Metal Man (GM): *Insert the best sort of 'mystery' tune you have here.*
Charles Magellean has been free of the responsibilities of protecting his new home, but since living alone for over a week, the way he has been acting well....
He comes out from the room of Holographing, wearing a black coat with a dragon on its back, him wearing sunglasses and jeans. He sings a verse whilst going out of the room.
"They're out to get you, better leave while you can; don't wanna be a boy, you wanna be a man! You wanna stay alive, better do what you can, so beat it, just beat it..."
Metal Man (GM): You hear a series of alarms go off, as well as the appearance of Trevor.
Trevor: "I am afraid something odd has occurred. A false alarm, but not for a bad reason."
Charles Magellean stops singing and takes off the sunglasses, putting inside his coat.
Metal Man (GM): The alarms turn off, but a holographic screen that appears shows the impossible.
The Neo-Earthian city, fully activated, full of people, who have apparently sent a transmission capable of piercing into the Light Side.
Not on purpose--but it got through nonetheless.
Charles Magellean way of talking has grown more eccentric as well.
"Out of the dark, the extincts pierce through the veil, sending a message?"
Trevor: "Most assuredly. This would make them the most powerful race to exist. ...Their survival... means... they defeated... the Solarians..."
Charles Magellean scoffs.
Trevor: "Their technology, even battered, is enough to rebuild everything they lost. And even odder... I see images of the Questers and Metal Man as their forefront men, as they take down a thing called a Phantom Lord and an entire Ivan cruiser.
As this occurs... the last of the old might of the Quester Hunters... has apparently died.
Killed... by a being who... is even more frightening."
Charles Magellean: "Matters of the Dark; absolved by its creatures."
Trevor: "I only mention this... because of two things. The Neo-Earthians once mapped this entire planet... and their signals, old as they were, were aimed here even though no physical scans would reveal it.
...It is a matter of time before they rediscover it. A while, yes, but they are the mightiest to appear on this planet for a long time.
Even longer before they can adapt to it...
We have only enough time for the lifetimes of this generation before they come here.
...What worries more, though...
...Is the unnamed being... his makeup... matches the description... of who poisoned this land with light.
He killed Ruvyn with but one swipe of the sword and all his men. Only the ex-IIF agents, as callous and unfaithful as they were, escaped alive.
This being appears to be incomplete but he may yet remember this land..."
Charles Magellean: "It may walk about us, but we of the Light are not concerned."
Trevor: "Perhaps, but... he is the lightbringer. While the others may find this place useless, he would know everything. But... this technology we have should hold him.
You are right... it was foolish to worry. He blasted his land because he hated what the inhabitants had done."
Charles Magellean feels doubt. "Display data of the unknown being."
Trevor: "Unknown dark matter being. Two pieces together: Soul and Mind. Displaying."
Metal Man (GM): You see an image of a tall man carrying a really long sword.
It's a silhouette, but you still see two very cruel-looking eyes, and he looks hardened by centuries of pain.
He has long hair.
Charles Magellean: "Define hair color."
Trevor: "Unknown. He is a silhouette of his true self, unable to recall his own name. He says he is incomplete.
He refuses to do more than, supposedly, what is his duty, in this form. He has yet to fight the Questers despite feeling mixed about them."
Charles Magellean: "Contrast appearance of this being to the one initially unsealed from Kakariko Graveyard."
Trevor: "100% match. He has added mental presence."
Charles Magellean: "Calculate length of its sword."
Trevor: "...50 inches. For the blade alone. 68 inches in total."
Charles Magellean: "Based on current information, is it possible to scan being's DNA?"
Trevor: "No body... no real form to scan."
Charles Magellean: "We of the Light did not expect anything else."
Trevor: "He is likely to be a problem, if he is the real thing. Remember, he destroyed a civilization more powerful than the Neo-Earthians, if he is the right one. ...And the Neo-Earthians, in turn, scoff at Gunicard, Ivan, and nuclear missiles."
Charles Magellean: "The leader beckons silence. The Light is to remember of his encounter in the twilight..."
*He begins typing... very fast.
He has his eyes closed, but knows of the commands of his computer. He compiles data of the first person he encountered near the upside-down town of Sardis Mongul in the X-zone.
* "Measurements, color depth, height, descriptions..."
*He is remembering of what Sephiroth looked like when he and Charles casually met in the X-zone.*
.oO(The silhouette does bear resemblance to him now that I think about it.)
*He becomes done typing. He looks up, to see if he got the physical dimensions of the silver-haired man right.*
Trevor: "..."
Metal Man (GM): It becomes obvious.
It overlaps perfectly.
Several versions of him, even.
One from the legend...
One from the holo tomb...
One from the town of Sardis Mongul..
..And this silhouette.
Charles Magellean clasps his hand onto his chest, falling to the ground.
Metal Man (GM): He's been everywhere and merely dormant during the first phase of the Quester existence.
According to the texts, he will seek his body... and then rain vengeance against all who he considers 'traitors'
Charles Magellean: "I-I-I-I-it's truly ----h-h-h-ii--mmm! The one that w-wa--waa----is----stronger than Kuja!!"
Trevor: "100% match. There is no chance of an error. He has been here all this time... and he killed the closest thing to Kuja in one hit."
Charles Magellean: "...S-s-s-s-Sephiroth. It all makes sense now.
He spoke to me of what he called the Lifestream that I call the Farplane.
The legends cannot be true... Trevor, bring up all available data regarding to Sephiroth."
Trevor: "There is a massive amount."
Metal Man (GM): It brings up all sorts of data. Fragments, yes, but put together, he can be seen as a loner.
Charles Magellean: "I will be busy the next few days, then."
Trevor: "...He does alone what Kuja cannot do with an entire army."
Charles Magellean: "I am very lucky that my sleep cycle is over. I will need every waking moment to read over all of this."
Metal Man (GM): You can see a lot. Sephiroth is apparently an oddity.
A heavily mako-irradiated Jenova specimen who, instead of dying, went insane... and sentiently insane.
Charles Magellean: "What is the estimated time for total data reading?"
Trevor: "Three days."
Charles Magellean: "..." *Puts away the coat.*
"Trevor, get me so Coca-cola. This... will take a while."
Trevor: "...The version we fight is a bit different, too..." *Summons Coca-cola*
"Erm... know.
He is the complete product."
Charles Magellean takes the soda in his hand, sips on it... and begins the three-day knowledge take-in.
Three-four days. That is the usual waiting time.
Metal Man (GM): TIC TAC TITLE... err... MISSION
Wolfman enters the Big Room with Gibby on his back.
"Okay Gibby, you got your free ride."
Gibby: "Thanks, Wolf! That was fun."
Dragoshi walks into the Big Room and leans against the wall.
Gibby hops off of Wolf and steps further inside.
Digifanatic walks in hearing that..."Oh, boy. This is gonna be fun."
Trigger walks in.
Wolfman: "I offer rides to anyone that wants them."
Digifanatic: "I'm fine..."
Wolfman: "Fair enough."
Aribar stands in the Big Room, ready for the next assignment.
Gibby: "So where are we missioning off to now?"
Wolfman turns to Metal, our current leader, for an update as to what's going on.
Metal Man: "Well... it's pretty simple. There's a bunch of strange ruins made by the Chozo, dating to shortly after the destruction of Neo-Earth."
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Wolfman: "The Chozo came here? No offense, but this doesn't sound like a planet they'd want to come by."
Dragoshi: "...Chozo, huh? This oughta be interesting."
Metal Man: "It was an outpost, of course. They came here because of the Neo-Earthian ruins and because... well... uhhh..."
Wolfman: .oO(Well that does make more sense)
Metal Man looks around. "You are all Questers, right? I want to make sure nobody unauthorized hears this."
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Wolfman does a quick 360
Gibby: "Last I checked I was."
Aribar: "Well, of course. We all signed the Manifesto."
VG: "Umm... should I leave?"
Trigger: "Yeah."
Digifanatic: "I don't remember seeing anything out of place here."
Metal Man: "No, you're cool."
VG: *Just overheard that.*
Metal Man: "Well... the Magnetic Wastes lay atop miles and miles of phazon."
VG closes and locks the Big Room doors.
"Okay, we're good."
Metal Man: "We don't know where it came from, but..."
Digifanatic: "Phazon--oh boy."
Metal Man: "I have an inkling the Chozo would know something about it. If the wrong people knew, we'd be facing more mutants than a bad sci-fi movie."
Gibby: "No good can come from Phazon..."
Wolf: "Wasn't Samus able to use Phazon before though? I don't recall her being bad."
Metal Man: "It is clearly foreign, and sealed well. These ruins hold the answer."
Dragoshi: "...A mile of WHAT?"
Trigger: "Hmm."
Metal Man: "As a weapon only... it cannot be used safely for peacetime battling. For it is a weapon of mass destruction."
Dragoshi: "...Yea. This has GOT to be sealed off."
Trigger: "We better go then."
Aribar: "So basically we're going to these ruins to try and find a way to make the Phazon less of a threat?"
Metal Man: "It was. Your agenda is to find out what it's about. You are going to the ruins to find out why it's there, and, maybe, how to get rid of it."
Gibby: "Will do, sir!"
Dragoshi: "...Understood."
Trigger: "Got it, sir."
Wolf: "Affirmative."
Digifanatic: "Oh, alright. Shouldn't be uno problemo."
Aribar nods. "Okay."
Wolf: .oO(...this was the type of mission for a cloak...)
Dragoshi walks towards the elevator.
Metal Man: "The warp elevator is ready...."
Digifanatic heads over to the elevator as normal.
VG: "Can I open the doors now?"
Trigger does the same.
Metal Man: "Yea."
VG: *Does so* "I'll be at R&R if I'm needed by you or SIMBER later."
Digifanatic looks at Trigger. "I think this should be a somewhat quiet mission."
Wolf goes to elevator as VG goes to R&R.
Digifanatic: "No Julian in your way."
Trigger: "Hmm. Yeah."
Dragoshi: "Yep."
Trigger: "Thank god."
Wolfman: "Julian hasn't been in many missions as of late... is he feeling alright?"
Aribar enters the elevator. "I'm all stocked up on those Ivantek healing vials. If you guys get hurt out there don't be afraid to ask for one."
Gibby side steps his way into the elevators.
Digifanatic: "Remember folks, believe only 1% of what he says."
Metal Man: "3... 2... 1... warp activated."
Metal Man (GM): You notice a new improvement;
Gibby: "Eh... who knows what that guy's--*Warp*"
Dragoshi: "Though, just in case we DO have to face any problems... I'll take care of-" *Warp.*
Metal Man (GM): The elevator doesn't actually go up, but you're warped directly by an upwards-moving beam.
Digifanatic: "This is different, and better."
Dragoshi: "-'em. ...Also, that was a lot quicker. And better"
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* You fly through good ol' white space, passing the Businessman before appearing at... a similar warp spot of the Chozo.
Trigger: "That was cool."
Gibby shakes his head.
Wolfman warps in... and materializes.
Gibby: "Woah... crazy."
Metal Man (GM): You're in a building made of rock... a door is directly behind you.
Digifanatic: "If you think that was interesting, wait till a computer is your medium of teleportation."
Wolfman: "Remind me to eventually get a working teleporter on me."
Metal Man (GM): Ahead of you is a huge amount of dusty glass, and you can see a whole bunch of rocky towers out ahead.
Aribar looks about the immediate area. "Hrm... Why do we always seem to see that suited fellow when we warp? It's a bit odd."
Dragoshi looks toward the door "Magnificent." Looks over at the dusty glass first.
Gibby: "I take it those are the ruins?"
Wolfman: "Most likely Gibby."
Digifanatic: "Haven't paid attention to that, Aribar."
Metal Man (GM): The area is covered in glyphs, but no energy is here.
Trigger: "Hmm."
Digifanatic checks out the scenery...
Dragoshi: "...Huh."
Metal Man (GM): The glass is merely to be looked through; it's ancient.
Digifanatic: "Well, there's a door. Might as well head through."
Trigger: "Should we go in?"
Dragoshi walks towards the door.
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
*He follows the Yoshi on through.*
Aribar shrugs and starts towards the door. "Maybe I just have an overly active imagination..."
Gibby: "Doors -were- made to be entered through."
*He goes through the door as well.*
Wolfman: "That's not the only use of doors you know..."
Metal Man (GM): Through the door-shaped hole, you encounter a room with a hole in the center of it, a large one, which leads down to a floor below.
Wolfman follows.
Metal Man (GM): Down below you see an elevator. All 10 feet below, of course.
Gibby: "It's the only thing I use them for."
Metal Man (GM): It's dead.
Wolfman tries to see if there are any other paths besides the hole.
Metal Man (GM): The wall ahead is crumbled and broken, all sorts of dusty is there. No other way down, though.
Dragoshi jumps down.
Gibby: "...Man, we always get the dead elevators."
Metal Man (GM): You jump down with ease.
Wolfman: "Gibby, you can float down easily. Digi, want a ride down?"
Metal Man (GM): Down here lies more dust, and a door to the outside.
Gibby nods, inflates, and rolls himself down the hole.
Aribar: "Well, at least this elevator shaft wouldn't kill us if we fell down it."
Digifanatic: "Eh. I've seen worse falls."
Dragoshi opens the door and walks through it.
Trigger jumps down the hole.
Digifanatic gently jumps down, bracing for the impact!
Aribar walks over to the edge of the hole and hops in.
Gibby deflates once he hits the ground and goes through the door.
Wolfman hovers down slowly, a la Rush.
Metal Man (GM): You leap down.
Dragoshi opens the door, which leads into a brown, beaten path, with a few pavers in it.
Dragoshi: "...Huh." *Motions for the others to follow, if they haven't that is.*
Trigger follows Dragoshi.
Metal Man (GM): This path leads directly into the ruins; a weird set of empty walls to your right, and to your left a rectangular set of foundations.
Digifanatic steadily walks through, looking somewhat carefully in the hall.
Gibby looks down at the path, and the up at the ruins.
Wolfman catches up with the others... he barely catches some sort of signal... he moves slowly, trying to take in everything.
Metal Man (GM): Forget about being destroyed, this place is a dustbin.
Wolfman: .oO(Good grief... these ruins ARE ruined)
Metal Man (GM): The movement of the sun places it so that the dusty road ahead corresponds to where the sun is now.
Aribar follows the others. "Geeze. These ruins are really old..."
Dragoshi: "...Yeesh."
Gibby: "I would think they would be."
Trigger: "Yeah."
Metal Man (GM): The light forms a variety of strange shapes on the walls, formed by light shining through the weird hollow walls.
Digifanatic: "Like Metal said, dates back to around Neo-Earth."
Gibby walks down the path.
Digifanatic: "At least a couple of thousand of years, I'd say."
Wolfman: "Let's try not to disturb much of anything while we're here if at all possible."
Trigger: "Ok."
Metal Man (GM): Walking down the path takes you to the entrance of the hollow walls, and further down is a small space in the ruined foundations where the doorstep would have been.
Dragoshi follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): Which way do you go?
Gibby: "Hmm... where to go?"
Digifanatic: "Left? Nothing important on the right, it looks like."
Wolfman: "Do we split up or stay together?"
Metal Man (GM): To the right is the ruined hollow wall area.
Digifanatic: "Just a bunch of carved out nothingness."
Aribar: "Hrm. I guess we should start checking out these ruins rather than just walking about... We should stay together. Not sure what's here."
Gibby: "We should stay... who knows what threat is around here."
Metal Man (GM): Ahead to the left are the foundations.
Trigger: "We should go left."
Digifanatic: "I say stay as well."
Aribar takes a peek into the entrance of the hollowed walls.
Trigger: "...Ok, I'll just follow someone."
Gibby: "See anything, Ari?"
Metal Man (GM): The hollow walled area consists of crumbly walls with mottled orange-ish adobe bricks, with intricate light patterns shining through holes in the walls.
You'd need to go inside to get a better look.
Wolfman waits for Aribar's response.
Aribar: "Eh. Just a darkened corridor. I don't know what's down it, though."
Gibby: "Well since we're here, we might as well check it out."
Digifanatic: "Alright, I suppose so."
Gibby walks up to the entrance along with Ari and steps inside.
Digifanatic follows the first two down.
Trigger walks in as well.
Dragoshi follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): Stepping inside, you see the light through the wall forms that of various shapes.
Wolfman follows along.
Metal Man (GM): It also makes the appearance of... well, first, some land, just like the one you're on.
A sphere-shaped object is rising out of it as the sun moves.
Digifanatic: "Hang on."
Gibby stops.
Trigger: "What?"
Gibby: "What's up?"
Digifanatic: "More than carved out nothingness!"
Dragoshi: "...Yes?"
Metal Man (GM): You also see a sun made of light moving above the whole image, which includes trees and buildings.
Aribar enters the walled area and looks at the walls. "Hey, I think... Just my imagination, but the lights on the wall look weird."
Digifanatic: "Something's popping out."
Wolfman: "Is anyone freaked out by what they are observing?"
Dragoshi: "...Ah. Think I should dex it?"
Digifanatic looks at the strange sphere.
Trigger: "Not really."
Metal Man (GM): The sphere shaped light projection appears to be larger than most of the buildings.
Dragoshi: "And, no. I've seen creepier."
Gibby: "...Not really. Looks like light through holes in the wall."
Metal Man (GM): It floats up and soon stops in one area above the whole scenery of lights.
Trigger: "Looks like nothing too major."
Gibby: "...ok -that- was strange."
Digifanatic: "Hang on for a second."
Aribar: "No, it's moving..."
Dragoshi: "Eh, somewhat."
Wolfman: "...fair enough."
Digifanatic: "On the threshold of something strange here..."
Trigger: "Looks like a light show."
Metal Man (GM): Besides that you see another scene; this one stationary.
Aribar: "Maybe instead of runes on the walls the Chozo used... Light?"
Metal Man (GM): A large temple, and the shape of a man dead inside it.
Gibby: "...NOW it's creepy."
Trigger: "Yeah."
Digifanatic looks to see if there are any small pebbles or such on the ground.
Metal Man (GM): To the right of the scene that's still moving you see a glimpse of a light speck, but nothing else yet. The sun is in the wrong position.
Plenty of them, scattered about.
Wolfman: "Good to know that I'm not the only one spooked."
Digifanatic takes a couple and tosses one up to the sphere if he can.
Metal Man (GM): It's merely an image of the sun going through the wall; the pebbles shade it a little but bounce off the wall.
Dragoshi: "...Interesting."
Digifanatic: "Oh... thought it was something solid when I saw the shape."
Aribar takes out his Dex and checks the time.
Gibby: "It's an interesting wall design I guess."
Digifanatic: "I guess it was worth it, so far."
Smash Dex: "Current time is 18:35 PM."
Digifanatic: "Well, 6:30 then... Five but ya get the point."
Wolfman: "The dex needs fixing..."
Aribar: "I think we might have come a bit late in the day to see some of the pictures here..."
Wolfman: "It shouldn't spit out military time AND PM."
Digifanatic: "True."
Trigger: "Hmm, that's weird."
Dragoshi: "Yea."
Metal Man (GM): Indeed, there are more holes, more scenes possible.
But it's a bit late to see them. The empty area seems devoid of any more information.
Trigger: "Anyone got a flashlight?"
Digifanatic: "Well, colorful light show's practically done. No, sorry."
Dragoshi: "...Well, I suppose we can go back and go down the other path then, right?"
Gibby: "Right. Lets go!"
Trigger: "Ok."
Digifanatic: "Light Ray's the closest thing I could do. And it's way too narrow."
Dragoshi goes back and does so.
Wolfman: "No way to fit through then?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Aribar pockets the dex. and looks at the pictures ahead. "We might have to come back tomorrow... Nope. The best I can do is make a bit of lightning with a Bolt spell..."
Gibby heads outside of the room and moves on to the foundations.
Digifanatic heads back across with the others.
Trigger follows the others.
Wolfman reluctantly follows the others.
Aribar follows the other Questers back to the foundation.
Metal Man (GM): You go to the foundations... immediately you hear a pressure plate click.
Dragoshi: "..."
Gibby: "...What was that?"
Digifanatic: "Move back..."
Metal Man (GM): The foundations rise up and move precisely to make another scene.
Digifanatic steps back a bit to remove some of the weight.
"Or not."
Trigger: "That doesn't sound good. Oh."
Dragoshi doesn't do so, but floats a little bit.
Wolfman stops.
Metal Man (GM): You see one... hmmm... isn't this strange.
Aribar steps back. "Now, what's this?"
Wolfman gets a look at this new thing...
Metal Man (GM): It shows a bunch of dead people with what is clearly the Questers standing above them.
Dragoshi: "...Huh."
Gibby: "...Buh?"
Digifanatic: "Oh, now THIS is screwed up!"
Wolfman: "..."
Trigger: "...Weird."
Metal Man (GM): It also shows Kuja, impaled on his own tower.
Dragoshi: "...Oh, NICE."
Digifanatic: "But hey, that's a scene I like to see any day!"
Trigger: "...Wow."
Wolfman tries to see WHICH questions were depicted.
Gibby: "Oooooh... it's like a memorial or something."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Aribar: "Well, this prophecy was told correctly..."
Digifanatic: "Kuja's suicide cult?"
Metal Man (GM): You see all of the Questers as of the end of Season 6 there.
Trigger: "Cool."
Wolfman: "Hmm... I'm not on there."
Metal Man (GM): Finally, you see... a strange crystal-shape off to the side.
It's a sort of... button.
Digifanatic: "Maybe they did this as a horrid reminder out here in the ruins..."
Dragoshi: "...Interesting." *Looks to the shape.*
Gibby: "...Hey, that looks like a--"
Wolfman looks at the shape...
Digifanatic grabs Gibby.
Trigger: "What?"
Gibby: "..." @_!
Wolfman: "..."
Digifanatic: "Ohhhhh no you don't."
Gibby: "Ho-hold me down!"
Wolfman: .oO(Not this again)
Metal Man (GM): It appears to be in the shape of a phazon crystal.
Trigger: "What the hell..."
Gibby closes his eyes.
Aribar looks at the crystal. "What is that?"
Dragoshi looks at it.
Digifanatic sets him down.
Wolfman tries to move slowly towards this phazon button... while still keeping a distance.
Trigger looks at it too.
Metal Man (GM): A crystal-shaped indentation in a rock piece that looks loose and pressable.
Aribar decides to scan the phazon crystal with his dex.
Dragoshi does the same as Ari.
Gibby: "D-d-don't let me go now."
Smash Dex: "The Chozo glyph for 'Phazon', attached to a pressure-controlled mechanism."
Trigger turns to Gibby. "Dude, what's wrong?"
Digifanatic: "He has an obsession..."
Wolfman: "...a bad obsession."
Trigger: "To phazon?"
Aribar: "To buttons."
Wolfman: "Nope."
Gibby: "GAH! You had to say it..."
Trigger: "Oh..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... to... them."
Dragoshi: "...If it was Phazon that'd be WORSE."
Gibby nods.
Dragoshi: "The obsession I mean."
Wolfman: "At least I can hide my... stuff... with a mental command."
Digifanatic: "I dunno HOW it started."
Aribar: "And speaking of bu... Err... Pressable things, I don't think this one should be pressed. We don't know if it's some sort of trap."
Trigger: "It's like having a death-prone friend."
Digifanatic: "But it got the worst of him..."
Gibby: "A loooong time ago..."
Wolfman: "Gibby: not now. Question to all of you: should we just leave this room without touching it?"
Gibby: "Er... right. Sorry."
Digifanatic: "Problem is: is there anywhere else to go so far?"
Dragoshi: "...No. Not that I know of."
Digifanatic: "If the middle path doesn't go much farther, we're stuck."
Aribar: "We could try looking elsewhere. As for the pressable crystal... Well, I just hope it doesn't dump Phazon on us or something."
Trigger: "Unless..."
Digifanatic: "Long range attack, anybody?"
Dragoshi: "...Why would ANYONE, let alone the friggin' CHOZO make a trap like THAT?"
Wolfman: "Hang on: let me propose this. We explore the rest of the paths."
Gibby: "W-what if it has a connection with the walls of light we saw before?"
Wolfman: "If we're still stuck, we ask Metal for assistance."
Digifanatic: "Alright. And Gib has a point.
We have the lights back across the hall, and these."
Trigger: "Ok."
Wolfman: "...you guys decide: I'm neutral on this."
Trigger: "Same here."
Digifanatic: "We have a sun, the landscape, a temple, a dead man, and the downfall of Kuja."
Aribar: "I'm not entirely sure who the Chozo are, Dragoshi. I know Samus encountered them before, but besides that I know little about them... I like Wolf's idea for exploring the other paths."
Digifanatic tries to figure out what sort of connection there could be.
Gibby: "Hmm... could it be that it somehow changes the location of the walls to fit where the sun is?"
Digifanatic: "I got nothing. As usual."
Metal Man (GM): You decide they are all things to do with Dominoes pizza.
Dragoshi tries to do the same...
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi scratches his head, not sure whether they're of the past or made recently.
Gibby: "Or maybe it opens up -more- of these wall patterns..."
Digifanatic: "True! Never thought of that."
Trigger: "..."
Dragoshi: "Hmm..." *Tries to think HARDER.*
Wolfman just goes in sitting position right now... he waits for the others to decide.
Gibby: "I say PRESS IT!"
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi becomes confused even faster than before.
Gibby twitches slightly.
Aribar starts walking towards the button. "Y'know, my curiosity is asking me to find out what the button does."
Digifanatic: "Alright, Ari."
Gibby: "Do it, Ari... press it!"
Wolfman hits the dirt.
Dragoshi: "...Look. If you want to press the bloody button, press it."
Digifanatic: "Go for it. I don't think anything bad can come out of it... but..."
*He does stand back a step or two.*
Dragoshi floats back a little bit, then crouches low.
Aribar picks up the pace and presses the button.
Trigger hides behind something.
Gibby: "WHEEE!"
Metal Man (GM): It sinks in, then the ground suddenly vanishes and you float down one story... into some sort of lore area.
The floor appears again, this time as your ceiling.
Digifanatic: "Okay, that was tolerable."
Gibby: "...Not too bad."
Metal Man (GM): Down here you see a large amount of written runes; five texts on the walls.
Trigger: "...This is screwed up."
Digifanatic: "And did someone say runes?"
Wolfman can't tell if he's upside down or not.
Digifanatic: "Here ya go."
Gibby: "I didn't."
Metal Man (GM): There's another phazon-shaped crystal button down here... to go upstairs, apparently.
Dragoshi tries to read one of the runes to himself (Read Archaic Check?)
Gibby: "I call that one!"
Wolfman: "Gibby, hold on."
Gibby: "Just saying..."
Digifanatic: "Let's read what these are first!"
Trigger tackles Gibby.
Gibby: "I -GAH!"
Digifanatic: "Thank you, Trigger."
Gibby: "...You didn't have to do THAT..."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi: It says 'We stored the great poison on this barren planet in order to ??????'
Trigger: "Sorry Gibby, just doin' my job."
Aribar: "I've a little bit of a knack for translating these types of things..."
Digifanatic: "Anyways... Dragoshi, got something?"
Gibby gets up and brushes off the dirt.
Wolfman waits to hear Dragoshi's report.
Dragoshi: "...We stored the great poison on this barren planet in order to... That's where I can't translate."
Digifanatic: "Okay, that's Phazon, of course."
Aribar heads up to the text Dragoshi is at and tries to work out the last part. "Let me see..."
Digifanatic: "Go for it."
Trigger: "Find anything usefully yet?"
Metal Man (GM): BZT. You don't recognize the rest either.
Digifanatic: "Lemme at it."
*He rinse lather Archaics repeat.*
Aribar: "This is a toughie... I can't get it."
*He steps back and allows others a chance.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi reads another one.
Digifanatic: "I have something here..."
Metal Man (GM): 'The great prophets of old entered their knowledge into the hallowed walls above.'
Digifanatic repeats that comment.
Dragoshi attempts to read the third.
Digifanatic: .oO(Ooh, sounds like 2112.)
Aribar: "That would explain the Kuja image."
Gibby: "Indeed."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Metal Man (GM): 'Beware the wrath of the circular king who wields the largest.'
Trigger: "Ok."
Gibby: "Circular king?"
Dragoshi repeats what he translated from the third one, then attempts to translate the fourth.
Trigger: "Hmm."
Metal Man (GM): 'All will be... *strange word* ????'
Digifanatic: "So... storing Phazon to do something, prophets predicting us beating Kuja, wrath of a king..."
Aribar: "Circular king... Well, in the hollowed walls there was a big circle that was above the world. That must be a prophecy."
Metal Man (GM): You can see two translations for the strange word.
Dragoshi: "All will be something, something..."
Metal Man (GM): 'Finished' or 'Fine'
Wolfman: "...circular..."
Digifanatic tries to finish off that first line of runes.
Metal Man (GM): Nothin'.
Dragoshi: "It will either be finished or fine."
Digifanatic: "Okay..."
Gibby: "Oh gee, what a GREAT range..."
Wolfman: "Are Metroids considered circular?"
Dragoshi: "Digi, can you help me try and translate the fourth one?"
Digifanatic: "Dunno."
Aribar: "That has to refer to the Cycles that Nintendus goes through."
Trigger: "I don't think so. Yeah."
Digifanatic: "Ari, you're probably right. Sure."
Metal Man (GM): Only one remaining.
Dragoshi then finishes off the last one.
Digifanatic tries to pickup that last word on 4.
Aribar: "Because either everything is destroyed, or not. Simple as that. I think..."
Digifanatic: "Still can't figure it out."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi: 'We are a yellow tube of glue.'
Gibby: "Bah... we need a translation book or something."
Metal Man (GM): Digi: 'We are the voyagers of blue octopus lasers.'
Wolfman takes a crack... obviously he knows next to nothing, but who knows...
Metal Man (GM): Wolf: 'We all live in a yellow submarine.'
Trigger tries to read it.
Gibby: "Alright, I'm going to figure this thing out myself!"
Digifanatic goes for #5!
Metal Man (GM): Trigger: 'We have come to steal your brains.'
Aribar: "Well, can you guys figure out the last one?"
Digifanatic: "Hang on! I may have something."
Gibby hangs.
Digifanatic: *Squinty.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi: 'We are voyagers looking for truth.'
Digifanatic: "We are voyagers looking for truth! There we go!"
Gibby: "...What the heck does THAT mean?"
Trigger: "Because the truth... is out there."
Digifanatic: "Okay, take it from the top."
Metal Man (GM): You hear a rumble outside.
Digifanatic: "Storing Phazon for something odd, prophets predicted our def--oh, man..."
Gibby: "...I don't like the sound of that."
Digifanatic copies these messages into his Dex.
Trigger: "Hmm..."
Gibby: "We better head up."
Aribar: "Could someone be attacking the ruins?"
Wolfman: "Good idea."
*He goes to Rush Mode.*
"Anyone want a ride?"
Gibby rushes over to the button and presses it!
Trigger: "ME!"
Metal Man (GM): You float on to the top.
Dragoshi: "Woah."
Gibby: "No need..."
Metal Man (GM): You can see down the brown path... it lines up with.. ...
Trigger gets on Wolf.
Metal Man (GM): A massive spherical space station rising from Lake Hyrule.
Digifanatic is up there!
Metal Man (GM): It faces the path, and is about the size of the moon. Nay... larger.
Dragoshi: "...Wonderful. Bloody wonderful."
Wolfman: "What the slag is that?!?"
Gibby: "..."
Metal Man (GM): For real.
Gibby slaps himself in the face.
Wolfman: "Come on: let's go!"
Metal Man (GM): It has the face of Ivo Robotnik on it.
Trigger: "..."
Wolfman starts flying towards it, Trigger on his back.
Trigger: "I thought we killed him?"
Gibby: "Why? Why NOW?"
Aribar: "I thought you guys killed him..."
Dragoshi: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The entire ground vibrates with it flying out of the ocean.
Gibby: "We DID... didn't we?"
Dragoshi: "Yea."
Metal Man (GM): You can even remember... the mural showed a sphere rising from the ground... and before you is a massive sphere.
It's floating far off the ground now.
Digifanatic: "Oh, great..."
Dragoshi: "It HAS to be one of his deadly inventions!"
Trigger: "Freaky."
Aribar gets on his Dex and calls Metal. "Metal, you there? This is urgent."
Wolfman: "You've said it."
Metal Man (GM): You take out your dex, and the transmission is interrupted.
Ivo Robotnik's face appears on it.
Wolfman wonders how close Trigger and him are to the sphere.
Aribar: "...Blast it."
Wolfman: .oO(...is this the Death Egg?)
Ivo Robotnik: "Behold... the Gravity Egg! Destroyer of planets!"
Dragoshi: "...I thought you were temporally annihilated."
Wolfman: .oO(...close enough)
Digifanatic: "Dex hacked again, Hunter?"
Aribar nods.
Trigger: "Oi."
Digifanatic rolls his head. "Figures."
Aribar: "How did you survive? ... And get such a thing?"
Ivo Robotnik: "Only a man with my genius could have created this marvelous plan... you see... Questers... I planned to lose to you all along."
Aribar: .oO(Oh, please, Gunicard, work for once...)
Gibby: "...Say wha?"
Ivo Robotnik: "You destroyed the Time Stones for me."
Digifanatic: .oO(!!!)
Dragoshi: "...You bloody brilliant son of a *Draconic*!"
Trigger: "!!!"
Ivo Robotnik: "The Gravity Egg is powered by differences in temperature."
Gibby: "I... don't follow."
Wolfman: .oO(...I'm confused)
Ivo Robotnik: "Imagine... the heat caused by seven fully-charged relics exploding. ...Surrounded by a cold ocean."
Trigger: "..."
Ivo Robotnik: "The power generated was enough to power my Gravity Egg for a thousand years!"
Aribar: "Eventually the temperature will even out. Your plan is flawed."
Ivo Robotnik: "Ah, but that is what batteries are for!"
Aribar: "..."
Digifanatic: .oO(What? A million Double A's?)
Trigger: "...Great."
Dragoshi: "...Yeesh. Did you make some sort of supra-battery?"
Metal Man (GM): You'd notice he appears far leaner now, and even looks slightly taller.
Gibby: "Wouldn't surprise me..."
Ivo Robotnik: "None of your business to know. I wish to make my intentions clear to the soon ex-Questers."
Wolfman: .oO(Well, spill it!)
Digifanatic: .oO(This is when Julian actually wouldn't hurt.)
Aribar: .oO(Well, at least he still tells his plans to us so we can defeat him...)
Ivo Robotnik: "I will rule your planet and your people... and create Robotnikland!"
Dragoshi: "..."
Trigger: "...It's about time Ivo discovered lipo-suction."
Aribar: "Can't you just let us live in peace?"
Ivo Robotnik: "I shall do so first... by attacking Atlantis, and destroying it with my greatest weapon of all time!"
Gibby: "We've heard the story before, Robuttnik. Face it, you'll NEVER get the better of us."
Dragoshi: "...Broken record is you!"
Ivo Robotnik: "The Egg Flameinizer! Then... I shall use my weapon to melt the ice caps... burn the cities... and kill everyone!"
Digifanatic: .oO(Flames... oh boy.)
Ivo Robotnik: "Hahahahaha... hahahahahaaaaa!"
Trigger: "...Yeah."
Metal Man (GM): The transmission cuts out, as you hear something else.
Aribar: "Ivo, if you kill everyone then no one will be around to 'appreciate' your work. Bah..."
Wolfman: "...it's too late."
Gibby: "...He's gone."
Metal Man (GM): The sound of rockets.
Trigger: "...Not good."
Gibby looks up.
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* One of them lands nearby, blasting right by a wall.
Wolfman wonders where the rockets are being aimed at.
Trigger: "...NOT GOOD!!"
Metal Man (GM): They come from the air near the Gravity Egg...
Gibby leaps back.
Metal Man (GM): ...And to boot comes a cloud of Eggrobos packing pistols.
They see you and open fire with lasers.
Dragoshi floats back, like Gibby.
Gibby: "We got company!"
Wolfman: "Okay guys, scatter!"
Metal Man (GM): The entire area begins to be sprayed with laser fire.
Aribar: "Gah!" *The elf pockets his dex and takes out Moonlight before seeking cover behind some rubble.*
Digifanatic runs off if he can...
Metal Man (GM): You better move, or you'll be swiss cheese.
Digi: To where?
Aribar: .oO(I liked these things better when I controlled them!)
Metal Man (GM): Aribar runs behind a wall, out of the way of the lasers.
Dragoshi follows Ari.
Metal Man (GM): Digi runs inside the hall.
Gibby gets himself out of there! He follows Ari out of the way.
Wolfman attempts to fly himself and Trigger with the others.
Metal Man (GM): *TSEER* A laser hits Wolf in the shoulder from behind.
They're getting closer.
Trigger: "GO AHHH!! You ok Wolf?"
Gibby: "What's the plan, guys?"
Wolfman: "I'm a little shaky, but alright."
*He tries to get to safety FASTER.*
Digifanatic: "Okay, where do we go?"
Metal Man (GM): You get behind the walls and such.
All of you.
The platoon of Eggrobos, all 100 of them, land and begin marching towards your positions.
Aribar: .oO(Think... Think...) "Oh, I don't know... Ah! Maybe the Dexes are working!"
Digifanatic: *Quieter* "What do we DO? No..."
Aribar sheaths Moonlight and takes out his dex. He tries to contact Metal. "Oh, by Whaller, come in!"
Digifanatic: "It didn't work when we tried Metal! What makes you think it'll work now?!"
Smash Dex: "Bzt. Transmission jammed."
Wolfman: "We might have to make a getaway."
Aribar: "What other chance do we got?"
Gibby: "So much for help."
Trigger: "Craptastic..."
Wolfman: "We'll be no good if we're stuck here, and you know it."
Digifanatic: "Julian, he's not here."
Smash Dex: "Systems report 'Gravity Egg' to be jamming all transmissions."
Aribar: "Dex, can you warp us back to HQ?"
Digifanatic: "Void, but we need Metal. And we can't get Metal."
Metal Man (GM): You're vastly outnumbered and sitting in old ruins. They're about 5 feet from Ari's position.
Smash Dex: "Transmissions, Aribar. Blocked."
Wolfman: "Trigger, get off of me. Dragoshi, get on. Perhaps we should Kilo Tornado them and give the others a chance to make a break."
Dragoshi: "...Good idea."
Trigger: "Ok."
Dragoshi gets on Wolf as Trigger gets off.
Aribar: "Damn!" *The elf looks for other cover he could get to without being shot at too much.*
Trigger gets off Wolf.
Digifanatic: "Go get em, you two."
Gibby: "Hurry though! They're getting closer!"
Metal Man (GM): You hear Eggman's theme play as they get into formation and begin turning towards Aribar's position.
Trigger takes out Badelaire.
Wolfman and Dragoshi step out and immediately do a Team Up attack: Ice Tornado and Kilo Crush to hopefully stop them... or at least slow them down.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: Not much, you can run behind the ruins you teleported into.
Digifanatic: .oO(No Metal/Void, no Julian, can't Digiport... almost screwed,)
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman and Dragoshi attack them. They turn around mechanically and open fire on Wolfman and Dragoshi.
AGI checks, Wolf and Dragoshi.
Digifanatic: "Ari, a fourth option?"
Wolfman is sort of carrying Dragoshi... unsure how this will work.
Aribar presses his hand against the rubble he's hiding behind and tries to use Energy Control to make it form into a wall. If that works the elf would run back to some other cover.
"Running seems good right now!"
Gibby: "Very good!"
Digifanatic: "Alright..."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi is shot to pieces. 525 damage to him.
Wolfman leaps behind a piece of rubble in time to avoid the shots.
Trigger: "My... god."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: Roll the energy control check.
Gibby: "...They're serious alright."
Wolfman somehow had Dragoshi slip from under him...
Metal Man (GM): The robots recharge their weapons and advance on Wolfman, shooting his rubble barrier.
*BLAMBLAMBLAMBLAM* The barrier is incinerated by lasers.
Wolfman lines himself with the exit, and attempts to Rocket Tackle out of here!
Trigger: "This isn't good."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar makes a small, ill-constructed barrier, but is off to the side as Wolfman runs.
Wolfman: .oO(Gotta play the chase game... let them follow me to let the others escape)
Gibby looks around for any holes or caves of some sort that they could run or fall into.
Metal Man (GM): They chase Wolfman, leaving everyone else to do a free action.
Gibby: You remember the cave you were just in.
Gibby: "...The cave! Guys, lets go back in!"
Metal Man (GM): Wolf runs away... chased by Eggrobos who move at their highest speed after him.
Trigger: "Ok!"
Wolfman starts to try to fly out, leaving chase.
Digifanatic: "Aribar, Gibby--right... And Trigger...
Yeah, head down."
Metal Man (GM): They catch up to him, and then open fire at him. Dragoshi is revived by now.
AGI check, Wolfman.
Wolfman hopes to swerve again.
Dragoshi runs away and follows the majority.
Digifanatic: "Ari, see if it's possible if you can cast a trap on the floor switch."
Aribar: .oO(That isn't going to hold... Time to be a bit more... Suicidal.) *The elf would point Moonlight at the mass of robots and create a burst of flaming embers in a 20 foot circle.* (Lava Blast...)
Trigger runs back in the cave.
Wolfman is hit!
Metal Man (GM): 450 laser damage to Wolfman.
Gibby starts huffing and puffing his way back to the cave.
Wolfman: *BOOM Boom boom boom boom...* (loss of life, obviously)
Metal Man (GM): The group is hit from behind by fire, but they don't seem too heavily damaged.
They turn and open fire on Aribar.
AGI check, Aribar.
Digifanatic makes a diving run for the Phazon switch!
Aribar watches as they go to fire at him... The elf would use try to use as much Chaos Control as possible to help dodge. (Can I use 9 points to add 9 to my roll?)
Metal Man (GM): The others (behind Aribar) press the switch and go down, as Aribar is attacked by the full might of the Eggman army.
Aribar teleports entirely out of the way.
He's behind some ruins now.
Digifanatic: "Oh, man, Ari's not following us. I hope he's alright..."
Trigger: "NOT GOOD!!!"
Gibby: "He'll manage."
Metal Man (GM): They recharge and prepare to attack again, as Wolfman revives with the whole army's back to him.
Digifanatic: *Whispers* "Now keep quiet!"
Gibby nods in agreement.
Trigger: *Quietly* "Sorry."
Aribar: .oO(Okay... That didn't work.)
Digifanatic sees if there are any safe spots down here.
Metal Man (GM): They fly towards Aribar's position... he can get an action out before they commence an assault against him.
Wolfman knows discretion is the better part of valor... he attempts to fly away and out of range of the Gravity Egg to call for backup.
Aribar starts looking for more ruins to hide behind and starts towards them.
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman is able to run away from the area. He will take a few rounds to actually get help.
Aribar: You see some more inside the hollowed walls. Or you could trigger the phazon crystal area.
They chase, but, naturally, Aribar is out of range.
So Aribar may make another action.
Digifanatic: *Still looking for a hiding spot down here.*
Aribar: .oO(I know! I can run away forever!) *The elf runs to the phazon crystal area. The elf figures that they might not detect him if he's underground.*
Metal Man (GM): Down there? Well, you can hide under some rocks.
Aribar runs to the area and vanishes, the robots now lost.
Everyone's dex beeps.
Digifanatic: *Still quietly* "Ah, you're here."
Gibby grabs his dex and opens it.
Trigger answers is dex.
Dragoshi opens up his dex.
Gibby: "Good job, Ari."
Ivan Robotnik: (Dex) "We have detected the enemy and are sending reinforcements."
Digifanatic opens his Dex and turns the volume down a bit...
Aribar: "There you guys are... Sorry, got sidetracked."
*He switches out for his Dex and opens it.*
Digifanatic: "Don't worry. Are you alright?"
Metal Man (GM): You see a bunch of men armed with laser guns descend into the area on the dex.
Wolfman switches it to radio mode... no time to stop and read: need to get going to help.
Trigger: "At least your ok."
Metal Man (GM): They begin firing it out with the Eggrobos.
Dragoshi: "Thank you."
Gibby: "Great! Just what we need!"
Aribar: "Ivan, Ivo is on the loose. Big huge gravity ball thing! Please have the Gunicard thing nuke it."
Trigger: "Armed troops..."
Metal Man (GM): Ivo's face appears opposite his on the same transmission.
Ivo Robotnik: "How dare you! I shall burn you all to cinders!"
Ivan Robotnik: "You shall never defeat the APN."
Dragoshi looks over to the Ivo side "...Great. An uninvited PEST."
Trigger: "Where is Sam when you need her?"
Digifanatic: "I dunno."
Metal Man (GM): The fighting gets more intense.
Digifanatic: "Hopefully somewhere where she can find out what's going on."
Metal Man (GM): You see several small Robotnik cruisers fly in and begin shooting at the men, only to be opposed by blue ones.
Wolfman: .oO(Come on... need to get out of range, call help...)
Trigger: "She could just power bomb this place to hell."
Digifanatic: "And is it me, or are all the Smashers STILL on Turion?"
Gibby: "Looks like they're winning."
Ivo Robotnik: "It is my plan to destroy you completely! Die!"
Dragoshi: *To Ivo* "Why don't you just do something INTELLIGENT and sod off?"
Ivan Robotnik: "You are outnumbered... you will be the one who is destroyed."
Aribar: "The Smashers are protecting their own lands. They're probably too busy to help."
Dragoshi: .oO(...Now if only I could Earth Bite Ivo through the dex)
Digifanatic: "Right, right, right. I forget,:."
Metal Man (GM): The battle continues. It seems hopeless for both sides, as men and machines die everywhere.
What do you do?
Gibby: "It's like a war! I wish we could help..."
Trigger: "Yeah."
Digifanatic: "You know, guys?"
Aribar sighs. "Guys, we should head up and try to help Ivan. They're evenly matched, but we're the Questers! We can change the tide of this battle!"
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, the two sides continue throwing taunts at one another.
Gibby: "That's true... there won't be so many now."
Dragoshi: "...Yes, we should."
Wolfman tries reaching Metal first, and will ask if calling Samus is advisable.
Ivo Robotnik: "The Eggman Empire is unstoppable!"
Gibby: "Lets head up then."
Digifanatic: "Come to think 'bout it, I believe the Gravity Egg was that circular king the rune spoke of."
Trigger: "Alright."
Ivan Robotnik: "You shall taste the wrath of the APN, nephew!"
Digifanatic: "After all, they are prophets."
Aribar closes his Dex and takes out his sword. He heads over and presses the phazon crystal.
Gibby: "I think -Ivo- is the circular king..."
Ivo Robotnik: "You lack the intelligence to defeat such a genius as me!"
Dragoshi: "That WOULD make se-...Right."
Digifanatic: "Basically."
Dragoshi: "That would also make sense, Gibbs."
Ivan Robotnik: "I am wiser than you. Nothing you do will make you out-think me."
Trigger puts away his dex and takes out Badelaire again.
Gibby unsheaths his sword.
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* *BLAM* Ships and men and machines exploding everywhere as you appear topside.
Wolfman hopes Metal responds... otherwise, he'll have to call Samus without prior permission.
Dragoshi pulls out... A giant stick? A few seconds later to red energy blades pop out of different ends.
Digifanatic: "Prophecies are strange things."
Gibby: "You guys ready?"
Trigger: "Yeah..."
Dragoshi: "Ah, yes. Glad I got this scythe upgraded."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Let's do it."
Dragoshi then nods in response to Gibby.
Metal Man (GM): Wolf: You attempt to call him, but all the bandwidth has been eaten by the arguments and other battle transmissions.
Gibby: "CHARGE!!!"
Trigger: "GRAAAAA!!!"
Aribar: "For Nintendus!" *The elf rushes out into the battle!*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers at the ruins would see fighting everywhere. A bunch of Ivo's men run towards Ivan's.
Gibby runs into the battlefield.
Digifanatic runs with them.
Trigger follows Gibby.
Metal Man (GM): You run directly into the Eggman machines.
They are both ill-prepared and weak compared to you.
What do you do as they turn to fight you?
Dragoshi attempts to pre-emptively swipe one of the machines.
Wolfman will attempt to run/fly North, towards HQ to get help personally.
Metal Man (GM): *Slash* It crumples into two pieces.
Wolfman: .oO(Gotta let Metal know of this...)
Gibby goes to the machine closest to him and slashes it in half with his sword.
Dragoshi then does the same to the other machines "Out of the way damn you!"
Ivan Robotnik: "I have the Questers. Look how they massacre your walking rust-buckets!"
Aribar tries to stay out of the front line. The elf unleashes bolts of lightning and blasts of fire upon the machines.
Digifanatic decides to pull off a Fire Punch on another one of those 'bots. (34 Fire)
Ivo Robotnik: "...They will merely be tricked again, I assure you."
Dragoshi: .oO(Heheh. Rust buckets.)
Metal Man (GM): *Blam* *Blast* You burn them... you see a short distance between you and a landed Robotnik landing craft left sitting around.
Wolfman: .oO(I really hope Metal won't consider me as running away... but we could really use extra assistance here, and I had to give the other Questers a chance to get into a better position)
Metal Man (GM): Ivo Robotnik, of course.
Trigger takes out a couple machines. (53 damage)
Digifanatic: "Nice blades, you two."
Dragoshi dashes towards the craft if he sees it, carving up any of Ivo's men that are in the way.
Gibby leaps on top of a machine and smashes it to pieces. He then leaps to another one and cuts it down vertically.
Dragoshi: "Thanks."
Trigger: "Thanks."
Digifanatic: "Looking sharp--no pun!"
Metal Man (GM): AGI checks to run to the landing craft.
Gibby notices the craft as well and runs over to it with the others.
Wolfman hopes he's close to HQ... he tries calling Metal again.
Digifanatic decides to follow the others if he can...
Metal Man (GM): Your dex is still receiving interference.
50 damage if you roll under a 16, from crossfire.
Trigger follows after the others.
Gibby gets blasted with crossfire.
"OW! OW! OUCH!"
Dragoshi takes 50 damage, drinks an Ivantek Recovery Vial and continues on.
Digifanatic: *Bam!* "Oh, man... I'm alright, I'm alright..."
Metal Man (GM): You reach the landing craft... there's three cruisers here, one larger one which appears to be coordinating the robots.
The thing's been left free to steal... and it can carry you all upwards.
Aribar stays on the ground, unleashing some of his smaller magics now as well. Blades of wind, blasts of earth, and darts of ice tear through the metal exterior of Ivo's machines. Aribar's magical energy isn't limitless, but luckily his simpler spells don't take much of a toll on him.
Trigger: *Pant* "Now... what?"
Digifanatic: "Hey! Free craft!"
Gibby: "Now... we ride!"
Metal Man (GM): It's a flying one, after all.
Trigger: "Sweet."
Dragoshi then smirks. "...We steal their crap."
Digifanatic: "Yup."
Gibby gets himself on the flying craft.
Wolfman really hopes he can get to Metal quickly... the Questers need help...
Digifanatic hops in as well.
Dragoshi does the same as Gibby.
Trigger hops on one of the craft.
Digifanatic: "Hope it's not too cramped in here..."
Gibby: "...Wolf's sure taking a long time."
Trigger: "I know."
Metal Man (GM): It's meant for 15 people, so you can all lay about... but it's a bit open on the sides.
Who pilots it?
Gibby: "Anyone know how to run this thing?"
Dragoshi closes one of the sides if possible.
Digifanatic: "I wish..."
Trigger: "I can't, sorry."
Digifanatic: "I'm not an expert on air machines..."
Metal Man (GM): You find a button which is marked 'raise field' which must do that on one side.
Dragoshi presses the raise field button.
Gibby looks over at Drag and twitches once.
Metal Man (GM): *BZEER* a blue field protects one side.
Dragoshi looks for the OTHER raise field button.
Gibby: "Cool..."
Trigger tapes Gibby to a seat.
Digifanatic: "That works that works that works..."
Wolfman really hopes he's close to that front door... Metal needs to know of this.
Digifanatic: "Trig, where'd ya get the tape?"
Trigger: "...Found it."
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman: Gonna be a while before you get there. I'll say when.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, alright."
Metal Man (GM): A bunch of robots are heading towards your craft. Better take off.
Gibby: "...Thanks, Trig."
Digifanatic: "Dragoshi? Any skill in this thing?"
Trigger: "No problem."
Metal Man (GM): A d20-5 check if you lack knowledge.
Dragoshi presses the other raise field button if he found it.
Metal Man (GM): There's plenty of buttons to push for piloting.
Yup. *BZEER* both fields up.
Digifanatic: "This is good."
Dragoshi: "...Huh. Slightly." (Only level 3)
Metal Man (GM): Just in time, too, because they're opening fire.
Gibby: "Hurry!"
Trigger: "Come on, get this P.O.C. off the ground."
Digifanatic: "It's not crap if it has a forcefield!"
Trigger: "...Just go."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* You swear you heard something crack...
Dragoshi: "...Oh crap."
Digifanatic: "Oh, you've got to be..."
Trigger: *Sigh.*
Dragoshi checks to see what cracked.
Metal Man (GM): Better hurry.
Gibby: "NOW it is."
Metal Man (GM): Can't tell, no time.
Gibby: "Just go go go!"
Dragoshi then gets this thing off the ground.
Trigger: "COME ON DAMN IT!!"
Metal Man (GM): They're about to open fire again, and this time something might explode.
Digifanatic: "FLOOR IT!"
Trigger: "Brace of impact!!"
Metal Man (GM): ...You press all the right buttons and it flies off the ground at insanely high speeds.
Gibby: "WOOOOHOOOOO!"
Metal Man (GM): You're flying up and into the air melee, where a whole bunch of ships are shooting one another.
Digifanatic pounds a fist into an open palm.
"That's like it!"
Metal Man (GM): And... three cruisers can be seen.
Trigger: "Damn, that was too close."
Metal Man (GM): Two small ones, like the Egg Carrier, launching missiles everywhere...
And the large one. A Wing Fortress class.
Trigger: "Looks like I spoke too soon."
Metal Man (GM): It contains the machinery to control all the robots.
Or you can fly away screaming back to HQ.
Gibby: "This thing wouldn't happen to have any weapons, does it?"
Metal Man (GM): That'd be another search check.
Digifanatic: "Well, let's check it out..."
Dragoshi checks to see if there are any weapons.
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You find nothing.
Aribar continues his spell slinging on the ground, but takes to healing nearby soldiers when the elf begins to draw too much attention with his spell casting.
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi finds 'Fire Left Laser'
Digifanatic continues on...
Dragoshi: "...Fire left laser?"
*He continues on with the others.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar, still on the ground, aids the forces... as Gibby finds the other button. And only other weapon.
'Fire Right Laser'
Digifanatic: "Gibby, got something?"
Gibby: "Yeah! Another laser."
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, Aribar is marooned on the ground, doing what he can. It gets monotonous, but he's helping a bit more than a normal soldier would.
Dragoshi: "...Let me gue-...Yea. Thought so."
Digifanatic: *Dr. Evil voice* "Ah... I love lasers."
Trigger untapes Gibby.
Gibby is giving it all he has to -not- press it.
Digifanatic: *Dr. Evil pinky!*
Metal Man (GM): A big ol' Robotnik troop ship flies near you... you could shoot it down easily.
Dragoshi: "...So, which enemy ship should we fire at first?"
Trigger: "Show some ****in' restraint."
Metal Man (GM): Nobody seems to notice you, especially not other Ivo troop ships.
Dragoshi decides to do so!
Gibby: "...You hanging around Julian more often, Trigger?"
Digifanatic goes for the one opposite Dragoshi.
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM.*
Dragoshi: "..."
Metal Man (GM): It explodes... but that attracts two Ivo fighters... as Digi misses.
Digifanatic: "Too early!"
Trigger: "Nice one."
Digifanatic: "Sorry..."
Metal Man (GM): You've got two on your tail, and no weapons back there.
Gibby: "Not nice enough!"
Metal Man (GM): What do you do?
Digifanatic: "Bit, uh... weapon happy."
Dragoshi: "I'm just getting lucky... And unlucky. ...Gibbs a little help here?"
Gibby: "You know how I am with this new technology!"
Trigger: "..."
Digifanatic: "Oh, who cares if he can mash buttons and destroy everything in sight?"
Gibby: "That I -can- do!"
Trigger: "I can take out one of those behind us with a rocket strike."
Gibby: "That'd be nice!"
Digifanatic: "Okay good... I have a couple of longer range moves I may be able to pull off."
Trigger: "Doubt I could survive the fall though."
Digifanatic: "Who here has the longest range?"
Gibby: "I have -no- range, so I'm out."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM.*
Digifanatic: "Okay. Ah!"
Dragoshi: "Same."
Trigger: "Gah!!"
Metal Man (GM): Damage to the rear fin from laser fire.
Gibby start shaking from the hit.
Metal Man (GM): Also, do you have a destination in mind?
Digifanatic: "Right. Trigger and I take the rear. You two, lasers at all possible costs."
Dragoshi then decides to fire a laser at one of the attacking ships in retaliation!
Gibby: "Right!"
Metal Man (GM): You attack a fighter ahead of you; but you can't shoot the ones behind you.
The one in front falls on out of the sky... but... again.
Digifanatic: "Oh, man..."
Metal Man (GM): Where are you flying the ship?
Gibby: "We should probably GO somewhere."
Digifanatic: "Either we have to turn to back to get the two behind us..."
Trigger: "Yeah."
Dragoshi does it again! If possible. "Yea we should."
Gibby: "Lets go get Ari first of all."
Trigger takes fire at the ships.
Metal Man (GM): You instead shoot a laser shot far into the distance.
More inaccurate laser fire. Some more ships are following you.
Trigger: "...Whoops."
Digifanatic: "And risk outside explosion upon departure?"
Dragoshi lathers, rinses and repeats!
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* You're not gonna last long at this rate.
Trigger takes fire again.
Metal Man (GM): You can, however, fly and try to land aboard one of the nearby ships.
Gibby: "...I doubt it'll be THAT much different to here."
Digifanatic: "Alright, just get Ari. We're attracting--yeah that works!"
Metal Man (GM): The lasers only protect the front of the ship... you're gonna have to do more to hit the three of them firing at you.
Dragoshi then decides to do so... And the target is... THE FLAGSHIP! If possible.
Metal Man (GM): You fly upwards... piloting check.
Digifanatic: "Like I said, the more we miss... the more attention we attract."
Trigger: "That's good?"
Digifanatic: "Heck no."
Gibby: "..."
*He just sighs at that.*
Metal Man (GM): Piloting check for Dragoshi.
*gets a snack while Dragoshi idles.*
Dragoshi: *LUCK.*
Metal Man (GM): You fly it up... up... up... and then take two lasers to the midsection, as the entire thing loses power and starts falling... but! You're within leaping distance of the main deck of the Capital ship!
Digifanatic: "Bail out! Let's get outta here!"
Dragoshi jumps out and FLIES towards the ship after grabbing Digi.
Trigger: "Ok."
Digifanatic: "Thanks!"
Dragoshi: "No prob."
Gibby sighs.
Trigger: "...I need some help."
Digifanatic: *Shouting* "Gibby! Float him over if you can!"
Gibby inflates himself and holds out a fin to Trigger.
Trigger grabs onto Gibby's fin.
Metal Man (GM): Have to jump initially.
If you fly it's a different thing, but it's within jumping distance. So at first, yes, you jump.
Gibby starts off by jumping off first.
Metal Man (GM): d20+Stuff in the whole jump skill
Gibby hops about 1 foot and begins falling as the other three leap aboard.
Now he must fly.
Gibby is quick to inflate himself so that he can manage to get on the deck with the others.
Metal Man (GM): You're now atop the Flying Fortress, as a battle rages below.
It seems mostly smooth out here, with no real way inside.
Digifanatic: "Now what?"
Trigger: "Hmm..."
Digifanatic walks around for any trapdoors, etc.
Metal Man (GM): Search, yes.
Digifanatic: "Has to be some way in..."
Metal Man (GM): You discover that it's been improved: No obvious trap doors... just armor all around.
It certainly is windy up here.
Digifanatic: "Got to imagine you can get a better look up... Ah dang it."
Trigger: "Hmm..."
Digifanatic: "These guys are good. They have no secret passages whatsoever."
Gibby being light as he is, gets pushed back from time to time due to the wind.
"Drat..."
Dragoshi checks to see if there's any not-so-obvious hidden trapdoors and stuff like that.
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi: Not-so-obvious ones? Nope.
But there is some tricky ladders and stuff on either side.
Digifanatic: "This thing is armored... man..."
Metal Man (GM): Or you can go nuts and leap towards the bridge on the front.
Dragoshi: "...Oh! I see ladders. And the bridge."
Digifanatic: "Alright. Here we go."
Trigger: "Ok, let's rock."
Digifanatic walks over to Dragoshi's spot...'
"Best to just climb down, I guess."
Trigger follows Digi.
Metal Man (GM): It's a blind leap to it, and if you fail the ship will run into you.
Digifanatic: "Gibby, come on."
Dragoshi follows the others.
Gibby: "I'm coming, I'm coming..."
*He grumbles as he battles the wind in order to get to the others.*
Metal Man (GM): Climb down?
It's smooth and slick.
Digifanatic checks out a ladder, hoping it's somewhat sturdy...
Trigger: "Is it ok?"
Metal Man (GM): On the sides, you see perfectly usable ladders.
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Gibby: "Excellent."
Digifanatic decides to go for it.
"Headin' down."
Metal Man (GM): Which side?
Left, or right?
Trigger follows Digi down the ladder.
Dragoshi does the same as the others.
Metal Man (GM): Left it is.
Digifanatic: "Okay, who here think Julian would say 'Right'?"
Gibby goes down, down, down the ladder.
Trigger: "I do."
Digifanatic: "Aye."
Metal Man (GM): You climb down, and soon find yourself on a metallic platform sticking off the side. A variety of floating platforms greet you up ahead, and behind you is a 15 foot gap before you see some propellers.
Dragoshi: "...Eye... Err, aye."
Gibby: "Indeed."
Digifanatic: "This is rather exciting..."
Trigger: "Yeah."
Digifanatic checks out to see what sort of gaps they have to clear.
Trigger: "How's it lookin' down there Digi?"
Metal Man (GM): A 15 foot gap fulla wind... you'd have to float on across.
A failed float would send you flying off the ship.
Digifanatic: "Hang on... oh man."
Trigger: "Oh hell."
Digifanatic: "You gotta feel pretty good about yourself on this one."
Dragoshi: "...Bleh. Yea."
Gibby: "I... don't like this wind."
Metal Man (GM): You can try jumping to the platforms ahead instead, but, once again.
A windy, falling death.
Dragoshi: "...Well, sod this. I say we check the other side."
Metal Man (GM): It's blowing towards the ahead behind you, across the gap of 15 feet.
Digifanatic: "Alright."
Trigger: "I don't think I can do this."
Metal Man (GM): So you're jumping directly into it if you go across the platforms.
Trigger: "Go back?"
Dragoshi: "...Yea."
Gibby: "Hmm... maybe I can do it."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Might as well. You sure?"
Metal Man gets a drink.
Trigger starts climbing back up.
Gibby: "If I flap -really- hard..."
Dragoshi: "Just follow us."
*He follows Trigger.*
Gibby: "...Oh fine."
Digifanatic follows Trigger back across to the other end...
Gibby sighs and follows the others to the other side.
Trigger ends up back on the other side.
Digifanatic: *Same here.*
Gibby: "So now what?"
Trigger: "I don't know?"
Metal Man (GM): You're back on top again.
Now what?
Trigger: "Got any ideas, anyone?"
Digifanatic heads to and down the other ladder.
Trigger follows Digi.
Gibby: "Lets go right."
Dragoshi does the same as the others.
Gibby heads back down again.
Metal Man (GM): It's the exact same, only mirrored, on this side.
Digifanatic: *Sigh* "Same old, same old. Guess it doesn't matter now.
Anyone... ready?"
Dragoshi: "..."
*He swears in draconic then nods.*
Gibby: "Might as well."
Trigger: "Ok, I can do this, I AM A MAN!!!"
Gibby: "...No comment."
Digifanatic: "Alright. Well, good luck."
Dragoshi: "...Same."
Editor's Note: Also same. Funny that even back then people were like, "What does that have to do with being a man?"
Metal Man (GM): So... forwards or backwards?
Trigger: "Who is gonna go first?"
Digifanatic: "I might as well. I made the offer."
Gibby: "Fair enough."
Digifanatic goes for it...
Metal Man (GM): Platforms are forwards. Three spin in a vertical circles ahead of you.
Digi leaps towards one, and grabs the edge... he'll need a STR check to get up.
Dragoshi then does the same as Digi...
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi leaps aboard as Digi manages to pull himself up.
Dragoshi: "...Close one."
Trigger jumps for the platform.
Digifanatic: "I'm alright."
Gibby goes ahead and makes his leap!
Digifanatic tries to pull Trigger up...
Trigger: "HELP!"
Metal Man (GM): Gibby leaps past the platforms and to the walkway ahead of them.
Trigger is falling and being blown away.
Gibby: "...WHOOT!"
Trigger: "AAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!"
Gibby sits and waits for the others.
Dragoshi claps for Gibby, then notices Trigger "...Ay carumba."
Digifanatic: "I thought we were going to escape unscathed..." *Sigh* "Oh well..."
Metal Man (GM): STR checks don't allow you to fly.
You may do the following: A. Fly after Trigger (if you can fly)
B. Leap to the next platform, where Gibby is
Digifanatic: "Dragoshi, Gibby's ahead. Try to get Trigger."
Metal Man (GM): C. An Action
Digifanatic: "I'll cover stage one."
Dragoshi flies towards Trigger and tries to get him (...Any checks?)
Trigger: "I DON'T WANNA Dieeeeeeeeeeee!!!!"
Digifanatic: "Gibby, stay there for a minute!"
Gibby looks over and waves to them signaling an a-ok.
Metal Man (GM): None, except a STR check to catch up to the ship.
Digifanatic almost can't look...
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi reaches the middle platform... before the spinning platforms. He'll have to do another jump, heh. To the spinning platforms.
Digifanatic: *One eye turned towards them, the other about 90-120 degrees away.*
Trigger falls to his death. "I'LL HAUNT YOU ALL FOREVER!!" smack.
Dragoshi: "...Definitely not my day..."
Gibby: "...Ouch."
Digifanatic stands there waiting...
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi falls again... with Trigger!
Dragoshi and Trigger fall to their dooms.
Doom (TM)
Digi remains on the spinning platform... what does he do?
Digifanatic decides to go for Gibby's platform.
Gibby stands near the edge if he has to grab Digi.
Digifanatic: "Oh maaaaaaaaaan..."
Metal Man (GM): Digi trips as well... does he do a second jump, though?
Digi zooms onto the place with Gibby... and the path leads to the bridge.
Gibby: "That was close..."
Wolfman: .oO(...okay, is time slowing down around me? I should be at HQ by now... Metal needs to know what's going on!)
Digifanatic: "Yes..."
Metal Man (GM): No, Wolf: You've been walking quite a bit.
Digifanatic: "They better revive on this end!"
Metal Man (GM): Running, walking, whatever.
It's quite a distance.
Gibby: "I hope so. I mean we're good, but we can't take them all on by ourselves!"
*He slowly makes his way to the bridge.*
Digifanatic follows.
Metal Man (GM): Also, Aribar has continued to powerlevel down below, and Dragoshi and Trigger find themselves at the bottom of the Wing Fortress, hanging precariously off of a support strut.
But the current focus is on Team A, then I get to the others.
Trigger: "...Is this heaven?"
Dragoshi: "...Nope. Don't look like it."
Metal Man (GM): Digi and Gibby walk into the bridge... the door shuts behind them, and they hear a laugh.
Trigger: "This was scary as hell man."
Gibby: "GAH!"
Digifanatic: "One thing to hate: sinister laughing."
Ivo Robotnik: "Welcome to your doom, Questers! ...Digi and Gibby, right."
Gibby: "Yeah, we kinda... lost a few heads along the way."
Ivo Robotnik: "My defenses have stopped most of you from interfering... And now I shall kill you for your success!"
Metal Man (GM): He's behind a convenient force field.
Gibby: "Bring it on, Robuttnik!"
*He unsheaths his sword once more.*
Metal Man (GM): He presses a button, and a gun pops out of the ceiling. Two of them.
He controls them with joysticks.
Ivo Robotnik: "I will destroy you with my all powerful video-gaming skills!"
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh, lovely)
Metal Man (GM): DIGI & GIBBY VS. LASER IVO.
Order: Gibby, Digi, Ivo
Two turrets can be targeted.
Gibby takes note of the gun on his left side, and goes into attack position. He leaps up towards the gun and slashes at it twice horizontally.
Metal Man (GM): *FLASH!* *FLASH!* It flashes twice.
Digifanatic figures to attack the same turret Gibby launched his offensive at. A Celestial Fury and a Light Ray should work.
Gibby leaps back to the gro--err... to Digi.
Digifanatic: .oO(I get it. I suck!)
Metal Man (GM): *FLASH* *MISS.*
Ivo Robotnik: "Ho-ho-ho!"
Gibby: "What are you, Santa Claus now?"
Ivo Robotnik: "Burn, fools!"
Metal Man (GM): He aims and fires with the joysticks, firing a continuous stream of laser energy at both Digi and Gibby.
AGI Checks to run away from them.
Gibby runs away from his as Digi takes 50 damage.
Digifanatic: *Ooh, crispy! But he's had worse.*
Gibby dodges, ducks, dips, dives, and... dodges away from the lasers.
He goes back to work on the left laser and slashes it two more times horizontally. (couldn't resist)
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit.
It flashes twice.
Digifanatic keeps going with the left hand one... Fire Punch and then another Light Ray. Nothing too technical.
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. It flashes twice.
Digifanatic: *EOT.*
Gibby: "These things sure do take a lot of damage."
Ivo Robotnik: "Burn!"
Metal Man (GM): He continues attacking... roll two AGI checks.
Dodge!
Digi avoids the attack.
20 damage to Gibby. All of it laser.
Gibby gets lazored.
He continues the rapid attacks to the left laser.
Digifanatic: "Nice slice."
Metal Man (GM): It explodes completely.
Ivo Robotnik: "How dare you!"
Gibby lands and gives the "Victory" pose.
Digifanatic offers up a different plan on this turn. He goes Light Ray-Aerial Strike-Light ray, saving 1 TP.
Gibby: "That's one down, and one to go!"
Metal Man (GM): The other turret also explodes....
Ivo Robotnik: "Hmph. You cannot stop me!"
Gibby: "Yeah right... what else you got for us?"
Ivo Robotnik: "Hmmm... this presents a problem..."
Metal Man (GM): He stands there, thinking and pressing buttons.
*MEANWHILE*
Wolfman reaches HQ after miles of running.
Wolfman: "Gotta let Metal know... help is needed..."
*He RUNS to the Big Room, where Metal is hopefully situated.*
"Metal! There is trouble at the ruins site, and we could use your help! Maybe Samus as well if we can get in contact with her...*Pant pant* ...is that possible?"
*He might be a reploid, but the joints do hurt a bit.
Metal Man: "I know... but what happened?"
Wolfman: "We were translating glyphs when Ivo somehow came back."
Metal Man: "All communications are sketchy. There's a lot of forces in that place, but there's not much I can do with valid intel."
Wolfman: "He rose from Hyrule Lake in what he called a Gravity Egg. He sent a bunch of Eggrobos after us: With Dragoshi's help, I got them to chase me so the rest of the Questers could get in a better position to do something.
I tried to call for help in the meantime, hopefully your or Samus, but the comms were jammed."
Metal Man: "Hmmm... I'll do what I can."
Wolfman: "As I was making my way here, I barely heard something about Ivo and Ivan, but couldn't stop... you had to be notified."
Metal Man: "All the comms are jammed, but I have a Neo-Earthian radio. I can communicate with the outpost.
Had you avoided activating it, I would be unable to do anything."
Wolfman: "That's a good idea...*Pant pant* Any other orders for me...? *Pant*."
Metal Man puts a hand to his head. "Metal Man to Outpost. Attack Target 35-23 O8 with extreme prejudice. None... you've done your mission just getting here.
Now I can help."
Wolfman: "Understood."
*He salutes Metal with his right front paw... then lays on the Big Room floor.*
Metal Man (GM): Nearby screens show a bunch of highly advanced space ships, about 20 of them, flying from the outpost and moving so fast they blur altogether into the sky.
+1000 EXP to Wolfman.
Meanwhile...
Aribar is on the ground, fighting. It seems like a worthless battle, until weird blue ships appear and begin firing upon Eggman's forces with insanely powerful... guided bolts of lightning?
Aribar's dex buzzes with communications.
The president of Neo-Earth is there, even.
President: "We will not allow the APN to fall to terrorists. Destroy all of the Eggman Empire ships and personnel."
Aribar has resorted to his sword by now, his magical reserves gone. The elf looks up at the ships and wonders what they are for a moment before seeing them fire on the enemy. He Chaos Controls backwards and out of the chaos of the melee to answer his dex.
Ivo Robotnik: "...What? You! You can't stop me!" *BLAAMMMMM* "Ahhhhhhh!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): You see lightning literally tear the two cruisers apart and wound the huge flagship, which opens fire, damaging a few of the Neo-Earthian ships but then getting hit by several Ivan ships.
The troops on the ground remain a concern, though... there's just too many!
Meanwhile...
Dragoshi and Trigger are on the underside of the ship. They see everything else being blown apart, the ship they're on likely to be next.
However, they also see a hatch nearby.
Dragoshi opens the hatch.
Trigger: "What's the plan Drago?"
Dragoshi: "I already got it covered, Trig."
Trigger: "Ok, I'll just follow you then."
Metal Man (GM): You open it... and appear to be in a massive room.
A generator room.
Dragoshi: "...Jackpot."
Metal Man (GM): The room is empty, as the ship apparently is being abandoned.
A sole computer, which was left logged in, controls all of the robots you've seen.
Trigger: "Ok, do we tear this place apart?"
Dragoshi: "...No. We use it to our advantage!"
*He walks over to the sole computer.*
Trigger: "Oh... ok."
*He follows Dragoshi to the computer.*
Metal Man (GM): You see it... computer use check, if you want to use it to do something.
Trigger: *I have the computers ability.*
Metal Man (GM): Using it to your advantage, you make every single robot in the battlefield defect to your side.
The battle is stopped... and you even stop the jamming!
Trigger: "Heh, damn I'm good."
Metal Man (GM): And... a portal back home appears as the self-destruct is activated.
Trigger: "Come on, let's go!"
Dragoshi leaves orders to follow any orders the Questers give, especially those of himself and Metal then heads to the portal.
Trigger runs into the portal.
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile....
Digi and Gibby are aboard the bridge as everything falls apart in front of Eggman.
Gibby: "Uh oh... looks like this thing's gonna go down!"
Metal Man (GM): He stands there, dumbfounded... but not discouraged.
Digifanatic: "Oh, man, you're right"!
Ivo Robotnik: "Not so fast! This was... all merely a distraction. Mwoohoohoohooo!"
Gibby: "...What are you talking about? A distraction for what?"
Metal Man (GM): He presses a button... revealing the Gravity Egg flying into range of Gunicard and bombarding it with meteorites.
Gibby: "GAH!"
Ivo Robotnik: "You've merely taken over a pile of dilapidated junkbots, destroyed two outdated ships, and eliminated a worthlessly outdated flagship. Ivo Robotnik wins again! Hahahaaaaaa!"
Metal Man (GM): He runs out as the entire place begins to explode.
Gibby: "Damn it..."
Metal Man (GM): A warp home appears... for no reason, seemingly.
Gibby: "Tricked again."
Digifanatic: "And where is every--HOLY CRAP! How are we so lucky?!"
Gibby: "Come on, Digi. We gotta go warn Metal."
Digifanatic quickly runs on in!
Gibby sheaths his sword and makes his way into the warp.
Aribar watches as the battle comes to an end... The robots stopped fighting and the ships are destroyed. He would take out his dex and press the button to warp back to the Stadium. (Would that do?)
Metal Man (GM): MISSION ACCOMPLISHED
Eggman Distraction Armada Obliterated
+20,000 coins
+5000 EXP to Aribar
+3000 EXP to Gibby and Digi
+2000 EXP to Trigger and Dragoshi.
Digifanatic: *WOOT! Level 60!*
Metal Man (GM): And that's it for the mission.
Aribar heads to Metal's office once he's back at base.
Dragoshi does the same as Ari, but waits for him to enter first, then waits outside.
Aribar: "Ahhh... What are you talking to him about, Dragoshi? I have a feeling mine will take a while..."
Dragoshi: "Yea. Well, I was gonna do the usual report... And some other stuff, but you first."
Aribar: "Eh... Okay."
*He enters Metal's office.
* "Metal? You in here?"
Metal Man: "Yes."
*He sits at his desk... twiddling with plans.*
Aribar: "Ah... I have another favor to ask of you. I would like to go to Turion and, ah, 'convert' Aetos to our side."
Metal Man: "...Are you sure?"
Aribar: "Metal, we have Ivo, the Fury, a Sephiroth character, and other enemies to deal with. Having Aetos on our side would be... A great help."
Metal Man: "What if he sides with them? He sided with the evil Void... generally the most successful foe besides Kuja... at his time of possible success."
Aribar: "Let me say something..."
Metal Man: "Of course."
Aribar: "Metal, if I recall correctly you gave him the choice of dying, or being exiled into Turion. If someone who was..." *The elf pauses, trying to think of the right words...*
Metal Man: "Trying to make me think of what I'd do in the same situation?"
Aribar: "Ahh... Not exactly. Oh! If someone who offered Aetos choices a bit more... Well, without the death threats being obvious, as well as explaining the benefits of being with the Questers, I think he'd be a bit more prone to staying with us."
Metal Man: "It's your decision, not mine. But we'll be missing you for when you are gone... well... Ivo Robotnik himself appears unwilling to yield. He has a space ship that is powerful enough to fight Gunicard head on."
Aribar: "Ah... I d-don't think I'd be much use fighting Ivo. There is one complication to getting Aetos back, however. Are there still facilities on the Ivo-controlled Turion that can teleport us back to Nintendus?"
Metal Man: "...Ivo-controlled? Huh? It's a neutral planet, last time I checked."
Aribar: "I believe at one time during a battle with Ivo that he took over Turion with the Time Stones."
Metal Man: "...You must have the wrong planet--he once took over a planet named 'Little Planet', but no evidence of him controlling Turion. They could be confused, though. If he did, he might have put up a better fight today."
Aribar: "Ah... I see. So chances are our technology is still on Turion?"
Metal Man: "Not much, but he could have easily taken a variety of natural and alien technologies from there to bolster himself."
Aribar: "So there's a so-so chance that warping technology is on Turion..."
Metal Man: "You can take a beacon with you."
Aribar: "Beacon?"
Metal Man: "However if Aetos does use it without my okay you will be left there for it. Allows me to send a warp there to get you.
Will work only once, though... it's a lot of energy and the thing breaks from it."
Aribar: "Ah... Well, I suppose I shall get some supplies and food now. I might as well start out as soon as possible. Atlantis's portal would take me to Turion in theory, right?"
Metal Man: "No, it'd take you to Whaller. I can use our warp.
Aetos just was never told about it--security reasons, you know."
Aribar: "Ah. Okay... Makes things easier. And the beacon? I take it Oak would have one?"
Metal Man: "Yes."
Aribar: "Well... See you soon, Metal."
*He exits the office and heads to Oak's lab to get the beacon.
He gets some food stuffs from the cafeteria afterwards... He doesn't know if he'll be able to get any food in Turion. The elf would finally head to the Warp room and head to Turion.*
Metal Man leans in his chair. "Hmph. Aetos doesn't seem like the type to change for me..."
Editor's Note: And he was correct about that!
Dragoshi enters Metal's office as Ari leaves.
Metal Man seems startled, though he sits up. "Huh?"
Dragoshi: "Ah, yes, Metal. Just the man I needed to see. I come with news involving the translations of the Glyphs if you haven't heard them yet. Oh, and some other info"
Metal Man: "Feel free to tell me... hearing about Aetos is annoying, I need some good news."
Dragoshi: "Ah, yes. Well, lessee I'll say the glyph translations in order... We stored the great poison in this barren planet in order to something, The great prophets of old entered their knowledge into the hallowed walls above, Beware the wrath of the circular king who wields the largest, All will be... Well, that part was a little bit difficult, 'cause there were two possibilities. Either finished or fine, and the word after that couldn't be translated, and We are voyagers looking for truth"
Metal Man: "So I see. That clears up many problems... hmmmm..."
Dragoshi: "The other bit of news was that Trigger fell off a flagship of Ivo's and I caught him, but couldn't get back to the ship on time, so we landed on a lower part of said flagship. Luckily, Trig and I were near a hatch which lead to the main generator. We saw a computer which controlled ALL Eggrobos Ivo bought with him. Trig and I hacked into it with relative ease, subverting them to our side"
Metal Man: "Ahhh... Ivan shall be in charge of that."
Dragoshi: "Good, good. Though, this just leads to many more questions... What kind of truth would the Chozo be searching for if they came here, why an unknown figure has arisen, who these other Phantom lords are, and where the remaining Fury pieces are... So many problems, yet so little time..."
Metal Man replaces that with 'Unknown figure.
"That's our job... to find out what it's all about."
*He leans back again... he has a strange glint in his eye.*
Dragoshi: "...?"
Metal Man: "Just like old times... thank goodness. Kuja was really cramping my style. You see, the true way of the Questers is what is now; there's this sort of mystery about and nobody really controls the entire world.
Fighting Kuja was hell. Heck, when we used stuff from back then, it completely overkilled those IIF people."
Dragoshi leans against the wall, curious"...Really, now? Do go on..."
Metal Man: "Well, we were being attacked from all sides. And then when things got bad, he kept on pulling out new Commanders on us.
They fought with increasingly desperate tactics. Denon tore up his own bridge to severely harm people."
Dragoshi: "Yeesh. He sounds like a damn hydra."
Metal Man: "One of his commanders alone would probably defeat Ivo. Then there was what's his face... Maxamillian... with a mecha greater in size and power than the Master Egg."
Dragoshi: "...Master Egg? Maxamillian?"
Metal Man: "It blocked out the sun and took on the Dauntless without a sweat. Only a misguided shot from an even bigger weapon of Kuja's destroyed it."
Dragoshi: "Yeesh. How many times did you have to shoot him down?"
Metal Man: "Good thing it was, because, once again, with that alone he could have used the Gravity Egg like a basketball and crushed Eisnaught underfoot. Maxamillian himself? He seemed to never die.
He attacked us at least four times, packing horrible weapons of mass destruction each time."
Dragoshi: "...Ugh. ...Well, what about the other commanders?"
Metal Man: "Let's see... Gerald was the deadliest, and last. But he was so powerful he decided to try to take over himself."
Dragoshi: "...Gerald? Oh, you don't mean..."
Metal Man: "He activated a virus which destroyed all of Kuja's civilization."
Dragoshi: "...A single virus?"
Metal Man: "Had Xorn and Thorn not attacked, he'd have probably attacked us next... yes. His machines still plague us."
Dragoshi: "...Such as?"
Metal Man: "One of his least powerful creations, Kappa, has been reported attacking travelers. It has enough power to take a Quester on."
Dragoshi: "Kappa?"
Metal Man: "A prototype robot capable of copying attacks. I've also seen brief images of Shadow. He is my equal in combat ability... that's a bad thing."
Dragoshi: "...Copying? You mean like a parrot, minus the annoying voice? ...Shadow? Oh, right, the hedgehog."
Metal Man: "Yes. Shadow has enough chaos control to move half a space station about twenty miles through space."
Dragoshi: "And, apparently he can just flagrantly abuse Chaos Cont-..."
Metal Man: "Being the original being to possess it, it remains a prominent feature. I fear he may be involved in something... he's appeared and vanished repeatedly with no explanation. Possible due to his chaos control."
Dragoshi: "...That does make a lot of sense. I mean, his amount of Chaos power is unheard of by most users of that ability."
Metal Man: "Ruvyn's sole power as a commander appeared to be survival. Skyhigh... well... he failed. He's a sub-commander, technically, even though his attempts to get pay from 'Kuja Central' have been returned by messages of 'Office building was destroyed by The Void. Please try again.'"
Dragoshi: "...Survival? ...Skyhigh?"
Metal Man: "He survived as one of Kuja's fiends after every other Kuja guy died. Skyhigh... he... err... botched trying to kill the Questers."
Dragoshi: "Ah. Well, do go on with the rest... If there are any left to talk about."
Metal Man: "He wound up instead keying us in on some of Kuja's decisions and then later turning on Kuja. There are... I just have to remember... hmmm...
Denon... Maxamillian... Gerald... Skyhigh... Ruvyn... yes... I'm forgetting some.
Grodus.
He also turned to our side, but not before seemingly vanishing forever.
He had the ability to predict the future.
...Which is why he betrayed Kuja, I hope.
He sure would be useful... with Ivo messing with the future, only Grodus could predict him.
Ah... and Meier Link... what a delightful person he was.
Invincible."
Dragoshi: "...Grodus? Yeesh. These commanders sound hellishly powerful. ...And, yea he prolly' would. T-Invincible?"
Metal Man: "That was his power. He survived from the Quester Hunter days. He fought entire armies with his sword and was never defeated in a fair fight."
Dragoshi: "...Then how the HELL did he die? If he did die, that is."
Metal Man: "He had to be killed by a fringe hit. Had it been a real fight he'd have killed half of us before actually going down.
He used to march right in here and take whatever he wanted by force."
Dragoshi: "Fringe? Like what? An entire dimension of explo-Nevermind. That'd just be an inane question to ask"
Metal Man: "The final entry isn't quite a Commander, but he did have something to do with Kuja."
Dragoshi: "...And the entry is?"
Metal Man: "Two villains, working in tandem... whenever Kuja wasn't around, The Void was."
Dragoshi: "...Mhm."
Metal Man: "He came closer to total success than Kuja. He blew up all of reality and sent it into his home world, the X-Zone."
Dragoshi: "...Well, I guess it was a good thing he fai-...ALL of it? Then how-"
Metal Man: "My mistrust of Aetos was confirmed there, as the traitor sided with a chaos-crazed The Void over me. Well... when we defeated him, the chaos emeralds exploded and so did his realm.
It conveniently fixed all the holes in our reality and reset things so that Kuja's wreckage was mostly cleaned up."
Dragoshi: "...Well, did anything ELSE explode aside from an entire realm and seven emeralds?"
Metal Man: "Kuja, most of his commanders... oh, yes. I found out something fascinating from The Void, though it makes no sense. He himself destroyed an entire planet in an alternate dimension."
Dragoshi: "...Do tell."
Metal Man: "As well as... an entire set of people who would have gone as being the good versions of the 13 Gentlemen."
Dragoshi: "...Fuh?"
Metal Man: "It is also rumored he's appeared in many other realms, destroying things like the internet, idiots, and a small army of sentient pachinko machines."
Dragoshi: "...A small army of sentient WHAT?!"
Metal Man: "He appears to be ascended in some way but refuses to live in the Astral Realm, feeling that it is even worse than here for being orderly."
Dragoshi: "I mean, I'd be a little irate about the first, glad about the second, but the third just makes NO sense!"
Metal Man: "And, ironically, he doesn't seem to like Aetos much since he appeared to be loyal to a bunch of chaos emeralds more than his true self. Though he claims if he just had magitek everything would make... oh."
Dragoshi: "...Huh."
Metal Man: "He also exploded Magitek when he was defeated."
Dragoshi: "...Ah. Right. I suppose there isn't any trace of this Magitek left, right?"
Metal Man: "I believe any false Solarians were also cleaned up... and several people who were actually illusions made by him. Yes."
Dragoshi: "False Solarians?"
Metal Man: "...I think Klumsy's holo tomb was sent elsewhere too. False Solarians. They acted like the real thing but were much weaker."
Dragoshi: "Ah. How much weaker?"
Metal Man: "The Void tried to confuse us and make our only helper, a good, real Solarian, look evil by populating the world with fake Solarians he cloned from his imagination. He said his only flaw was that he failed to make an impressive illusion of us being attacked by the real Solarian fleet become possible..."
Dragoshi: "...Solarian fleet?"
Metal Man: "Thus we believed him when he said the Solarians were fake, as opposed to fleeing in terror. Well, the real thing is what helped blow up the original Neo-Earth."
Dragoshi: "Ah. Well, okay then."
Metal Man: "There's oodles more, but it's getting late. We'll need to ice that Eggman too."
Dragoshi: "Yes, that we should. I believe I'll take my leave now. 'Night"
*He leaves Metal's office and heads to his room to rest.*
Editor's Note: What's remarkable here is if you remove most of the Neo-Earth references, most of this plot exposition by Metal actually still is canon. It's just that... well, it's covered in future logs, but Neo-Earth is just a weird thing that only IS a thing in these late SSQ 1 sessions.
