): 20 damage per hit. It hates you, Charles.
Charles Magellean: "So then, you like to fools of us? Well now it's time I started to humiliate the enemies." *He gets out the Ressikan flute. Metal Man (GM): ...It starts dancing to your song. With a jig. Although you wonder if rock elementals have the ability to be humiliated.
Aetos: "Try not to get this place to cave in now..."
Charles Magellean hops up and down to be lively as well.
MrMonster: "... I think you should be as embarrassed as that golem."
Aetos blinks "What an event this is, were in the middle of a fight and Charles make the enemy dance for us."
Charles Magellean stops playing.
Aetos applauds.
Tridus: "I'm not sure if it can do emotions; it looks mindless."
Charles Magellean fires two Destructive Rockets. *140% and end of turn.*
Metal Man (GM): *BOOM* You obliterate it. *Enemy Defeated* +200 EXP +500 Coins 1 random item Door Opener 3000
Charles Magellean dives for the Door Opener 3000 and grabs it before anyone else can.
MrMonster: "Good job! We've destroyed the guardian of some ancient treasure..."
Aetos: "B-b-b-but... Shiny!!" *He starts sobbing*
Metal Man (GM): Up ahead.... You reach a pile of weapons. They're old and junky.
Charles Magellean walks up ahead.
Metal Man (GM): However, there's one free weapon upgrade box thingy for everybody.
Aetos walks next to Charles. He nabs it! "I can be Charles! yay!"
Metal Man (GM): Also in the pile...
Charles Magellean takes one free upgrade.
Metal Man (GM): 291 measly coins.
MrMonster takes one of those boxes and looks it over... "How exactly do we use this?"
Tridus: "Touch it to your weapon; one free upgrade without need of a blacksmith."
Digifanatic: "Someone take mine. I don't use weapons."
Aetos would take it...
Metal Man (GM): Aetos takes the one Digi refused. The final item in there is a weird stone ring. It reverberates with weird psychic energy, detectible to anyone who looked at it.
MrMonster: "Hrm..." *He goes and looks at the ring...*
Metal Man (GM): The ring feels oddly familiar.
Charles Magellean inspects the ring as well.
Aetos scoots over the the coins and takes them sneakily...
Metal Man (GM): It appears to have some unknown ability. Aetos: +291 coins
MrMonster also touches the box to Rakualk at this time, and the sword begins to give off a purplish light... The Glow upgrade.
Charles Magellean: "Okay, I believe this thing has a deja vu sense."
Metal Man (GM): You have to touch the ring to find out.
Tridus: "I'm not touching that. Too weird!"
Charles Magellean: "I will touch this ring." *He touches the side of the psychicy ring.*
Metal Man (GM): Charles: You feel psychic energy rushing through you. Do you choose to learn the melee move in the ring, using it up, or let someone else use it?
Charles Magellean: "I... feel... I feel like I could learn something from this ring? Who else wants this power?"
Tridus: "Eh. Too weird for me. And Aetos has been taking all sorts of stuff, so... Mr. Monster should have it."
Aetos nods, sadly.
MrMonster blinks and looks to Tridus before glancing back to Charles... "It is your choice, Charles."

Tridus: *Shrug* "He doesn't seem to want much himself."
Digifanatic: "Well... I really don't use a weapon, so..."
Charles Magellean: "I have no need to learn melee moves. Eventually my necklaces will reactivate again. So..." *He throws the ring to Mr. Monster.* "Catch."
Tridus: "Be careful! If you drop it, it might do something bad!"
Metal Man (GM): Mr. Monster: Do you grab it?
MrMonster catches the ring with his left hand and looks it over.
Metal Man (GM): You grab it... before you can do anything, you feel psychic energy penetrate your brain... like a move trade, but you didn't trade anything! MrMonster has learned: Confusion! (Mewtwo's move) The ring disintegrates.
MrMonster blinks and shakes his head several time...
Tridus: "Woah! That was some funky energy which just zapped you there..."
Metal Man (GM): You can venture yet deeper. There appears to be more stuff there. Shiny stuff...
Charles Magellean: "...The armory beckons... the relic might be here."
Digifanatic continues on... "Well... there."
Charles Magellean continues onward, leading.
Aetos: "Whee shiny on ahead!"
Digifanatic: "S our shinies, right there."
Metal Man (GM): You continue... and meet up with two more of those rock golems!
Digifanatic: "Oh great."
Charles Magellean: "Two more of these? Gimme a break." *He fires 3 Destructive rockets at Rock Golem 1.*
Metal Man (GM): BAM BAM BAM.
Aetos blinks.
Digifanatic: "Well..." *He Quakes Fire Punches the two Golems, -3 accuracy again. He then Microwaves the first Golem.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit. You do a grand total of 0 damage.
Digifanatic then gives that first Golem another Fire Punch, -5 accuracy.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. 2 damage.
Digifanatic: "These things are insane..."
Aetos drills into Golemn rock beast thing #1
Charles Magellean: "Will you be able to become stronger in the short future?"
Metal Man (GM): Hit and hit.
Digifanatic realizes he will have to take these smashes reeeeeeally seriously... "Oh, Charles... I should be with two clean hits."
Metal Man (GM): 14, 14.
Aetos then calls another gust of dark wind to poison the thing
Charles Magellean: "...I see that they have hard armor... but... they're easy to hit."
Metal Man (GM): 8 dmg + Poison
Tridus: "They're good practice targets for Melee Moves."
MrMonster: "Too bad I'm so rusty all of my moves are useless!" *He summons up a PK Shield before smashing Racualk on the first golem.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit!
Tridus: "Low on energy already! Oh well." *He hits no. 1 with a psychotic Firebird attack, then a psychotic sword slash.*
Metal Man (GM): *20 fire damage 10 damage* Rock Golem 1 hates the look of that pretty force field. It hurls rocks at MrMonster. 20 damage per hit... of course, one of them heals you instead. Then it hurls the rest of the rocks at Charles.
Aetos: "Hmm, well it's obvious it has emotions such as hate and possibly anger!" *He moves a little away from Mr.Monster*
Metal Man (GM): 20 damage per hit. The other one totally rocks out and gains defense. Rock Golem 2's Defense is now temporarily 50.
MrMonster grunts as he's pummled by the rocks, but isn't overly hurt due to elemental resistance. "Blasted Golem..."
Charles Magellean: "Time to take one down." *He massages his right shoulder, then uses an X-Naut ram on Rock Golem 1, dealing 130% damage. He then fires two more rockets at the same golem.*
Metal Man (GM): Two hits. *Battleship noise* That thing is dead!
Aetos claps. He glances at the other monster. "Does that thing look... harder to you?"
Metal Man (GM): The second rock golem looks hard as a rock.
Digifanatic realizes that this sucker is TOUGH. He Feints it first...
Metal Man (GM): *Feint*
Digifanatic: *...and then lobs another Fire Punch at it, knowing it'll do squat, but still gives him insurance to Overdrive.*
Metal Man (GM): Indeed.
Digifanatic Overdrives... he then gives the Golem another Fire Punch, this time Overdriven, and at a -10 accuracy.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. Ouch. 11 damage.
Charles Magellean: "I thought the Rock Golem had defense before, but..."
Aetos: "Forget this!" *He says a phew words and then out of the blue, stabs himself with the spear, dying*
Metal Man (GM): May I ask why?
Aetos's corpse glows and the glow reaches over to the golemn, hopefully killing it instantly
Metal Man (GM): Oh. Well, your sacrifice isn't in vain. In the weirdest fashion possible... Aetos: -1 life Golem: *DEATH* +500 EXP
Charles Magellean: "...You sacrifice will be remembered, young ward."
Metal Man (GM): +1000 Coins.
Digifanatic: "Well then..."
Metal Man (GM): 2 Random Items
Aetos shines and stands up, "Did it kill him? Whee!"
Metal Man (GM): Ice Bomb POW Block And then there's the shiny stuff ahead.
Digifanatic: "Nice... that's what we're after..."
Metal Man (GM): Gold bars... each worth 1000 coins... 3 for each person.
Aetos walks ahead, letting them take the items from the monsters. "I'm Rich!!"
Digifanatic: "Nice..."
MrMonster: "Tridus, do you need any Maple Syrups?"
Digifanatic: "Oh, Aetos--I overheard your name when you were talking to someone else--I dunno if this'll be over, so here."
MrMonster: "They ought to restore your energy..."
Tridus: "I'm all outta energy, so yes."
Digifanatic gives him 100 Rings.
Aetos takes a few gold bars from the pile
Metal Man (GM): +1 life to Aetos.
Aetos: "Thank you Digi!"
Digifanatic: "No problem..."
MrMonster gives Tridus five of them and drinks one himself.
Charles Magellean grabs the Ice Bomb and the POW Block.
Digifanatic: "At 10 coins a pop, I suggest you get a multiple of 100...and maybe then some as reserve."
Aetos: "Sure thing!" *He grins*
MrMonster then takes the three golden bars...
Metal Man (GM): Do you continue deeper?
Charles Magellean grabs the three bars.
Metal Man (GM): It looks like more stuff, but you never know how many golems might attack...
Aetos: "Hmm, how much you wanna bet there will be three this time we go further?"
MrMonster: "Shall we go on or go back to the task at hand?"
Charles Magellean: "Relic." *He goes on forward.*
Tridus: "Well, I doubt we'll find an artifact in here. Just a lot of cash and stuff."
Digifanatic: "I agree. We need to move on."
Aetos uses sharp eyes to hopefully see whats ahead
Metal Man (GM): Aetos: You see... more golems!
Aetos: "Yup, let's go..." *He leaves the Armory*
Metal Man (GM): Hmmmm... Aetos leaves the armory, while Charles goes deeper into it.
Tridus: *Watches to see what everyone else does*
Aetos waits at the door
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster et Digi: Where do you go?
Digifanatic is indifferent, but he does have a slight bias towards Charles.
MrMonster sighs... "Charles! I bet there's even more treasure near the artifact than in here!"
Tridus: "Yeah, all that is in here is a bunch of bothersome monsters."
Digifanatic: "I guess... dah, I dunno."
Metal Man (GM): Charles: Do you continue deeper?

MrMonster sighs and stays where he is just in cast Charley needs help.
Tridus: "I'm gonna wait here."
Digifanatic follows Mr. M's play.
Metal Man (GM): Charles wanders, alone, to 4 Stone Golems. You can run, too.
Charles Magellean looks at the four golems...
Digifanatic might as well take this opportunity to talk. "I... just hope he'll be fine."
Charles Magellean: "...^_^;." *He attempts to run away.*
Metal Man (GM): You are barely caught by one of them. You may roll to run away again. This time, they manage to stop you from escaping with gusto.
Charles Magellean: "...I'm in trouble."
Metal Man (GM): You can try once more ..They sit there and you escape back to the others.
Charles Magellean pants... gasping for breath.
Digifanatic: "What happened?"
Charles Magellean: "Their... numbers... ...They doubled."
Tridus: "..." O_o
Digifanatic: "Oh..."
Charles Magellean: "Instead of three... there was four."
MrMonster: "... Why not face them alone, oh brave tomb robber?"
Charles Magellean: "I can face them one on one... and..."
Tridus: "Either they're guarding something good or they're just plain annoying."
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Charles Magellean: "Hey! I prefer the term 'mercenary'."
Digifanatic: "Weapon upgrades and stuff? Sure. Money? Oh yeah. What else? Probably the Relic..."
Charles Magellean: "Also, aren't you turning into Aribar? Only extreme riches."
Tridus: "I'm turning into The Void himself if we don't make up our minds between now and Tuesday."
MrMonster: "... No. Why would I be turning into the elf?"
Aetos decides to go back to them. "Extreme riches huh?"
Charles Magellean: "Young ward, come back."
Aetos: "If you think there are even better things back there, then I'm for it."
Charles Magellean: "Well... I can only theorize maybe, but I am not risking my neck against extreme danger just for a minimal profit gain."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... but what if the relic's there?"
Charles Magellean: "Relic's not there. Let's go."
Tridus: "Okay then." *Starts walking towards the exit*
Charles Magellean goes back alongside Tridus.
Aetos looks back at the golems, then shrugs. "Oh well." He goes back with them.
Metal Man (GM): Back outside.... You may go North, towards what appears to be a river of sand... Or back to the West, towards a river of water.
MrMonster follows the others...
Metal Man (GM): The sand river seems infinitely more dangerous, and is wider.
Digifanatic does so as well. "Oh great..."
Aetos: "Well, we DID say the river next..." *He points to the water*
Charles Magellean: "I said later, not next."
Aetos snickers.
Charles Magellean: "However, we should go to the nearest one next."
Metal Man (GM): Oh, yeah. You can also walk onto the beach of the lake and check out those weird columns.
Digifanatic looks for a stick or something he can poke with.
Aetos: "You mind if we go look at those columns? I doubt it would take long..."
Charles Magellean: "Go ahead."
Metal Man (GM): Going to poke the sand, Digi?
Aetos heads over to the columns next to the lake
Metal Man (GM): The stick is sucked in by the sand.
Digifanatic: "Yup... quicksand. Just as aI suspected."
Metal Man (GM): Aetos: You see five pillars in the North-East section of the river. You also see... A weird fountain, across the river of sand and lake, with ornate carvings on it. There's also a house floating over a large pit across the river of sand.
Aetos wonders how far the river is across.
Metal Man (GM): The river of sand is 100 feet across. It's immense and deadly looking.
MrMonster heads over to the river of water to check it out as well...
Metal Man (GM): Water river is only 20 feet across, but it borders a waterfall.
Aetos: "Hmm... I don't see anything here..." *He heads back to the river of sand and attempts to fly over it to the other side*
Metal Man (GM): Across the river of water is a pillar with gold atop it. Aetos: Flying? How? Flight quirk went *EXPLODE* Yes.
MrMonster heads over to the lake... "Should I try and take a short swim to see if there is anything under the water?"
Tridus: "Sure, but be careful."
Digifanatic: "I dunno. The current probably strong."
Aetos fails at flying... wondering if he gets to choose a new quirk since this flying ability is forever lost now.
Digifanatic: "And that waterfall..."
MrMonster unsheaths his weapons, takes out his items, and puts his gold on the ground. The Trulander then heads into the water and continues walking until it's about shoulder height at which time he begins to swim towards the pillars.
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster: You get to the pillars. They're... really tall. The middle on is special looking.
Aetos watches Monster, then he scoots to Monster's gold and items... peering at them. He shakes his head and watches Monster more
Digifanatic tries following him by double jumping over the river.
Metal Man (GM): Digi leaps over the water river.
MrMonster dives under the water to see if he can see anything different about the pillars.
Metal Man (GM): Monster: The pillars go deep down, then under the dirt... nothing special.
Aetos stands there, watching them frollick in the water/over the water...
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You see the gold atop that pillar. You also see another pillar in a nearby beach... As well as an inexplicable red door.
Digifanatic: "Hmm..." *He walks over to the pillars' relative location... and then also tries to find any possible way to get to that fountain without having to cross the sand river.*
MrMonster swims back up to the surface. "There doesn't seem to be anything special about these pillars."
Digifanatic: "What is with that door?"
Metal Man (GM): Walking the long way across the river.
Tridus: "I see."
Aetos looks at the "long way" across the' sand river...
Digifanatic: "Monster, want me to check out that fountain?"
Metal Man (GM): Aetos: Following Digi around the lake appears to be the best plan.
Aetos follows Digi...
Metal Man (GM): The beach near the fountain is quicksand. Lots of it.
Digifanatic: "Or would you rather want me to figure out what the this door is about...?"
Metal Man (GM): Aetos: Jump check, to cross the river. *Leap* You're now with Digi.
MrMonster swims back to shore, not exactly sure what Digi is talking about.
Metal Man (GM): You see the pillar with gold atop it...
Digifanatic: "Hey."
Aetos jumps into the air, not even using his other jump...
Metal Man (GM): The pillar stuck in the sand... And the inexplicable red door. You could just walk past them all.
Aetos wonders if he could jump high enough to get the gold on the pillar...
Charles Magellean wanders into the middle of the crossroads.
Digifanatic: "What should we do?"

Metal Man (GM): Aetos: Jump check.
Aetos: *ontop the pillar--He double jumps*
Metal Man (GM): You leap atop it, and discover the 'gold' is shiny paint. Also, that there's a fire trap up here. *ROAT* 60 fire damage to Aetos.
Charles Magellean: "I'll rest here. Someone tell me when we're gonna be traveling together again."
Aetos falls, taking fire damage, but then whips out a stone from his cape...
Digifanatic: "Well, those people sure were a crafty bunch..."
Aetos: "Grr." *He throws the trap remover at the fire traps*
Metal Man (GM): Fire traps: Disabled. Though that shiny paint isn't worth anything.
Aetos: "Stupid traps." *He tries to scrape the paint off the pillar*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos has acquired: Absolutely worthless shiny paint scrapings.
Aetos: "Yaaay!"
Digifanatic: "Anyways..."
Metal Man (GM): Estimated value: 1 coin.
Aetos sprinkles them into the river, polluting it.
Digifanatic walks around to that fountain.
Metal Man (GM): The bits are sucked down the waterfall. Digi: You walk around... but meet more obstacles and curiousities.
Aetos giggles, then goes to where Digi is.
Digifanatic: "Oh boy..."
Metal Man (GM): You see the gold paint flakes go down a separate waterfall... into a gigantic pit blocking the way.
Digifanatic: .oO(Reminds me of post 9/11...)
Metal Man (GM): You also see a weird building built into the side of a nearby mountain.
MrMonster gets out of the water and shakes his arms and legs to dry off before restoring his items to their proper item bags and weapon sheaths...
Metal Man (GM): It looks like it's made outta ruins. Mis-matched ruins.
Charles Magellean equips the Star Rod.
Metal Man (GM): The door to it is locked shut. You can also try jumping over da pit to get closer to da fountain.
Charles Magellean uses Healing on himself three times.
Aetos tries to jump over the pit, not caring how wide...
Metal Man (GM): Around 35 feet wide.
Aetos: *then double jumps, just in case.*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos leaps across.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... seems wide enough... I think I can do this..."
Metal Man (GM): The next thing, across the pit, appears to be a nice altar.
Aetos stands aside so Digi...-- can make it across
Metal Man (GM): Digi leaps across the pit. The altar looks old and made of stone. It also looks ancient. Maybe it has the artifact?
Digifanatic: "Looks intriguing..."
MrMonster walks over to the river of sand and looks at it...
Aetos looks to see if there is water in the fountain.
Digifanatic heads over to that altar.
Aetos drinks some if there is any...
Metal Man (GM): The fountain has water, but you're not to it yet. The altar glows and activates. MrMonster: You see the 100 foot wide river of sand.
Digifanatic takes a step or two back...
Aetos walks up to Digi.
Metal Man (GM): The altar fully activates. It''s another warp spot.
Digifanatic: "Well... uh-oh..."
Metal Man (GM): The way ahead is clear. Just a walk across a small spot of land.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... wanna check out that fountain for now?"
Aetos sets mode to follow Digifinatic. He nods.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar and Mr Monster are on the other side of the river of sand, which is both deep and thick. There's a bridge off to the East, though, which goes around it ..To a suspicious floating piece of turf, that is.
Digifanatic heads over to the fountain...
Metal Man (GM): Digi and Aetos: Welcome to Land Mine Land. Population: You, except the explosions might change that.
Digifanatic: "Oh nuts..."
Metal Man (GM): *KERBOOM*
Aetos: "Youch."
Metal Man (GM): 50 fire damage to Digi and Aetos from walking on some sort of land mines. There's probably more, so trying to continue to cross will probably invoke more pain.
Aetos is relieved he is aligned with the wind.
Metal Man (GM): Tridus is with MrMonster and Charles.
Charles Magellean: "Let's go find the other two."
Metal Man (GM): So then. How do you try to cross the land mines, Di... Aetos? So then. How do you try to cross the land mines, Digi?
Aetos sweats.
Metal Man (GM): Since you took 50 fire damage from walking on them.
Aetos flips through a catelog of Melee Stadium Items. He tries to summon an Item from Melee Stadium... hoping for something to make him invincible, or blow up the mines.
Metal Man (GM): Poison Mushroom.
Aetos: *Me gets weaker but faster...*
Metal Man (GM): About as useful as... well, a Poison Mushroom.
Aetos tries again...
Digifanatic: "Listen, if we can't make it across like this way, I have a way which I think'll be as close to foolproof as possible."
Charles Magellean attempts to cross this bridge.
Metal Man (GM): Charles: SPD check.
Digifanatic: "Considering I can have free will as to where we land..."
Aetos: "But I still have two more melee items to summon..."
Metal Man (GM): Charles: You run across and leap over the short gaps in the bridge. You land on the floating platform. However... the second bridge leads to a pit, so you'll have to run across, then leap over the pit. I guess these bridges go nowhere!
Aetos: "Well, whats your plan Digi?"
Charles Magellean goes heck with this and attempts to go back.
MrMonster heads over to that bridge... "Charles, what are you doing?"
Metal Man (GM): You get back.
Charles Magellean: "Stay off the bridge!"
Digifanatic: "It's a little trick I learned that goes back to what I would have been doing if I didn't join this place the first time."
Aetos: "Erm... just say it?"
Digifanatic: "Might as well do it."
Charles Magellean: "We'll just wait for the others."
Digifanatic Digiports him and Aetos to a safe spot near the fountain.
Metal Man (GM): Aetos and co. Are finally at the fountain!
Aetos: "What the heck just happened?"
Digifanatic: "Hey, it survived..."
Metal Man (GM): It's two concrete platforms set on top of one another, on the ground.
Aetos: "Nevermind, I don''t wanna know."
Digifanatic: "Like I said, a little teleportation trick. We're here and we avoided the rest of those mines."
Metal Man (GM): Intricate square flows of water go through it, then into the lake.... It must be a spring! You see, atop it, a glowing staff.
Aetos looks to Digi... "Mind if I...?"
Digifanatic: "Ah... that's more like it. Sure. Just be careful."
Aetos tries to grab the staff atop the fountain.
Metal Man (GM): You yank it on out... a pretty water spout is caused. It was blocking the water flow!
Aetos: "Oo, that's pretty!"
Metal Man (GM): The water to the river increases... The former quicksand river dries up. It's now sand.
Digifanatic: "Ah... that's a relief."
Aetos looks at the river. "Yay."
Charles Magellean: "...Hey... You guys just noticed something?"
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, the sandy area with the big column to the West is filled with water ..Then something else happens... Julian et Garrick (If they want to come) appear outta the warp spot, and those five pillars sink into the water. ..Something monstrous begins to rise out of the lake.
MrMonster: "Ahh... I don't think s... Look!" *The Trulander points to the pillar.*
Julian Sawyer: "...The hell?"
Aetos looks at the large ...thing "Holy hell."
Charles Magellean: "...Since when did Julian get here?"
Julian Sawyer: "Since now. Came outta that warp." *Points to it*
Charles Magellean: "Bleh."
Metal Man (GM): The thing rises out of the lake. It's... it's...
Julian Sawyer: "You don't believe me?"
Metal Man (GM): A gigantic monster made out of pillars.
Charles Magellean looks to the thing... and merely looks with awe.
Julian Sawyer: "...Wow."
Digifanatic: "Don't worry about him getting here... worry about THAT."
MrMonster raises Racualk... "I just THINK we may be in for a tough fight."
Aetos: "Well that's certainly... ugly. Think it's mad about the paint?"
Digifanatic points to that pillar creature...
Aetos puts the staff under his cape and prepares for the battle.
Julian Sawyer: "That's just crazy..."

Metal Man (GM): It makes an inhuman roar, which shakes the entire area.
Charles Magellean: "Do you always ask questions? They need our help!"
Aetos feels the rumble
Julian Sawyer: "Jebus..."
Metal Man (GM): Everybody can just walk to fight the pillar monster.
Charles Magellean runs across the sand towards the fountain to help Digi and Aetos.
Julian Sawyer: "..." *Does that then*
Aetos scoops up some fountain water and drinks it before fighting.
MrMonster chases after Charles, sword in hand.
Julian Sawyer: "Right, so..." *Runs up and hits it three times?*
Metal Man (GM): How much? 0 0 0 You do a lot of 0 damage to it. Anything else?
Julian Sawyer: "OW... my hand..."
Aetos is really worries now.
Metal Man (GM): It's 150 feet tall, making it rather deadly looking.
Charles Magellean: "The defense of this enemy is astounding if it made Julian's attacks look like fluffy puffs."
Metal Man (GM): It's got ionic pillars for arms, legs, and a gigantic one for its body. It looks a little tipsy...
Julian Sawyer: "That's it, you get to meet Vendetta, you big... thing."
Metal Man (GM): Yup. Unsteady.
Aetos: "Hmm... maybe if we could make it fall down, or take it apart...? The Waterfall!"
Tridus: "I'm wondering it it'll smash us to bits or first laugh at us."
Charles Magellean massages his shoulder, and rams the left leg of the man.
Aetos shrugs

Digifanatic: "The thing's huge! How are we supposed to do that?"
Metal Man (GM): It roars angrily at you.
Charles Magellean backs up some, then fires two Destructive Rockets at the torso.

MrMonster: "I doubt even my strongest psionic or physical attack could dent it..."

Digifanatic starts out the same way he did last time... an Overdrive Fire Punch at -15 acc rather than 10...he really needs to bank on criticals...
Charles Magellean: "Sheer power will only work in its favor. We need to make it lopside somehow."

Charles Magellean: "Great idea. How do we pull it off?"
Aetos: "I'm gunna try to see what this thing can do, before it does it!" *Mimic!*

Charles Magellean: "We need a plan."
Metal Man (GM): The attack kinda hits it and deals no damage.
Tridus: "Cut off THAT foot? Impossible. I'm just gonna give it a hotfoot." *Throws two Ball Lightning attacks into that thing's foot*
Aetos wishes Wolfman was here
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* *CRIT* Unfortunately, it can't be paralyzed. But it takes 72 electric damage.
Tridus: "...If I had more energy, I could probably make my ball lightning even tougher!"
Charles Magellean: "Physical attacks not working, attacks infused with an element work normally. It's not enough, though."
Metal Man (GM): The Ionic Pillar Man starts off by... stepping on MrMonster.
Aetos tries to spot a possible weak point? heh
MrMonster: "!!!" *STEP'D!*

Aetos: "Youch..."
Metal Man (GM): Then it decides to step on Aetos.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man (GM): It moves too slowly.
MrMonster is squashed as flat as a pancake.
Aetos jumps too the side, not getting stomped on "Phew!!"
Metal Man (GM): So it fires a high-powered laser at Aetos, instantly dealing 80 damage.
Aetos gets blasted away, and Booms.
Metal Man (GM): Then it decides to step on Julian. It steps on a bunch of grass instead.
Julian Sawyer: *Rolls the hell out of the way*
Metal Man (GM): You have a sinking feeling that it can do more than step on and laser people. It's, like, trying to get rid of you like some people step on bugs. NorthEast, near the fountain. The now dried up quicksand river to the South.
Julian Sawyer: "Let's see if this works!" *Julian quickly draws Vendetta and ignites it, then dashes towards the foot of the beast that tried to step on him and uses the awesome power of LASERS to try and cut right through it.*
Metal Man (GM): And the gigantic pit to the West. Hit and hit. Does it have armor piercing on it? They bounce off as if they are whole.
Julian Sawyer: "...The hell? It's a lightsaber! It cuts through anything!"
Metal Man (GM): The stone statue person sorta chuckles at you.
Charles Magellean: "Recognize that this creation needs more than brute strength to defeat. Unfortunately, I don't have any ideas at the time other than--"
Metal Man (GM): Julian: Done with your turn?
Charles Magellean fires three rockets... at its head.
Metal Man (GM): Well, I'll take that as a yes. Nothing different, save a ranged attack.

Aetos snaps, then summons a new melee item for good measure
Metal Man (GM): Star Rod
MrMonster appears in a flash of white light...
Charles Magellean: "...Julian may be partly right about the foot."
MrMonster decides to take a big chance... He uses his powers to shift planes of existence (World Traveler) to go to the Dark World... Perhaps it'd be easier to defeat the thing there, but he's not protected against shape changing...
Charles Magellean: "Perhaps if we used enough elemental and ultra-attacks, we might be able to make it lose its balance."
Metal Man (GM): Well well well... now we've got something freaky. You try to go into the dark world, but find... it's not there. Not here, at least ..How odd. It must be only on Nintendus.
MrMonster: "Uugh... So much for that..."
Metal Man (GM): Tridus is only able to defend, thanks to the massive DR of the monster. The now angrier monster tries to punt Julian.
Julian Sawyer: "WHOA!" *Over the horizon!*
Metal Man (GM): 60 damage. Then it decides to step on MrMonster again.
Julian Sawyer: "AUUUUUUUUUUUUuuuuuugh..." *Twinkle twinkle, generic blue warp portal opens on the ground, sptting Julian out.* "...Huh? I didn't even die..."
Metal Man (GM): 120 damage.
MrMonster is stepped on and on the threshold between life and death...
Metal Man (GM): Then it lasers Charles for an instant 80 damage. It finishes off, trying to smash Tridus into bits and pieces. *DESTRUCTION 240 damage Death*
Julian Sawyer: "...Screw this, I'm overdrivin'." *Charges at the monster and... stops and pokes 3 times in the foot with his saber*
Metal Man (GM): *pokepokepoke Critical poke* How much does the critical do? You make a crack grow to a larger crack.
Julian Sawyer: *O-O-O-OVERDRIVE!* "That's more like it..."
Charles Magellean attacks the same foot with a great RAM. He attacked the same foot that Julian did, btw. *150% - 100 DR*
Metal Man (GM): The foot is made somewhat more unsteady.
Charles Magellean then proceeds to fire rockets into the bottom of the foot.
Metal Man (GM): Now it's getting really unsteady ..Better hope it doesn't fall on top of you.
Aetos curiously attacks it with "Push."
Metal Man (GM): Well, you'd have tipped it over, except... It has a rocking 5 AC. You kinda push a hole into its leg.
Aetos: "Heheh..." *He runs up to it and drills it's foot*
Metal Man (GM): 0, 0 However, the leg is looking weak. I mean, like, cracked and messed up.
Julian Sawyer: "KILL THE FOOT!"
MrMonster: "Too bad I have nothing capable of that!"
Aetos: "Same here, By the way theres still a Star Rod here... Maybe we could have him trip on it."
MrMonster casts another PK Shield before throwing a Maple Syrup at Tridus for +20 SP.
Aetos was joking
Tridus: *He grabs it and saves it for later, 'cause his SP was rejuvenated from that painful death.* "Thanks."
MrMonster: "Any time..."
Tridus: *He decides to give that thing some lightning in the foot... which looks painful.*
Metal Man (GM): *PSYCHOTIC* *VENGEFUL* 192 electric damage. *KER-POW* The leg cracks, and then it falls... Backwards.
Julian Sawyer: "Alright!"
Aetos: "Uhh."
Metal Man (GM): It falls onto its back, away from you guys.
Aetos waves to the thing
Metal Man (GM): ...It uses its second action to do one hell of a hand stand.
Aetos cries
Metal Man (GM): Now it's walking towards you on its hands... And it's angry. Again.
Julian Sawyer: "You ain't gonna be stompin' on no... bod... y?"
Metal Man (GM): It tries to 'step' on Tridus.
MrMonster: "Ummm... Isn't this just dandy?"
Julian Sawyer: "Well crap. Guess I'm gonna have to teach you to STAY down."
Metal Man (GM): *SMASH*
Aetos: "Shall we just take out an arm now?"
Metal Man (GM): *Dies, barely*
Charles Magellean: "We'll just to do the same thing with one of his hands."
Metal Man (GM): Then it decides to step on MrM. 120 damage from that.
Charles Magellean: "I suggest the right hand."
Metal Man (GM): Then it shoots a laser at Julian, and then decides to stomp on him.
Julian Sawyer: *Lasered AWAY from the "Stomp"*
MrMonster ... REALLY dies.
Metal Man (GM): Instant 80 damage to Julian. Of course, on the plus side, it'll be helpless if you blast one of its arms.
Julian Sawyer: *OUTTA HERE! Blasted into a generic blue warp portal, which turns read as Julian rises up out of it*
Metal Man (GM): The thing is now upside-down sneering at you.
Julian Sawyer: "You'se gonna PAY!" *Launches at the stature, going for the right arm at the elbow, haymaker left, haymaker right, UPPERCUT*

Charles Magellean uses his left shoulder this time. He aims at the same spot on the right hand that Gujin aimed at, and uses a Ram.

Charles Magellean arms transform, aim, and fire at the same spot twice.
Metal Man (GM): Of course, the arm itself is heavily damaged... then damaged by a exploding rockets. *BAM* *BAM*

Metal Man (GM): It's looking messed up now.
Aetos: "Humph! Like I can do anything..." *He summons the final melee item*

Aetos picks up the bob-Omb... and chucks it at the arm everyone else is attacking...
Metal Man (GM): It is so large, you can't miss it without rolling only slightly more sucktactular than that.

Metal Man (GM): Assuming that eats your turn, Tridus gives the thing a nice Psychotic Vengeful Gamma Ball Lightning to the socket. Well, that's too high to miss. Waaaaaay too high. Okay. It flies off into an alternate dimension and hits John ..Thusly somehow missing the statue.
Julian Sawyer: "... The hell was that?"
Tridus: "...Last time I aim at a hole in existence."
Charles Magellean: "Something wasted."
Julian Sawyer: "Crazy..."
Metal Man (GM): He moves to stomp... *Crack* He falls.. ..Towards everyone.
MrMonster: "Oooh... NOT GOOD!"
Metal Man (GM): *Smashed for 50 damage*
Aetos's eyes widen and leap out of their sockets
MrMonster probably dies...
Metal Man (GM): Julian escapes it.

MrMonster survives! ... But is crushed!
Aetos whipes the sweat off his forehead "Jeez... that was scary."
Metal Man (GM): Charles does a matrix dodge.
Julian Sawyer: "No kiddin'..."
Metal Man (GM): He sorta leaps midair and lands on top of it.
Charles Magellean rubs his nose with his index finger and smiles.
Julian Sawyer: "You ain't gonna be stompin' nobody no more!"
Metal Man (GM): The thing decides to laser Julian for an instant 80 damage.
Tridus: "Oof..."
Julian Sawyer: *Spoke to soon. LAZORED!*
Metal Man (GM): The staff begins glowing. Maybe you can use the staff to some effect.
Julian Sawyer: "...Aetos, what's that thing glowin' for?"
Aetos pulls it out from his cape. "What's goin on?"
Charles Magellean takes out his Red Chaos Emerald.
Julian Sawyer: "...Hand me that."
Aetos: "Roger." *He gives Julian the staff*
Julian Sawyer: *Take*
Metal Man (GM): What do you do with the staff, Julian?
Charles Magellean has no reaction, so he puts it back.
Julian Sawyer: "...Now what..." *Pokes the monster in the head with it?*
Metal Man (GM): You all see a gigantic flash. Then you're all momentarily unconscious...
Aetos: "Ah my eyes!"
Julian Sawyer: "JEBUS!"
Aetos: "Zzz..."
Metal Man (GM): Then you wake up around the warp altar... The monster is gone! +3000 EXP
MrMonster: "Uuugh... My head..."
Julian Sawyer: "...Alright! I'm the greatest!"
Charles Magellean: "Strange... It never hit me once."
Julian Sawyer: "Liar."
MrMonster: "Count yourself lucky..."

Tridus: "Yup. Let's use the warp spot to get to him."

Charles Magellean: "We got some walking to do."

Charles Magellean heads back down from the plateau to the canyon where they found the Star Boards.
Metal Man (GM): Charles: The warp spot could instantly take you to the village.
