Super Smash Quest - Story - Chapter 498: The Vile Supercomputer

Date: February 10th, 2008 & February 12th, 2008.

Metal Man (GM): Metal Man is at the same old place in the same old Stadium, staring at information for this mission, where... in Saffron City, there is a large Innotek building. It is most obvious that Innotek is there. What has been revealed, however, is they possess clues to the lost city of Eisnaught, where Ivan Robotnik once lived. Of course, the Questers are not specifically here, but wherever they would be otherwise. Since I need something to distract me, people with books and such may feel free to return them and borrow now.

ChancÃ© is in the kitchen, trying out the cookbook he got from the food store.

Metal Man (GM): The cook book is a collection of recipes. Assuming you have the right stuff you can make whatever you want with it. Right now there is only plain stuff in the fridge, which is not particularly good for that. You'd need to buy more stuff.

ChancÃ©: "Hrm."

Digifanatic: *He's wherever. Yeah. No fun.*

Metal Man (GM): Metal stares at the information in the R&R, looking it over. Bored, he speaks to himself.

ChancÃ© takes some water, boils it, and adds a bunch of fruit from the fridge along with the berries he got from the food store also.

Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi is lazily laying down on the couch in R&R, watching TV, seeing as he really doesn't have much better to do. ... Well, aside for checking to see if the repairs on that Shield Generator have been done with, but eh. Anyway, what's on TV?*

Metal Man: "Why do they keep conveniently appearing in places they did not before? Why do we keep getting convenient tips on these people? Why should we know what we do?"

Then, when the water is boiled away, ChancÃ© adds it to the blender along with some ice.

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi sees that the TV is primarily the realm of 'Toad Town Disaster Videos Vol 3: The Tornado collection"

Deloth remains in his room for now, practicing his sword slashes, thrusts, and various other moves. You can never train too much.

Metal Man (GM): ChancÃ© creates a super fruit brick. It's rather heavy and dangerous if thrown, but not good to eat.

ChancÃ©: "..."

Metal Man (GM): Super fruit brick: When you're out of normal bricks!

ChancÃ©: "Has Deloth been using the blender to mix cement again?"

Dragoshi: *Looking at TV* "Seen it..." *Just clicking through channels*

Metal Man (GM): The cement bag is empty and shows claw marks on it. Deloth probably ate the cement. However, the blender was thoughtlessly left on 'brick' mode.

ChancÃ© sighs and pockets the superfruitbrick.

Metal Man (GM): Metal Man stares at the evidence as Dragoshi flips channels.

Deloth promptly coughs and sends out a small piece of cement, confirming that theory.

ChancÃ©: "I need to remember to check the mode next time."

Digifanatic: *wandering in* "Anything new, Dragoshi?"

Metal Man: "And why would that be in a city which looked so different just a little bit ago?"

Dragoshi: "Not really."

ChancÃ© goes into the main room.

Dragoshi: *Continues flipping through, looking for anything of interest*

Metal Man (GM): Chance` would see Dragoshi flipping channels, and Metal staring at pictures of various parts of Saffron city.

Digifanatic: "Wouldn't think so until we got summoned somewhere."

Metal Man: "This has got to be a setup of some kind..."

Digifanatic: *turns to Metal* "Oh?"

Metal Man: "We can't just follow all these pre-given leads and expect to stop them! Or if we do, somebody must be showing us the way for their own benefit..."

ChancÃ©: "Hmm."

Digifanatic: "Yeah... hard to be a step behind all the time."

ChancÃ©: "Dragoshi, how about a trade? I will trade you a fruit brick of doom for that Bard's candy?"

Dragoshi: "... Sure, why not." *Continues flipping through channels while handing ChancÃ© the candy*

ChancÃ© hands Dragoshi the purplepinkreadbannana brick.

ChancÃ©: "Thankie."

Halbardeer crawls into the training room, looking around at the group gathered. "What's the commotion in here about?"

Dragoshi: "No prob." *Puts the brick away*

Metal Man: "Nothing. Just... these leads are fishy. And I have an idea of how to figure out who's behind them."

Digifanatic: "Oh, please tell."

Metal Man: "Well, that strange man, the people on the ARK... messages don't come from nowhere, right?"

Digifanatic: "Under ideal scenarios. But realistically, you're correct."

Dragoshi: "Of course not..."

Metal Man: "So we could look for the man sending the information instead of knocking down some people who seem terrified of us and who do nothing but flee."

Halbardeer: "You finally going to reveal the identity of that mysterious guy?"

Digifanatic: "Hmm..."

Metal Man: "Well, I don't know what it is. I'm going to have to find it. Somehow."

Digifanatic: "You've got an idea."

Metal Man: "In that case.... OAAAAAK!!!!!"

Metal Man (GM): Oak runs over.

Professor Oak: "I'm getting too old for this."

Metal Man: "Sh! Trace these and search for these." *Dumps a pile of discs on Oak*

Deloth pricks up his ears at that yell. "Was that Metal or did someone run over a cat?"

Professor Oak: "I'm a Pokemon researcher, not a computer scientists!"

Metal Man: "Yes you are! Multiple computer scientists!"

Deloth: "... Poor cat." *goes back to practicing*

Professor Oak: *sigh* "I guess I could try."

Digifanatic: *shakes his head*

Halbardeer looks at Professor Oak. "He some kind of scholar?"

ChancÃ©: "Oak, just think of it as Porygon researching."

Dragoshi: "... Yea, i'd ask about the shield generator, but Oak's prolly' gonna be too busy with those to be bothered with that." :/

Professor Oak: "Indeed. I am going to try that right now."

Deloth: *from his room* "Oh, crap, I moved my lamp--" *CRASH*

Professor Oak: "You mean this?" He tosses a fixed generator to Dragoshi. "It can provide a 50 HP cloak before it breaks again. Sorry about the fragility, but.... it's experimental. Come back later for something less fragile."

Dragoshi: *Catches it* "Thanks."

Professor Oak: "Now to use Porygon." He chucks a pokeball on the ground. Porygon flies out and begins reading the discs.

ChancÃ©: "Hmm, is your porygon a different color than normal?"

Professor Oak: "Hm." The Porygon beeps. "Well, I figured out that we can find out about the man." He raises a finger. "But... I don't know how, because I don't have a computer for that." He looks to ChancÃ©. "Indeed. I have a rare blue-ish Porygon."

Metal Man: "So we're going to need a special computer?"

Professor Oak: "Those robot people have the one we need. According to Porygon."

Halbardeer stands there nodding. "So we need to go beat up some more of those robot people?"

Metal Man: "Looks like it."

SIMBER: *Pops up* "Quite odd you mention that--there's a supercomputer Sigma once used in the heart of an island. It could crack the encryption like butter."

Dragoshi: *Puts it away. Dragoshi has gained +1 experimental shield generator! Whee* "Well, where is this island, then?"

SIMBER: "Well, inside the Reploid dimension, as we call it."

Metal Man: "You'll have to wander a bit, I'm afraid--these are from wars long ago. The computer was blown up, but so conveniently we have the ability to fix it."

Halbardeer: "Who has the ability to fix what?"

Metal Man: "We do. The computer."

ChancÃ©: "Well, we're off to ste--borrow a supercomputer."

Metal Man: "So, get us a warp, SIMBER?"

Halbardeer: "I have the ability to fix a computer?"

SIMBER: "Calculating... warp opened. you may proceed to the warp room."

Metal Man: "No. You have no ability to fix a computer. We as in the Stadium staff can fix the computer."

ChancÃ© heads to the warp room.

Halbardeer: "So you're coming with us this time?

Metal Man: "You simply need to locate the computer for us to get it useful."

Dragoshi: *Moseying on along to the warp..*

Metal Man: "No. Not necessary. We have the warp systems here to send it back to HQ. It's not too large, according to our files."

Halbardeer: "Okay, I'm on my way." Halbardeer makes his way to the warp room, probably the last one through.

Deloth: *oblivious... someone might wanna ping him if they want him to come along.*

ChancÃ©: *Dex Deloth* 'Free cookies in the warp room.'

SIMBER: *Appears where Deloth is* "You appear to not notice the mi..." *He glances at Deloth's dex.* "Obsoleted again!" *Vanish*

ChancÃ©: *under breath* "That's for leaving it on brick..."

Deloth opens his Dex. "What KIND of cookies?"

ChancÃ© -> Cement.

Deloth: *Dex* "No thanks. I've already had my fill of those."

ChancÃ© -> Mission cookies then?

Deloth: *Dex* "... Oh. Why the heck didn't you just say there was a mission?"

Deloth slaps his Dex shut and zooms down to the warp room, sword in hand.

Metal Man (GM): After that discussion, you all find yourself in the warp room, and through the warp to your first rendevous with the island. The islaaaannnndddd... WARP!

Halbardeer: to Deloth-> W3 ar3 aftr r0bs

Metal Man (GM): You appear in a forest of sorts, with lots of trees and bushes. You have no clue which way to go, with a mountain to the Northwest.

Halbardeer tries to climb a tree.

Metal Man (GM): There's no real path, it's deadly silent here, and it's a late afternoon outside.

ChancÃ© looks at the bushes.

Metal Man (GM): ChancÃ© discovers his hand.

Deloth: "I think I've seen this situation before."

ChancÃ©: "It's my hand... ..."

Deloth leans his head up. "XYZZY!"

ChancÃ© thwacks himself.

Dragoshi: *Decides to also try and climb up a tree*

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi discovers how not to climb a tree.

Deloth: "Hm. Must not have said it loud enough." *screaming* "XYZZY!"

Metal Man (GM): Halbardeer climbs up a tree. He would see more island, but not anything that says which way to go. Deloth succeeds in looking ridiculous.

Halbardeer: "What am I supposed to look for. There's trees, and a mountain, should we go to the mountain?"

Deloth: "... This isn't going according to script, dammit."

Halbardeer looks down at the smash dex. "Dexy! What do you think?"

Dragoshi: *Yeaa... Let's attempt the generic tree climb again.*

Dex: "The mountain appears to house the ruins inside which there is a computer. That would mean going Northwest."

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi climbs up the tree and checks out how high it is atop the tree.

Halbardeer: "Dexy says head for the hills!"

Halbardeer drops down from the tree.

Metal Man (GM): Down you go.

Deloth pauses, then shrugs and starts running for the mountains.

ChancÃ© looks around for broken think wood pieces.

Halbardeer starts trekking for the mountains, significantly more slowly.

Metal Man (GM): There's some wood debris laying around. Hal would make his way up to the mountains... finding a locked, rusted cast iron door leading inside the mountain.

ChancÃ© takes three strong wood pieces and follows after the others.

Dragoshi: *Follows the others*

Halbardeer chaindashes the door.

Dragoshi: *After jumping down from the tree, of course*

Metal Man (GM): *CRACK* The door cracks, but does not give.

Halbardeer gives it a push to finish it off now that he has loosened it.

Metal Man (GM): It finally breaks down, revealing a dim cavern of sorts leading deeper into the mountain.

Dex: "Enemy signatures detected--there is somebody inside."

Dragoshi: "... Of course."

Halbardeer: "Huh... You can see in the dark DEX? How about you be my eyes!"

ChancÃ© readies a potion - just in case.

Halbardeer looks back, waiting for the others to get there.

Dex: "I cannot see, only scan. You might want some light in here."

ChancÃ©: "Insanity Potion -- Hmm, might be useful."

Deloth: "Hmm... we need a torch."

Halbardeer: "You've got sticks, light them!"

ChancÃ© tosses Deloth one of his sticks. "Make one!"

Deloth catches it and lights it using the end of a held Flame Sting.

Halbardeer: "You can stick it in my helmet!"

Dragoshi: "..."

Metal Man (GM): With the dim light you can proceed down the tunnel.

Halbardeer: "Okay, Whoever's got the torch leads. So I guess thats you Deloth."

Deloth heads in, dual-wielding the torch and his sword.

ChancÃ© follows behind Halbardeer.

Halbardeer follows close to Deloth.

Metal Man (GM): Wandering in, you reach the edge of the tunnel and where it leads into a darkened base. Uh-oh. *POP* There's a defense turret! It fires at Deloth! 15 damage if hit.

Deloth drops the torch reflexively and tries to slide under the shot, Megaman-style!

Dragoshi: *Pulls out his Machinegun and Electric Torch. He turns on the Electric Torch, then aims the Machinegun at the defense turret, and opens fire*

Metal Man (GM): Deloth dodges as the defense turret is blasted.

Halbardeer recklessly chaindashes the turret and slams into its ruins.

Metal Man (GM): You reach a more open area. There's a metallic walkway leading deeper inside the mountain.

Dragoshi: "Huh. That was a lucky shot." *Blows off the smoke coming from the machinegun, twirls it, puts it away, then continues moving on, Electric Torch in hand*

ChancÃ© follows after Dragoshi.

Deloth rolls to his feet and continues smoothly.

Halbardeer: "Those micro torches you've got are really bright. What do you burn in them Dragoshi?"

Metal Man (GM): You eventually reach another massive door. It's too massive to smash. There's a control panel that looks like it got shot...

Deloth: "... Hey, guys, is it starting to feel warm in here to you?"

Metal Man (GM): Red and green wires on the top, and yellow on the bottom.

Halbardeer pushes the green wire.

ChancÃ©: .oO(Great, a Dedede person. --;)

Metal Man (GM): They're all cut, so you need to short one to another.

Halbardeer: "Deloth! You like these contraptions. Fix it"

Deloth: "I thought you'd never ask."

Deloth kneels down and tries to see what wire connects to the door.

Metal Man (GM): The yellow wire connects to the door, the green and red lead away from it.

Deloth works on trying to short green-to-yellow, then. Now wait for the inevitable "AAAAAGH-I touched a live wire-turn it off turn it off" part of the mission...

Metal Man (GM): *BZT* The door cracks open, revealing a half-dead reploid laying atop a busted up table of sorts. The lights turn on, and the reploid wakes up as well. Hm. That isn't good. It's a certain purple reploid, with a Boba-fett like helmet.

Deloth: "... Oh-oh."

Metal Man (GM): Cracks across its face disfigure it a bit. It is also missing its left arm. It stands up, looking around. Disoriented.

Halbardeer: "Wow! He's got purple armor! I wonder if I should dye my armor purple."

???: "What is this... I have been awakened by lowly organics?"

Deloth: *hissing* "Shut up, Hal."

???: "Hmph." He stands up and stares at all of you. "What are you doing in a Maverick base? There is nothing here."

Halbardeer: "Are you okay. You're missing an arm and look like a dog was eating your face."

???: "That's what happens when those Maverick Hunters attack you. I've been trapped in here since the ending of a very important war. But now you have come, which means there is a new war." He slowly advances on you.

Deloth: *thinking* "... Uh-oh."

Halbardeer: "We're here to borrow your computer."

Deloth takes out his sword, wiping the sweat off his palms. "I'd advise you step back. NOW."

???: "Really?" His visor glints. "Why, I know this computer well. Of course I will lead you to it. I will even fix it for you. I just thought there was no point, because people just kept on killing Sigma's brilliant creations. Odd that humans would want it, though. Fodder as you are for the great Maverick revolution."

Halbardeer: "He seems friendly enough."

Metal Man (GM): He begins walking off in the opposite direction of the way you came.

Deloth: "... Hal, does this not seem a little TOO easy?"

Metal Man (GM): You can follow him easily, as he conveniently is turning on lights as he goes.

Halbardeer: "I dunno. I've never met one of these maverick fellows before. Do they normally treat their guests poorly?"

Halbardeer follows after the dogfaced guy.

Dex: "The Mavericks believe in the superiority of machines. About 100 years ago, they fought endlessly to try to control this realm."

Dragoshi: *Just moves on*

Halbardeer: "So they're kinda like spellcasters?"

Dex: "They have been known for killing humans and reploids who associate with humans. They are machines themselves... they use technology."

Halbardeer: "Oh, so they're like you dexy?"

Metal Man (GM): Speaking of technology, you see the mysterious reploid standing over a large terminal.

Dex: "Yes."

Halbardeer: "Maybe you'd have better luck talking to him than I will than."

???: "I will repair this computer, if you ask me to." He points to the terminal. "I need only to start the self repair sequence."

Halbardeer holds my dex up to the reploid.

???: "Yes, yes, you have a pocket computer."

Dex: "I cannot speak for you. I have no diplomatic protocols."

???: "Of course, it is very easy. Do you want me to turn this on or not?" He narrows his face at you, a difficult feat in his condition.

Halbardeer shrugs, putting it away. "I dunno... I think we were supposed to take it somewhere else to fix it."

???: "Well then, here it is. I'll sit aside."

Metal Man (GM): He sits to the side. You have full access to the terminal.

Dragoshi: *Walks over to the terminal and just examines it a bit. He then looks at the spot beyond the large terminal, if there is any.*

Deloth: "If you need me, ask." *leans against a wall and absently starts tossing some fire around*

Metal Man (GM): The terminal is the main access to the computer. Beyond the main terminal is a closed door and more wall. The terminal is a generic computer--you can access whatever commands you may need from up here. But you don't know where it connects to the supercomputer.

Halbardeer: "So dexy. Who's going to activate the warp?"

Dragoshi: *Decides to search for that first, then. What kind o' check?*

Deloth starts getting bored and begins throwing Firas at the ceiling, just 'cause.

Halbardeer looks at the terminal evaluating it.

Dragoshi: *Is searching for where the terminal connects to the supercomputer.*

Metal Man (GM): The terminal is a general computer terminal.

Dex: "You can't warp the terminal--it's not what we're looking for."

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi can't seem to find where the supercomputer is.

Halbardeer: "Where's the computer itself! This is just the terminal."

???: "Ah... but wouldn't you like to know." He half-shrugs. "Perhaps if you let me repair it."

Dragoshi: *Walks over to Del, and whispers into his ear, 'cause he really doesn't trust that guy in the armor* "Hey, think you could search for where the terminal connects to the computer?"

Deloth: *carelessly* "Sure, whatever."

Deloth walks over to the terminal and tries to see which wire would be the connector... hmmm...

Metal Man (GM): You cannot find it, at least, you can't seem to figure out where it belongs.

Deloth: "Grrrr..."

Deloth wipes some sweat off his forehead and tries one more time...

Halbardeer: "Dex, do you know where the super computer is?"

Dex: "If I knew that, why would you be here?"

Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds some terminals going under the floor. Too bad he can't follow them from here.

Deloth: "I found some connecting wires, but they dead end. We need that door open."

???: "Only I know where the main part of this computer is, but of course, I have a motive you would not like. So I give you the choice of allowing me to restart the computer and revive the program on it, or you may continue... and I will remember to strike you when you least expect it next time." What a jerk.

Deloth: "How about option three where you get the hell out of here and go back to bed?"

Halbardeer: "What's this program we wouldn't like?"

???: "Make me." He crosses his arms. "I'm not going to tell you that."

Halbardeer: "Who are you anyway?"

Deloth: "A pleasure." *jumps forwards and slashes twice at You-Know-Who*

???: He laughs. "Who am I? You really don't know who I am?" He turns and leaps out of the way of Deloth, and then fires two shots at his head.

Vile: "I am Vile, second in command of the Mavericks."

Metal Man (GM): 25 damage a hit, as he then smashes a hole in the wall with his hand and leans out it.

Vile: "And you won't get that computer on my watch." He falls out of view.

Metal Man (GM): Alarms go off. The panel turns red. What do you do?

Halbardeer runs after him!

Deloth carelessly takes both shots in the chest, a very dangerous glint in his eye. "Let's rip him limb from limb."

Halbardeer is running to the edge, after the pretty purple man.

Metal Man (GM): He leaped down an extremely large pit. If you leaped into it you'd probably die.

Dragoshi: *Goes over to the panel to see why it's turned red and whatnot*

Metal Man (GM): He's made of steel and you aren't. The panel shows the alarm has been activated--as well as an alarm.

Halbardeer: "Huh... He fell down a hole... That can't be good for him."

Deloth starts Fire Twisting the door, then, hoping to melt the damn thing to a pile of slag.

Metal Man (GM): It also says some sort of 'system-wide-reboot' is scheduled. 15 minutes until it occurs.

Halbardeer looks around the room once again.

Metal Man (GM): The door is extremely durable. Fire twisting it won't break it open quickly enough.

Deloth: "I need some HELP over here!"

Metal Man (GM): Halbardeer sees the terminal, door in, and the door out (extremely durable, not seemingly breaking easily.)

Deloth continues attacking the door in a frenzy. Kicks, slashes, Stings, anything.

Dragoshi: "Wait a sec, wait a sec..." *Walks over to the door out, and looks at it, then tries to judge the distance between it and the terminal*

Metal Man (GM): Raw power doesn't seem to break the door in. It's but 15 feet away from the terminal.

Deloth keeps attacking, ignoring Drago.

Dragoshi: .oO(Damn... My exploding airtank idea won't work, then...) *Sighs, then spews some acid at the door, to see if that has any effect. :/*

Metal Man (GM): Reboot is getting closer. Door is not getting any more open. Attacks do not seem to phase the door.

Dragoshi: "... Okay, let's stop. This is doing nothing."

Metal Man (GM): It appears Vile was sizing you up the whole time.

Halbardeer looks at the terminal and hits any buttons that say open.

Deloth: *Ignore and attack. Still.*

Metal Man (GM): There's one -somewhere- but you don't have the skills to find it.

Halbardeer hits every button instead.

Metal Man (GM): Deloth mindlessly attacks the door, which mindlessly is not bothered. Hitting every button doesn't work either. The system was safeguarded against such.

Dragoshi: "God dammit, Del. It won't work. Stop doing that and help us find a way to open this that will actually wo-... Fuck it, you won't listen." *Heads over to the terminal and helps Halbardeer in his search*

Halbardeer looks CAREFULLY.

Metal Man (GM): Neither of you have any appreciable search check. Unlikely you'll ever find the buttons needed.

Halbardeer: "There's a lot of buttons."

Metal Man (GM): The time ticks some more. Vile's voice buzzes on the intercom.

Halbardeer: "Anyone got rope so I can go down the hole Vile went through?"

Vile: "Pathetic humans. I have already nearly begun the restart."

Dragoshi: *Will continue trying to search... Which is gonna be hard, seeing as the only one of the three who actually has any ability in searching is mindlessly attacking a door to no effect*

Halbardeer looks at the speaker in horror! "Oh no! It's another monologue!"

Metal Man (GM): No rope. You do realize the door has its own buttons though, next to the side of it.

Deloth finally stops, gasping and wheezing for breath and staring at the door with anger. "WHY do they build these stupid things so well?!"

Dragoshi: "... Wait a sec." *Walks over to the door.*

Metal Man (GM): Keypad. You don't know the passcode, of course.

Dragoshi: "Because some people are smart enough to know that some people will waste effort trying to destroy the door."

Deloth leans against the door, glancing over to the terminal...

Metal Man (GM): Deloth sees nothing!

Halbardeer pushes a random sequence of numbers.

Metal Man (GM): Halbardeer is zapped for 15 damage by the built-in security. The computer indicates the reboot is nearly complete. Long dead subsystems turn on as the base appears to be coming alive. That's great, except you want the supercomputer, not all the stuff attached to it.

Deloth stares again at the terminal. C'mon, c'mon, c'mon...

Metal Man (GM): Your luck is bad, as you get nothing but error messages.

Deloth: "This is WORTHLESS." *smashes his fist onto the terminal in frustration*

Halbardeer looks around the room for an alternate route, like an airduct, or at least something he can use as a rope.

Metal Man (GM): You find the door out. Perhaps there are other doors back the way you came.

Halbardeer looks through.

Metal Man (GM): You see out back the way you came. There's another path to the right of it which goes in deeper through the mountain. 5 minutes is displayed on the computer terminal.

Deloth: "Dammit, dammit, dammit, NO!"

Halbardeer heads that way.

Deloth looks over at the keypad.

Dragoshi: *Follows Halbardeer*

Metal Man (GM): You find nothing there either. Dragoshi and Halbardeer head out the other way. Down that way they would find a treacherous set of broken stairs.

Halbardeer grabs Dragoshi and carries him down.

Deloth notices the others leaving and dashes after them... and dives right down the stairs without going the "proper" way.

Metal Man (GM): Deloth takes a flying leap down the stairs and takes 25 damage. Halbardeer manages to carry Dragoshi down with him.

Deloth: *land, crunch, keep running!*

Metal Man (GM): Once reaching the bottom, you encounter yet more lighting and... ... the computer reboot is completed. As for what happens... You run on down as the alarms are going off, and encounter an area with gigantic steel blocks. Gigantic blocks which are not happy to see you. They fly at all of you. Jump checks.

Halbardeer: "Now things are getting interesting"

Dragoshi: "Quite."

Metal Man (GM): Deloth is squished for 20 damage. The blocks fly past, revealing a small pit. There's a searchlight looking around across the pit.

Deloth: *Ow, broken shoulder... but I'm okay for now! Keep going!*

Halbardeer looks in the pit.

Metal Man (GM): The pit goes very far down. It looks deadly. The searchlight across the pit is guarding some sort of alternate entrance.

Dragoshi: *Doesn't trust that searchlight... he looks to see where it comes from*

Deloth waits for the searchlight to go to one side, then... sorta flings himself over the pit, seeing as how even with SEMI-realistic physics he probably broke his foot in the door assault.

Halbardeer looks to see if the alternate entrance is open.

Metal Man (GM): Deloth gets across. Dragoshi see the searchlight comes from the ceiling of that area. Hal sees that the alternate entrance is open. Deloth sees inside the alternate entrance. There's a final small set of stairs leading down from here.

Halbardeer jumps across while avoiding the searchlight as well and runs for the small stairs.

Metal Man (GM): Vile must have leaped out, fallen quite a distance, then gone through this area.

Deloth stumble-runs down the stairs.

Metal Man (GM): Hal follows. Running down, one would soon reach a smaller room where the supercomputer is. That'd be great, only it projects a weird force field around itself. Vile stands before it, leaning, still messed up. He's safely behind the barrier.

Dragoshi: *Also jumps across, making sure to avoid the searchlight, and follows the others*

Vile: "The revolution may be dead, but this machine once housed Sigma's consciousness. Sigma's conscious, too, has fallen apart, but I still live. I don't know why you want it, but you are too late. This is mine, and you are DEAD!"

Halbardeer: "Can we warp it when it's got that barrier up dexy?"

Dex: "No."

Metal Man (GM): Vile walks out through the barrier.

Deloth: *whips out his sword with his currently non-broken arm and points it at the force field* "LOWER THE BARRIER! NOW!"

Halbardeer: "Pretty please."

Metal Man (GM): A new arm and face extension appear, in wireframe, on Vile. He floats off the ground with his jets and powers up his blasters.

Dragoshi: *Apathetically readies his assault rifle.*

Vile: "You want this supercomputer? Fight me, then!"

Dragoshi: "Fair enough."

Vile: "I do not need to yell at you. You are simply enemies to be eliminated." He raises his hands and opens fire at Deloth again.

Metal Man (GM): *ZOT* *ZOT* 25 damage each. Vile laughs.

Vile: "Keep that up, and soon you will all be dead."

Deloth: *5 HP. One step away from being ground beef.*

Metal Man (GM): Vile's words are rather true today.

Dragoshi: "... Whatever."

Halbardeer jumps up, shifting into a halberd storm to hit the flying vile.

Metal Man (GM): Ooh, so close. He barely strafes out of the way, not expecting such skill. And now we go to Dragoshi.

Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi simply fires out two blasts of acid at Vile, then bides his time*

Metal Man (GM): Hit, miss. He shakes his fist when you hit him in the left wing, slowing him down slightly. (Session pauses, then continues...) The Questers are fighting Vile, the purple Reploid from Mega Man X. Currently Vile is trying to stop them from taking a supercomputer. The Supercomputer is needed to decode some of the messages a strange holographic person gave them in an earlier session. Metal Man is suspicious of them and thinks the Questers are being led on by that person.

Vile: "I cannot let you use our Supercomputer. It is property of the Mavericks... even if Sigma is dead. Take this!"

Metal Man (GM): Vile goes to laser Aribar with two wrist beam shots.

Aribar tries to dive away from the two shots!*

Metal Man (GM): *ZOT* *WHIFF* 25 damage. Vile is flying around in front of the shielded computer. It's a wide room but there's no easily usable objects laying around. There are destructible terminals though.

Digifanatic comes in from outta nowhere and decides to give Vile a right-left set of Fire Punches!

Dragoshi: *And, what Dragoshi naturally considers the right thing to do against a flying robot is to spit out some acid at whatever he has as a flying apparatus*

Metal Man (GM): Miss, and... Hit.

Aribar dashes across the floor and charges up his electrical magic before rocketing towards the reploid in a lightning-assisted tackle! He then conjures up a whirlwind of blades and commands them to pierce Vile's armor for weak points!*

Metal Man (GM): Miss and hit, Dragoshi. Miss, miss, Aribar.

Digifanatic: *Seen as how Vile is, well, true to his name, he's gonna keep his D as high as possible... but in doing so, he whips out his Digivice and plans on spraying Vile with Hyper Beam Matrix Maaaaaaadnesssssssss!

Dragoshi: *Anyway, Dragoshi quickly readies his assault rifle and decides to try to shoot up Vile with a full barrage of shots*

Metal Man (GM): Base hit. Hit. Miss. Vile chucks a grenade at all of you! Threatens all!

Aribar: "Gah!" *The elf tries to dive away from it!*

Vile: "I'll blast you all to pieces!"

Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. 50 damage! *Blam* 50 to Digi too. Vile is laughing at the fiery destruction he made.

Vile: "You really think you can beat me?"

Aribar: "We'll rip you apart just like a tin can!" *The elf tries to stay true to his word by ripping Vile apart with a Storm of Blades!*

Dragoshi: "Eh. I've faced worse."

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Dragoshi: "Seriously. You haven't lived... Or, in the case I'm making, died, until you've been hit with an entire spaceship."

Vile: "I've fought machines who could avert such space ships, and yet I am still here!" And yet half of him is missing and only being filled in due to some nefarious solid hologram technology...

Digifanatic once again plays conservatively by letting loose a quick kick to Vile's head.

Metal Man (GM): Hit! Lots of hits for Digi, whose luck is going good. Lots of hits for everybody, really.

Dragoshi: *Eats a Mushroom, having a feeling that this is gonna take a while, then proceeds to fire off another Acidic Burst* "And, I've fought beings that tore through the fabric of reality like paper. What's your point?"

Metal Man (GM): He leaps out of the way.

Vile: "That you are not experienced enough to beat me. Allow me to demonstrate!"

Metal Man (GM): He revs up and then flies at Dragoshi like a rocket. And again! And again! And again! And one last time! 15 damage a hit. 15 damage... 30 damage.

Aribar tries to unleash a Thunderstruck on Vile!*

Digifanatic continues to rotate his ideas--he tries to Icy Kick the guy, and then he follows it up with a flip kick *upward smash*!

Metal Man (GM): Vile is weak, and easy to hit.

Dragoshi: *He dashes to the side of the first, then gets rammed in the guy by the second, stumbles out of the way of the third, sidehops out of the way of the fourth, and gets rammed on the last attempt* "Well, that was... pretty good, actually." *And, with that comment, Dragoshi fires s'more Assault Rifle shots at Vile, because yes.*

Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit, and, surprisingly, miss. Hit. Hit. Vile violently breaks free from the ice, and then hurls another grenade! Threatens all. 50 damage if hit.

Dragoshi: *BLAMMO*

Metal Man (GM): He then decides to punch Dragoshi.

Aribar tries to dive away!*

Metal Man (GM): 15, and... It knocks you back a bit, wasting some of your time.

Digifanatic: *One Mushroom and that's it.*

Aribar groans, feeling particularly dead. The elf downs not one, not two, not five, but THREE Mushrooms!*

Metal Man (GM): Vile laughs and fires two laser shots at Aribar.

Aribar tries to dodge while munching on shrooms!*

Metal Man (GM): 25 damage a hit.

Digifanatic goes on by unloading a huge sonic burst with his old A Day in the Life Trick before finishing up the job with a Fire Punch.

Dragoshi: *Eats two Mushrooms, then activates the Shield Generator and calls it an Arctic Tern. 50 HP shield is go!*

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Aribar tries to smite Vile with a Storm of Blades! The only attack with even a chance of hitting him!*

Metal Man (GM): Aribar: Hit. Vile is looking much weaker now.

Vile: "Guh... I forget, there are so many of you, and only one of me. I will not make this mistake again."

Deloth downs two Mushrooms, thus avoiding 5 HP-hood.

Metal Man (GM): Deloth and Dragoshi's turns, then.

Dragoshi: "Oh, shut up." *And, Dragoshi keeps blastin' away at Vile with the Assault Rifle. Whee*

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Vile: "I don't take orders from fools."

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Dragoshi: "It wasn't an order."

Deloth leaps at Vile with a primal yell, slashing at him twice!

Dragoshi: "How did that fee-... Wait that's dumb."

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Dragoshi: *Sways back and forth. Whee*

Vile: "It felt like your mouth had detached from your body and gained a mind of its own."

Metal Man (GM): Miss on that one, Deloth.

Dragoshi: "Yeah, that happens a lot."

Deloth: "Grrrr..."

Metal Man (GM): Vile opens fire at Deloth with two wrist laser blasts. 25 damage a pop.

Aribar unleashes a whirl of windy blades upon Vile! Three passes with Storm of Blades!*

Metal Man (GM): Deloth is hit by both lasers, taking 50 damage!

Dragoshi: *And, Dragoshi quickly zooms over to Vile and attempts to grab him via the use of his tail, then beat the everloving crap out of him. >_> Twice. Just in case the first fails and all that. <_>*

Deloth flings his arms up, taking both hits. "You're gonna pay for that."

Metal Man (GM): Miss Hit.

Deloth: *Charging up...*

Metal Man (GM): Vile: "I may not have the best punch, but I can still destroy all of you." He chucks another grenade that threatens all of you! Ahhhhhh!!! Death grenade!

Aribar tries to dodge!*

Metal Man (GM): 50 damage.

Deloth: *Splat. Down to 1 life...*

Metal Man (GM): The barrier of Dragoshi's takes all 50 damage for him.

Dragoshi: *Barrier Break.* "Hmph."

Metal Man (GM): The barrier is blown apart. Vile scoffs and shoots a final laser beam at Dragoshi. 25 damage if hit.

Vile: "You cannot evade my powerful lasers with such ancient technology. It is simply foolish. Ha ha ha ha ha."

Dragoshi: "Hmph. It was merely an experimental model, anyway."

Aribar: *3 Mushrooms!*

Vile: "You clearly are not prepared for my abilities."

Aribar: "You haven't killed anyone yet."

Vile: "Au contrare." He points at the crater where Deloth was.

Metal Man (GM): And now Deloth revives.

Aribar: "... But he didn't stay down!"

Deloth: *In Mani Corps!*

Vile: "I'll make sure he does this round."

Dragoshi: "I've faced worse odds..." *Eats a Mushroom, then blasts Vile with another Assault rifle shot as-is traditional. And stuff*

Metal Man (GM): Hit.

Deloth quickly switches to his Fira bracelet and fires a shot of it right at Vile's... er, face? Helmet? Whichever.

Aribar tries to scan Vile with his Smash Dex!

Metal Man (GM): Miss, Deloth.

Dex: "... DING! Vile; HP: 198/250; Dodge: q8; Wrist Laser: q12, Rate 1, Delay 2, 25 damage, Rate 2; Grenade: q8, Threatens all, 50 damage, Delay 2, Rate 1; Air Strike: q10, 15 damage, Rate 4, Delay 1; Knockback Fist: q10, 15 damage, Rate 1, Knocks person back 1 round, Delay 1; One of Sigma's head honchos. Prone to spoiling Mega Man's plans. Somehow he survived the destruction of his faction. End of Entry."

Vile: "It's because I am superior to all others. I shall not let you have this computer. In fact, I shall kill you all with it! Ha ha ha... ha ha ha ha ha!"

Metal Man (GM): He turns around and begins programming on the computer.

Vile: "When I finish this, you shall have no computer!"

Metal Man (GM): He is vulnerable while he reprograms the computer. His hands seem to be able to go right through the barrier. But his back sticks out! You may wish to destroy him quickly--otherwise bad things will happen.

Aribar switches to Holy!*

Computer: "Emergency override is being enabled. All systems rigging to self destruct."

Dragoshi: *Well, since you said quickly, Dragoshi decides to go for quick barrage tactic and spew two acidic bursts at Vile, then follow up with a normal attack*

Metal Man (GM): Hit hit miss. He is weakened. However he is still programming the computer...

Deloth: *Fire Twist! Not one, not two, but THREE, folks! NOW how much would you pay?*

Metal Man (GM): Hit Hit Hit.

Computer: "All systems rigged to explode. Authorization code input beginning."

Dragoshi: "... Adios..." *Dragoshi readies his assault rifle at the back of Vile's head* "... And good fucking riddance." *He then opens fire at full force, attempting to headshot Vile*

Metal Man (GM): Hit. More hits. Vile turns around, his body blown up quite a bit.

Vile: "I have already entered the commands. You merely have damaged one body of many!"

Metal Man (GM): BOOOM!!!

Vile: "Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!"

Metal Man (GM): The computer is still freaking out.

Computer: "Failsafe engaged. Preparing for total self destruct."

Metal Man (GM): You better stop it... if you want it. The barrier is gone.

Dragoshi: "... Tsk. Even if we lose... we still win." *Goes to try and stop it.*

Deloth dashes over to the computer without missing a beat.

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi tries to stop the computer, but... manages to do nothing.

Deloth glances around for a power cord to pull.

Dragoshi: *Attempts to try again, 'cause dammit, I'm not giving up...*

Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi continues to do nothing.

Deloth: *Well, we're sorta sunk then. Still, I suppose there's not much else...*

Aribar (belatedly) tries to search for some means to help...*

Metal Man (GM): *BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM...* Dragoshi's last ditch attempt is glitchy, so while he saves it, he does so by shooting out some monitors. The computer abruptly shuts down, in more or less one piece, but damaged. The area becomes deathly silent. Excess lighting dims.

Deloth: "... Talk about your catch-22s..."

Dragoshi: "..." *Dexes Metal* "'Ey, Metal. We got the computer. It's in one piece, but... It's damaged." *one piece for the most part "The monitors are gonna need some fixing."

Metal Man: (Dex) "You mean it wasn't when you first found it? Hm... well, I guess that's okay. We'll turn on the warp then." WARP! You and the computer arrive at HQ. Metal Man salutes.

Metal Man: "That should do, then. You are dismissed. I'll call you once we're done trying to decipher the messages..."

Dragoshi: "Understood." *Exits*
