Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 3: Rolling in the Jungle

Date: July 30th and August 1st, 2008.
Metal Man (GM): Digifanatic and Tails went off to ship the boat parts to the beach, leaving everyone else sitting at Final Egg, where Franz is trying to repair his busted helicopter. And doing moderately well at it.
Deloth starts poking around the ruins.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth sees the ruins go in 3 ways from here. Left and right seem to go into the forest. Dead ahead, there's an old Eggman terminal leading off the cliff... it's partially shut.
Dragoshi: *Walks over to the terminal.*
Deloth: "Hmm... eeny, meenie, miney, mo..."
Deloth heads... left.
Lance who did not notice anyone else leaving looks at the helicopter for any broken spots that Franz may have missed.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth heads out into the forest, not exactly sure of where he is going. The path suddenly splits left and right.
Deloth: *Left again!*
Metal Man (GM): He goes left. The path takes a bend and... he's back at the helicopter, where Lance is.
Lance: "Hi Deloth."
Deloth: "Hmmm..."
Metal Man (GM): Darkdata find a few stress cracks. The man is using some sort of spray on the helicopter.
Lance: "Franz, you missed a few spots. *Points them out.*"
Deloth turns around and heads back to the fork. Right this time!
Metal Man (GM): The terminal (as in airport-like terminal) has a rusted door holding it shut. Deloth go right, encountering another left-right fork.
Deloth: *...sweatdrop.* "Uh... let's try left." *heads that way.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth comes to a four-way split. Left, diagonal left, diagonal right, right.
Deloth: "Oh, come ON!" *Diagonal friggin' right, grumble grumble...*
Metal Man (GM): He encounters another left/right path as he goes on. This forest is one big maze.
Deloth heads right, now that he has no way of finding his way out without razing the whole forest. Also, THANK YOU CAPTAIN OBVIOUS.
Franz: Ah! Zee choppehr eez more broke zan I thought." *He sprays the cracks."
Metal Man (GM): Going right, Deloth finds another left/right junction. The right path sort of follows the same direction he's going in.
Deloth goes left.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth walk into a dead end. Nothing is there.
Deloth: *turns around, heads right, screams "I HATE MAZES"*
Metal Man (GM): He continues, finding another left/right turn. The right turn is now the one further off the path he's going.
Deloth goes right. WHAT WILL HE FIND NEXT KIDS?
Metal Man (GM): Deloth goes further down this right path, finding... yet another left/right turn. It's all dark and forested down here.
Deloth: *Left.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth goes further down, finding yet another left/right turn, though it's one road it's entering, either way.
Deloth: *Right.*
Dragoshi: *Tries to pry the terminal door open first. Might as well start with the obvious.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth heads down the road, finding a left/right junction again; the left one goes off this road. Dragoshi pries the door open... but not enough. Dust falls off of it.
Deloth: *GNNNNNNNNNRRGH left.*
Dragoshi: *Continues with his attempts at trying to open the terminal door.*
Metal Man (GM): Left or Right... the left path appears to have more light. Dragoshi rips open the door, knocking one side of the door off.
Deloth: *Right, in keeping with his "Alternate directions" thing.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds a another split... left or right. It's on the edge of the forest, however.
Deloth: *LEFT.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth walks out... he sees the chopper and Lance again.
Lance looks over the general area for shiny objects.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth has gone in a perfect circle.
Lance: "Hi Del!"
Deloth: "...HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!"
Dragoshi: "...whoops." >_>;;
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi ripped off the door.
Deloth dashes back into the non-Euclidean forest.
Metal Man (GM): One of them, at least. I'll abbreviate the maze parts so Deloth can move through it again, faster... R/L.
Dragoshi: *Gets to work on the next door, if possible.*
Deloth: R.
Metal Man (GM): R/L. Dragoshi can simply enter the terminal now, it's a long corridor...
Deloth: R.
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi harms his hand on the next door. R/L.
Deloth: L.
Metal Man (GM): L/DL/DR/R.
Deloth: "Uh... XYZZY!"
Dragoshi: "...Eh." *Just walks on in.*
Deloth holds his hands up expectantly.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth see... the sky looks nice today. Dragoshi sees inside the terminal. It is a long, unstable corridor. He finds holes in the floor, and it wobbles as he walks down. Lance finds... nothing.
Deloth: "..." *Remembers he came from the left direction.*
Lance goes back to looking over the helicopter.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth is now with the four-way path he saw before.
Dragoshi: *Carefully walks along the corridor, making sure to avoid the holes.*
Metal Man (GM): Lance sees no more flaws... the man's just repairing one of the components now.
Deloth: *DR.*
Metal Man (GM): L/R.
Lance: "Hmm, nothing left to do, Just as well to wait for Deloth again."
Deloth: *L.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth goes left... ...left... more left... the path is very long. Deloth leaves the Final Egg Area... for the depths of the Deep Forest area. Deloth is now atop a high end of it, overlooking the endless, maze-like forest that awaits him if he climbs a ladder down into it. There's temples and it's a pretty hard to navigate looking area. On the plus side, Big might be in this mess... somewhere. Dragoshi gets on in the terminal... and find an old, ruined elevator. It's dark and dank, and rusted in here. He feels the tower he's in wobble.
Deloth climbs down the ladder. Headache start!
Dragoshi: *Looks around for stairs.*
Lance lays on the ground and waits for Deloth to pop back up.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth is on a new path. He sees... A weird house. And a giant purple cat. Fishing. He can go to the house... ...Or L/R into the forest of this area.
Deloth walks over to the cat. Well, he IS big...
Metal Man (GM): The cat turns to him.
Big: "Hewwooo! Who are you?"
Metal Man (GM): He has a frog on his shoulder.
Deloth: "Er... hiya. Would you happen to be Big, by any chance?"
Big: "Yes I am. I'm fishing out here." He picks up an old propeller. "I once flew a jet plane!"
Metal Man (GM): He looks too big to fit in any plane.
Deloth: "Oh, hallelujah... listen, if it's okay, I think our group needs to meet with you."
Big: "Oookay. Where are they?"
Deloth: "That's... sort of the problem. I got lost in that big maze back up there, so I couldn't really give you directions through it."
Big: "Directions? I don't need directions! Just tell me where they are, and I'll find them!" He sounds a lot like Barney. "After all, I found Froggy... and Froggy ran onto a giant flying space ship!"
Deloth: "Final Egg, I think."
Big: "Okay!" He runs off for the ladder.
Metal Man (GM): He's slow on the ground.
Deloth: *Follows Big.*
Metal Man (GM): He gets on the ladder... crud! He climbs ladders like a madman!
Deloth: *And when I say yes, I mean DAMMIT YES I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT DAMN MAZE AGAIN YES YES A THO--*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth manages to keep up. Big is now walking through the maze like it was nothing. Deloth can easily follow him.
Deloth: *YES HE DOES.*
Big: "Oh, you mean this place? This isn't bad. I go through here all the time!"
Deloth: *teeth clenched.* "Good for you."
Metal Man (GM): He soon leaves the maze. Lance gets a rude awakening. Big steps on him as he walks out into the clearing.
Big: "Okay... now what?"
Franz: "I zee you have found Beeeg."
Lance: "Oof alkfkslg."
Franz: "But he iz too beeg for the helicoptehr."
Deloth: "Uh, Big, take a few steps forward, please."
Metal Man (GM): Big walks a little bit further away.
Lance: "Phew. Ow. One way to wake up."
Big: "Okay... so... I see a man... and a pancake man... and... did somebody go in there?" He points at the final Egg terminal. "That's a bad place. Evil robots will steal your froggy!"
Deloth: "...I'll be right back." *runs into the terminal.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth sees that Dragoshi is at the end of it, fighting with the elevator.
Deloth: "Hey, Drag! I found Big!"
Lance: "So, Big, what do you know about fixing boats? Or boat related things, we got advice you could help us."
Big: "Oooh. I like boats! They make nice noises!" He... doesn't look like a boat fixer.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth falls into a hole. He grabs onto the edge and pulls himself up. Never stepping on that rusted part again! He is where Dragoshi is now.
Deloth grabs Drago and forcibly takes him back to Big and the others. Screw politeness by this point.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth grabs n' drags him over. The helicopter is basically fixed.
Big: "Okay... what you need?"
Lance: "Deloth can explain."
Deloth: "...I thought YOU guys needed him."
Lance: "We were told he could help us... can you help us move parts big?"
Big: "Yes, it is--"
Franz: "Bah! Did you not remebehr? Tails and that guy with gadgets will have them sheeped. No moveng needed!"
Lance: "I thought we had to pick them up at his workshop. all well."
Franz: "No. 'E and zee Digeetal Persohn have them shipped from zee place to zee beach!"
Big: "Do you... need anything else? I can fish!"
Lance: "Looks like we don't. Sorry Deloth dragged you out here Big. Unless you can think of something Del?"
Deloth: "Alright, wait. You mean I got lost in a maze, went in circles, and nearly had one massive aneurysm out of frustration... all for nothing?"
Big: *Shrugs at Deloth.*
Franz: "Thees is why you don't go eento mazes. Believe mez, I know!"
Deloth: "...Fire up that helicopter so that I can jump into the running blades, please."
Franz: "Not enough fueel!" He winks.
Deloth: "..."
Deloth starts slamming his head into the side of the copter while screaming incoherently.
Big: "No! Don't hurt yourself!" He... grabs Deloth and... hugs him so he can't do any more self-injury.
Franz: "..." He begins chuckling.
Metal Man (GM): And on that note... we change perspectives. However... not immediately to Digi! Behold...
Deloth continues ranting loudly in nonsense while the scene changes...
Metal Man (GM): Cutscene #1: Dragoshi was dragged from the Final Egg corridor to witness this scene. His presence was not ignored, however. A rusted E-100 series bot's viewpoint is seen; the world is green and black. The E-100 is hiding inside the terminal, watching the scene from inside. It scans the Questers. It comes up with 'UNKNOWN' It walks back into the base and leaps down the elevator shaft. It then presses a button on the side of its head, inside a pitch black room.
Robot: "This is Unit 129 Reporting to Eggman. Unknown beings spotted outside of Location 53A."
Metal Man (GM): Its screen fills with data. Encrypted communications.
Robot: "Assignment has been changed: Observe Unknown beings. Possible affiliation with Sonic."
Metal Man (GM): It turns around. Meanwhile, in Central City... Tails and Digi have landed and are in the airport. Tails is on the phone.
Tails: "Now, those parts. I told you I'm not doing work until you pay me for that last shipment. Send those parts and I might be willing to do a little bit more. ...No. I won't do more work 'because I'm supposed to.' You've changed... ...Fine, send them over and charge me."
Metal Man (GM): He hangs up.
Tails: "I swear, something has happened to those guys. They didn't use to be so obsessed..."
Digifanatic: "Odd, the receptionist was pretty nice to us."
Tails: "To you, yes. You volunteered to find me."
Digifanatic: "True... so we just wait here for now?"
Tails: "They want me to make a project, but they are short on funds... No, we have a little work to do. Besides, I won't be able to stay once your friends are back. I have to look for the Eggman. I haven't quite caught your name... what is it, exactly?"
Digifanatic: "Just call me Ian."
Tails: "Okay, Ian. I'm curious." He begins walking down the terminal. "Where did you come from? How did you know my name exactly?"
Digifanatic: "I've got a nickname a lot of friends call me by, but it's a really long story and now isn't the time for long stories. Except for what you just asked me."
Tails: "We have a bit of a flight ahead of us... I can listen." He's walking towards the Tornado again.
Digifanatic: *follows.* "We all came from what should best be described as an alternate universe."
Tails: "I have investigated theories of those. Sonic and I have visited one before. What is your universe like?"
Digifanatic: "We were part of a police force, so to say, and a lot of the work we did often mingled with alliances between various folks."
Metal Man (GM): He walks outside. Some robots are cleaning the Tornado, so he sits down on a bench.
Digifanatic: "And well, some of those folks included you... Sonic... even Knuckles... Dr. Robotnik was one of enemies for a while, too!"
Tails: "A police force. I got that idea... you seemed to be armed, or at least. You're almost like those GUN people... only you aren't so robotic."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, kinda."
Tails: "Hm... what brought you here? You aren't known here. None of us have heard of you before."
Digifanatic: "Our boss told us we had nothing left to do on our old planet. Literally."
Tails: "Odd..." He makes a intrigued expression. "I don't think that's possible... who was your boss? What was his motive for that?"
Digifanatic: "All of our enemies had been done in and everything was peaceful enough such that everyone who wanted to keep the job had no choice but to move on."
Metal Man (GM): The plane is cleaned; now they are fixing up the insides a bit, it needed an oil change. Digi notices the plane is very complex looking.
Digifanatic: "Our boss... Illian Macgregor, we often called him by a nickname, Metal Man, because of his armor."
Metal Man (GM): Tails begins writing some things down.
Digifanatic: "Good guy. Bit wacky sometimes, but he held us through when we needed it."
Tails: "He sounds all right... except..." He looks through some earlier notes in his notebook. "I've studied the chaos emeralds. There is no such thing as absolute peace... Maybe your realm runs differently... but... why haven't I seen this person?"
Digifanatic: "Well, like I said, alternate universe... And as for him, well, I'm not sure if he's made it through, or if he's even interested in going. We left first."
Tails: "Hm. Left where? Your home world?"
Digifanatic: "The last planet we... worked at, back in the previous universe."
Tails: "Hm!" He writes something down. "You saw all of us. What were the chaos emeralds like, if you had any?"
Digifanatic: "Probably not much different than those here. Just because the universes aren't identical doesn't mean every little detail is different."
Tails: "Different... what happened when they were used? I have a theory... having been in other worlds."
Digifanatic: "Well, I never got to see much of it, but if you held all of them at once you were practically a juggernaut in combat."
Tails: "That's a given... did it change anything about the person? Did they... become more aggressive?" The maintenance is nearly done.
Digifanatic: "Well, I remember Sonic had that happen to him once or twice. He went from blue to a real bright yellowish-gold. And he basically do harm to his opponents simply by touching them."
Metal Man (GM): Tails looks at Digi blankly, then drops the subject abruptly.
Tails: "We should go now."
Digifanatic: "Ohhhhhh kaaaaaaaaay..."
Metal Man (GM): The ship is ready, he gets into the pilot part of it.
Digifanatic: *follows on in--co-pilot seat.*
Metal Man (GM): A few moments pass. Tails is now flying overhead, nearing the area where the others are gathered.
Tails: "You be careful, now. And tell me if you find Eggman's robots anywhere. We've been looking for him..."
Digifanatic: "Okay, that's cool. We'll be likely to be hanging around this island for a while, so we should be able to talk back. Unless you folks call this whole group of three a contingent..."
Metal Man (GM): The plane lands, where the others are. Tails gets out. He checks his watch, and then speaks.
Tails: "The parts should be there by the time you arrive at the beach. You intend to go across the boundary in the ocean, right?"
Digifanatic: *gets off as well.* "Thank you very much. I'll start heading back now. Hopefully, the others will arrive soon enough."
Metal Man (GM): Big has left, and Deloth is now on the ground.
Franz: "Ah... zee chopper is readee."
Lance: "Yes, we are."
Digifanatic: "Uh, we never--well, maybe we'll take the copter back to the airport... Whether or not that's what you mean, we'll get back to Central City that way and head west to the coast."
Deloth: "Just as long as there's NO MORE MAZES."
Digifanatic: "Oh?"
Dragoshi: "Eh?"
Julian: "Yeah, 'parently Del figured it'd be worth it to get lost in the forest for a bit. Brought back this bigass cat we didn' even need."
Digifanatic: "Huh."
Julian: "Anyway, let's go get those parts."
Franz: "Zey are at zee beach." He gets in the helicopter. "I assume you wish to go there?"
Digifanatic: "Hopefully the trip back will be less bumpy, but yeah."
Julian: "Sure, why not." *into zee choppah.*
Lance: *Getting in.* "If you don't mind. See ya Tails!"
Dragoshi: "Mhm."
Deloth: *GET IN DA CHOPPA.*
Digifanatic: *You stole my line, Deloth.*
Dragoshi: *Enter chopper, stage whatever!*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers enter the chopper... and it begins flying towards the beach. Tails doesn't even say anything as the Questers leave. Tails' plane soon takes off in another direction.
Franz: "So, where do you plan on going?"
Digifanatic: "Emerald Coast Beach."
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Julian: "Hell if I know."
Franz: "I mean... with zee boat you are buildeeng."
Metal Man (GM): As the group nears the beach, he looks around.
Digifanatic: "It's for a friend, actually."
Julian: "Again, hell if I know."
Franz: "Weel then." He hovers over the beach. "Down wee go."
Metal Man (GM): He makes a perfect landing. The group is now on the beach.
Julian: *At the beach!*
Metal Man (GM): Marley is still there, busy fishing.
Julian: "'Zis the dude you was gettin' the boat parts for?"
Deloth: "Yep."
Digifanatic: "Yes."
Dragoshi: "Mhm."
Marley: "Oh. It's you." He looks around. "So... the parts came. And apparently, they said they'd been paid for."
Metal Man (GM): Yet the Questers still have the money for them...
Julian: "Fancy that."
Marley: "You found some guy... oh, yes. Tails. Odd. Did you perhaps find out where Sonic went, too? I thought they had been missing..."
Deloth: "We didn't see him."
Julian: "No dice."
Dragoshi: "Yea. We didn't find 'im."
Marley: "Hmmm... I also saw some strange men... thugs from Westopolis."
Digifanatic: "Oh, those freaks..."
Marley: "I overheard them... there's a large bounty on you now. You fooled their leader. Guess you'll have to decide what to do now. Keep the money; these parts are more than I expected... I'll be building up the boat again... you can take it anywhere with me if you want. And you're always welcome to rest here, although... I'm beginning to fear those thugs may be on to you."
Digifanatic: "Very nice."
Julian: "What thugs?"
Digifanatic: "Oh, a few whackjobs we had to deal with before you met back up with us."
Marley: "The ones who generally wear black clothes and originate in Westopolis. They don't leave it often, but they say you've... offended them."
Julian: "Ooooh, so you guys already had a throwdown 'fore I showed up."
Dragoshi: "Yep."
Digifanatic: "It wasn't much of one."
Dragoshi: "I stole one of their guns."
Julian: "Let's beat their heads in."
Digifanatic: "They are idiots."
Julian: "Where they at?"
Marley: "Westopolis."
Lance: "We do not go there. Ever again."
Marley: "They're... well armed though. The only reason they went so easy on you was, according to the guy I overheard, they took you for idiots."
Julian: "We gonna haf'ta take these guys out sooner or later."
Lance: "-ever-"
Marley: "Well, you can always split up." He smiles.
Lance: "Better to fight them out of the bomb crazy town."
Digifanatic: "Do you have any idea about their background?"
Marley: "They're crooks who corrupt governments and run various shady businesses... Al is one of their affiliates."
Deloth: "Oh joy."
Marley: "GUN's destruction of Eggman caused them to fill in for his mooks."
Digifanatic: "Oh, that nut!"
Dragoshi: "Funtastic."
Marley: "They're nowhere near as intelligent, but they have lots of weapons."
Julian: "So let's go pay this Al guy a visit."
Marley: "He's in Central City, but if he's there, that means he has inside people with him..."
Lance: "Yep, the police are bought. and gun is to busy."
Digifanatic: "And now is when a guy like Sonic would really help."
Marley: "Of course, none of you seem to know where he is..."
Digifanatic: "But he's off wherever... would Knuckles be a good backup? We'd need to find a way to Angel Island, but he seems to be the type that would be willing to beat up annoying little freaks."
Marley: "He protects the Master Emerald, though. I don't think he'd leave..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, true... can't distract him from that job."
Marley: "I'll let you guys decide." He walks over and begins work on the boat.
Digifanatic: *turns to the others.* "We can't go to Westopolis... Al or one of his buddies could easily find us in Central City, and the last time we saw thugs was just outside Station Square."
Julian: "I say we go find this Al guy and make an example of 'em."
Lance: "And get arrested."
Dragoshi: "Yep."
Digifanatic: "Well, depends on whether or not the police like or hate these thugs."
Dragoshi: "..." *Facepalm.*
Lance: "No, it depends on how high up he bought them."
Digifanatic: "Oh. Sorry..."
Julian: "So we expose whatever racket he's runnin'. The police either back us up or get slammed by the public."
Deloth: "Or we get shot."
Lance: "Or the public ignores us. .. then we get shot."
Digifanatic: "You know... we've faced enemies that are ridiculously more tougher, arrogant, et cetera."
Julian: "So what, you guys 're SCARED or something? You got any better ideas?"
Lance: "Yeah, but it feels like we got reset when we got here. I mean, I can't toss around my shield of uberpowerness anymore."
Deloth: "And I'm still not sure what I can and can't do. I say we just lay low for a bit and kick ass when we're stronger."
Lance: "Not scared, practical. We should really wait till we are stronger."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, it's not like they haven't corrupted anything yet."
Julian: "An' what do you suggest we do in the mean time? Who we gonna fight, if not him?"
Digifanatic: "Random underlings?"
Lance: "The next wave of slightly stronger goons he sends at us?"
Digifanatic: "Well, until it looks like we've made our match, we keep disposing of the cannon fodder and hiding everything so it isn't obvious what happened. Then we retreat, gather what we've learned, and base our next campaign off of that. Repeat until we get strong enough to take down the big guys."
Metal Man (GM): Marley is slowly making his boat; the Questers see him fixing a bombed out hulk.
Digifanatic: *waits for a response.* "But if that's too risky, maybe we can head out to Angel Island--if we can't drag Knuckles away from the island, maybe we can ask him where Sonic is and maybe one of them might have some favors for us."
Julian: "But that's boring. Fight, run, fight, run, fight, run. No fun in that! We need somethin' to DO."
Deloth: "Then let's NOT GET KILLED."
Julian: "That bein' said, I support goin' to Angel Island if y'all too scared of Big Bad Al to take him on."
Deloth: "Fine with me."
Digifanatic: "I'm not scared, but there is a point taken when we realize we're still a bit on the weak side. I find a difference between having enough firepower to take down Al but wimping out at the last second versus avoiding him completely cause you know you won't be able to match, if not, better him."
Deloth: "...And by the time we finish arguing, it'll be a moot point."
Digifanatic: "So, lay low, do some errands, fight some random cannon fodder on Angel Island or elsewhere that has no idea what's going on, build ourselves up and then take on the mob at once?"
Deloth: "Sounds like a plan."
Dragoshi: "Sounds like it could work out..."
Julian: "Whatever."
Digifanatic: "Is there anybody that opposes my idea?"
Metal Man (GM): Some more time passes. The Questers are still on the beach, and, many of them were still arguing what to do. Marley is busy building his boat back up with the parts they got. It's about mid-day now, and a bit warm. The ocean is at low tide. It is foggy out in the ocean.
Aribar is off to the side of the others, listening to the discussion but not taking part in it for the moment. For the past few missions of time the elf has been adjusting to this new world, protecting their little beach hideout from possibly non-existent threats, and pretty much just relaxing.*
Digifanatic: *noticing the weather.* "Hmm... Angel Island's out of the question. Marley, what's Western Island like? At least all we have to do is go due northwest, or west if necessary."
Marley: "It's a ways out there... and my boat isn't complete yet."
Digifanatic: "Can we help?"
Marley: "Ol' Eggman took it over once. It's normal now, but a bit desolate. Naw, you'd just mess it up. This is complex work." He sticks together very strange looking wires and circuit boards.
Digifanatic: "Ah... thanks for the tip, then."
Marley: "You just find something to do for a while and I'll be able to take you there... although... there's the unresolved problem of crazies and GUN at the edge of the sea. And that's near that island. Odds are GUN will have a nice base and expect you to stay away..."
Digifanatic: .oO(Dang it!)
Marley: "We could make a run across that border, but it'd be pretty dangerous."
Digifanatic: *out loud.* "They're practically everywhere, huh?"
Aribar: "They wouldn't welcome our help in dealing with these 'crazies'?"
Marley: "No. You've talked to them before, right? They don't want any interference, good or bad."
Digifanatic: "Aribar, that officer and the green Sonic wannabe were GUN guys."
Aribar: "The officer was a... Bit more amiable and friendly than the hedgehog."
Deloth: "So what are we gonna do while we wait, anyways?"
Aribar: "In any case, I apologize for not being with you guys in the past few excursions. I've missed some goals being completed and new problems popping up I bet..."
Marley: "Well. I can tell you more about this place. If you need any specific thing, I probably have an idea..."
Digifanatic: "It's okay... what sucks is the entire north end of this island essentially requires us to go through one of the zones where we're on the blacklist."
Deloth: "I sort of wish I had gotten to check out that library a little more..."
Marley: "Blacklist? You managed to go through Central City all right, if not disarmed..."
Digifanatic: "Well, Central City has got all those cops, and don't the thugs own the police offices or something?"
Aribar: "Westopolis was filled with thugs. Central City had police, but we can always store our weapons or buy those locks."
Marley: *shrug.* "Thugs don't usually control the police, just buy their silence."
Aribar: "And I recall that they were... A bit corrupt. At least by 'Al's' word."
Marley: "It'd be unprofitable to 'own' the police, as that would imply widescale corruption and great amounts of money... if they did you could probably expose it. I dunno."
Julian: *COUGH.*
Digifanatic: "Yes?"
Deloth stands up and starts wandering off. This discussion is too boring for his tastes.
Julian: "Nothin', just sounded like Marely was backin' my idea, is all."
Digifanatic: "Oh. Yeah, like I said, when we all came back after we got him the parts, I recommended heading back to the police station to get us somewhere to store our stuff and said recommendation got shot down."
Marley: "You're obviously not strong enough to, like, just kill Al and walk away, but I think if you want to do something, I wouldn't let thugs prevent you... I dunno."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth wanders around some more.
Aribar: "Personally, the law-upholding side of me wants to find a way to get rid of the corruptive influences in Central City, and possibly even Westopolis..."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would notice something shiny and clanky sneaking around in some sand dunes off in the distance. The rest see nothing.
Digifanatic: *back to Marley.* "True. As I've said, I wouldn't mind getting rid of some cannon fodder, but what if one of the big guys sees this and sticks his butt in the situation and suddenly, we're the screwed side?"
Aribar narrows his half-elven eyes, looking off into the distance... Is he seeing things? That sorta... Looks like a robot or something.*
Digifanatic: *turns to Aribar.* "What's odd?"
Marley: "Well, there's the thing. If you stand around long enough, they'll find you."
Aribar: "I'll be back in a moment... I think I see something over there." *Points.* "Probably just another traveler like us... Or something."
Marley: "Thugs and their overlords are always doing something. And eventually you'll be their goal if you keep on messing up their plans."
Aribar tries to get on top of a nearby hill or something to get a better look.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar walks up to the top of the hill... It is fairly easy for him to see from there... something moving around, though whatever it was is moving for the jungle...
Digifanatic: "And that's what Julian doesn't want to do. He's not interested in guerrilla fight/retreat/guerrilla fight/retreat, etc. He wants to take care of everything in one swoop, which would be nice. And to be completely honest, I often wind up trusting him more than myself."
Aribar heads back down to the others.* "Huh... I saw some sort of shiny thing headed towards the jungle... I don't know if it was just some armored thing, a robot, or something else."
Julian: "Sounds like somethin' to do. Let's go." *To the jungle.*
Digifanatic: *follows Jules.*
Marley: "Hm." He goes back to his work, as Julian goes to the jungle.
Metal Man (GM): *Cue 'Welcome to the Jungle.'*
Aribar hesitates for a moment at this spontaneous decision... Then decides to wave goodbye to Marley, get his sword, and head after the others.*
Dragoshi: *Goes to get his scythe and treasure chest containing a machinegun, then follows Julian and Ari.*
Digifanatic: *Takes his weapon back out of the chest and pockets it--he might wind up needing it in case a fight goes down.*
Deloth blinks, runs back and grabs his sword, then takes off towards the rest of the gang.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers make their way into the forest. It seems they have lost the robot. There's nothing obvious here...
Julian: "Which way'd you see it go, Ari?"
Deloth: "Will you people stop running off without me?!"
Digifanatic: "Aww man... Ari, what did it look like? You get a glimpse of its color or anything like that?"
Aribar looks about for tracks in the ground, or traces of sand from the beach.* "Ahh... Only somewhere in here. If it is an armored person or a robot or something, it ought to be heavy enough to leave prints... I think. The only detail I could see from that distance was that it was trying to be... Sneaky in a way."
Julian: "Which means it's up to somethin'. Never trust a robot." *Julian also looks for tracks or something similar.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar discovers a handful of mud. Julian and Digi both trip over some footprints... sneakily placed just to the LEFT of the path.
Julian: "Bingo!" *Follow the prints.*
Dragoshi: *Follows behind Julian.*
Deloth: *Follow the Julian.*
Metal Man (GM): Following them leads the Questers off the trail.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I think we got it." *keeps following the prints.*
Metal Man (GM): It's a dense forest... one could get lost.
Digifanatic: "Everyone, stay close and don't be afraid to look down."
Julian: "Dragoshi, burn the forest down."
Metal Man (GM): This is a lot of forest to burn.
Deloth: "...you have got to be kidding."
Aribar: "... I don't think we need to burn the entire forest down..."
Dragoshi: "...I don't think we need to either..."
Julian: "Well we don't wanna get lost, do we? Cut us a path or somethin', then."
Aribar: "If we just singe the leaves on the side of the trail we could leave such a trail..."
Deloth carves a notch into a nearby tree trunk. "There. Marker."
Digifanatic: "That works."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers stand there, listening to the noises, and Deloth carves a notch.
Digifanatic: "Now I know I don't have any swords, but that's a good idea."
Metal Man (GM): The tracks appear to move about erratically up ahead.
Julian: *Julian follows the tracks, provided someone's leaving them a path. If not, Julian lets his bag drag in the dirt to provide one.*
Digifanatic: *Any headway on this robot works--better to keep it safe and know we've got tracks than be lost in the middle of the forest. Also, you can have all the notches in the forest you want but that means nothing if you get lost and that robot just keeps gaining ground.*
Aribar follows the others.*
Deloth whacks notches into the trees as he walks.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers move ever-so-slowly through the forest, taking a bizarre path which they've never seen before, although occasionally they have a view of the normal path.
Dragoshi: *Follows behind..*
Metal Man (GM): They walk so far, only to notice the tracks... and the ground... end at the end of a cliff. They see Central City to the Southeast.
Deloth: "...Oh, come ON."
Julian: "..."
Metal Man (GM): There's another cliff far across, about 50 feet.
Aribar looks down at the tracks left by the robot as they're walking along... And comes to a halt when he nearly steps off the cliff.*
Digifanatic: "Awwww..." *looks to see if the robot's on the opposite cliff.* *Maybe it's got 1337 h4x hovering/flying skillz.*
Julian: "Don't tell me it jumped..."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would see the tree across the area with a huge dent in it. The cliff below is 100 feet tall.
Julian: *That's a big fall.*
Deloth: "Maybe I can climb down..."
Metal Man (GM): The forest is continuous around the edge, however...
Digifanatic: "How about we walk 5 feet back in and follow the edge of the cliff from inside the forest?"
Julian: "Maybe there's a way across or somethin'."
Metal Man (GM): That is, it's sort of a ( with the Questers at the base of the ( and the robot apparently went to the other side of the (, using a straight line...
Aribar: "We could, Digi... But if he didn't land right at the edge on the opposite side, we may loose the trail."
Deloth: *Looks at the bottom of the cliff.*
Digifanatic: "Huh."
Metal Man (GM): Nowhere near far enough to get across. At the bottom of the cliff is... city. Central City stuff.
Deloth: *Looks to see if the cliff is climbable.*
Metal Man (GM): ...It's steep, but yes, it is.
Aribar: "He could have jumped down into the city..."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar still see the dented tree across the gap.
Digifanatic: "Mind if I walk around the edge of the forest to the opposite cliff, see if that's more accessible?"
Aribar: "I suppose the best thing to do would be to hurry around the edge..."
Digifanatic: "Close enough... just stay far enough in so we don't trip and stumble over the edge."
Deloth: "Fine." *starts heading around the edge. Whee.*
Metal Man (GM): That's simple enough, although the robot has likely hightailed it away by now.
Digifanatic: "We know how to mark our trail, so I've got no problem going that way." *follows Deloth, staying just enough feet inward where the cliff isn't as nasty of a presence.*
Dragoshi: *Does the same as Digi. Whee.*
Deloth also continues chopping notches in trees.
Julian: "Nothin's ever easy." *Heads with the group.*
Aribar follows the others. At least as long as they have a trail they can follow the robot..*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers sloowly make it to the pass. The robot was betting the Questers wouldn't even try to follow it, but it's a robot. It's sorta dumb. It's all down hill from here--literally. It's a very sloping hill that constantly goes downhill. It apparently fled into the deepest parts of the jungle...
Deloth: *He blames Julian if this goes wrong. He continues ahead.*
Digifanatic: *It's a chance he feels like taking. He also continues ahead.*
Aribar follows the others... They had no reason for chasing this robot other than because it exists... And now they're going to be stubborn and find out where it's going! The elf figures that they've been in tougher scraps before, but he feels a bit unprepared now.*
Deloth: "Hey, guys, I had an idea for what another one of my moves might be."
Digifanatic: "Eh?"
Aribar glances over at Del.
Deloth: "An Antipode. Mixing light and dark and making it blow up on somebody."
Julian: "Good for you." *Into the place where it might be difficult to escape from.*
Aribar: "Just make sure you can control the explosion so that we don't get caught in it."
Dragoshi: *Wonders if he should cut down a tree and go tree surfing down the hill or not.* .oO(I mean, it could be a fun thing to do, buuut... What're the risks? Well, aside from accidentally falling off and going down the painful way, but still...)
Aribar: *Over the hills and through the woods, to grandmetal's house we go!*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers have been chasing this robot, and they follow it all the way to the depths of the forest... And down there is a rusted out old base. The door's been left open. The bot obviously entered it.
Julian: "Paydirt."
Digifanatic: "Let's hit it." *starts to walk in.*
Aribar: "I can't help but get the feeling that this is related to Eggman... Supposedly he's gone in this world, but we all know exactly how little death and being defeated matters to him."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers enter the base... the robot is standing in there. It's dark. The robot scans the Questers with a laser. It walks before them in a neutral pose.
Aribar follows the others, the little marks of fear in his mind beginning to make him think that they're in over their heads.*
Eggbot: "STATE PURPOSE AND FUNCTION. THIS IS FINAL EGG BASE. ALL SYSTEMS WERE DESTROYED APPROXIMATELY A YEAR AGO."
Julian: *w* "I got nothin'."
Digifanatic: *w* "Yeah, nothing that wouldn't already provoke a fight."
Aribar: *w* "Perhaps we should... Just be truthful?"
Julian: *QUESTER HUDDLE.*
Metal Man (GM): It does not mind that the Questers are standing there... Weird.
Julian: *w* "Do we even HAVE a purpose right now?"
Digifanatic: *w* "No, unless you count natural curiosity, which is very doubtful."
Aribar: *w* "No... I say we ask about its purpose, or where Eggman is. Or Sonic... Isn't he missing?"
Digifanatic: *w* "Indeed he is."
Julian: *w* "I don't think he'd tell us where Sonic is... but I'm all for learnin' about what happened."
Aribar: *w* "Mind if I go for it, then?"
Julian: *w* "No complaints here." *BREAK.*
Aribar addresses the robot.* "Our purpose and function is to investigate this base and anything in connection to Eggman, Dr. Robotnik, or Sonic."
Eggbot: "YOU ARE NOT OF A HIGH ENOUGH PERMISSION LEVEL TO KNOW ANY MORE THAN YOU DO." It beeps. "AND THE EGGMAN IS NO LONGER AROUND TO GIVE YOU THAT."
Julian: "How do we get to a higher permission level, then?"
Eggbot: "THERE IS NOTHING TO SEE IN THIS BASE FOR YOU IF THAT IS YOUR PURPOSE. YOU CANNOT OBTAIN IT."
Aribar: "What can you tell us about this base?"
Julian: "A'ight, then how 'bout you tell us what YOUR purpose an' function is."
Eggbot: "I AM AN EGGBOT." It stands there, uselessly in the way.
Aribar: "How many more of you are there?"
Eggbot: "..." It does not respond.
Metal Man (GM): The top of its head lights up.
Aribar: "Will you let us--Gah!"
Metal Man (GM): It suddenly sparks to attention.
Dragoshi: "...eh?"
Julian: *?*
Eggbot: "IF YOU DO SOMETHING FOR ME, YOU CAN POSSIBLY FIND SOMETHING OUT."
Julian: "Oh, by all means, tell us."
Metal Man (GM): Its voice crackles. Going down to normal volume?
Eggbot: "The base is down and useless in its current state. Even Eggman could not use it if he were alive to do so. However you appear to have access to cities. Obtain these from GUN and you shall be enlightened."
Metal Man (GM): It prints out a rough picture of a glowing tube. A caption below it says 'Chaos Drive.'
Eggbot: "They can be bought. You will simply neeed to find a good cover story."
Deloth: "What are they for?"
Eggbot: "To power the base."
Julian: "...How the hell we gonna find a good cover story for somethin' called a Chaos Drive?"
Eggbot: "If you succeed I will be at your services."
Eggbot: "I am an egg bot. I cannot think that part out."
Aribar: "Note that we will need a bit of background information in order to fulfill your request... Such as why you want this base powered up, the legality of doing this, and so on."
Julian: "Yo' uselessbot mo' like it. What'd you plan on usin' this base fo', anyway?"
Eggbot: "If you worry about that, you do not belong here."
Aribar: .oO(To make the threat of turning it into GUN or not...) "Would we be able to use this base if we power it up?"
Eggbot: "Yes."
Julian: "For... what?"
Eggbot: "Any purpose you wish. You would be the new Eggman."
Digifanatic: "Is there any substitute for chaos energy besides one of those drives?"
Eggbot: "Power generators but they are not particularly efficient and do not last as long as chaos drives."
Digifanatic: "Okay then."
Dragoshi: *not stand for this.
Digifanatic: "Are there any uniforms in here that might help our cause?"
Aribar looks to the others.* "Do we even have anything valuable to buy such an item with?"
Julian: "A'ight, now that we got us a purpose... We just gotta get our hands on the drive."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers still have those 30 rings they never used or distributed...
Aribar: "If Eggman were to return... Would you return control of this base to him?"
Julian: "We got some cash on us. If we pool it together we might be able to get it."
Eggbot: "No. You would be the new Eggman. Eggman programmed me to regard anyone who did such services to be Eggman."
Digifanatic: *turns to Aribar.* "You said the GUN officer was kind of a good guy towards us but the green hedgehog wasn't. I wonder if they're always partners or if they split up on occasion..."
Julian: "Hmmm... A'ight, think we got everythin' we can outta this conversation. Let's bounce, fellas."
Aribar shrugs to Digi.* "Not sure. They could have been the two closest officers... One more thing. Hypothetical question... Assuming we did this task and maintained this base and used it as our own, is there anything anyone else could do to take the title of 'Eggman' from us?"
Eggbot: "Not unless you all died first and left the base in a state of disrepair... and gave no successors."
Aribar: "It does not seem as if there are many loopholes to this plan... I suppose I agree to this."
Eggbot: "I will wait for you."
Julian: "It'd be nice to have somewhere to sleep wit'out payin' rent."
Aribar nods to the Eggbot and turns to the others.* "So we have thirty rings. We're going to a town where we'll need to deposit our weapons to enter. We need to buy an expensive item and have a very good excuse for buying it..."
Julian: "Not it."
Dragoshi: "Not it."
Digifanatic: "Not it. And I really don't feel like having the title 'Eggman' stamped onto me."
Deloth: "I could do it."
Aribar: "..."
Digifanatic: "What do you think? Call it a moot point and head back t--seriously?!"
Deloth: *shrug.* "Sure, why not."
Julian: "Del's the frontman, let's go."
Aribar: "You want to persuade GUN that we need a Chaos Drive?"
Julian: *To the city!*
Deloth: "I need a little excitement, anyways." *heads for the city and leaves his weapons for the others.*
Digifanatic: *a bit nervous but fortunate it won't be him trying to pull the deed... after all, they might start with this task but wind up doing something completely different that's better for their cause!* "Okay then."
Aribar follows the others, a bit flabbergasted.* "But... But... This is Deloth... He would rather stick a sword into someone's gut then persuade them to put down their arms!"
Julian: *Julian's coming along to supervise.* "So you wanna go, Ari?"
Digifanatic: "I don't mind hanging along as well, but only as a sideline guy in case Deloth needs backup."
Dragoshi: *Decides to stay behind. Just in case.*
Aribar just sighs and follows Del.* "This is... Just an odd choice. Everyone else supports it, so I might as well come along for the ride..."
Deloth: "Mmm... the thrill of a massive deception. Tasty."
Aribar: "Er... Want some company, Dragoshi? Just in case something happens?"
Dragoshi: "Company's always good."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth, and some others leave for the city, as others stay outside it...
Digifanatic: *gives his Digivice back to Dragoshi, with the chest.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth see the GUN HQ, the police, and other places in Central City...
Digifanatic: *And then walks with the others.*
Julian: *Julian gets to take his bag with him.*
Digifanatic: *But not with Deloth.*
Aribar (belatedly) stays behind with Drag.*
Deloth: *Police station, at least for now.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth opens the door. McClintock looks.
Police: "What do you need..."
Julian: "Whoa whoa whoa, didn't he say we could get one from G-Yo!"
Deloth: "Don't worry, okay? We're not here for directions again. Listen, we've found Tails. Been doing a few errands for him. He needs a Chaos Drive for a few experiments he's been trying and he told us to talk to GUN about one. We figured you might know."
Digifanatic: .oO(That's a good one.)
Police: "Uh, yes, you just buy them from the general store now. They're used in many things."
Julian: "...Well ain't that a bitch."
Police: "Drove the battery makers out of business long ago..."
Deloth: "Huh. Guess the kid got mixed up over it or something. He seems kind of... focused on his projects. Anyways, thanks for the info. We're heading out now."
Julian: "A'ight, we'll be goin' then. Thanks officer." *To the... general store. Yeh.*
Police: "Just tell me if anything suspicious happens."
Deloth: "No prob."
Julian: *Julian thumbs up as he walks out the door.*
Digifanatic: *flashes an okay sign of his own.*
Deloth: *General store!*
Digifanatic: *Follow follow follow.*
Metal Man (GM): It's... Al's General store.
Deloth grins slightly and shakes his head. "Never a dull moment."
Julian: *Julian enters the hive of scum and villainy.*
Digifanatic: *reads the sign and quietly groans.*
Metal Man (GM): Al is there. He stares at the Questers like they are a bunch of shoplifters.
Al: "Oh, you."
Deloth casually walks in.
Metal Man (GM): He leans on the counter.
Al: "Pay with rings. And don't try to turn me in again. You're lucky your little stunt made me more important. Otherwise I'd have you offed."
Julian: "Hey buddy, you got any Chaos Drives?"
Al: "Oh yes. GUN sold out to me long ago. Apparently the profits I get are better."
Julian: "Whoa whoa whoa, what's with the hostility? We're jus' tryin' to by somethin' here."
Al: "Of course, they're rated by specification. That's where the money is. One of your fine friends here was interested in gettin' me arrested for a little job offer."
Julian: "Great." *Checks the refund policy.*
Metal Man (GM): Refund policy: '1. Do not talk about refund policy.' '2. There is no refund policy in refund policy.'
Deloth: "So, what've you got for Chaos Drives? Say, around 30 rings or so?"
Al: "Whoa! Thirty... thirty rings?"
Metal Man (GM): His face changes. He seems... interested.
Julian: "...'Zat bad?"
Al: "That's enough to power an entire... ... ...of course! Are you... er... strong?"
Julian: "Check out these guns." *Flex!* "'Zis thing BIG?"
Al: "...Hand me the rings. I shall give you the object you seek. But only because you are so very, very rich. Technically these don't exist..." He smirks. "But I have them anyway."
Julian: *nudges Deloth.*
Deloth: "Fair deal, I suppose." *slides the 30 rings onto the counter.*
Al: "Okay... ...yes, these are real."
Metal Man (GM): He takes them off, and returns, lifting with all his might, a giant cylinder which glows enough to light up the entire room.
Julian: "...Think that'll do."
Al: "We call this the Mother Lode. Powerful enough to destroy everyday pests like attack helicopters, ballistic missiles, and army regiments. There's only three of them in existence, and I've been waiting for a chance like this... So... ...I think I'll forget about having you killed. Enjoy!"
Metal Man (GM): He walks off, leaving the giant thing for the Questers to take.
Deloth hefts one side onto his shoulder. "Julian, you grab the other side. We'll log carry this thing back."
Julian: *Julian attempts to eyeball how much this thing weighs...*
Metal Man (GM): It'd take two of the Questers to drag it... or... ...It's round. Cylindrical.
Julian: "...We're gonna need more than two people for this."
Digifanatic: *He can help possibly lift it once they take it outside.*
Metal Man (GM): It can barely squeeze through if carried.
Julian: *And so Deloth crumpled to the ground.* "...Right." *Julian goes to get Digi and whoever else joined him.* "We got some heavy liftin' to do!"
Metal Man (GM): Lifting it alone would break Digi's arms pretty badly.
Digifanatic: *walks in.* "Wow... Very nice." *aside to Julian.* "Mind if I get the others?"
Julian: "Man, go ahead. We're gonna need more-" *flicks Digi in his minuscule bicep.* "-Than what you got to offer."
Digifanatic: "Heh, yeah, I know... I need to get back to that sometime. Julian, I'll go get Dragoshi and maybe Aribar while I'm at it. Hang tight."
Digifanatic heads off back to the base to meet up the other two.
Metal Man (GM): Digi slowly finds his way through the forest again. He gets back to the other two.
Aribar: "... Why are you alone? Did the others get caught and thrown in jail?"
Digifanatic: "No."
Dragoshi: "Then what is it?"
Digifanatic: "We got ourselves the Chaos Drive... but it's huge. Julian and I need help lugging it back..." *mumbling.* "And Deloth's wandering again, I think..."
Dragoshi: "Ah. Fair enough."
Aribar: "I think the furry fluffiness of his new form drove him insane..."
Digifanatic: "Now, I definitely want Dragoshi to come cause he's got better arms. Aribar, you can do one of two things."
Aribar: "Yeah. Dragoshi has a whole two arms."
Digifanatic: "One, hold possession of the weapons chest and wait for us to come back... That, too. Or two, hide the weapons chest so that no oddball wanderer or thug comes across it and steals our stuff. And come along with Drago and I."
Aribar turns to the robot.* "Would you watch over our possessions while we get the drive? And by watch I mean protect them if anyone else came to try and steal them?"
Eggbot: "Yes."
Metal Man (GM): It stands there.
Aribar turns to the others.* "That solved that problem. Now, as for getting this Chaos Drive back here... How big is it? Roughly what sort of shape is it?"
Digifanatic: "It's a long, wide, cylindrical object... and obviously very bulky."
Aribar looks at the trees outside of the base...* "We could try and cut a few trees down and use them as rollers."
Digifanatic: "That's definitely possible."
Dragoshi: "Mhm."
Digifanatic: "Let's just hope Central City isn't full of tree huggers and environmentalists."
Aribar: "Another possibility..."
Digifanatic: "Should I wait or was that a response to my remark?"
Aribar stands away from the others and holds out his hand.* "Freeze!" *The elf tries to use his Freeze move to make a cylinder that they could roll the bigger cylinder of doom on.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar makes... a cylinder of ice. It slowly begins melting.
Aribar: "Unless someone complains about wasting water, I could just make numerous ice cylinders... And be dead tired by the time we get back here. That also alleviates the need to cut down trees and carry them back to town."
Digifanatic: "Heh."
Aribar: "Another possibility! We could scrounge around this base, if we get permission, and try and find stuff to sell so that we can pay to have it transported part of the way here."
Digifanatic: "No, that'll take way too long."
Dragoshi: "Yeaaa..."
Digifanatic: "And if we keep thinking of oddball ideas, I think Julian's gonna get annoyed."
Aribar: "Okay. Well, we have options now. You two can decide what to do... Ooh. Didn't consider that. I say we make haste for Central City! ... And don't tell him that I was trying to think of ideas."
Metal Man (GM): Julian is currently gathering dust, watching Al slowly go about his daily business. The sun slowly moves through the sky as this goes on.
Digifanatic: "We can talk on the way there, and if we don't agree on an alternate option, we can just lift the thing as the four of us."
Julian: *Meanwhile, thousands of miles away.* .oO(They better get back here soon... OR ELSE!) *dun dun dun.*
Digifanatic: "Follow me..." *heads back to CC and Jules.*
Aribar: *Let us ride... TO CAMELOT!*
Dragoshi: *Yeah. what they said.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers make their way to Al's shop. Al is busy snickering at how they bought something too large to easily carry as he does his work.
Julian: "'Bout time. What took y'all so long?"
Aribar avoids Al's gaze as they enter..* "'allo, Julian... We were just trying to think of ways to get it out of here easier."
Digifanatic: "I kept telling them all we have to do is have you and Dragoshi lift the ends while Ari and I take the middle... So let's do it."
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Julian: "Whatever." *Julian gets to the front of the blasted thing.*
Digifanatic: *waits in the middle while the others take their positions.*
Dragoshi: *Also goes to the front.*
Julian: "Other end, Drago."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers line up to carry the cylindrical object. Doing so prevents it from rolling away.
Aribar (belatedly) goes to the middle.*
Dragoshi: *Heads to the other end, then.*
Julian: *As soon as everyone gets in position.* "A'ight, on three... one... two... THREE!" *LIFT.*
Aribar: *Feebly lift.*
Dragoshi: *Ker-lift!*
Digifanatic: *another feeble lift.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers are now holding it.
Aribar: "Gah... Can we let it down yet?"
Digifanatic: *Goes to take it to the base.* *I believe so...*
Dragoshi: *Also moving to the base.*
Julian: *To the base.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers begin to walk on the path... It's a very bumpy ride... Julian is facing the cylinder.
Aribar is in the middle... Doesn't have a choice.*
Dragoshi: *Yep...*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers go down the path... encountering where the gap was... ...Julian can't see the gap... He steps backwards over the gap. Lucky, it's so dang heavy it's not going down with him...
Julian: *Oh shi-*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is dangling on the edge.
Aribar: "Julian! Gah... Umm... Put it down slowly, the get him!"
Julian: "AUGH! BACK UP, BACK UP!"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, just don't let this thing roll off the edge..." *backs up...*
Dragoshi: *Backs up, backs up!*
Metal Man (GM): The other Questers slowly drag him Julian... ...and crush Dragoshi into a tree.
Dragoshi: *Owww...*
Aribar: "We could go and get the robot to help us now..."
Julian: *Phew...* "Why didn't anyone TELL me I was backin' up into a pit?"
Aribar: "Watch out, pit. Er... We just yelled too late."
Digifanatic: "Aribar... No." *slightly tense.* "Let's just bring this thing back..."
Julian: "Man, whatever. Let's jus' deliver this thing."
Dragoshi: "Quite." .oO(And hopefully without slamming any of us against trees anymore.)
Digifanatic: *continues bringing up the middle, this time watching out for pits and the like on the way back to all their base.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers drag it further... and begin going down the hill... a lot of weight is being placed on Julian.
Dragoshi: *Also continues on along...*
Metal Man (GM): It soon starts to become a bit too much for Julian, as he's on the bottom end...
Digifanatic: "Everyone, set it down gently. We can roll it to the base."
Julian: *NNNNNNGH... I swear if you guys let this thing crush me.*
Aribar calls out, "Robot! If you can hear us, get out here... Need some help!"
Metal Man (GM): The robot slowly walks towards the Questers...
Aribar: "Hurry... We're about to drop this!"
Digifanatic: "Don't drop it, just set it down!"
Metal Man (GM): The robot can't run very fast... or do very much... it's slowly coming towards the group...
Aribar tries to do what Digi says..
Digifanatic: "Everyone down on three... 1...2... 3..." *slowly bends down as he attempts to casually let it off his shoulders and onto the ground.*
Julian: *Tries not to DIE.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian is steamrolled. It then rolls down the smooth hill... Julian is nearly dead! The robot picks up the cylinder.
Eggbot: "This will do."
Metal Man (GM): It nonchalantly walks off into the base, Julian having been thoroughly crushed.
Aribar takes... numerous steps away from Julian.*
Digifanatic: *same here.*
Julian: *fucking DEAD.*
Dragoshi: *Just follows the robot while stayin' away from Julian.* >_>;;
Metal Man (GM): Next time, on SSQ!
Julian: *Raised middle-finger as he lies in a Julian-shaped depression in the ground.*
Metal Man (GM): Will Julian pummel Digi to pieces? Will the cylinder work? Will the Thugs do absolutely nothing? Who knows?
