Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 19: Immortal Insanity
Date: November 23rd, 2008
Metal Man (GM): The Questers had fought a long and hard battle, eventually killing Trevor, aka Trevelyan. They then decided to restore the Golden Statues. But all that did was give them a strange oracle, and it in turn offered them many more quests.
Metal Man (GM): Rather than find out the missing 'peacemaker' that had made Mobius peaceful, the Questers struck out for a mountainous land far, far to the West. Here, the oracle had hinted, their leader had gone.
Metal Man (GM): With the specter of Jack making all kinds of money off a newly raised Egg Carrier, they still went, and are now nearing... a large continent, covered in mountains. There's a flat area too... it's mossy and filled with ruined buildings. How strange.
Metal Man (GM): The boat's nearing the land, with Digi at the helm. The Questers are a ways away from even the Mushroom Kingdom.
Julian: *Julian's been taking a nap, using his equipment bag as a pillow, as they sailed to... wherever.*
Deloth: *mumbling while asleep.* "Mngh... love you too..."
Metal Man (GM): Prior to this, the ship had gone back to the Mobius coast. It is assumed Aribar and whomever wanted to fool in the decidedly non-magical library are at the Capital City Library now. Bla blah generic surrounds and stuff. The numbers on the walls match the hint Aribar got. There's book '128.'
Aribar finds the book, picks it up, and reads through it.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar picks it up, and a slip of paper falls out. Someone was looking for pure elemental, too... and carelessly left this in here.
Aribar raises an eyebrow as he looks at the slip of paper.
Metal Man (GM): It shows some weird coordinates. Apparently, it's somewhere in the large Mario continent area. It is so powerful that it is the reason so many of the names there are elemental. However, it has been lost, and the coordinates have shifted a lot. It is said the Echidnas also had it once, but lost it in that area. Aribar would reason that 'element' could be a very loose word, due to all the different names. And hence... it would be immensely powerful in the right hands. Of course. Whomever wrote this would be one to worry about. It says 'Searching ancient library at *name scratched out.* for remaining clues.' And they've written, right on the slip, in that ancient language!
Aribar: .oO(So the Echidnas had it, and they're looking for it. And at one time it was in the Mushroom Kingdom. Whenever I get the chance, I should go and talk to Peach or some historian for more clues.)
Metal Man (GM): Aribar makes out, in the poor dialect, 'The ancient ones will return to prominence once I find it.' '??? Other spells ???' So, clearly, there are other spells... and this has to do with the ancients. The book it was in itself isn't very useful.
Aribar: "Interesting." *The half-elf spends a moment mulling over his little discovery. He pockets the slip of paper and goes to the front desk to ask who the last people were to check out that book. Aand if no one ever checked out the book, he leaves to go back to the ship.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar figures out... that a man who has a fake identity checked it out.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar eventually goes to the ship, and... *Fast forward.* The Questers are now near the shore with Digi and co. Digi is... within about 40 feet of landing.
Digifanatic slows the boat down and looks for a place to park it--without hitting anything.
Deloth yawns and wakes up a bit. "Hey, guys, I might stay on the ship today and catch some sleep, if that's okay."
Metal Man (GM): There is a sandy shoal, which is basically a small curved piece of sandbar Digi could move the ship near and be protected from waves. And then easily walk out in the shallow water. It... looks rather deserted here. There's buildings, but they're old, and covered in plant growth.
Digifanatic: *parks the boat near the shoal.* *quietly walks over to where the others are and says, at normal volume.* "Hey, we made it. Just have to walk through a little bit of water cause there's no docks nearby, but this is about as good a place to park the boat as we can get."
Aribar gets up to head off of the boat. "Digi, that is simply unacceptable; you will have to beach the boat so we keep our feet dry."
Metal Man (GM): This area was almost like a city, once.
Digifanatic: "I am telling you, there are no docks... and I think the last thing we need is for this to run aground."
Metal Man (GM): Broken concrete sidewalks and a few stumps of streetlights, and a few rocks are all that remains, plus one or two walls from fallen over buildings.
Aribar: "Huh. I guess we don't need to come here; the place is already destroyed." *The half-elf's sarcasm continues to flow as he goes towards the shore.*
Digifanatic: *waits for some of the others to wake up before leaving. He knows Deloth wants his rest, but he's curious about the others.*
Metal Man (GM): In the distance, one building is half-intact. It seems to have had quite a bit of damage done to it, but its walls stand up, and a slowly rotting roof has obviously been put back together... over and over again. It's deadly silent here.
Digifanatic: *quietly.* "Hello?" *and he's still on that boat.*
Aribar slowly steps into the city. He keeps his eyes on the windows and doorways and his hand on the hilt of his sword. The mage steadily makes his way towards the half-intact building and guesses that someone may be in it.
Digifanatic: *sighs and just walks off, following Aribar.* "They're all tired. "
Julian: *Julian's nap ends as something goes "WUARGH." He grabs his bag, and follows the footprints of the others to catch up.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers follow up, finding themselves at the foot of a small hill, atop which the ruined building sits. There's a debris trail leading inside it. A handful of broken skulls and some sand mark all that's left of what civilization was here.
Aribar sighs. "I don't think I'm going to like what we find here."
Metal Man (GM): A piece of metal is to the side. Carved into it is 'What purpose hath life, when all is ashes?'
Digifanatic turns around and waves to Julian before cautiously walking up the trail.
Deloth groggily wakes up and notices that something doesn't exactly feel right. Something about the arm across his face... And the white hair... wait a minute...* *quickly dropping screech, from high girl's voice to his regular one...* "...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers hear Deloth screaming from where they are. They would wonder if perhaps whatever is inside that building is less frightening than Deloth.
Julian: *Into the building.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian enters the building. It was an old military base.
Digifanatic: "...That was odd."
Aribar glances back towards the boat.* "Was that Deloth?"
Metal Man (GM): Skeletons have been impaled into the walls in places. In other places, the floor looks like it was burnt by a caustic liquid.
Julian: "He'll be fine."
Digifanatic: "That high at the beginning?"
Metal Man (GM): There's a primitive hearth and some vials full of red liquid.
Julian: "These folks... dunno about them."
Digifanatic: "If it was him, he's been taking opera lessons. "
Metal Man (GM): Additionally, there is a picture of a man on the wall, with the upper half of a blade thrust through it. Hm. It looks familiar, but nobody can see it with that broken blue blade stuck into it.
Digifanatic: "And I do not think he has been."
Aribar follows the others inside and hopes that Marley's boat won't be stolen.
Metal Man (GM): There's also some kind of tally carved into another wall... here it is a quite massive tally.
Digifanatic has the keys...
Metal Man (GM): A number in plain old English is below... it numbers in the millions.
Digifanatic: *looks at the number.*
Julian: *Checks if he can remove the blade without cutting himself.*
Metal Man (GM): 5,652,011.
Metal Man (GM): Julian finds he can remove it that way, indeed. It has been here for quite a while.
Julian: *Dislodgin' that shit.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian knocks it down. It falls down. ?!?!?!?!?! It's an image of Metal Man. Without cybernetics.
Digifanatic: "Wait, what the?!"
Metal Man (GM): Behind him is some lab.
Aribar stares at the picture.* "Yes, Ian, I believe those are appropriate words to say in this situation."
Julian: *Tries taking down the rest of the painting.*
Digifanatic: "You can call me Digi. None of the new guys are here right now..."
Metal Man (GM): There's not really anything else on the wall, except the tally, the number, and the skeletons. There is a polite voice heard from the doorway...
???: "Oh, hello."
Aribar turns about to face the voice.
Metal Man (GM): A man... or what appears to be one... wearing a slightly ruffled, all-black suit. His skin looks roughened and darkened. He wears blood red sunglasses, and has jet black hair. Yet... not all is right... spikes seem to protrude from under the suit, through the suit.
Julian: *Looks.* "...You okay?"
Metal Man (GM): The suit itself shines unnaturally. He has a large scar on one of his cheekbones. And his eyes are pure green in the center, with green-tinted whites... his teeth, bone-white, and dull. He speaks with a smooth... unnatural voice.
Digifanatic: *muttering to Ari.* "And right around now you may use Ian again."
Metal Man (GM): He picks up the dislodged picture of Metal Man as he walks over. He slowly puts it back on the wall.
Aribar: "Greetings, sir." *The half-elf says this uneasily.*
???: "You wouldn't happen to know... where heeee is... would youuuu???? I have been waaaaaiting... for over a hundreeed years."
Julian: "We're tryin' to find out... what you want with 'em?"
???: "I killed... an eeeentire civilization... while waaaaiting... and he is still noooot back..."
Digifanatic: .oO(A hundred years?)
???: "I am... verry angreeeee..."
Metal Man (GM): He slowly takes out a pistol and shoots the wall, adding to his tally.
Aribar: "May I ask who you are?"
Vylch: "I am Vylch... and just what are youuuu???? All humans... deeeaaaad... you must have come a very... long... waaaaaay. Yeeeeees." He takes out... the lower half of the broken sword. "I am afraid... my thirst... cannot be filled... without him."
Aribar debates giving the being his real name or not. "Aribar Hunter."
Metal Man (GM): He takes a vial, slowly drinking it. He appears noticeably more alive.
Aribar would back up a step and tighten his grip on his sword. "There is no reason to become hostile..."
Vylch: "I must... taste his bloooooooooood..."
Julian: "Y'know, that's great, but we ain't him. Put the sword away."
Metal Man (GM): He turns to the Questers, holding a gun in one hand, and a sword in the other.
Digifanatic: .oO(What a LOONY!)
Vylch: "That is okayyyy... to me... the first live bloood... in years... will be enough. Come at me, for I have neither tasted... combaaaat... heee heee hee heee... haaah haaa haaa haaa haaaaa!!!"
Dragoshi: *And... Dragoshi has just been silently following behind the group. Very silently. :x*
Metal Man (GM): He begins firing wildly.
Aribar unsheathes his sword. "You will find us tougher to kill than your past opponents." He quickly tries something: The mage tries to summon up his protective magic to cast a Ward spell around their group.
Metal Man (GM): The bullets, despite being wild, seem to whiz about everyone's heads, precisely aimed. Whoever this is... isn't quite human. Aribar casts the spell without a problem. Too bad... this guy isn't a magic user. He is mildly annoyed, but seems unbothered.
Vylch: "You goooo firsssst... I wish to feeel paaaaaain..."
Julian: "Man, I ain't got a good feelin' about this..."
Metal Man (GM): He stands there, as if he expects the Questers to hit him. He doesn't even say much, unlike the common foe. He seems astutely wired into the art of combat.
Digifanatic just decides to try and show Vylch a little bit of brute force... with a golf club to the stomach.
Metal Man (GM): He walks into it. Digi hits him and it makes a sort of wet noise. It makes a noticeable dent in him.
Digifanatic: *to the other Questers.* "Sounds like a decoy to me."
Julian: *Looks.* "...You okay?"
Flaeyn: "Hm..." He tries to punch through him with God Hand.
Metal Man (GM): He is hit... but, noticeably, he sidesteps so Flaeyn only scrapes him, rather than kill him. He's hiding something. He lets himself crash into the wall. He walks out from the hole his crash makes. He takes more damage.
Dragoshi: *Runs over to the guy and tries to steal his half of a sword offa him.*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi grabs the sword. It's useless! It's bladed on all sides! It sinks into Dragoshi's hand! He looks to the hole in his hand where he had been holding it.
Vylch: "Well, if yoooou waaaaant it..." He doesn't seem bothered.
Dragoshi: *Blinks, wondering how that even works.* "..." *Shrugs, then just hurls a kama at the guy.*
Metal Man (GM): He stands there, as the bullets go right through him. As he bleeds he seems unbothered. It's weird... green stuff, too.
Aribar points his sword at Vylch as it charges with electricity. Four bolts of lightning lance towards his psychopathic foe and shock him!
Metal Man (GM): He makes an unearthly scream as the electricity hits him. Something about it zapping the goo. How strange.
Julian: *Julian, unwary about attacking this guy head-on, just goes to knock the gun out of his hand with a roundhouse kick. Disarm!*
Metal Man (GM): Vylch knocks Julian's foot aside instead.
Julian: *Whifff... Julian just tries to slap it out of his hand next.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian knocks it to the side. It lands on the floor.
Julian: *Get that shit outta my face!*
Metal Man (GM): He seems unbothered. Yes, there are spikes all over the handle. And the trigger is on it backwards, with a blade that would seemingly slice one's finger off if they pulled it.
Julian: *Julian kicks it across the room after the disarming and sets himself up in between it and Mr. Mystery.*
Metal Man (GM): This man's freaaaky. Vylch. He stands up, looking really messed up.
Vylch: "Yeeeees... at laaast... true paaaaain... now youuuuuur turrrnnnn!!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Disarmed, he has only his fists. He lunges at Julian, as if to tackle him, with inhuman speed.
Flaeyn: "Hm. I always wanted to ask--do you like nature? Despite it spawning... you?"
Metal Man (GM): We can fairly assume that hit. He tackles Julian and punches him over and over again, in the face, with his claws. Ow.
Metal Man (GM): He cartwheels backwards, picking up the gun. He aims at Dragoshi and fires it over and over and over and over again.
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi leaps out of the way as his gunshots blast a hole in the wall where Dragoshi was standing.
Metal Man (GM): He isn't done yet, however, as he runs after Dragoshi, laughing madly, going to try and pummel him with the spiked gun!!! *SMASH* *SMASH* Ow... wait. He only hit Dragoshi twice.
Dragoshi: *Ow.* *Ow!*
Metal Man (GM):.. ...he knocks the blade away and gets it!
Vylch: "Oh... and... yoooouuuu..."
Metal Man (GM): He chucks the blade directly at Flaeyn's gut.
Metal Man (GM): The blade whistles as it smashes into a wall, and returns to his hand. He stands again... his suit making a weird clicking noise as it suddenly turns on.
Vylch: "Heeee heeee... haaaaaa..."
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn is unharmed.
Flaeyn dodges by just moving his body oh so slightly. "Try again."
Digifanatic just chains together an Icy Kick/Fire Punch one-two.
Metal Man (GM): He ducks under it. Digi barely misses. The suit is making him move much faster... And no one has a clue what exactly powers it.
Flaeyn would then charge up light into his palm, he'd rush forward smashing it into the enemy, then follow up with a Godhand.
Metal Man (GM): He is hit twice. Oddly, he seems to like the fact the Questers are competent fighters. Even though he's getting holes in himself at a quick rate...
Flaeyn: "'Tch. Don't tell me you're immortal." He would then turn to the others. "I'm guessing his ability is that the more damage is dealt to him, the stronger he becomes..."
Vylch: "I lived a hundred yeeeaaaars..." He coughs. "Thaaaat was after the 400 other yeeaaaars..." He smirks.
Metal Man (GM): Yeah. He's... not normal. He takes more damage. The Questers keep harming him. It's looking nasty for him, but his suit seems to be humming.
Flaeyn: "...I think I'm right. Anyone disagree?"
Metal Man (GM): *CHCHUNK* That last set of damage activates something weird... his gun and sword begin glowing oddly.
Digifanatic: "You may be."
Metal Man (GM): He smirks... he has apparently been in a situation like this before. Many... many times.
Vylch: "Why... iiiit is almost like you shouuuld run..."
Vylch: "Metal Maaaaan diiiid far more than thaaat... he raaaan so faaaaar not eeeeveeen I could geeeeet hiiiiim... Buuuut now yoooou are heeereeee..." His voice is getting more slurred. The Questers did some real damage.
Flaeyn: "...Why are we in this situation again?"
Aribar: "It is because we did not run away when we had the chance."
Flaeyn: "...and who's fault is this again?"
Vylch: "You can run nooowwww..." He laughs. "I haaaaate stationary prey. Tooo eaaaasy..."
Metal Man (GM): He... is getting antsy.
Dragoshi: *Just aims his left hand at Vylch as if it were a gun, and fires out two bolts of lightning at the guy. A-yep.*
Vylch: "Aaaaaaaaaighhhh!!!! ...Brings back... memories..."
Metal Man (GM): He IS weak against that, for what it's worth.
Aribar: "All of ours; Flaeyn. We came here to find Metal Man and found an assassin instead."
Metal Man (GM): Vylch looks at Aribar funny.
Flaeyn: "Nice job, Dragoshi." He sighs, and shrugs towards Aribar. "Well, can't be helped I guess."
Vylch: "Gooood luuuck with that... not even I can fiiiind hiiiiiim!!!!"
Digifanatic: *to Aribar.* "Can we just finish this creep off--hopefully?"
Metal Man (GM): He's charging up for something quite powerful while the Questers are talking.
Dragoshi: "...eh. Knowing our luck we'll prolly' trip over the guy." :x
Metal Man (GM): Increasingly loud charging noises are heard.
Aribar decides to keep utilizing the only weakness that he knows about the enemy: lightning. Four more shots of electricity strike Vylch with unerring accuracy!
Flaeyn: "I'm voting for a tactical retreat. I doubt he's like a jokester and will fire a 'bang' gun on us..."
Metal Man (GM): He is smoking now. But... that charging noise... the Questers wouldn't want to be near that if that was a bomb. Or similar... Every second counts against the Questers. Vylch is now glowing...
Julian: *Julian's been preoccupied the last round with recovering from almost having his face ripped off. After much rolling around and clutching his bleeding face wounds, Julian manages to contain the bleeding while staggering to his feet, holding his left hand to his face. Weaving back and forth, Julian stumbles over from behind Vylch, right hand raised like he's ready to punch... then keeps walking, free hand at his side * "Man, fuck this. I'm out, you suckas finish him off."
Metal Man (GM): Vylch lets him go... no evil insults... nothing.
Vylch: "A wise man once told me... Kill all who oppose you and leave the rest for later!!!"
Flaeyn: "'Tch. What a fool..."
Metal Man (GM): He floats up from the floor, his suit now fully online. He then holds his gun and begins... spinning... very... fast... He then flicks out his sword... he's now nothing more than a blur.
Dragoshi: "..." .oO(Something ridiculous is going to happen, isn't it...)
Metal Man (GM): The Questers hear his voice, spinning in the doppler effect.
Vylch: "FINAL DESTROYER!!!"
Aribar: "Piffle." *The half mutters a quick prayer and hopes his weak Ward spell will hold against whatever Vylch does.*
Metal Man (GM): The next few moments are filled with bullets in all directions, followed by him flying from person to person, aiming to stab them or just cut them down as they stand. Julian escapes in time to see bullets flying everywhere. Aribar's Ward protects the Questers from a third part which could have easily killed them all after that; After images of him bounce off the ward. Magical after images.
Flaeyn: "...I really LOVE you guys."
Metal Man (GM): *Failure noise for the after-images.*
Digifanatic: *Yeah, he is screwed.*
Metal Man (GM): He basically moves too fast to be reckoned with... Dragoshi leaps like a madman, limiting the damage he takes.
Digifanatic: *Yeah he's done.*
Aribar.. has his flakjacket on, and that is the only thing that saves the half-elf from being instantly slain.
Metal Man (GM): The entire building collapses after this attack, and Vylch returns to his place. He's rather injured himself, and can't really do anything else, maybe not even for his next turn.
Vylch: "How do you like me... noooooow???"
Dragoshi: *Barely alive. Baaarely.*
Metal Man (GM): Vylch goes to stab Flaeyn. And Flaeyn chucks him away...
Flaeyn dodges, just with a single sidestep. "Fool. You don't even compare to me."
Vylch: "Worthy opponents... do not come often..."
Aribar: "Do we run now, or do we hope that he can't do that again and try and finish him off?"
Metal Man (GM): His full power is... a bit outside the Questers' ken right now.
Flaeyn: "I feel a little bit more confident myself... However we should really retreat..."
Aribar: "I'll follow your lead, Flaeyn."
Flaeyn nods, and then attempt to run.
Metal Man (GM): Vylch is... recovering.
Flaeyn throws a Sereharde Vylch's way before he makes a run for it, taking a KO'd person with him.
Metal Man (GM): Vylch is hit by it and knocked over. He smirks crazily from the ground... as he very, very slowly is moving to get back up to his one-knee recovery position.
Flaeyn: "Lets rock. Pick up people if you can (of course not Aribar) and make a run for it!"
Vylch: "First real battle in... hundred yeaaars... I will seee you agaaaain!!!"
Aribar just realizes that he's nigh-dead, terribly weak in upper body strength, and needs to carry Digi/Dragoshi out of there. Go team Aribar! He tries it!
Metal Man (GM): The Questers run the heck away. Flaeyn carries all the KO'd people but Digi off with him as he and Aribar flee. The Questers hear the screech of Vylch in the distance, and can only assume he's going to reach the boat soon... and Digi is KO'd...
Dragoshi: *Takes Digi, then. :/*
Metal Man (GM): Somebody better start the boat before he gets in bullet range!
Dragoshi: *Starts the boat...*
Deloth: *And he's still in the bottom of the boat, curled-up and whimpering.*
Julian: *Can't drive no boat!*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi starts the boat... barely. Vylch rounds the nearby hill. A bullet flies straight over the bow. How does he get such range? Either way, the Questers... take off... To the sound of gunfire in the distance. And some bullets whistling over the boat. *SMASH* One of them hits a window before the Questers get fully out of range. The group is now in the middle of the ocean...
Deloth: "...who's shooting at us?"
Metal Man (GM): Hm... I guess it's a good thing he can't walk in the water to chase the Questers.
Julian: "Some crazy robot... what was you yellin' about earlier?"
Deloth: "..." *whimper.*
Flaeyn kneels down to Deloth. "You okay?"
Dragoshi: "So... where to next?"
Aribar sighs and sits down on the bow of the boat. He wonders what they should do now.
Deloth slowly sits up, no longer quivering...
Metal Man (GM): Well, Jack and the Egg Carrier remain on Aribar's mind... and the Pure Element.
Deloth: "...How the hell did that happen..."
Flaeyn: "Well... I really don't mind whatever we do."
Dragoshi: *And... on Dragoshi's mind is the Eggrobo in the Final Egg area... Though, he decides to head over to Jack and the Egg Carrier to see how he's doing with that.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers head on over. They eventually reach the ship. Jack's been picking it clean and... rebuilding it in places... Jack's large cruise-style ship greets everyone. Jack looks over the side to see the Questers.
Flaeyn: "Oh, you're still alive." He says that, without realizing how it really sounds.
Jack: "Huh. What're you guys here for?"
Flaeyn: "I see you're just living the good life, hm?"
Julian: "...Why ARE we here?"
Jack: "Yeah. I think I'll rebuild this ship to use as my own pleasure airship. You look like somebody ran you over."
Dragoshi: "Well, they did."
Jack: "But I thought you killed all your enemies?"
Flaeyn: "Not so much." He said, referring to himself and his very minor injuries.
Flaeyn then points to the others. "It appears they have old friends they forgot is all."
Aribar: "We managed to find someone who managed to single-handedly defeat all of us. In fact, when we get the chance we should head to shore and get some supplies to patch everyone up."
Jack: "Hm... well... where did you go?" He shakes his head. "Some places are dangerous to go in this world. Hm... far West, it appears, then. Dead man's continent."
Dragoshi: "Well, that explains a lot."
Jack: "Why did you not ask me first? Nobody can go there. Some freak keeps killing everyone."
Julian: "Don't even know who the fuck you ARE."
Flaeyn: "Neither do I."
Jack: "Well... they do." He points to Aribar and Dragoshi. "I'm Jack the Widowmaker... and didn't I kill the guy holding you hostage?" He points at Flaeyn.
Aribar: "This is Jack; someone who we've been seeing on and off for a while. He's quite good at killing people."
Flaeyn is. "I don't know what you're talking about."
Aribar: "Also, that freak that keeps killing people is who stopped us. His name is Vylch."
Jack: "Anyway. That's one of the guys I can't kill."
Julian: "Can he help us kill that robot? Why not?"
Jack: "This spear kills alive people."
Dragoshi: "And he's technically not alive, so..."
Jack: "That thing... it isn't alive... it's just evil... and I suspect a product of high technology. You'd need to kill it with an extremely powerful electrical weapon."
Julian: "An' of course you wouldn't know where'ta get onna those."
Jack: "And perhaps shoot it over and over again, because I once did that, and he came back anyway."
Dragoshi: "...We only have electric magic." :x
Deloth: "...Uh, guys?"
Metal Man (GM): He points to the Egg Carrier.
Jack: "We can just modify this nifty gigantic laser to shoot lightning. Then we can take him out from the air."
Deloth silently holds up an arm. It's covered with scales now, not fur.
Julian: "That works."
Jack: "...We need to ambush, though. That guy can leap very high."
Aribar glances back to Deloth.* "Are your mutations mutating now?"
Jack: "And... we'll need to probably take the piece of land he dies on... And chuck it to the bottom of the ocean. He doesn't appear to know how to die."
Deloth: "Quiet, Ari." *shuts his eyes and focuses... said scales separate and coalesce back into fur again. Normal appearance.*
Flaeyn: "Gee, how about the volcano while we're at it?" Referring to the chucking into the ocean part.
Deloth: "...This. Is. Insane."
Jack: "Once, I asked him about it. He said 'Not until I kill the person who did this to me.' He pointed at his cheekbone. That's great. It'd almost be easier to kill that person. But I bet he's dead already, and this robot won't realize it. Or he is alive, and he's the most elusive person ever. Whatever. If you help me here, I can make a weapon powerful enough to kill him."
Julian: "What's the help?"
Metal Man (GM): This, however, makes one wonder if Jack will profit from this yet again.
Jack: "...Well, we need parts. Expensive parts. We also need a genius. In fact, skip the parts. The Genius can make them."
Flaeyn doesn't care, obviously because he isn't fond of materialistic things.
Jack: "There's one to the North. But the people there are... touched in the head. They... throw spherical metal objects at things."
Flaeyn looks to the group. "Anyone of you guys a genius?"
Jack: "Once, some thugs tried to rob me. They summoned small monsters."
Jack: "They were less tough when I stabbed them. They said something like, 'No! A human who can use CUT! Ahhhhh!!!'"
Flaeyn: "Sounds like an easy job actually."
Aribar: "Is there a specific person up there that we should look for?"
Julian: "...Sounds kinda familiar. North, you said?"
Jack: "Yeah... but... they had a mafia boss guy. I had to flee after he threatened my life and demonstrated it with something almost as evil as that robot thing you fought. So, yeah. Don't tick off the dumb people. Uh... North. Yeah, look for a weird man in a labcoat. He's near the Southern tip, so you're in luck. He told me to capture all the wild animals in the world. I told him he was f#('ing insane. He shrugged, telling me that in his land, only people who did that had good jobs."
Flaeyn: "Alright... It's not like we need to know this?"
Jack: "All the more reason I decided, rather than fight that mafia boss guy, I'd go find a better place to steal gold nugge---err, save the world in!"
Deloth silently continues trying out this new power of his. Very, very interesting... if rather traumatizing the first time...
Jack: "Well, I just want to tell you, so you don't come back looking like you are now."
Dragoshi: "...what's this about gold?"
Jack: "Oh. There's... gold... uhhh... yeah. I found a lot of the thieves had gold on them. For no reason at all. They said they had to sell it before they could use it, even."
Dragoshi: "...remind me to steal that offa them." >_>
Jack: "There were a lot of gold-packing guys on a bridge far north."
Julian: "I'll keep that in mind..."
Jack: "That was how I got the angry mafia man after me. They are possessive of their gold. And their feral animals. And all their wild animals are strong enough to kill a man. Even the mice."
Deloth: "..." *reaches over and taps Dragoshi on the shoulder.*
Jack: "It was frightening, when even the pigeons tried to kill me."
Dragoshi: *Looks at Del.* "...yes?"
Flaeyn: "Okay, we get it, we get it. Lets just get a move on."
Jack: "As much as they were no match for my spear, they didn't die. They just got knocked out. Sorta like you guys. ...Yeah... I need to do some more work."
Metal Man (GM): He leans back onto his ship.
Deloth: *It's... Dragoshi! Oh, wait, no, the tattoo's still on the shoulder.*
Dragoshi: "..." *chuckles.*
Deloth: "Pretty good?"
Deloth grins and shifts back to his normal appearance. "I could have fun with this..."
Flaeyn: "Pretty good for espionage."
Deloth: *Flaeyn's voice.* "I'll say."
Flaeyn: "Hm. Still needs a bit of work. You've got something on your face after all."
Deloth: "It'd be even better without this." *taps the marking/tattoo.*
Metal Man (GM): And I now just realized I managed to take the premise of Wind Waker... and make it not boring. *Head explodes.*
Deloth: "It just... pushes itself to the top every time."
Flaeyn: "Well, I'd be even better without the bruise." He goes to smash his fist in, and sighs.
Dragoshi: "...can't we at least go and get patched up first?"
Metal Man (GM): *Hides 256 pieces of the Triforce in the ocean.*
Aribar: "I think it would be a good idea to try and heal up before going up there. Perhaps we could even buy some supplies from GUN or someone."
Dragoshi: "That sounds like a good idea."
Julian: "Whatever. Let's get everyone conscious."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi is at the helm, so he can go pull in to Capital City. Well, really, to the coast and walk to GUN HQ. Whatever.
Dragoshi: *Does that.*
Deloth continues fiddling with his shapeshifting. "This is nuts. Is someone just drawing slips out of a hat to decide what I get next?"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers reach, eventually, the GUN building, with the KO'd Digi.
Dragoshi: *Shrugs.* "Damned if I know."
Metal Man (GM): They go to the med-bay area.
Medic: "Well... it'll be 5 coins a person to heal fully. We're not fully up to spec, and we can't heal everyone for free."
Flaeyn: "Get over it... after all, we'll be counting on you in the future." He points to his tattoo, referring to the shapeshifting.
Deloth: "Hey, I never said it was BAD..."
Julian: *Chips in his 5.*
Dragoshi: *Chips in his 5 as well.*
Aribar: *Gives 10; 5 for himself, 5 for Digi.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian, Dragoshi, Digi, and Aribar are fully healed.
Dragoshi: "Thank you."
Medic: "Now, if you need more supplies..." Basic Medkit: 15 coins, heals 1/3 max HP in damage. Good Medkit: 30 coins, heals 3/4 of max HP at once.
Digifanatic: *wakes up.* "Well, that was a nice nap--I mean, dang it. I presume you guys fled?"
Flaeyn: "No, I obliterated him single handedly."
Deloth shifts into Digi's appearance and leans over him. "This is your guardian angel speaking."
Dragoshi: "...Yea, we fled."
Digifanatic: "Ah--" *turns to Deloth.* "Okay, who's wise idea was this? Deloth?"
Aribar decides not to buy any medkits; he needs to save his money for spell research.
Deloth: "What wise idea?"
Flaeyn: "To flee? Mine, I guess."
Digifanatic: "No, no."
Julian: *Buys two of those Basic Medkits.*
Digifanatic: "Well, someone is trying to be me. Like if I got cloned or something while I was out cold."
Dragoshi: *Decides to buy two Basic Medkits as well.*
Julian: "That's Del. He does that now."
Deloth: *shifts his head and face back.* "Hiya."
Digifanatic: "Oh... actually, you're good at that. Yeah, you're--yeah, really good at that." *if not obvious, his tone changed from shock to curious interest.*
Deloth: "I try."
Digifanatic: "Have you tried your old self yet?"
Deloth: "Not really. That might involve a bit more work."
Flaeyn digs through his uniform. "...No money."
Deloth slaps down 30 coins and grabs two basic medkits, handing one to Flaeyn.
Digifanatic decides to buy 2 of the basic ones as well... "Was I just knocked out for a while, or was the process sped up?"
Deloth shrugs. "I wasn't there at the time..."
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn finds... 20 coins.
Deloth: "..." *shudder.*
Flaeyn takes one, and does a gun gesture with his other hand. "Thanks." He'd find the 20 coins, and just pretend he never saw them >.>
Dragoshi: "...So, what now?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, what are we doing now?"
Flaeyn: "'Go north, young man!', or something."
Aribar: "I suppose we head north and find this brilliant man."
Digifanatic: "Brilliant man... anything else?"
Dragoshi: "...I was thinking about tying up loose ends and getting the Eggrobo... But, going North sounds fine as well."
Flaeyn: "I would guess the Eggrobo would take less time than going North and such... lets get to the Eggrobo."
Digifanatic: "Any information on what else is North... unlike that weird continent we just hit? It would help if I could cast my vote by knowing as much as possible."
Flaeyn: "Look, basically North is a place with odd mannerisms, and a quite different culture than us that involves capturing creatures, and using them to battle against other trainers. I would guess going to deal with the Eggbot would take much less work, and would take up quicker."
Digifanatic: "...Oh, Pokemon. I was wondering when they'd show up."
Aribar: "It may be a good idea to check up on that Eggrobo."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... imagine beings like us, except just about every single species is confined to a particular element, and most of them can only say their name or parts thereof."
Digifanatic: "And very few of them even come close to resembling a human form."
Deloth: "That's... kind of a weird metaphor, Digi. I don't see myself as being a small yellow mouse."
Digifanatic: .oO(Uh oh.) "...Hey, how else can I describe a wide range of them?"
Deloth: *dryly.* "Try."
Digifanatic: "Well, I was only giving a rather basic definition."
Digifanatic: "Let's just take care of the Eggrobo."
Metal Man (GM): The group continues to waffle about where to go next.
Deloth: "...why is it that every time we try to make a decision, it's like seven people arguing over six pieces of pizza?"
Dragoshi: "Damned if I know."
Metal Man (GM): The Eggrobo is in the Final Egg area. It has probably been waiting... waiting... waiting...
Aribar: "That's at least three votes for the Eggrobo."
Metal Man (GM): Who knows what it has been doing with that absurdly powerful power cell.
Dragoshi: "Well, if no one objects..."
Deloth: "Then let's go?"
Julian: "So quit stallin' and get on with it!"
Digifanatic: "I'm okay with it."
Dragoshi: *Heads back to the boat, and motions for the others to follow.*
Julian: *Thought we were already on the boat.* *Is now, in any case.*
Aribar: *Following action, commence!*
Flaeyn: *was already on the boat, since he didn't heal or anything.*
Deloth: *On the boat. Why, it is a NICE BOAT!*
Digifanatic: *I guess he's back on the boat. If nothing else, he starts driving it to Final Egg?*
Metal Man (GM): Well, the Final Egg area is inland.
Digifanatic: "Wow, we're..."
Dragoshi: *Just walks there, then. Sheesh.* >_>
Digifanatic: *gets back off and starts walking to FE then.*
Julian: *Walk, whatever.*
Deloth: "...Well, that was pointless." *hops off and starts walking.*
Deloth silently starts shifting again, behind the others... He then reaches over and taps Ari on the shoulder this time.
Metal Man (GM): After a lot of walking, the Questers enter the Egg base, in Final Egg... O_o. It has been almost completely rebuilt. The Eggrobo walks out as if the Questers had left yesterday.
Deloth: *blink... blink...* "Er... never mind, Ari. You, ah... really did well fixing this place up."
Eggrobo: "Rebuild is nearing completion. Base detects Egg Carrier... you were gone for quite a while."
Dragoshi: "Yeeeaaa... Sorry 'bout that. Had to deal with a couple of jerks."
Julian: "Yeah, we were... How's it goin'?"
Eggrobo: "I have found instructions from the Old Eggman. Since you are the new Eggman, I shall let you interpret them."
Metal Man (GM): He tosses a note to Julian.
Metal Man (GM): 'If you see this, could you please establish a link to the Super Death Egg?'
Dragoshi: *NOTE READING START.*
Julian: "...Super Death Egg?"
Eggrobo: "The Super Death Egg was heavily damaged in the last war. However it seems we can contact it. And maybe reach it."
Aribar: "That sounds like something I would not want built."
Dragoshi: *Insert generic NOTE READING STOP line here.* "...I see."
Eggrobo: "Thanks to your energy cell we can probably use a teleporter..."
Dragoshi: "...Does it have any lightning-based weaponry?" >_>
Eggrobo: "It would be interesting. It seemed to be destroyed... no."
Dragoshi: "Ah well."
Deloth: "Then we don't need it."
Julian: "No dice."
Dragoshi: "Don't be so hasty..."
Eggrobo: "It may have... the supplies to make such weaponry."
Deloth: "Uh, Drag, our worldwide approval rating is pretty much next to zilch, anyways. I doubt we need a killsat to make it plummet even further."
Eggrobo: "It was Eggman's away base... in case of... what happened ultimately."
Julian: "Now you've got me interested... where's it at?"
Eggrobo: "This way." He walks a bit, and turns on a teleporter... 'EGGMAN'S AWESOME TELEPORTER' to be exact.
Metal Man (GM): It has some locations. Scrap Brain, Super Death Egg, and this base, to be exact.
Deloth: "...Egotistical little *mumble mumble.*..."
Aribar follows the Eggrobo over to the teleporter.
Dragoshi: *Heads on along to the teleporter.*
Eggrobo: "We have limited energy. Should we link to the Super Death Egg? Or will you be leaving us?"
Aribar: "Will we be able to teleport back?"
Digifanatic: *walks over.*
Deloth: "Are you SURE about this?"
Eggrobo: "I should be asking that."
Aribar shrugs.* "It is up to you people to decide whether or not you want to resurrect Eggman's machine."
Dragoshi: "Pretty much..."
Deloth: "Good, Drag. I can rub it in your face if it screws us up, then. Which it will."
Metal Man (GM): On the one hand, if it works, you could use it to fight Vylch. Somehow. On the other hand, it could be as bad as it sounds. 'Resurrect Eggman's machine.'
Digifanatic: "Well, if we can get rid of one more loony, fine. But it'd be best to decommission it as soon afterwards as possible."
Deloth: "...Besides, there's still something I've been curious about for a while."
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't want this thing up longer than we'd have to have it up."
Deloth: "Or we could just NOT HAVE IT UP AT ALL."
Digifanatic: "Also a possibility..."
Deloth: "Geez, people, have you not learned that Eggman = bad, bad, BAD?"
Digifanatic: "Well, I just thought that if we could use it for as short as an amount of time as possible we wouldn't go insane."
Deloth: "...That's good, Digi. Now, let's take that concept one step further..."
Digifanatic: "Okay, true."
Dragoshi: *Impatiently tapping his foot, waiting for everyone to come to a friggin' conclusion already.*
Aribar waits as well.
Metal Man (GM): Today, in Super Senator Quest! :p
Digifanatic: "Fine. I say no."
Deloth: "I say no. Two for two."
Dragoshi: "Welp, this is pointless."
Aribar: "Deloth and Digi are against, Dragoshi and Julian are for it, correct? Just argue it out some more; Vylch and Metal will wait."
Deloth just heads out of the base and back to the boat.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth is on his way to the boat...
Deloth: "Now how do you start this thing up..."
Digifanatic: "Okay, okay... Dragoshi and Julian: do you think we'll be able to find something else that may assist us against Vylch that doesn't involve Eggmen?"
Dragoshi: *Looks at the Eggrobo.* "...You should really patch yourself up."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth can't find the starter!
Deloth: "...Okay. It COULDN'T have just vanished..."
Dragoshi: *Then looks at Digi.* "There's still the continent to the North..."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth picks up a pizza box. A dominoes pizza box. He slowly smashes it into his face. No key inside.
Deloth: *muffled.* "...I am SUCH a dumbass."
Digifanatic: "Okay. So we don't necessarily have to use this thing just yet. Julian? Would you agree with Dragoshi?"
Deloth drops the box and tries this again, kaythanksbai.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds a bucket filled with ancient puke. Yeah. Unlike the box, he hasn't accidentally touched it, or smashed it into his face.
Deloth: *Yeah, that's going overboard.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds the bullet Vylch shot out the window with. Wow. Even the bullets have spikes on them.
Deloth: "..." *silently gets out of the boat and walks back into the base.*
Dragoshi: *Looks at the Eggrobo again.* "...Say, have you gotten around to repairing that repair chamber yet?"
Digifanatic: *waits to see if Julian has a good alternate idea.*
Deloth: *evenly.* "Fate herself is telling me that the boat is not an option."
Eggrobo: "It is mostly functional. Why?"
Dragoshi: "...I suggest that you should use it. You look a little... battered."
Eggrobo: "As you command." He walks off and begins using it... it slowly begins repairing him.
Metal Man (GM): ETA: 2 hours... wait... he was the only one who knew how to turn on the teleporter! Oh well.
Deloth: "..." *heads back to the boat and silently sits down.* "...I wonder if I can swim all the way north."
Digifanatic: "Well, considering Dragoshi has an alternate idea in mind, boat's probably the best place to go." *starts walking back.* "Bye, Eggrobo."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds one of Borne's teeth. Huh.
Metal Man (GM): That explosion must have flung them quite far.
Dragoshi: *Leaves, waves to Eggrobo, and heads back to the boat.* >_>
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi slowly finds his way to the boat.
Deloth silently begins giving the side of the boat a series of swift kicks.
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi sees Deloth, kicking the boat, while a tooth he's set down nearby menaces him. Hm. Borne didn't take good care of his teeth. Dragoshi remembers that tooth from his obnoxious smile.
Dragoshi: "...Will you stop doing that?"
Digifanatic: "Okay, folks. We're just heading back North. I convinced them we could find something else less psychotic somewhere."
Deloth: *WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM WHAM.*
Dragoshi: "That, and I told the Eggrobo to repair itself in the chamber."
Deloth: "I'm sorry, Drag, I can't hear you over my never ending failure."
Dragoshi: *Enters the boat.*
Digifanatic: "Deloth, just calm down."
Deloth: "I can't HEEEEEEEAR you!"
Digifanatic: *heads in the boat and takes the pilot's seat again.* .oO(Been through enough today.) *let's hitch this baby up North.*
Deloth continues kicking the side. Dammit, he wants to punch a hole in it.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers start going North... and... Deloth kicks a hole in the side, until it breaks. Water starts coming in. Many days worth of debris start floating around and out of the boat, through the hole, as the cabin slowly takes on water.
Dragoshi: *Checks to see if they have anymore repair kits...*
Digifanatic: "Deloth, what are..." *looks back.* "Oh my god..."
Deloth: "...now why the fuck did I do that?"
Aribar: "Deloth, I can't swim. Fix it."
Metal Man (GM): FINAL BOSS: DELOTH'S HOLE IN THE BOAT.
Aribar casts his remaining two Electric Eles on the hole!
Metal Man (GM): The hole takes And the magic... welds the hole shut. That was quick.
Digifanatic looks around for duct tape and other pieces of stuff he may patch to--or not.
Metal Man (GM): Apparently, ele can be used for good as well as destruction. However, Borne's tooth escaped out to sea in the confusion.
Deloth: "..." *contemplatively cocks his foot back for another kick.*
Metal Man (GM): The bilge pumps clean out the remaining garbage as the boat goes north.
Dragoshi: "...Don't. Even. Think about it."
Deloth: *Kicking position again...*
Dragoshi: "Or you will be getting tossed off the damn boat firsthand by my hand."
Metal Man (GM): The hole is still sizzling a bit.
Flaeyn: "...What the hell?"
Deloth: "...Y'know, I don't think I've ever held this much power in my career before."
Metal Man (GM): There's a continent to the north.
Digifanatic: "Here we go..."
Deloth: "..." *quietly sits back down.*
Metal Man (GM): The boat reaches land. There's... tall grass.
Digifanatic: *again, looks for a place to park the boat.*
Metal Man (GM): There's a small channel, and it goes further inland. It's very shallow, though.
Dragoshi: *Prepares to cut down the tall grass with his laser sword, if necessary.* :x
Deloth hands Dragoshi his swords. "I'm not really sure if I should be near sharp objects for a while."
Digifanatic parks the boat at the very front tip of the channel; he wants it close to try land but won't try going too far in.
Dragoshi: *Nods, and takes them, putting away the regular sword... and dual-wields laser swords.* >_>
Deloth: "I would like them back if we get into a brawl, though."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers park the boat, and they can see their way to a small town, with a large lab. The lab says 'POKEMON LAB.'
Digifanatic: *gets off the boat and hopefully sets foot in short grass.*
Deloth: "...And I'd like them back now, please."
Dragoshi: "...'k" *Hands 'em back.* >_>
Flaeyn gets off the book, and looks at the lab. "..."
Dragoshi: *Exits the boat.*
