Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 15: Marbled Morality
Date: November 12th, 2008.
Metal Man (GM): The group went over to an island with Jack, and Jack told them a fascinating story about how it had once been a battleground. As they assisted him, he led them into ruins and then into Eggman's last stand. Inside, the true source of Eggman's power was discovered--immense wealth from stolen statues. And many of these status had powerful stones, rumored to have been what aided Eggman's pursuits.
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn and Keikyoku played with the stones while talking about how skeletons reanimate from the ground. Apparently, the stones had ears, as suddenly all the dead things in the cave came to life. Jack and the group struggled their way out and made off with three statues. Jack is now going to sell them at Station Square, to some... 'dealers' of unknown quality.
Metal Man (GM): All the while, Deloth rested, very far away from undead monsters and work. Now the group is almost to Station Square. While out at sea, they are near... the ruins of the Egg Carrier, which is almost entirely submerged. Jack is atop the ship, as it's on autopilot for now. He looks over at the ruined Egg Carrier and smirks.
Jack: "Hm... we should hit that up too... we could pillage all of Eggman's wealth and live like kings!"
Deloth: "Now, when you say 'we', you mean 'You', am I right?"
Digifanatic: .oO(I'm not sure if I want any of this guy's ideas again...)
Aribar: "I thought GUN scavenged all of the above-water goods from it a long time ago."
Digifanatic: .oO(Thank you Deloth.)
Jack: "Yes... but the below-water ones... are just as untouched as those underground ones. And he's bound to have hidden what inspired his madness somewhere... I mean, nobody just becomes a genius."
Aribar: "Oh, yes! Let us come upon another cache of world-ending emeralds..."
Jack: "I don't want any of those, it was two fools amongst you who liked tempting them."
Deloth: "You're evading my question."
Dragoshi: "...I don't see why not. Hell, maybe we can even rise it up from the depths of the ocean."
Jack: "Yes! With some of our money, we could have that done. And it's a shipwreck, so it doesn't belong to anyone. Even then, Station Square's police are wimps. Ever since that incident with Chaos they feel helpless."
Metal Man (GM): The ship moves by the ruins, now approaching Station Square.
Deloth: "...allow me to rephrase." *speaking slowly and clearly.* "Are you going to take everything and run if we say yes?"
Jack: "No, no. We would share! Because without your willingness to endanger your lives, we wouldn't be as far as we are now."
Metal Man (GM): He leans on his staff.
Flaeyn: "I'd be flattered if that actually meant something..."
Digifanatic: "Look, Jack... Borne was one thing... we had no choice there."
Jack: "I always took the safe bets in life, because I don't want to be hurt, but you're... weird people... who have no fear of death."
Jack: "I thought I hated everyone, but in a way, I like you people. A tiny bit. The ones of you who don't go nuts or touch bad things."
Keikyoku: "Well most of us have been dead."
Metal Man (GM): The ship is reaching the small dock in Station Square.
Deloth: "I elect to take Kei's share on the grounds that I did NOT send in a swarm of skeletons."
Jack: "Ha ha. Ha ha ha ha. No share for Kei at all. Or you. I only pay the people who help. Dragon guy, one-armed man... uhhhh..."
Deloth shrugs. "Worth a shot."
Digifanatic: "Well... I tend to be one of the more sane people in the group--or at least I try to be."
Jack: "Digital guy. So... that's... four people."
Flaeyn: "Well it's like my Godhand didn't help at all." He shrugs.
Digifanatic: "I thought I never told you my nickname."
Jack: "You play with rocks, you don't get paid squat."
Keikyoku: "I put the fuse in so we could lock the door."
Jack: "Whatever your name is. You just give that sense of... whatever."
Metal Man (GM): He's probably referring to 'nerd' or 'geek' in appearance.
Deloth: "Kei, you're a dumbass and you nearly got the group killed. You're lucky the others stopped me from throwing you overboard."
Jack: "Now, of course, before we land, let me set the tone, so we don't have any more chaos this time."
Dragoshi: *Just absentmindedly flexing his left claw as per usual.*
Keikyoku: "You'd have to throw Flaeyn over too, he helped."
Dragoshi: *Nods.* "Do go on..."
Jack: "If you wish to join in on this and work together, first thing's first. Angel man and stone-moving guy aren't allowed in. I don't take risks like that after nearly being burned once. They can make sure nobody else comes in and interferes. I'm sure they're good at smashing skulls."
Deloth looks to the sky. "Thank you."
Jack: "Assuming nobody harasses us inside, they'll get a share of what we find. Anyway."
Keikyoku: "I'm o.k. at it."
Jack: "These statues, I know, are about... a thousand coins apiece. We're going to need to spend two thousand to raise the craft. Is that okay with the people who would be effectively paying that part as a whole with me? As in, people who I am going to share the money with. Otherwise I can spend my time staring at rocks until you want to do more excavations."
Dragoshi: "...Sounds good to me."
Jack: "And you... person... who... is..." He just looks at Digi. "And... one-armed guy?" He looks to Aribar.
Aribar: "We need a ship and, sans being sunk, it probably fits all of our needs. I guess I will vote that we raise it."
Digifanatic: "I'm fine... and you may call me Ian."
Jack: "Okay... .that's a majority... though if... nameless guy has an issue, I can consider it." He smirks. "Okay, Ian." He sets the boat off for the port, and walks off. "You may come with me, I'm going to talk to my associates."
Digifanatic: *walks with the others.*
Keikyoku: "Can I help excavate, I won't touch anything..."
Aribar: "No offense, but last time you raised the undead..."
Metal Man (GM): He walks away... carting out the statues. There is a group of men assembled on the dock.
Deloth: "Kei, if you DO try to come in and I catch you, I will kill you with my bare hands."
???: "Whoa... whoa... what? It can't be! The priceless treasures!"
Aribar grudgingly follows Jack.
???2: "I've seen better."
Dragoshi: *Casually follows behind Jack.*
Metal Man (GM): The first man is an archaeologist. He is dusty and wears sort of torn, old-fashioned clothing. The second man looks to be a wealthy antiquities dealer.
Deloth decides to hang around on the boat.
Keikyoku grabs a bucket of water and grudgingly washes himself.
Metal Man (GM): The third one... is one of Trevor's men. He has that same sort of speech and behavior. He doesn't really notice the Questers, though. He probably hasn't heard of them.
???: "I can offer..." He opens his wallet and looks. "..." He looks down. "100 coins is all I have!"
???2: "For this old garbage? I'm half interested in giving it to the poor loser."
Deloth: *restrains thoughts of grabbing the bucket and stoving Kei's stubborn skull in with it...*
???3: "There could be some very useful military applications of this... I would say more like 300."
Jack: "We risked undead monsters, and you guys can't pay us more than the value of a used car with three wheels? I could just melt them down."
???: "Uhhh... no! Uhhh... I'll get a loan? 350?!?!"
???2: "I might pay more for pure gold than this nonsense."
???3: "...Undead monsters, you say?"
Dragoshi: "...yes. Undead monsters."
Flaeyn: "Sigh. Yes."
???3: "We could use undead monsters."
???3: "Tell me where they are and I will pay you the full price that these are worth."
Deloth: *mumbling.* "You could use a lot of things..."
Aribar frowns. As expected, this deal is becoming just as seedy and unlikable as he thought it would be. "We're selling statues; not the dead."
???2: "Hmph. Undead monsters. Not useful."
Jack: "Yeah, but... as it is, we can't get much out of a cheapskate, a snob, and a guy who wants monsters, unless we offer it."
Keikyoku snickers quietly, at least the undead he helped release are somewhat useful.
???3: "I raise my price to 500 for all three, as I want them either way."
???: "Well, I'm tapped out..."
Deloth shoots a deathglare at Kei.
???2: "Its artistic value is weak."
Metal Man (GM): The other two walk away, leaving the shady man.
???3: "So... 500... or 4000 coins. Your choice."
Jack: "Well... uhhh... you are... quite strange... but..." He looks to Aribar, Dragoshi, and co. "This is... your choice, I'd be all for selling him undead monsters though. I mean. I know they'll chase the statues mindlessly, from what we saw..."
Digifanatic: *to the others.* "Yeah, really... as long as we tell them the right place, right?"
Flaeyn: "They'd probably be used against us in place of humanoid soldiers..."
???3: "We're on our way to overthrowing an oppressive government. Soldiers who need no upkeep and go anywhere without thinking would be impressive."
Flaeyn: "...Yeah, see?"
Aribar: .oO(So, in the end, Jack's excavation caused us nothing but problems.)
???3: "I would not use it against you. You are the owners. We know how curses go."
Dragoshi: .oO(Good move... Good move.)
Aribar: "... Personally, I like the deal that the archaeologist offered."
???3: "350 coins. For three statues made of pure gold."
Flaeyn: "Besides... 4000 seems a little cheap for an army of undead--who'll be a key part in overthrowing a whole government..."
???3: "You could make that many rings out of pure gold if you melted these down. Well... I can pay more... if it is a full army and all."
Dragoshi: "...pretty much."
Jack: "...So... riches and selling an undead army, or a little money and ending it there. How funny that it comes down to such a question."
Flaeyn: "So offer."
Keikyoku taps Jack on the shoulder.
Jack: "Up to my... business associates."
Metal Man (GM): He ignores Keikyoku and turns to Dragoshi and Aribar and Digi.
Jack: "I'm in favor of the undead sale... how about you?"
Keikyoku: *whispering to the others.* "What about the emeralds?"
Dragoshi: "I'm... neutral, in all honesty." :/
Flaeyn starts to whisper to the others. "I still don't think it's a good idea, nonetheless if we are going to get paid for it, it has to be costly."
Keikyoku: "Well he would probably find them and possibly use them."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... and what if he can't control their power? He goes insane, right?"
Jack: "..." He looks up, then looks down again. "I would have to ask that, as this would include the location they came from, you would abstain from using the stones there, for they are evil."
???3: "Of course, Jack. You are the authority on these things."
Aribar tries not to betray his shock as Keikyoku whispers that. The half-elf forgot about the -source- of the undead.* "I think the best option would be to just melt the statues down into rings..."
Flaeyn: "Exactly what I mean, he'd use them against us--or the world then we have to go through a cliched RPG storyline. Only that we don't have a Princess, or a King."
Jack: "So... Dragon guy has no opinion... the one-armed guy wants to melt down holy statues... and I want the money. It's up to you, Ian. Pick one of those three. Er. Please have an opinion. I don't want to flip a coin."
Digifanatic: "Well, I don't mind not raising the craft... And right now, just taking the safer bet is probably more relieving for us."
Flaeyn: "I say no, or we're getting a heck of a lot of money for them."
Dragoshi: "...Technically, 4k is a 'heck of a lot of money.'" :/
Jack: "Well... that equates to the safe option, then."
Flaeyn: "It's not enough for paying for a whole army..."
???3: "I can offer up to 10,000 for an entire army, and your permission to occupy the island."
Dragoshi: "...Yes, Ari?"
Aribar turns to the mystery man.* "What are you going to use the statues for?"
???3: "We deal in arms trafficking. Money is nothing. Oh, simple. We will display them in Trevor's base."
Keikyoku: "I could care less what we do, but I'm kinda siding with Flaeyn."
???3: "He is a fine art collector."
Flaeyn: "The second part... not really agreeing with it." He's referring to the part about occupying the island. .oO(We'd end up with another Eggman..)
???3: "If you should not want us to find the undead people. I see you are worried... I shall make sure you have nothing to worry about."
Deloth: "Could I still swim there?"
Aribar sighs... Now the half-elf is conflicted. He barely trusts Trevor; what would prevent him from somehow locating the statue's original resting place?
???3: "...Well, yes... if you undertook to allow us the entire island... we would remain your friends."
Flaeyn: "Okay, seriously, no. I'd be a real pain if we had to deal with your butt in the future just for some money we'd spend easily."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... I'm siding towards the cheap offer myself..."
???3: "Of course. I shall pay 500 coins then."
Aribar tries to think... Trevor gave them a grand for buying just a few guns and a computer... These people obviously have a lot of money... "Wait..."
Keikyoku: "Well I'd be for taking the money but I don't get any either way so I don't care what we do."
Aribar: "The undead monsters... We just lead you to the island and then you take it from there?"
Dragoshi: *Just continues listening.*
Aribar: "When would we get the money?"
Digifanatic: *leans in to Aribar and whispers.* "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a briefcase.
???3: "I have 5000 on my person. The rest would be obtained as soon as possible. Of course, this depends... on how much you wish to sell. We are buyers in an empty market."
Aribar shrugs at Digi. He doesn't know what he is thinking... He wishes that the statues just fell into the depths of the ocean...
Digifanatic: *w to Aribar.* "I was thinking if he got the money up front, we'd 'lock' him up and make him deal with all that jazz himself..."
Jack: "Well... I just want to sell them, either way, so just tell me when you have your minds made up on what to sell..."
Keikyoku: "How much would you pay for a gun stapler with 25 staples?"
Aribar: *w* "And he doesn't have it all... As much as I hate to say it, I think I'm going to have to vote to lead him to the monsters... I don't trust Trevor; I think he would use his technology to go there in any case. I think I'm changing my vote to leading you to the island... However..."
???3: "A stapler... I buy big ticket items."
Aribar: "We should get at least fifteen grand, if not more. This is not simply an undead army that you will use for a single ocassion."
Deloth: "Let's just take him there. I'm getting bored of this argument."
Keikyoku: "Oh, well that's the best thing I have besides about a fourth of a bottle of admin booze."
???3: "So... selling me the undead for 4000, or the whole island for 10,000?"
Aribar hates this deal. It is going against the half-elf's morales and he feel as if he's stuck in a corner and has no way out... "Ah, forgot about the difference there... What would you do with the island?"
Jack: "Well, as much as I'd like to sell the whole island, it isn't mine to sell."
Digifanatic: "Same here..." *to Dragoshi.* "And he may put up some crazy base we don't want to deal with..."
Jack: "It belongs to GUN, and you know big political types. This is to be our little secret."
???3: "I understand..."
Flaeyn: "Wait, wait, what happened to not selling the island?"
Dragoshi: *Shrugs, having no idea...*
Jack: "So. That's me and One-armed man. That leaves Ian, if he has any input."
Aribar: "Then we would just sell the location of the island as well as the monsters... That is still worth far more than four thousand rings. Think about it; you aren't going to use this army for just your revolution. In any future wars, would you not use them? Would you not use them to guard your boarders?"
Flaeyn: "No, no, heck no. Don't you realize what the hell could happen if we sell him that island?" He says towards Aribar.
Aribar: "Yes, I do."
Digifanatic: "I'd gladly take 4K any day."
Dragoshi: "Yea. 4k sounds good."
???3: "4K is my standing offer. As you might have suspected, we could potentially find out where the island is, even if you hurled the statues into the ocean." He smirks. "I believe you have just realized your position. 4K for the location. 500 for only the statues. Or you can make no deal at all."
Jack: *Turns to Questers.* "Hm... you guys all act strange around this guy. Do you know him?"
Flaeyn: "You're bluffing..." Referring to the finding out location part.
Jack: "I'm all for this, but, if you know something I should know... I don't want to be tricked, if you know my drift."
Dragoshi: "...We won't be tricked."
Jack: "That's not my question." He points to the man. "You seem to know about him, or something. What is it you know?"
Flaeyn: "We've already said too much. We might as well not sell the island, and kill him off. He knows too much." He said, whispering back to the group.
???3: "Well, I work for Trevor. But of course, nobody on this island knows who he is..."
Aribar mutters to Jack, "He's somehow related to the Trevor who helped us win the battle against Borne..."
Dragoshi: "That he is."
Jack: "? And... why don't you tell him you've worked with Trevor before? I mean... Trevor is his boss... or something... I think he would not want to stiff old allies. We could keep tabs on him, too."
Flaeyn: "Uh. No. I'm voting we kill him off and forget about this."
Jack: "You also picked up shiny rocks and summoned undead."
Aribar: "... Any objections to telling him who we are?"
Jack: "Clearly, if we kill him, we attract more bad company."
Keikyoku sits down and fiddles with his gun pen.
Flaeyn: "We're not telling him who we are either."
Dragoshi: "I have no objections."
Keikyoku sits down and fiddles with his gun pen.
Aribar: "... I'm tired of this." *Aribar turns back to look at ???.* "We know who Trevor is; we've worked with him before. We're the Questers."
Digifanatic: .oO(Well, that makes things interesting.)
Metal Man (GM): He stands there for a moment... and then shakes his head.
???3: "My apologies. I thought you were... just Jack's lackeys."
Aribar: "This. This is why I hate secrecy and lies."
Flaeyn: "Jack's... lackeys..." He twitches a brow at that.
Joe: "I am... Joe Ringer. Or so they call me. It is my job to acquire new resources for Trevor... at any cost. Your undead could win the war for us. But if you, as associates of Trevor, mark it off limits... well... I can't do squat. So. Do you want the big money or the small money, or none at all? We can... do this without any of the rumble tumble I do to less important people."
Metal Man (GM): He seems afraid of the Questers to an extent.
Aribar: "I certainly do not speak for the others, but I would much sooner rather offer my own services for a price to Trevor than sell anything. This is my final stand; the others can decide what to do."
Flaeyn: "I'd feel much better with that...", he proclaims, agreeing with Aribar.
Digifanatic: "That sounds doable..."
Dragoshi: *Just stays silent, swaying back and forth slightly.*
Jack: "Well, I guess I'll go find another seller, then."
Joe: "Meh." He walks off.
Aribar: "... I suppose he did not want our services either."
Deloth sighs. "Well, what now, now that a possible 4K is down the tubes?"
Dragoshi: .oO(Thus, nothing was accomplished, time was wasted and we prolly' should've just taken the 4k. Man, we're loving idiots. :/)
Flaeyn: "What would we do with 4k that our combat skills couldn't?"
Jack: "Well... next time we don't mention undead."
Deloth: "Buy things instead of shooting them?"
Jack: "Don't worry... there's another port to sell it in."
Metal Man (GM): He begins pushing the statues onto the boat.
Jack: "Shall we go?"
Flaeyn: "Well, wait, first off he knows of the existence of the undead... We should at least do that tabs idea now."
Aribar just heads back to the boat.
Digifanatic: "That doesn't sound half bad, but if you something else, I'm willing to accept suggestions."
Dragoshi: *Heads back onto the boat. A-yep.*
Jack: "Well, you're one of Trevor's associates. In the lingo, that means Trevor respects you, and vice versa."
Deloth: "By the way, Kei, could you come over here for a sec?"
Jack: "So you don't have to worry about them. Now, had we done this with... thugs... Then it'd be time to kill people."
Metal Man (GM): He kicks the throttle into gear, and the boat begins moving off again.
Dragoshi: "...and kill them but good."
Jack: "Expect to be bothered about possibly selling the location later, though. He was a buyer all right."
Deloth heads over to Kei, then.
Flaeyn sighs. "Oh what horrors have we created. Who even mentioned the undead anyway?"
Keikyoku heads away.
Deloth: *...Right before an attempt at a grab, using all available appendages.*
Jack: "I forget."
Flaeyn: "...It was you, wasn't it?"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth grabs a mop.
Aribar: "I think it was the buyer first, and then someone confirmed it."
Deloth drops that and grabs at Kei again.
Flaeyn: "Sigh. Then it was you."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth grabs Kei... Jack turns around and points his staff at Deloth and Kei.
Jack: "You know, I could just kill you both with this staff. Do you want that?"
Deloth: "C'mon, all I wanna do is dunk him a bit."
Keikyoku starts turning green.
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a pistol and shoots an inch above Deloth's head.
Jack: "And I want to give you a new air hole."
Dragoshi: *Glares at Del and Kei.* "Kill eachother after we're done."
Flaeyn: "Off him. Even if he is a little..." He stares at Kei and pauses for awhile. "...It'd be nice to have as many hands as possible."
Deloth grouchily lets go and returns to his seat. "I'll kill you later, rodent."
Jack: "We must conduct our business properly. Otherwise we may well leap to the bottom of the sea."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers see... another island.
Dragoshi: "Pretty much, yea."
Deloth: "It's just a quick splash or two, ya pansies."
Keikyoku pukes over the side of the boat.
Flaeyn looks annoyed at the two, then turns to the others. "Is this daily routine or something?"
Metal Man (GM): He looks at the gun.
Jack: "I wish they would both die already."
Digifanatic: "Why both of them? Deloth hasn't done a bad thing."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers begin to see a lab on the outskirts of the Western island.
Metal Man (GM): He begins laughing.
Flaeyn: "Well... Deloth is pretty bratty..."
Jack: "Taking things into his own hands, going extreme over small things... Deloth is the key which completes the circle with the weirdo who touches stones. You can't have without the other."
Flaeyn's openly saying that with the person in question beside him.
Keikyoku crawls into a corner.
Jack: "And the other guy needs to take some sea sickness tablets or something. I've never seen him eat, but he never stops puking. It's, like, some kind of magical curse."
Deloth: "Hey, it wasn't unreasonable at all. Just a couple of dunkings and I would have gotten it out of my system."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers land ashore as Jack waxes on about stuff.
Deloth pops a few seagulls instead. Soon, soon...
Jack: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. First thing I do when I finish with these things is dump you off somewhere. Now I know you can't scare this buyer away. He has some money but he also isn't evil in the slightest."
Metal Man (GM): He pushes the statues off and walks towards a small lab with a bunch of solar panels it, nestled on the beach.
Deloth casually hops off of the boat and starts walking.
Aribar: "We'll see about that..." *follows the others.*
Deloth: "I dunno. I kind of enjoy in-strife sometimes. Keeps everyone on their toes."
Dragoshi: *Follows along, walking at a normal pace.*
Flaeyn follows from behind again.
Metal Man (GM): A familiar orange fox walks out. It's Tails. He stares at the statues like they came from another dimension.
Deloth: "Heya, kiddo."
Tails: "Whoa... what are you guys doing here... with him... with priceless statues you shouldn't have taken? Everybody knows that Eggman financed his wealth with those statues. It's just that nobody who bought them survived to tell the tale!"
Flaeyn shrugs. "I really have no say in the matter. I'm not getting a share anyway."
Jack: "...The more I think about it, the more I hate these statues."
Aribar: "So you wouldn't be interested in them then..."
Tails: "Of course... I assume you want to sell them and be rid of them, so the curse doesn't get you."
Deloth: "What curse?"
Tails: "I couldn't buy them, but I do know where they belong!"
Dragoshi: "...I thought it was those statues with the jewels in them that were cursed."
Tails: "Well. The souls of the ancient civilization which made them still live... and exist to protect the statues. It was a simple anti-vandalism spell..."
Flaeyn: "Well I'd think the statues would be cursed as well, I mean, the Jewels 'stick' to them..."
Keikyoku: "Well I moves the gems around to different statues..."
Tails: "...But it got out of control when all the people who monitored spells died..."
Deloth: "Souls, souls..."
Aribar: "... We can attest to that..."
Deloth: "Those skeletons that we buried?"
Tails: "...And now the spells have become generalized so that all who even contact it are cursed."
Metal Man (GM): He looks around nervously.
Tails: "Even me!"
Deloth: "And that happened to be a certain SOMEONE'S fault?" *shoots a glare at Keikyoku.*
Tails: "It doesn't matter who activated the spell. Once activated, by moving it too much or touching it, you will be chased by spirits and undead. Eggman built his robotic army to such an extent the spell fell dormant. He deprived the areas around him of all soul. But then he died."
Deloth shrugs. "I seem to have bad luck following me around anyways. No biggie."
Digifanatic: "Hey, I never touched any of them..."
Tails: "Or... so he would want us to think. I don't think he's dead. ...Anyway..." He looks at Jack. "You should have known better!"
Keikyoku: "Why do you keep on blaming just me, I mean I can't take all the blame, a certain angel guy helped."
Dragoshi: .oO(That's 'cause he's undead.)
Jack: "I did. I had all the spells memorized. I even brought a part of the place they stayed in. I fooled these statues."
Deloth: "You. Flaeyn. Did you specifically set that off or just fiddle with them a bit?"
Flaeyn: "Well yes--then again we're dealing with Souls. Exorcism--that's a Grim Angel's job. That means, I can take care of myself, you however, can't." Referring to Kei.
Tails: "...Still... whoever you sold them to would be cursed."
Jack: "Exactly! Of course. I didn't know they could be activated again, after being fooled. Perhaps we should be going now. I know a certain shifty character who the Questers wouldn't mind cursing."
Tails: "You don't have to do that. There is a shrine where they came from, it's on an island few people know about. I'd not tell the likes of you, but..."
Metal Man (GM): He turns to the Questers.
Tails: "They seem more trustworthy."
Dragoshi: *Sways back and forth slightly, listening...*
Aribar: "Returning them is perhaps the best option I've heard all day."
Flaeyn: "I wouldn't mind returning them."
Keikyoku: "Hmm I like the shrine option."
Jack: "But... the money! Think of it..." He looks at the Questers. "Well..." He shrugs. "I'll take my portion. I know all the little secrets... mostly. Undead... we buried them."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a statue and begins walking to his ship.
Jack: "You guys can keep the other two."
Deloth: "Ah, the life of a Quester. Get a big chance offered to you and toss it away for morality's sake."
Tails: "Let him go. He'll be destroyed by the curse." He shakes his head. "Where were you guys when Borne nearly took over, anyway?"
Aribar: "On another continent getting help to fight him..."
Deloth: "Getting an army together."
Aribar: "Have you heard of a man named Trevor? Of a continent called Continia?"
Tails: "...Hm. So... you would know why strange men began appearing throughout our realm. So that's where they come from..."
Tails: "...They tried to buy some of my technology, promising they'd only use it to kill 'The Feds.' Naturally, I showed them the door."
Digifanatic: "That sounds about correct."
Tails: "They've probably procured a lot, though. They're selling strange laser weapons."
Digifanatic: "So does that."
Deloth flinches involuntarily at the sound of that. "Really now..."
Tails: "The Thugs... they're mostly gone now, too. They've been ousted by these men. What was left of them. Borne killed most of them. So. You know where these statues came from?"
Metal Man (GM): He turns to face the... Egg-o-matic...
Tails: "...Eggman's old base."
Aribar: "Aye... And their anti-vandalism curse activated while we were there..."
Tails: "Well. I know you need money, and I don't have a lot, but. I can give you some other useful things, if you come with me. Well, you don't have much choice. If you leave, the curse will remain on you."
Metal Man (GM): The boat, with Jack on it, takes off.
Flaeyn: "I'm fine without being paid myself."
Deloth: "I'm used to being broke. Let's roll."
Tails: "I'll get a helicopter and we can go to the island I speak of. There we can undo the damage... well... for us. Just wait a moment, and we can begin preparing to leave... you are all all right, right?"
Digifanatic: "As far as I know, I'm okay."
Deloth: "I'm fine. Got a couple of scars from that train incident, but other than that..."
Dragoshi: "Let... Yea. I'm good."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a communicator and talks a bit. A few moments go by. Jack's ship vanishes in the distance. Eventually, a helicopter flies in.
Tails: "I dislike boats... they take so long people become angry and do rash things, like Jack."
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter lands with a 'CLUNK.' A certain man with a mustache is piloting it.
Franze: "Goood eeeevening, Quezterrs!"
Aribar: "... Greetings."
Franz: "Eet haz been a looong teem."
Dragoshi: "That it has."
Flaeyn: "Who's he?"
Franz: "It is I, Franz... I shall take you too ze secret eyeland!"
Deloth hops into the copter. GET IN DA CHOPPA!
Flaeyn gets in too, a little cramped. "..."
Digifanatic: *hops in.*
Dragoshi: *Enters el choppa.*
Metal Man (GM): Tails gets in. As a co-pilot.
Tails: "I'll make sure he doesn't accidentally wreck the chopper like I've heard he... likes to do."
Deloth: "...Interesting life we have. We're never rich, we almost never get a day off, and yet we get to see lifetimes' worth of sights."
Keikyoku gets in happily.
Franz: "Waaat? I don't do zat! Only on... Fridays."
Aribar gets in the helicopter.
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter slowly takes off, and is now flying to the Northwest.
Keikyoku pokes Tails "Do you have any healing items?"
Flaeyn: "I wouldn't feel right with the world with a day off, really."
Tails: "Not on me at the moment..."
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter slowly approaches a very small island, which is practically underwater.
Deloth: "Dang. It IS a small world."
Tails: "I found out about this island while searching for Eggman. He found it first. Ever wonder why things are so chaotic here?"
Keikyoku: "What is this place?"
Deloth: "I figured it was due to us. Insanity seems to tag along with the badge."
Tails: "No. You wish it was you. Then it would be easy to fix."
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter hovers over the island.
Tails: "Eggman found this place and stole from it the chaos emeralds and the statues. Ever since then, the world has never been right. It has been a hope of mine to undo that, but I had no idea he hid it in his original base... Now, however, we can put these back, and minimize the damage by finding the others. Eventually."
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter begins to float down.
Flaeyn: "How didn't he get killed by skeletons over there? Or some kind of defense mechanism?"
Tails: "His soulless nature dispels magic."
Deloth: "And you're sure he wasn't secretly doing something like sealing away an ancient evil or something?"
Tails: "He had to die before the spirits could reassert themselves. Eggman is a fan of ancient evil. Every time he got a chance, he'd open it up and let it out. Then it'd overwhelm him... originally he was adept at it and things like this only served to aid him. Then he became greedy and unleashed Chaos."
Flaeyn: "Wait, wait, I just forgot. Shouldn't we split up? One group should fetch the statues before that guy gets them the other, goes with the actual journey of returning them back."
Keikyoku: "No one answered me, what is this place?"
Tails: "I said... an ancient temple. That is all. Perhaps... an underwater temple?"
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter lands, leaving barely enough room to stand on a stone slab encrusted with some dirt.
Metal Man (GM): Tails gets out.
Keikyoku climbs in the Egg-o-matic. "I vote helping bring the statues to the temple."
Deloth: "YOU are not going to touch anything."
Keikyoku: "I know I won't." *Climbs out of the Egg-o-matic.*
Tails: "This is a holy place. Only an attempt to defile it would get you harmed..."
Metal Man (GM): Tails stares at the ground.
Tails: "But I've never found out how to get in here... perhaps you could help?"
Metal Man (GM): He points at an inscription in a completely alien language.
Keikyoku examines it.
Deloth kneels down and examines it, checking how long it the message is.
Keikyoku tries chanting the stuff he heard after the gems reanimated the skeletons.
Metal Man (GM): Julian, who somehow wandered off, fell asleep in the helicopter, then wound up here is awakened to Keikyoku chanting weird gibberish. It's pretty annoying.
Tails: "...Well, that sounds like the language... what does that mean?"
Flaeyn: "Just what are you chanting?"
Aribar looks at the inscriptions... The half-elf wishes that he had some translation spells.
Metal Man (GM): The inscription is about 2 feet by 2 feet square.
Keikyoku: "I have no clue, I heard it after the gems got activated, I thought it might open the door."
Deloth: "Hmm... I wonder if I can crack this like a cipher. The message is pretty long."
Tails: "So it was a warning of some kind."
Keikyoku: "I just thought it might open the door."
Tails: "That's... close..." He looks at the characters.
Julian: "Zzzzzz-hnksh." *Julian rubs the sand out his eyes and look out the helicopter.* "...Where we at now?"
Franz: "We are aaat... Zeee Island!"
Deloth: "Afternoon, Julian."
Dragoshi: "'Ello, Julian."
Flaeyn: "Another new face for me..."
Deloth: "...I still think I might be able to decipher this with straight cracking. I'd need some paper and a pencil to try, though."
Digifanatic: *muttering to Julian.* "Hey Jules. Don't worry about weird accent guy, just keep a leash on that little freak..."
Keikyoku: "Hmm I wonder if I just say random words that I heard in that language it might open..."
Deloth: "No, Kei."
Digifanatic: *still muttering.* "Knowing you, I'm sure you could give him a 'lesson' or two."
Julian: *Julian waves weakly, still waking up.* "...Who you s'posed to be?" *directed at Flaeyn.*
Keikyoku produces... his GUN pen!!!
Deloth: "...And the paper?"
Keikyoku hands it to Deloth. "Here ya go."
Tails: "Well... okay." He steps back for Deloth to try.
Julian: *to Digi.* "Already know 'bout the pilot... What's he do?" *thumbs at Kei.*
Digifanatic: "Screws things up... you'll see."
Deloth: "He wrecks things. Julian, please, please, PLEASE, do not let him touch or say anything that he knows nothing about."
Digifanatic: "And once he does... you have my thumbs up." *grins.*
Deloth then turns back to the message and starts using the ages-old trick of the substitution cipher. He looks for symbols that are apparently single letters by themselves.
Julian: "Believe it when I see it... Anyway."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth begins writing 'The bus goes honk honk and the wheels go round.' Digi decodes what it is, then forgets it, and has no paper to put it on.
Deloth crumples up the paper and tosses it away in disgust.
Digifanatic: "Hang on... another sheet of paper, please? And Deloth, may I please borrow the pen?"
Keikyoku takes his pen the paper and uncrumples the paper, then tries.
Julian: *Julian exits the chopper proper, equipment bag in tow. Description? Black male, 5'11, dreads, fedora, wearing a baseball jersey with a white A-shirt underneath, with blue jeans and sweet kicks.*
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku writes 'It's the fun place to go to the dentist.'
Julian: "...So what're we doin'? Trying to crack this... whatever?"
Tails: "Hm. ... This is no substitution. It's another language. We can't find it out this way. The ancients didn't speak our language."
Flaeyn: "It would seems so." He crosses his arms, and waits for the others. He figures three people is enough to decipher.
Deloth: "...I suppose it's a relief to learn that my old code knowledge wasn't THAT rusty."
Julian: *Waits for the others to solve it.* :|
Metal Man (GM): He takes out the statues.
Tails: "Who needs to find out?"
Metal Man (GM): He takes a statue and sticks it on the ground. The ground begins shaking.
Digifanatic: "Well, that's a good Plan B."
Tails: "I figure the temple would open to receive statues that belong to it."
Deloth: "...I thought earthquakes always spelled disaster."
Metal Man (GM): The ground rises... rises... shakes... *THUNK* There's stairs down to a second level, with an open door. Water slowly flows out of this all-stone temple.
Julian: "So... We goin' in?"
Deloth: "So now we swim?"
Flaeyn: "What else are we going to do? Honestly..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... I guess."
Keikyoku slinks back from the water.
Metal Man (GM): Tails begins to take the statues down the steps. They're above water.
Digifanatic: "Oh, okay then... Tails, you okay with those?"
Julian: "Fuck you, man, I been takin' a nap. For all I know we's 'sposed to throw a penny in there an' make a wish."
Tails: "Yes. Just come with me. There is something in here..."
Dragoshi: *Slowly follows behind Tails.* "Understood."
Metal Man (GM): He disappears inside the temple.
Julian: *Into the temple!*
Deloth heads down the steps as well.
Metal Man (GM): Well. There is a wide open room inside. It's a wide hallway.
Aribar goes to follow Tails inside... The mage wonders what awaits them inside.
Metal Man (GM): There's a massive locked door, and another unreadable inscription.
Keikyoku follows reluctantly.
Deloth: "...Julian, I really missed you and your trademark verbal beatdowns."
Flaeyn follows into the temple, sighing at Julian. "Well do you have a penny?"
Metal Man (GM): There's many, many spots for statues. The two statues the Questers have float out and fit two spots... of 20.
Deloth: "...Aw, man."
Digifanatic: *drops his jaw.* "Oh dear gaaaahhh..."
Tails: "Now... if you want a real reward..." He points at the remaining slots. "You saw statues at Eggman's place, right?"
Julian: "What if I did? You want it?...We gotta get alla these?"
Flaeyn: "So you don't have one. Thought so."
Aribar looks about the empty temple..* "Yes. We saw the ones that are now being guarded by an army of undead robots and GUN soldiers."
Julian: "How you know? You some kinda fuckin' psychic who can see into people's clothes? Pervert."
Tails: "With all of them here... we can restore the energy to this temple and end the chaos... and perhaps see what was lost."
Flaeyn: "Paranoid too. I see."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers look around, and see, in a corner, a defunct Eggman robot.
Keikyoku looks around for anything interesting.
Deloth: "What's the bot for?"
Keikyoku examines it.
Julian: "I'm jus' sayin', you oughta not go makin' assumptions. Makes an ass outta you and mumptions."
Metal Man (GM): It was apparently made to guard the temple.
Digifanatic: "I'd rather head back to the ruins and get as many of the remaining 18 statues..."
Flaeyn: "Sure." He says, giving a very simple response and turns to the others.
Metal Man (GM): It appears to have been electrically isolated so it could survive. It requires manual activation, as a soggy note and a button next to it say.
Deloth leaves it alone for now.
Tails: "Don't touch that robot. Eggman may be dead, but his machines... like to survive."
Keikyoku: "Must resist urge to push shiny button." *skates away depressed.*
Tails: "So... you want to get the other 18 statues?"
Dragoshi: "I... guess."
Tails: "We'll have to... fight a lot of dead stuff. Then."
Julian: *Makes a mocking face behind Flaeyn's back, then turns to tails.* "Where they at?"
Tails: "Only you guys know exactly."
Digifanatic: "Well, we know enough..."
Flaeyn expect that, he just ignores it though--Julian is getting Flaeyn's 'holier-than-thou' attitude thrusted at him.
Tails: "Shall we go, then?"
Digifanatic: "Yes, please..."
Deloth nods and heads out of the temple.
Julian: "Might as well." *Out!*
Aribar: "There is an army of undead robots and soldiers... How are we supposed to fight that?"
Tails: "Sonic's fought entire armies before. I hope you have done similar..."
Keikyoku skates up the stairs.
Deloth: "The same way we did in Oldworld. Blow crap up."
Julian: "Kick they ass, that's what."
Aribar sighs and follows the others.
Deloth: "The place where the oldbies here came from after we ran out of things to do there."
Flaeyn: "We might as well drop in, with one of us snatching the statues while the others try to create an opening in which that person can escape."
Metal Man (GM): The helicopter is now on its way to the island the group was just on. The Questers are now almost there. The helicopter lands.
Tails: "Okay... where did you enter?"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers are next to the docks.
Dragoshi: *Looks for the now-ruined entrance thing to the place. A-yep.*
Deloth: "That big pile of dirt over there, I believe."
Metal Man (GM): They see the old pile o' dirt.
Deloth looks enviously towards the waterfalls again.
Tails: "We'll have to dig it out, then."
Tails: "I can't specifically dig... any of you?"
Julian: "Anyone pack a shovel?"
Flaeyn: "Couldn't we pick at it again?"
Deloth: "I can do a little explosive mining if need be."
Digifanatic: "No shovels, but we didn't need any last time..."
Aribar: "I filled it in with all of my magical energy last time..."
Flaeyn charges his hands up, it shining with light. "Perhaps I should take care of it again."
Deloth casts Explode on the dirt.
Julian: "Whatever, do it."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth blows some of it away.
Deloth: "Heads up."
Metal Man (GM): It's very hard-packed. Yes.
Flaeyn starts beating it over and over again with Godhand.
Metal Man (GM): It's very slow to give. The Questers eventually crack something and it sinks... revealing the way in again.
Tails: "I'll stay out here... look out for Jack if he should come back and try to stop us."
Deloth: *nods approvingly.* "Not bad. Not bad at all."
Aribar: "Why would he try and stop us?"
Flaeyn starts clawing and clearing out the path until people can actually get through the opening.
Tails: "Money... money. He's always craved money."
Digifanatic: "I was just gonna say..."
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn digs through, and now people may walk back in through the ruined entrance.
Digifanatic: *does just so.*
Metal Man (GM): There's still ruined statues laying around. Digi would begin walking through the ancient entrance...
Aribar just follows the others.
Flaeyn dusts off his hands, turning them back to normal. He bows again, motioning everyone to get in before him out of good manner.
Keikyoku skates through.
Deloth heads in, both swords drawn and the AK-47 in the back tentacles so he can switch to it if needed.
Julian: *So, In.*
Metal Man (GM): The room shakes. The ruined statues float into coherent ones and stand in your way. Two of them... giant angels with swords and shields. Strange chanting fills the room. They stay there, watching the Questers.
Deloth: "Er... if you can understand us, we're just here to take the statues back to where they belong."
Flaeyn: "'Tch. I wish we didn't have to fight them."
Metal Man (GM): They don't understand... they if anything are ready to slash the Questers to bits and pieces.
Aribar: "We... Have to fight the states to take them back?"
Deloth sighs. "Not AGAIN..."
Metal Man (GM): These are old, destroyed statues.
Flaeyn: "There must be some way to negotiate..."
Metal Man (GM): They advance on the Questers, with intent to slash.
Julian: "They're fuckin' statues. They don't got ears."
Metal Man (GM): They're made of marble...
Keikyoku: "Where did these guys come from, weren't they locked behind the door?"
Metal Man (GM): They're not golden statues.
Deloth: "Get ready to rumble, guys. Looks like we don't have a choice."
Metal Man (GM): They're the ruined ones the Questers walked past the first time.
Flaeyn: "Watch your mouth, vermin." He decides to fight.
Metal Man (GM): The statues are slow.
Julian: "That's what I like to hear." *Julian produces an aluminum baseball bat from his equipment bag, and gets ready to rumble!*
Aribar unsheathes his sword... The half-elf always hated fighting constructs... Of course, he hated fighting anything..*
Keikyoku looks for something sharp in the ground, maybe the corner of a table.
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku wanders directly into the path of one of the statues. *SLASH*
Deloth watches the carnage with a small bit of malicious glee.
Flaeyn just facepalms.
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku vaguely hits a statue. Statue 2 goes to stomp on Keikyoku. The Statue then spins its sword and goes to stab Aribar with it.
Aribar tries to parry the stab!
Metal Man (GM): *STAB.*
Aribar: "Gah! Blasted statue!"
Metal Man (GM): Statue 1 goes to stab Dragoshi twice. They're high on offense. And that one hit too...
Digifanatic: *And why not give Statue 1 a pair of Fire Punches while he's at it?*
Metal Man (GM): Hit, miss.
Dragoshi: *Attempts to stab Statue 1 back with his own sword. A-yep.*
Metal Man (GM): Two hits. It crumbles into dust. Ruined.
Flaeyn charges into the last statue, doing a quick Godhand assisted uppercut on it.
Metal Man (GM): It stands there, as Flaeyn hits a thick part which takes no damage.
Flaeyn: "Useless." He then ends his turn.
Deloth: *Let's see... two sword swipes on the statue, one with each weapon.*
Metal Man (GM): Hit! Hit!
Julian: *Julian's been getting warmed up, shaking the rust off as everyone else goes. As his turn comes, he cocks his right leg behind himself... then suddenly appears all up in Statue's grill with a foot to the face! Flash Kick!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Julian: *Julian rebounds after kicking the statue in the face, lands, then charges and tries to get 2 quick swings of his bat in.*
Metal Man (GM): One hit.
Julian: *Julian heads back to the line-up.*
Aribar conjures up an icy orb of energy and launches it at the second statue. The orb explodes upon impact and coats the statue with a thick and icy crust.* (Freeze!)
Metal Man (GM): It dodges. One statue left. Finish him!
Keikyoku runs and punches him in the stomach.
Metal Man (GM): Two hits. The statue crumbles. The Questers see the way down... down the stairs. There is no door.
Digifanatic: *Heads down.*
Julian: "Too easy." *Stairs! Hooray!*
Deloth runs down as well.
Dragoshi: *Walks down.*
Metal Man (GM): There the Questers find the room is glowing a healthy orange. Also, the room is filled with floor tiles.
Deloth carefully taps one of the tiles with his foot and quickly ducks.
Keikyoku looks around for healing items.
Aribar: "I don't know how we can do this..."
Julian: "...Ain't trustin' this." *Julian reaches into his equipment bag, pulls out a rock, and throws it into the orange room.*
Metal Man (GM): *SHINK* A chandelier made of spikes falls down onto the ground.
Deloth: "I KNEW it."
Metal Man (GM): *SHINK* Another one falls a distance away.
Digifanatic: "Yup, there are the spikes again."
Julian: "Trap room."
Metal Man (GM): They begin to be pulled back to the ceiling.
Deloth: *Go, go, run, run, run while they're retracting!*
Metal Man (GM): The chandeliers themselves are quite heavy and only have spikes on the bottom...
Julian: *Waits and see if they retract all the way into the ceiling.*
Aribar: "... So all of the traps that were deactivated earlier are not active?"
Metal Man (GM): They would eventually retract back into the ceiling...
Deloth would jump onto one of the chandeliers, then from there to the next, then to the other side. Hopefully.
Metal Man (GM): There's two chandeliers, and Del need two others to leap across. But they haven't been triggered.
Flaeyn wonders if he can just destroy the chandeliers with Sereharde.
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn could try.
Deloth takes the AK-47 and fires a shot at the floor tiles.
Flaeyn then does so.
Julian: *Rocks ahoy! Julian throws enough rocks to trigger enough chandeliers to make a clear path across.*
Metal Man (GM): The chandeliers are seemingly indestructible... but that doesn't matter, many chandeliers are summoned. The Questers can now walk across.
Digifanatic: *walks across.*
Deloth: *NOW heading across.* "So much for my Errol Flynn act."
Flaeyn walks across.
Metal Man (GM): Next up, there are four pistons, filled with magma, slowly moving up and down.
Keikyoku skates across as fast as he can.
Julian: *Across, yeah.*
Metal Man (GM): While standing on them might lead to death, one can just slowly move through whenever they're on the floor. It's not so much an obstacle as annoying. They're pretty hot, though.
Flaeyn wonders if he can just catapult himself across quickly by shooting Sereharde at the ground and letting the explosion carry him.
Deloth takes the safe way and does it all slow-like.
Digifanatic: *just waits for them to drop and will walk through when best to do so.*
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn could, but it might be dangerous.
Keikyoku just casually skates across them.
Flaeyn just follows Digifanatic's pattern then.
Metal Man (GM): At the end, a neon Eggman sign would greet the Questers.
Flaeyn: Tries to read it. "...Hm?"
Metal Man (GM): 'WELC RAP BRAIN ZONE.'
Aribar follows... Some more.
Flaeyn: "What the heck's a 'Welc Rap Brain Zone'?"
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, 'OME' is broken.
Deloth: "A broken sign."
Flaeyn: "I see..."
Metal Man (GM): There's a door that leads in, but it's shut, and the switch is no longer responsive.
Julian: "I know a Scrap Brain Zone... ain't ever heard of a Rap Brain one tho."
Digifanatic: "Well, I do remember seeing Scrap Brain last time we were here."
Flaeyn: "Anyone wanna try blasting through it?"
Metal Man (GM): It's securely locked against intruders, apparently.
Digifanatic: "And that was just a worn out sign."
Keikyoku looks for a lock console.
Metal Man (GM): There's another dirty sign that's text-only and says 'SCRAP BRAIN. NO TRESSPASSING.'
Digifanatic looks to see just how sturdy that door is.
Metal Man (GM): There is no console... and the door is solid steel.
Digifanatic: "Ugh... lot more sturdy than the door we broke down before..."
Flaeyn: "So that's a no go..."
Metal Man (GM): It's that door Flaeyn's god Hand bounced off of. Of course... there's a lot of electricity running through that sign just near it...
Julian: "Couldn't help ya there... someone wanna try divertin' the power to the switch?"
Metal Man (GM): The mining equipment is laying near the switch.
Flaeyn removes them from the switch to see what'll happen.
Metal Man (GM): Nothing happens. The door is apparently locked.
Flaeyn looks at what kind of lock it is.
Deloth tries Explode on the door just for kicks.
Metal Man (GM): It makes a loud knocking sound.
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't be surprised if someone beat us... and they've--well, we'll see now."
Metal Man (GM): There is a knocking sound on the other side.
Julian: *Knocks back.*
Metal Man (GM): It knocks back again. The Questers hear some machinery beeping.
Metal Man (GM): It knocks back the last bit to it. Weird.
Flaeyn tries using Morse code. "Open up the door, please?"
Keikyoku knocks the first part of 'the wheels on the bus go round and round.'
Metal Man (GM): The Questers hear slow unlocking noises.
Digifanatic: "Hang on, hang on..."
Julian: *Steps away and to the side of the door.*
Flaeyn would just back up, waiting for an ambush...
Digifanatic: *follows Flaeyn's lead. And Julian's.*
Julian: *Has been Questing a long time. Why do you think he carries so many rocks?*
Deloth steps aside as well and gets his swords ready to kill.
Flaeyn also uses pebbles--only those he finds on the floor though.
Keikyoku steps to the side.
Metal Man (GM): The door slowly opens. The door fully opens, revealing an army of dead robots and skeletons. They busted down the other door. They reactivated the base. And now... they want to kill... THE QUESTERS!
Dragoshi: *Readies his scythe.* :/
Deloth: *Swords up.* "Let's kill. Er... rekill. ...Live and then kill. WHATEVER."
Flaeyn: "Lets make this quick..!" He would bring up his fist in the air, summoning a holy rift to cut through and drop down marble crosses onto the army, trying to eliminate a chuck with a wide-are attack.
Julian: "Aw hell naw." *Bat!*
Metal Man (GM): There's at least 40 individuals. There are individual Eggrobos, dead GUN soldiers, and some amalgamations.
Keikyoku chuckles silently.
Aribar: "... HOW are we supposed to fight these things?!"
Keikyoku and waits to flank them.
Dragoshi: *Charges at the crowd and attempts to kill, or at least maim three with one scythe slash.*
Metal Man (GM): They're animated by the unholy power of the anti-vandalism spell Keikyoku and Flaeyn activated. Dragoshi and Flaeyn easily hits them. But they represent a massive amount of health.
Keikyoku uppercuts one undead thing from the side trying to make the whole row fly into a crumpled heap.
Metal Man (GM): Hit. He flies back and hits another undead, but they share damage. It acts almost as if a golem... an army golem... where a central energy controls many bodies.
Keikyoku swing at the closest one making it fly away from him.
Metal Man (GM): The army moves to attack the Questers in quick order. A GUN man shoots at Dragoshi. An Eggrobo hurls a bone at Aribar.
Metal Man (GM): An abomination leaps at Digi and explodes.
Digifanatic: *jumps over that big ol mass.*
Metal Man (GM): Two more GUN men shoot at Keikyoku. Keikyoku hits. Keikyoku is hit once. Digi dodges his too...
Aribar dodges something he didn't know he was supposed to dodge until now.*
Metal Man (GM): *BONK*
Flaeyn: "Lets make this quick..!" He would bring up his fist in the air, summoning a holy rift to cut through and drop down marble crosses onto the army, trying to eliminate a chuck with a wide-area attack.
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Deloth: *Iiiit's THREE Light Pillars. Hopefully he can fill these dark souls... with LIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHT!*
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit. Miss.
Digifanatic launches into the fray and tries to jab into the mess of undead with a Golf Club Ram--see if this works.
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Aribar once more summons up some icy magical energy! A snowflake-shaped bomb arcs into the crowd of zombies and bursts upon impact. Icy shrapnel shreads through the zombies.* (PK FREE... Er, Freeze.)
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Metal Man (GM): Miss, hit, hit. Here's what happens. First, Julian misses with a swing. Then he and a skeleton headbonk one another. Then he swings and bashes the skeleton in two.
Julian: *Julian beats the bejesus out of a couple zombies with a bat and also himself, got it.*
Metal Man (GM): And... PAUSE.
