Dates: December 21st and 22nd, 2007.
Trivia: I had just finished moving the site from Siterise to Dreamhost as of this log.
Metal Man (GM): Questers are at HQ. All is normal. It is a sunny afternoon at 3:00 PM. Nothing to report except for the mysterious appearance of Christmas decorations. Metal Man is scanning the weird disc he found. Professor Oak is maintaining the defenses.
Deloth: *studying up on Cure again...*
Metal Man (GM): The door to the jail area is conspicuously open.
Valentine Kilmer: "..." *She just reads her mechanical book in silence. She seems to be caught up in it rather deeply.*
Aribar is wandering the halls, his head plastered to his own book...*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would see the rather conspicuous open jail door in his journey. It looks to have been broken.
Aribar walks right into the door, muttering something under his breath. For the first time in hours, the elf looks up... And notices something very bad.*
Valentine Kilmer: "Seems the realm has collected the western earth style of celebrating this holiday. How interesting." *She looked up at the tree she was hovering next time, only to plant it back into the book.*
Aribar: "Ten coins says someone didn't break into the jail.."
Aribar closes his book, tucks it under his arm, and takes a stroll into the jail...*
Metal Man (GM): The tree itself is somewhat technological, as the lights on it are LED, and everything is high-tech. Must be Dr. Light's doing. Or perhaps Dr. Carrol's, they're both vaguely Earth-related. Aribar would walk in, seeing both the cells for Trent Easton and Grodus blasted wide open. By something nobody heard... how interesting. They must have walked right out the front door. But what technology would make them that hard to notice?
Aribar: "... Interesting."
Valentine Kilmer: "Reminds me of when the Major from back home. A pity contact with her isn't optional... No matter. Seems quiet today." *She ponders if she should look around the area. Then she remembers that she might run into a Quester easily, so she goes back to reason.*
Aribar calmly takes out his Dex and calls for Metal.* "Excuse me, Metal, but there is a high-scale emergency on our hands. You've a minute? It appears as if Easton and Grodus have... Magically disappeared without us knowing."
Metal Man (GM): (Dex) "A minute? Well, yes... ...hmmm... that is bad. I'll be there in a moment. Metal out." *End transmission.*
Aribar whistles a tune, seemingly perfectly calm. At least on the outside. On the inside he's pretty much going crazy since it took a good bit of effort to catch them..*
Metal Man (GM): Metal walks down, past Val, and probably by Deloth's room. He reaches the jail and looks... rubbing his chin.
Metal Man: "That's mighty strange, why didn't SIMBER notice? SIMBER? ..." *Crosses arms* "SIMBER!"
Metal Man (GM): Nothing.
Aribar: "... That's... Bad."
Deloth: *Wouldn't really notice... he's studying hard. Besides, the Santa hat makes it hard to see, thank you very much.*
Metal Man: "Hmmm..."
Metal Man takes out a wrench and wanders to the side... "Ahah! Come here, Aribar."
Valentine Kilmer: "..." *She had followed Metal Man when he passed by her, now just watching in silence for the moment.*
Aribar walks over to Metal.* "Found out how they managed to escape our highly penetrable fortress?"
Metal Man: "Easy. I forgot about one important fact. Grodus is a machine. Trent Easton is a maniac. Grodus alone wouldn't have thought to damage SIMBER's systems."
Aribar: "That's two."
Metal Man: "Trent Easton likes property damage."
Valentine Kilmer: "That doesn't explain anything."
Metal Man: "Grodus has a closed mind... Trent Easton must have told him to do it. Because..." *Bumps into wall.*
Metal Man (GM): A note falls down. Written in Grodus' hand.
Grodus: (Note) "I finally figured out how your encryption routines work. Gaack-aack-aaack-aaaack!!!"
Digifanatic: *walks in* "Oh, man, this is the kind of property damage I don't like hearing about..."
Metal Man: "Wrong again, huh."
Metal Man straightens up.
Metal Man: "Well, the good part is that SIMBER was simply turned off. Turning his projector back on should give us information. Right?"
Aribar: "Hooopefully."
Digifanatic: "Unless he got hacked into while he was out."
Metal Man: "Many things could have been done. Think I should turn it on now?"
Digifanatic: "Which, if that happened, we just have to either fix what got hacked, or hopefully, we've got a backup of his info."
Valentine Kilmer: "Ever think of turning that machine off when you captured it?"
Aribar: "Worst case scenario is that he's now malevolent and will eat us for breakfast."
Digifanatic: "Well, I say turn it on. But don't go on my opinion alone."
Metal Man: "Wait a minute... Digifanatic telling me to turn a device on... The same one who blew up the big important device by blowing up the one under it..."
Digifanatic: "That's why I said wait."
Metal Man backs away from the device like it's a time bomb.
Metal Man: "I'm not touchin' that until it's been gone through, if Digi tells me to turn it on!"
Digifanatic: "Geez, one mistake and you start acting paranoid...man."
Metal Man: "Well, I just like not being exploded. OOooooaaaaaaak!!!!!"
Digifanatic: "I'm even telling you to wait and listen to what others think and..."
Aribar jokingly takes a step away from Digi.
Digifanatic: "Don't, don't, don't. I'm waiting for the others myself!"
Metal Man (GM): Professor Oak runs in, breathless. He then stands up and breathes some.
Professor Oak: "What is it now? Has your desk been moved slightly off kilter?"
Aribar: "Eh, the worst case scenario is that Oak runs in and tells us that SIMBER's evil... Or something... I say do it. Or listen to what the good Professor has to say!" *Looks to Oak.*
Metal Man: "No, no. SIMBER's been tampered with. You have all the information about that. Do your thing."
Professor Oak: "I'm a Pokémon researcher, not a computer scientist!"
Valentine Kilmer: "It's no surprise if Metal Man's desk moved on it's own anyways."
Metal Man: "Same diff." *Smack* "Computer fix now!"
Professor Oak: "Ow! Fine... fine... at least I get paid well..."
Deloth: *peering out of his room* "Gee, what's all the shouting about?"
Metal Man (GM): Professor Oak chucks a pokéball at the ground. Out comes a weird blueish Porygon.
Valentine Kilmer: "Wouldn't it have been easier to call Dr. Light, Metal?"
Professor Oak: "Because I'm not actually a computer scientist, I shall have Porygon scan the device for viruses. Of course, you ever-so-helpfully hurled this backup at me the other day, so it shouldn't be a problem..."
Metal Man: "Yeah, but Dr. Light doesn't respond to loud yelling. And then he charges me for all the weird parts he uses. And then... then he goes on vacation at random days."
Aribar takes some steps away from the Porygon.* "That one isn't going to shock us to death ala Pikachu... Right?"
Metal Man: "Something about rogue robots destroying the world."
Valentine Kilmer: "...Why do I even bother advising?"
Professor Oak: "Well, it does know Zap Cannon..." He chuckles. "If it was going to zap anything, it'd be that device, not you."
Deloth: "...Hrm." *slaps the book down on his desk and goes to investigate.*
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Metal Man (GM): The Porygon makes digital noises and scans the device. Several computerized ! marks appear over its head.
Professor Oak: "Hmmm... good thing you called me... according to Porygon, it was programmed to holo-room holograms come to life and attack people."
Valentine Kilmer: ".." *She hovers behind Metal Man as if using him as a shield.*
Professor Oak: "Somehow, being attacked by a holographic version of myself wouldn't have made my day."
Metal Man: "Okay, so what do we do?"
Deloth: "So can you wipe 'em out?"
Professor Oak: "Restore the backup."
Digifanatic: "Huh, that's what I had thought we'd have to do..."
Metal Man (GM): He hands a backup tape to the Porygon, which inserts it into the machine and makes more noises. Within a few moments, the normal SIMBER appears. No evil holograms.
Digifanatic: "Now that's more like it."
SIMBER: "...Hm... so that is why I shouldn't taunt strange robots..." "You may have had to discard most data taken after this backup, however I have a piece of useful information for you. Grodus bragged about 'going to Viridian City' after he fled. He sang this most awful song about it..."
Digifanatic: "Viridian? Sounds like a plan."
SIMBER: "I think he went insane from being stuck in the prison."
Deloth: "Sounds more like a trap to me."
SIMBER: "Trent Easton followed him, and of course, they used some strange device which made them invisible... and something else I couldn't notice as Grodus remembered to knock me out with viruses at that moment."
Metal Man: "Okay then... what do you guys feel like doing? I think he's in Viridian, if nothing else because singing about it would be more effort than I see most enemies use..."
Digifanatic: "Hmm...any way we can check up on Viridian at the moment just to make sure it's not a trap?"
Oak: "I shall be going now... I do know that Viridian City is a strange place for them to go to, though it does have its charms..." He wanders off.
Metal Man: "Viridian City is a perfectly normal City as far as I can tell. I see nothing odd on the long-range scan."
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Deloth shakes his head, bouncing the Santa hat from side to side. "What's IN Viridian City that's so appealing to them, anyways?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Is it his city?"
Metal Man: "His? No. It's a normal city... it's nearby, there's a pipe outside which leads to it even. The hub area of the Pokémon world."
Valentine Kilmer: "So the two are from the same world."
Deloth: "So they either have a sinister plan or they're idiots. Noted."
Metal Man: "The two? No... one is from Mario's world, and the other is from a very strange world we've only seen once. That is, Grodus and Trent Easton."
Valentine Kilmer: "I referred to Oak and the city."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Those two go hand in hand."
Valentine Kilmer: "Then I wish to hear the secrets of the city from him."
Aribar: "Well, if we're going to there... Maybe they just chose an odd place to lie low for a while."
Metal Man: "Oak and the city are from the same world, yes. Oak's in his lab, you can ask him. Better hurry, though--the warp room is open to there, and we may not have much time left."
Valentine Kilmer: "It's for you two. I hope you don't think I'm cleaning up another quester mess."
Deloth: *glaring at Val* "Guess who's getting a dead rat in her stocking?"
Aribar shrugs, believing they deserve that slight for something. The elf hurries to get his belongings and enter the warp room.
Digifanatic: *makes sure he has his stuff and heads in the warp.*
Deloth: *Warp room, ahoy!*
Valentine Kilmer: "...Then again, you might blow something up again that's vital. I best overview this." *She first visits Oak's lab.*
Metal Man (GM): Oak is there, currently reviewing the virus data that was found.
Oak: "Ah! Somebody who isn't Metal Man. What can I do for you?"
Valentine Kilmer: "I'm glad you think so. I need a map of Viridian City and any hidden information involving the secrets of the city."
Oak: "It's... not particularly filled with secrets." *He hands a small map to Val* "The gym leader is Gary Oak, who, yes, is related to me. Though he fights Pokémon for the thrill of it, and doesn't really think with his heart. Besides that, there's a shop, an old man who likes coffee, and a pokémon center."
Valentine Kilmer: "Gary Oak, huh? I shall remember that. Thank you, Doctor." *She takes the map and leaves without another word and into the warp.*
Metal Man (GM): *WARP.* You appear in the middle of Viridian City. You see a pokémon center, a market, an old man blocking the road up ahead, a large gym too. Yes, Digi. You don't see Grodus or Trent Easton. Maybe the old man knows.
Aribar: "Wow. I was... Expecting something a bit bigger."
Deloth heads over to him. "Excuse me, have you seen a man with a gumball machine dome for a head and someone else packing enough weaponry to destroy three countries?"
Metal Man (GM): The school is locked; it's the holiday season.
Old Man: "Sure. Do you know how to catch Pokémon?"
Deloth: "...No."
Old Man: "Okay, I'll show you how!"
Valentine Kilmer: "We're not here to learn that."
Deloth: "But I just wanted to know if--"
Metal Man (GM): All of reality flashes in the town. Then the Old Man teleports into a 2D plane.
Aribar follows Deloth to the old man, wondering... Why it suddenly got flat.*
Metal Man (GM): You then see him explain how to catch a Weedle. He then morphs back.
Old Man: "Additionally, the strange people you are looking for took to hiding in the school."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth has a strange aura surrounding him from having been near the old man.
Deloth: "..." *looks at said aura...*
Metal Man (GM): It's an aura which makes you feel like you're in a strange nonexistent plane, and the only thing keeping you here is some strange energy.
Valentine Kilmer: "Couldn't just stay and read." *She sighs and looks over at Deloth as well.*
Digifanatic: "That's odd."
Deloth: "Okaaaaaay..."
Aribar: "Thank you, sir." *Starts towards the school... Then notices Deloth.*
Deloth: *heads for the school.*
Digifanatic: *follows.*
Metal Man (GM): The school is currently locked shut.
Aribar just shrugs, thinking he's been reading too much. The elf follows the others to the school.*
Digifanatic: *looks for windows, signs from Grodus, etc.*
Deloth rears back and Bomb Kicks the door. Take THAT, building of evil! Ha-ha!
Metal Man (GM): The windows have blinds over them and are locked.
Valentine Kilmer: "They're probably expecting us as well." *She now hovers behind the group.*
Metal Man (GM): A strange force prevents the door from being damaged... ...But Deloth's zero-point energy field causes him to fly THROUGH the door.
Digifanatic: .oO(This is just...like...)
Deloth: *Okay! Thanks, game-wrecking glitches!*
Valentine Kilmer: "...And you questers learn never to touch things at random?"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth would enter the school, only to discover that Grodus and Trent Easton must have moved on. But they left a clue: A pile of keys. Mainly, one big key in the pile... to the gym.
Deloth checks the room for traps, 'cause SERIOUSLY, this is way too easy.
Metal Man (GM): None. The door was apparently indestructible... ...And you just flew through it.
Deloth: "...Well, whatever, then."
Metal Man (GM): Sometimes you get lucky.
Aribar: "... I... Think that we shouldn't condone the destruction of public property.."
Deloth grabs the key and wonders how he's going to get out...
Metal Man (GM): There is no damage to the door. Deloth flew through it. Like it wasn't there.
Aribar blinks, looking at the door...* "Huh. A man-eating school."
Deloth takes another running leap at the door, key in hand...
Valentine Kilmer: "...I get the winning group this week."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth emerges through the door, with the key. He also has a chair mysteriously floating above his head. Must be a side-effect.
Deloth reaches up, grabs the chair, and attempts to drop it back onto the street.
Digifanatic: "Nice. Wish I knew what building the keys were for if they're not for this school."
Aribar takes numerous steps away from Deloth.* "I detect anti-reality..."
Metal Man (GM): The chair is incorporeal. It's stuck there.
Deloth: "...Great."
Metal Man (GM): Interestingly, the old man is gone. He must have known what his little demonstration would have done to Deloth.
Valentine Kilmer: "You call him Metal Man, Aribar."
Deloth heads for the gym...
Metal Man (GM): The localized hole in reality that is Deloth walks through a fence and to the gym's door. Of course, you can walk around the fence to get to the door too.
Valentine Kilmer: *She looks at Deloth for a minute, then follows as well. Stopping at the gate.*
Deloth: "My question is, what the heck was that old guy over there doing in his spare time?"
Digifanatic: *follows Val's idea for now...*
Aribar ... Takes the reality-abiding way to the Gym.*
Deloth jabs the key in and unlocks the door.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth has a problem: His hand is now also incorporeal. The key does not obey the movements of his hand. However his hand goes through the door. Somebody else will have to get the door.
Digifanatic: "Deloth, may I please take the key?"
Valentine Kilmer: "I think you better wait, Deloth."
Deloth: "Well, key's in the lock, so..." *just walks in via incorporeality or some other Flash Gordon mumbo-jumbo.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth floats in, taking the key with him.
Digifanatic: "Wait, Deloth, back up..."
Aribar: "Eh, if they aren't there, at least Del saves us the trouble of going inside... Since... He took the key... Hm."
Digifanatic: "Make sure the key's in the lock..."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth hears them mumbling. The key is still following you.
Digifanatic walks up the door and knocks on it...
Metal Man (GM): The key is not in the lock. It didn't even move when Deloth tried to put it in the lock.
Valentine Kilmer: "Let's wait out here. Deloth seems to be moving on his own, so let him figure this out."
Metal Man (GM): Inside: One would see only Gary Oak, who seems confused. He would speak at Deloth.
Gary Oak: "How did you get in here without the... keys???"
Valentine Kilmer: "I have an idea. Let's go to this pokémon center."
Metal Man (GM): The pokémon center is open for business and only a few steps away. It has a red roof and white walls. Weird.
Digifanatic: "Hmm...what are you thinking, Valentine?"
Aribar: "Eh... Leave Del to his own designs? ... Can't hurt too much I suppose. Plus, it's not like there's anywhere else to check in this place."
Valentine Kilmer: "It's best to keep unsure ideas to yourself so false leads and rumors never spread." *She hovers her way to the Pokémon conter.*
Digifanatic: "Ah. Well, better to aid her in case something odd happens." *heads to the center.*
Metal Man (GM): The pokémon center has inside it a Nurse, the local 'Nurse Joy'. Otherwise, it is empty.
Digifanatic: *opens the door for Val and would follow her in whenever she heads inside.*
Aribar belatedly follows.
Nurse: "Hello... are you new to this town?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Yes. Just visiting for today."
Digifanatic: *nods.*
Nurse: "Hm. Let me guess... did one of you talk to that old man by the road?"
Valentine Kilmer: "What happens when one does?"
Nurse: "He's an elemental from another dimension who appears to be an old man in this dimension. All sucked into his void of Pokémon catching will eventually become like him--incorporeal and possessing of infinite items. But humans can't take it... so they become this thing called the "Missingno." Additionally, people who are under the effects of it are often attacked by MissingNo..."
Deloth: "...Right, uh, did you see two guys come through here? One with a blinking gumball machine dome for a head and one with more guns than an NRA convention?"
Aribar: "That's... Interesting."
Digifanatic: "Weird...the guy that spoke to him isn't really human..."
Gary Oak: "Ah, yes. I saw them go inside the item store. The guy in there knows, just mention to him Gary Oak sent you."
Digifanatic: "Ever hear any accounts of non-humans talking to the old man?"
Deloth: "Okay, thanks." *heads out and to the item store.*
Nurse: "Two people spoke to him and then vanished into another reality. I would believe they probably knew of his powers."
Aribar blinks...* "Uh... What did the two people look like?"
Nurse: "Both about as tall as you are... one wore a protective dome... the other threatened the man with a gun the size of a small computer..."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth reaches the item store. The man in there is busy attending to the cash register.
Deloth: "Uh... excuse me, but Gary Oak sent me. Have you seen a guy with a big dome on his head and another guy with nearly every high-caliber weapon imaginable in his possession?"
Aribar: "That's... Oh piffle."
Nurse: "The Old Man phases in and out of reality. You might want to talk to him... just ignore any offers of Pokémon catching. It's a secret codeword for 'I'm an elemental trapped in this dimension against my will.'"
Metal Man (GM): The Market man gets a strange smile on his face as the door shuts to the item store. He laughs, materializing as none other than Grodus.
Grodus: "It is you who have fallen into our trap, boy! Gaack-aack-aaack! But rather than let you send your friends after us... Take THIS!"
Metal Man (GM): Grodus fires his wand. Deloth is sent to another dimension.
Deloth: "...Oh dear." *VOIP.*
Aribar: "That's intriguing..."
Metal Man (GM): His only miscalculation is that it also blows up the Item store. Grodus turns invisible and vanishes. *BBOOOOOM.*
Nurse: "Oh, dear... that was the item store..."
Aribar: "And that's explosive." *Looks about, wondering what happened.*
Digifanatic: "Huh."
Nurse: "I can't leave my post. You're going to need to check it yourselves... Perhaps your friends were up to something." She looks confused. "This isn't usually such a big problem here... the Old Man's magic rarely causes explosions."
Digifanatic: "Huh... Alright, folks. Nothing else to really do..."
Aribar: "... Rarely." *Puts a hand on the hilt of his sword and steps outside.*
Digifanatic: *heads on out.*
Metal Man (GM): The item store has been demolished. All that remains is one of Deloth's shoes.
Digifanatic: "Man, oh maaaannn...wait a sec--is that one of...?"
Valentine Kilmer: "MissingNo... Alright Nurse. Thank you for the information." *She hovers outside.*
Digifanatic: "Did he get...vaporized or something?"
Dex: "High concentration of inter-dimensional energies. Unknown source."
Valentine Kilmer: "So Deloth got into trouble again?"
Dex: "Or possibly vaporized."
Metal Man (GM): Oh... you also see the keys to the gym on the ground.
Digifanatic: "Something...but man, that just..."
Aribar: "If I were to guess, I would say this is bad for the stability of reality. It appears so, miss Kilmer."
Dex: "Reality remains stable. However it stayed stable at the expense of destroying an entire building."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Should we check the gym? I mean, the key got left here..."
Dex: "Deloth was last seen near the gym."
Digifanatic: "Well, it seems like it's the most logical thing to do."
Aribar: "Okay, no more splitting up. Don't want to end up like Del..."
Aribar tries to quickly search through the remains of the item shop to see if there are any clues as to what happened.*
Digifanatic: .oO(Huh...I wonder if Gary saw what happened.)
Metal Man (GM): You see a strange circular crater where Deloth was standing. Everything else has stress cracks in it, like reality bent or flexed as a result of the attack.
Valentine Kilmer: "And no talking with anyone else. Just the Nurse, Gary Oak and the two we're trying to find."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. Let's talk to Gary." *picks up the key and is ready to walk to the gym.* "Sounds good?"
Aribar frowns, looking at the spot where Deloth was... He tries scanning it.* "Wait a tick... I found an odd spot."
Digifanatic: "Sure."
Aribar: "Everywhere else sort of looks like a normal explosion, but right here... It looks... Stretched or... Something. It's weird."
Valentine Kilmer: "Dex Scan it."
Dex: "Unknown energies. High level dimensional knowledge was used here. The energy indicates a tear in dimensional fabric that self-healed."
Valentine Kilmer: "Deloth could have possible be sent through there."
Aribar: "A tear in... Hrm... Maybe we should talk to that old man... Get some information from him."
Valentine Kilmer: "No. He teaches pokémon catching."
Dex: "I am also picking up high-level electromagnetic distortion energy. It is a moving signature of sorts."
Aribar: "Grodus?"
Valentine Kilmer: "...It all makes sense."
Dex: "Unknown. The energy obscures all identity scanners."
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Aribar: "What makes sense now?"
Metal Man (GM): Either way, you're definitely sure that the gym might have information, as this all happened after Deloth went there.
Valentine Kilmer: "The old man is off limits for now. Unless you want to end up like Deloth. Is the gym unlocked still?"
Digifanatic: "Well, if we have the key, it will be."
Dex: "Negative, Deloth flew through the door. The key is right here though."
Metal Man (GM): Indeed, it is. You may proceed with the keys.
Aribar blinks and realizes something quite simple. He tries to contact Deloth via the Smash dex.*
Dex: "Out of range."
Digifanatic: "Well, let's talk to Gary." *already has the key, so on we go to the gym.*
Metal Man (GM): You go to the gym and open the door. Gary scratches his head.
Aribar: "Hm..." *Just follows the others then.*
Valentine Kilmer: "It could be a trap as well, so be careful."
Gary Oak: "I didn't know there were more of you... ...how can I help you?"
Aribar: "More? So you saw a reality-breaking half-dragon recently?"
Digifanatic: "Well, how can we put it? Yeah..."
Valentine Kilmer: "Please do not group me with them. Anyways, so you did see someone else. Who did you see?"
Gary Oak: "Some kid who flew through the door. The old man must have tricked him. Are you looking for people like he was?"
Digifanatic: "Well, perhaps...have any where that gumball-head dude and his buddy went?"
Gary Oak: "Yes... yes. Just go talk to the trainer just down the road and tell him that Gary Oak sent ya."
Valentine Kilmer: "And a way to reverse what the old man did to the other."
Gary Oak: "Nurse Joy knows how to reverse it... I've seen enough poor kids get hit by it. We've tried all sorts of things to make that man-thing leave, but he's apparently stuck."
Aribar: "So... Viridian City... Interesting place to live? I mean, it must be with interdimensional... old men.."
Gary Oak: "Indeed... it is a very interesting place to live."
Valentine Kilmer: "I'll note this on the map as well... Let's go see Nurse Joy first."
Gary Oak: "Good luck..."
Digifanatic: "Alright. Thank you, Gary."
Aribar: "Thanks." *Waits until the others are ready and starts towards the center.*
Valentine Kilmer: "By the way... How are you related to Dr. Oak?"
Gary Oak: "Uhhh... I am his Nephew... yeah."
Valentine Kilmer: "Good enough." *She hovers away.*
Digifanatic: *heads out.*
Metal Man (GM): You head out to the pokémon center. Nurse Joy sees you come in.
Nurse: "So... what happened?"
Digifanatic: "Gary says you can reverse that inter-dimensional syndrome our friend has."
Aribar: "Who... Went into another dimension."
Nurse: "...Well, I can, but if he's in another dimension, I can't help him... say... did Gary taunt you like he usually does? You seem... strangely unbothered."
Valentine Kilmer: "Of course. Someone hand me a Dex."
Aribar: "Uhh... Nope. He even wished us luck." *Hands his own to Val.*
Dex: "Input command at will, unknown User 1592."
Nurse Joy: "... He's always been a jerk since I've known him. The one I know would have either thrown you out for not having any Pokémon or laughed at you."
Aribar: "Eh, he seemed tired of people being harmed by the old man. Maybe it was just an off day for him.."
Nurse Joy: "Maybe..."
Valentine Kilmer: "Unknown doesn't sound have bad. Put Dr. Oak through."
Valentine Kilmer: *half.
Oak: (Dex) "Hello. Did something bad happen again? You know, E Li Three doesn't carry spare Questers either..."
Aribar: "Oooor... Gary isn't actually there and it's the old man? For some inexplicable reason? I don't remember seeing him..."
Nurse Joy: "I guess it's possible, but Gary doesn't usually let the Old Man get close to him."
Aribar: "Okay... We really aren't getting anything done just standing about.."
Nurse Joy: "Perhaps you should investigate this a bit further? It looks like you've noticed something, at least... ..too bad we don't have any construction workers or police for miles..."
Aribar: "I'm going to... Break my own guideline of not splitting up and see what's up with Gary."
Aribar leaves the busy Valentine for the gym.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar reaches the gym. Gary seems confused.
Gary Oak: "Hm? Did you forget something?"
Aribar: "Just a question... A rather odd one."
Valentine Kilmer: "Questers come and go. Anyways, Dr. Oak, What is Gary to you? Relationship wise?"
Aribar: "Are you really Gary Oak?"
Oak: (Dex) "A bit distant... he is, err, my Grandson, I think. Why do you ask?"
Gary Oak: "Of course I am. What else could I be?"
Aribar: "Someone who can blow up buildings or cause dimensional chaos... Just a thought."
Valentine Kilmer: "Just curious. Have Metal Man figure out a way to get Deloth back to this realm is you would."
Gary Oak: "How'd I do that from in here?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Nurse. Please see the old man is seal somewhere safe." *She then leaves for the Gym.*
Professor Oak: "Sure thing... wait... he went to another realm? Hm." *Transmission ends.*
Nurse: "I'll... try."
Metal Man (GM): Val enters the gym.
Valentine Kilmer: *She hops onto her platform, now stand on it with her rifle seemingly ready to fire at a given moment.* "Gary Oak?"
Gary Oak: "I'm right here..."
Metal Man (GM): Digi would be with the group. Julian can warp in whenever.
Valentine Kilmer: "I would prefer the real one, however, You can come with us to. Into the cell you belong in."
Aribar blinks, looking at Val and then to Gary... And then back again.*
Aribar: "So he ISN'T Gary... Right?"
Gary Oak: "But how would you arrest me?" He morphs into the old man. "I am a weird interdimensional being."
Valentine Kilmer: "Are you now?"
Old Man: "And the real one... I don't recall seeing him. Perhaps he left and you're inside a gym that'd otherwise be unlocked... except for the fact Deloth was cursed by me. Er, locked."
Valentine Kilmer: "Now I would like you to return him."
Old Man: "I don't have him with me, and I cannot be handled by you, corporeal being."
Digifanatic: *whispering to Ari and Valentine* "Think we can have the Nurse help us with this? That whole reversal thing..."
Old Man: "Furthermore, you cannot catch me when I do this."
Aribar: "You... Don't have him with you? Then... Wait!"
Metal Man (GM): He turns invisible and vanishes.
Dex: "Unknown energy signature went through the wall."
Aribar: "We don't want to hurt you..."
Metal Man (GM): The real Gary Oak falls down, having been hidden behind a stack of lego-like bricks. He has a gag and is tied up. He squirms angrily.
Aribar: "Keep a track on it, Dex! I'll try to keep the old man from getting away... Somehow." *Rushes back outside and tries to use his Smash Dex to track it.*
Valentine Kilmer: "...I really wish others would stop running off." *She looks over at Digifanatic.* "Follow him. I'll help Gary."
Digifanatic: "No problem."
Metal Man (GM): It's already moving around too much for Aribar to track.
Digifanatic: *Follows Ari, trying to figure out where it's gone...*
Aribar slows down to a stop.* "Fruitless efforts seventy billion, ideas that actually worked zero..."
Valentine Kilmer: *She moves over to Gary and ungags him.*
Digifanatic: "Hmm...if that's not working. Hmm...maybe, just maybe...Ari? Do you think we can try some sort of move with a good radius?"
Gary: *Breathes in quickly, then yells* "DON'T GO OUT THERE, INSANE CLOAKED PEOPLE ARE AFTER YOU!!! IDIOTS!!!!"
Aribar: "Bleh. I think... I don't know. Our priorities... We need to find Easton and Grodus, subdue them and arrest them, and get Deloth back..."
Gary: "..." *Breathes in again* "If you had just looked to see the lack of intelligence of that... thing... you'd have known that two people led you here on purpose! They were stupid enough to tell me their plans before they tied me up--but they did that only after I used all my pokémon and injured them both."
Valentine Kilmer: "I figured as well. The hidden electronic pulses the Dex detected."
Gary: "They used the Old Man to warp to another dimension, probably some place they came from... then they waited for you to come here, to send you one by one to another dimension... seems only one of you was fooled."
Digifanatic: "Well, as long as we don't hit each other, we'll be alright. I'll aim in front and you take the back."
Aribar: "Wait... What?"
Gary: "Now, I'll help you... if you admit that you were dumb for not untying me first!"
Digifanatic: "If anyone else comes in, we'll add them in and see if we can all surround our target."
Gary: "Otherwise I'm just fine with sitting here and watching you fry. That's what you did to me, after all."
Valentine Kilmer: "That was a smart move, actually." *She regags Gary.*
Aribar: "Oh... Aye, we could do that... But just three of us? Wouldn't work very well..."
Digifanatic: "Well, Metal could send in others. You never know who comes in late."
Valentine Kilmer: "We need to confirm something first. And that's reinforcements."
Digifanatic: "But for now, it's gonna be the two of us, three when Val gets back?"
Valentine Kilmer: "I hope you mean Deloth."
Gary: "Mmmph!!" He doesn't look like he'll be held for long.
Valentine Kilmer: "Anyways. Now that we know what we have to do. One of you untie Gary."
Aribar starts back towards the gym, thinking... .oO(Better late than never.)
Digifanatic: "Uh, I'm not sure if deserting ol' outer-dimensional is a good idea."
Metal Man (GM): Chancé appears randomly, next to Gary.
Chancé: "Hello."
Aribar: "He's too fast for us to catch. At least right now..."
Digifanatic: "Alright."
Chancé: "So you're Gary?"
Valentine Kilmer: "... Now Gary. Unless you don't want to be left in the closet for some random trainer to steal your badges, how about we forget all this and you just help? Nod if you understand."
Chancé: "But I thought you had a googolplex of cheerleaders?"
Aribar enters the gym.* "This is turning out to be a... Terrible mission. And I see Gary is still gagged up... And... Chance is here."
Chancé pulls off the gag.
Valentine Kilmer: "Put that back in!"
Metal Man (GM): He does not nod. Instead, he knocks a Pokéball loose during the confusion. A Scyther cuts him loose.
Chancé: "Why? It's not like words ever hut anyone when they come from a non spellcaster."
Gary: "I can free myself, no thanks to you. Remember, it took an INTER-DIMENSIONAL freak to even tie me up in the first place."
Chancé: "Hmm, nice Scyther."
Gary: "Now... I'm not giving you any more help unless you admit you left me here to be captured while you ran around making mistakes."
Valentine Kilmer: "Well. Tell him, Chancé."
Chancé: "I just appeared here sweet and kind Val-en-tine. Heck, I do not even know the whole story, and my apology would be useless."
Valentine Kilmer: "Weren't you briefed? I need to have a talk with Metal Man..."
Aribar sighs, wondering why they need another obstacle.* "Put your petty ego aside for a moment. I apologize for not being very sincere; I'm usually quite docile. Just... Do you want your town blown up, or do you want to help us stop some villains?"
Gary: "I can save my own town, if you're too chicken to take on some losers with a weird device. You forget that I have fifteen badges and have defeated many people."
Chancé: "Yet still got ti--*slap over mouth* Arg, now I am doing it."
Gary: "The only reason I'm even considering helping you is you want your strangely gullible friend back. But that'll have to wait until you admit that I am superior."
Aribar: "Okay, then both parties here have a fair amount of experience. Still this is your world. What do you recommend?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Sadly, his ego will not allow anything else. Unless he has a Rival we can call upon. Gary. What is your win-lose record?"
Gary: "Ash? Tough luck. He's too busy training after I beat him that other time... unless you're crazy enough to go half-way around the world, bring him here, and then have him lose to me. Then perhaps I would be impressed at how desperate you are. About 99 to 4. Ash beat me once, but I trained my pokémon up enough that he has yet to beat me again."
Chancé: "Do they have one of your pokémon Gary?"
Gary: "Of course not. They were too dumb to know what they were. They only tied me up because they had a weird ability to become invisible... but you don't see me falling for that again!"
Chancé looks shocked and stares behind Gary.
Valentine Kilmer: "Cloaking. A simple trick to get around. I'm sure Dr. Light or Dr. Oak has something for that."
Gary: "I know for a fact that they've been taking this time to plan something else. Their original plan involved blowing you up in some other realm, but that failed... they could be moving quite far away right now, and only I am intelligent enough to know how to track them."
Valentine Kilmer: "I think your grandfather will do. I'm sure one loss on your record is all you want."
Aribar: "Have you saved existence from being destroyed by a being made of pure chaos?"
Gary: "No. Because I generally prevent anything like that from happening in the first place." He then turns to Val. "If you can't admit even so little as the fact I had more foresight than you for once, it won't really matter who you send."
Aribar sighs.* "Okay, for the sake of showing some foresight, because if we don't we'll be here for an eternity, the Questers have no foresight."
Chancé: "Fine, if you want words, 'You are clearly the greatest person ever, your brown spiky hair is like the beacon that guides the way though the forest. Your brain is so large you keep it in a footba-- trainer stadium, you are great!' Now will you help us?"
Gary: "About time." He laughs and then chucks a pokéball to the ground.
Valentine Kilmer: "..." *She stays silence for the moment."
Metal Man (GM): Out comes an Abra.
Chancé: "Aww, how cute. *pets*"
Gary: "My Abra is different from all the others: It can detect the people you're looking for. And with my special Pokédex, I can then send you the coordinates."
Digifanatic: "Hold your peace, fellow Questers...I'm interested. See?"
Chancé: "It's adorable. *^_^*"
Metal Man (GM): The Abra glows a bit and then you see an image of two figures standing just outside the edge of town. Apparently in the hope you come down there, still believing the fake Gary.
Valentine Kilmer: "Don't touch the pokémon."
Chancé: "Ok. *Pets Val*"
Gary: "Now... that should be enough help for you. I know how to defeat them both, but you'd probably not do what I want to get that information..." He laughs again.
Valentine Kilmer: "Do not pet me either!"
Chancé: "You want your cheerleader cheer of "Gary Gary he's our man, if he can't do it no one can?""
Digifanatic: *whispers to Aribar* "I think he wants her..."
Valentine Kilmer: "Idiot."
Chancé: "You're so cute when you are annoyed Val."
Valentine Kilmer: "Let's just get this over with."
Aribar merely shakes his head.
Valentine Kilmer: "Before I make a third target of the day."
Gary: "No... all I'd want is some money to make up for the wasted time."
Aribar tosses a single coin to Gary.* "Here. Go buy some modesty and humbleness."
Chancé goes back to petting the Abra.
Gary: *Takes the coin.* "No deal, but I will keep this... you never know when someone will want coins held by losers."
Chancé gives Gary a hug too. "You sound like you need one."
Valentine Kilmer: "At least you get to part with them." *She then leaves and waits just outside.*
Digifanatic: *follows Val.*
Aribar: "You're a rotten and spoiled brat." *Follows Valentine.*
Chancé: "Anyway, I hear another person who needs a hug. *Chases after Valentine*"
Digifanatic: "Chancé...I'll talk to you about this after the mission's over, alright?"
Chancé: "About what?"
Gary: "...Great... loser dust on my best outfit."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk on outside.
Digifanatic: "Let's just go." .oO(He does not know how to properly become friends with the opposite gender.)
Metal Man (GM): The Questers would see the very trainer alluded to earlier. The one the original fake Gary mentioned, and the one the real Gary pointed out as one of the bad guys in disguise. He doesn't seem to have a clue that the Questers know who he is. The Questers are on their way to this person...
Aribar: "Okay, since we have no chance against Grodus and Easton... Especially in their dimensional form... Let's get the cure from Nurse Joy."
Chancé follows Aribar!
Digifanatic: *follows.*
Metal Man (GM): You reach Nurse Joy.
Digifanatic: *muttering.*
Aribar: "Greetings... Just wondering, what IS the cure to that dimensional... 'illness'?"
Digifanatic: *Well...* *muttering to Chancé* "I've a feeling this part is a trap as well..."
Nurse Joy: "I can use the pokémon curing device here to remove it. Strange, but effective."
Aribar: "Is there a, ah, portable way to cure people?"
Nurse Joy: "No... why?"
Aribar: "Because in order to solve the problems around here, we need to fight some people who are affected by it, and I don't think we could beat them. At least while they're all incorporal and stuff.."
Nurse Joy: "Ah... but incorporeal people can't touch you either. If they really have been cursed."
Digifanatic: "Hmm...but what about their attacks? Perhaps their special maneuvers have a way of bending through realities...? I'm just taking a guess."
Nurse Joy: "Also incorporeal."
Digifanatic: "Okay..."
Nurse Joy: "I am pretty sure of it. Otherwise humans would be terrorized by Missing Numbers more often."
Digifanatic: "Right, right... Hmm...we need some way to lure them here."
Nurse Joy: "If they are incorporeal, they cannot harm you. If they aren't, they'd only prove to be a nuisance here... why would you want them here?'
Digifanatic: "Because our targets are fugitives that escaped the Questers' Headquarters."
Nurse Joy: "And I can help with that... how?"
Digifanatic: "By removing their...incorporeality, we can wear them down and bring them back to HQ in secure cells where they belong. It sounds like an odd scenario--and indeed, it is--but it's practically the only choice we've got."
Nurse Joy: "That's great, except... if they become corporeal, they can also damage the Pokémon Center, and possibly escape. If they are incorporeal they will eventually become Missingnos anyway."
Digifanatic: "Hmm...just something doesn't sound like good news if we just leave them out in the wild. I understand..."
Nurse Joy: "Of course, you'll have to find out what they're doing... I doubt they'd be standing around if they really were cursed."
Digifanatic: "That Missingnos are relatively harmless things, as long as they are incorporeal, but in case they find some way to break that barrier and be corporeal again, regardless of form...we're screwed."
Nurse Joy: "Well, either way, I don't think talking to me will make them go away."
Digifanatic: "I know. I'm just giving ideas."
Aribar: "Okay... I suppose we have no other alternatives... We need to go and walk into their trap now."
Nurse Joy: "...And yes, if you had a time machine loaded with phazon, they might just explode immediately. But I don't have that either."
Aribar: "Wait, I bet Metal does! ... But he probably wouldn't let us have it... Ah well." *Starts out the door.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers make their way outside the door.
Julian: *And Julian decides to make an appearance, walking down the street sipping on a smoothie. He spots the group and walks over* "Hey, fancy seein' you guys here. What's goin' down?"
Digifanatic: "We have got to return Easton and Grodus to the prison cells they belong to."
Aribar: "Trent Easton and Grodus escaped. Deloth is in another dimension and needs rescued. And that pokémon trainer over there is a fake and part of a trap. ... That about... Covers it. Yup."
Digifanatic: "Well, that in mind, we pretty much just have to take those two down, somehow..."
Metal Man (GM): The fake trainer continues to stand there. Oddly, it appears to be watching the Questers.
Aribar: "Either we get the pre-emptive and strike that fake, or we walk into their trap... Or talk to it. Any opinions?"
Julian: "'Zat so...Tell ya what. I was gonna come back from vacation tomorrow, but I'll make an exception." *Tosses the now empty smoothie cup into a nearby trashcan* "We're thrashin' the fake guy, right?"
Digifanatic: "Oh yeah."
Aribar nods to Julian.
Julian: "So let's get to the thrashin'."
Aribar starts towards the fake trainer.
Digifanatic: "So, I doubt talking to the guy will work, so--yeah. What you said, Jules."
Fake Trainer: "So, you've come for my assistance?"
Aribar: "No. Not exactly."
Fake Trainer: "Then what are you here for?"
Aribar: "To tell you this trap is pathetic."
Julian: *Julian follows close behind* "I'm here for whatever they're for. Which I just forgot."
Fake Trainer: "Hm... hmhmhm... so you think. But I was expecting this all this time."
Metal Man (GM): He morphs into... Grodus!
Julian: "You again."
Aribar unsheaths his sword and points the blade at Grodus.* "Come along quietly... And tell us what you did with Deloth."
Grodus: "You're so perceptive... of course it is me. You cannot hold me in a prison any more than you can lock quantum particles in one place."
Julian: "Or you're gonna have another hole in yo' glass head to patch up."
Grodus: "You do not realize the depth of my plan today, however I shall enlighten you. Thanks to your... ungrateful actions, I was fired from the winning team."
Aribar: "A pity."
Grodus: "But I found a backup plan... the old man here is an extra-dimensional being. I figured it would be the least I could do to send you all to his realm so no one would have to deal with you again. Sadly, only Deloth believed that. But... I predicted that, too..."
Metal Man (GM): Trent Easton appears to his side out of thin air... with his hair looking like Gary Oak's.
Aribar: "A question, if you will..."
Trent Easton: "So I'm just going to have to kill you before you can get away!"
Grodus: "Gaack-aack-aaack-aaack-aaaack!!!"
Aribar: "Did you happen to take the old man's powers? Rather, answer his question?
Trent Easton: "His powers? No. We only copied them."
Julian: "Who are you again?"
Trent Easton: "Trent Easton. The last man you will ever see in this existence of yours." He takes out his golden gun.
Grodus: "I'm afraid this shall be the end of your petty adventures. No more subterfuges... no more backup plans..."
Trent Easton: "In other words, it's about time we just killed you outright!"
Metal Man (GM): This golden gun has the number 'II' inscribed on it. Apparently he had more than one. With those words said, they walk directly into battle.
Aribar: "How many times have we defeated you before? This time shall be no different! Especially since you have the old man's powers." *The elf drops into his battle stance.*
Julian: "Same two jokers, same result." *Julian puts up his dukes!*
Metal Man (GM): Grodus is quickly surrounded by a shield of sorts, with four Xes... little X-thingies, at least. They are each targets, but they don't take any turns.
Dragoshi: *And, then, Dragoshi warps in* "Oh, hey guys. Sorry I couldn't get here in time, I was--..." *He sees Grodus and Trent* "..." *He just readies his assault rifle.*
Aribar: "Same old tricks... Take out Grodus's drones before attacking him!"
Metal Man (GM): Trent Easton rushes at Dragoshi and tries to smack him.
Trent Easton: "You will never survive this battle, fools!"
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi responds to that by trying to quickly dash away from that. A-yep.*
Metal Man (GM): Trent Easton, not one to be miffed, tries another smack.
Julian: *Julian goes for one of Grodus' drones, aiming to smack one out of existence with a Cannon Blow haymaker! Here comes the boom!*
Metal Man (GM): No damage. Instead, Dragoshi's vision is blurred and his rifle is stolen. The anti-theft would work, except Trent Easton worked with Datadyne, which made the rifle. He slides a card and suddenly it now believes he is the master. That, however, eats his turn.
Trent Easton: "Datadyne products answer only to ME!"
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, Julian attacks Grodus' drone... And it fails to avoid.
Julian: *SHA-BOOM!*
Metal Man (GM): The first X violently explodes. The shield around Grodus dims a little.
Julian: *Julian raises a fist in victory and backwards jogs back to the group.*
Aribar wonders who he should go after. The half-elf quickly decides Easton is the deadlier of the two and goes to unleash a flurry of wind-enhanced slashes.*
Metal Man (GM): Easton tries to leap out of the way. He fails, you hit his shield.
Aribar unleashes a terribly inaccurate wave of slices upon the general. The elf backs up a step to steady himself, only then realizing he actually hit the soldier. He tries another barrage of slices!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Digifanatic follows up orders and goes on another of the drones with a pair of Fire Punches at one ofthe drones... might as well annoy Grodus.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. Hit... it's blown to bits. The shield is at half strength. Grodus shakes his head and then ignores what's going on to instead attack Julian.
Grodus: "I shall destroy the strongest. Here, have some lightning!"
Julian: *Figures.*
Metal Man (GM): He fires a lightning bolt at Julian.
Julian: *No thank you, says Julian as he tries to avoid it while moving into position to attack Drone 3.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian move out of the way as the lightning makes a giant crater where he was.
Grodus: "Very well, I shall freeze you solid!"
Metal Man (GM): He fires a beam of ice at Julian.
Julian: *Duck of doom!* *Blargh.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is not frozen, but takes damage.
Grodus: "Gaaack-aaack-aaack-aaaack!"
Julian: *Julian shakes off the attack, grinding his fist into his palm* "Shouldn'ta done that..."
Digifanatic decides to try something bigger now...
Dragoshi: *Anyway, that bit of pure annoyance aside, Dragoshi decides to spit acid at Trent's barrier...Knowing this, the damn thing's prolly' immune to the effect...But, it's worth a shot.*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit. It is, indeed, immune.
Trent Easton: "Your acid will not tarnish my defense. Ha!"
Dragoshi: *Too busy to listen. Charging up Gravity well. >_>*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi charges up, then throws the Gravity Well. Trent Easton decides to have a battle against Dragoshi's Gravity Well with his rifle shots even though bullets can't possibly destroy a gravity well. They can fly though it, though.
Digifanatic decides to try something bigger now...he shifts the position of his other weapon, his keytar, from behind his back to a standard playing position and whips up a cacophonous A Day in the Life crescendo, which should hopefully blast right in Easton's face! Then he fire punches Grodus!
Dragoshi: "So, yea, uh anyway...I'll be making flapjacks. And, you guys are the batter!" *He throws the aformentioned gravity well, which also effects Grodus*
Metal Man (GM): Trent pegs Dragoshi with the gun as well. As for Grodus and his Xes... Grodus evades the well, whereas his two Xes are taken out by it.
Metal Man (GM): Easton is hit by Digi's attacks
Metal Man (GM): Grodus' shield is down. Trent cuts his losses and stops attacking for now.
Julian: *Julian tries to knock the non-existant wind out of Grodus with a machinery-smashing Liver Blow...*
Metal Man (GM): Grodus sort of sits there as you punch him.
Julian: *Julian launches an immediate follow up to the Liver Blow by grabbing Grodus by his big ugly head, and launching himself straight up into the air with a giant leap! Julian then positions Grodus under himself, and rides him all the way back down, slamming him into the ground! Air Sawyer.*
Aribar decides that attacking Trent while he's shielded serves... Little purpose. The elf forms another series of air blades before rushing up to Grodus and unleashing a barrage of slashes upon him! Then the elf jumps back and charges himself up with some nice electricity before rocketing off towards the robot and slamming right into him!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit hit. Grodus recovers his defense... With no shield, he must continue using maximum power attacks.
Grodus: "Think you're smart? Try more lightning!"
Metal Man (GM): He fires it... at Digi.
Digifanatic: *There's a 1-in-1000 chance he can miss this...so he'll take the base damage instead.*
Metal Man (GM): And some mega damage to Digi. The more terrifying thing is that it spawns more lightning, which first spreads out to attack Julian! ...O_o.
Julian: *Aw HELL no.*
Metal Man (GM): Grodus has decided he's not playing anymore, apparently. *ZAP* More damage to Julian. Another bolt of lightning emerges from Digi's well-fried corpse and flies at Aribar.
Julian: *Dude :(*
Aribar tries to channel the lightning away from himself!*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar flees from the lightning. Another reflected bolt from Digi flies at Dragoshi. It has poor aim.
Chancé: "Powerful. Hmm.."
Grodus: "Gaack-aack-aaack! It is but my second strongest!"
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi dodges. The last bolts dissipate, as technically Chancé and Val aren't on the field yet. And there's no more good targets left.
Grodus: "And now, for my second best trick!"
Metal Man (GM): He morphs and turns invisible. You cannot find him to attack as a target. Hmmmm... Trent Easton remains obvious and an easy target.
Julian: *Which leads to him being punched in the gut. Liver Blow!*
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Julian: *Okay, let's try the other hand.*
Trent Easton: "You want to fist-fight me? I'll show you how to fight!" He rolls up his red sleeves.
Julian: *Stop it :(*
Metal Man (GM): He parries it with an expert blocking move.
Julian: *I can keep this up all day, pal!* *KA-CHOW.*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit by one, finally.
Julian: *Trent Easton loses a rib and some of his defense!*
Digifanatic: *Well, just because he can't lay some whoop on Grodus doesn't mean he can't have fun with Easton. He'd like to smash but he's too slow to pull one off well...so he tries a different plan--Hyper Beam Matrix to the head.* *OH COME ON.*
Metal Man (GM): Trent Stands there as Digi slowly heats the dirt in front of him. He then walks up to Julian and wildly throws punches at his face.
Dragoshi: *So, anyway, that thar Dragoshi decides to jump up into that thar sky, and then starts twisting around violently, then comes crashing down on Trent! Or tries to.*
Trent Easton: "I'll get you, little man!"
Metal Man (GM): His fist bounces off the Aerodrill. He is hit for a hit at Dragoshi. He is then blocked. He rubs his hand off and swings at Julian again. Another miss. He flings another punch. Now it's just getting pathetic.
Trent: "Grrr... die little man!"
Metal Man (GM): He's wasting all his energy flailing at Julian. He makes a final desperate punch at Julian.
Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi spews moar acid at Trent.*
Chancé: "I did not know Julian could dance..."
Julian: "You punch like Glass Joe!"
Metal Man (GM): Acidic burst hits his fist and is deflected. This gives Julian the chance to basically evade it entirely. Of course, punching acid hurts...
Aribar unsheathes two more flurries of wind-filled slashes with Storm of Blades before kicking Trent in the shins!
Metal Man (GM): Trent is so tired from dodging that his dodge is now much lower... Er, punching. Both SoBs hit. Then Aribar's normal attack goes wild and hits the dirt, dealing damage to Aribar.
Aribar: "Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): Val arrives on the battlefield. Grodus is still untargetable... stupid invisibility.
Valentine Kilmer: "I believe it's time to advise. I see one. Where is his partner?"
Aribar: "Invisible."
Dragoshi: "What he said."
Julian: "Who are you again?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Very well. Turn off the Dexes when you can. Forgetting so soon, Mr. Sawyer?"
Julian: "Apparently."
Valentine Kilmer: "Introductions come later." *She then opens her Lab coat and pulls out a small pistol like weapon, aiming it at Trent and proceeding to unleash an electrical fury onto the tired man.*
Metal Man (GM): He somehow manages to roll entirely out of the way.
Valentine Kilmer: "Dodging just makes it worse. Do stand still." *She carefully aim the device once again to give it another shot.*
Trent Easton: "I will... not... let you hit me..."
Valentine Kilmer: "You're a frisky one. I think the brawler is perfect for you." *She hovers back with her platform and just waits out the machine.*
Metal Man (GM): Chancé reappears. He would see a tired Trent and not see Grodus anywhere even to try to hit.
Chancé: "Hmm... I think it's time to play one block Tetris."
Chancé brings out the Cane of Somaria and swings it once in the air.
Metal Man (GM): Trent does not magically dodge that. He is magically hit.
Chancé: "And it's a Tetris.."
Metal Man (GM): Glass Easton is about to continue more futile slapping tricks, so maybe you should hit him some more.
Julian: *Julian, deciding Trent needs to be hurt more, tries to break another rib and wind him again with a second Liver Blow!*
Metal Man (GM): He has run out of plotonium and is hit.
Julian: *CRUNCH!* *Julian drops back after connecting with the bone-breaking punch, then charges forward again with a low-hanging hook punch to Easton's jaw! Gazelle Punch!*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit.
Julian: *And a punch so nice he did it twice! Julian backs up and charges forward with another Gazelle Punch!*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit again.
Valentine Kilmer: "Perfect."
Trent Easton: "All right, I'll show you, freak!" He takes out his Golden gun and fires at Julian.
Metal Man (GM): The force is not exactly with him these days.
Julian: *Julian's extensive training in the way of not being hit by punches didn't prepare him for being hit by bullets.* *Blargh.*
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* Julian is dropped to near-death. However, Julian discovered why Trent has never fired one in battle before. It is such a complex mechanism to change that he'll be busy with it for nigh-forever!
Julian: *And Julian drops like a sack of potatoes. Guns hurt :(* "Nnnngnhangh! Didn't plan on getting shot today..."
Valentine Kilmer: "A mere set back. The others will assist you, Mr. Sawyer."
Aribar still decides to unleash a Thunderstruck upon Trent!*
Aribar ... Yeah. Doesn't even build up an electric charge.*
Metal Man (GM): Trent dodges the thunder. Which... never happens.
Trent Easton: *Grumble* "Stupid gun takes forever to reload..."
Dragoshi: *Anyway, Dragoshi decides to spew out some more acid, this time in the location of Trent's face!*
Metal Man (GM): He very slowly is replacing about eight thousand mechanisms needed to successfully guarantee near-instant death. Hit. His shield protects him from more acid damage.
Chancé: "Ivy, I will give you one get out of me annoying you card if you can break that gun."
Metal Man (GM): Concussive stuff, not so much.
Dragoshi: *Just waits...for now.*
Digifanatic knows that that defense drop is fading out at just the wrong time... so he just goes for some insurance by launching a normal kick to Trent, and then a Fire Punch, and ooh--he gives Julian a Heart Container!
Metal Man (GM): Trent leaps out of the way of both.
Digifanatic: *dang it dang it dang it.*
Metal Man (GM): However, he does not like seeing Julian healed.
Digifanatic: *And one Heart Container to Julian later...*
Trent Easton: "Nooooooo!!! I'll kill you for that!!!"
Dragoshi: "Oh, shut up."
Valentine Kilmer: "Someone hand me Trent's weapon when he is done so I may study it." *She's busy just looking at the area they're in. Or their surroundings.*
Metal Man (GM): Trent is still reloading... very slowly.
Julian: *And Julian's back on hit feet, holding the Golden Bullet in between two fingers* "Shouldn'ta done that."
Trent Easton: "I'll have another one soon enough!"
Dragoshi: "Sure, why not. I'm only interested in getting my rifle back. Along with that card of his." >_>
Valentine Kilmer: *She just hums as she seems to be looking for a source of water nearby or something that will shoot water out.*
Metal Man (GM): Behind two very wall-like fences, 50 feet away.
Valentine Kilmer: *And that is?*
Metal Man (GM): A shallow pond of sorts.
Valentine Kilmer: *She'll remember that for later. Right now, it's target time on one Trent. First to find his weakest spot than to expose it and knock him down with a powerful shot with her rifle.*
Metal Man (GM): Val thinks and realize he is weak in general. Therefore Val knows his weak spot: everywhere.
Valentine Kilmer: "A simple man. Predictable." *She then eyes Trent through her scope, aiming his weaken body to unleash the so called powerful shot.*
Metal Man (GM): The only problem is he moves very fast for a walking weak spot.
Valentine Kilmer: *She not one to give up after one miss. She quickly adjusts and unleashes her next shot.*
Metal Man (GM): He apparently used his energy on that last teleport.
Valentine Kilmer: "One who wastes too much energy, ends up getting hit in the rear."
Chancé: "Grodus, he is quite silly, he is the pawn of the other members of his team~."
Dragoshi: "Was."
Metal Man (GM): Grodus reappears, causing some generator of Easton's to short out.
Grodus: "I'm afraid the only pawn I'm going to be is of death, and you appear to be diagonally in front of me. Gaaack-aaack-aaack-aaack!"
Dragoshi: "...You did not just go there."
Chancé: "He may still be knowing Hannon."
Trent Easton: "Gah! My reality-warping dodge machine! How am I supposed to dodge everything now?"
Chancé: "Erm, Gannon."
Grodus: "That's your problem." *He then turns to attack...*
Dragoshi: "By dying, Trent."
Valentine Kilmer: "Or giving up. I hate wasting bullets."
Dragoshi: "...Either way works." .oO(But, I prefer the one where I get a free meal out of it)
Grodus: "Now... silence, noisy thing!" He fires an ice beam at Val.
Aribar blinks...* "I do believe their idiocy may just kill each other.."
Julian: "Yak yak yak..."
Chancé: "Grodus is quite a thing / Just a useless enemy / Fodder for Haiku."
Metal Man (GM): *Zap.* No freeze.
Grodus: "We'll see how much Haiku you say after I electrocute you!" He shoots lightning at Chancé.
Valentine Kilmer: *Well, she tried to move out of the way, but it seems she had a bit of a cool spell before she could do anything.*
Chancé pops out his mirror of twilight.
Chancé: "Yep, a pawn on both sides of the playing field. Moved and controlled."
Metal Man (GM): The lightning is absorbed. Grodus threatens further death...
Chancé: "It's potion time!"
Chancé pulls out a Super Chocolate Milk and tosses it to Julian.
Julian: *Julian chugs the chocolate milk, wipes his mouth...then lines up his shot and CANNON BLOW's Grodus' glass dome!*
Digifanatic: "Praise the chef, folks."
Metal Man (GM): The dome is not broken, but dented.
Chancé: "More chemistry than cooking in that one. Thanks anyway though."
Valentine Kilmer: "I fail to believe someone like you made that."
Dragoshi: "...Heh." *So, anyway, Dragoshi decides to jump up into the air, then suddenly starts twisting around violently, then, starts descending like an insane drill upon Grodus!*
Chancé: "I believe strongly in my sciences, thank you very much Val-en-tine. I just can't keep the labels correct."
Valentine Kilmer: "I suppose the baking soda filled lava producer is hurtless to you."
Chancé: "I see you forgot your weapon to the battle of wits."
Dragoshi: *Then, Dragoshi quickly gets back up, and fires a point-blank blast of acid at the guy's head before jumping back to the group.*
Metal Man (GM): Grodus' defense IS decreased by acid.
Digifanatic normally doesn't like to take chances, but hey, we know how slow Grodus can be. Let's try another Hyper Beam Matrix, this time to the Not-Chrome Dome!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Digifanatic: *deep exhale.*
Aribar switches targets to Grodus now! The elf rushes up and gives a flying kick to Grodus's glass dome. After landing, the elf jumps up and tries to give two more swift kicks to it!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit. Miss. Hit.
Valentine Kilmer: *She shakes the frost from her shoulder length olive green hair and digs for an item inside of her lab coat.* "Grodus, was it? I do believe it's your turn to become silent."
Grodus: "I have predicted your next attack. Go ahead and try, predictable human!"
Chancé: "Well, she is a little dry, but predictable, I would say never."
Valentine Kilmer: *She then pulls out an EMP grenade, activating it and tossing it towards the Machine.*
Metal Man (GM): He stands there and is stunned for the moment.
Valentine Kilmer: "Your predictable has made you useless." *She would then raise her rifle and take a simple shot at the stunned Robot.*
Metal Man (GM): He does not move. Instant hit.
Valentine Kilmer: *Val would quickly recoil for another shot, taking what she can for the moment.*
Chancé: "Hmm... I wonder if he will fix himself when he goes to Grodus 2.0."
Chancé: "If there is one."
Valentine Kilmer: "Don't make false statements."
Dragoshi: *So, anyway, Dragoshi gets out the Dark Sword, and decides to tear into Grodus with it.*
Chancé pulls out the mirror of twilight and fires back 2x lightning at the frozen Grodus.
Chancé: "A power overload is bad for electronics right?"
Dragoshi: "Unless they have a surge protector or something, then, yea. It's bad."
Aribar adds to Lucent's attack by attempting to rocket towards Grodus with an electrically charged tackle! Thunderstruck!*
Aribar trips over a ladybug.*
Metal Man (GM): Failure. Grodus is zapped back alive and glows menacingly... and also extremely damaged.
Grodus: "Just as I predicted!!! I have enough power to use my ultimate attack!!!"
Metal Man (GM): He powers up and fires a gigantic laser beam at Julian.
Aribar: "No need to use it!"
Chancé: "Dammit, I thought you were too stupid to read the Evil Overlord list."
Dragoshi: "That's hardly the case these days, Chance." >_>;;
Metal Man (GM): Grodus' ultimate attack is so powerful it causes his place in the time-space continuum to fluctuate. Grodus then gives an insulting fist gesture at all of you and promptly explodes, his head sailing over the horizon to safety.
Grodus: "I'll get you next timmmeeeeeeee!!!!" *TINK.*
Aribar: "... He's been in this world too long. Now he's emulating Team Rocket..."
Dragoshi: "...That was weird."
Digifanatic: "Yeah...not cool no matter how you look at it."
Chancé: "... ... ... ... Did he just ... ... ... wow ..."
Julian: *What.* *Oh hells nah.*
Metal Man (GM): A few moments later, the death ray hits Julian.
Julian: *One-Hit KO!!*
Metal Man (GM): Grodus did succeed... but the fact he claimed only one life is somewhat pathetic considering how powerful he is. Trent Easton is slower than usual and distracted loading his gun.
Digifanatic changes up his tactics...he lobs a normal Grenade at Trent's head, and if that misses, he will (hopefully) have a Fire Punch and an Icy Kick to fall back on.
Metal Man (GM): He manages to slowly evade the grenade. Hit.
Chancé: "It's potion time~." "Eat attack delaying boss bass potion!"
Metal Man (GM): He is hit. However, he cannot be delayed any further.
Valentine Kilmer: *She however it back to the same attacks with Trent. The same Device made to Stun people in her other hand and aims to shoot at him.*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit.
Valentine Kilmer: *More like to make him a target for others.* *She however it back to the same attacks with Trent. The same Device made to Stun people in her other hand and aims to shoot at him.*
Metal Man (GM): He dodges. Then he trips into the Old Man. *WHOOSH.* Deloth appears. That ends that battle, although he's likely to return soon...
Chancé: "Hmm, *Gives Val a gold sticker* Nice job breaking logic."
Metal Man (GM): With both of them dealt with, The Questers' mission is pretty much completed.
Valentine Kilmer: "...Oh. I get it now." *She shoos Chance away from herself.*
Deloth: "..." *blink blink.*
Julian: *Julian gets back up, apparently.* "Ngh...Where'd they go?"
Deloth: "...How'd you bring me back?"
Valentine Kilmer: "Old Man. Any chance on getting his weapon?"
Digifanatic: "Well, we had a pretty good fight to get you back, but hopefully, everything will end up okay."
Old Man: "Unfortunately, not right now. He will appear eventually, as he was sling-shot through reality. It appears he will reappear in a field where a crater is... one where a very important machine will be turned on."
Julian: "Great. That...doesn't help at all."
Old Man: "It is against the code of Old Men to speak in obvious verse."
Aribar: "Oh, great... I can tell you about that, Julian."
Deloth: "Nobody's watching."
Valentine Kilmer: "No. The questers know that well, Mr. Sawyer. It's the last mission they screwed up on."
Julian: "Good thing I was on vacation, then."
Valentine Kilmer: "Anything else, Old Man? If not, I'll be leaving now."
Metal Man (GM): A warp back appears.
Dex: "As you need to activate the replacement machine, it appears like you'll be seeing that man again... very soon."
Old Man: "Nothing, although those people were getting on my nerves... I shall do this."
Valentine Kilmer: *And she goes through it.* "Don't remind me."
Metal Man (GM): The shop building suddenly un-explodes.
Digifanatic: "Odd..."
Julian: "...Whatever." *Julian heads into the warp.*
Deloth: *Warpinate.*
Digifanatic: *warps.*
Dragoshi: *Heads back to warp, muttering* "What a fucking ripoff..."
Aribar belatedly warps back, now no longer poor.*
Chancé warps.
Metal Man (GM): Mission Complete.
