Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 315: The Return of the Black Caped Man

Metal Man (GM): The Questers are in R&R; nothing abnormal as of recent.
Your dexes beep, if they don't already, noting for you to come to the Big Room.
Dragoshi: *Already in the Big Room, leaning against the wall* "Yo."
Gibby would hear his dex beep. He checks it, and apparently it's mission time! He puts the dex away and dashes into the Big Room. "Here I come to save the daaaaay!"
Scott Gibson just followed everyone to this 'big room' not knowing what was going on since he doesn't have a Dex.
Trigger walks into the Big Room.
The Ninja appears in the room as well. "Sorry for lateness! I had to grab Metal more red tape!"
Trigger: "Hello all."
Metal Man spins around in his desk once, then presses a few buttons.
Gibby: "So what's the mission of the day now?"
Metal Man: "Well, today's mission is to be rather important. We are to find Sephiroth."
Gibby: "..."
Metal Man: "And, if at all possible, deal with him."
Trigger: "Why?!"
Gibby: "...HA! HA HA! Good one... that's funny. But seriously, what's the mission?"
Dragoshi: "...Wait. Repeat that. And, by repeat that, I mean say something DIFFERENT..."
The Wraith: *The spirit has, since talking to Metal... disappeared. Apparently something else came up.*
The Ninja: "I think I caught ninja flu."
Metal Man: "This isn't your normal mission."
Trigger: "...Sorry I can't go... I have carbon monoxide poison, man I'm sleeply."
Gibby: .oO(He's serious isn't he?) ;_;
Metal Man: "You're not supposed to be able to defeat him in an outright fight. Rather... catch him at his weakest point, and use sheer intelligence to trip him up when his back is turned."
Scott Gibson just stands there shocked out of his mind.
Gibby: "Sephiroth? With a -weak- point?"
Trigger: "So... we don't have to fight him?"
Metal Man: "When attempting to reunite his three parts, he must stand still for a certain amount of time. He will be doing so... atop mountains."
Dragoshi: "...Huh."
Gibby: "How long is a 'certain amount' exactly?"
Metal Man: "...Name how many people who don't have their full immortal powers can survive being shoved off. 3 minutes."
Scott Gibson: "Whoa! Wait a sec! You've gotta be kidding!"
Gibby: "So... we push him off of the mountain?"
Trigger: "..."
Metal Man: "Yes. That should keep his pieces separate and render him weak."
Gibby: "...We're so dead."
Scott Gibson: "I just got here, I don't really plan on dying anytime soon."
Metal Man: "Of course, if at any time he does form completely, you are to contact me immediately and I'll warp you out."
Dragoshi: "Understood!"
Gibby sighs.
The Ninja: "I will do my best!"
Gibby: "Will... do."
Alexia warps in
"So, what are we doing this time?"
Scott Gibson: "Apparently fighting Sephiroth..."
Dragoshi: "'Pparently, we're pushin' Sephiroth offa a mountain"
Gibby: "NOT fighting!"
The Ninja: "Out witting one-wing angel!"
Gibby: "We are -not- fighting him... that's instant death."
Alexia: "...OK..."
Scott Gibson: "Whatever..."
Gibby: "Well... lets do this."
Scott Gibson starts playing a tune... "It's the end of the world as we know it!"
Metal Man: "Warp elevator is online."
Gibby: "Cut that out! You wanna curse us or something?" O_O;
Dragoshi zooms into the warp elevator.
Scott Gibson: "Truth hurt?"
Alexia flies into the warp elevator.
Gibby: "...Slightly."
The Ninja: "Hmm. Any ideas on how to deal with this, Metal?"
Alexia: "Here goes nothing!" *WARP.*
Gibby makes his way into the warp elevator... very, VERY slowly... but eventually... WARP.
Scott Gibson walks over to this 'warp thing' and hops in.
Metal Man: "General sneakery... you have to find him first."
The Ninja: "I thought you'd never ask!" *He bows and hops into the portal.*
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* *WARP* Hmmm... this area is unusual.
You appear at the base of some ominous... non-familiar mountains.
The ground's mostly of dirt interlaced with rocks, the trail sandy.
Gibby: "Yup... those are mountains alright."
Metal Man (GM): Up above you see some decaying buildings.
A sign right ahead has been clearly slashed in two.
It looks old and dilapidated.
Scott Gibson: "Yep, that's encouraging."
Metal Man (GM): The sun hangs just partially over the mountain, causing creepy shadows to be thrown everywhere.
Alexia walks over to the sign and pushes the pieces together, then reads it.
The Ninja: "...Powerful swordsmanship."
Metal Man (GM): At this point, a few trees grow about.
The sign says 'Welcome to Elbainsville'
Gibby: "That's an understatement..."
Scott Gibson slings his guitar.
The Ninja: "So where to?"
Metal Man (GM): The slice cut it so that one side said nothing but 'Bainsville'
Alexia: "Climb, I guess."
Gibby: "Well Metal said he had to go to the mountaintop, right. So... lets go up!"
Metal Man (GM): The path leads up to the town. It's full of switchbacks, but you can just walk up it.
You can smell sagebrush in the air. It feels somewhat cool here.
A few birds are heard in the distance.
Alexia: "Anybody need a trip up?"
Scott Gibson: "Sure, I'm game."
The Ninja decides to use his senses to make sure the coast is clear.
Metal Man (GM): You just walk up; no flying needed.
Dragoshi follows the others.
Gibby proceeds to walk ahead.
Scott Gibson shrugs and follows up the mountain.
Metal Man (GM): The Ninja senses some people up by the town. Makes sense.
Alexia flies up the path.
Metal Man (GM): You make your way into the town, your feet crunching as you step on the path.
You hear a twig snap nearby; but you also see this town to be creepy.
Five buildings, made of dilapidated wood.
Scott Gibson: "Think anybody's home?"
Metal Man (GM): A door creaks as a cold wind comes from the East.
Gibby: "Maybe some of the people in the town have seen Sephiroth. We could get information from them."
Metal Man (GM): The buildings have broken windows.
Dragoshi: "...Prolly."
Metal Man (GM): A few lone bushes grow in this desolate waste.
The Ninja: "Hmm. Would be wise to look for people."
Metal Man (GM): There's a path further up in the distance; but no need, for now, to go there.
The buildings are as follows:
A ruined 'Town Hall', a place with a sign marked 'Saloon', and a 'Sheriff' building, as well as two houses.
Alexia walks over to the first house and knocks on the door.
Dragoshi: "...So, where to first?"
Gibby: "Lets check out the Town Hall. There's bound to be -somebody- in there."
Scott Gibson: "I'll check out the saloon. Please?"
Gibby proceeds towards the entrance of the Town Hall and tries opening the door.
Dragoshi: "...I'll go with Gibby and check out the Town Hall as well" *Follows the blue Kirby.*
Scott Gibson: "Anybody wanna go with?"
Metal Man (GM): The door creaks, the floorboards sag, and all that can be seen are broken boards and rotted books; sun streams in through cracks in the ceiling.
Gibby: "Uh... Hello? Anyone in here?"
Metal Man (GM): Your voice echoes. Nothing is heard.
The Town hall is empty.
Gibby: "Huh... nothing."
Scott Gibson sighs and goes into the Saloon hoping to find someone.
Gibby slams the door shut and follows Scott to the Saloon.
Dragoshi follows Gibby.
Metal Man (GM): The saloon has one spinning fan and a single light. It looks to have recently been inhabited.
Scott Gibson: "Anybody home?"
Alexia: "Hm. No answer."
Metal Man (GM): The big mirror behind the desk is totally cracked to pieces; a single stab hole in it.
Scott Gibson walks in.
Alexia decides to head to the saloon with the others.
Gibby: "...There -are- people in this town, right?"
Dragoshi: "...Yep. He's been here judging by the mirror."
Metal Man (GM): A man gets up. He seems wounded... he's under a busted table.
???: "Ugh... my head... where is everybody?"
Dragoshi looks at the man.
Scott Gibson rushes over to the man.
Alexia walks into the saloon.
Gibby: "Nevermind then."
Scott Gibson: "Hey, you okay?"
Alexia: "Wow, this--oh man..."
*She runs over to the man.*
Gibby: "Somebody get that table off of him."
???: "No... this... person... in a black cloak... Came in... everyone is gone."
Scott Gibson lifts the table off.
Metal Man (GM): He stands up, brushing himself off; he got a head wound from something.
Alexia uses Mend on the man.
Dragoshi: "...Any other distinguishing features aside from the cloak?"
Metal Man (GM): You hear a far-off floorboard squeak.
???: "He... wanted... blood..."
Scott Gibson: "Blood...?"
Alexia tries to figure out where the squeak came from.
Scott Gibson wishes he'd payed the extra credits to buy those Earth game systems.
Metal Man (GM): Hmm... must have been far away.
Gibby: "Why would Sephiroth want blood?"
???: "Yes... he kept on attacking people... and... then he left."
Scott Gibson: "So is he like a vampire or something?"
Dragoshi: "...Huh. Any idea on what use he'd have for the blood?"
Alexia: "As a spell component, perhaps."
Gibby: "He's no vampire..."
???: "I don't even remember his face..." *He sits back and pours himself a drink.*
Scott Gibson: "Then I'm stumped."
Gibby: "He didn't happen to mention something about going to the mountains, did he?"
Dragoshi: "Huh. Think that there might be anyone else alive aside from you?"
Alexia: "I'm going to search for that squeak. If there's any more survivors, we need to get them to a safe place."
Scott Gibson turns around and heads for the door.
He suddenly stops near the door.
"Hey, mister, you see where he went?"
???: "Out... of here... I'm not sure."
Alexia starts heading in the direction of the squeaking floorboard.
???: "I can take care of myself. You need to find where everyone else went."
Dragoshi: "...Ah." *Exits and checks house number two.*
Scott Gibson: "Attacking people at random is a major offense in the GSPB... let's find this bastard."
Metal Man (GM): Alexia: You're outside: Which building do you go to?
Dragoshi finds house 2's door locked.
Alexia thinks for a second, then heads for the sheriff's building.
Scott Gibson exits and walks the dusty street.
Gibby exits the saloon.
Scott Gibson: "*Sigh* Attacking at random? What kind of beast is this guy?"
Gibby: "He's a soldier..."
*He ends it at that. He follows Alexia to the sheriff's building.*
Scott Gibson: "Heh... that's laughable."
Metal Man (GM): Alexia enters the sheriff's building.
Scott Gibson follows Gibby.
Metal Man (GM): Hm. Somebody's in here.
Gibby enters shortly after.
Alexia: "Hello? Anybody here?"
The Ninja: "Shh! Sneaking means be quiet!"
Scott Gibson walks in after Gibby.
Gibby: "We're not sneaking... we're searching."
The Ninja is currently in the prison area, looking into a safe.
Metal Man (GM): The safe clicks open, revealing... a holy cross.
Alexia takes her pistol out and looks around for the person inside.
Scott Gibson: "Doubt that'll make you look diplomatic, Alexia. I think it'd be best to put that up."
Dragoshi enters the Sheriff's building.
The Ninja takes out the cross and looks at it.
Gibby: "Hello? Mr. Sheriff guy?"
Metal Man (GM): You find no sheriff, only a recently shot revolver.
Alexia: "Sorry." *Holsters the pistol.*
The Ninja: "This building is empty. Checked myself."
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, the cross as a button on it.
Scott Gibson: "It's cool, just a suggestion."
Gibby: "...A struggle."
Alexia picks up the revolver and looks it over.
The Ninja does what any ninja would do and pushes the button.
Scott Gibson: "Hm... looks like the Sheriff beat a hasty retreat or he's dead."
Metal Man (GM): The cross suddenly gains... blades?
It's a boomerang of some kind.
Alexia: "Tell me about it..."
Metal Man (GM): Made of silver.
Scott Gibson looks around to see if there's anything of use in their search.
Alexia puts the revolver back.
Gibby looks over at the Ninja.
"Hey... what's that you got there?"
Dragoshi does the same as Gibby.
The Ninja: "...I must keep this."
Dragoshi: "...Do so."
Metal Man (GM): Scott: Nothing else. Nothing much, at least.
Gibby: "Isn't that stealing? I thought Ninjas didn't steal."
Trigger then appears behind everyone.
Scott Gibson sighs again. "This ain't right. Everything's so fucking screwed up."
The Ninja: "We don't-- we borrow in use in honor of fallen."
Trigger: "...Ugh, what's up?"
Gibby: "Riiiiight...'borrow'...got 'cha."
Alexia turns around to leave and sees Trigger
"AAAH! ...Oh, it's you, Trigger."
Scott Gibson turns. "Anything, Trig?"
Alexia: "Man, you scared me."
Metal Man (GM): You see light out one of the windows.
The Ninja: "Come, my tasty blue marshmallow! We must continue!"
Scott Gibson: "Hm!?"
Gibby: "...I ain't tasty... nor a marshmallow!"
Metal Man (GM): It must be near the peak of the mountain.
Scott Gibson brushes past them and makes his way outside to get a better view.
Alexia: "Yeah, don't call the marshmallow a marshmallow!"
Gibby: "Yeah! Don't---HEY!"
*He glares at Alexia.*
Alexia heads out, chuckling.
Metal Man (GM): It's a beam of light from further up the mountain.
Gibby: "Little no good so-and-so..."
*He exits the building.*
Alexia looks at the beam.
Trigger follows the others.
Scott Gibson: "C'mon, looks like a lead."
Gibby takes a gander at the beam.
"Crap! Has he started already?"
Scott Gibson heads toward the light.
Alexia: "...Well, that's a 'Please Go To Here' sign if I've ever seen one."
*She starts heading up towards the bea.*
Gibby goes towards the light... which is what he'll also do once Sephiroth kills him. ;_;
Scott Gibson: "Don't go directly toward it. let's get behind it and see what's causing it."
Alexia stops
"Good idea, Scott."
Trigger: "Ok."
Gibby: "Fair enough."
Scott Gibson: *Mutters* "Bastard's gonna pay for killing innocents like that."
*Mutters* "If not now, then later."
Dragoshi follows the others, muttering something.
Metal Man (GM): You head on up, and see an ominous sight.
On a cliff edge, three Sephiroths, or, more likely, his full appearance, a black silhouette, and some weird energy thing stand in a triangle.
Alexia: "..."
Trigger: "Weird..."
Gibby: "...That's it."
Metal Man (GM): They appear to be powering up to combine.
Alexia puts a finger to her lips.
Gibby gulps loudly.
Dragoshi: "...Gaw dammet."
Scott Gibson: "*Whispers* Wha..."
Dragoshi whispered that.
Scott Gibson: *Whispers to the others* "This is too easy a setup."
Alexia: *Whispering* "If they hear us, we're shot. I might be able to shove them off with TK, but it might miss, too."
Gibby: "Metal said we have three minutes to push him off."
Trigger: "We better do it now."
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Metal Man (GM): He seems completely absorbed in this; easy to shove off, too.
Scott Gibson: "I have an idea but it's close to a suicide move."
Alexia: *Whispering* "Should I try?"
Trigger: "Yeah..."
Alexia: *Nod.*
Gibby: "I say we all charge in at once and push him from behind."
Trigger: "We don't have much time."
Scott Gibson: "Wait a sec..."
Alexia tries to shove the three Sepiroths off using TK.
Trigger: "No, TK would be safer."
Gibby: "Is it strong enough though?"
Metal Man (GM): They all fly right off the cliff.
Hmmm... that was easy.
Gibby: "...Nevermind."
Trigger: "Nice goin' Lex."
Alexia: "I don."
Gibby: "Uhh... mission accomplished?"
Dragoshi: *To self*"...WAAAAAAY too damn easy..."
Scott Gibson: "Dammit!"
Metal Man (GM): Yup... he makes no attempt to leap back.
Falling... falling... falling... *Poom.*
Trigger: *Sigh* *It's... over?*
Dragoshi: "...Yeesh."
Metal Man (GM): *BAM* A fist hits Alexia from behind!
Gibby: "Huh... that was -a lot----"
Trigger: "WHAT THE!!"
Alexia: "AAAGH!"
Gibby: "GAH!"
Scott Gibson spins around..."Alexia!"
Metal Man (GM): 35 damage... as Alexia is now nearly flying off the cliff too, merely hanging onto the edge.
Alexia crumples to her knees. Damage?
Dragoshi: .oO(...Yeah, KNEW it was too damn easy!)
???: "Begone!"
Metal Man (GM): He fires three fireballs at Dragoshi.
Alexia catches the edge of the cliff by her fingers.
Trigger reaches his hand out. "HOLD ON!!"
Scott Gibson runs to pull Alexia up.
Dragoshi: *Pegged by two, but his aura annihilates the third.*
Metal Man (GM): 50 fire damage, laser, from those.
Trigger grabs Alexia.
Scott Gibson: "Trig, you take one hand I'll grab the other!"
Trigger: "Ok."
Gibby turns to see who's attacking them.
Metal Man (GM): Before you can see who it is, though, they suddenly teleport right next to Gibson.
Scott Gibson helps haul her up.
Metal Man (GM): And then attempt to kick Gibson.
Scott Gibson: "GAH!!!"
Gibby: "HEY! Where did the--AHH!"
Alexia: "Scott, watch out!"
Trigger: "Scott look out!!"
Metal Man (GM): *SMACK* 10 damage, he's hurled to the side.
The figure leans over; he wears a dark cape.
Dragoshi: *Snarl* "Cheap shot..." *Drinks a Recov vial.*
Metal Man (GM): Only Alexia sees who he is...
Scott Gibson: "Shi----t!!!!"
Trigger tries to hang on to Alexia.
Gibby starts freaking out.
Metal Man (GM): He laughs and then tries to grab Trigger.
Gibby: "Oh man, oh man... this is bad. Really bad!"
Alexia kicks off the cliff and flies up.
Trigger: "Don't worry, I won't let go!!"
Alexia: "...It couldn't be..."
Trigger: "Ok."
Metal Man (GM): He grabs some air, then teleports again, to behind Gibby, whom he attempts to kick furiously.
Scott Gibson catches his balance and attacks the figure head on!
Dragoshi: "..."
Alexia flies back onto the cliff.
Metal Man (GM): 10 damage if that hit, but even if it deals no damage, Gibby is knocked backwards.
Trigger gets in a defensive stance.
Gibby: "GAH!"
Alexia: "Guys, I KNOW who that is!"
Gibby gets kicked and is knocked down.
Trigger: "Shit, not again."
Gibby: "W-who IS it?"
Metal Man (GM): The figure brings up his cape; he takes some damage to it, and it is ripped off.
Alexia: "COUNT DRACULA."
Metal Man (GM): You see Count Dracula, who now stands facing all of you, sneering.
Gibby: "...DRACULA?"
Alexia ducks into her battle stance.
Dracula: "You are... but weak strangers in a land of evil."
Scott Gibson: "What the hell!?"
Dragoshi: "...Oh, you have GOT to be feckin' kidding me!"
Trigger: "...No fuckin' way..."
Gibby gets himself back up.
"What are -you- doing here?"
Dragoshi: "Also, I should return the favor for that damn fireball!"
Dracula: "Does a Count need to explain himself to such ridiculous fools?"
Alexia: "I don't think he's joking. Ninja, use that boomerang you grabbed!"
Scott Gibson: "Eat guitar, fang face!"
Dracula: "You shall not use your pathetic mortal implements to defeat ME!"
Trigger takes out his guitar, "I hope you're ready for a Symphony of Destruction."
Metal Man (GM): He's hit by the guitar attack... but it doesn't seem to work.
Dragoshi launches a fully charged Indignation.
Scott Gibson: "Like hell!"
Metal Man (GM): Then he curses and your armor suddenly vanishes en masse.
Scott Gibson: "Trig, DOUBLE TIME!"
Alexia: "...WHERE DID MY ARMOR GO?!"
Trigger smashes gis guitar into Drac's face.
Dracula: "Now... fight me like true doomed fools!"
Alexia is glad she wears a T-shirt under that...
Gibby: "GAH!"
Metal Man (GM): BATTLE
Questers vs. DRACUL
Gis?
You wonder why he hasn't died from being in the sun yet.
Then you can tell that the sun set just before he attacked...
Trigger exchanges his Guitar for his sword.
"Prepare to eat blade!"
Alexia: "NINJA, THE BOOMERANG!"
Scott Gibson: "Do it!"
The Ninja is not there.
Dragoshi: "..."
Trigger: "Does anyone have a cross?"
Gibby: "That figures..."
Dragoshi: "Ninja did, but he ain't here"
Gibby: "Oh yeah, and I also have a huge supply of Garlic under my hat!"
Trigger: "Shit."
Scott Gibson: "Sorry, left my crucifix in my other pants."
Gibby rolls his eyes.
Trigger: "Hmmm..."
Scott Gibson breathes deep trying to calm himself.
He is seriously pissed off beyond belief at this moment.
Metal Man (GM): Order: Dracula, Dragoshi, Gibby, Trigger, Alexia, Scott
Dracula: "I have learned from the masters of smash, how to defeat you all without a bit of flash. You shall taste nothing but death!"
Metal Man (GM): He lunges at Gibby with his right arm.
Dracula: "Vlaaaah!"
Alexia: "Masters of smash... oh, no."
Dragoshi: "...I do not need to taste giant scythe. Seriously." *Ker-smartass remark.*
Trigger: "Mario..."
Alexia: "NO, NO, NO, NO..."
Gibby is assuming that without his armor, his AC gets lowered, and thus he gets hit hard!
"GAH! Full of pain!"
Metal Man (GM): He uselessly flails his arm.
So he follows up by chucking a big fireball at Gibby.
Gibby: "...Is that I -would- say if that hit!"
Alexia: "The Red Fireball..."
Dragoshi: "...Yep."
Gibby is fireballed.
"...Burning..."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* It burns for 50 fire damage.
Dracula appears to have an odd fighting stance.
Gibby: "...Why is it that I get burned at least once in every mission?"
Metal Man (GM): He stands with knees bent, hopping back and forth, hands outwards with his claws ready.
Alexia: "Can't figure out what that stance is, though."
Scott Gibson: "Trouble if you ask me."
Dragoshi stands, back preparing... EoT.
Gibby: "Alright, Drac, you're going down!"
*He charges towards Dracula and attempts to slash at him twice horizontally.*
Metal Man (GM): You hit him once and then he just barely ducks under the second.
Gibby leaps back to the others and ends his turn.
Metal Man (GM): Your sword deals no damage to Dracula, who laughs as his wounds heal.
Trigger: "Taste my blade, Lord of Darkness!!" *Proceeds to slash him up.*
Gibby: "GAH! No damage? That's... weird."
Dragoshi: "...Hmm..."
Trigger tries to slash him up again.
Metal Man (GM): He's hit not once, not twice, but three times... no damage.
Dracula: "You were saying?"
Trigger: "Wait... I think I know is weak spot."
Gibby: "Hmm... apparently normal attacks aren't going to do it with this guy."
Dragoshi: "...Apparently, we prolly' need somethin' a little more... Holy to kill him with... Dammit, I should've asked for the cross."
Trigger: *Mutters to himself* "Where are you... Alucard?"
Dracula: "You are merely simpletons... not even the original Questers know my powers anymore. I will fight until you are all deeead!"
Alexia tries firing a Heat Beam at Dracula.
Dragoshi: .oO(Yea, right, whatever.)
Gibby: "Ugh... how unoriginal."
Trigger: "You might wanna try to strike him in the head, just a thought."
Metal Man (GM): He's hit by fire... he brushes it off of his cloak and laughs evilly.
Dracula: "Did you expect that to finish me?"
Alexia: "Darn. I thought vampires were weak to fire."
Gibby: "...Ooook... we're having a little bit of difficulty."
Dragoshi: "...Did we even expect it to START?"
Dracula: "You may think that... but I have learned new tricks."
Scott Gibson pulls his guitar up into a playing stance and starts into a fast and heavy tune (AC/DC's "Thunderstruck") "Chew on this, asshole! You've been... THUNDERSTRUCK!"
Dragoshi: "..."
Metal Man (GM): He's hit by the guitar playing/thunder. After a few moments of blitzing with electricity, he seems to stay electrified.
Dragoshi: "...Ker-zuh?"
Gibby: "WHAT? You've gotta be kidding me..."
Dracula: "Hmmm... not bad... not good. I've seen this sort from the Questers all the time... a pity they forget their roots. Allow me to show the playing of a master."
Scott Gibson: "Fuck off asshole!"
Metal Man (GM): Dracula laughs and then goes to his foremost target... Gibby.
He lunges at him again.
Gibby: "GAH! Not again!"

Metal Man (GM): This time, though, Gibby takes 10 electric damage... and is then bitten. Dracula sucks out 1/3 of his max HP and... becomes stronger?
Trigger: "Shiitake mushrooms."
Scott Gibson: "Dammit!"
Dracula: "Yes... my true power is returning... with but two more I will have true power."
Gibby feels... weak.
Alexia: "Oh, great. Kirby vampire..."
Metal Man (GM): He hurls Gibby to the ground, dealing 10 more damage and then taunts you, hissing and baring his claws.
He seems more muscular... and less pale.
Gibby gets tossed. OOF!
Trigger: "Dammit, where are you Alucard?"
Dracula: "I see the abilities of your predecessors works best against you... and defenses made to stop what makes you strong... work better!"
Dragoshi: "...Right" *Unleashes a fully charged Earth Bite at Dracula... At his head if possible.*
Metal Man (GM): You hit him head-on with its speed.
He rubs the earth damage off of his chin, then suddenly falls over.
Dragoshi conserves his remaining two TP, EoT.
Metal Man (GM): Hmmm... he seems dead...
Dragoshi: "...Do NOT tell me he is playing possum!"
Trigger: "...This is getting odd."
Scott Gibson: "Somebody stake him quick!"
Trigger: "WITH WHAT?!"
Alexia: "We don't HAVE a stake!"
Scott Gibson: "Anything made of wood!"
Trigger: "Oh yeah."
Alexia looks around for something, ANYTHING wooden.
Dragoshi: "...If only we had a pirate."
Trigger does the same.
Metal Man (GM): You blatantly ignore all the trees and look instead for a stake laying on the ground, which you don't find. Scott notices all of the rickety fences nearby.
Scott Gibson runs over toward the fence and grabs a stake.
Alexia: "...A stake here? What am I THINKING..."
Metal Man (GM): You have a stake.
Alexia looks again.
Gibby: "He's down. Now's my chance!" *He pulls out an Ivantek grenade, runs towards Dracula, pulls the pin, and flings it straight at his body. (DC 18 if necessary)*
Metal Man (GM): Alexia finds... Gibby's grenade!
Trigger: "Come on, hurry with that stake."
Scott Gibson hurls it to Trigger. "Kill em!"
Metal Man (GM): *BOOM* Alexia is hit by it.
Alexia: "...I need a break. Really ba--AWK!"
Trigger stabs Drac with the stake.
Gibby: *-_-;* "...Uhhh... my bad."
Metal Man (GM): Trigger goes to stab Dracula...
Dragoshi: "...Nice aim, cowboy."
Alexia puts her arms in front of her face. Damage?
Metal Man (GM): *THWAK* A bible is interposed between him and the stake.
Gibby: "She got in the way!"
Metal Man (GM): He goes to grab Trigger instead.
Trigger: "WHAA?!"
Dracula: "Do not trust a vampire laying down!!!!"
Scott Gibson: "Trig!"
Dragoshi: "...Was that a BIBLE?"
Trigger: "Mommy..."
Metal Man (GM): He bites Trigger, sucking 1/3 of his HP out and regaining most of his color.
Trigger: "GHAAA!!"
Metal Man (GM): Then he throws Trigger out of the way for 10 damage. He stands up, regaining his composure.
Dragoshi: "...Yea. KNEW you were playing possum."
Dracula: "I believe you will do nothing but present chances for me to kill yhou all!"
Alexia: "Gotta think of something... Toss me the stake!"
Scott Gibson hurls another stake to Alexia.
Trigger: "Ugh... I don't feel too good."
Alexia catches it. 2 TP used?
Dracula: "Yes... come and try to stake me again... I need the vloohd!"
Alexia instead fires the stake at Dracula's chest using her TK.
Metal Man (GM): He doesn't expect it to fly at him like that, but you only braze his shoulder.
Dracula: "Watch it... you cannot trick me!"
Trigger: "I could hold on to it and rocket strike in into his chest?"
Dragoshi: "...Nah. Alexia had the right idea."
Trigger: "Ok."
Alexia: "Grab another! That one."
Trigger goes to grab another stake.
Scott Gibson tosses Trigger one.
Trigger: "Thanks."
*He tosses the stake to Alexia.*
Scott Gibson holds off this turn.
Dracula: "Show me what you are made of, bard. I expect you to outsmart your others... at least... only one Quester is actually intelligent, and I haven't encountered zat one yeht!"
Scott Gibson: "..."
Metal Man (GM): He finds Scott's EOT odd, but continues his rampage on his turn.
Gibby: "HEY! I resent that!"
Dracula: "Now... to take the toughest one!" *He lunges at Dragoshi.*
Gibby: "HEY! AGAIN!"
Metal Man (GM): He flings and misses it... but, deciding how effective it was against Gibby, he attacks Gibby with it.
Dragoshi: *Dodges the bite* "Hmph."
Gibby gets attacked again.
"Oh no... not again!"
Trigger: "...Ugh, I'm starting to feel tired..."
Dracula: "At last... my power... just what it needs!" *Sucks the blood, tosses Gibby away. Gibby loses another 30% of his HP and 10 damage.*
Metal Man (GM): Then he laughs, and... exits combat?
Dracula: "I have gotten all I need... there is no purpose in mercilessly defeating you."
Metal Man (GM): All of your dexes beep suddenly.
Gibby is on the ground all... weak... and tired.
Alexia whips out her Dex and opens it in one quick motion.
Gibby: "...Can't... move... body."
Metal Man (GM): Dracula begins carefully backing off, wielding his claws.
Alexia tosses a Healing Vial to Gibby, also.
Trigger is on one knee and looks like he's about to pass out.
The Ninja: "Ah! Questers! I've seen you been busy too."
Trigger: "...So ...weak..."
The Ninja is talking through the dex.
Dracula: "Hmph... vhich one of yhou is the intelligent one? I haf nevehr seen such a display vefore..." *Looks around, almost worried.*
Alexia: "...We're killing you when we get back."
The Ninja: "Ever heard of saying, look before leap?"
Dragoshi: "..." *Pulls out Dex, and tries to Earth Bite Dracula in the head, while listening to Ninja.*
The Ninja: "Is Mr. Vampire there? I wish to speak with him."
Alexia: "Ninja, shut up and get over here. NOW."
Dragoshi: "Yep. He is. In fact... Come on over and bring your cross... Boomerang... Thing."
The Ninja: "Mr. Vampire! Can you hear me?"
Dracula: "Hmmm? Are vhou the intelligent Quester? ...Did yhou send these vrutes to whaste my time?"
The Ninja: "No. They did on own."
Dragoshi: "...I'm not a brute. I just hit real hard."
Trigger: "Yo... am I gonna turn into a vampire?"
Gibby: "...If I wasn't lacking in the blood department... I'd smack him for that one..."
The Ninja: "However, I have question for you, Mr. Vampire."
Alexia picks Gibby up using TK. Gently.
The Ninja: "What happens when I set fire to coffin?"
Dracula: "...I have to vhind a new one..."
Gibby: "...Thanks."
Dracula: "Vhat are you speaking about? I'm sure vhat you have no such vhing!"
The Ninja: "And if your house is on fire?"
Dracula: "Nothink much."
The Ninja: "Ah. You mean this is not your coffin I found in untouched house?"
Dragoshi: "...Wate, wut?"
The Ninja: "The one filled with dirt?"
Gibby: "How'd he find his coffin?"
Alexia: *Car screeching sound effect* "...What?"
Dracula: "...Vno, zhat is the coffin of somevody else!"
The Ninja: "Oh. So you don't mind if I do set it on fire?"
Alexia: "...Torch it, Ninja."
Gibby: "Might... as well..."
Dracula: "As muhch as you would mind me making your Gibby friend... a vampiric zlave!"
Trigger: "Do... it."
Metal Man (GM): He brandishes a claw at Gibby.
Gibby: "GAH! NO! Don't do it! I'm allergic to the undead!"
Trigger: "Ok, maybe not."
Alexia puts Gibby behind her.
Dragoshi: *To Dracula* "...As much as you would mind being struck in the head with enough electric deadliness to electrocute someone?"
The Ninja: "Mr. Vampire. We have stand off. So I make you deal."
Dracula: "And zhat is?"
The Ninja: "You let Questers go and I bring you coffin."
Dracula: "A deal... vut unteel I have ze coffin... those who remain cursed zhall be in danger until then."
Gibby gulps.
Alexia moves to guard Gibby from Dracula.
Trigger gulps.
Scott Gibson: "..."
Dragoshi: "..." *Stands back, left claw charged with a LOT of electrical energy ready to be unleashed upon Drac if things go south...*
The Ninja: "I see you to your honor."
Dracula: "I am a vhampire! Nothink is more displeazing than to be dishonorable... zhus why I destroyed your friend's armor..."
Metal Man (GM): Dracula walks away from the Questers and towards where the coffin is.
Dragoshi: "Good thing I didn't take my armor with me..."
Metal Man (GM): Seemingly knowing where it is, regardless of being able to see it.
Trigger: "Good thing I have no armor."
Gibby: "My poor, poor, hat..."
Alexia tries to contact Metal on her Dex.
Metal Man: *dex* "Huh?"
Metal Man (GM): Your dexes beep, all except Alexia's.
Dragoshi: *Already has his Dex out.*
Trigger opens up his dex.
Gibby can barely move much less answer his Dex.
The Ninja: "Questers! Metal is preparing warp. GO to place of entry,"
Metal Man: *Dex* "The warp has been activated, right where Sephiroth was standing. Feel free to use it."
Alexia overhears this from the other's Dexes.
Metal Man (GM): You see a warp appear over on the bluff where he was standing.
Trigger: "Good thing he only bit me once, I can still move."
Alexia: "Metal, it's not Sephiroth. It's Dracula."
Dragoshi: "...Understood, boss." *Drops the charge without using it, and enters the warp.*
Alexia: "He's bitten Gibby twice, Trigger once and he's using the original powers of the Smashers."
Trigger: "Hey Lex, need help carrying Gibby?"
Alexia keeps her Dex open.
Metal Man: "I'm referring to the location, I also found out. You need to escape... he's using something I didn't expect."
Alexia: "I got him."
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, Dracula makes his way to the coffin.
Alexia: "Tell me back at HQ."
Trigger: "Ok."
Alexia enters the warp.
Gibby: "Yeah... I need a visit to Dr. Mario."
Trigger enters the warp.
Gibby gets warped with Alexia.
Scott Gibson jumps into the warp.
Trigger: "Me too."
The Ninja stands by the burning house, as if a light for telling Dracula where he is.
He is also sitting on the coffin.
Metal Man (GM): Dracula emerges, facing the Ninja. He looks far less a monster and more like a count now.
Dracula: "I let ze Questers go. Now hand over ze coffin!"
The Ninja: "Ah! Not yet. Do I have word they don't become cursed?"
Dracula: "Simple."
Metal Man (GM): He chants something, and a rune appears on the coffin... a HOLY rune.
Dracula: "Eef I touch ze coffin, the curse is dispelled on zhem. Eef I do not... great horror vill destroy the Qweesters once and for all."
The Ninja pulls out a the cross he found earlier. "So if you do keep word, I don't get to throw this at you?"
Metal Man (GM): Dracula hisses at it.
Dracula: "I merely vant ze Coffin. Not the Belmont's Veapon of doom!"
The Ninja gets up and sidesteps out of the counts way, allowing him to touch it.
Metal Man (GM): He touches it; the curse would be simultaneously lifted from those he bit.
He himself, though, takes a moment to speak.
Dracula: "It vhas not victory I wanted... eet was vlood!" *WARP.*
Metal Man (GM): He and the coffin vanish; simultaneously the house you just burnt collapses.
Mission Completed
The Ninja: "...Blood."
Metal Man (GM): +1000 EXP to everyone

The Ninja shrugs and gets warped back.
Metal Man (GM): You all reappear at HQ.
Metal seems... strangely, dismayed, even though Sephiroth flew off a cliff.
Metal Man: "It appears something I forgot about from the past came back."
Dragoshi: *Looks at Metal* "...?"
The Ninja resighs in relief.
Alexia: "The Smasher moves?"
Metal Man: "No, no. Those are merely attacks."
Gibby feels slightly better now.
Metal Man: "Back in the old days... there was this whole stadium thing. We were originally made to mimic the fighters from the real worlds in order to protect the lands while they lazily fought one another.
Well, there's a problem now. That knowledge and those foes with those powers apparently aren't entirely dead... and normal grinding style of fighting is useless against them."
Alexia: "So how can we win?"
Metal Man: "Even if he didn't negate your armor there, he could have shoved you off the cliff... in fact, you could have too."
Gibby: "I... don't get it."
*He scratches his head.*
Metal Man: "Furthermore, he was able to heal from powerful moves but, being made of flesh, could have still been pounded. ...I'm saying not all your foes can fall to straight-out power.
At least, not the ones like Dracula, who clearly have mastered something I thought we'd never need again."
Trigger: *Sigh* "Well, I'm gonna go rest, I'll see ya all later."
Dragoshi: "...And, that would be..."
Gibby: "But... it's always worked in the past."
The Ninja: "Undead is tiresome."
Gibby: "I slasha guy, he gets damaged... it's logic!"
Alexia: "Gibby, let Metal talk."
Metal Man: "I will be working on a way to bring back the necessary techniques. You'll still be able to use your high-powered attacks... but expect, if no one else, at least for Dracula to probably outspeed you with some quick ones."
Trigger walks out of the big room and goes back to his room.
Gibby just mutters.
Alexia: "What techniques?"
Metal Man: "Of course, he wasn't prepared for the Ninja's trick, there. ...Techniques of throwing, grabbing, using the environment, deception, and so on."
The Ninja: "No one ever is."
Alexia: "Interesting..."
Gibby: "I still don't see how a simple throw or grab can be better than a deadly sword attack."
Metal Man: "I'm just saying power is only one weapon in your arsenal. If it fails, you might want to try some others."
The Ninja: "Indeed."
Metal Man: "Which will be made available eventually. I'm researching the subject."
Alexia: "Is there an estimate on when we will be able to learn this?"
Gibby rubs his head.
Metal Man: "In a week or two."
Gibby: "Man... I hate learning..."
Charles Magellean is still lost.
Alexia nods.
The Ninja: "Use mind, body and soul."
Gibby: "Well I got the body part, and the soul's just fine... but I ain't exactly the brains of the operation you know."
The Ninja: "Oh. Where is Sky? *Holds up a jug of moonshine* I got him present."
Alexia: "Don't give him any more booze."
Gibby: "Just what we need... MORE drunk people."
Metal Man: "He's in Turion. You could probably visit him later."
Alexia: "So... These techniques are from our past?"
The Ninja: "Tell you Questers what. If you figure out what Metal is trying to say, I will tell you what really happened."
Gibby: "Why must you make everything a challenge?"
Alexia: "...Wait. You know what he's talking about?"
The Ninja: "Because one must learn to face challenge in all forms."
Gibby: "Let me guess... another Ninja life lesson?"
*He was starting to grow tired of all the Ninja talk.*
The Ninja: "Gibby. You must not take words so lightly. This could either save you, or end you."
Gibby: "Psh! Who are you to talk like that to me? I've been around for years, and I've done just fine without your lessons of the day!"
*He was pretty much irritated.*
Alexia: "Gibby..."
Gibby: "Not now!"
*He storms out of the room and heads over to his room so he can relax and burn off some steam.*
Alexia: "...Hothead."
The Ninja: "Luck is not always there. As wise side, it is sometimes better to wait for an enemy to approach on your land than you move on theirs."
Dragoshi: "...He needs to learn how to be calm."
The Ninja: "Oh Metal. What is Belmont's Weapon?"
Metal Man: "I'm not sure exactly, but it's usually something holy which smites vampires."
The Ninja: "The count really disliked it."
Alexia frowns. "From what I've been reading in the library, it's usually a whip. Odd that it'd be a boomerang."
Dragoshi nods in agreement with Alexia.
Metal Man: "Anyway... I leave you to speculate on what I meant, as I prepare the actual stuff for you guys to use soon enough." *Walks off... to the labs!*
The Ninja: "I am tired. Digging up coffins drains energy."
Dragoshi: "...Eh."
The Ninja: "And no more running after lights. I can't keep saving you Questers."
Alexia: "How were we supposed to know that it was a trap?"
Dragoshi: .oO(Not my fault the others are too slow to dodge anything.)
The Ninja: "Because I found count's house."
Alexia casually leans against a wall while talking.
The Ninja: "I arranged Metal to get warp ready while you fought. I found Moonshine in another house, went back to count's house and got coffin to exchange Questers."
Alexia: "Did the Count ever get rid of the curse?"
The Ninja: "He did."
Alexia: "Good."
The Ninja: "Charles would understand if he were here."
Alexia yawns
"...Wow, it's late. I'm gonna go to bed. G'night."
*She heads up to her room.*
