Date: October 6th, 2007.
Metal Man (GM): It's another day. A very boring day, in fact.
Dragoshi: *Prolly' practicing his dancing, then. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Its been many boring days. With little to nothing to do since the Questers quashed those Space Pirates good, all there is to do is seemingly wander around R&R.
Chancé: "All I seem to be doing lately is cook..."
Chancé sighs and keeps on stuffing that coocoobo.
Deloth is currently on the R&R's couch, fast asleep.
Metal Man (GM): For indeed. Jigglypuff walks into R&R. Why? Well, good question. As she just opened a door no one has seen before. Casually pushing a chair aside and opening it, she walks down some stairs which, also, have never been seen before.
Digifanatic: .oO(Ah, finally... hmm, that's odd.)
Metal Man (GM): A sign on the inside of the door says "TOP SECRET--NO UNAUTHORIZED PERSONNEL BEYOND THIS POINT."
Dragoshi: *Stops his dancing.* "What the-..."
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, Jigglypuff was supposed to shut it behind herself, as another sign says "This door Locks on being closed."
Digifanatic: *looks at the sign.* .oO(Odd...) *Anyways, he looks at Jigglypuff and turns his Smash Dex translator on.*
Chancé is still in the kitchen unaware of this.
Dex: "Subject out of range."
Metal Man (GM): Indeed, Jigglypuff just walked down those stairs and disappeared. Chancé sees nothing unusual in the kitchen.
Digifanatic: "Hang on, I'm gonna follow her. I still need to ask some stuff about that fight." .oO(Well, I am a Quester and do the other stuff on occasion...) *decides to follow the door to see if he's got access.*
Chancé throws together the final ingredients and...
Metal Man (GM): Chancé hears Digi say 'Follow her' in the distance. Chancé completes whatever he was cooking. Deloth would be awakened by Digi walking into some sort of room, lightly knocking into the door.
Chancé takes a sip... hmm, *turns off the stove.* "Needs to simmer. Might as well see what Digi wants."
Metal Man (GM): One of those noises that'd wake up people.
Chancé heads towards the voice.
Deloth sits up, blinking sleepily.
Metal Man (GM): *Clack.* *clack.* Can't tell if you are authorized, but... Digi manages to go down the stairs.
Deloth: "Look, I--eh?"
Dragoshi: "Hm. Might as well." *Follows.*
Metal Man (GM): The stairs are blue and purple steel things, reminiscent of Final Destination.
Deloth sits up and heads towards the stairs. Never seen THESE before...
Metal Man (GM): Digi is seen walking down them.
Digifanatic: .oO(Aww man... I don't need everyone infringing on what I wish is a casual conversation like this...)
Metal Man (GM): As does Chancé, who'd find himself next to the door and Deloth. And then there's Dragoshi going down the stairs.
Chancé: "Hmm, I have not seen these..."
Metal Man (GM): Digi sees at the bottom is a scanner of sorts, it looks really, really old.
Chancé: "Does the door become hidden?"
Deloth: "...Weird."
Metal Man (GM): The door appears to hide itself into the wall perfectly if closed.
Deloth heads down the steps, looking around.
Digifanatic picks up the scanner and looks at its appearance.
Metal Man (GM): But one wouldn't want to do that--it'd lock it shut.
Chancé: "Yes, I see... Might as well explore!"
Chancé rusn down the stairs.
Metal Man (GM): The scanner is about dex-shaped, has Metal Man's handiwork on it (Mainly, he designed it), and is apparently waiting for someone to show their authorization before anyone can continue.
Digifanatic: *does whatever he needs to get to an authorization screen of sorts, unless it's already there.*
Metal Man (GM): It's already there, waiting for input. Dragoshi would reach Digi, as would Deloth. Chancé reaches them too.
Digifanatic again does whatever he has to--handprint, name, etc. "Hey guys."
Metal Man (GM): That's too vague to get any sort of authorization. The device is dex shaped.
Chancé: "It seems like a dex would fit there. Hmm.." *Places his dex on the slot? area? thingy32?*
Digifanatic: "Ah, thought I had to scan something or whatever. I'll try that." *inserts his Dex into the scanner.*
Metal Man (GM): *Click.* *Scan.*
Scanner: "Your dex is not cleared." *BZT!* *KZZZZT!* It shoots sparks. "Error: Metal Man-generation dex detected. Unknown override activated."
Dragoshi: "Hm?"
Metal Man (GM): The door shoots open. Ozone can be smelled in the air, along with the smell of brand new plastic and computers.
Chancé: o_O "Ok.."
Metal Man (GM): So this is the real lab... ...A large, expansive room is before the group.
Chancé picks up his Dex and heads in.
Digifanatic: "Odd... Metal designed this and he doesn't approve of the Dexes from when he was our leader?! Kind of a hypocrisy, huh?"
Metal Man (GM): Various projects lay around. The current fighter remote is laying around... and a pile of old pictures. Indeed, what's weirder is that there is Kuja technology laying around. It's all brand new, too. Too new to be Metal Man's. The fact it's all neatly organized, and lit by overhead lights means somebody else is doing this.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... maybe someone just studied Metal's work real well, whomever it's been."
Dragoshi: "No. I was thinking that the not cleared thing was referring to Chancé's."
Deloth: "...Holy COW."
Metal Man (GM): The long room leads across to two doors, one which goes to 'Generator room' and is a simple, locked door...
Chancé: "So, Digi, how did you find this?"
Metal Man (GM): ...And the second goes to 'R&D 2--EXTREMELY TOP SECRET', which has a strange force field in front of it.
Deloth: "I don't recall this being mentioned..."
Metal Man (GM): No traces of Jigglypuff down here. Curious.
Digifanatic: "I just saw Jigglypuff come out of that door, and I've been wanting to speak to her ever since that match she was in versus Ganondorf."
Deloth heads over to the R&D 2 room's door, looking at the field.
Metal Man (GM): There's some other stuff laying around. Guns, swords, knives, etc. Weird.
Chancé: "Hmm..."
Metal Man (GM): The field glows once, and then a computer voice speaks up.
Chancé follows Deloth.
Digifanatic: "Just so I could ask her if she saw anything odd that maybe a casual fan or perhaps myself couldn't catch due to small detail."
Voice: "To enter R&D 2, you must answer a pre-programmed riddle. What goes up and never comes down?"
Chancé: "Age?"
Digifanatic: .oO(I so want to say taxes as a joke answer.)
Dragoshi: "I swear to god if it's "Your collective egos", I am gonna be pissed."
Voice: "Ding. Second question. What object shines only with light which is not its own, high in the sky?"
Chancé: "The moon."
Deloth: "...You're good."
Voice: "Ding, correct. Finally... what material has very high ductility?"
Dragoshi: *?
Digifanatic: "Metal, unless you demand a certain element."
Chancé: "This one is tricky... Duct Tape?"
Deloth: "Duct tape!"
Voice: "Correct." *BOOM!* The field turns green. Digi's answer was correct.
Dragoshi: *had the correct answer.
Deloth tries reaching through the field to the door...
Metal Man (GM): Chancé's hand bounces off. The field only allows certain things through...
Chancé attempts to pass though the force field and open the door.
Metal Man (GM): A table behind everyone piled with objects may hold the answer.
Deloth: *heads over to that, then.*
Dragoshi: *Said objects are?*
Metal Man (GM): There's a rapier, a sword, a machinegun, a glove, and a large card-shaped thing.
Chancé looks at the table behind him.
Digifanatic: *looks at the stuff as well... any Debarrier cubes? Guess not. Examines the card.*
Chancé: "Hun?"
Chancé looks at the card.
Digifanatic: Huh.*
Metal Man (GM): The card's got all sorts of weird writing on it and glows faintly when picked up. It's large, too. About the size of a bicycle.
Dragoshi: "Use the card...?"
Digifanatic: "Probably."
Chancé attempts to use the card on the door.
Metal Man (GM): The door is poked. The field repels it. However... Chancé's dex beeps when the card is grabbed and moved around. There's some weird display on the screen.
Digifanatic: *flips open his Dex.*'='
Dex: 'U?? c??? ?/n??"
Dragoshi: "Buh..?" *Looks at the dex.*
Chancé looks at his dex, holding the card with one hand.
Metal Man (GM): It's only on Chancé's. As he's holding the card.
Deloth wanders over and looks at that sword...
Digifanatic: *looks at Chancé's Dex and reads.* "Use card? Yes or no?"
Metal Man (GM): Seems like somebody didn't bother to finish whatever that was. But it's simple... Chancé has all the buttons of the alphabet, numbers, symbols, and he can talk to it.
Chancé: ""U-question-question c-question-question-question question slash n question question"?"
Metal Man (GM): That is, to respond to the strange question.
Digifanatic: "Yeah. As in if you want to use the card or not."
Chancé attempts to ask 'Is the first word use?'
Metal Man (GM): No response.
Chancé attempts to fill it in with use?
Metal Man (GM): It's glitched up. It itself can't tell. Chancé can't fill it in. It's a dialog, waiting for a response.
Chancé: "Erm... Hello?"
Dex: "Invalid response."
Metal Man (GM): One can pick up the sword. Though the dex's still acting funny in relation to the card.
Chancé: "Dragoshi, do you want to try something?"
Chancé types in 'help?'
Dragoshi: "Yea. As seeing you fumble around with it is getting... old." *the card.
Dex: "?@?1212!@513566912512551 !#% 13591asfOQEN!T#" It reverts to the previous message.
Metal Man (GM): Nobody has programmed in help yet.
Chancé: "Quiet Draggy-boy."
Dragoshi: "...Just give it to me."
Chancé passes the card to Dragoshi.
Digifanatic: "Try a yes or a no."
Dragoshi: *Takes it.*
Dragoshi's Dex: 'U?? c??? ?/n??"
Metal Man (GM): Chancé's dex reverts to normal.
Dragoshi: "Yes."
Deloth: "...Light side or dark side, that is the question..."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi's hand glows green. The card vanishes. The green matches the field. The handle to the door is on the other side of the field.
Dragoshi: "Huh..." *Puts hand through field to see if what he's thinking is right...*
Metal Man (GM): Hand goes through the field.
Chancé: "Hmm, so was it Use Card line break now? We may never know."
Deloth: *wrenches his attention away from the shiny new sword.* "Didja get it open?"
Dragoshi: *Now, Dragoshi reaches for the handle and tries to open the door.*
Metal Man (GM): The door opens.
Voice: "Clearance granted."
Metal Man (GM): The field drops. A hallway of sorts, ahead, is revealed.
Chancé: "Hmm, interesting."
Dragoshi: "Hm..."
Deloth: "...Cool." *Onward!*
Digifanatic: *mildly content.* "Alright..." *proceeds to walk in.*
Chancé follows after the sword fanatic.
Dragoshi: *Would slowly walk in and follow behind the others.*
Metal Man (GM): Power conduits about overhead, as everyone walks through a long underground tunnel full of steel boxes. The floor is a metallic grate. The Stadium's integral pieces are all around here.
Digifanatic: "Neat."
Metal Man (GM): The group reaches another scanner... this one's a full-body scanner, and blocks the way ahead. 'CLASS 2 AUTHORIZATION REQUIRED HERE' No other way ahead but through the narrow corridor, where it apparently scans fully anyone who enters. It has a computer screen, but no obvious terminal.
Chancé: "Hmm, we need a tester..."
Digifanatic: "I'm willing."
Chancé: "Go for it then."
Digifanatic: "Alright." *walks to the scanner and gets scanned.*
Scanner: "Class 1 Bioform. Access denied."
Metal Man (GM): The gate on the end of the device remains shut, barring entry.
Digifanatic: *walks back.* "Odd."
Chancé: "Hmm... Maybe one of the items on the table before can let us though?"
Deloth: "...Crap. We need to drug Metal and get his body in here. Does Dr. Mario have any sleeping pills? So. Sleeping pills?"
Metal Man (GM): Metal is missing. The scanner continues to block the way ahead.
Deloth tries the scanner, just for kicks.
Metal Man (GM): One wonders... what do they usually do when they walk through this thing, anyway? No effect.
Digifanatic: "I'm not sure if Metal's still on this planet, nevermind near here."
Metal Man (GM): The scan is done vertically, too.
Chancé: "Hmm..."
Deloth: "So Metal's not here?"
Dragoshi: "Yep."
Chancé: "Can't crash it... or it will stay locked... the only item I can think of that would help would be the glove... however... Hmm.."
Deloth heads back and grabs that sword, then.
Chancé looks at the screen.
Metal Man (GM): The screen says 'Access Control is activated; no authorized objects found.'
Chancé: "Objects?"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth bumps on a crate on his way back, noticing how light it is. He gets the sword and comes back. Objects, yes.
Deloth then goes back with the sword and tries the scanner again.
Metal Man (GM): Nada.
Chancé: "Just put the sword in?"
Deloth: "...Wait, lemme check something out..."
Deloth wanders back to that crate. He checks if it is closed.
Metal Man (GM): The crate is closed, but... It has a side which can be opened. A lid which can be slid open, even.
Dragoshi: *Goes back to get the glove, puts it on then heads back to the group. Because yes. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Glove is nice looking, but changes nothing. There's several other empty crates laying around. They must get discarded a lot.
Chancé: *remembers the card.* "Dragoshi, that glove is absolutely fabulous!"
Deloth opens her up and looks inside.
Metal Man (GM): Empty. Vaguely person-sized.
Dragoshi: *Opens up a crate as well... And tries to pull a Snake and get inside it.*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi gets inside it.
Chancé sees Deloth and...
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi can walk around with it on him. Weird. As long as he crouches.
Chancé: "I can't believe... if this works... I am going to shoot snake..."
Dragoshi: *Crouches and moves over to the scanner. While in the box.*
Chancé gets in a crate and walks towards the scanner.
Deloth grabs a crate, takes it over to the scanner, and puts it in.
Deloth: "Don't bother. I have plans for him."
Deloth pulls the inserted crate out and follows the others in the same method, feeling very stupid...
Digifanatic: *ditto Deloth and Dragoshi if there are still enough crates.*
Metal Man (GM): The group walks to the scanner. It begins to scan downwards.
Chancé drops down.
Metal Man (GM): There were enough crates for everyone to use them. A few moments later...
Scanner: "Authorized object detected: Class 2 crates. Access granted."
Metal Man (GM): The grate opens.
Chancé walks into the next room and rips off the stupid crate.
Dragoshi: *Continues moving along. In the box. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, it was configured to scan objects, based on their outside appearance... ...and naturally wasn't programmed to deal with self-moving crates. The Questers reach a third door, this one has an even more dire sign on it. 'ALL WHO INTRUDE PAST THIS POINT WILL BE DESTROYED' The door is secured by a very simple mechanism--a lock and key. It's a steel door, rather common.
Chancé: "Erm, if we are the Questers... we are not intruding..."
Dragoshi: "...This is way too obvious. Try to search for another entrance, everyone." >> *>_>
Chancé looks around the room.
Digifanatic: "We shouldn't be, at least."
Deloth gets rid of the crate and blinks at the new door.
Deloth: "Abandon all hope, ye who enter here... what a crock."
Digifanatic: "Hmm..." *looks to see what kind of keyhole it is... if it's in any special design or a generic ol' key.*
Deloth: "...I have an idea."
Digifanatic: "Got something to possibly pick the lock with?"
Deloth: "There was a rapier back on that table, right?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, you think it'll fit?"
Chancé: "Do you want to go back though a box?"
Deloth: "It's worth a shot."
Digifanatic: "Hey, it's plausible."
Chancé still looks around the room, getting a general feel of it.
Metal Man (GM): Dirt walls, lots of pipes and electrical wiring overhead.
Deloth grabs a box, hides, heads through the scanner, grabs the rapier from the table, gets back into the box--hell, you fill in the rest.
Dragoshi: *Still in the box. Because he has a feeling that this entrance is way too obvious. <_>*
Chancé walks around and knocks on a few of the dirt walls.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth has the rapier. The dirt walls are solid. Packed dirt, even.
Deloth first wraps the handle of the rapier with some electrical tape.
Chancé: ".. Hmm, could "intrude" mean if we force the lock?"
Metal Man (GM): No doormat.
Deloth: "...You have a point there."
Deloth reaches over and bangs on the door a few times with the handle of the rapier.
Deloth: "Candygram!"
Chancé does the generic anime fall.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth bangs on the door. The first touch pushes the door open.
Dragoshi: .oO(No one is stupid enough to fall for that!)
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, the lock was there to kill people who tried to force it.
Dragoshi: .oO(...I think. Eh.)
Chancé: "Was I right? Hmm, odd."
Chancé gets up and dusts himself off.
Deloth: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Whoever made this was most certainly crazy. Either way, another obstacle ahead: A wide, white room, with a brick wall blocking the way ahead.
Deloth just heads on in...
Metal Man (GM): And no way ahead, seemingly.
Chancé touches the brick wall.
Dragoshi: *Gets out of the box and follows the group.*
Digifanatic: *walks in, getting out of the crate but still hanging on to it.* "Well, hang on... Jigglypuff came into the room because she knew a hidden door we didn't..." *starts feeling out the brick wall to see if anything feels like it'll give way--or if his hand bumps into something like a handle.*
Deloth looks upwards.
Metal Man (GM): Digi bumps around, bump around some more... Aha! A door appears. ...Wait a minute... that's no door. It's a regular rectangular polygon. It's purple in appearance... ...It folds into the shape of a Fighting Polygon.
Dragoshi: "...Huh."
Deloth: "...Figures."
Digifanatic: *backs his hand off and turns to face it, though not menacingly.*
Chancé: "What did you do Digi?"
Digifanatic: "I was just looking to see if there was a door hidden in the wall."
Metal Man (GM): It moves to attack!
Deloth flings the rapier out of the room and wields the "borrowed" sword from the table.
Chancé: "If it is the only choice then.."
Digifanatic: "Well, might as well..."
Chancé: "Still, it would be nice if the enemy could speak."
Metal Man (GM): The Polygon stands at ready.
Chancé: "If the door does not open after this battle one of us should try singing."
Trigger: "Wha?!"
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh, geez, the one time I left my keytar in my room, all of a sudden...)
Dragoshi: *So, anyway to start his turn off, Dragoshi would start his turn off by simply breathing out a burst of reddish-orange flame at the Polygon.* (Firebreath)
Metal Man (GM): Hit. It is rather poor at dodging.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi would then walk over to the polygon, spread his arms out to to the side, then clap his hands together, which would causes a nasty blast of thundering electric force to come down and fry the polygon. Or try to.* (Thunder)
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi would then start swaying back and forth, waiting for the Polygon to do something.*
Deloth: "Man, this whole thing is nuts..." *races towards the Polygon and attempts to Final Cutter it into polygon kibble.*
Metal Man (GM): Interesting pun--the Final Cutter comes from an enemy named Sir Kibble. The Polygon tries to weakly step backwards. Hit, hit, miss.
Trigger then goes after Porygon with a couple well placed fireballs, then follows that up with an extreme tackle... with explosive results. (Red Fireball & Peach Bomber)
Metal Man (GM): Hit. Hit.
Digifanatic is going retro! Cue the cheesy 70s dance music!--I mean, he's using his original Brawl era moves. Cue a nice smack across the Fighting Polygon's head with a golf club! That should work.
Digifanatic: *Whiff!*
Metal Man (GM): Miss, Digi. He finally dodges.
Chancé seeing that the polygon is talking a beating reaches into the ground and hopes to pull out a certain vegetable to help things along.
Chancé plucks out a normal carrot from the ground. Alas, all well, it's time for the polygon to eat his vegetables! Superawesomehappyspecial carrot throw go!
Metal Man (GM): Chancé chucks it at the Polygon. It creates a giant shield in its left hand. The carrot is repelled. It then responds by leaping up and punching the ground, creating a large shockwave which threatens everyone!
Digifanatic: *Not a miracle can save him... he'll take it, tyvm.*
Deloth: "Crap!" *tries to jump over it.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit.
Deloth: *trip, splat.*
Dragoshi: *And, what does Dragoshi do? Well, he tries to time it right and jump over the shockwave. Though, I doubt it.*
Chancé: "Blarg... @_@."
Metal Man (GM): The Polygon then stands ready to continue the fight...
Trigger trys to time his dodge just right and...
Metal Man (GM): It's a super Polygon. Looks upgraded.
Dragoshi: *Anyway. Dragoshi readies the Plasma cutter, and... rapidly fires out 3 shots at the Polygon.*
Metal Man (GM): The Polygon laughs at Dragoshi and uses his shield to block. They ping off. The last one bounces off the center, though... HP. A card flies out and lands at Dragoshi's feet. Another green hand energy card, apparently.
Dragoshi: *Glances at the card, and picks it up.*
Deloth: "..." *blink-ku.*
Digifanatic: "Huh... there's no forcefield, though."
Trigger: "..."
Metal Man (GM): It can be freely handed off to anyone nearby without using an action, too.
Dragoshi: "Maybe... That shield is the field." *Dragoshi tosses the card to Del. Dragoshi would then wait it out...*
Deloth reaches up and catches the card with both hands. "Sweet."
Chancé runs over to the polygon and uses his parasol to drive his point into him.
Metal Man (GM): Chancé's parasol hits the middle of the shield. BZZZTTTTTTTTTTT. He takes damage. A card with a heart on it lands at his feet.
Chancé: "Weeeeee The shield makes things go *blargs.* Hmm? *picks it up.* What does this do?"
Deloth shakes his head and just aims a Fox Illusion at the Polygon.
Metal Man (GM): *PLONK!* Miss.
Chancé attempts to use his card.
Metal Man (GM): The card absorbs into Darkdata, healing damage from him. I guess luck wasn't entirely against him that time.
Chancé: "Wow... These cards are interesting!"
Metal Man (GM): It appears the shield is a part of some test mechanism involving these cards...
Deloth: *Okay, okay. Card used.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth glows green.
Digifanatic decides to do something different this turn... he gives Trigger one of those FF potions to finally see what they do. Then he balls up that fist and Fire Punches the Polygon in the chest!
Trigger snatches a potion. "Hmmm, what's this?"
Metal Man (GM): And what potion???? They weren't real.
Trigger snatches air. "Wow, thanks."
Metal Man (GM): Miss. Miss.
Digifanatic sighs and ends his turn.
Trigger decides to keep his distance from the polygon and starts firing fireballs at it.
Metal Man (GM): They bounce off the shield like they're not there. Clearly, brute force won't work. Except for the occasional ones which summon cards.
Trigger looks in amazement as he blocks his shots. "How do we kill this thing?!"
Deloth: "Well, hopefully I can do something, now that I've used that card..."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth continues glowing, as the Polygon spins the shield and fires a giant laser at Dragoshi.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi seeing the lasers knows that he has to simply try and do one thing- Crouch, then, in a display of not-even-trying-ness, do a sideways spinning jump to the side of it!*
Metal Man (GM): *ZAP!* Damage, plus stun! A weird bomb-card appears, but only at Dragoshi's feet. The glowingness appears to focus around Deloth's hands and feet. It appears to empower his attacks.
Dragoshi: *Picks it up, mutters.*
Deloth runs up, jumps, and tries a feet-first Stone Drop onto the Polygon!
Metal Man (GM): Deloth flies through the shield... And hit him upside the head. Neat.
Chancé: "Hmm... I should invest in a stronger umbrella.."
Deloth: *KONK!*
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi uses the bomb card. Not like he's taken enough insult and injury as is, so what the hell?*
Trigger trys blasting the polygon again but this time follows up the fireballs with running full speed and tackling him, hard.
Metal Man (GM): He blocks the fireballs. Trigger bonks his head on the shield... ...Gaining a green glowy card. The Polygon is nearly dead, now.
Bomb card: "E??o?. ??d ??rg?t. ?ry ?g??n."
Trigger: *Smack.* "Argh!! My head."
Dragoshi: "...Bad target? Okay... Maybe..." *Drago tries to use it again. This time on the annoying polygon guy.*
Metal Man (GM): Same error message. No good targets for it. It has an image of a door on it for some reason...
Dragoshi: *...Let's use it on the wall, then.*
Metal Man (GM): A massive explosion blows up the wall, killing the Polygon in the process.
Deloth: "Awesome!"
Chancé: "Wow... poor polygon."
Dragoshi: "There. finally. Now, why the fuck couldn't it have shown up sooner?"
Metal Man (GM): In the debris everyone sees a new card in the shape of a shield, and a tunnel with stairs going up.
Dragoshi: *Takes that.*
Deloth picks up the card, looking it--bah. Just continues on, then.
Dragoshi: *Moving on.*
Digifanatic: "Sweet, we're outta this mess..." *follows.*
Chancé follows.
Trigger follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk up the stairs and then into a lab... hmmmmm... this one's the most top secret one. Jigglypuff isn't here, either.
Deloth looks around at the stuff in here.
Dragoshi: *So, what's in this here, place, anyway?*
Metal Man (GM): Instead... Dr. Light.
Deloth: "...This couldn't have been on the approved buil--uh-oh."
Metal Man (GM): The group sees a new, shinier Fighter remote, Dr. Light, and a number of machines around. Kuja technology. Not Magitek, strangely.
Dr. Light: "Are you telling me you just walked by all the security devices without being remotely stopped????"
Chancé: "Santa?"
Dragoshi: "Actually, the polygon was a bit of a threat, Light, but a wall collapsed on it."
Dr. Light: "No, no. I am... Dr. Light. I moved my work here, for it was to be top secret... I was about to show you it, but... here you are!"
Dragoshi: "Blame the bomb-shaped card." >_>;;
Dr. Light: "...How convenient. You're already somewhat familiar with it already..."
Deloth: "...Wait, what?"
Trigger: "With what? Those cards?"
Dragoshi: "Yea. We've used it to take out a green field and to defeat that polygon and move on to this place."
Dr. Light: "I was reviewing your missions, and realized our fighter remote, which was a facsimile of the original one, was simply out of date. Metal Man, apparently, destroyed the original to prevent its strange reality-warping prospects from returning... so I had to make a new one so you could fight the stronger opponents which have just begun appearing. Of course... I hit a snag."
Digifanatic: "Oh?"
Dragoshi: "Said snag, being?"
Chancé: "Hmm?"
Trigger: "How bad of a snag?"
Dr. Light: "Well, I'm afraid my expertise on more... military applications is somewhat flawed. In that regard my rival, Dr. Wily, is vastly superior... something that I don't feel at all ashamed of, personally. Actually, I had help from a man you all should remember well. He was very willing to contribute his knowledge, expertise, and money to developing this remote."
Deloth: "And that man is..."
Dr. Light: "Well, you'd know him pretty well. Kuja."
Deloth: "..."
Digifanatic: "What?!"
Dragoshi: "...Really?"
Deloth: "...You've got to be kidding."
Digifanatic: "Is this a result of the post-Void purification?"
Dragoshi: "...What the heck."
Deloth: "Kuja would blow the Stadium up, not help you build a remote."
Dr. Light: "No. In fact, it was his work which made that bomb and potion work. Which, apparently, saved you from my improved model of the Fighting Polygon."
Dragoshi: "And the field-piercing cards, too?"
Dr. Light: "I helped develop those--it is very versatile, you see."
Dragoshi: "I've noticed."
Digifanatic: "Doctor?"
Dr. Light: "Kuja contacted me a while after the Questers were disbanded. He responded to a message we sent earlier..."
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Dr. Light: "That is, that we needed any remnants of the original remote possible."
Deloth: "WHY would Kuja help us?"
Dr. Light: "He stole one of Metal's copies, and at the same time, knew its flaws. He gave us an improved version, mentioning his reason why..."
Chancé: "So why are the cards semi-corrupted then?"
Dr. Light: "Oh. Well, they weren't ready for use when you picked them up. I'm still working on them."
Digifanatic: "Ah... well, so far, I like it."
Dr. Light: "Kuja said he wanted to 'bet on the winning team', claiming that you had already helped avert a catastrophe he'd predicted would happen when he was God-like."
Digifanatic: "As long as Kuja doesn't switch sides on us, I'm all for this."
Dragoshi: "The Time Catastrophe?"
Dr. Light: "Even though he never looked this far into the future, he acted as if there was something else on the horizon, which you would require this sort of help to defeat."
Dragoshi: "Or whatever it was called..."
Dr. Light: "Kuja himself is unable to enter our realm, due to protocols you already know about."
Deloth: "...Can't we get any rest?"
Dr. Light: "Even if he switched sides, this remote... is firmly out of range of the one place where he can talk to us."
Digifanatic: "Ah, yes... wait. How could you contact him?"
Dragoshi: "Yea... How?"
Dr. Light: "A weird signal in outer space, overhead this hub realm. It's very, very faint. In fact, he had to send me the blueprints--I made this."
Deloth: "So what'll these cards do exactly when they're finished?"
Dr. Light: "Almost anything. Oh, I almost forgot. The other thing the remote does... Is unlock your true powers."
Dragoshi: "True powers...?"
Dr. Light: "Metal Man's prototype did the same, but it accelerated them constantly. That could have killed the original Questers, had The Void not fed them energy. You shall have your own attacks as the Smashers do."
Deloth: "...Wow."
Dragoshi: "Ah. Good. That means I can use Gravity Well, Ice Tornado, and the like again, correct?"
Chancé: "So I can drop using that horrid bow?"
Digifanatic: "Hmm..."
Dr. Light: "Yes."
Chancé: "Wonderful!"
Dr. Light: "It's almost done, in fact..." He turns it on. You glow...
Metal Man (GM): *Metroid ability gain fanfare.*
Digifanatic: "As much as I have been able to adapt my... elements, so to say, to the Fighter Remote, I do like having this sort of freedom."
Metal Man (GM): Original Abilities Recovered.
Dr. Light: "The cards aren't quite as done, so bear with me..." He looks at the remote. "Uh... oh."
Dragoshi: *Hooray! Now if only he could fly again...* "Hmm?"
Dr. Light: "The built-in cell phone says that I've got a message..."
Dragoshi: "From who?"
Deloth: "From who? Jinx."
Dragoshi: "Jinx. Jinx again."
Dr. Light: "Something fishy happened with a battle involving Ganondorf! And Jigglypuff has dissappeared! It's... from Snake."
Digifanatic: "I knew it."
Dr. Light: "You guys should investigate that. I'll complete the cards while you do. Oh... and thanks for the research."
Digifanatic: "Oh, no problem, Doc!"
Dragoshi: "No prob."
Dr. Light: "Now, this should get you right to the arena, quickly." He punches a button: Stairs which go up lower down.
Deloth: "No problem. We'll know how to use the cards now, too."
Dr. Light: "I'll hand you some cards again if you get in trouble."
Deloth gives a quick salute and runs down the stairs.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi quickly zooms over to the stairs.* "'Kay, thanks."
