Date: January 9th & 11th, 2009.
Trivia: The Caldon Bell stuff is about the ONLY major thing in SSQ^2 which gets changed/retconned; Metal Man's true backstory was not finished at the time it was GMed here.
Metal Man (GM): The group saved Red from entrapment in Kanto, and did not actually earn much money. Indeed, they earned none. Red is now with them and has just finished resting. Robotnik is looking for more jobs... The group is now aboard the Egg Carrier. Red has rested... oddly, he looks far less pixellated.
Deloth: "SO glad we're out of Kanto..."
Metal Man (GM): He walks up to the group, looking around.
Red: "Hm..."
Metal Man (GM): He flips out his Pokedex.
Red: "I just remembered something... weird... The reason why... my world is messed up... may be why you are also here."
Digifanatic: "Please tell."
Red: "But I am unsure if you want to know..." He rubs his forehead. "It... is not a good thing."
Keikyoku: *Tries to seperate the big ball of scrap into individual pieces.*
Digifanatic: "Does it involve a possible future apocalypse?"
Red: "There is a reason I went psychotic... this was it. I just never got the chance to think..."
Digifanatic: "If so, we've helped avert those several times before..."
Metal Man (GM): He shakes his head, while Keikyoku separates the scrap into its component parts cleanly. Red shakes his head slowly.
Red: "The apocalypse has already occurred."
Digifanatic: "Already occurred? What was that? And when, too?"
Red: "My world... ceased to exist at one point... but instead of dying, I wound up here. As did others. Did you also experience a world-ending situation? ...I had become a Pokemaster, and was at the top of my game. Then some strange man appeared and muttered something, and the world... fell apart."
Keikyoku: *tries to make kuni out of them.*
Red: *He covers his face.* "It was... horrible."
Digifanatic: "Well, we've had Voids and psychos and other things try to take over our previous world."
Deloth: "Strange man? What'd he look like?"
Red: "I... don't remember."
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku doesn't make anything; but he doesn't break anything either.
Deloth: "C'mon, Red, this might be important..."
Red: "...He nearly blinded me, and told me I was smarter than everyone else. I wasn't supposed to notice him. He was doing it for some purpose... I hit him with a powerful attack and some thing he did failed to hit me."
Digifanatic: "...Huh?"
Metal Man (GM): He shakes at remembering it.
Digifanatic: "You weren't supposed to notice him..."
Red: "I think that is why I am not a mindless drone like the others... in my world."
Digifanatic: "Did he do some sort of odd morphing or whatnot?"
Red: "No. He was a human form, a man... I don't know who or what, he made no sense, and he blinded me with light so that I could not discern his form."
Keikyoku: *Tries again.*
Digifanatic: "Rather strange. Rather strange..."
Dr. Robotnik: *adjusts glasses.* "Hm. Well... that explains the mis-matched nature of our world today."
Deloth thinks... someone who was able to block Red, wreck his world, and do all that...
Dr. Robotnik: "I saw no man, but I can't say things were peaceful either... indeed. I was trapped in space and GUN had destroyed my last thing..."
Deloth: "...Wasn't Kuja with us when we entered this world?"
Metal Man (GM): No answer from the Questers who joined after SSQ 1; they don't even know who he is.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, and so was our boss."
Red: "...Show me what you know of this world's appearance."
Dr. Robotnik: "Sure."
Metal Man (GM): Red takes a look.
Keikyoku: *Continues trying to make weapons from scrap with his new tools.*
Red: "...Several worlds... something is up."
Metal Man (GM): He looks at the Questers with grim resolve.
Dragoshi: *Leans against the wall, watching this all go on.* .oO(What is it now...?)
Digifanatic: "Well, Red, according to our pilot, this planet used to be just his continent and everyone else invaded it."
Red: "There is more to things than you might perceive. I can't understand it, but this world is artificial. Someone or something put it together... and it explains the chaos. But what is the purpose?"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth's possession meter goes off. He chimes in?
Deloth: "I know this too. That is why I control this body."
Dragoshi: *Glances at Deloth.*
Digifanatic: "...huh?" .oO(And here we go.)
Deloth: "Find the man who is behind this world and I shall leave your friend's body."
Metal Man (GM): He then reverts to normal.
Digifanatic: "That'd probably be our strange guy Red Text."
Dragoshi: "Somehow... I doubt that." :/
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku makes three short-lived projectiles.
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't necessarily say that. Let's see... he knows about Mobius, the Maverick Continent, and James Bond."
Keikyoku: *Walks over to Red.* "Here... now you have some weapons..."
Digifanatic: "Plus, we're not even halfway through his tasks."
Red: "?" He takes them. "I will keep them handy, then."
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't be surprised if our other five tests involve continents we don't even know exist on this planet to date."
Red: "Your map IS obviously incomplete... but I don't know where to look."
Keikyoku: *happily sits down somewhere.*
Digifanatic: "Or, even weirder, suddenly are projected onto this planet for the purpose of us going there to please the man. I know my idea's a bit strange, but it's just something I'm throwing around."
Deloth blinks a bit. "Aw, son of a bitch. Did he take over again?"
Digifanatic: "Just for a short while... but it's not like he wanted you to stab us or anything. All he said was to the effect of 'find who's responsible for the merging of these continents and he'll free himself for you.'"
Deloth: "...Yeah, right."
Digifanatic: "'Find the man who is behind this world and I shall leave your friend's body.' That's it, man."
Deloth: "I meant his deal."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, if you don't mind, I will land at my base for a moment."
Digifanatic: "No problem."
Metal Man (GM): The ship pulls in at his base.
Dr. Robotnik: "Ah... yes..."
Metal Man (GM): *Clunk.* It lands in a custom-made landing pad.
Dr. Robotnik: "Yes... I will have a job for you, Questers. It appears my genius communication dish has scanned the planet... and a small satellite I snuck into orbit is scanning as I speak. Intense radiation of an unknown type is jamming my scans, but... I see another continent."
Deloth: "Well, if we have no other leads..."
Digifanatic: *to the other Questers.* "I think we've also got a job on the Mav Continent still to do, but I don't think we've got the personnel to make it a success... keep it in mind, though." *to Robotnik.* "Continue."
Dr. Robotnik: "I see a small continent in the far Southeast. It is..." He scratches his chin. "...Well, you'll have to find out. I can't get anything more than an outline. Also, I have built a small ship for you to use. I am afraid that while our expeditions have proven... valuable... I cannot be distracted from my work."
Digifanatic: "Understood."
Dr. Robotnik: "The ship will automatically maintain itself and in return will give me readouts on the technology and information you encounter. If you should desire a ship which does not belong to me, I can build you your own for 1000 coins... custom. Naturally you cannot afford my Genius designs for free at this moment, but I will look for possibilities."
Digifanatic: "Heh... well, I think we'll be able to suffice with what you have built."
Dr. Robotnik: *Opens a door, revealing a 12-person two-winged airship.*
Dragoshi: .oO(Well, I'll have to keep that in mind, then.)
Dr. Robotnik: "It has twin laser turrets, and a belly-mounted missile launcher with capacity of 30 missiles. And standard force fields. It is also much faster than the Egg Carrier. ...It has medical facilities should you become incredibly injured."
Digifanatic: "Oh, nice."
Dr. Robotnik: "So, I will recap your choices for this... last time we are together like this."
Keikyoku: "I call gunner!!!!!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): He flips through a list.
Digifanatic: .oO(Kei's been having way too much sugar.)
Dr. Robotnik: "...Power Plant issues on Continia, the new continent in the Southeast... the Maverick Lab of epic proportions..."
Digifanatic: "Yeeeeeah, we can't tackle the lab at this point."
Dr. Robotnik: "...And another one involving Jack, which says 'Assistance Needed', which involves most likely..." *He sighs.* "James Bond."
Digifanatic: "And Jack."
Keikyoku: "Jack doesn't like me..."
Dragoshi: "...Yeah, we're prolly' gonna put that one on the back-burner." >_>
Digifanatic: "Besides, Bond usually does well as just him and his organization."
Keikyoku: *Quickly jumps in the gunner seat.*
Metal Man (GM): The guns are simply two joysticks with 'fire' buttons on them. One on the left, one on the right.
Digifanatic: *pilot's seat.* "Southeast, then?"
Metal Man (GM): It has a very simple flight stick on it. Eggman wasn't going to invest in the usual Capital Ship controls for this.
Dragoshi: *Shotgun!*
Keikyoku: *looks for what controls the missiles.*
Metal Man (GM): The person flying the ship controls them using a lock-on cursor and a 'fire' button. 30/30 missiles present.
Keikyoku: "GO!"
Digifanatic: *Presumes Deloth and any latecomers hop on board.* *takes a look to see if it's clear for takeoff and does so when it's clear.*
Metal Man (GM): It is clear for takeoff. It is very simple to fly...
Digifanatic: *Let's go.*
Deloth grabs a seat and sets up the AC to blow right on his face.
Metal Man (GM): The ship hovers vertically, then takes off.
Digifanatic: *turns it right.*
Keikyoku: *Aims at seagulls and fires!*
Metal Man (GM): Digi turns it and begin moving... it sports a top speed of mach 1. Incredible. Keikyoku bloodies the skies as large bolts of plasma energy incinerate seagulls. There are no more seagulls. The ship is currently going at cruising speed. It's getting closer quite fast.
Dragoshi: "...Please save that for actual threats, Kei." >_>
Metal Man (GM): Red is aboard.
Keikyoku: "WEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!"
Digifanatic: .oO(How does this guy get his energy?!)
Metal Man (GM): The ship picks up a radio beacon.
Digifanatic: *picks up.*
???: "This is an automated distress beacon."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers receive staticy pictures of what looks like some weird ships they've never seen before.
???: "At 1100 hours about a month ago we landed on this new planet which had appeared in this previously unseen galaxy."
Digifanatic: "Okay..." *takes a look at the ships.*
???: "Three days later something else landed."
Digifanatic: *waits for it, cause it's automated and all.*
Dragoshi: *Also waits.*
???: "The something else attacked us. Our ship has been all but destroyed. We are hiding. Our remote transmitter is broken. The ship is most likely infested by now. If you can activate the remote receiver, you will obtain reinforcements."
Metal Man (GM): It shows these ships. They're silvery and super-high tech in appearance. They're suddenly attacked by... more of those robots. It appears that the meteorite hit this area too.
Digifanatic: *Looks for familiar things in a vaguely, poorly described manner.*
Metal Man (GM): The robots are the same ones which plagued the Maverick area.
Dragoshi: "...It's those guys again."
Deloth sighs. "Not those robots again..."
Digifanatic: "Death lasers..."
Keikyoku: "Death lazors? I can do that!"
Metal Man (GM): It repeats, and then suddenly an explosion is heard. Then another message appears on the comms.
Keikyoku: *Grabs the laser controls.*
Dragoshi: *Chuckles lightly.*
Deloth: "Digi, pull up that second message."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers see the island now. There's a crashed ship, and a large mountain-like construction there as well.
Digifanatic: *does so.*
Metal Man (GM): It is... the robots? A Vol Opt 3 model appears onscreen!
Digifanatic: "Oh, not another one!"
Dragoshi: "...Oh, for crying out loud..."
Vol Opt 3: "We know it is you. We have destroyed the offending transmitter. We will now destroy you."
Deloth: "...oh, for the love of crap."
Keikyoku: "Kill it with the lazors!!!"
Digifanatic tries to fire off a missile at the VO3.
Metal Man (GM): The ship cannot find the target. It is out of range. The Questers hear a weird noise, and what was suddenly some hills fly off the ground, coated in dirt.
Keikyoku: *Aims for that giant construction thing.*
Metal Man (GM): Two ships, relatively the same size as the Questers'. They fly at the Quester ship in formation.
Keikyoku: *Fires at the ships.*
Dragoshi: "Hoo boy."
Keikyoku: "DIE!!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Ship to Ship combat time. A notice appears on the missile controls before Digi. 'Please be careful with these--refills will be infrequent.' The enemy ships float on their own and glow strangely, and have many, many articulate lines on their hulls.
Digifanatic: *sighs and fires one of the right-side missiles at ship #1.* *BA-BOOM!*
Metal Man (GM): *BOOOOM* It veers to the left... the missile hits its shield and yet, it continues coming.
Digifanatic: *Okay then.*
Computer: "Moderate Damage dealt to Ship Target 1."
Dragoshi: *Aims his turret at ship #1, then fires. A-yep.*
Metal Man (GM): It veers out of the way. Recoil on the Questers' own gun makes it impossible to catch it... this time.
Vol Opt 3: "Victory is impossible."
Metal Man (GM): Ship 1 opens up, showing a high-tech weapons system. Lightning, explosions, and bolts of ice fly at the Quester ship. The Questers ship veers out of the way.
Digifanatic: *DOES A BARREL ROLL!*
Metal Man (GM): Ship 2 fires a powerful laser beam at the Quester ship. *BLAMMMM* The Quester ship rocks.
Computer: "Shields at 60%."
Keikyoku: *Aims for the lasers and FIRES!* "WEEEEE!"
Metal Man (GM): It dodges the turret easily. The enemy ships are now in combat range.
Vol Opt 3: "The will of the Master will eclipse this planet in time."
Digifanatic: *One more missile, #1.*
Metal Man (GM): It flies clear out of the way.
Dragoshi: *Once again attempts to shoot ship #1 up with his turret.*
Metal Man (GM): Miss.
Vol Opt 3: "Your suffering... pleases us."
Metal Man (GM): Lightning, ice, and fire flies at the Quester ship like no tomorrow.
Keikyoku: "I hope we don't crash in water..."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAMMM.*
Computer: "Shields at 20%."
Deloth: "I hope we don't crash."
Metal Man (GM): The other ship fires more lasers at the Quester ship. *BLAM* The shields are knocked offline. An emergency lever pops up. It says... 'Ramming speed.'
Digifanatic: "That might be our last resort."
Keikyoku: *Aims at the turrets again.* "YARG!!!"
Digifanatic: "Well, he doesn't waste his trigger happiness!"
Dragoshi: "Yep."
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku racks up several hits on them. The shield blinks but their shield is still up.
Computer: "Enemy's shield has taken some severe damage."
Digifanatic decides to cut a wide turn away from the ships before coming in towards Ship #1 at an angle. Once he sees he's at a good angle of attack, he pulls the ramming speed lever in an attempt to T-bone the first ship.
Metal Man (GM): *SMASH* The Quester ship hits it and bounces off its shield, which deals some hull damage and shakes the entire ship really hard. The shields on #1 are wobbling but still up.
Keikyoku: "WOOOHOOO!"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, that wasn't a bad alternative to the missiles."
Dragoshi: *He casts Ward on his ship.* :B
Metal Man (GM): Enemy Ship 1 fires. The ward forces it to have to overpower it by hitting more than before... The ward is broken and the ship takes some more hull damage. Ship 2 also fires at the Quester ship.
Keikyoku: *Follows suit by casting ward as well.* "WEEEE!"
Metal Man (GM): Ship 1 is in bad shape. Ship 2 is unharmed.
Digifanatic: *Once again turns the ship away to ram Ship #1 trying to broadside it again.*
Vol Opt 3: "We have stacked the dice... you cannot win."
Metal Man (GM): Digi hits it in a minor but strong enough way to knock out its shield. The Quester ship also takes more damage.
Computer: "Further integrity damage may cause loss of flight capabilities."
Dragoshi: *Sighs, and once again attempts to shoot ship #1 up.*
Metal Man (GM): *Bash.* A minor hit, but Dragoshi damages it a good deal. It has a relatively puny hull. Ship 1 fires more magic at the Questers. The ward takes the hit, then breaks. No damage. Ship 2 fires its more mundane laser at the Questers.
Digifanatic: *SHOOP DA DODGE.*
Metal Man (GM): The Quester ship dodges around it, barely.
Keikyoku: *Casts ward and then two electric eles at the turret of ship 1.*
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku deals... minor damage. It's not of the ship caliber. A good hit could take out Ship 1.
Digifanatic decides to avoid more hull damage if possible and goes for another missile.
Metal Man (GM): Their luck is impeccable as they dodge the missile yet again.
Vol Opt 3: "You cannot win."
Dragoshi: *Rolls eyes, then proceeds to try and shoot ship #1 to shit.* :/
Metal Man (GM): It dodges. Two ships against one... never was very good odds. Of course, the Quester ship is faster... but they're working in tandem. The magic attack of Ship 1 never goes off. Ship 2's laser does go off, and threatens the Questers.
Digifanatic: *Holy crap it worked. Why? Cause they're Questers and the story would be pretty dull if they lost.*
Editor's Note: To the contrary, the story would be pretty dull if the Questers never lost.
Keikyoku: *Aims at ship one...* "FIRE!!!"
Metal Man (GM): Hit. The ship is sparking but isn't down yet.
Digifanatic: *Hmm... that might be a bit difficult a process. Missile to Ship 2 for a change.*
Metal Man (GM): It dodges yet again.
Dragoshi: *Once again tries to shoot ship #1 with the turrets. Yaaaaaay.*
Metal Man (GM): Ship 1 tries to shoot the Quester ship down before it's too late. *BLAM* The Quester ship is now on fire... and the second ship is undamaged. Ship 2 fires at the Questers again.
Computer: "Hull failure is imminent if hits continue to occur."
Keikyoku: *Takes a more defensive approach and casts ward^3.*
Digifanatic fires one more missile at Ship 1; he'd rather take it down ASAP and ramming speed might weaken or destroy Kei's Ward.
Dragoshi: *Continues attempting to shoot down ship 1 with his turret.*
Metal Man (GM): The ship dodges yet again. The two ships have been dodging quite a bit... Ship 1 fires at the ultra-ward. The ward deflects it and takes some damage, but the ship is OK. Ship 2 does not use magic attacks. Uh-oh.
Deloth sighs and gets into the crash position.
Metal Man (GM): *ZAP.* The ship starts wobbling. One or two more hits and the Quester ship is done for! Perhaps this continent is best taken by a different route...
Digifanatic: "I think we'e going to have to retreat."
Dragoshi: "Definitely."
Keikyoku: *Thrice wards!*
Digifanatic: "I'm sorry, guys. I know it's not all my fault, but still..."
Deloth: "Digi, you didn't do ANYTHING wrong. Don't apologize. But yeah, I think we're gonna have to swing this ship around."
Metal Man (GM): Ship 1 hasn't been hit by another good hit.
Digifanatic: "If anyone objects--sorry, I'm piloting." *turns it away from the continent and heads back to Robotnik's base.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi turns the ship around. The other ships then move to land on the island just as they were before. A while later... the Questers have returned to Robotnik's base; Robotnik is fixing the ship and staring at it, the Questers would be outside it. Inspection would show hordes of gashes on the ship.
Dr. Robotnik: "Hmmm... I think I will take those ships out with the Egg Carrier... this ship can't take them both at once."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, it was hard even taking down one of them. And we..." *a bit quieter.* "Couldn't quite do that, Doctor."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, it isn't all bad news. My robot crews found something on this island."
Digifanatic: *normal volume.* "Oh."
Dr. Robotnik: "Strange, underwater facilities. And a passageway to them. Since you're not going anywhere for the moment, could you take a look at them for me?"
Aribar: "I apologize for my absence during your last mission; I decided to finally take the opportunity to rest up."
Dragoshi: "Sounds like a good idea..."
Digifanatic: "Well, if we don't have to shoot down ships, I have no complaints."
Dr. Robotnik: "There are no underwater ships. And my GENIUS scanners indicate minimal danger down there. ...Well... the structures ARE very old, so I would be careful."
Digifanatic: .oO(Uh oh... only the veterans will be able to do this one!)
Dr. Robotnik: "So..." He opens a panel in the floor. "Just climb straight down and you'll reach it. Look for anything interesting. There may be some things of value down there... which you could make money off of."
Digifanatic: "Okay, let's go." *starts climbing down.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi begins climbing down the metal ladder. It's a little bit slimy.
Dragoshi: *Climbs on down.*
Metal Man (GM): *Clonk clonk clonk clonk.* is the sound of the Questers' footsteps as they go down.
Aribar follows the others and hopes that he won't have to swim.*
Metal Man (GM): They reach a cool area, lit up by fluorescent lights. A door is there... it hasn't been opened in ages.
Digifanatic: *opens.*
Metal Man (GM): It's a high-tech rectangular door. It has a very simple opening mechanism... but one which is strange to them, as they find no doorknobs. It is a hand-shaped square in the center of the door.
Digifanatic: *places his hand there.*
Metal Man (GM): *Scan.*
Dragoshi: *Just watches as Digi does so. Whee.*
Computer: "Unknown person detected. This is a research station. Limited to Class IV personnel."
Digifanatic: "Odd..."
Aribar: "Didn't Robotnik anticipate security measures like these? What are we supposed to do about this?"
Digifanatic: "Hang on." *sees if he can hack the ID system.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi spends a moment... But there is no interface to hack. However, he quickly deduces that the door is sentient.
Digifanatic: "Nope, can't hack into it, but..."
Panzer jumps down and into the corridor. She blinks. "WTF are you all doing?"
Computer: "...Looking for something?"
Aribar shrugs.* "Perhaps we could simply k--Gah! Panzer and talking door!"
Computer: "Please keep your hand on the door panel if you wish to enter. Your mind suggests... something."
Panzer: "Talking door?"
Digifanatic: "Hi, Panz." *turns back to the computer voice.* "Okay." *puts his hand back on the panel.*
Dragoshi: *Just chuckles lightly as Ari freaks out.*
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh, it could be worse, Aribar.)
Aribar: "Apparently. Door, we want inside, please."
Metal Man (GM): The door feels strangely warm to Digi. Then, several blinding flashes of light that look like nuclear bomb explosions can be seen in Digi's mind. A silhouette of a person is seen near them... then suddenly his memories of Metal Man are accessed, one after the other.
Digifanatic: *!*
Computer: "...Subject Subject sub subbjjjjjjjjj."
Digifanatic: .oO(Is he in here?)
Dragoshi: "..."
Digifanatic: "Information overload?"
Panzer blinks. "Computer? Is that a computer?"
Computer: "Subject Cccccccc... B... detected as supervisor of unknown person."
Digifanatic: "Okay, I just had a few strange mind flashes..."
Computer: "Assigning Class IV status to group led by CCCcccccc B... Clearance detected, door opening." *Shoomp.*
Metal Man (GM): The door opens, revealing a fresh wave of the smell of ocean water, and a metal walkway with glass windows all around it.
Digifanatic: "What felt like odd flashes of light, an odd figure of a person... and all of a sudden, the computer fed me my memories of Metal Man." *walks in.* "Yes, it was a bit odd."
Panzer shrugs. "Apparently the door likes Digi."
Digifanatic: "Something..."
Metal Man (GM): Looking inside, the Questers see what was once a lab. It is now a neatly emptied room, with another sealed door.
Aribar: "I already dislike this place and we have only just entered." *The mage warily follows the others.*
Dragoshi: *Walks on in.*
Computer: "Sub subjjj sub... ject... C... was of importt... ance... to us. Wh... whhhhhat do you look for?"
Digifanatic: "I'm not sure; we were sent down here by Dr. Ivo Robotnik, also known as 'Eggman.'"
Computer: "He came and was informed to find... Subbjjjjj C. He informed us of you... you came..."
Digifanatic: "Who is or was Subject C?"
Computer: "Internal databank misfunction. Please reset machine datacube 5."
Digifanatic: "Never mind."
Metal Man (GM): The door ahead seems to be the way further in... to another, larger room.
Digifanatic: *goes in.*
Metal Man (GM): It opens slowly and stops half-way. Enough for the Questers to reach a hallway which is... half-flooded.
Panzer wanders around looking at stuff.
Aribar: "Computer, do you know anything about a person called Metal Man?"
Computer: "Suibjjjj... .Ccccc... Important... im,... important..." *SPARK.*
Dragoshi: *Bah-link.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer opens a cabinet, and a machine pushes out a mysterious looking tool. It appears to be a computer with a power-plug like socket. It has a display on its screen.
Panzer takes the tool. "Whats this thing?"
Tool Display: 'TAKE TO FLOODED HALLWAY'
Digifanatic: "Well, this is a flooded hallway."
Panzer takes it to the flooded hallway?
Metal Man (GM): Panzer walks over to the water. A metal socket in the wall would light up. It's some sort of control mechanism.
Panzer plugs the tool in.
Metal Man (GM): *Click.* 'DRAINING HALLWAY' The water drains out. The lights flicker and some machines can be heard turning on.
Panzer gloats.
Dragoshi: "...That was... convenient."
Computer: "W... w... wa-water drained..."
Panzer: "Machines are superior."
Metal Man (GM): The display then changes again. 'KEEP ON HAND.'
Aribar: "Huh. Thanks, Panzer." *The half-elf ducks under the door and enters the hallway. He wonders if they should be turning all of this stuff back on.*
Panzer takes it out and with her. Continues wandering.
Dragoshi: *Just follows behind Ari. A-yep.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk on down and into a larger room.
Digifanatic: *moves onward.*
Metal Man (GM): The door out is blocked by a massive pile of debris. The room itself is also rather dark. In the dark, a plug glows.
Panzer plugs the thingy into the glowy-majjiger.
Digifanatic: *walks over the plug--doesn't touch it.*
Aribar stands at the entrance to the room.
Panzer: "Computer? Talk to me?"
Metal Man (GM): Panzer plugs it in. The room lights up, and another cabinet opens, dropping several more of these tool things onto the floor.
Dragoshi: *Takes one.* >_>
Metal Man (GM): Enough for everyone, they have screens which light up and say 'MULTITOOL.'
Digifanatic: *takes one.*
Panzer picks up another. "In case I loose this one?"
Computer: "Ba-ba-base is heavy... da... damaged... please... repair..."
Panzer starts repair... Stuff.
Metal Man (GM): The multitools beep and show their functions. They have touchscreens, too. 1. Power 2. Use Function 3. Depower 4. Download data.
Panzer: "I'm not into silver. Does this thing come in black?"
Metal Man (GM): The debris is opposite a large machine. The machine is some sort of shredding device.
Panzer tries to turn the machine on and tries to chuck debris into it. ^.^
Aribar takes one of the tools and looks it over. He heads over to the debris and then looks to the machine. "That looks like a good idea, Panzer."
Metal Man (GM): It has a plug on it like the other places, but isn't glowing. The machine turns on. The debris is easily thrown into it, and obliterated.
Digifanatic: *also helps shred debris.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers reveal the door, which... has no power. It has a plug like this on it too, though.
Dragoshi: *Plug it in, plug it in!*
Panzer: >>; "Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiight."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi plugs it into the door.
Dragoshi: "Lessee..." *He tries to use it to power up the door or something like that.*
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi powers up the door.
Computer: "Door firmware missing. Cannot open."
Aribar tries to use the 'download data' feature of his tool and attempts to look for the firmware.*
Metal Man (GM): The tool says 'Please plug into a potential download source.'
Panzer plugs herself into the plug thing near the door. "Suuuuuuuuup?"
Computer: "Unknown firmware detected. Downloading..."
Digifanatic: .oO(Panz, you drunk?)
Computer: "Bzzbtkztktbztkzbt."
Metal Man (GM): *BOOM* The door pops off the hinges and falls over.
Panzer blinks. "Well. That works. What did it download?"
Aribar: "... Good job, Panzer!"
Computer: "Error: Maverick Virus is not a usable firmware. Please abstain from destroying doors with it."
Panzer: "Haha. You're using complete sentences now though."
Panzer unplugs and goes.
Digifanatic: *heads in, rolling his eyes a bit at that.*
Metal Man (GM): The path goes into the ocean now; some floating weirdness out here.
Dragoshi: *Keeps walkin' on along... After taking his multi-tool with him, of course.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers meet the largest room yet... it's the computer core.
Panzer walks along, staying on the ground be it above or below water.
Metal Man (GM): Block #5 has been ripped from a large rack and thrown onto the ground. It has been split into two halves.
Digifanatic goes for Block #1 then.
Metal Man (GM): Block #1 is in the rack and powered.
Aribar walks over to the halved block and wonders if it can be repaired.
Metal Man (GM): There are plugs on all the blocks. In fact, there's one on each side...
Dragoshi: *Also walks over to the halved block, wondering how it ended up that way...*
Metal Man (GM): The halved block appears to be in need of re-soldering due to its circuitry-like nature.
Panzer looks for fish to play with. <3
Metal Man (GM): Of course, there's some tools to the left of the computer.
Digifanatic: *plugs the Multitool into one of the Block 1 plugs.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer finds a dead fish or two; they got stuck in here when it was flooded.
Panzer eats them. "Poor fishies."
Metal Man (GM): Digi's meter indicates 'acceptable firmware' and can download it.
Digifanatic: *Download.*
Metal Man (GM): The download completes instantaneously.
Digifanatic: "Huh..." *checks out the Multitool to see if there is any information of importance that either got downloaded into the Block or received from the Block. *
Aribar: "It looks like this broken block is going to need some repair work. It looks sort of like the inside of a computer; you may be able to repair it, Digi."
Digifanatic: "I was going to..."
Panzer plugs herself in somewhere. Gives the computer more of the virus. ^.^ HeurVirus 1.0 baby, yeah!
Digifanatic: "I'm just looking at what's in good shape for now."
Metal Man (GM): Nothing more than a filename is found by Digi.
Computer: "Cannot overwrite pre-existing firmware."
Panzer: "Stupid." *She goes back to standing underwater.* >>;
Digifanatic: *Repairs.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi repairs the block. It is now in one piece.
Digifanatic: *Re-inserts the block.*
Dragoshi: "Okay... Now we just have to put it back in."
Metal Man (GM): *SNAP* *CLICK* It buzzes, then lights up like the others.
Computer: "Systems online... so you are truly the helpers of Subject C. B. Repeat your query. I was broken."
Aribar: "Let us start off with a simple question: Who is Subject C. B.?"
Computer: "Accessing..." Cube 5 shoots a spark. "Data is incomplete, but... Caldon Bell."
Digifanatic: "Name I've never heard of before..."
Computer: "Prominent scientist, weapon maker for the United Americas."
Digifanatic: "United Americas... so first we had James Bond, now this guy..."
Aribar: "Hm. Next question, what do you know of a person named Metal Man?"
Computer: "You mean Caldon Bell."
Digifanatic: "..."
Computer: "He vanished... after a spy attack. Then returned wearing armor."
Digifanatic: .oO(He pulled a Chancé...)
Aribar: "Can you elaborate on those events?"
Digifanatic: "Computer, is the name Illian Macgregor any familiar?"
Computer: "No. Caldon Bell worked for the UA until captured by the TEU. He vanished for a while and returned wearing armor. As a premier weapons manufacturer, he was our top asset in the war against TEU... but that was many eons ago."
Digifanatic: "What is or was the TEU?"
Computer: "The Trans-Europe Union. A constant war was between us and them. They experimented as we did. The person who captured Caldon Bell was one of them... and quite eccentric."
Digifanatic: "Okay, as you might have heard me allude to earlier, are you familiar with the spy James Bond?"
Computer: "No."
Digifanatic: "Okay, never mind."
Aribar: "For curiosity's sake; do you know of a 'Tridus'?"
Computer: "No. If you are curious in Caldon Bell, his last project is located here."
Metal Man (GM): The door to the left opens up.
Digifanatic: *heads there.*
Aribar follows Digi.* "What is it?"
Digifanatic: "Well, he said Bell's last project was there... We might as well see what he was trying to do."
Computer: "After the war had finished, humanity was on a precipice. A strange man was stalking all the humans and killing them. Furthermore, Caldon Bell was becoming weary of the destroyed wasteland that was once Earth. He was building this..."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk in and see a chaotic portal, and significant destruction marks in the room.
Dragoshi: *Walks on along... And sees the portal.*
Metal Man (GM): The portal device is deactivated. It is perfectly round, almost like the one Zio summoned in another world, but different.
Digifanatic wonders if Neo-Earth will be mentioned here...
Computer: "He escaped through this and was never seen again. A large number of... flaws... meant that he did not teleport properly. Pieces were lost. This was due to the strange person... called Vylch... who would not stop attacking him."
Digifanatic: "Well, we know that part of the story..."
Dragoshi: "Yep..."
Aribar: "What is this portal doing here? Shouldn't it be on Earth?"
Digifanatic: "Well, if James Bond could find themselves suddenly warped onto this planet... This room we're in should be no surprise to me." *takes a look at the portal for any writings or whatnot.*
Aribar: "Up until this point, the various worlds we have been to have typically been 'grouped together' onto a continent or two. It seems odd that we're finding bits and pieces of Earth in various places. Computer, do you know the current location of Caldon Bell?"
Flaeyn: "Caldon Bell?"
Digifanatic: "Odd story."
Computer: "He went into the portal and therefore into..."
Flaeyn: "Alright..."
Metal Man (GM): A screen lights up, showing an endless list of locations.
Digifanatic: "We'll explain a bit more later. "
Computer: "His survival is unknown. You obviously saw him, or... a part of him."
Digifanatic: "Computer, are you familiar with something called Neo-Earth?"
Computer: "No, what is a Neo-Earth?"
Digifanatic: "Never mind."
Computer: "There has only been one Earth... and when it was destroyed, facilities relocated to here... for no apparent reason."
Digifanatic: "This man who stalked the humans... who was he? I doubt it was a form of Vylch."
Computer: "Unknown..."
Aribar: "How long ago was this portal used?"
Digifanatic: *to Dragoshi.* "So chances are good that this Metal Man, like about everyone else we've encountered, isn't 'our' Metal Man... Very peculiar, isn't it?"
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Computer: "Over a thousand years ago. There is only one other room in this ruined facility."
Metal Man (GM): The door to the left opens.
Aribar: "What's in there?"
Computer: "You would probably take interest in it."
Digifanatic: *goes there.*
Dragoshi: *Moseys on along.*
Computer: "The remnants of Caldon Bell's other works."
Aribar follows the others into that room.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk in, seeing a bunch of interesting tools. The first thing that catches their eyes is a helmet; it's the same as the Metal Man helmet the one they knew in SSQ 1 had. However this one is marked with UA markings and is definitely a military tool... a standardized model.
Dragoshi: *Bah-link.*
Digifanatic: *notices the differences.* "You know, this Metal Man may wind up looking very similar to the one we know, but that doesn't mean he'll recognize us."
Aribar: "I think Metal just took some liberties when writing in the Book, just like we did... Maybe." *He looks about at the other things in the room.*
Editor's Note: More true than he may have known at the time.
Dragoshi: *Does the same.*
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I had thought of that earlier, Aribar, but I wouldn't understand why he wanted to change identities and all."
Metal Man (GM): There is a large wrench, laying on its side.
Digifanatic: *checks out the wrench.*
Metal Man (GM): It's used for repairing things... and smashing them. It's incredibly heavy.
Deloth: "Hey, guys."
Metal Man (GM): It has been used before... dents on it.
Digifanatic tries to pick it up.
Aribar: "Hello, Deloth. Welcome to Metal's hidden lair."
Flaeyn: "Metal's Hidden Lair..?"
Metal Man (GM): You can pick it up, with both hands. It still drags a little, on the floor.
Dragoshi: *Looks around for other stuff while Digi does that.* :V
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi finds a custom-modified shotgun. Two barrels and a weird connector which makes it impossible to hold without it trying to dig into one's shoulder.
Aribar: "At least it appears to be related to Metal Man."
Flaeyn tries to pick up the shotgun.
Dragoshi: *Looks around for something that could be used with the shotgun, then...*
Metal Man (GM): It is unusuable as a gun for most people, but Flaeyn picks it up. Digi finds a matching shoulder piece of armor.
Flaeyn: "Well at least I have something to whack people with."
Metal Man (GM): It apparently had a sort of auto-loading system.
Digifanatic: *picks it up with both hands and flips it over--maybe there's some writing on the other side.*
Flaeyn puts on the armor if he can. "Well, I'm sure this'll be helpful."
Metal Man (GM): A diagram near it indicates it had the capability to fire both barrels... and they're elephant-shotgun sized. The armor Flaeyn puts on... it's a shoulder piece. Not too helpful, mostly stylistic. It allows him to wield the gun, but he has have no ammunition, and it appears more mundane than Flaeyn's normal weapons.
Dragoshi: "...I think you might need more armor for that." *Goes to search around for more pieces of armor.*
Flaeyn: "Hm... I suppose."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi finds a panel in the wall, that feels sort of weak.
Dragoshi: *Decides not to bother that panel, not really wanting to damage anything...*
Metal Man (GM): Nothing else here.
Aribar leaves that room to check out the portal. He is wondering if they could find Metal if they went through it.*
Digifanatic: *reads the logo he finds in the room.*
Dragoshi: *Decides to take the helmet with him.* "Hey, Digi. Try and look for any other pieces of armor if ya could. I'm going to go check out the portal." *Goes to do that.*
Digifanatic: "Okay."
Flaeyn: "Hold on a second." He takes off the shoulder piece, then tosses it over to Dragoshi.
Metal Man (GM): It has a bell with lightning crossing it on there.
Dragoshi: *Catches it.*
Digifanatic: "Okay, then... guys, want me to keep the wrench?"
Metal Man (GM): The portal device has an incredibly large control panel. However it has a very simple 'POWER' button on it. The little guard for it was broken open.
Flaeyn: "Why not Digi?"
Digifanatic: "Okay then..."
Dragoshi: "...Don't see why not. Though it might be a little difficult to get back up to the ship with it."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Aribar: "Computer, where does this portal lead? And, if it was powered up, would it be operational?"
Digifanatic: "I mean, I usually don't take things like these." *searches around the room he's in a bit more for more armor.*
Computer: "It was incomplete. It leads to... everywhere."
Digifanatic: *shouts to those in the other room.* "When I'm done, I have a question to ask as well."
Computer: "Activating it may make it easier to track where he went."
Metal Man (GM): Digi find some memory chips. They'd plug into his multitool.
Digifanatic: "Hmm..." *plugs as many as he can in.*
Aribar|Blarg: "Is there any danger in activating it?"
Metal Man (GM): It beeps oddly.
Multi Tool: 'Please attach to helmet for testing protocol'
Digifanatic walks out to the other room. "Dragoshi, may I please have the helmet?"
Dragoshi: "...I guess." *Hands it over to Digi.*
Digifanatic: "Thanks." *attaches Metoo--er, Multitool to helmet.*
Metal Man (GM): The helmet turns on and shows a HUD. Digi will have to put it on to see what's inside.
Digifanatic: *puts it on.*
Deloth watches, without much interest. Looks like he's thinking about something else.
Metal Man (GM): The helmet identifies all the controls to Digi. They have user-attached labels.
Digifanatic: "Hmmm..."
Metal Man (GM): It gives him a list of things to do to turn on the portal, if he should desire that.
Digifanatic reads the list. "Now, folks, I don't want anyone using the portal unless I tell you you can do so. I don't want any of us winding up in some place we're unfamiliar with and not knowing how to return here."
Deloth: *distantly.* "Yeah, okay."
Digifanatic: "You okay, Deloth?"
Aribar: "The computer thinks that it might help us locate Metal, though. We should keep this thing in mind if we want to find him."
Deloth: "I dunno. I just feel... weird. I can't place why."
Digifanatic: "You're probably wondering about who's trying to possess you again."
Deloth: "No, it's not that, it's something else. Which is probably a bad sign at the moment..."
Digifanatic: *to Aribar.* "I know it can, but I don't know how to return back here once we go through the portal." *to Deloth.* "Are you interested in telling us?"
Aribar: "If you wish to have it tested out, I could be a good test subject. While I haven't tested my powers at long range, I do possess magic that can teleport me back to the group."
Deloth: "Eh... you know how I kept saying yesterday about how hungry I was?"
Digifanatic: "Yes..."
Dragoshi: "Mhm..."
Deloth: "I don't now. At all. Without even eating anything."
Digifanatic: "That's... past odd."
Aribar: "Maybe your possessed self ate while you slept or something, Del."
Digifanatic does the list of things needed to do to turn on the portal...
Deloth shrugs. "That's the thing. I don't even feel like I even ate anything. I'm just... not hungry anymore. I know it sounds stupid, but it still strikes me as kinda weird."
Digifanatic: "Could it be something has changed inside you since we arrived here? Surely it's not just your outer characteristics than have changed."
Aribar gives a weak chuckle.* "Maybe Questers aren't only immortal, but we don't need to eat as well."
Digifanatic: "You're probably not aware of those changes yet cause you're still so inexperienced with... whatever you are now cause none of us still know."
Metal Man (GM): Digi flips them all on. He then flips the last switch. An immense, prismatic portal appears... it's like a spiky energy ball. The entire room shakes from its presence.
Computer: "Analyzing coordinates..."
Digifanatic: "Hang on." *steps back a bit.*
Computer: "...The portal is set to go through an unknown amount of dimensions. to enter it is to risk constant inter-world transportation."
Deloth: "You, uh, may wanna switch it off now..."
Digifanatic: "Oh..."
Dragoshi: "...yea, that sounds good."
Digifanatic: "Yeah." *Off!* "I was hoping we could at least get some maps or something..."
Aribar: "Computer, from the brief time that the portal was open, were you able to track Me... Caldon Bell's presence?"
Digifanatic: "Hmm, maybe there's a way to restrain the coordinates so it only goes within this planet."
Computer: "Switching off."
Metal Man (GM): *SHOOMP.* It turns off.
Computer: "His suit had a minor amount of tracking mechanisms on it. A faint trace indicates he has gone through most, if not all of the dimensions detectable on the sensors in this room."
Digifanatic: "How many dimensions is that?"
Computer: "A process of living hundreds, maybe thousands of years... across hundreds of thousands of dimensions."
Digifanatic: "...oh."
Deloth: "...Guy was always an overachiever."
Digifanatic: "That he was."
Computer: "It is unknown where he went... the trace indicated an explosions somewhere which cuts off all access."
Digifanatic: "Computer, I have two questions. First: is it possible to be able to constrain coordinates to those within this planet without having to go through other dimensions? Second: How would one return here after using the portal to go somewhere else?"
Computer: "It is... one way. Returning would require sending a portal to here; the device is incomplete... it appears a crystal used to focus it on just one location was never found. Looking at this planet, no tracer data from Caldon Bell's suit is detected, sans the helmet you are wearing."
Digifanatic: "Oh."
Deloth: "Do you know where this crystal IS?"
Aribar: "After all of the trials we have faced, I've got to wonder if Metal WANTS to be found."
Flaeyn: "How did you guys get separated from him anyway?"
Computer: "The crystal... was in need of creation."
Metal Man (GM): It gives you a readout on the crystal.
Digifanatic: "Same way we got separated from other Questers."
Metal Man (GM): It's a simple blue thing. Glows slightly.
Flaeyn: "And that is?"
Aribar: "We came into this world before Metal did. He stayed behind to take care of something. He was supposed to follow us."
Flaeyn: "I see."
Digifanatic: "That and some of us just happened to be ported off wherever else. How was the crystal going to be made?"
Deloth sits down on the floor and just listens to the conversation, still thinking.
Computer: "A simple synthesis of carbon into a lattice. Through which energy of a very exotic property would then be tuned to... only one frequency at a time."
Deloth: "Well, heck, let's just go grab some coal and make one."
Digifanatic: "It's probably a delicate process, Deloth."
Deloth sighs. "Probably, considering our luck."
Aribar: "I could -attempt- to make such a thing with a bit of magic, but I highly doubt that I will be successful."
Computer: "The system will wait for your work. Systems indicate a highly advanced base has been built above."
Digifanatic: *nods at the statement.* "We're temporarily working out of said base."
Computer: "As lab assistants of Caldon Bell, your patronage will be expected in the future. You may leave. Unless you have more questions."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, what the comp said about exotic energy makes this situation of the crystal very dicey. Yes... do you have photos of Caldon, in terms of what he looked like in full armor, civilian clothes, and such. Is there like, any picture evidence of the guy while he was still around?"
Aribar tries to cast an Earth Ele in an attempt to create a piece of coal which may meet their needs. The mage doubts it will work, but it could be worth the try.
Computer: "Regrettably there is no remnants... except for this."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar obtains earth, but it is just dirt. The computer shows an image of Metal Man. He's basically the same one the Questers remember, except with a shotgun mounted to his right arm and a wrench in his left. Above and below it is written 'Anti-TEU weapons system.'
Deloth: "That's him, all right." *takes a deep breath. Finally, a clue.*
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Aribar: "Hm. Just as I thought." *He drops the dirt onto the floor and wipes his hand off.*
Deloth: "..." *blinks and breathes out.* "...Okay, that was even weirder..."
Digifanatic: "What?"
Dragoshi: "Eh?"
Deloth: "Let's see, I wonder if..." *He suddenly... stops breathing. He still looks okay, he's just... yeah.*
Aribar turns to Deloth. "What's wrong?"
Digifanatic: *quietly.* "He looks like he's meditating or something..."
Dragoshi: *Proceeds to leave the place.*
Deloth: "I'm not meditating, Digi. I just... didn't feel like I needed to breathe." *He stands up.* "And apparently, I didn't."
Digifanatic: "...Wow. You fooled me."
Deloth: "Okay, fine, look, I'll do it again." *...'Sho nuff. He's not faking.*
Digifanatic: "No, you don't have to. I understood you, don't worry about it." *takes the helmet off and disconnects the Multitool.*
Aribar: "Maybe you mutated away your lungs and stomach."
Deloth: *dripping sarcasm.* "Oh, thank you, that makes me feel so very much better."
Digifanatic: *follows Dragoshi out.*
Aribar: "I thought it would. Seriously, though, I have no idea what could be causing your condition; whether it is good or bad, whether it is some illness or magic curse..."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers leave, and climb back up, into the Eggman's base.
Dr. Robotnik: "So... what did you find?"
Digifanatic: "A base that likely belongs to our old boss."
Aribar: "We found a few items from him and a computer."
Digifanatic: *holds up the things he has.*
Dragoshi: *Does the same.* *Well, the stuff he got from the base, anyway.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Hm. Well, nothing good yet. I've fixed the ship though, so you should be able to properly land THIS time... I have studied the ships you fought, after all. I'll prepare for liftoff..."
Aribar says nothing about the portal. He believes that Robotnik will eventually find it through later searches, but he would rather not have -more- transporter technology under his control.
Deloth: "I mean, I'm not complaining or anything, but... WHY?"
Aribar: "Why have you been transforming all this time? It may be for the same reason."
Deloth: "I dunno. I'm just sort of hoping I don't violently explode by now."
Digifanatic: "I think his transformation thing is more of his will, rather than something he's stumbled into."
Deloth: "...Plus, this really isn't helping the 'space alien' thing."
Digifanatic: "Yeah... I just wonder why we haven't found like a good library or scientist that could help you. Surely with all the pieces of this planet that are coming together--and even those that have yet to appear but may do soon enough--one of them's got to include somebody who understands your situation."
Deloth: "Heck, I'd be happy to find ANYTHING by now. Maybe we'll luck out. 'Are you a tentacled non-breathing shapeshifting winged chimera? Call us. We can help.'"
Digifanatic chuckles a bit at the statement. "Maybe Robotnik knows a biologist or something. May I ask you another question?"
Deloth: "Go ahead."
Digifanatic: "Last time in Kanto, after you accidentally set yourself on fire or whatever it was... how did you get healed? I wasn't really watching how you did it, so I don't know exactly what happened."
Deloth groans. "I don't really remember. Things in Kanto tend to run together into one big smear of destruction and insanity."
Digifanatic: "I mean, unless there's something I didn't see in a store or something that revives those that are knocked out, the only I thing I can imagine is that you were carted off to a Pokemon Center or something."
Deloth: "It's like a drunken night, only without the possibility of waking up with a hot girl in bed with you."
Digifanatic: "But that's a bit ridiculous, cause I'm pretty sure you're not a Pokemon. ...Then again, that TM could have worked on Raena had Garrick been a bit evil... and she's not a Pokemon. How does that even happen?!"
Deloth: "Dunno. Maybe Digimon and Pokemon are close enough for that to work."
Digifanatic: "Heh... the mon ending is about as close as it gets. That and the ability to shoot out elemental projectiles and such. After that, the two get very far away from each other."
Deloth: "Meh. Close enough for my tastes."
Digifanatic: "I don't think you'd classify as a Digimon either. They have evolution-like characteristics, but it's a very temporary measure and is rarely used outside of significant combat. Whereas Pokemon have a permanent evolution."
Deloth: "So I shoot right back to 'freak.' Joy."
Digifanatic: "You're not a freak... You're just something none of us have encountered, that's all."
Deloth: "I just wish there was SOME way to find out. It seems like every possibility I see gets slammed shut in my face. But. I'm getting whiny again, and nobody likes that."
Digifanatic: "I seriously wish I could help further than that."
Deloth: "Yeah... it's just odd that we haven't seen ANYONE else like me. You'd think that after years of working and seeing every place on the planet and a lot that AREN'T, we'd have stumbled across at least one."
Digifanatic: "That's the strange part about dimensions and universes... sometimes, they're just way too big."
Deloth: "Mmm-hmm."
Digifanatic: "I don't want to put you down or anything, I'm just giving a statement."
Deloth leans back and grins. "Which means, of course, that somewhere there's a whole dimension of people just like me wondering where the hell I am."
Digifanatic: .oO(Same here, though not necessarily a whole dimension.)
Deloth: "Thus, the next step is to find them. Although we haven't had much free time to do something like that lately."
Digifanatic: "Yeah. I mean, Red Text will wait for us, I know that..."
Deloth: "I'm not worried about Red Text. I'm worried about the world."
Digifanatic: "Oh yeah, freaky silhouette guy. Wish Red had a better description of him."
Deloth: "...Y'know, Digi, there's something else I'm noticing right about now."
Digifanatic: "What?"
Deloth: "Usually I'm pretty exhausted after a mission and I feel like I need to sleep. This time, I don't. Heck, I feel like I could stay up all night."
Digifanatic: "Hang on, lemme get this correct... Over the last 24 hours or so, you have realized that you don't need to rely on eating, breathing, and sleeping?"
Deloth shrugs. "Pretty much."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... that basically confirms that you are neither a Pokemon or Digimon. Yup, that'll do it."
Deloth: "So I take it that the next step is shedding my mortal skin and ascending to some higher plane. Or possibly just pull an all-nighter and watch TV all night. One of the two."
Digifanatic: "Heh, well, at least you can make light out of your situation."
Deloth: "It's either that or just pop from the stress. I prefer the first option."
Digifanatic: "Same here. Anything else?"
Deloth shakes his head. "I'm gonna go find something to occupy my time. Thanks for the talk, it makes me feel better."
Digifanatic: "No problem." .oO(That was kinda nice.)
