Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 450: Dreams of Peace
Date: July 13th, 2007.
Metal Man (GM): Metal Man, and some old-looking Dreamlander with a cane and drab olive-colored clothes are in the Big Room. Metal seems irritated for some reason.
Wolfman would be in the Big Room... and seeing a... Dreamlander? Been a while there...
Metal Man: "It appears Master Hand couldn't figure out where it went, so this guy did instead."
Dragoshi: *Leans against the wall, looking at Metal... And then he notices the Dreamlander.* "...huh."
Metal Man: "Yet... ...he doesn't seem to give it away that easily..."
Digifanatic: *In there.* "Oh..."
Wolfman: "Metal, haven't you learned by now? He wants us to do something first."
Old Man: "Oh sure I do! It's beyond a couple bad guys, a perilous cave of death, and deep inside an old castle!"
Wolfman: "...and there you go: we take his path."
Old Man: "Oh, yes. I dropped my book somewhere along the way, too."
Wolfman: .oO(...)
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Old Man: "I was out hiking and then these ruffians hit me with their fins."
Wolfman: .oO(Me and my big mouth.)
Old Man: "Something about Meta Kite wanted to keep the Smush Jam."
Dragoshi: "...Okay."
Wolfman: "Meta Knight keeping the Smash Emblem."
Old Man: "Smush Jam? That must be some pretty good Jam, I tells yeh."
Wolfman: "It's not Jam. It's not even food."
Old Man: "Anyway, give them hoodlums a good boppin' for me, couldja? I nearly swallowed my fake fake fake teeth!"
Digifanatic: "Uh... they mixed up their words."
Wolfman: "We'll do what we can sir."
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Alexia: "Your fake... fake fake teeth?"
Dragoshi: "Fake fake fake teeth? Wouldn't that mean... No, wait. That'd be fake fake teeth."
Old Man: "Yeah, I can't afford real fake teeth. So I need fake fake fake teeth."
Wolfman: "We'll discuss teeth another time. So, how do we get there this time? A warp star?"
Metal Man: "Real fake, wouldn't that mean... ow..."
Digifanatic: "No problem. We'll still be able to help you."
Old Man: "Sure! There's one outside. It's an old model, though... watch out for planes!"
Digifanatic: "Can it fit all of us?"
Alexia: "Cool! I've never ridden a warp star before."
Digifanatic: "Not sure many of us have. I believe I haven't."
Old Man: "I think so, you should try it anyway."
Wolfman: "We'll be careful with the flying then."
Digifanatic: "Nice. Thank you very much."
Metal Man (GM): The door opens, showing an old, dusty, faded-yellow warp star.
Old Man: "I'll be waiting!" He sits down and points at Metal. "Now fetch me some toast!"
Wolfman sees the warp star... little old, but it should do.
Digifanatic: .oO(Nothing a nice paint job can't hurt.)
Metal Man: "..." @_@
Wolfman: "Anyone want to hop on me while I hop on the star? Don't forget that I am a bit on the big side."
Alexia: "I will. I think I'm the lightest here anyways, so less back stress, too."
Digifanatic: "Wolf, I don't know how you do it, but you're good when it comes to the ladies."
Dragoshi: "..."
Alexia hops onto Wolf's back.
Wolfman: .oO(...)
Digifanatic: "ANYWAYS."
Dragoshi: "Can we stop messing around here? We have work to do." *Walks over to the warp star.*
Wolfman: "...I don't see how I'm a ladies man: I'm not even a man!"
Digifanatic: "Hence the 'anyways.'" *to Drag that was.*
Wolfman takes the bottom part of the star: Alexia would have to hold on.
Wolfman can Rocket Tackle from this position if required.
Digifanatic: *takes whichever seat is left over... if he has to pilot, oh boy...*
Dragoshi: *Takes the top left part. Whee... >_>*
Alexia hangs on tight.
Alexia: "Ready!"
Metal Man (GM): The ship shakes, then rockets out, shooting stars as it goes. The Questers fly high in the sky... ...Right over a plane...
Wolfman: "...now this is fun!"
Metal Man (GM): ...It's pretty cold and windy up here.
Dragoshi: *Good thing Drag has, like, multiple layers of clothing on. :p*
Wolfman isn't that affected: he had to fight Chill Penguin and visit semi-relatives up in a frigid north in his old realm.
Wolfman: .oO(Of course, I was taller back then.)
Alexia still has that Wolfos skin on--she's been hanging onto it ever since THAT INCIDENT.
Metal Man (GM): It has no cockpit. It's just a flying star. The Questers fly for a bit, then they see a large forest. It suddenly veers downwards.
Wolfman: "Hang on guys: we're approaching our destination!"
Dragoshi: *Is pretty much hanging on. >_>*
Digifanatic is somewhat cold but for the most part, he can tolerate it.
Alexia: "WHOOOOOOOO!"
Metal Man (GM): *CRASH* It bumps into the ground. The Questers see a wide, green area all around, and a forest ahead. It's cheery and peaceful. The sky is so blue, one can't even see the destruction from here.
Wolfman lands... somehow.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers see a small bridge over a river just ahead.
Alexia hops off and looks around.
Wolfman: *Alexia would have been thrown off of him.* "...finally, another peaceful location."
Digifanatic is slightly shaken but nothing substantial...
Wolfman: "I kind of miss Green Hill though."
Alexia gets up from her faceplant into the grass and looks around.
Digifanatic: "That wasn't too bad... uh, Lex, you alright?"
Alexia: "I'm alright. Don't worry."
Wolfman keeps his claws withheld for now... this is a peaceful place.
Digifanatic: "Okay, good."
Wolfman: "If you guys have anything out, sheathe it. Let's enjoy this mission."
Wolfman goes towards the bridge, almost humming the Green Greens tune.
Alexia follows Wolfman, hands in pockets as she looks around.
Metal Man (GM): Wolf and the others walk right to it, and see the peacefully flowing water. Nothing abnormal or evil here.
Alexia: "Now THIS is a nice place for a vacation, if we ever get one."
Dragoshi: *Checks for traps... Or tarps. Possibly even tapirs.*
Digifanatic is not fully concerned about taking out his Digivice right now: it's not really like the others' weapons in which they may be more reliant on theirs than himself.
Digifanatic: *assists Drag in that one.*
Wolfman would eventually approach the bridge, and take a look around the nearby area.
Metal Man (GM): There's no traps on the bridge. It's just a bridge.
Digifanatic: "Looks okay to me."
Wolfman looks to see what is elbow the bridge. Not trap wise, though.
Metal Man (GM): Below the bridge is nothing. Only water.
Alexia just heads across the bridge.
Digifanatic just keeps going for now... over!
Wolfman: "Nice water. I'll have to consider taking a vacation here."
Wolfman catches up to Lex and Digi.
Metal Man (GM): You walk deeper into the forest. There's candy bars and corn on the ground.
Dragoshi: *Is pretty much moving on...*
Wolfman: "Hmm... food across the ground?"
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, food just lays around and never spoils here.
Wolfman: "...I'll admit that I am hungry."
Digifanatic: "Odd."
Dragoshi: "...Very much so."
Wolfman: "Even reploids do need energy. Time to see if I can be compatible with this."
Wolfman takes one of the corns and gulps it.
Digifanatic takes one of the candy bars but does not eat it yet.
Digifanatic: "All we need are about four tomatoes."
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman gets more energy... HP, as it were.
Wolfman was already at full though.
Metal Man (GM): There's some weird rock formations up ahead... looks darker, too. Wolf's energy is full, so he gets no bonus. Just lots of eating.
Dragoshi: *Takes one of the candy bars as well but doesn't eat it.* "Tomatoes? Why? To make ketchup?"
Wolfman will take a second corn, but stash it for later.
Wolfman: "Alright, I'm good."
Alexia heads onward, ignoring the food.
Digifanatic: "Nah. If I remember correctly, those Maxim Tomatoes can do quite a lot of good if we're on the verge of being finished."
Wolfman continues on, up to the... hmm... what types of rocks are these?
Dragoshi: "Ahh..."
Digifanatic: "And it'd be about time we were to come across those types... Ultra Shrooms don't seem to cut it well enough."
Wolfman: .oO(I have a feeling we soon won't need to worry about food much more.)
Metal Man (GM): The Questers make their way to an opening of a cavern. Two weird Kirby-like things with yellow clothes waddle around, blocking the way in.
Wolfman stops.
Digifanatic: *stops.*
Wolfman: "Good afternoon."
Dragoshi: *Stops.*
Metal Man (GM): They leap up and down... ...no speech. They block the way... rather pathetically.
Alexia: "...Why are they doing interpretive dance?"
Wolfman: "Can you tell us what is beyond the cave?" .oO(I don't wish to hurt them here...)
Dragoshi: "...They aren't."
Metal Man (GM): They say nothing; they continue walking. In fact, one of them is about to collide with Wolfman in slow motion.
Wolfman will then jump over both of them to enter.
Wolfman will midair.
Metal Man (GM): *SMACK* *SMACK* Some damage to Wolfman--who then leaps all the way across. They begin slowly chasing Wolfman.
Wolfman gets bonked in the process... oh great, chase scene.
Wolfman will slowly keep ahead of them then.
Metal Man (GM): It's sort of like being chased by demented turtles.
Dragoshi: "...Should we help him?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Just surround those two."
Alexia just follows Wolfman and the two things chasing him.
Dragoshi: "I mean, I think he'd do well enough on his own... But, what if he gets outnumbered or somet-Oh, nevermind." *Follows along.*
Digifanatic walks forward, only as fast as the yellow guys.
Wolfman: .oO(...I don't want to hurt those two... but I have to pay attention to what's ahead) *does so.*
Alexia: "...Hey, guys, weird question."
Dragoshi: "...Yes?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah?"
Metal Man (GM): They slowly follow Wolfman as the group reaches another area with two platforms. Two small ones 20ish feet above everyone.
Alexia: "Do you know of anything that can spontaneously make you get sick when you eat chocolate?"
Metal Man (GM): A giant bear-panda thing drops down and begins jumping up and down.
Digifanatic: "Only an allergic reaction."
Wolfman: .oO(Platforming... guess I might have to use rocket tackle sooner than expected)
Dragoshi: "Nope not as far as I know of."
Metal Man (GM): Then two gold-plated statue heads appear and begin spinning around.
Dragoshi: "Aside from that."
Wolfman: .oO(...alright, I entered a trap instead.)
Metal Man (GM): And there's a dead end... that the weird Waddle Doos are interested in chasing Wolfman into. Above the platforms is another part of the area.
Alexia: "Yeah, but I was okay about a week ago..."
Wolfman will take the platforms: jump time!
Digifanatic: "Have you asked Dr. Mario about it?"
Wolfman is ready to midair up.
Alexia: "...But he steals my money."
Digifanatic: "Ohhh. Did you get the chocolate from Darkdata?"
Wolfman midairs.
Alexia: "No, it was just a regular chocolate bar..."
Digifanatic: "Do you have any extras, or at least a wrapper? I'll check it out for you after we're done with this if you have anything that can help."
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman rockets up. While the other Questers talk, the Waddle doos turn around. They're slowly heading towards Alexia.
Alexia: "But I'm telling you, it was just a regular piece of chocolate... ...Hold on."
Wolfman gets on the platform... and turns to look at what the Waddle doos are doing.
Alexia turns around and flings a Mindblast apiece at them.
Wolfman: .oO(Now that I can pay attention to them...)
Dragoshi: *Anyway, Dragoshi ignores the Doos, walks past them, then jumps up to the platform.*
Metal Man (GM): They. Have really bad defense. Both Waddle Doos explode. However, this provokes the giant bear-thing to try to rush into Alexia!
Wolfman: .oO(...!!! Well then...)
Digifanatic: "A walking battle..."
Wolfman will try an Attack of Opportunity to claw his way into the bear!
Alexia does a quick handspring over it and heads for the platform Wolf's on, hovering up to try and reach it.
Wolfman leaps down from his platform position for this.
Metal Man (GM): Wolf hits the bear. Meanwhile, Dragoshi lands on a mid-platform. The bear is stunned a bit.
Dragoshi: *Now where are those Kabus...?*
Digifanatic tries to assist attacking the bear: Fire Punch while he's open!
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, both statue heads try to crash into Dragoshi and explode.
Wolfman: "Easy on attacking my friends there."
Dragoshi: *And they both fail!*
Metal Man (GM): The bear can't reach Wolfman from below, and is hit as the Kabus vanish for a moment.
Dragoshi: *I presume by 'explode', they comitted sui-Nope.*
Metal Man (GM): The Bear explodes.
Digifanatic: "Okay, now just those two for now..."
Wolfman actually LANDED on the bear level... but whatever.
Dragoshi: *Tries to stay aware of the Kabus...*
Wolfman: "Which two Digi?"
Digifanatic: "The statue-y guys."
Wolfman: "...ah."
Dragoshi: *Waits for them to reappear while getting into a defensive stance...*
Wolfman: "Though, I'd personally think we should just go up and go on. Need a ride up?"
Digifanatic goes for his jumps upward.
Wolfman will follow Digi's lead with jumping.
Metal Man (GM): Digi leaps on up.
Wolfman midairs.
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, the Kabus appear again and spin at Dragoshi. *BOOM* *BOOM* Mega damage as they both suicide on him.
Dragoshi: *Even with the defense boost they luck out. Lucky cheaters.*
Metal Man (GM): Lucky kamikaze cheaters. Either way, Wolf and Digi are at the top.
Dragoshi: *Is already at the mid-platform, so he jumps up to a higher or platform or something then.*
Metal Man (GM): Alexia hovered up to the mid platform. The top one is too high to hover at.
Alexia tries to jump up to the top platform from there.
Wolfman: "If you guys can't get up here, I'll help shuttle you. I was a part of Toad Town Taxi for a reason."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi barely gets up.
Dragoshi: *Anyway... Dragoshi eats that chocolate bar of his to recover some HP. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Alexia mid-airs and makes it up. Everyone's up now, except there's a door blocking the way. There's yellow tiles on the ground too; three of them.
Wolfman: "...of course. What is a platformer without any puzzles?"
Digifanatic: *He looks for any non-tiled ground immediately in front of the door.*
Dragoshi: *He checks how the door is locked. And if any of the tiles have bombs on them.*
Metal Man (GM): There's three yellow tiles; the rest is solid, tough dirt. The door has no locks on it, and Dragoshi can't tell.
Wolfman looks at the tiles... hmm...
Wolfman takes a swipe at the left-most tile.
Digifanatic: *He checks if there is any dirt to stand on between the tiles and the door.*
Metal Man (GM): There is. Left most... the closest one to Wolfman, then, of course. *Flip.* He fall into a pit of magma... which burns him. And throws him back out.
Wolfman gets burned... okay, back to normal... GAH.
Digifanatic: "Right."
Wolfman: "YEOUCH! That stings!"
Digifanatic: "Use something ranged on those other two."
Wolfman: "Ranged? Well, good thing all reploids come with some sort of buster."
Digifanatic: "Yup."
Wolfman aims for the right most tile with his forehead buster, and lets it loose.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, try that."
Metal Man (GM): *FLIP* A walking bomb leaps out of it. It's now slowly walking towards everyone.
Alexia tries using her TK to pin it against the door.
Wolfman: .oO(...gah: another explosive.)
Wolfman gets the Melee Bubble Shield out and running.
Metal Man (GM): It hits the door and explodes. Door: 1 Bomb: 0. That leaves the middle-most tile.
Dragoshi: *Tidal blasts the middle tile.*
Metal Man (GM): There is a switch below it.
Digifanatic: "Aw, you ruined the stepping... oh."
Wolfman: .oO(...I bet that was the switch needed to open the door.) "Go ahead and hit it. Probably pointless now, though."
Dragoshi: *Tidal Blasts the switch.*
Wolfman: "...not THAT type of hit!"
Alexia: "Too late..."
Metal Man (GM): It flips, and the door opens. A robotic penguin leaps out and at Wolfman.
Digifanatic: "Looks like we'll have to jump for this one."
Metal Man (GM): It slides into him ... ...and into the magma pit, killing itself.
Wolfman gets bonked by a penguin... gah.
Alexia: "...Need a Mend?"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers feel a cold breeze from inside this cave.
Dragoshi: "...Man, what is up with the suicidal opposition today."
Wolfman: "It wouldn't hurt."
Digifanatic: "Can't tell you, Dragoshi."
Wolfman: "Alright, I know I'm having a crazy feel for food. ...but the next enemy we run into, I'm biting."
Alexia starts Mending Wolfman.
Metal Man (GM): It seems sorta icy inside the cave, too.
Dragoshi: "Anyway... I think we should move on."
Digifanatic: *He checks how wide the gap is.*
Metal Man (GM): No gap inside the cave or anywhere else, except over the former tiles--but anyone can walk over those.
Dragoshi: *Ker-walk.*
Wolfman gets a heal. He also uses his own healing factor to give more health back.
Digifanatic: *walks over the tiles.*
Wolfman moves slowly... while the claws help with traction, it's best to be careful nonetheless.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers reach... ...a minecart, encased in a block of ice.
Wolfman: "...this seems too easy. Dragoshi, this is your element."
Dragoshi: "...I'll melt it slowly."
Digifanatic: "Time to take a ride."
Alexia: "...A ride?"
Dragoshi: "As not to cause antipodal explosions." *Slowly thaws out the minecart with his fire breath...*
Wolfman: "Alexia, Drag is burning ice from around that mine cart."
Metal Man (GM): The minecart is soon defrosted.
Wolfman: "Once the rest of you are in, I'll help push it. I am due for another run anyway."
Alexia: "I know, but doesn't this seem kinda risky?"
Wolfman: "What isn't?"
Alexia: "I mean, I wouldn't want any of you to get hurt..."
Dragoshi: "Ehh... Pain's a part of a job."
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Wolfman: "Alright, anyone that does not want to ride on a running wolf, get in the cart."
Digifanatic: *walks over and hops in.*
Dragoshi: "'Sides. I've been through w-Oh, you get the point." *Enters the cart.*
Wolfman waits for Alexia's decision.
Wolfman: "I'm pushing this thing regardless."
Alexia: "Well, if you say so, guys..."
Alexia jumps into the minecart.
Dex: "One push is all it needs--it is a magical minecart."
Wolfman: .oO(Good to know) *PUSH* *CHASE.*
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman leaps aboard as the minecart goes downhill, and everyone gets weird mine helmets for no reason.
Wolfman wanted to run after the minecart... gah.
Metal Man (GM): Then it goes up and off a ramp and over a massive gap, onto a flat track... It drives through a bunch of enemies on the track.
Dragoshi: *Makes sure to duck down, just in case...*
Wolfman: .oO(...grr... I want to eat!)
Metal Man (GM): However, everyone is now under attack by chasing jet-pack baddies.
Wolfman: .oO(FOOD!)
Alexia starts firing at them with Gatling blasts.
Wolfman can chase after the cart later. He leaps up, and goes to bite.
Alexia: "Wait a minu--CRAP!"
Dragoshi: *Breaths fire at one of them...*
Digifanatic: "Ohh boy..." *turns back, yanks out his 'Vice without wasting a beat and starts firing a round of Hyper Beam Matrix at the one Wolf didn't attack.
Alexia watches her Gatling shots zoom at the back of Wolf's head.
Metal Man (GM): Two of them die... ...A third flies at Alexia. *KABOOM*
Digifanatic: *Make that the one that went for Alexia.*
Wolfman was hoping for the "bite, swallow, gain powers" part.
Alexia gets slammed onto her back in the cart.
Metal Man (GM): A fourth dies from Digi's attack. Meanwhile, Wolfman gets a jetpack for no reason, and another guy flies at Digi. 4 more hover the car.
Digifanatic: *El Hit.*
Wolfman: .oO(Haha! Now I've got your powers!)
Wolfman combines Rocket Tackle + Jet to catch up.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi breaths FIAR at one of the four.*
Alexia: *dizzily.* "Anybody get the number of that runaway bus?"
Wolfman: .oO(...I need a more unique ability. This is merely a duplicate)
Digifanatic: *Uses a Healing Vial on Alexia and himself.*
Metal Man (GM): Two more die. The other two crash at Digi.
Digifanatic: "Screw the Vials!" *another round of HBM!*
Dragoshi: "..." *Waits for another jet guy to appear so he can open fire...*
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman killed one. Digi then kills one of the last remaining ones... one left.
Wolfman lands back in the cart.
Wolfman then shakes the jet power off... too similar.
Dragoshi: *Breathes fire on the remainder, then.*
Wolfman: *howl taunt.*
Metal Man (GM): The last one flies at Dragoshi. It explodes after dealing damage to him. The cart leaps onto another path; it's now over magma.
Alexia pushes herself up off of the floor of the cart.
Wolfman: Wolfman has lost: Jet power!
Alexia: "Ugh... sorry, guys."
Dragoshi: "No problem."
Metal Man (GM): It flew through Dragoshi's flames. And exploded after it crashed into Dragoshi, on fire. Everyone is in a mine cart over magma. Dream land physics prevent it from melting.
Wolfman just awaits for a new enemy to bite into...
Wolfman: "Dragoshi, calm down. You seem tense."
Metal Man (GM): The track ahead is out.
Wolfman: "This mine cart is supporting us. ...the track ahead, though, isn't."
Digifanatic: "Where is Darkdata's Solidify..."
Wolfman: "...maybe I should have kept that jet."
Dragoshi: "Hrmm..."
Alexia: "I could try to keep the cart up with my TK..."
Wolfman: "Do it."
Digifanatic: *He looks for any way to temp stop the cart.*
Metal Man (GM): There aren't exactly any easy ways to do that.
Alexia tries to lift the cart up and over the gap.
Metal Man (GM): It seems to have a mind of its own.
Digifanatic: "And if the going looks that bad, I can teleport all of us and the cart over this gap."
Wolfman: "I don't think it's needed Digi."
Digifanatic: "Well, I can't say I didn't try."
Metal Man (GM): It flies right over the gap and through another wall. Now... a fork in the track. The left one goes up but over into a pit of some kind; the one on the right goes to more magma. There's a switch up ahead; it's currently set to the left one. Split path.
Alexia: "I say left."
Digifanatic: *trying to look ahead.* "Seems so."
Wolfman: "...we can split up. I think I can handle the pit path. You guys take the magma path."
Digifanatic: *sighs.* "Alright then... mind if I even the two sides up?"
Dragoshi: "Why can't we all just go left?" >_>;;
Wolfman: "Hop on Digi. Drag, splitting up covers more ground."
Digifanatic: "I don't know." *leaps for Wolf's back!*
Wolfman: "Now hit that switch so Digi and I can bail."
Dragoshi: "Yes, but it also kills people more easily. Why does no one get that?"
Wolfman: "...we're heroes. We never get anything right that quickly."
Metal Man (GM): 3 minutes til' the switch!
Alexia aims and tosses a Psy Needle at the switch to change it.
Dragoshi: "...Actually, we do."
Wolfman: "...then perhaps this realm is acting crazy on me. Either way, I don't wish to fight it."
Digifanatic: "Let's just deal with what we've got. Let's hope that at the very worst, only two of us will be down a life. Cause it could easily be all four of us otherwise."
Wolfman: "Digi is right on that."
Dragoshi: "Or we could all lose a-Oh, nevermind."
Wolfman leaps off with Digi on top at the proper time while Drag and Alexia take the magma path.
Digifanatic: "I hope you can control your descent rate, that's all I'm concerned about."
Metal Man (GM): Switch changes, and the cart speeds off with Alexia and Dragoshi.
Wolfman: "I've got powered flight: I can take advantage of it plus Rocket Tackle."
Metal Man (GM): I'll start with the side of Wolfman and Digi... the cart speeds off, becoming much faster. For Wolfman and Digi, there's a bit of a pit to fall down to continue.
Digifanatic: *all he's planning on doing is holding on for now.*
Wolfman will go across the pit if possible...
Metal Man (GM): Down it. No way across. It's a vertical shaft.
Wolfman will go Twilight Princess like down the shaft then: finding the good spots, then quickly moving to the next.
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman leaps down really quickly, landing into a far more open cave area... woah. He and Digi are in front of a massive subterranean castle!
Wolfman: "...woah."
Digifanatic: "Okay then."
Metal Man (GM): The front door's only guarded by two weird things with brooms and witch hats cleaning the floor.
Wolfman: "I think we made the right choice to split up. Unfortunately, I don't think these guys are going to be friendly. Time for evading."
Wolfman will try to jump over the two broom hatters.
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman leaps over them... the way inside is open.
Wolfman and Digi enter the front door now... *you may hop off if you want to now Digi.*
Digifanatic: *Does so.*
Metal Man (GM): There's a big old door ahead; but it's got a giant lock on it, and it's heavy. There's two DeDeDe statues to it; one to the left, one to the right.
Wolfman: "...I pick that lock, I get busted."
Digifanatic thinks switches will be necessary to solve this one.
Digifanatic: *searches for things like switches or whatnot to open this door.*
Wolfman checks the room for other passageways and such things.
Metal Man (GM): The group finds a bag of popcorn.
Digifanatic: *Re-search!* *There we go.*
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman finds... peanut butter cups. Digi finds... that the statues both look suspicious.
Wolfman: .oO(I knew I was hungry, but this is ridiculous!)
Wolfman turns to Digi.
Wolfman: "...alright Digi, what is it?"
Digifanatic: "Something with the statues."
Digifanatic looks to see how big those are and how heavy they may be.
Wolfman: .oO(...do they speak Scottish?) "Hello Statues!"
Metal Man (GM): They're both heavy. They both have something behind them, too.
Wolfman waits for a response... if any.
Digifanatic takes a step behind the left statue.
Metal Man (GM): No response.
Wolfman sees Digi going to the LEFT statue... Wolf might as well check out the RIGHT statue and what's behind that one.
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman looks behind the right statue. A cannon shoots him! Digi finds a bomb behind the left statue.
Wolfman gets blasted...
Wolfman: "Alright, last time I do that."
Digifanatic: *He checks if it is live or is awaiting detonation.*
Metal Man (GM): Needs to be triggered first.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... I got it."
Wolfman is back in the center area.
Wolfman: "...how went your search?" *shakes off explosion results.*
Digifanatic: "I have an idea." *Looks to see if casually taking the bomb out from the statue may cut something which will set it off.*
Wolfman: "Well, share it or do it."
Digifanatic: "Checking for one thing first."
Metal Man (GM): Taking it would would set it off. In Digi's face.
Digifanatic: "Okay... here's how I think we have to do this."
Wolfman is listening.
Digifanatic: "If it's possible, we've got to push the statue close in to the door. Then we need to use something from a safe range that'll set the bomb off and blow the door, or at least the lock, up."
Metal Man (GM): You can push the statue.
Wolfman: "...wait a second. The statue I checked out blasted me with a cannon."
Digifanatic: "Sure. Okay, I see where you're going."
Wolfman: "I can try putting my statue in line with your statue so that mine shoots, explodes your bomb, and we're in."
Digifanatic: "Good one. Like I said, just make sure that second one is close enough."
Wolfman: "Let's get to it then."
Wolfman starts getting his statue into a good position... if such a thing is possible. Stupid 4 legger...
Digifanatic: *assists him without being in the presence of the cannon.*
Metal Man (GM): Cannon shoots the bomb. The entire door explodes. It reveals a large cathedral. Up at a platform, next to a large wall, Meta Knight sits.
Wolfman walks in slowly... and sees an old friend... Meta Knight.
Wolfman: .oO(...now for the fun.)
Metal Man (GM): MEANWHILE...
Metal Man (GM): Garrick, Darkdata, and co. are now speeding down a fiery magma path in a minecart. In fact, the minecart itself catches on fire, hitting countless baddies and walls.
Dragoshi: *Any other side in sight?*
Metal Man (GM): No. It just gets hotter and hotter...
Garrick: *warp.* "Hey, wha--WHOA, DOCTAH!!"
Metal Man (GM): And then... it goes down a bit... ...through some magma... ...And now at a wall... Back where Wolfman is. Meta Knight goes to speak to Wolfman.
Dragoshi: *so glad he's wearing a Goron's tunic.*
Metal Man (GM): Then a flaming Minecart blasts out of the wall. And crashes into the ground with a lot of magma nearby. With Garrick, Dragoshi, and co. inside.
Wolfman: "... this is a Cathedral!"
Dragoshi: "Holy crap, this is nuts!"
Wolfman: "Can't you guys come up with a better way of entering?"
Garrick: "We're Questers?"
Meta: "So you are here at last... ...what do you want?"
Garrick: "Does that answer your question?"
Dragoshi: "...Maybe I should've said 'DYNAMIC... ENTRYYYYYY' instead just to fit with how messed up the entrance wa-Oh, nevermind." *Hops out of the minecart.*
Wolfman: "Meta Knight, we are searching for a Smash Emblem that can stop The Void from destroying other planets."
Metal Man (GM): Meta Knight looks away from Wolfman, pulling his cape around him. He looks out a window. This is some weird cathedral-in-a-cliff.
Garrick: .oO(I'd still like to know what exactly a Smash Emblem is...)
Wolfman: .oO(...we're going to have to fight him.)
Meta Knight: "I see. But things have changed... very much. I once trusted one of you... Locos Docos."
Wolfman: .oO(He probably knows more than he's letting on.) "Locos has since been destroyed."
Meta Knight: "The fool wasted my might and my time... and nearly got me killed for the bargain. His sequel men ignored my calls for sanity."
Wolfman: "Through a combination of us... and The Void."
Meta Knight: "Aetos showed to me, again, the Questers were pliable to the wrong people..."
Wolfman: "...Aetos, I believe, might be a future target for us."
Meta Knight: "For my trust, I have had to suffer here. My men hardly listen anymore, the Halberd is a wreck."
Garrick: "...alright, look. Can I say something?"
Meta Knight: "I cannot bear to give the only object of value left in my possession... unless..."
Metal Man (GM): He turns to Garrick.
Meta Knight: "What is it you wish to say?"
Wolfman: .oO(...this was more between myself and Meta here... after all, we got him involved)
Garrick: "We know that Locos was... odd, to say the least. He did some very bad things. Out of everyone in this room, we have a pretty solid idea of what he was capable of. But he's gone now. I don't blame your mistrust for us, but something very, very big is about to go down here."
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Meta Knight: "I don't care what happens to me anymore. I just don't wish to die... with nothing accomplished."
Wolfman: "...then I propose an idea."
Darkdata: *Agrees with Garrick.*
Garrick: *sighs, wondering what crazy idea Wolf has this time and when his death comes into it.* "Could I finish, at least?"
Wolfman: "You fight one of us in sword combat. If that person fights with the honor and trust you look for, you will help us find the Smash Emblem. I know you are good with swords." .oO(...at least if this idea works, I can't fight in it since I can't use a sword.)
Dragoshi: *...Is prolly' the only one that's here now that has a sword.*
Meta Knight: "I am unsure... you all have methods unlike even Kirby. It is unlikely it would be fair. I am alone. Yet I am cornered. And I am too honorable to abuse the emblem to fight you."
Wolfman: "...I did not think of that. You are right."
Garrick: "...then we do this right."
Meta Knight: "The emblem I guard... only because I feel that one of you may be another Charles Magellean... Until I am sure you are honorable, I will die trying to keep it away from you."
Dragoshi: "Hmm..."
Garrick: "You without the Emblem. One of us with only one Quester life at our disposal."
Meta Knight: "Hmmm... very well. Of course, it is customary they have a sword... should they not possess one."
Wolfman turns to Dragoshi...
Dragoshi: *Pulls out his sword and twirls it.* "If no one else wants to take a crack at it..."
Wolfman: "...I believe you have a sword. I trust you for this fight."
Garrick: *frowns, grumbling to himself.* "Dragoshi is the only one with a sword among us..."
Wolfman: "Questers, let us stand back, and not interfere."
Wolfman moves to one of the far walls.
Garrick: "Dragoshi, keep it clean. Sword fight only. No moves..."
Dragoshi: *Stops twirling the sword, and eases into stance...*
Meta Knight: "I am an experienced fighter. It is only the number that would be unfair; one on one, I can fight anyone evenly... so I hope."
Digifanatic: *stays back.*
Garrick: *glances between the two of them, then steps back and settles himself along the wall, watching.*
Metal Man (GM): He shifts his eyes to Dragoshi. He takes out his sword; it shines.
Meta Knight: "The emblem is not on me; just in case you tried to kill me. But I know where it is... yes. Should you be worthy... make whatever preparations you will."
Dragoshi: "...Understood."
Metal Man (GM): He waits for a moment; this is your chance to heal/whatever. Also, I must quickly draw up a few stats...
Dragoshi: "Thank you." *First, Dragoshi eats an Ultra Shroom. Then he pulls out three Recovery Vials, and drinks each one of them. ...Though he still isn't fully healed.*
Wolfman will toss Drag his piece of corn he saved if that's allowed by Meta Knight.
Digifanatic: *Tosses Drag another Vial, as well as that candy bar if necessary.*
Garrick: *remains silent, watching.*
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi then pulls out his scythe, and hands it over to someone. He then does the same with the hammer and the machinegun... Oh that scythe handle he got from the dead Cream.*
Darkdata uses Healing Darksong to heal Dragoshi.
Wolfman will hang onto the Scythe handle.
Dragoshi: *Drag gladly takes the candy and the vial, but kindly declines the corn.* "...Thank you." *He then gets into stance again...*
Metal Man (GM): He holds up his sword... it appears to be battle time!
Wolfman simply takes a sitting position, claws retracted... staying silent for the most part.
Metal Man (GM): BATTLE.
Dragoshi: *But, before Dragoshi does anything... he bows?* "I wish you the best of luck in this match, my honorable foe." *Though, instead of attacking, Dragoshi, wanting to get a good analysis of his enemy, decides to get into a parrying position and prepare to deflect any attacks. Defending.*
Metal Man (GM): Meta Knight runs up to Dragoshi and slashes at him twice.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi is too slow to deflect the first, but brings his blade up to parry the second!*
Metal Man (GM): Then he flicks his sword on the ground, causing a wave of energy to rise at it and fly at Dragoshi.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi was way too slow on the uptake to block that one.* "Good, good. I can see that this'll be an interesting fight already." *Dragoshi, would then proceed to slash Meta Knight with the sword, then strike at him with his claw for a modified Swipe, then readies himself for a few seconds, as he then attempts to strike Meta Knight with a mighty upwards kick, then come down upon him with an equally deadly downwards cleave of his blade!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. Hit, crit.
Wolfman: .oO(...he kicked? I'm unsure if that's what Meta Knight wanted.)
Metal Man (GM): He's knocked back, his back against the platform. Or at least, near it.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi zooms forward, and would proceed to quickly (And rather forcefully) try to slash Meta Knight with enough force to slam him arse into ground, but not forcefully enough to shake anything loose from 'im. ...Huh.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit. He hits the back of the platform and grunts a bit.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi would then proceed to once again swipe at him with his sword and claw twice in a row, pulling of a double 'cross-slash' of sorts. ...Or at least try to.*
Wolfman: .oO(...I'm not sure how honorable that was... technique is one thing.)
Metal Man (GM): Hit hit miss hit. Meta Knight does not seem bothered, even though Dragoshi destroyed a lot of his energy very quickly. He shoots a sword beam at Dragoshi.
Dragoshi: *And Dragoshi is once again too slow to block! Ouch! That singed 'im a bit...*
Metal Man (GM): He then spins his sword, causing a cylinder-shaped tornado to fly at Dragoshi... Dragoshi evades it; Meta Knight attacks with a sword barrage.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi probably steps out of the way of that with some grace in his step! >_>* *Parr-Nevermind.*
Metal Man (GM): Then he leaps up and tries to glide into Dragoshi, sword-first.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi gains a cut across the side.* "...Well, this progressing rather smoothly." *Dodge!~*
Metal Man (GM): Miss. He attacks with the sword wave.
Dragoshi: *autohit.*
Metal Man (GM): Then he does two slashes. He does another sword barrage. He finishes off by turning into a sword tornado...
Dragoshi: *Well, this could go either way...*
Metal Man (GM): Miss. He lands at the platform.
Meta Knight: "I, too, can attack many times in succession."
Dragoshi: "Heh..."
Wolfman: .oO(Well then... Meta Knight matches the ferocity of Dragoshi. This will be an interesting fight.)
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi would then proceed to once again ready himself... Then, this time instead of an upward kick, he strikes with an upward slash, then comes down with a downward kick!* .oO(If only I had two swords, then this would feel a lot less dishonorable...@_@)
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. He is knocked back.
Garrick: *watches quietly...*
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi walks forward, then jumps up and proceeds to slash at Meta Knight, sword and claws going full force!*
Metal Man (GM): Miss, hit. Meta Knight, exhausted from earlier, does far fewer attacks... He fires another tornado at Dragoshi.
Dragoshi: *And Dragoshi dances outta the way!*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi succeeds. He then glides at Dragoshi. Hit, and he lands behind Dragoshi.
Dragoshi: *Okay, and that means the guy's... a ways away. No problem. As Dragoshi can cover that easily, then does the forceful slash of DEEEWWWWWM. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi would then follow up a normal modified flipkick, then a swipe!*
Metal Man (GM): He attacks with a sword barrage.
Dragoshi: *BARELY hit.*
Metal Man (GM): Then a gliding stab.
Wolfman: .oO(...this is definitely interesting. I see Dragoshi tiring out... but not Meta.)
Metal Man (GM): Quite a ways towards it. He then does two slashes. Then... he does a final tornado attack.
Wolfman: *insert Kirby health warning here.*
Dragoshi: *Dodge!* "...Even if I lose... At least I fought a good fight. ...I hope." *Dragoshi would then once again walk a unit forward to Meta Knight, get into position again, then do the mighty upwards kick of dewm, and follow up with the equally devastating downwards cleave!*
Metal Man (GM): He slides back a bit.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi would then once again walk over to Meta Knight, and proceed to do the good 'ol Modified Swipe one last time!* *Lucky on the first miss.*
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Wolfman: .oO(...will this be the coup de grace?)
Dragoshi: *Calmly waits for the probable and possibly definite defeat.*
Metal Man (GM): He makes a slower tornado attack... Dragoshi dodges it.
Dragoshi: *He quickly dodges out of the way.* .oO(Did he...)
Metal Man (GM): Then he leaps above Dragoshi and tries to stab from above. Miss.
Dragoshi: .oO(What the heck...?)
Wolfman: .oO(Interesting technique... but it didn't work. Time to see if Dragoshi can pull this off.)
Dragoshi: *Drago would then face down Meta Knight again, but this time strike with another forceful slash, a modified swipe and a slightly charged Modified Flipkick!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. Meta Knight is ready to attack again. However, he raises his sword.
Meta Knight: "Enough. I believe we are... evenly matched."
Dragoshi: *Once again stands calmly, waiting for the possible final blow to come...*
Meta Knight: "Defeating you based solely on order of who is able to attack first would be meaningless."
Dragoshi: "...wha?"
Metal Man (GM): Battle Over!
Wolfman: .oO(...Dragoshi made it.)
Dragoshi: "...Yes. That it would." *Bows, then calmly puts his sword away.*
Digifanatic: .oO(Now that is cool.)
Garrick: *doesn't say anything... he remains wary until he sees the Emblem safely in Quester hands.*
Dragoshi: "That was a rather impressive array of skills there." *Keeps his guard up though...*
Wolfman waits for both sides to put weapons away before approaching the two.
Meta Knight: "I see you are honorable enough. You did not give up in the face of difficulty, nor did you summon a rocket chair or drink poison to become stronger. You used no all-powerful artifacts and fought to the conclusion... good enough."
Dragoshi: "Thank you." .oO(Also, this proves that I also need to improve upon my swordsmanship. @_@)
Meta Knight: "Now... take this... and leave me be. I must have some time to think."
Metal Man (GM): He pries open a trap door in the platform. Some controls appear.
Dragoshi: *Nods.* "Understood."
Metal Man (GM): Also, the Smash Emblem is there. He hands it to Dragoshi.
Wolfman: .oO(I was right...)
Dragoshi: *Calmly takes it, and pockets it.* "Once again, thank you." *He bows.*
Meta Knight: "If Locos is dead... then none of his crazy followers can stop me... from this."
Garrick: *sighs softly, shaking his head and gently pushing himself away from the wall, then hesitates at Meta Knight's words..*
Dragoshi: "...?"
Metal Man (GM): He turns a control, and a massive door to the left opens, moving the entire wall. Indeed; it is the Halberd.
Darkdata: "At least we never had to fight Doopliss this time... Hmm?"
Meta Knight: "I shall fly the skies in search of the answer."
Wolfman wonders what Meta meant... wha?
Meta Knight: "Then, at least, I can be aboard my favorite ship when the world ends."
Garrick: *whistles.* "...wish I could take a look at thing... but if you got to go, you got to go."
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh boy.)
Wolfman: .oO(...figures he had the halberd ready) "Good luck finding your answers Meta Knight."
Dragoshi: *Nods.* "I wish you luck in your journey." *on.
Digifanatic: "I concur to his statement."
Garrick: "Watch you back out there, bud."
Dragoshi: .oO(That's two emblems collected...)
Wolfman: .oO(...at least this was a friendly challenge for the emblem. Now where are the last two...?)
Meta Knight: "Hmmm..." He walks away. The warp back appears.
Wolfman: "...the warp? I wanted a warp star back! Those are fun to ride on."
Garrick: "Wolf, shut up and go."
Digifanatic: "Well, that was a peaceful negotiation."
Dragoshi: "Yep..."
Wolfman: "Fine Garrick. Dragoshi, you did good out there. Let's tell Metal our mission was accomplished... mostly. Though I still want you to pay for that dent in the Cathedral." *smirk.* *WARP.*
Dragoshi: "And, I got some good practice out of it. Who knows when swordsmanship will help in defeating The Void, ne? ...Oh, and mo-Oh, right. The Dreamlander and his lost book. ...Where is that thing, anyway?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah... too bad we didn't ask Meta about that."
Garrick: *frowns as he watches the swordsman walk off... he wishes he could talk to him more... learn about him, get tutored more about his own brand of swordplay, but... he's been in a ragged mood for weeks now... he turns and is the first to enter the warp.*
Darkdata warps also. He did not have to do much. <<
Metal Man (GM): Mission Completed.
Digifanatic: *warp.*
Dragoshi: *Walks into the warp, smiling, even though he's beaten up.*
Digifanatic: *Level 94.*
Metal Man (GM): The old man is at HQ, eating a sandwich.
Metal Man: "...I destroyed those blinds which annoyed you. Is that quite enough?"
Garrick: "...who's this guy?"
Old Man: "No! I must see old episodes of... uh... Kirby vs. The Moon!"
Metal Man: "..."
Wolfman: "We found the Smash Emblem. We earned it after Dragoshi fought Meta Knight in an honorable duel."
Garrick: *walks out of the warp room, brushing soot off his jacket.*
Metal Man: "Well, he said he'd stay there until he'd get a book."
Wolfman: "...wait."
Garrick: "What book?"
Wolfman: "You mean that book request was not a joke?"
Digifanatic: "I didn't think it was."
Wolfman: "...I did."
Garrick: "...seriously, what book?"
Dragoshi: "I didn't either. I mean, we went through caves, mine carts and other crazy stuff, but no book."
Garrick: "We're we supposed to be looking for a book?"
Wolfman turns to the Old Man.
Wolfman: "What is the title of the Book?"
Old Man: "Well, I lost a book... it was called "A trail guide to Green Greens." You couldn't find it either, could you?"
Wolfman: "...I believe that book is available in the Toad Town Library somewhere."
Garrick: "...who's the author?"
Wolfman: "Give me a few moments, and I'll check." *zooms out.*
Old Man: "Uh... Waddle Dee..."
Metal Man (GM): It's a fairly common book. So it'd be there.
Wolfman puts the book on his back, and takes it to the librarian.
Garrick: "Well, Wolf will probably pick it up... how'd he get in here, anyway?"
Wolfman: "How much to buy this book? A friend of mine lost his copy."
Metal Man: "He helped us find the Smash Emblem in the first place."
Garrick: "Yeah, about that... I've been meaning to ask you. What ARE these Smash Emblems? More magical artifact things?"
Metal Man: "No. They are, specifically, keys that unleash the full potential of whoever uses them. Or, used against The Void, they unmask his true form."
Wolfman: .oO(...I hope the librarian is paying attention. I don't want to have to yell.)
Dragoshi: "Yep..."
Metal Man (GM): Wolfman would see it would cost 5000 to buy that book.
Wolfman: .oO(...there goes my fight earnings against Master Hand...)
Garrick: "Heh... I wonder if this has anything to do with it... I got it from the Void."
Wolfman: *PAY* *WARP BACK WITH BOOK.*
Dragoshi: "Also. When you say 'used against', do we have to throw the Emblems at him or show them to him?"
Garrick: *holds out that V thingy.*
Metal Man: "That... is a weird trinket."
Wolfman: "I have a new copy for you, sir."
Garrick: "I'm probably just going to throw it away... knowing my luck, it'll turn me evil and I'll be the next fricken Locos.."
Digifanatic: "Huh..."
Old Man: "Eh? Oh. This is much better." He takes the copy and walks out... but it was sort of too late. Though it may help the Questers later!
Digifanatic: .oO(I wonder what's up with that chocolate Alexia ate.)
