Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 226: Robotic Repetition

S-001: "Eliminate class IV enemy."
Julian Sawyer: "C'mon!"
Metal Man (GM): It turns to Julian. A red aiming reticule is projected onto him. Then it fires a stream of laser at Julian.
Aetos: "Class 4?"
Metal Man (GM): SPD check for Julian. You succeed, but the attack hits for half damage. 35 electric damage.
Julian Sawyer: "Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): Then it walks up to you. Its left fist is empowered with the Omega sign, then it punches at you.
Julian Sawyer: *POW*
Aetos cringes
Metal Man (GM): 95 damage.
Aetos: "Are you OK??"
Metal Man (GM): It then decides to finish you off with lasers. Lots of lasers. 15 damage per hit.
Julian Sawyer is punched the cross the room, and lands on the floor... He ain't movin'...And then he's bombarded by lasers! They all seem to miss his lifeless body, though *Out Of Lives, Out Of Fight*
S-001: "Priority one enemy terminated."
Charles Magellean: "...Crap." *He risks becoming a more priority class enemy and gets out the Star Rod on his first action. He then prays, using some of its power to revitalize Julian by using Revive.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is revived, according to the way I said it works when you got the Star Rod.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
S-001: "Priority one target is online again. Attack list reverted to previous state."
Julian Sawyer blinks a bit, then gets up and cracks his neck. "Now you've pissed me off." He then starts glowing red. Vengeful!
MrMonster takes a few steps towards the robot and SLAMS his fist into his foe's side... Hopefully making a dent.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. You do, indeed, dent the robot.
MrMonster then slashes the robot with Racualk.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. The sword actually bounces off of it.
Aetos: "Well, I don' hafta revive Julian this turn... so lets give it another heavy hit!" *He shish kebobs the robot 2 times*
Metal Man (GM): Two hits.
Charles Magellean has added Revive as a power of the Star Rod.
Aetos then defends
S-001: "Alternate attack program engaged."
Metal Man (GM): It walks over to Aetos, and goes to pick him up by the scruff of the neck. Opposed STR checks. It picks him up and hurls him at Julian like a missile.
Aetos: "Waaaaah!!!!! Ack!!!"
Metal Man (GM): *KABOOM*
Julian Sawyer: "GAH!" *POW*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos takes his own AC + Julian's in damage. Julian takes Aetos's AC + 30 damage. It then goes to take Charles's Star Rod from him. Opposed STR checks.
Aetos: *Critical failed his mort check*
Metal Man (GM): *Aetos dies*
Aetos lies there next to Julian
Julian Sawyer: *Ha-ha! Barely harmed! Gets back up after being knocked down by a flying Aetos.* "That all you got?"
Metal Man (GM): It takes the Star Rod. What things can it do at the rod's current SP?
Aetos's leg does an after-death twitch
Metal Man (GM): It menacingly points the rod at Julian as if to mock him.
Charles Magellean: *Basically all its powers.*
Metal Man (GM): It waves the rod at Julian. LIGHTNING
Julian Sawyer: "You threatin' me?"
Metal Man (GM): *CRACKLECRACKLECRACKLE* Instant 90 electric damage to Julian. As three lightning bolts fly out of the rod and blast him.
Julian Sawyer: "AUGH!" *Lifted off his feet on that one... but stays alive thanks to the spirit of vengeance. Gets back up, smoking.* "Is that all you got? I'm disappointed."
Metal Man (GM): It makes a defensive stance with the Star Rod.
S-001: "I can and will use your own powerful items against you."
Charles Magellean: "After you're done with it, will you give it back?"
Julian Sawyer then rears back, as his fist charges up with red energy "Now you gonna get it!" *Julian then launches towards the robot, and delivers a PUNISHING Haymaker to the robot's head, maybe rattling it and causing it to drop the Star Rod*
S-001: "If you survive, then I doubt I will be in enough pieces to give it to you."
Metal Man (GM): Hit... though that's a poor roll. So it doesn't drop the Star Rod. Pretty much the same... it has so much strength! All you accomplish is giving it a punch to the head.
Julian Sawyer: *Bah!*
Metal Man (GM): A DEADLY punch to the head, yes. But the Star Rod is clearly not gonna be disarmed unless you can overpower it.
Julian Sawyer: *All the same... that's a whopping 600 Damage to the Robot, thanks to a combination of Stylish Hits and vengeance*
Metal Man (GM): You punch it HARD. The head is all cracked, and crumbles. Which reveals.... Another layer of armor underneath? Its head is also still functioning.
Julian Sawyer: "..." *CENSORED!*
S-001: "Your attack is powerful but inadequete."
Aetos: "Jesus..."
Charles Magellean: "Bahamut, indeed."
Metal Man (GM): Anything else?
Julian Sawyer: *Gets back to the group, his red aura gone and breathing hard. He's on his last legs after that Lightning*
Metal Man (GM): I see.
MrMonster: "... Perhaps we continue striking the head."
Julian Sawyer: "dammit... That -CENSORED-ed cheats..."
Charles Magellean: "You always seem to be in a bad mood with robots."
Julian Sawyer: "Hate robots... nothing ever works on them, and they always seem to attack me first..."
Charles Magellean moves his mouth around. He opens it, adding some spices into his mouth. A pilot light forms, and he exhales breath. He breathes out Dodongo's breath.
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Charles Magellean: *44 fire damage.*
Metal Man (GM): You burn the robot for a bit of damage.
Julian Sawyer: "Use the -CENSORED-ing rockets!"
Charles Magellean: "I have to vary my techniques every once in a while to see what's effective."
S-001: "The effectiveness of -CENSORED-ing rockets may not be very much."
Julian Sawyer: "And from what I've seen, the rockets have been VERY effective! So use them!"
Charles Magellean: "...Oh you did not say that..."
S-001: "I cannot lie. You will be destroyed."
Aetos: "Hmm... Mr Robot, What is your weak point?"
S-001: "I have no weak spots."
Charles Magellean arms form together to form Demolition Man's cannon.
Aetos: "Well, how about your weakEST spot?"
Julian Sawyer: "AIM FOR THE HEAD!"
S-001: "You have already noticed how slowly I move. That is obvious enough."
Charles Magellean: "You did NOT just use an unholy swear that precedes the word rocket."
S-001: "That is a lie."
Aetos: "One last hopeful question, what is the best way to kill you?"
Charles Magellean: "You are right, I meant the word rockets." *He aims for the head.* "FIRE!"
S-001: "I am unbeatable, all simulations have been for a 95% chance of intruder destruction."
Charles Magellean: "SHADUP!"
Metal Man (GM): Hit and hit.
S-001: "Invalid command. Please read the user's manual."
Charles Magellean: *70% each*
Aetos: "...Shut down?"
S-001: "Error: Intruders are not allowed access to key commands."
Aetos: "But... I'm not an intruder..."
MrMonster fires a Beta Sword Shot at the thing's head, hoping it actually does something... He then tries Confusion move on it.
S-001: "That is a lie."
Metal Man (GM): Oooh! Critical miss. >.< Or, in announcer fashion, 'CRIT-I-CAL MISS'
Aetos wonders how people broke the robots by using paradox's on TV...
Metal Man (GM): And hit.
Aetos: "Um, Robot, if a tree falls in a forest, and no one is there to hear it, does it make a noise?"
Metal Man (GM): It turns around and unleashes an electrical wave attack on everyone.
S-001: "It makes the one you make while being electricuted."
Metal Man (GM): Aetos's ghost is electricuted and dies. XP 35 electric damage to MrMonster and Charles.
MrMonster doesn't jump in time... But his shield absorbs the damage and dissipates.
Metal Man (GM): But does it have even a slight chance of hitting Julian? Misses Julian.
Julian Sawyer: "You can't hit nothin'..."
Aetos's body shines white and reappears at his spot, hegains a white aura around him and his eyes shine "You shall not win!" he speeds up to the robot and impales it where that black shield is... He trips backward and lands on his face...
Metal Man (GM): Aaaand Aetos does his own critical miss. He takes his own Vengeful attack, falling down and being impaled by his own vengeful attack. Too late. Also, doubling to-hit is PSYCHOTIC, not Vengeful.
Aetos then absorbs 100 rings...
Metal Man (GM): Ummm... what damage do you take from your own vengeful impale?
Julian Sawyer: "...Y'know, you could give those to me..."
Metal Man (GM): Because for the purposes of a crit miss, you're your own killer. Okay, you take 84 damage, then you heal it away.
Julian Sawyer: "But no, you preserve your own life. I'm only the team's hit-taker."
Metal Man (GM): The robot pretty much ignores Aetos, wanting a piece of Julian instead.
Aetos: "Sorry heh."
S-001: "Activate overkill."
Metal Man (GM): It points the rod at Julian, who is then zapped by nine lightning bolts.
Charles Magellean: "Ohhh crud."
Metal Man (GM): He takes 270 electric damage. The attack is so strong, it blows up some of the plexiglass wall and then wall behind it. Okay, three lightning bolts.
Julian Sawyer: "C'mon. Finish me off you metallic *CensORRRRRRRED*!"
Metal Man (GM): Either way, it's one heck of a deadly attack. And it instantly hits... And you can tell the stupid robot just wasted a ton of SP.
Julian Sawyer is blasted into a wall and crumples upon hitting it, landing face down and not moving
Metal Man (GM): SP which it could have been using to heal itself.
Charles Magellean: "...That machine is a complete... !"
Metal Man (GM): There IS something behind that hole in the wall. However, if you turned your back on the machine, your back would be full of holes.
Charles Magellean gets swirls in his eyes, muttering ancient language. Opposed INT Checks.
Metal Man (GM): GASP! You have discovered the pitfall to a cheap minmaxing enemy. The fact that it has no brain. Or at least, a weak one. What do you do with it, for the precious few seconds you have it NOT about to obliterate you?
MrMonster summons up a Beta PK Shield, making sure he won't be destroyed by this robot...
Metal Man (GM): You sense... if you don't take the Star Rod from it, it'll probably charge up and then blow everybody up with lightning sooner or later. still. He has to decide what to do with the robot for two actions.
Charles Magellean: "Give me the---" *He shakes his head.* "Put the Star Rod down."
Metal Man (GM): It puts the Star Rod on the ground by its feet.
Aetos looks to the robot then Charles, "Wha?"
Charles Magellean: "Turn 180 degrees. Face that way for 10 seconds."
Metal Man (GM): It turns around and remains that way for one action's worth of time. This taking all of your concentration to hold; however, other people can take advantage of it.
Charles Magellean looks to Mr. M. He doesn't then. But talks.
Metal Man (GM): The first action of Aetos and MrM, they may move without penalty.
Charles Magellean: "Mr. Monster, Young Ward! I can't hold him for long... find out what's in that hole!"
Aetos blinks "Sure."
MrMonster: "... Young? I'm probably over ten times as old as you!"
S-001: "Attempting to regain control of lateral servos."
Metal Man (GM): So then... You guys running into the hole? Okay. Aetos runs into the hole. Aetos: You discover it is a hole. The non-lethal variety, but safety assured you exit the battle early.
MrMonster would glance back TOWARDS the hole, but not go in it...
Metal Man (GM): You hear Aetos go 'Aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!' down the hole before his voice fades out of range. MrMonster: What do you do?
MrMonster: "..."
Aetos: "Aaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): You have both actions. Your turn. Aetos used his turn to enter... THE SECRET HOLE OF DOOM
MrMonster summons up a Beta PK Shield, making sure he won't be destroyed by this robot... He also downs a Maple Syrup, ending his turn.
Metal Man (GM): S-001 breaks free of the control. He takes one action to pick up the rod. It appears to have liked the effect that hole had on Aetos. So it walks up to Charles and decides to pick him up. Then it hurls him at the hole in the wall. Charles: SPD check to avoid falling into the hole.
S-001: "Defending the control room is primary objective. If nonviolent success is possible, it is to be utilized."
MrMonster: "... Why are you defending this place?"
Metal Man (GM): Charles manages to avoid the hole.
Charles Magellean puts his arms out to avoid his hole body going in.
Metal Man (GM): It decides to loot Julian's corpse. It procures Julian's corpse.
S-001: "To protect the security settings, you must be taken out of this area. I shall now defeat you."
MrMonster: "... Although our violent ways may not show it, we are not here to tamper with anything."
Metal Man (GM): It walks to MrMonster and begins to assault him with Julian's corpse and the Star Rod.
MrMonster: "... We just want to investigate this---Hey!"
Metal Man (GM): *THWACK* *THWACK* MrMonster is hit by a corpse and a dull object. A total of 50 damage is dealt. The monster's back is turned to Charles.
MrMonster is smacked back and his shield deactivated...
Metal Man (GM): Charles could obviously see it was using Julian's corpse as a deadly weapon.
Charles Magellean: "...Strangely, I found that Julian is more useful now than when he was alive?"
Metal Man (GM): It turns around to face Locos. It uses Julian's body as a shield.
Charles Magellean: "Look to me. Okay, right now, I'm angry about what the hell you're doing. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"
S-001: "You tampered with my circuitry."
Charles Magellean shouted and exhales heavily. "As long as you're Solarian technology, I will continue to fight for my right of being here!"
Metal Man (GM): On the plus side, it looks damaged. On the negative side, it looks like you could crash into it with a small spacecraft and it'd survive to attack you with dead bodies.
Charles Magellean: "Well!? Are you Solarian?!! HMMMM!???!" *He gets righ up to face height with the robot with the Hmmm.*
MrMonster: "... Is there any way you'd allow us to just explore this place... And... Not kill us?"
S-001: "Protocol error. Unknown question. You must vacate the area immediately."
Metal Man (GM): It points at the hole.
S-001: "You shall not be permitted to return."
Charles Magellean: "I ain't budgin' willingly until I know what's going on."
S-001: "I do not know what you mean. Please leave."
MrMonster: "... So you will allow the people who want to just leave to leave?"
S-001: "I am not made for diplomacy. If you leave immediately, I will not attack you. This is a priority one area. It must be protected at all costs."
Charles Magellean: "Allow me to respond... in the following." *He disappears... then reappears to the right of the robot. He attempts to steal back the Rod.*
MrMonster: "... Throw the lifeless body down the hole, and I will gladly comply."
Metal Man (GM): Whoops. STEAL. Yeah. It blocks you in slow-motion. You wonder if all that trash talking made you feel stiff.
Charles Magellean: "Rrrrr... You make a forceful point. Yet..." *He disappears and reappears to the side of S-001 again.*
Julian Sawyer: *STEAL'D*
Metal Man (GM): Now! It's time to see what you grab! You grab Julian's dead corpse!
Charles Magellean: "I make a forceful point too."
S-001: "There is your corpse."
MrMonster: "... Please throw the corpse down the hole..."
S-001: "And here is your lightning to the head."
Metal Man (GM): *BZZZZZT* 90 electric damage to Charles.
Charles Magellean is fried. He walks away, ending his turn. Corpse in tow?
Metal Man (GM): Yes. Corpse in tow. Charles falls into the pit. That leaves... the lone MrMonster ranger.
S-001: "Leave now and you will not be hurt."
MrMonster: "... I take it you won't give back that rod, huh?" *He says this while moving slowly and non-threateningly towards the hole.*
S-001: "Fetch."
Metal Man (GM): It hurls the rod into the hole.
MrMonster: "..." *He watches the rod fly down the hole and hops down a few seconds afterwards.*
Metal Man (GM): *END OF PART I SECRET UNLOCKED* EXP: 3000 Coins: 1000 And... the secret you unlocked, will be revealed soon. In the last quest.... The Questers climbed to the top of two highly treacherous mountains. After crossing an ancient familiar bridge, they reached a Security Control Room. Unfortunately, this room was as protected by security as much as it controlled the security. Before anyone could so much as touch anything, a robot named S-001 was deployed to remove the Questers. Towards the end of that arduous battle, the metallic fiend stole the Star Rod and used it to crispy fry Julian with lightning. It was hopeless. The thing had too much armor and way too much strength to be overpowered. However, the deadly lightning fried a big hole open in the side of the room. The Questers fled into that hole. Well.... As we rejoin them, the Questers who leaped into the hole have landed on the bottom of that short pit. A warp point here nearby suddenly activated, spitting out some more Questers. Then it faded.... Everybody (Besides Deloth and Traon and VG/Wolf) is now at this dark bottom of a pit. All that can be seen is a small exit nearby. There's some light coming from it.
Metal Man: "Ow... my head. I shouldn't have dozed through whatever was going on earlier..."
Julian Sawyer: "Urrrgh..." *Julian revives, and stands up slowly* "Hate robots..."
Aetos: "Well... there's an exit right there..." *Sharp eyes this room just incase there is something... secret here.*
Charles Magellean moves in various and unusual ways and hear cracking from neck to thigh. He gets up, looking for the Star Rod.
Julian Sawyer: "How'd I get down here?"
Metal Man (GM): Nothing can really be found that is 'secret' here; just being here is something you didn't know was possible. The Star Rod is laying on the floor.
Metal Man: "Well... I don't know, really. It looks like this is a cave."
Aetos picks up the star rod, and hands it to... "Who's was this?"... "It's the star rod."
Charles Magellean goes to pick up. He then examines it, cleans the 7 foot long sucker, then puts it away in his sack.
Jinarceg: "...ouch. How do you guys get so rumpled each day?!"
Charles Magellean: "This is the last time I will use it for a while. Everybody accounted for?"
Julian Sawyer: "Think so..."
Metal Man: "I think so."
Charles Magellean: "What about the unconscious Mr Monster?"
Metal Man: "He'll wake up soon enough. I want to see what's up ahead of that hole."
Garrick Fy`aar is with the group as well, moving over to Mr. Monster and slinging him over his back
Charles Magellean: "Check it out, by all means."
Jinarceg: "Let's hope that it's not like that weird figure of speech. Yano, don't go to the light?"
Aetos: "Heh..." *He goes up to the light and peeks into the next room or whatever is behind it*
Metal Man shrugs and enters the doorway.
Metal Man (GM): You see...
Charles Magellean cracks his knuckles.
Julian Sawyer: *Heads into the doorway*
Metal Man (GM): ...You're astounded. You see an underground mechanical area. A large underground pit is below, and conduits cross it.
Jinarceg draws his sword and follows.
Metal Man (GM): There's a hole in one sitting on your side of the pit.
Julian Sawyer: "...Weren't we just here?"
Metal Man: "I don't think so."
Charles Magellean reloads his guns. He crosses the doorway.
Metal Man (GM): This pit is like a canyon.
Jinarceg: "Think it echoes?"
Julian Sawyer: "Does it matter?"
Jinarceg: "...It'd be cool?"
Julian Sawyer: "Shut up."
Charles Magellean: "Of course no---hey, this place does seem familiar in a sense."
Metal Man (GM): You can see that it's sort of a zigzag. Crossing one conduit, then going down another one, etc. The conduits themselves are huge. Too slippery to climb, but you can walk inside. The rather large holes in the sides make them convenient bridges. The hum of electricity echoes through this land. You can see electrical equipment about.
Aetos: "Think... we can... shut this down or something... guys?"
Metal Man: "Why shut it down?"
Aetos looks panicked "I fear electricity..."
Charles Magellean: "So much to offer."
Julian Sawyer: "Too bad."
Metal Man: "Well, there's no off button anywhere, just conduits."
Aetos: "Well let's just go then..."
Jinarceg claps his hands.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...oh, you're awake."
MrMonster groans, beginning to wake up from... Falling on his head... That's a good excuse.
Jinarceg: "Just hope that some sort of lightning elemental comes down, Aetos."
Metal Man enters the conduit.
Garrick Fy`aar sets Mr. Monster down on his feet
Metal Man: "Woah! It's crazy in here."
Jinarceg follows after Metal.
Julian Sawyer: *Follows the leader*
Aetos: "Why would I hope that?"
Metal Man (GM): Inside the conduit is a variety of wires. There's also...
Aetos goes in also...
MrMonster thanks Garrick and follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): Arcs of electricity, electric fans, and turrets.
Jinarceg: "...Turrets... evil."
Garrick Fy`aar: "...why are we here again?"
Metal Man (GM): You'd have to run between a metallic fan, leap by a bunch of electrified wires, then run past a variety of turrets.
Metal Man: "To escape this area, I guess. You were probably summoned to help us."
Charles Magellean quickly gets over the sight of this Pit of wonders. He walks backwards to make no one is following.
Metal Man (GM): No followers, just Questers. You'll all need a SPD check to cross all of these hazards and get to the other side.
MrMonster: "My, what a nice deadly gauntlet of traps."
Jinarceg: "I wish I had one of those helping guide thingies."
Metal Man attempts to run through but steps on a electric wire. "Ooooooouch!"
Metal Man (GM): *15 damage*
Aetos's face turns pale.
Julian Sawyer: "I'll go next..."
Metal Man (GM): Julian runs through with grace. Nothing hits him.
Julian Sawyer: "Can't hit nothin'!"
MrMonster sighs, takes a deep breath, casts PK Shield on himself to protect against turret fire, and dashes and dodges through this obstacle course.
Metal Man (GM): Garrick gets clipped by the fan and then shocked on his way through. 40 damage.
Jinarceg blesses himself before running through.
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster gets through without a problem, as does Jina.
Jinarceg gasps.
Aetos: "Heh..."
Jinarceg: "Omaigawd! I got through a trap! Happy day!"
Aetos tries to sprint through
Metal Man (GM): Aetos discovers the pain of fans, electricity, and lasers on his way through.
Charles Magellean stretches to the left, then to the right. He turns around and sees the traps. A fan can be dealt with, but he'll give fate in the twisted mind that are his legs.
Metal Man (GM): He takes a total of 80 damage.
Jinarceg whistles. "You alright, Aetos?"
Charles Magellean gets another second wind to cheat this unfortunate fate.
Aetos: "Sorta..." *He almost faints*
Metal Man (GM): Charcles runs into the fan, which spins around the other direction and launches him into electrified wires. Then he's sent into the lasers and launched out as everyone is blown out of the pipe. 150 electric damage to Charles.
Jinarceg whistles. "Ouch."
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Everybody's on the other side now, although Charles's hairdo will never be the same.
Metal Man: "No turning back, I guess."
Julian Sawyer: "You alright man?"
Charles Magellean is extremely crispy. He has short movements, but they count more as spasms.
Jinarceg: "...Apparently someone ordered him extra rare."
Metal Man: "Isn't that well done?"
MrMonster: "There was no turning back before... Unless you wanted to climb up to a room with a killer robot." *Looks about to see where they could go next.*
Julian Sawyer: "No one-liners plase..."
Jinarceg: "What, no corney jokes?!"
Julian Sawyer: "Yes." *Moves on*
Metal Man (GM): The way ahead is through a mechanical hallway. This hallway is built into the rock. A maintenance hallway.
Jinarceg pokes the well-done/extremely rare Charles before heading through.
Metal Man (GM): It's lit up and everything. High tech.
Charles Magellean gets up easily, getting creaks outta his neck.
Aetos continues.
Metal Man (GM): You can see another conduit across, although it is sunken into the ground, and thus you must walk across the top.
Jinarceg: "...Nice. I'd hate to pay the--corney joke rule, right."
Charles Magellean says, "I'll remember that lame pun," as he goes to catch up with the others.
MrMonster continues forward as well...
Metal Man (GM): Julian, walking in front, sees the electrified conduit. You'd all notice something else, though. Weird floating platforms, floating in a circle around the electrified conduit. They would take you to yet another side, but you have to jump just right to get to them.
Julian Sawyer: "That looks like our way across..."
Jinarceg: "I hate three things; traps, rocks, and jumping... ugh."
Metal Man goes to jump atop a platform.
Charles Magellean: "Another platforming day it seems."
Metal Man gets on it and gets across. "It's easy!"
Aetos jumps up to the platform closest
Julian Sawyer: *Makes a leap to a platform*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos gets across via a platform.
Jinarceg goes for the gold jump.
Julian Sawyer: *CRITICAL JUMP*
Metal Man (GM): Julian leaps onto a platform and gets across as well. Jina needs a second jump.
Garrick Fy`aar makes a leap for this platform...
Metal Man (GM): Which succeeds.
MrMonster takes a step or two back then gets a running leap towards the platform.
Jinarceg sweats like a pig, then curls into a ball. "Iactuallyjumpedapit!"
Metal Man (GM): Garrick barely makes it across, while MrMonster gets across with gusto.
Garrick Fy`aar swings his arms to regain his balance, but rights himself and sighs
Julian Sawyer: "Will you shut up? It's not a big deal."
Metal Man (GM): One last empty conduit to walk through. It's totally empty, and safe.
Charles Magellean makes it guess work now. He turns around, waits five seconds, then makes a backflip!
Metal Man (GM): Charles needs a secondary jump.
Jinarceg stands up. "Excuse me for my jokeative nature."
Charles Magellean takes out his guns, combines them, charges, then makes a blast big enough for some kind of recoil to happen.
Metal Man (GM): Charles makes it across. The one conduit left has mist coming out of it. It is safe but... mysterious.
Julian Sawyer: "...Right, so we're all here? Good."
Charles Magellean separates the guns into two again.
Jinarceg: "So... what now?"
Aetos: "We cross? Or... go?"
Julian Sawyer: "Someone go across first."
MrMonster: "... I will."
Aetos holds his numb left arm.
MrMonster walks up to the conduit and looks at it... Trying to see if there are any noticeable dangers.
Jinarceg: "Good luck."
Metal Man (GM): It's dark, but not much else.
MrMonster unsheaths Miirnalk... The scimitar gives off a pale white glow as he enters the conduit.
Metal Man (GM): You notice some wires... carefully modified ones. Someone cut these wires and re-routed them to whatever is ahead.
Julian Sawyer: "Anything, Monster?"
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster: You see, up ahead, a somewhat lit up, more open part of the cave. Vaguely, there's some sort of... ruined fortress there. It is ancient and blackened, but... flickering lights are in the windows, and a small batallion of... something... is guarding the front door.
MrMonster: "I'm no expert with electronics and such, but some of these wires look tampered with... And I think that opens up to a larger area ahead. ... Looks like ruins ahead... Or something."
Metal Man (GM): A ruined concrete wall is in front of it; it no longer provides protection for the fortress.
Julian Sawyer: "No traps?"
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster gets a chill down his spine looking at it. It looks... familiar, but... evil.
MrMonster shudders and continues to wait for the others. "None that I've triggered."
Julian Sawyer: "Safe, then." *Moves on with Monster*
Aetos walks up to Mr.M and follows everyone... "alright..."
Charles Magellean looks both ways for some reason and moves along.
Jinarceg goes on!
MrMonster waits for the others to get closer to him before entering this larger area, scimitar still in hand.
Metal Man follows.
Metal Man (GM): Everybody feels the chill from looking at this fortress.
Garrick Fy`aar whistles...
Metal Man (GM): As you walk towards it, you notice a broken glass dome, 6 feet in diameter, set into the ground.
Julian Sawyer: "...I got a bad feelin' about this... But we got nowhere else to go..."
Jinarceg: "...10 coins to the one who goes in there and yells 'Hunny, I'm home!'"
Charles Magellean: "Brr! It's cold here."
Metal Man (GM): The broken concrete wall has a variety of wires running through it. You can see the front of the fortress ahead. Five blue robots, each incredibly streamlined, patrol the entrance. They have shields and pikes... and they don't look nice.
Julian Sawyer: "This place must have been pretty imposing before it got smashed like this... ...Great. More robots..."
Metal Man (GM): They look VERY familiar to the old Questers.
Garrick Fy`aar: "I suggest we try avoiding those suckers..."
Jinarceg: "Thing they don't like jolts? ...I'm good at jolting."
Metal Man (GM): They block the entrance with their guard formation.
Julian Sawyer: "No kiddin'..."
Garrick Fy`aar would be considered old? He tries to remember where he saw these things last...
Metal Man (GM): Indeed. A mountain like this one... you didn't see these things there, but you remember this fortress.
MrMonster: "... I agree with Garrick." *The Trulander looks about from the entrance to this cave to see if there may be any other things of interest besides the fortress.*
Metal Man (GM): Supposedly it had been obliterated. The fortess is the only thing of interest at the moment.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...those robots..."
Julian Sawyer: "What about 'em?"
Garrick Fy`aar: "They're... familiar. This whole place looks familiar."
Julian Sawyer: "...Huh?"
Charles Magellean: "Perhaps. Yet that isn't the concern at the present moment."
Jinarceg: "Hawh... be funny if we were in the future or something."
Garrick Fy`aar: "Charles, I'm serious. This looks all wrong..."
Charles Magellean: "I know you're serious, but let's familiarize later."
Julian Sawyer: "What do you think we should do then, Charles?"
Charles Magellean reloads his guns. "It's time to take action."
Garrick Fy`aar: "I'm not liking this at all... I think we need to stay quiet, stay low, and not cause trouble. Let's just keep moving, WITHOUT the guns blazing."
Charles Magellean holsters his guns, hearing the wisdom in Garrick's words.
Julian Sawyer: "So how are we gonna get past 'em?"
Metal Man: "...What he said. Anything that survived whatever happened to the stuff here has to be paranoid."
Garrick Fy`aar: "The art of invisibility."
Jinarceg: "I think we're counteracting being silent now."
Julian Sawyer: "They can't hear us. Otherwise they'd be over here by now."
Garrick Fy`aar looks around for a rock...
Metal Man (GM): There's plenty or rocks. Rubble everywhere.
Charles Magellean: "That art is... well let's just say that that art form is a 'puzzle' to us."
Metal Man (GM): Concrete, natural, even some concrete embedded in natural rocks.
Julian Sawyer: "What are you lookin' for?"
Jinarceg thinks for a moment.
Garrick Fy`aar picks one up. About... the size of a baseball. He maneuvers his way over to where he can get a good throw at a location away from the door and themselves...
Jinarceg: "Methinks he's a commando..."
Metal Man (GM): You move there, thanks to all the rubble everywhere.
Julian Sawyer: "...Oh, I see."
Metal Man (GM): They stand by the door as usual.
Aetos looks to see if there is a button or pulley, anything that can open the door...
Metal Man (GM): The door has no buttons or 'Defeat all enemies' switches or 'Easy way in' things. In fact, it's locked, heavily armored... and maybe even force fielded.
Jinarceg: "Anyone gonna make a bet if Commando succeeds?"
Charles Magellean: "No bets, gambler."
Aetos: "Well even if he does... what are we going to do then?"
Garrick Fy`aar takes a deep breath, locates a good spot away from the Questers and the door, then chucks the rock toward that location. He makes sure that they don't see the rock, just hear the noise of it clacking against the ground
Julian Sawyer: "Depends on if these things have ears..."
Metal Man (GM): They hear the noise... all they do is sit there.
Julian Sawyer: "dammit."
Jinarceg: "THAT plan got shot to hell."
Julian Sawyer: "So much for a distraction."
Metal Man (GM): They do have ears, indeed. Just not the mind to walk towards every noise they hear.
MrMonster attempts to walk along the outskirts of the cavern to the other side of it to see if there's anything.
Jinarceg: "...So, who's charging in?"
Metal Man (GM): The fortress is partially embedded into the wall, so there's no way to the other side.
Julian Sawyer: *Uses Sharp Eyes to see if there are any holes in the wall he could squeeze through in the wall*
Charles Magellean: "Ahh, they've been trained in the rules. Rule 160, I believe."
Jinarceg sits on the rubble.
Julian Sawyer: "There's always a hole..."
Metal Man (GM): There are no such holes. It appears to have been maintained.
Julian Sawyer: *CONTRADICT'D*
Garrick Fy`aar looks for a ventilation duct
Metal Man (GM): No ventilation anywhere.
Julian Sawyer: *Looks for ANY way to sneak inside except the door*
Aetos looks for a sewage pipe?
Metal Man (GM): There's some heavily shielded and protected windows up above on the front of the fortress.
MrMonster: "... Ahh... Robots? Are you capable of answering questions?"
Metal Man (GM): There are no sewers either.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The robots do nothing to respond to MrMonster
Jinarceg glances at Metal. "You've been fairly silent... what's yer take?"
Julian Sawyer: "Don't talk to them. ...Looks like the only way in is through that door..."
Charles Magellean: "Let's try an indirect yet direct approach."
Julian Sawyer: "What? Shoot them from over here with your Bazooka? Try and cause a cave-in?"
Charles Magellean: "Gradual appearance."
Julian Sawyer: "...Huh?"
Jinarceg blinks. "...Does the guy in the suit even talk?"
Metal Man: "They don't appear to talk."
MrMonster decides to inch towards the robots...
Jinarceg yawns. "Is anyone even listening to me?"
Julian Sawyer: "No."
Aetos: "What guy in what suit? There are a couple people in suits here..."
Jinarceg shrugs before turning to look at the robots. "I guess. ...Why don't we just fight them?"
Metal Man (GM): MrMonster: As you get closer, they merely look at you.
Charles Magellean: "Because that is a very blind tactic."
Aetos: "I don't know... but I hate robots."
Julian Sawyer: "That's my attitude."
Metal Man (GM): They appear to be guarding the door. And aren't going to attack you... until you start getting closer. Then they point at you with their pikes.
MrMonster stops. "I take it you won't let us through?"
Aetos watches closely.
Jinarceg: "...They're robots! They don't talk!"
Metal Man (GM): They do not respond. They merely motion for you to back off.
Aetos: "Robots can talk..."
Julian Sawyer: "That one back there did..."
Charles Magellean: "That has proven to be inaccurate, new one."
Metal Man: "They don't appear to want to fight unless they have to."
Jinarceg: "...Well, they don't neogiate!"
Aetos: "True... sigh."
Julian Sawyer: "But that's the only way past them..."
MrMonster goes back to the others. "... Did anyone else see any other way out of here?"
Julian Sawyer: "Unless we can break those windows and get up there..."
Charles Magellean stands about 4 feet behind Monster. He then proceeds to move 4 feet to the right.
Metal Man (GM): They watch Charles carefully.
MrMonster goes back out of the conduit and looks around to see if there are any other conduits or pathways they may have missed.
Metal Man (GM): No other pathways.
Charles Magellean: "Faith. Passion. Odor." *He tilts his head slightly.*
Julian Sawyer: "...What the hell is he doing?"
Charles Magellean: "One word. Nepotism. Surrounds."
Jinarceg: "...Not gonna ask."
Aetos: "No idea... but he mentioned Odor..."
Metal Man (GM): They merely point at him with their pikes.
MrMonster heads back to the others...
Charles Magellean tilts his head again.
Aetos: "Hmm..."
Charles Magellean: "Bathwater. Horse. Colloquials."
Aetos tries his best to sneak past the robots, while they watch Charles...
Julian Sawyer: "...Is he trying to confuse them or something?"
Metal Man (GM): Two of them turn around quickly and get in Aetos's way.
Aetos: "Sigh."
Metal Man (GM): The only way to 'get past them' involves walking directly into their pikes. The pikes they are using are definitely intended to deter people from walking by.
Aetos: "I have a polearm too! wanna see?"
Julian Sawyer: *...How tall are they?*
Metal Man (GM): They are each 6 feet tall.
Aetos pulls out his spear "It's pretty, huh?"
Charles Magellean: "Realms. Tallys. Let us in."
Julian Sawyer: *Are they the only thing preventing the door from opening?*
Charles Magellean: "Phrases that are meaningless. A guy walks into a bar. The heavens and the wife are watching."
Julian Sawyer: *No locks or anything?*
Metal Man (GM): They are blocking the locked door. They continue to be in the way.
Julian Sawyer: *Visible lock?*
Metal Man (GM): There is no visible lock, it must be electronically locked. It's heavily armored and even appears to have a force field.
Charles Magellean touches the side of the pike then pulls it back with a jerking motion.
Julian Sawyer: "Dammit... We're gonna have to fight 'em..."
MrMonster: "Yeah... No use avoiding that farther."
Jinarceg: "...Robots are weak to electrilcy stuff, right?"
Julian Sawyer: *Moves up to join Charles*
Charles Magellean unholsters his guns.
Julian Sawyer: "What were you trying to do, anyway?"
Charles Magellean: "Banzai. Annihilate. Corruption."
MrMonster shrugs before starting towards the robots... His PK Shield should still be active.
Aetos continues to stand net to the 2 robots
Charles Magellean: "Beauty pageant."
Julian Sawyer: "...Right..."
Metal Man (GM): They just stay in the way.
Charles Magellean: "Oxyclean forever."
Jinarceg walks up to the fighting line.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Aetos: "So uh... how about you put down those weapons?"
Jinarceg: "...He scares me."
Metal Man (GM): ...They suddenly decide to stab Charles en masse.
Julian Sawyer: *Picks up a rock and chucks it at one of robots' head*
Metal Man (GM): Needless to say, Charles is KO'd.
Julian Sawyer: *BATTLE*
Jinarceg: "...Methinks we are screwed."
Metal Man (GM): 26 damage per hit; they stop attacking you when you're unconsious, so they don't kill you.
Julian Sawyer: "Not yet. We gotta see how durable they are..."
Aetos: "Um..."
Julian Sawyer: "Then we'll know if we're screwed or not."
Metal Man (GM): Questers vs. Guard Robot Batallion.
Aetos hops backward toward the other questers
Metal Man (GM): These guys are FAST.
Jinarceg: "Is fighting these guys really a GOOD idea?! I mean... look what happened to the other guy!"
Metal Man (GM): They form up into a triangle formation, blocking entrance to the door.
MrMonster: "... Do you have any better ideas?"
Metal Man (GM): One of them throws a smokebomb, which makes seeing impossible.
Jinarceg: "Running lik--ack!"
Metal Man (GM): -10 to hit for everybody this round. running is also made impossible. They then decide to attack everybody with pikes. One of them attacks Aetos twice. Aetos Metal MrMonster Jinarceg 26 damage per hit.
Metal Man dodges once, then is hit twice.
Aetos gets stabbed 'twice'...
Metal Man: "Ow!"
Aetos falls to the ground with blood coming out of his mouth.
Jinarceg is hit all the time... as usual.
MrMonster swipes one of the polearm tips wide before being punctured twice.
Jinarceg: "Gah! We're screwed!"
Metal Man (GM): Then four of them attack MrMonster simultaneously with electrified pikes. 40 electric damage per hit, and paralysis. Your attack misses. It backflips away from your attack. Like some freakish acrobat. My turn.
Metal Man: "This is gonna be tough..."
MrMonster is fried and on the ground from the stabbing.
Metal Man (GM): Garrick: Your turn, -10 to hit on all attacks due to smoke. The smoke everywhere makes vision difficult.
Garrick Fy`aar coughs through the smoke, but tries to bust a few shots into robots 1, 2, and 3 respectively
Metal Man (GM): You hear... a lot of misses. They raise up their shields to intercept the bullets. My turn now.
Metal Man: "They seem fast. It looks like I'll have to give one of them a beating!" *He runs up to one of them, in the smoke, and attempts to slap them. A lot.*
Metal Man (GM): One hit. 5 damage.
Jinarceg: "This is pitiful..."
Metal Man: "Confound this smoke, they appear to be the ultimate defending machines!"
Jinarceg: "Wouldn't it be easier just... to... yano... guard?"
Metal Man (GM): Julian gets to go after MrMonster.
Metal Man: "Not really, then we'd be attacked sooner or later."
MrMonster slowly stands back up, shaking his head and groaning... He rushes towards what he THINKS is Robot 1 and slices it twice with Miirnalk.
Metal Man (GM): Two misses. It blocks with that tough pike. The robots appear to be... a tad elite. In that they know how to fight anything.
Julian Sawyer: "I can't see a thing... But that isn't gonna stop me!" *Julian rushes the Robot that he thinks threw down the smoke bomb and punches it thrice*
Metal Man (GM): Three hits.
Jinarceg hacks blindly at the smoke before drooping into a defensive stance.
Metal Man (GM): You miss.
Aetos blindedly speeds up to (hopefully) robot #1, he tries to drill his spear into it once, then backflip away to his spot
Metal Man (GM): Two misses.
Aetos summons a melee item!
Metal Man (GM): The robot blocks with its own pike against those drill attacks.
Aetos: *Beam sword! He then tries to Mimic the ability of robot #1.*
Metal Man (GM): You gain: Smokebomb 5 uses, fills area with smoke, decreases accuracy by 10. Lasts one round.
Aetos: "Huh..."
Metal Man (GM): The smoke clears.
Aetos: "Ah! I see again!"
Julian Sawyer: "That better..."
Metal Man (GM): The robots see Julian and advance on him with their pikes.
Julian Sawyer: "...Aw gell..."
Metal Man (GM): 26 damage per hit... but they're not done yet. Their pikes are electrified, and they go to paralyze Julian. A lot.
Julian Sawyer: *Makes a spectacular show of weaving and bobbing as he dodges all but 3 of those. Isn't so lucky on that*
Metal Man (GM): 40 electric damage and paralysis. Per hit.
Julian Sawyer: *TOUGH-SKIN'D*
Metal Man (GM): No paralysis, but still 40 electric damage.
Julian Sawyer: *KILLED. 2/3*
Metal Man (GM): They then make a neato defensive stance formation.
Julian Sawyer sinks into a generic blue warp portal. *Which turns red as he rises out of it, Vengeful as all hell* "Shouldn't have done that..." *Julian rears back, as his fist charges and glows red. Julian then lunges towards the most-damaged robot and delivers a PUNISHING haymaker to it's head*
Aetos: "Charles, I hate to say it, but we may need that star rod!"
Metal Man (GM): You barely hit. The thing actually is almost fast enough to intercept your punch.
Julian Sawyer: *400 damage as Julian blows his two revival actions and loses his Vengeful aura*
Metal Man (GM): The robot explodes in your face, dealing an instant 50 fire damage to you.
Julian Sawyer: *Explodes the Robot's head Is knocked back, but isn't killed by the mere 50 damage*
Jinarceg: "Great. They EXPLODE! This'll hurt a lot."
Metal Man (GM): Garric, I demand you eat dinner! Errr...
Metal Man: "This is for smoking up the battlefield!" *He attacks a robot with some acapello singing of the Mario theme on an iced-up powerful megaphone.*
Metal Man (GM): *PLUS Crazy* Miss hit miss miss miss. 30 ice damage.
Metal Man then goes to smack it. A lot.
Metal Man (GM): Hit hit. 10 electric damage.
MrMonster rushes towards the robot Metal was attacking and tries two sword swipes... At its Polearm. An attempt to sunder it...
Metal Man (GM): It blocks with three shield movements.
Jinarceg slashs at a random robot once more.
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Jinarceg defends yet again. "Bah... they're way too fast."
Julian Sawyer: "Says you."
Aetos twirls his spear above him and creates a wind barrier, then runs up and tries to shish kebob robot #2. He defends.
Metal Man (GM): *Dodge* The robots, noticing the power of Julian, assault him from all sides with their electrified pikes. *CRIT MISS* *NORMAL* *CRIT* *NORMAL* 40 electric damage per hit, 80 for the crit.
Metal Man: "Tsk tsk tsk... looks like Julian has all the power but none of the defense."
Julian Sawyer: *PERISH!*
Metal Man (GM): This is followed up by all of them defending, getting into an extremely hard to hit formation.
MrMonster: "I think we should retreat..."
Metal Man: "We have nowhere to go."
Julian Sawyer sinks into a blue warp portal, which turns red as he immediately rises out of it, glowing red with vengeance once again. "...This is why I hate robots. THEY ALWAYS ATTACK ME!" *Julian then rears back again, charging a Vengeful Punch, and flies towards the Robot who is the most damaged, and delivers another PUNISHING haymaker to the head*
Metal Man: "Is it you always attacking them, or them attack you always? I can't tell."
Metal Man (GM): You smash it good.
Jinarceg whistles.
Julian Sawyer: *Pushes off the robot he punched and jumps back to the group, Vengeful Gone.*
Metal Man (GM): The robot remains alive, despite your powerful punch.
Metal Man: "Geez... can ANYTHING hit them?" *He attempts to smack them all.*
MrMonster: "... We could always try and climb back up into that control room... And smash our way out of it."
Metal Man (GM): Miss hit miss.
Jinarceg: "I wish I had a huge bomb or something."
Metal Man (GM): One of them takes 10 electric damage and is paralyzed.
Julian Sawyer: "Or a big rock..." *Looks up for any such rock that would be hanging above the robots*
Metal Man (GM): No such thing. I'm not Hal! The paralyzed robot is a lot slower looking now.
Julian Sawyer: *Wasn't asking for a Giant TV!*
Jinarceg: "Think a jolt'll hurt the roboto?"
MrMonster: "Die!" *The Trulander shoots a Sword Shot at it and then slashes it twice.*
Metal Man (GM): One hit, the last one.
Jinarceg slashes at the paralzyed guy.
Metal Man (GM): You sorta mime the motion a person does when they are slashing.
Jinarceg: "...Why do I bother?" *He glances at Julian.* "Since ye be the strongest, ole brutest one..." throws a hundred rings at Julian.
Julian Sawyer: "Finally, some appreciation around here." *Acceptance!*
Garrick Fy`aar unloads on them, adding a bit of armor piercing to his rounds so he can drive the message home that he wants these things dead.
Metal Man (GM): Let's see... the latter two robots you shoot at block everything. You manage to hit the slower, paralyzed robot twice.
Julian Sawyer: .oO(C'mon, draw their fire...)
Metal Man (GM): That one dies.
Jinarceg offers Garrick a highfive.
Metal Man (GM): The remaining ones remain angry in that way people can remain remaining. They decide to give Garrick a high-five of STABBING DEATH!
Garrick Fy`aar: "Alright, come on..."
Julian Sawyer: .oO(Woo-hah!)
Metal Man (GM): 26 damage per hit.
Garrick Fy`aar is maimed brutally... but LIVES.
Julian Sawyer wastes no time, charging a robot and laying down a beating with three haymakers to the head.
Metal Man (GM): Let's see. HAYMAKER, HAYMAKER, HAYMAKER. Three hits.
Jinarceg: "THAT had to hurt. Badly."
Julian Sawyer: "Shoot him! It!"
Metal Man (GM): The robot is looking a little woozy but not dead.
Garrick Fy`aar gulps down a Max Mushroom, then unloads on the whoozy one...
Metal Man (GM): 5 hits It is still alive.
Garrick Fy`aar: "...holy... what's this thing MADE out of..."
Metal Man gives the woozy robot his own version of a machinegun assault: flying eight-balls.
MrMonster: "... No idea, but I suggest we take their polearms... If they survive this battle."
Metal Man (GM): Miss miss hit miss hit. 50 ice damage.
Jinarceg: "I call dibs on two!"
Metal Man then goes to smack it.
Metal Man (GM): Jinarceg: The second robot exploded like the other one when it was killed.
Metal Man finishes off number three. It explodes, dealing 50 damage to him. "Owww!"
Metal Man (GM): 2 robots left.
MrMonster attempts to slice up the latter robot with his scimitar... If he can even HIT the blasted thing.
Metal Man (GM): Miss hit miss.
Jinarceg slashs again. "These guys are just so annoying... I doubt I can hit them."
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Jinarceg follows up with another slash.
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Jinarceg: "...I feel like I'm pathetic."
Aetos stabs his spear into the rocky ground and uses it to power kick robot #4, and drills it twice... then backflips too his spot again...
Metal Man (GM): Miss Miss Miss
Aetos pants He raises his hand to 'push' #4
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Aetos defends for his last 2 actions...
Metal Man (GM): The remaining guard bots decide to split up their duties. One stabs at Garrick thrice with paralyzing electric pikes. the other, attacks Julian. 40 electric damage per hit.
Garrick Fy`aar is nailed, but not killed.
Julian Sawyer: *Shocked! But not to death! Almost though.*
Metal Man (GM): FYI, to all who are paralyzed: It halves your SPD.
Julian Sawyer: *Coughs* "I ain't dead yet..." *Julian runs up to the one who's mostly damaged, and gives it a punch to the face*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Julian Sawyer: "You're in for it now." *O-O-O-OVERDRIVE!*
Aetos: "Woo! Go Julian!"
Julian Sawyer: *Launches an attack on the same robot with a Speedbag, then goes to grab it by the head.*
Metal Man (GM): One hit, the rest all miss.
Julian Sawyer: *GRAB. He then rears back, his fist glowing white, then delivers a KO PUNCH to the Robot. *KO!**
Metal Man (GM): It explodes in your face. 50 fire damage to you.
Julian Sawyer: *Flies back to the group, on the verge of death.*
Jinarceg: "...You should really use those rings."
Metal Man: "Charles needs some rings."
Julian Sawyer: "They're used automatically."
Jinarceg: "...Ah." *He glances at Charles?* "Is he even alive?"
Julian Sawyer: "He ain't moving..."

Metal Man (GM): 69 danage... TO A WALL.
Metal Man decides to smack that dang robot.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man misses yet again.
MrMonster tries a meaningless Sword Shot, Confusion, and Electric Fan combo...
Metal Man (GM): Miww Miss Miss miss. Oh. One hit for normal damage.
Jinarceg goes for a slash... again.
Julian Sawyer: "...Jina, do you have 100 rings?"
Jinarceg: "Uh... lemme check..."
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Jinarceg seemingly digs in his pack. "300."
Julian Sawyer: "Use some on Charles!"
Jinarceg pokes a hundred into Charles.
Metal Man (GM): Charles is revived at full HP.
Aetos raises his hand, pushing the robot up into the air for a hard crash landing... "This seems to be the only thing working for me!"
Metal Man (GM): Hit. The robot crash lands into Aetos. 50 fire damage to Quester. All robots terminated.
Julian Sawyer: "...Alright Aetos!"
Metal Man (GM): +2500 EXP.
Jinarceg: "Finely!"
Aetos: "Woo!"
Charles Magellean lays still... but then lifts his legs up and makes himself jump up! "I are fully healed!"
Metal Man (GM): Last time we left everybody had reached the mysterious underground fortress. With no other way out, they face a shielded, armored, and knobless door. The fortress being an imperial monster in appearance; although it is only a single story high. It appears as if the higher stories were crushed. Mended and repaired for a while now, it stands as a monument to an unknown being's power. Everyone's in front of the door. The robots whom you defeated are all dead, and exploded, so there's nothing left of them to take. There are no control panels or the like for this specific locked door.
Julian Sawyer: "Hate robots... So how are we gonna get in?"
Charles Magellean: "Let's see if we can even touch this behemoth."
Aetos: "Agreed, perhaps knocking?"
MrMonster knocks on the door...
Metal Man (GM): All you feel is the force field, which jolts you for five electric damage.
MrMonster: "Gah! Goodie... It is electrified."
Metal Man (GM): The door remains impenetrable... the field kept you from even touching it.
Julian Sawyer: "Hmmmm..." *Reaches into his back pocket and retrives... A Debarrier Cube.* "I'm gonna have to buy more of these..." *Tosses it at the force field on the door*
Azure: "I'm... with you there..."
Metal Man (GM): The force field shorts out.
Aetos: "Woo."
Julian Sawyer: "Now if I had two more of these for those windows..."
Aetos: "Now knock?"
Metal Man (GM): The door remains knobless and tough-looking.
MrMonster shakes his head, not wanting to be the recipient of another trap.
Aetos: "Fine." *He walks up and knocks on the door*
Metal Man (GM): It makes three hollow noises. However, nobody replies.
Aetos: "No dice."
Charles Magellean: "Then we knock down."
Julian Sawyer: "Hmmm... Charles, fire some rockets at."
Aetos: "Heh... K." *He stands back*
Charles Magellean: "I am hesitant if it reflects back."
Aetos blinks, then walks behind some large rubble
Metal Man (GM): The door has a dull sheen. It looks almost as if somebody took a wall and made it into a door.
Julian Sawyer: "Just shoot it." *Backs up* "Rockets don't reflect."
Charles Magellean arms morph into the cannon. It fires one rocket.
MrMonster jumps back from the door...
Metal Man (GM): *BAM* The door is blasted. It cracks a little, and some plates fall off. It remains in the way.
Julian Sawyer: "Shoot it some more."
Metal Man: "By the time we get in, whoever's in there will know we're coming."
Azure: "If they don't already..."
Julian Sawyer: "Psssh. Like anyone's in there."
Aetos: *from afar* "Yah... they woulda answered the doors..."
Julian Sawyer: "FIRE!"
Metal Man: "Well, these doors won't demolish themselves."
Charles Magellean backs away and bows. "Please, do the honors."
Aetos sighs, runs up, and tries to drill into the door with his spear
Metal Man (GM): The door gets a itty bitty hole in it. It is cracked a bit more.
Metal Man: "I'll finish it."
Aetos nods
Metal Man hurls a radio into the door. BOOOOOOOM!
Aetos then backs away...
Metal Man (GM): The door falls inward, destroyed. You can see somewhat from here, some sort of highly technological room.
Julian Sawyer: "Alright then." *Onward!*
Metal Man: "Well well... what do we have here?" *Enters*
Metal Man (GM): Inside, wires and computers are everywhere.
Aetos follows in
Charles Magellean moves onward, then will be right back from the restroom.
Metal Man (GM): Two doors, both of which go right ahead, one left, one right, can be seen.
Julian Sawyer: "See? Knew no one's in there. Hey, doors."
MrMonster makes sure Miirnalk before stepping inside.
Aetos opens the left door to see what is behind it.
Julian Sawyer: *Heads for the right door*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos opens the left door.... The floor tile immediately before the right door gives way under Julian's feet.
Aetos: "Oops..."
Metal Man (GM): Julian is now clutching to the floor.
Aetos jumps over to grab Julian
Julian Sawyer: "WHOA!" *Tries pulling himself up.*
Metal Man (GM): You pull Julian out of the hole.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man (GM): ...The wall to the left opens up, and launches missiles at you. At Aetos.
MrMonster: "... It appears as if we'll have to be careful here... Look out!"
Aetos: "Heh..." "Gah!"
Julian Sawyer: "Thanks, I guess..." *Looks into the hole*
Metal Man (GM): Julian: It was a spike pit. 20 fire damage per hit. A wave of electricity blitzes through the room. SPD checks for everyone.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Metal Man leaps over the wave of electricity.
Aetos gets blasted by each missile, but the explosion seems to take no affect against him...
Metal Man (GM): Julian also succeeds in avoiding it.
Julian Sawyer: *Sees the wave coming and hops over it*
Metal Man (GM): Aetos gets zapped for 35 electric damage.
Aetos doesn't see the electricity and gets zapped, he starts sizzling
Metal Man (GM): A large saw on a servo arm pops out of the ceiling and tries to slice MrMonster in two.
Aetos coughs "Jeez!!"
Metal Man (GM): 35 electric damage to MrMonster.
MrMonster is electrified and sawed.
Metal Man (GM): 100 damage from the saw. Then some floor tiles explode, threatening everyone with shrapnel.
