Metal Man (GM): Session: "Metal fights some more people again even though he could do the CAL instead."

Metal Man wanders around HQ, before eventually encountering Dragoshi. He looks rather distracted, or something. "Hmmm... I can't find Julian... would you like to have a spar with me?"

Dragoshi thinks about this for a few seconds, then comes up with an answer. "...Sure, don't see why not"

Metal Man flips a switch; he and Dragoshi appear in the arena relatively quickly. He brushes off his armor, and takes out his guns. "Let's see... what you can do."

Metal Man (GM): Quester Sparring Match
Order: Metal, Dragoshi
What you see before you... is something strange.
A man heavily weighted down in armor... moving rather quickly.

Dragoshi: "...Buh?"

Metal Man (GM): He whips out two pistols quickly, and proceeds to fire them at you over and over again. BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!
CRIT on one. Normally, they do 11 damage and ignore 5 DR... which bounces offa you. But that crit deals 22 damage and ignores 10 DR.

Dragoshi is pretty much slow in his heavy armor, and most of the blows bounce off of it, 'cept the first "...Huh."

Metal Man notices all the bullets bouncing off. "Hmmm... decent armor..." He refrains from attacking for the rest of his turn.

Dragoshi chuckles. "Why, thank you." And with that, instead of waiting he jumps into action by firing a blast of wind energy at Metal.

Metal Man is hit; he shields himself with an arm.
He absorbs all the damage from the wind, then is knocked over for 10 damage he can't absorb.

Dragoshi then assumes a defensive stance (End of turn)

Metal Man gets up and puts both pistols together, and they somehow morph into one hand cannon, which he then fires twice at Dragoshi.

Metal Man (GM): 32 damage per hit, pierces 5 damage.

Dragoshi reels back a little bit from both shots "...Heh. Didn't know THAT was possible."

Metal Man: "It is only possible with the modifications I have made."

Dragoshi: "...Huh. Well, regardless..." *Dragoshi snaps his fingers and fires out another cyclone.*

Metal Man is barely hit.

Dragoshi stands still, and waits (End of turn)

Metal Man: "If I can't damage your body that well... I'll just have to damage your brain!"
*He begins singing, horribly off key, in a high-pitched voice, 'Yellow Submarine.' If that isn't bad enough, he's rigged up his gun so that it amplifies the sound and shoots it at Dragoshi's head.*

Dragoshi: "What is tha-" *Dragoshi feels a sharp pain in the side of his head.*

Metal Man (GM): 2 MNT damage.

Metal Man's turn is over.

Dragoshi: "...Great, now my mind feels fuzzier."
*He shakes his head, and fires out a concentrated blast of pure fire. (Charged Flame Breath)*

Metal Man cartwheels out of the way. "Wheeeee!!!"

Dragoshi blinks for a second, then assumes a defensive stance (End of turn)

Metal Man runs up to Dragoshi and uppercuts him with his gun, shooting him simultaneously... and his arms lights on fire during all of this. "Hi-Yaaaaahhhh!!!"

Dragoshi: "What the-" *Hit.*

Metal Man (GM): 42 fire damage, ignores 5 DR

Dragoshi is hurt slightly. And a little more confused "...Okay."

Metal Man then ends his turn.

Dragoshi stands still for this turn, and starts to bide his time (End of turn)

Metal Man then combines the two pistols into one. "Heavy Shot Extravaganza, GO!" He fires three times at Dragoshi in a row.

Metal Man (GM): *BAM* *WHIFF* *BAM*
32 damage, ignores 5 DR

Dragoshi reels back from shot one which causes him to evade shot 2, but get hit by the third one "...Gah."
He shakes his head again, and attempts to strangle Metal with his tail, and blast him with a charged flame breath.

Metal Man evades one and gets clipped by the second.

Dragoshi stands still. (End of turn)

Metal Man: "Ow... that... sorta packs a punch."
*He shoots a radio at Dragoshi. It explodes on contact, much like a grenade... a really large grenade.*

Metal Man (GM): *Radio... BOOOM!*
32 fire damage, pierces 5 DR.

Metal Man: "You're a decent fighter, but the low accuracy of your strong move hurts you a lot."

Dragoshi: "As are you. 'Cept for the part about the low accuracy. And, aside from that, if I wanted to be cheap, I could've Chaos Controlled to avoid some of the attacks, but I have SOME honor. Well, that, and it'd expend quite a bit of my energy"

Metal Man: "How you know chaos control is beyond me."

Dragoshi: "But... All that aside... Cyclone!" *Dragoshi fires the green burst of wind energy again, even though he's prolly' still suffering mentally from Metal's botched-up rendition of* "Yellow Submarine"

Metal Man is critted; but even the crit gets a big chunk eaten out of it... evil armor.

Dragoshi assumes a defensive stance, and stands still, surprised by that bit of luck.

Metal Man was also surprised... so much he flaming uppercuts his foe again, then shoots at him with the Heavy Shot dual-pistol thing.

Metal Man (GM): Did that even hit?
Ah.

Metal Man sorta trips on the ground and instead uppercuts Dragoshi's feet... 45 fire damage, ignores 5 DR
He then does the heavyshot while on the ground, in a sorta crawling sniper position.

Dragoshi feels that his feet are on fire, and while putting them out he evades the gunshot.

Metal Man: "Hmmm... last time I imitate Columbo's firing style."
*He gets up, scraping arena floor debris off of his armor.*

Dragoshi: "Yeah, seriously. Now that I've put out that slightly awkward footfire out..." *He fires out a powerful burst of lightning at Metal, even though it's pretty much gonna have the same effect as the Flame Breath due to Metal's awful singing.*

Metal Man is hit... because how's he supposed to dodge that?

Dragoshi stands, there, waiting (EoE)

Metal Man decides Dragoshi's too smart; he sings again... ow... ow... ow...

Metal Man (GM): ...OW
4 MNT damage as his voice painfully cracks.

Dragoshi: "...Gaw dammet! I think I might've forgotten a lesson about reading archaic scriptures! And computers! And something about robots!
...Bleh. Regardless."
*He stands still, seeing as there's nothin he can do... For now. (EoT)*

Metal Man uses another Radio boom, then another powerful Heavy Shot.

Metal Man (GM): *BOOM* 32 fire damage, ignores 5 DR
And... *BLAM* 32 damage, ignores 5 DR

Dragoshi shakes his head a little bit, but attempts to strangle Mets with his tail and follow up with a powerful gout of flame.
*LUCK.*

Metal Man dodges the first and is hit by the second.
He is hit once. "Nice luck, man."

Dragoshi: "Thanks."

Metal Man then does another flaming Uppercut.

Metal Man (GM): *Smack* 42 + ignores 5 DR fire damage.

Dragoshi chuckles, seeing as he might not have enough for one of his supercharged Flame Breaths, he instead goes back to Square One- Cyclone.

Metal Man (GM): You miss. Metal sees his attack wore you down.

Metal Man stands still for his turn... must be preparing for something.

Dragoshi: "...I have some sort of ominous feeling 'bout this, but... Regardless. FLARE BREATH!" *Dragoshi fires out that same powerful and unholy gout of flame at Metal.*

Metal Man dodges around it, then lets loose a 4-shot barrage of Heavy Shots. "Aieeee!!!"

Dragoshi: "...Sorry for the flavorless repeat of attacks, but, it's hard to do much when you're mind's being chipped at bit by bit, by bit"

Metal Man (GM): Hit miss miss hit
32 damage, ignores 5 DR

Dragoshi gets knocked back a little bit by half of the shots "...Bleh. Still tickin' though, so no problems." With that he waits, preparing to strike...

Metal Man pulls off another flaming Uppercut.

Metal Man (GM): *SMACK* 42 fire damage, ignores 5 DR.

Dragoshi: "...I could be cheap and use one of the Four Ultra Shrooms I bought a couple days ago, but that'd be VERY unfair to you." *And, with that he sighs and fires out another charged flame breath, seeing as that's the only thing that'd have a high possibility of hitting... *
*sees the fire hit* "Well, that, and it'd be against some sort of rules, of course... But, regardless."
He stops his idle rambling and assumes a defensive stance (EoT)

Metal Man shrugs. "Seems like an even enough fight to me." HE lets loose a Radio, followed by a Heavy Shot.

Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* *BLAM* 32 ignores 5 DR, 32 ignores 5 DR.

Dragoshi: "Again, I apologize for pulling a Julian and being unoriginal with my attack pattern, but..." *Charged Flame Breath redux! Well, not really a redux, but whatev.*

Metal Man takes some damage, then launches a flaming uppercut into Dragoshi.

Metal Man (GM): *Flame* 42 + ignores 5 DR

Metal Man is hit again... by something.

Dragoshi shrugs, and assumes the usual defensive/waiting stance (EoT)

Metal Man does yet another Yellow Submarine attack.

Metal Man (GM): *2 MNT damage.*

Dragoshi: "...I'm going slightly mad..." *...Gaw dammet, now he's muttering 'I'm going slightly mad' by Queen. Wonderful. Bloody wonderful!*
"...It finally happe-Huh? Wha? Oh, right. Fuh." *Okay, seeing as he snapped outta that he attempts another cyclone*

Metal Man is hit by the weakened cyclone.
He decides to try another flaming uppercut.

Metal Man (GM): *Smack* 42 damage, ignores 5 DR

Dragoshi goes back to muttering 'I'm going slightly mad' By Queen while getting jit for 25 damage. Whee. And, he fires off another Charged up Flame Breath.

Metal Man dodges that.
"Now... take this!"
*He opens fire with 4 Heavy Shots.*

Dragoshi: "...Huh? Carp."

Metal Man (GM): Hit CRIT hit hit
32, pierces 5 for each of the 3 normal hits
Crit is 64, pierces 10 DR

Dragoshi falls over defeated before muttering out something about being a banana tree.

Metal Man gains 325 EXP; Dragoshi, 261 EXP.

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi is given a Maxshroom; Metal as well.

Metal Man: "Well, that was a decent fight... though the armor limited my options."

Aetos shakes his head and appears somewhere.

Charles Magellean sighs and puts on his anti-N00B helmet, equips himself with the anti-idiot morning star, and gets out his sword of idiotic-killer slashing.

Dragoshi: "Agreed. Though, for me it wasn't the armor, it was the fact my mind was starting to get number and number by the singings."

Metal Man: "I should try fighting Julian some time..."

Editor's Note: What, again? Haven't you had enough? Only The Void seems to have a chance at beating him... and that's despite the fact it'd be nice if you beat him, even me, future you, thinks you've had enough!

Aetos rolls into wherever they are.

Dragoshi: "...'Cause for a second there I thought there was a giant zombie baby up on the ceiling... skylight... Whatever."

Aetos: "...How long was I out?"
*He looks at his wrist.*

Metal Man: "Beats me."

Dragoshi: "...No idea."

Metal Man twirls his guns and does a victory stance for no reason.

Wolfman would be at... unsure actually: let's just say the mail room or something.

Aetos: "Well... I see the CAL started..."

Garrick Fy`aar had been watching calmly from the lab. He sighs calmly and goes back to working on his equipment...

Alexia comes out from her room
"Did I miss the first match? Dang."

Metal Man: "Odd... well, I guess you can call that a match."

Dragoshi stretches his armor "Yeah, ya did. It was pretty good as well."

Metal Man sees the rankings change.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...I might join the Questers just to be in the CAL..."

Dragoshi: "...Though, it might've been somewhat of a good thing, seeing as Metal belted out Yellow Submarine at LEAST THREE times"

Wolfman is wondering if he got any mail... doubt it, considering he's been gone for so long...

Alexia: "...So?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "...too bad I've been out of action so long that I'm probably behind everyone else..."

Dragoshi cricks his neck a little bit, as the armor disappears, leaving Dragoshi in his cloak, shirt and jeans "...Eh."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...hmmm... SIMBER?"

Aetos looks at the list over people below 50. Who are they?...

Wolfman gets in line then.

Garrick Fy`aar will also get in line, but he'd like his equipment stats first...

Metal Man (GM): Julian may now do CAL battle #1.
Also, new rule change! Any use of Weapon add to-hit or damage automatically adds whatever special features the weapon has to the attack.
Thus saving you 1 move point if you spent it on the weapon's special abilities.
Which you may now use for other things.
Both.

Wolfman puts Slash in the bad moves column.

Metal Man (GM): Okay. Julian, ready for some Gumbo smashing action?

Wolfman goes to the his personal Arena seat to check this battle out. VG goes to the "normal" match control booth.

Alexia heads to the Arena to spectate.

Trigger walks into the arena to spectate.

Dragoshi heads over to the arena to spectate as well.

Wolfman sees everyone starting to come by.
"Welcome all."

Dragoshi: "...Eh. It'll be one-sided for the lot of us... Well, that is until we prolly' get to Ridley"

Alexia: "Hi, Wolfman."

Dragoshi: "...Oh, heya, Wolf."

Wolfman: "So Julian gets to fight #50?"

Dragoshi: "Yep."

Trigger: "Hey guys, what's up?"

Wolfman: "Who was it again? I just got here from the mail room... didn't see any mail for me."

Alexia: "The Goomba. Whatever his name was."

Dragoshi: "Gumbo."

Alexia: "Got any popcorn?"

Wolfman: "...a Goomba?"

Dragoshi: "Which oddly enough sounds like a type of FOOD."

Wolfman: .oO(...a Goomba is at the bottom? figures...)
"You guys want food?"
*He pulls out his Smash Dex, and hits the "Arena Food Service" button.*

Trigger: "Sure! I'll take a popcorn and coke."

Dragoshi: "...Nah. I'm good. I had a big meal before I fought Metal. Though, I usually ha-Oh, you get the point."

Alexia: "I wouldn't mind some food. I've been up in my room practicing my techniques."

Wolfman (GM): *A Lakitu comes by us.*

Lakithomas: "Anything you want?"

Trigger: "I'll take a popcorn and a coke please."

Alexia: "Can you get some nachos for me, please? And a soda."

Wolfman (GM): Lakithomas takes the orders down, along with the others that haven't ordered yet to speed things up.

Lakithomas: "One minute please."

Wolfman (GM): Lakithomas returns with our food and drinks.

Alexia: "It... was rather embarrassing to be knocked out in round 2 of the arena match. Oh, thanks."

Lakithomas: "Here you guys go."

Trigger: "That looked like it hurt too. Thanks."

Alexia takes her food and gives Lakithomas a 5-coin tip.

Wolfman takes his drink.

Lakithomas: "Thanks."

Trigger takes his snacks.

Alexia: "You're welcome."

Wolfman (GM): Lakithomas goes to serve the others.

Alexia pops a nacho into her mouth.

Trigger: "I always love arena food, tastes all... arena like."

Alexia: "I have a feeling Julian's gonna crow about beating me for a while."

Wolfman: "Considering my past, this food can almost be considered heaven."

Alexia: "Ah, well. Simple pleasures for simple minds."

Trigger starts to eat his popcorn.
"I still can't believe how long I lasted."

Dragoshi: "...Me neither."

Alexia: "Tell me about it."

Metal Man looks around, and wanders into the announcer's booth.

VG: "Metal, I didn't know you were announcing."

Metal Man (GM): You guys make up the crowd; at this branch in the fighting... very few people are here other than you guys.

Metal Man: "For this fight. Julian will announce otherwise... when he isn't fighting."

VG: "Well, do you know when we'll at least have the traditional arena fights again? There isn't much I can control on these boring CAL fights..."

Alexia: "Huh. Seems there's not a lot of interest for this fight."

Wolfman: "Well... we're not exactly top tier."

Alexia eats a few more nachos.

Dragoshi: "...Well, what do you expect? It's against a simple Goomba"

Wolfman: "Perhaps in the past, we were... we have to work our way back up."

Metal Man: "After the CAL."

Dragoshi: "Now if it were against something deadlier, like an Omega Metroid, the crowd might be more tightly packed."

VG: "THAT long? How long is this supposed to last?"

Metal Man presses a button, and... a Goomba wearing a sash walks in from the left.

VG: .oO(I'm going to get those holo rooms fixed up ASAP)

Metal Man: "On the left side, we have Gumbo, the furious losing *Cough* winning machine! And on the right side..."

Alexia: "...Real scary."

Dragoshi: "...Pathetic."

Alexia: "What'll it do, shin-kick him to death?"

Metal Man waits for Julian to enter; his dex has been beeping now.

Dragoshi: "Or headbonk him to doom?"

Alexia: "Chew on his arm? ...Heaven help us if an Omega Metroid comes into this arena.
It'd be flat-out chaos."

Metal Man: "Uhh... Julian will get here eventually..."

Julian Sawyer walks in from the right, readying up his right arm for his first match. Noticing there isn't much of a crowd, he just walks in, nothing fancy.

Wolfman: .oO(...I hope so... okay, there we go)

Dragoshi: "...It'd be fun. ...What!?"

Metal Man: "On the right side... is Julian, the saber-wielding maniac!"

Gumbo: "I'll bonk yer head in!"

VG: .oO(...I don't know why we still have him with us...)

Alexia snickers at this statement.

Dragoshi: "...Huh. Seems my Headbonk comment was accurate."

Garrick Fy`aar walks into the stands, sitting beside the others...

Julian Sawyer: "Steppin' in here with me? Worst choice of yo' life. Let's go!" *Julian punches his fist into his palm and gets ready...*

Garrick Fy`aar: "...so... what is this again?"

Alexia: "Oh, hi."

Metal Man (GM): CAL BATTLE, RANKING 50: Gumbo vs. Julian
Order: Julian, Gumbo

Alexia: "Embarrassing on the Goomba's part, an easy rank boost on Julian's."

Dragoshi: "The CAL. And Julian's gonna... Flat out kill the Goomba"

Wolfman: "Aren't some Goombas powerful though?"

Alexia: "Nope."

Dragoshi: "...Only if they're in a mech."

Editor's Note: Only in groups in that one season where I messed up and made them a lethal threat.

Alexia: "Worst I've seen are Gloombas, and they're not much of a threat either."

Julian Sawyer decides to toy with the Goomba, starting off the match with a charging Big Boot!

Dragoshi: "...Or have 500 HP, know various elemental spells, and are extremely agile."

Metal Man: "And Julian misses the Goomba!"

Wolfman: .oO(...how the heck?)

Dragoshi: "...Pfft. Gloombas are nothin'. I've seen this odd experiment in-"

VG: .oO(...how the heck?)

Dragoshi blinks
"...What the " *Draconic.*

Alexia: "... Sad."

Metal Man (GM): The goomba blinks... not really saying anything.

Julian Sawyer: "...'Parently I underestimated how short you'd be!" *Julian's hands glow blood red as he goes to grab the Goomba, aiming to save face CRIIIIIIIIITICAL!*

Wolfman & VG: .oO(Phew.)

Alexia winces.

Metal Man: "And... now he grabs the Goomba!"

Alexia: "I remember THAT move."

Dragoshi: "...TOSS HIM LIKE LAST WEEK'S GARBAGE! ...Sorry. Bad urge to say that line."

Wolfman: "It's alright to be excited."

Julian Sawyer: *It burns! Oh how it burns as the energy surges into the Goomba, burning him severely! Julian then whirls around, and LAUNCHES him into the cage wall! Focus Slam!*

Metal Man (GM): The Goomba ricochets off the wall and onto the ground, heavily beaten up.

Goomba: "Why did I... sign up for this tournament... argh..."

Alexia: "...Wow. If it takes that much damage from one attack..."

Dragoshi: "...It'll be dead next turn"
.oO(Next ARCTIC tern.)

Alexia: "Then again, I could only take three, so I guess I can't really jeer too loudly."
*She polishes off her nachos.*

Julian Sawyer: "C'mon, hit me with yo' best shot! Only one you gonna get." *Julian drops back and ends his turn.*

Gumbo: "Uhhh... take this!"

Metal Man (GM): He runs at Julian, trying to headbutt him ..And he runs into a wall!

Julian Sawyer: "Wrong!" *Julian catches the Goomba as he jumps, his hands glowing blood red again! CRIIIIIIIIITICAL!*

Dragoshi starts humming a funeral dirge.

Metal Man: "And before the Goomba can even smash into the wall, he is blown to pieces!"

Wolfman: "...that was quick."

Metal Man (GM): GAME SET

Julian Sawyer: *Burning! Then Julian launches him into and probably THROUGH the cage wall!*

Metal Man (GM): Winner: Julian

Dragoshi: "...Very."

Metal Man (GM): Julian goes up one rank, to become rank 50.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...you've... got to be kidding me."

Metal Man (GM): Gumbo is kicked down a rank.
Julian gains 100 EXP.

Julian Sawyer: "Primetime, mutha****er!"

Metal Man (GM): And 100 coins.

Metal Man updates rankings...

Dragoshi: "...Well, that was fun to watch. But, call me when Gumbo's ready for another beating."

Alexia: "Wow. Anybody blink and miss it?"

Wolfman didn't...

Garrick Fy`aar: "...hmm."

Wolfman drinks some of his drink now.

Dragoshi didn't either, and is leaving the Arena.

Alexia grabs her drink cup and heads out to the R&R room.

Wolfman stays around for a little, trying to remember how things were...

Garrick Fy`aar stands next to Wolfman, frowning a bit...
"...you remember the old days when we just had to worry about Bowser?"

Metal Man (GM): I will now take a break, generate a mission map, update the site a little, and then get the mission going.

Wolfman: "...Bowser, Ganondorf... a few more."

Alexia wonders where Ari went...

Wolfman: "But it's mostly a blur. Now... I see everyone trying to fight in cage matches."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...so... are you going to join this CAL thing?"

Wolfman: "While I'm fine for a tournament... this doesn't capture the feel. ...probably. If nothing else, trying to find out where I rank can help me train better.
I'm sure you remember me being taller, with a more... fightable form."

Garrick Fy`aar: "I'm way behind in my own training as well. Julian is easily one of the most powerful Questers alive."

Wolfman: "...for some reason, that disturbs me. He's a bit prone to anger."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...there's no real way to become stronger without joining the Questers."

Wolfman: "I think you are wrong. Here, it might be easier.
But I'm sure you can get strong if you felt you had to leave."

Trigger: "What happened, I think I blacked out?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "No... everywhere I went, I was pointed back to the Questers."

Editor's Note: It's almost like this is an RPG where you play as Questers. Almost.

Wolfman: "...is that so? ...did the APN point you here as well?"

Trigger starts to eat more of his popcorn.

Wolfman: .oO(Times have changed...)

Garrick Fy`aar: "I didn't go there."

Wolfman: "Do you wish to go there some time?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "I'm afraid that I wouldn't like it."

Aetos lays down on the floor in the R&R.

Wolfman: "What would be wrong?"
*He obviously doesn't fully understand everything about the APN... or Mage Council.*

Garrick Fy`aar: "It's a government. Governments are always wrong.
Not that I'm saying that anarchy is great or anything...
I'm just saying that with government comes problems..."

Wolfman: "I'm sure you can find things wrong in everything."

Garrick Fy`aar: "Wolf, think about it. We're flying a banner now.
The APN just threw itself to the wind.
And who knows what's on the other parts of the planet?"

Wolfman: "Well, we were cast away for... what: 10 or so years?"

Aetos relocates to the Big Room and lays on the floor there.

Wolfman: "I don't blame the APN for setting itself up."

Garrick Fy`aar: "I don't know..."

Wolfman: "As far as the other parts of the planet... I believe within the first year as Questers, the world was a lot bigger. If not the world, then the universe and all of the ways to reach different parts.
Somehow, it got smaller."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...I'm going to join the CAL. ...and I'm going to get stronger.
...and I'm going to go out there beyond Nintendus and see what the world is hiding."

Wolfman: "I wish to see some other parts of the world myself."

Garrick Fy`aar: "Your a Quester again, right?"

Trigger drinks his coke.

Wolfman: "I am. I think Metal would have no problem with 'scouting missions' though." *Winks.*

Garrick Fy`aar: "Pfft... Metal is getting in over his had. Things are going to be worse with this government... but who knows.
I don't plan on rejoining the Questers unless they show me something that makes me think it's good to rejoin.
I'm weak compared to any of them. I'm a newbie again."

Wolfman: "Well, that I can't do... unless you like the idea of occasional free rides on my back."

Garrick Fy`aar glances at Wolf... then chuckles...

Wolfman: "Everything has changed... I'll give you that. It's best to be ready for anything.
Hopefully, we'll get our answers one way or another."

Trigger heads back to his room to listen to some music and unwind.

MISSION
The whole group's in the Big Room.

Aetos is suddenly re-shackled to the foul-mouthed brawler... eh?

Julian Sawyer: "So what's the low down this time, Mets?"

Metal Man (GM): It looks like a tie... but, somehow, somewhere, another vote came in, sending Mission 14 to the top.

Garrick Fy`aar is somehow in there as well, even though he's not a Quester...

Metal Man: "Well, this is... very interesting, indeed."
*He takes out a piece of paper covered in lines and lines of information.
* "...Something or another just started going haywire over here, and Gunicard cleverly picked it up for us.
We can't be sure as to the nature of it, but it happened shortly after the nuke crashed into our roof.
Which, by the way, has been removed and the hole repaired."

Alexia: "Phew."

Charles Magellean: "Do you have a mission for us or not?"

Metal Man: "You call this... not a mission?"
*He presses a button, and the map screen zooms in on what looks like a massive crater.*

Julian Sawyer: "...Charles, we gotta go check 'dis out. Sounds like a mission to me."

Metal Man (GM): You see... some ruins in the center.

Alexia: "...What the heck..."

Metal Man: "When you're ready, the elevator is ready."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...huh. Well, I suppose I'd better go with you guys."

Charles Magellean: "Anything else to know that is of *Importance* to this?"

Metal Man: "Nothing I can think of."

Charles Magellean turns right around and readies the elevator.

Alexia shakes her head as she walks into the elevator.

Julian Sawyer: "Alright, let's go." *Julian stands up and heads for the elevator, assuming Metal hasn't had the time to chain he and Aetos back together...*

Dragoshi walks towards the elevator as well.

Metal Man (GM): You're separate... for the time being.

Aetos rolls his eyes, sighs, and goes to the elevator.

Metal Man (GM): You get aboard. *WARP*
You appear... in the middle of the crater.
Facing what looks like a ruined base.
Buildings crispified, crumbling away.
A sign sits on the ground, shorn in two... face down.

Garrick Fy`aar: "..."
*He moves over to said sign and pushes it upwards...*

Julian Sawyer heads over to the sign and... yeah, he does the same.

Alexia: "Wow. Utter destruction..."

Metal Man (GM): It says...
Robotnik's HQ

Julian Sawyer: "Somethin' big happened here..."

Metal Man (GM): In burnt up letters.

Julian Sawyer: "... Goddammit."

Metal Man (GM): The sign falls apart just with a few touches.
This destruction looks very old.

Dragoshi: "...Huh."

Charles Magellean: "Did it say where we were?"

Julian Sawyer: "It's Ivo's old HQ!"

Dragoshi: "...Wait, wha?"

Alexia: "...WHAT?!"

Charles Magellean walks forward. "Then we know what to expect."

Garrick Fy`aar: "Yep."

Metal Man (GM): Most of the buildings are burnt into pieces, save for the main one, which stands there.

Garrick Fy`aar follows Charles.

Alexia: "Robots galore?"

Julian Sawyer: "Look like we got ourselves a destination." *Heads towards the Main Building.*

Alexia takes out her laser pistol and follows the others.

Metal Man (GM): A massive tower... leaning over precariously.

Dragoshi follows the others.

Metal Man (GM): You reach the front door... which was blasted outwards.

Dragoshi: "...Woah."

Garrick Fy`aar: "What exactly are we looking for here?"

Julian Sawyer: "Jus' hope 'dis place don't fall over while we inside..."

Metal Man (GM): Burns on the ground, a burnt keypad...

Dragoshi: "Looks like someone wanted whatever was in there."

Julian Sawyer: "Whatever. Somethin' interesting."

Charles Magellean checks the mission objective again... reading over it.

Julian Sawyer heads in.

Dragoshi: "...Though, this smells of... Something" *Heads in.*

Charles Magellean: "We're to investigate an ancient transmission from the time of The Void."
*He heads in.*

Alexia heads in also.

Metal Man (GM): Inside... burnt and crumbling marble can be seen.

Garrick Fy`aar frowns and follows...

Dragoshi: "...Woah. First time I've seen burnt marble."

Metal Man (GM): It's like a destroyed marble palace.

Alexia: *Low, grim whistle* "Man. What hit this place?"

Metal Man (GM): You reach the end of a hallway, and see a door which leads down into a vast, deep, shaft, with magma about a thousand feet below.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...probably us, if it was Ivo."

Julian Sawyer: "Don' matter what hit. What matters is what survived... if anythin'."

Metal Man (GM): To the left are crumbling stairs... but they still lead to something.

Dragoshi: "...Prolly' something that spontaneously combusted. And, yeah, Julian's right"

Charles Magellean: "For you new Questers: Expect natural obstacles, robots, and traps of old."

Alexia: "Should we split up? Looks like there are two rooms to explore."

Metal Man (GM): ...There's nothing to see in the pit room, unless you want to jump down and fall into lava.
It's totally burnt up and ruined.

Julian Sawyer: "...Damn, looks like he was tappin' geothermal fo' energy..." *Heads up the Stairs.*

Metal Man (GM): You begin to go up the stairs.

Alexia floats up the stairs.

Metal Man (GM): They crunch as you walk.

Aetos walks up to the door which leads to the lava, and pushes a button on his spear to activate Item Finder mode.

Metal Man (GM): Aetos: It begins to beep erratically as you walk upwards.

Dragoshi: "...Interesting." *Walks up the stairs.*

Charles Magellean nose twitches. Something be around. He walks up the stairs with the other 5.

Aetos: *Pepsi-Cola music.*

Garrick Fy`aar continues onward as well, frowning slightly...

Metal Man (GM): You finally reach the top... and see a rather depressing area.

Charles Magellean takes a couple scratches at it so his nose don't be movin' all about.

Metal Man (GM): It's a massive room; the ceiling has a huge, circular hole in the roof.

Dragoshi: "...Damn."

Julian Sawyer whistles.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...a battlefield."

Alexia: "MAN... What hit this place, a meteor?"

Metal Man (GM): Dead Metal Sonics lay strewn about.

Charles Magellean: "...I remember this place now."

Metal Man (GM): The hole continues downwards through the floor, and down the core of the tower... you can see down it.

Charles Magellean: "The battle against the Army of Aribars took place here."

Dragoshi: "...What's with all the mechanical corpses?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "Oh right..."

Julian Sawyer: "The what?"

Alexia taps one of the Sonics with her foot.

Metal Man (GM): Ahead is a ruined control room, and then... a door nobody's ever opened beyond it.

Garrick Fy`aar: "I remember reading about that..."

Charles Magellean: "It will be explained later."

Metal Man (GM): It falls apart on the touch.
You hear... a voice.

Julian Sawyer: "Nah, you gonna 'splain it now. 'Fore I forget."

???: "No one... defeats... Robotnik!"

Alexia: "A transmission coming fro..."*Listens.*

Dragoshi walks up to one of the corpses, and kicks it.

Charles Magellean: "...Like I said... later."

Metal Man (GM): A digitized voice... from the ruined armor.

Alexia: "Except whoever came here."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...a repair system?"

???: "No one... defeats... Robotnik!"

Metal Man (GM): It seems... stuck.

Alexia: "Maybe. Get ready for a fight."

Dragoshi: "...A repeating loop of a recording?"

Metal Man (GM): Every 5 seconds, it speaks. Trigger warps in.

Trigger: "Hello."

Alexia: "Hi, Trigger."

Metal Man (GM): It says the same thing over and over again...

Charles Magellean: "Someone shut it off."

Aetos feels crowded again.

Trigger: "What's going on?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "Let me take a look."

Alexia shrugs... she's a bit overwhelmed by the sheer amount of destruction here.

Metal Man (GM): It continues speaking. The hole downwards (Of roughly 100 feet) and the door behind the consoles are both explorable.

Charles Magellean: "Gotta do stuff for one's self if people gonna take inaction."
*He stomps on it very hard to deactivate it.*

Metal Man (GM): You stomp on it...

Garrick Fy`aar hops over a nearby Sonic bot... but watches as Charles stomps on it.
"Damn, Charles! This is Robotnik technology! It has to be handled very caref--"

Metal Man (GM): A hand on the armor suddenly flinches, then the sound breaks.

Alexia: "Hmm... I say we check out the door."

Trigger: "Sonic Bots? Where are we?"

Metal Man (GM): Your dexes begin to beep.

Charles Magellean: "Robotnik technology that's been here for over 10 years. The Metal Sonic doesn't need to be activated again."

Metal Man (GM): You see... a brief power surge in the console.

Alexia flips open her Dex.

Garrick Fy`aar frowns and watches the others... before he mutters into his helmet...

Dragoshi: "...Metal Sonics. Robotnik created these in order to destroy Sonic. There were three variations. This kind, Silver Sonic, and Mecha So-"
*He flips open his Dex.*

Garrick Fy`aar: "...Mark, patch into the signal. I want to hear this too."

Trigger opens his dex.

Charles Magellean opens Garrick's.

Julian Sawyer: "Man, you worse at payin' attention than-" *Opens his dex.*

Trigger: "I just got here, lay off."

Smash Dex: "...The Original Has Returned."

Metal Man (GM): The power surges off again.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...oh hell."

Dragoshi: "...The original? Original what?"

Aetos mutters to himself.

Charles Magellean closes his dex. "..."

Trigger: "Hmm?"

Julian Sawyer: "...God dammit."

Alexia: "Original... Metal Sonic?!"

Garrick Fy`aar nods in Alexia's direction...

Dragoshi: "...Oh. ...Weeeelll... Damn."

Metal Man (GM): Sparks fly off the console... in the same place where damage usually happens. As you see burn marks all up the walls.

Trigger: "...Oh crap."

Julian Sawyer: *Closes his dex and puts it back in his pocket* "That's what I'm guessin'."

Charles Magellean: "Yes, Alexia. We explore in one direction... NOW."

Alexia closes her Dex
"Right."

Dragoshi closes his dex.

Trigger closes his dex.

Garrick Fy`aar turns and makes for the control room he saw... and the unopened door.

Alexia: "I vote door."

Metal Man (GM): You walk past burnt controls and to safe-like door.

Dragoshi: "I vote door."

Julian Sawyer heads for the door.

Charles Magellean: "Garrick's already voted door. We got that way."

Dragoshi: "...eVen though that's the OBVIOUS choice"

Metal Man (GM): You could have opened it... if the knob hadn't melted into it, and the door welded into the wall.

Alexia: "Bet you a coin there's a trap."

Wolfman suddenly gets teleported to the others...

Garrick Fy`aar glances to Julian...

Dragoshi walks towards the door.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...wanna bust it?"

Metal Man (GM): It looks like it needs to be opened.

..You look back at the Robotnik armor.

Dragoshi: "...Anyone got any C4?"

Metal Man (GM): It looks like it shot that door before it died.

Wolfman: .oO(...I've got to remember that teleporting...)

Metal Man (GM): ...To shut it.

Wolfman gets a look at the current situation.

Charles Magellean: "None of us split up. It will take everything we have to stand a chance against Metal Sonic."

Aetos: "We shouldn't open this door."

Metal Man (GM): Could there be something so fierce, the image of Robotnik wanted to keep it shut?

Alexia: "Julian, hold on a sec."

Wolfman turns to Charles. "Understood."

Alexia: "There's two opportunities here."

Metal Man (GM): You see... other controls. The door has been set to 'LOCKDOWN' mode. Jammed that way, even.

Alexia: "Either he sealed the door to keep us away from something..."

Garrick Fy`aar glances over to the controls...

Metal Man (GM): The door's keypad looks to have been blown to smithereens to make it harder to open.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...hold on, let me see here."

Dragoshi: "...Or there's something of high importance."

Alexia: "Or there's something so bad in there he had to keep it sealed away."

Trigger: "Like what?"

Wolfman chooses not to crowd around the other Questers... let's make things easier.

Metal Man (GM): A dead Metal Sonic is next to the door. It holds part of a handle the door used to have.

Garrick Fy`aar walks over to one of the more intact control panels. A small light on his helmet shoots a red beam toward it...

Charles Magellean: "...No, he kept something to be sealed."

Garrick Fy`aar: "Mark, jack into the mainframe... if it's still operational."

Dragoshi: "...I think Charles might be right."

Wolfman: "...are we trying to unseal this then?"

Mark: "Sir! It's fried beyond belief! No one can use it! All it can do... is send that message!"

Charles Magellean: "No. The transmission is the mission."

Dragoshi: "...Indeed."

Julian Sawyer: "...Look, you guys want me to cut 'dis open or not?"

Mark: "It might be a warning... what with the protocol it uses... a distress call one."

Charles Magellean: "NO!!!"

Alexia: "Yeah... Like the mission to destroy the Dimensional Cannon?"

Trigger: "Just wait."

Charles Magellean looks a bit spooked.

Garrick Fy`aar: "So... something beyond the door is sending out a distress call?"

Dragoshi: "...Only if the transmission's behind it. And it prolly ain't"

Mark: "No. The tower is. Apparently over the Original One. It sounds... vaguely creepy."

Alexia: "Er, Charles, are you okay?"

Dragoshi: "..."

Julian Sawyer: "So what the hell we gonna do? Nothin' else here but this door."

Wolfman: "...was there another path to take?"

Charles Magellean points to the hole.

Dragoshi: "Yep."

Metal Man (GM): The hole sits behind y'all. Nothing creepy happens to be around it.

Dragoshi: "That hole."

Charles Magellean: "That path is possible."

Metal Man (GM): In fact, sunlight shines down it.

Wolfman: "Then why don't we take it?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "...I don't like what this is leading to..."

Trigger: "I could check it out?"

Alexia: "Want me to scout it out?"

Metal Man (GM): It appears to be... cut by a laser.

Alexia: "Trigger, can you fly?"

Julian Sawyer: "...It's a -CENSORED- hole."

Trigger: "No."

Julian Sawyer: "Then you ain't checkin' it out."

Wolfman: "Charles advised us not to split up."

Metal Man (GM): There's a bunch of supports down there... you could climb on inside without a climb check.
Meanwhile, the welded slab of door continues to appear creepy. Something nasty must have to do with it.

Charles Magellean: "And I'm keeping it. Julian, you remember how powerful Metal Sonic was on Turion, didn't you?"

Garrick Fy`aar: "...Mark, can you get any trace power readings from beyond the door?"

Dragoshi: "...Well, I could fly in and check the hole... But, would there be any point?"

Charles Magellean: "I'm thinking something even nastier is sealed behind that."

Mark: "The door, whenever the power surges, is checked to see if it is locked. However all locking mechanisms appear to have been destroyed to prevent it from opening under power."

Julian Sawyer: "Man, this thing was fightin' 'gainst Ivo, wasn't it? Might be on our side."

Mark: "So that... it stays locked."

Garrick Fy`aar: "...no."

Wolfman is somewhere in the middle of the Questers... probably not.

Garrick Fy`aar: "We're definitely not screwing with this door."

Dragoshi: "That could be a possibility... Then again, it could be some sort of fiend hellbent on killing everyone."

Charles Magellean: "No. Metal Sonic was controlled by The Void when we fought Ivo here."

Dragoshi: "...And, I'm leanin' towards the latter"

Wolfman: "Do we go down the hole then? If so, anyone need a lift?"

Metal Man (GM): Aside from the door, and the freaky power surges, the place is peaceful.

Garrick Fy`aar: "Yeah, I'm going to the hole."

Charles Magellean goes down the hole.

Trigger: "I'll go too."

Dragoshi: "As am I."

Garrick Fy`aar makes for it, heading down into it.

Wolfman waits to see if anyone wishes to take the lazy man--err--wolf ride.

Julian Sawyer: *Sighs* "Man..." *Julian activates his Rocket Boots, and heads down the hole.*

Trigger climbs down the hole.

Alexia shrugs and floats down into the hole.

Wolfman: .oO(...hard to team up when no one wants to...)

Dragoshi takes flight, and flies down the hole.

Wolfman takes the rear position.

Metal Man (GM): Almost everyone begins climbing down.
The supports are very thick; must be how it survived.

Wolfman is joining the climbing crew.

Trigger: "I wonder what's down here?"

Metal Man (GM): You begin to get closer to the ground, to an area not normally accessible.

Alexia: "Dunno, but they really built this part to last."

Aetos waited until everyone moved on, then grabbed his C4 charge... attaches it to the door... and detonates it while walking toward the hole.

Julian Sawyer: "Probly' whatever's sent the transmission..."

Metal Man (GM): You hear an explosion, and then a power surge.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...Mark?"

Metal Man (GM): Your dexes beep again.

Dragoshi: "...What the?"

Julian Sawyer: "..."

Wolfman was in the back... would he notice anything?

Julian Sawyer: "...Where's Aetos?"

Dragoshi pulls out his Dex, and opens it.

Julian Sawyer flips open his Dex.

Alexia: "What now?" *Opens her Dex.*

Charles Magellean opens his.

Wolfman turns around, then checks the dex.

Trigger opens his.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...son of a... that idiot!"

Smash Dex: "...Door integrity has been knocked down to sub-infinite containment. Level is at 100% and dropping from inner containment damage."

Wolfman: "This is Wolfman." *Checks to see where Aetos is... did he go behind me?*

Metal Man (GM): You don't see Aetos in the hole... but he's walking towards it.

Julian Sawyer: "...Ya see?! I was RIGHT!"

Dragoshi: "Welll... Crap."

Alexia: "...Dead man walking."

Julian Sawyer: "No one -CENSORED- listens 'till it's too late!"

Trigger: "..."

Dragoshi puts his Dex away if that's all.

Garrick Fy`aar throws himself upwards, climbing like mad back too the top.

Alexia: "Aetos, what did you DO?!"

Metal Man (GM): The power surge goes down again.

Julian Sawyer steams and heads back up.

Dragoshi flies back up.

Wolfman puts his dex away, and makes his way to the top: good thing he climbed last.

Aetos: "Heck if I know." *He jumps down the hole.*

Trigger climbs back up.

Metal Man (GM): Julian flies on up and gets back up with the others.

Dragoshi: "...He blew up the damn door, that's what"

Julian Sawyer: *Looks back at Dragoshi and Alexia* "You two owe me an apology!"

Charles Magellean: "Being a complete Skyhigh."

Wolfman: "Probably..."

Charles Magellean climbs down more.

Dragoshi: "...No I don't"

Metal Man (GM): The door has been heavily damaged. It appears to be heating up from the inside.

Digifanatic somewhat runs into the scene. "Sorry I'm late. What have I been missing?"

Metal Man (GM): Some of the welding has come off.

Alexia: "Uh, unless I'm wrong, this won't end well. At all."

Metal Man (GM): Maybe if you picked up some metallic stuff and re-welded it, it'd reseal.

Julian Sawyer: "Hell yeah you do! Not believin' me when I said Aetos was a -CENSORED- traitor!"

Garrick Fy`aar: "...damn! Somebody throw me some of those Metal Sonic corpses!"

Trigger: "Traitor?"

Dragoshi: "...I didn't know nor cared"

Metal Man (GM): Aetos, of course, is still in the same room.

Dragoshi: "Sheesh."

Charles Magellean: "...EVERYONE GO BACK UP."

Alexia: *Through gritted teeth* "Julian, NOT FREAKING NOW."

Aetos jumped down the hole.

Dragoshi is already back up.

Trigger is back up too.

Charles Magellean climbs frantically back up since it's taking so long to go down.

Metal Man (GM): ...Okay, Aetos jumped down the hole as you were climbing up... Aetos: Do you posess any manner of flying?

Julian Sawyer grabs some a that metallic stuff, and tries to do something like welding, using the flames from his Rocket Boots.

Alexia scans the door with her Dex..."What's the containment level now on that door?"

Metal Man (GM): ...100 foot drop... roll a tumble roll.

Garrick Fy`aar glares at Aetos before making for the door, pulling out his multi-tool and helps Julian, grabbing whatever bits and pieces of metal he can find...

Smash Dex: "97%."

Metal Man (GM): Aaand... dramatic pause!
As I must go to grandma's... be back in... 15 minutes?
Yes, yes.
Aetos' good roll saved him from rather disfiguring results; however, his fall was one which KO'd him and ate all but 1 HP.

Charles Magellean climbs outta the hole, seeing as how it doesn't matter how far down he was.

Julian Sawyer: *Welding. Another versatile use of the Rocket Boot.*

Alexia: "Uh, um... The Metal Sonic parts!"

Wolfman: "Do you require assistance?"

Metal Man (GM): Hmmm... I'd ask for a check, but I have no ability for welding/construction.

Alexia starts gathering them and passing them to Julian.

Julian Sawyer: "Get 'em! We runnin' outta metal!"

Metal Man (GM): So I'll base it on base d20's + MNT mod checks.
Julian and Garrick should roll those.

Trigger scrounges for more metal.

Metal Man (GM): Search check for Trigger.

Charles Magellean starts handing Metal Sonics as well. He then dexes for Metal.

Wolfman helps get metal as well...

Digifanatic has arrived where everyone else is and also decides to start looking...

Julian Sawyer: *It's kinda hard to weld with your foot.*

Metal Man (GM): Wolfman finds nuthin'

Digifanatic: "Nothing yet... Sorry..."

Metal Man (GM): Garrick and Julian weld up the hole... but it only brings it to 99%! They need more metal!
Wolfman takes a while looking.

Alexia passes the bar to Julian.

Metal Man (GM): He'll probably find some... after a while.

Alexia searches again for some more metal.

Julian Sawyer takes it and welds it over the weak spot.

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi finds another bar. Enough for either Julian or Garrick to roll a check.

Charles Magellean talks to Metal. "Hey, Metal. We have a situation here. Could you come over? I'll pay your bill if we succeed."

Julian Sawyer: *FAIL'D.*

Trigger searches for more metal.

Metal Man (GM): Julian sorta welds it to the wall.

Alexia: "Real nice, Julian."

Metal Man (GM): Garrick rips part of it away from him and welds it to the door.

Digifanatic tries once again to see if he can do something...

Metal Man (GM): *Zelda Door Switch locking sound.*

Julian Sawyer: "It's kinda hard to weld with your FOOT."

Digifanatic still can't catch a break.

Metal Man (GM): The door stays shut.
The power surges on again.

Garrick Fy`aar: "...there."

Smash Dex: "Containment re-established at 101%."

Digifanatic: "Better..."

Alexia: "Okay, dodged a bullet there..."

Charles Magellean closes his dex.

Charles Magellean: "If you hurry, you'll be able to catch up."

Metal Man (GM): Julian flies on down, and sees... Aetos, unconscious and with most of his bones broken down the hoooooole.

That would be trying to rewire it while power is flying through it.
You need it to be deactivated for a moment to rewire it first.

Wolfman just sits back, waiting to see if this is a trick... but he's aimed to fire his forehead buster just in case.

Metal Man (GM): His Egg-o-matic begins time-warping.

Garrick Fy`aar throws whatever this thing is at him...

Dragoshi: "Hopefully, He might have what we want... The Time Stones!"

Metal Man (GM): I have to disconnect for dinner... so a moment, please.
