Date: January 19th, 2009.
Metal Man (GM): The Group went to island. Weird stuff happens on island. Ill Gills try to kill Questers on island. Galactic Federation gets in contact, suspects Red Text and makes plans to destroy his space base. Why Red Text would willingly have contacted such people and then indirectly had the Questers help them to this idea is beyond comprehension. Now the group is at the Eggman base...
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, it appears you completed what you wanted to do there, and another of the Dark... thing's... people... are gone. ...I do wish you would have something more major to do. My GENIUS mind needs some peace and quiet to recover."
Garrick: *was searching for ship stuffs too.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar's search reveals depleted crystals. They can no longer defy reality, but he can take them for further research.
Aribar: *Takes the crystals.*
Metal Man (GM): Garrick would find a bunch of damaged components which could be useful later. Galactic Federation guys took off with the computer, unfortunately. So it's mostly broken valves, levers, some busted gun mounts and guns...
Garrick: *would be hauling them back onto Robotnik's ship.* "Hey, doc. You got a spot where I can set up shop in here?"
Metal Man (GM): Robotnik shrugs.
Dr. Robotnik: "There's lots of island, but... I would actually prefer to be alone while you go on adventures. We aren't particularly allies. Just... grudging friends until the larger threats... dissipate. That's why I made you that ship..."
Garrick: *...* "...oh. Well, I'll just go there then." *heads to THEIR ship and looks for a spot to set up shop.*
Digifanatic: "Well, seen as how we have some free time, may I please ask you something, Doctor?"
Metal Man (GM): It's a 12-passenger carrying ship. One could probably tear out some seats and make a crude worktable out of them in the back.
Dr. Robotnik: "Yes?"
Digifanatic: "Are you or do you know anyone who's good in biology?"
Dr. Robotnik: "Biology... that was my grandfather."
Digifanatic: "Ohhh... I doubt we could conjure up his spirit. Anyone living, in that case?"
Dr. Robotnik: "He died a peaceful death, anyway. If you believe in the nonsense I've heard, people who die like that don't return..."
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Garrick: *goes about that, then, ripping away at some of the seats.*
Dr. Robotnik: "...Living people..." He puts a hand to his chin. "Nnnno."
Digifanatic: "Okay then. Thanks anyway." *walks off and looks for Red.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi look for Red. In doing so, he passes by Garrick, as he rips out two chairs and turns them into a table. And then bolts them to the ship.
Keikyoku: *Looks at the new worktable...*
Metal Man (GM): Red is looking a bit lost, standing in a corner.
Garrick: "...it'll do, I suppose."
Red: "Where am I to live now? This place... is too empty."
Digifanatic: *stops at Garrick for the time being.* "Oh, hey... trying to go back into weaponsmithing or something?"
Keikyoku: *Hugs Red.* "Be happy!"
Garrick: "I'm just going to do whatever I can to get our tech a bit more upgraded... I'll need to work on this ship, get it a bit more up to snuff..."
Aribar mutters a goodbye to Robotnik before returning to their ship.
Garrick: "Gotta draw up plans for a new base... one of our OWN..."
Digifanatic: "Ah. Need any help?"
Garrick: "Meh, maybe later. Right now I just got to get my bearings straight."
Keikyoku: "I can help, I have tools!"
Digifanatic: "Okay. No problem." *heads over to Red.*
Garrick: *glances to the rat, grunting.* "Uh huh. Right."
Red: *Looks to Digi.* "You know where you are going next?"
Digifanatic: "No, we're not really sure. We're sorta waiting it out right now, but since I have a chance, I'd like to talk to you about something. About a couple of interesting things that happened in Kanto before we found you."
Red: "Those are...?"
Garrick: "Holes in reality."
Aribar listens to the others talk. They don't know what to do next and they have no home. Once more they have no guiding force. He would attempt to pull up maps of the continents they have traversed and think about suitable locations for a base, using the ship's computer..
Digifanatic: "Well, the best way to put is that technology intended for use on Pokemon apparently apply to things that are not Pokemon."
Garrick dumps his large bag full of parts into a little bin by his new table, which he sets up and bolts down into the corner along with a makeshift swinging chair. His tools go up on the wall.
Red: "It is not surprising. I already told you how my world was damaged..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Red: "It is self-correcting, however. I doubt any unplanned use for the Pokeball would be reliable."
Garrick: "Which reminds me..."
Digifanatic: "Now, neither of the members who I am about to speak to appear to be here right now, but apparently one of them was healed at a Pokemon Center, which I believe only works if you are inside of a Pokeball."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would see http://ssq.metalman88.com/partmap.PNG, pretty much. To the bottom right corner would be that place the Questers last went to.
Garrick: *turns around, looking to Red.* "Have you had your Pokemon out and about recently since we've left Kanto?"
Red: "Not really." He looks to his pokeballs. "Contrary to what some people say, the pokeballs hold them in suspended animation. Continually letting them in and out is worse than not."
Garrick: "I'm more curious if they'd follow your orders now that we're out of Kanto."
Digifanatic: "That, and someone else--again, not a Pokemon--positively reacted to a TM. The move it contained was not learned, but apparently, it could have happened anyway."
Keikyoku: *Looks for something interesting.*
Red: "I would not doubt their following my orders, otherwise Kanto itself might have stolen such an ability from me."
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku would see nothing other than the conversation with Red.
Red: "Well, TMs are somewhat mysterious devices, and some of you look like Pokemon. I can't be sure. I haven't used TMs in years."
Garrick: "...hm... you got your Pokedex on you?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, but we know the creature who could have used the TM is not a Pokemon."
Red: "Yes." He flips it open. "It's full."
Keikyoku: "Can you teach me a cool move?"
Red: "No, I don't have any TMs."
Garrick: "Mind if I take a look at it for a second?"
Metal Man (GM): He tosses it to Garrick.
Garrick: *grabs it out of the air, looking it over.*
Red: "See what you want; it's not terribly important outside of my world."
Garrick: "I don't care about Pokemon too much. I care more about the tech."
Metal Man (GM): It's a generation 1 Pokedex, with some small enhancements; one of Oak's special-ordered versions.
Digifanatic: "And the one who was taken to the Pokemon Center has many traits typically not associated with Pokemon, like fluent speech. Usually only the really powerful ones can do that."
Garrick: *holds it up, shaking it at Digi.* "Guess what I'm gonna work on first?"
Metal Man (GM): It possesses the power of a GBA and color images, going up to 251 pokemon.
Digifanatic: "Ahhh..."
Keikyoku: "Can I see it?"
Digifanatic: "See if we can use it outside of Kanto, huh?"
Red: "I'm not a physicist... so I have no clue how or why..." He looks to his pokedex. "Don't mess with the pokedex. It's old and fragile. Sometimes I have to smack it to make it work."
Garrick: "...no, Kei. I'm going to try and recreate the Smash Dex."
Digifanatic: "That's what I was thinking."
Keikyoku: "But I wanna scan stuff..."
Digifanatic: "You may be able to."
Garrick: "This wouldn't do you any good. It's coded to work on Pokemon. Just pokemon."
Aribar looks back to Garrick. "Good luck trying to make a Smash Dex. I think you're really going to need it."
Keikyoku: >.>
Digifanatic: "Garrick's hoping to program it so that it can be used on things besides Pokemon."
Garrick: "Back in the good ol' days, we had Smash Dexes we could use to scan enemies."
Aribar: "And half of the time it even worked!"
Garrick: "Give us vital information. They held some pretty big tech in them, but the basic idea of the Pokedex was the same in all of them."
Red: "I'll tell you a little secret."
Garrick: "I'm pretty sure if I work on it enough, I can get a streamlined version of the Smash Dex up and running. It's gonna take some doing, though."
Red: "The pokedex already had all the information in it."
Digifanatic: *back to Red.* "So yeah, what you said about glitches and everything... the first time we hit Kanto, we were granted Pokedexes by Oak, but they wouldn't give a readout if you tried feeding it information from non-Pokemon, yet Poke Balls and TMs work. Oddly selective."
Garrick: *glances to Red.*
Red: "Professor Oak had already seen all the pokemon. Ever wonder why he's so old?"
Garrick: "Heh. Makes sense..."
Red: "He just wanted successors. So you can't make it, like, scan something and magically find data on it. In fact, any such device would defy... logic... ...What happened to your realm?"
Garrick: "...hmm..."
Red: "If you are curious as to how to know something about somebody without having data... you should ask Mewtwo. He can modify memories and read people's minds. But I haven't a clue as to where he went."
Garrick: "Mewtwo is kinda on the moon and doesn't want to be disturbed."
Red: "...The moon??? No wonder why."
Aribar: "In our realm, Professor Oak made the Smash Dex. Most of the time we were scanning things that other people have encountered."
Garrick: "Not all the time..."
Red: "Well... you'd need to find those people and somehow convert what they know into data... I don't know."
Metal Man (GM): Speaking of scanners, somebody mentioned Samus amongst the GF people.
Garrick: *pauses, frowning... he hadn't spoken to Samus in forever...* "...hm... well, I don't think it'll be that bad... here, Red. I might need to look at it again soon." *tosses him the Dex back, standing and stretching.* "I think I'll go for a walk. Maybe it'll clear my head."
Red: *Takes it.* "Perhaps later you can fix the faulty connections inside it--it likes to lose power and button sensitivity."
Deloth walks in. "What'd I miss?"
Keikyoku: "Lemme see it!"
Red: *Holds it away from Keikyoku.* "Not with that attitude."
Aribar goes back to thinking about a base. Having one would be beneficial, but rather difficult. They would have to look for money, supplies, and people to create and upkeep such a facility. The half-elf wonders if it is even possible for them to create another HQ.
Garrick: *heads outside, bapping Kei in the head before nodding to Del and walking out the door.*
Keikyoku: *Frowns.*
Digifanatic: "Oh, hi, Deloth. Good timing." *back to Red.* "This is the guy who got healed at the Pokemon Center."
Deloth finds a seat and sits down.
Digifanatic: *back to Deloth.* "I was telling him how all the technology in Kanto has seemed to cross over towards things that aren't Pokemon."
Garrick: *paces outside of the ship, frowning.* "Samus had scanning technology... a good deal of it, too... I don't see what the big deal is, physical and technological scanning equipment is that high tech... that's basically what the Dex was..."
Deloth: *absently.* "Yep. That it did..."
Red: "He looks like a pokemon. In the damaged world of Kanto he'd probably work well enough inside a pokeball... maybe... I don't know the math exactly, but Pokeballs are made to hold things which are similar to pokemon. Something too different will overload the mechanism."
Digifanatic: "I guess 'damaged' is the important word."
Garrick: "How could scanning things defy logic? You scan it to collect the data."
Deloth: "...Guys, I have a confession to make."
Digifanatic: "Yes?"
Deloth: "I haven't been 100% honest about what I did before I joined up with the Questers."
Garrick: "And Samus could scan stuff good... now, if only I can find her."
Metal Man (GM): Garrick would think... To someone like Red, the world operates on a rather selective logic.
Aribar turns about in his chair. "You haven't been honest about something that occurred over a decade ago?"
Metal Man (GM): So... to him, scanning and learning from it is impossible.
Deloth: "Well, it makes it a lot easier to lie about it, doesn't it?"
Metal Man (GM): Because the Pokedex always had the same set of data for him, and similarly for other trainers. The only differences appear to be due to whomever handed the dex, hence hinting to something other than actual scanning...
Digifanatic: "No big deal, Deloth--I mean, as long as you weren't some sort of terrorist or genocidal maniac."
Keikyoku: "Can I see the pokedex?"
Deloth: *dryly.* "Yes, Digi, you have caught me. Now I shall twirl my mustache and tie a fair maiden to a set of railroad tracks."
Garrick: *reached to his belt, pulling the minimal radio out and turning to the GF frequency, which he hoped he still remembered.* "Galaxy Federation, come in. This is Quester Garrick Fy'aar. Over."
Red: *Puts Pokedex into pocket, which means it's in invisible item space. Oh no!*
Digifanatic chuckles at the dry response.
Radio Responder: "This is the Galactic Federation. What is your message?"
Keikyoku: *Glares at red.* "I made you stuff."
Garrick: "I'm looking to get in touch with Bounty Hunter Samus Aran."
Digifanatic: "So what happened? "
Red: "You made me... what did you make? Besides this."
Metal Man (GM): He holds out a small piece of shiruken.
Deloth: "I was a Runner. It's a long story, if you've got time."
Red: "It's not the most important thing in the world, and if I knew it was going to cost me my Pokedex, I wouldn't have taken them..."
Radio Responder: "She's on her way to your planet as I speak, sir. Just hold on and she should be able to land at the base you're in."
Keikyoku: "I just wanna look at it..."
Aribar: "We're currently waiting for something to end the world. I think we have time, Del."
Digifanatic: "Well, I kinda have time. Dr. Robotnik can't get me a biologist to talk with about you, so go ahead."
Garrick: "Good to know. Thank you for the help. Out."
Red: "But it's incredibly fragile." He walks off.
Radio Responder: "Roger." *Cuts out.*
Garrick: *flicks the radio off before heading back to the ship, bounding up the stairs.* "Guys, we have incoming friendly company... an old friend, if you will..."
Keikyoku: "If it's so fragile why did you throw it?"
Deloth: "Alright, so--who's that, Garrick?"
Aribar looks up at Garrick.
Digifanatic: *he's listening.*
Garrick: *shrugs.* "Come see for yourself. She's supposed to be landing in the camp here in a few minutes... and someone please restrain the rat. He'll most likely want all the shiny stuff on her."
Red: "...I trusted him to catch it."
Garrick: *turns with that, heading back down the ramp.*
Aribar: "I'll come out in a moment; I would like to hear Deloth's deep, dark secrets."
Deloth: "Not so much deep and dark. I just never really felt the urge to talk about it until now."
Digifanatic: "Oh."
Deloth: "Basically, on the planet where I lived, you had two halves. Stable and Chaotic."
Digifanatic: "Okay..."
Deloth: "The Stable half is where everyone lived. The Chaotic half was downright bizarre. It'd change about every two days. Sometimes it'd be a massive ocean, sometimes this bunch of floating rocks, you name it, it had it. The weird part was, every time it changed, it had items in it. And monsters."
Digifanatic: "Geez, if we came from the same universe, I wish I had a telescope powerful enough to find this place."
Deloth: "There didn't seem to be any reason to it. One day you could find a bag of sand, the next a ten-carat diamond."
Keikyoku: "I wanna go there."
Aribar: "So, where is the part where you lied?"
Deloth: "So anyways, people started training to go in there and find stuff to bring out and sell. You had to be proficient at pretty much anything you could come across, and you had to be able to fight. REALLY well. If you died in there, there wasn't even anything to bury. Technically, Ari, it's not a lie, it's 'evasion of the truth.' So anyways, a couple named John and Melissa got together and had a kid. That kid happened to grow up and become a Runner. Three guesses as to who the kid is. First two don't count."
Digifanatic: "Well, you stole my thunder. So I presume that would be you, and...?"
Deloth: "And then I nearly got my damn fool self killed off. Twice."
Digifanatic: "So you cheated death twice over your life. Julian probably did that twice a week."
Aribar: "Now, don't take away his thunder, Digi."
Digifanatic: "Sorry."
Deloth: "I just wish they hadn't used the Ti'Fiona name. Makes me sound like I was raised by elves. No offense."
Aribar: "Offense possibly not taken. Continue."
Deloth: "Come to think of it, the Chaotic half probably did some of the stuff that I never really thought about at the time. Like... deer. Deer were freaking EVERYWHERE."
Digifanatic: "Heh. Interesting enough."
Deloth: "Deer steaks. Deer stew. Deer everything for freaking food. And fish. I'm not sure which kind, but they were in every lake on the place."
Digifanatic: "Ahh..."
Deloth: "They never seemed to run out, either, even with two villages slaughtering them like cattle. ...Maybe there was something in the water."
Aribar: "... The water which you probably drank whilst there?"
Deloth: "Maybe. We boiled it first, though. And the dragons just had enough stomach acid to dissolve whatever was in it."
Digifanatic: "Huh, I forgot you were something else before the dragon phase... must be me blocking out bad memories from when I was first here."
Deloth: "Believe what you want to believe." *He shakes his head.* "I KNOW the deer should have ran out with the way that they ate."
Digifanatic: "It's an interesting story. I'm just wondering what's coming next."
Deloth: "You haven't really lived until you've seen someone chow down on ten of them, including bones, while you're injured and in no shape to escape. It sort of makes you think."
Aribar: "Do I look like a deer in the wrong light?"
Digifanatic: "Again, I presume that would be you that did that?"
Deloth: "That would be Alexia, actually. She enjoyed her breakfasts immensely."
Digifanatic: "Oh. Never saw her eat like that when she was with us."
Deloth: "Of course, she was also in her scaly form and had to take care of an idiot who broke a shoulder AND a leg AND nearly made it two legs, so it's somewhat more understandable."
Digifanatic: "True... so how do you do that? Saber-toothed tiger pop up in the Chaotic half? Or some animal like that?"
Deloth: "I tried to jump a crevice without checking it first. Whatever was in it expressed displeasure by extending a paw, catching me in mid-air, and smashing me into a solid stone floor. So anyways, after that, some nut from my village thought that the dragons were planning an attack and nearly killed them all. I dodged a strike, saw something flash a light in my eyes, and wound up in Nintendus."
Aribar: "Deloth, I am severely disappointed. There is nothing in there that I can use against you later."
Deloth: "If you don't mind, I'd rather not elaborate on that."
Metal Man (GM): As time goes by, the Questers eventually notice a small ship approaching the island they're on. It's orange and rounded.
Deloth: "But anyways, that--what IS that?"
Aribar looks out towards the ship. "I believe it is the visitor Garrick as looking for."
Digifanatic: "Ah yes."
Aribar heads outside to greet whomever it is.
Deloth gets up and heads out to... the outside. Yes.
Digifanatic: *follows.*
Metal Man (GM): It lands. It's... definitely Samus' ship. The top of the ship opens up, and Samus leaps out. Samus lands before the Questers, in her Varia suit.
Digifanatic: .oO(I should probably tell my story sometime... problem is, besides the 'nuclear missiles that could blow up a quarter of Earth and irradiate the other three' part, it's not very entertaining.)
Samus: "I just heard of this planet. What is this place?"
Digifanatic: "An odd collection of continents that have practically nothing in common with each other, Ms. Aran."
Keikyoku: *Looks at Samus.*
Metal Man (GM): She puts a hand to her visor and scanning noises are heard.
Samus: "Some sort of bounty hunters or mercenaries, aren't you? High levels of gold and weaponry, but no identifiable symbols..."
Aribar: "You haven't heard of us; we are the Questers."
Deloth: "NONE?" *taps the tattoo on his shoulder.*
Samus: "So, a mercenary organization." She looks at that tattoo. "Not identifiable to the system."
Aribar: "We try to keep peace and fight for good causes on this planet."
Samus: "There is a Red Text, or so I hear. Why did you caution against destroying his space orbiter directly?"
Keikyoku: *Continues looking at Samus.*
Metal Man (GM): Samus is heavily armored, hard to tell but she is a girl. Her armor is rather blocky.
Digifanatic: "Because knowing a freak like him, he'd probably survive it by the skin of his teeth and ensure us that practically unavoidable armageddon will rain upon us."
Aribar: "To answer that question with another: did you happen to pass some dark space ship or meteor on the way to this planet?"
Samus: "I have fought similar people. They would not have the same odds of success against me. Yes. I shot down some of its probes."
Keikyoku: "I like your armor."
Samus: "That should also be destroyed." *Looks to Keikyoku.* "An alien being such as yourself would have reason to like this." She fires a shot over his head. "It is more powerful than anything you have on yourselves currently."
Deloth: "...Ah, right. I'm not sure if it'll help, but it may provide a clue." *He hands the small darkness shard/blade thing to Samus.*
Aribar: "Red Text and whomever is on that ship do not like each other. We are highly skilled warriors, yet the scouts that said ship brought down to this planet could nearly kill us. I do not want to know what their own soldiers are like."
Keikyoku: "Ooooooh pretty."
Metal Man (GM): Samus then turns over to see Aribar.
Samus: "Well. I have scanned your power levels. You make for a threat in groups, but you are easily divided and conquered. Has anyone else tried and failed to destroy this Red Text person?"
Deloth: "You aren't touching anything, rodent. Not after the mess you caused with the statues. Got it, Kei?"
Aribar: "Aye, there have been others that have failed."
Keikyoku: *Sticks out a tongue.*
Samus: "Did they resemble you in their weaponry?"
Deloth fights down the urge to grab said tongue and chop it off.
Samus: "I believe this Red Text may have a technology advantage. An advantage I would negate. His satellite is woefully outdated compared to Galactic Federation technology. Chozo technology makes it irrelevant, even."
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Deloth: "Chozo?"
Samus: "The Chozo. The highest on the technology tree. They raised me, but most of them are dead now... I still hunt their killers."
Keikyoku: "Who killed them?" *Stares at the gun.*
Deloth: "I see. My condolences."
Samus: "Space Pirates... and Phazon. I destroyed the Phazon. But the Space Pirates still evade me."
Aribar: "There is a man named Robotnik who has been our uneasy ally up to this point. He built the orbiting space stations around this planet, but they have fallen into disorder I suppose. He has tried and failed to take down the Red Text. There is also some sort of secret agent named James Bond attacking the Red Text."
Samus: "Is the Secret Agent more advanced than you, technology-wise?"
Digifanatic: "Most likely."
Keikyoku: "He has grenades."
Samus: "Another scientist of this level..." She scans the Robotnik base. "Would be unable to equal this Red Text, who deciphered our communications."
Aribar: "I am not sure, but he gave us a good fight, or chase, rather, when we fought."
Samus: "He is still using standard weapons from a long ago era. That is why he could not defeat this Red Text. Let me tell you what I know."
Deloth: "Um... by the way, if you aren't going to scan that blade, can I have it back."
Metal Man (GM): She presses a button and a hologram appears.
Samus: "The Red Text deciphered our communications and sent a realistic distress call. Our AI have detected that, while intelligent, he uses methods about fifty years behind our own. He bit off more than he could chew when he called for us. The Dark being's troops are at the same level we are, so it took a little doing, but the dark being lacks real tactics. You provided the tactics and the Dark Being lost. However."
Metal Man (GM): She points to the Red Text orbiter.
Samus: "You identified his orbiter, and he thought, apparently, this wouldn't happen. So unless he has a secret super-weapon..." She points her gun at the sky. "That thing will be destroyed. I need to know one more thing before I go... This planet has dimensional instabilities like Aether... What characterizes these disturbances? Are you from different worlds? Is there a light and dark world? Is there phazon anywhere?"
Keikyoku: "Do you have any cool weapon I can have?"
Deloth: "I'm from a planet named Chorrus, and can I please have that shard back if you're not going to examine it for anything?"
Garrick: *walks up from his pacing, smacking Kei in the back of the head again.* "Samus... good to see you."
Samus: "Hello... Quester. Your friends have told me that the main trouble spot in this galaxy is a certain Red Text, who has been using his superior technology to trick you."
Garrick: "That's about right."
Deloth: *mumbling.* "Apparently not..."
Samus: "However, help has arrived. We can match anything he pulls on us and destroy him."
Aribar: "Most of us are from another... Dimension, I think. A world called Nintendus. It should be gone now. We all came from different places before that. Personally, I came from Whaller. As far as I know, that place also doesn't exist here."
Samus: "Hm." Samus looks gravely at Aribar. "Then this whole planet and its enemies are from different dimensions, and some sort of catastrophic event must have ripped the planet into pieces that span across dimensions."
Garrick: "Don't get too cocky involving this situation. He's a lot trickier than you think. I'd use the highest... well, all the highest gear you have, the best of the best to take care of him. And that's about right, yeah."
Samus: "I am the highest gear." She points to her cannon, which appear to sport some strange modes you've never seen before. "I have dealt with tricky beings before. Mother Brain was one of them. It took two tries, but she died."
Keikyoku: "Ooooh."
Garrick: "Yes, well, consider this to be another Mother Brain. If we had half the power we had ages ago, we could probably take him out ourselves."
Aribar: "The Red Text is providing some planetary defenses against the dark ship, however. If he were to be beaten, then the dark ship's probes and vanguard could land on this planet undeterred. A few have slipped pass now, but we have dealt with them to an extent."
Deloth: "..." *He pauses for a moment.* "Could you either scan that crystal I gave you or give it back?"
Samus: "A defense. What kind of defense?" She stares at the crystal. "Oh."
Metal Man (GM): She scans it.
Samus: "Hm." She hands the crystal back to Deloth. "It's a lens which focuses darkness instead of light. Defies physics. I wouldn't expect any less from the kind of monsters you speak of here."
Deloth: "Thanks."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth grabs the crystal.
Garrick: "If possible, Samus, I'd also like to get some data on your scanning technology. I plan on making some scanners of our own. Even a little bit of data would help."
Metal Man (GM): The crystal glows. A strange man/Wolfman flies out of it.
Deloth: "Now, wh--oh, what NOW?"
Metal Man (GM): It stops glowing.
Aribar: "That query would be something to ask the Red Text, Samus. It would be his defense."
Keikyoku: *Looks at the crystal.*
Digifanatic: "Huh?"
Deloth: "..."
Garrick immediately draws his pistol in response, growling as he raises it and aims at the figure in questions.
Deloth: "Can I just give up and go insane now?"
Aribar glances at the crystal and then at the newcomer. "Ah, greetings person who came out of a crystal..."
Samus: "..." *Scans the wolf man.* *Looks back to others.* "Scanning technology... you lack it?" She looks over her shoulder. "Well, I can give you one of my spares."
Rinith: "What... the... hell..."
Garrick: "I'd really appreciate it. Now, shoot this thing. Whatever it is."
Keikyoku: "I call dibs on the scanner!"
Garrick: "Kei, SHUT. UP."
Deloth: *BEEP BEEP BEEP.* "...No."
Garrick: "For GOD sakes, can't you--oh, fantastic."
Samus: "You didn't ask for the scanner until now." She hands the scanner to Garrick. "Is every day like this for you?"
Garrick: *takes it and pockets said gear in his bag.* "Yes. Yes it is. Please take me with you."
Samus: "I suspect you might have a localized dimensional tear wrapped around you. Something to do with that other world you were speaking about. My scanner keeps going off like crazy on you."
Rinith: *pushes himself up and shakes his head some.*
Metal Man (GM): Samus looks and goes to walk with Garrick, while the others come to terms with the... new person?
Aribar: "Dimensional trouble and damage has always fo... Er, nevermind." *Continues looking at the wolf man.*
Garrick: *goes off to walk with her, then, his pistol still drawn..*
Keikyoku: *Walks up to the Wolfman-thing and stares at it.*
Deloth blinks, sighs, pulls open a pocket of skin, and drops the crystal into it. Inner hyperspace shapeshifter inventory. Don't leave home without it.
Digifanatic: "If you come in peace, we promise not to attack."
Deloth: "So now we have a werewolf appearing out of freaking nowhere just to put the cherry on the sundae?"
Rinith: *still holds his head some.* "Did... I eat something bad again?"
Keikyoku: "If you don't come in peace we promise not to attack."
Garrick: *grunts as he walks next to Samus.* "I'll give you every coin I have, my entire technological know how, and be your bloody slave if you take me AWAY from this BS..."
Deloth: "And while you're at it, could you shoot the rat here into an asteroid, Samus?"
Samus: "I can't take you away from here. You would just be killed. Everyone I know has died."
Garrick: "I seriously doubt that. But it was worth a shot..."
Samus: "The Chozo. The Galactic Federation soldiers who follow me. Even Space Pirates and Phazon."
Rinith: "Peace...? I'm not quite sure where... I am right now..."
Garrick: "I've fought them all."
Deloth: "Add him to the list." *points to Keikyoku.*
Digifanatic: "Don't worry, we're not quite sure either."
Samus: "My life is a solitary one... what I would rather know is how you got here... and what you saw in this 'other world.'"
Garrick: "We saw you. In fact, we fought with you."
Samus: "Common, my Dark counterpart once roamed the galaxy."
Garrick: "No, no dark counterpart. You. Samus Aran. Bounty hunter. The real deal."
Samus: "If you mean another me, well." She chuckles. "If it was another dimension, I would believe there was a different me there as well."
Aribar: "Where you are? You're on a continent is a place that is probably far away from where you just were; transported here for some reason or another."
Samus: "So this other world... everything is different? Or was?"
Garrick: "Was. And kinda sorta."
Samus: "I am compiling a report on this planet. It is stranger than any other one I've visited."
Garrick: "Please do..."
Samus: "You're the first person to claim seeing me when I never came here, and actually have gone to another dimension."
Garrick: "Any help we could get would be incredible... I'd happily tell you everything I know. It'd take a good few hours, though."
Samus: "This planet violates laws of physics. You claim an all-powerful manipulator ensures nothing goes right for long."
Rinith: "That's... comforting..." >.> "Okay... I ate something bad... just got to wake up now."
Samus: "And, unlike most people, it's not a belief. There really is something up there."
Rinith: "My bird is gone, that should be more proof I'm asleep..."
Samus: "What I need to know is what is transporting things back and forth. Teleporters."
Deloth walks over to the wolf-guy and snaps his fingers in his face. "You're awake. Deal with it."
Samus: "Holes."
Keikyoku: *Punches the Wolfman.* "I don't think you're dreaming."
Garrick: "Portals. Yeah, I know the deal."
Samus: "It is my duty to close these."
Garrick: "We closed a huge one in Kanto, a continent nearby."
Deloth turns around and gives the Glare of Death to Keikyoku. "Shut up and leave NOW."
Samus: "Kanto. Let me guess. Reality did not work properly because of it."
Garrick: "Right in one."
Keikyoku: *Smiles back at Del.*
Garrick: "We've got a guy in our group that's from there."
Rinith: *winces at being punched by Kei.* "I've felt pain in dreams before..." *holds his head still.*
Samus: "You Questers... what founded you? Is there a leader?"
Garrick: "There... WAS a leader."
Samus: "You speak of this planet being horrible. It may be possible for us to hire you for the Galactic Federation and take you off this planet."
Deloth: *sighs and turns back to the new guy.* "First of all, excuse the rat. He's an idiot."
Samus: "But I need the information first."
Aribar: "You're going to be dreaming for a while. My name's Aribar Hunter. Do you have a name?"
Garrick: "Dunno where he is around here. Though, if we found him, I'd personally shoot him and keep on shooting him until he never came back."
Samus: "Interesting. What does he look like?"
Garrick: "Oh, about... I'd say around seven and a half feet tall? Totally covered in metal armor. Probably half a ton, fully decked out. Maybe more."
Samus: "...You're kidding, right?" She looks over her shoulder. "That's like a slightly heavier Galactic Federation Marine."
Deloth: "Second, you're awake. Some might say unfortunately."
Dragoshi: "I thought he was only a little over six feet, not seven."
Samus: "...Who's there?" She looks for Dragoshi's location.
Deloth extends a hand. "Name's Deloth. What's yours?"
Garrick: "I'm six one and he's a good head and shoulders over me... and that's Drag. Don't worry, he's good people. Another Quester."
Samus: "How is his technology compared to ours? Is it similar?"
Metal Man (GM): She fires a shot or two.
Rinith: *eyes them both for a bit before shaking his head.* "Rinith... so then I am not asleep unless perhaps we all are somehow meeting..."
Digifanatic: "And I'm Ian."
Garrick: "It's pretty close, yeah. But it's kinda... odd."
Samus: "There have been tales of a strange man who appeared after the Phazon incident..."
Keikyoku: "Hi."
Samus: "Shortly after his appearance and disappearance, we heard the distress call."
Garrick: "...hm... did he attack at all?"
Deloth: "Nope, you're awake. Now, I could make you THINK you were dreaming by doing this, possibly." *He pops his tentacles out and waits for a reaction.*
Samus: "It seems he would have, except he was reported seeing Federation Marines..."
Dragoshi: *Is in the ship's 'shotgun' seat or whatever is close to it. Looks like he just woke up.*
Samus: "...And telling them to prepare for something, before vanishing."
Rinith: *blinks.* "Ok..."
Digifanatic just sorts stands in the background for now--more or less listening to things than anything else.
Garrick: "Hm... did they get a description on him?"
Samus: "This is all strange. That is why I agreed to come here in the first place. No... he had a blinding light field around him. Electromagnetic energy as well."
Deloth: "...Dull surprise. I AM impressed."
Samus: "He violated physics several times. Especially with how he ripped a hole through thin air and vanished."
Deloth: "I think we'll get along just fine."
Garrick: "Hm... well, I'm not sure if Metal could pull that off, but he did do stranger things when we ran with him."
Keikyoku: *Hops in the gunner seat and shoots some seagulls.*
Samus: "He was carrying a rectangle with him... we couldn't make it out. ...But if this is true, and my readings are correct..." She shakes her head. "Something very wrong is happening."
Deloth: "...Hey, Garrick, next time we hit a store, remind me to buy a good, strong coil of rope."
Samus: "And it centers on that person you claim is unstoppable."
Garrick: "Who, Red Text?"
Samus: "Yes."
Garrick: *nods to Del before looking back to Samus.*
Samus: "This planet has been progressively gaining energy."
Garrick: "Pfft. I didn't say he was unstoppable."
Samus: "If it keeps up, it could explode, or any matter of things."
Garrick: "I just said that he's hard to get our mitts on. If we can get him in one spot and keep him there, we could take him out easy."
Samus: "I will have to see if this Red Text has any knowledge to do with it, if he really is what you say he is."
Rinith: *looks towards Deloth, not even believing what he was saying himself, though it happened to him twice before "So I take from what I'm hearing, I'm in a completely different dimension..."
Samus: "The Darkness, by the way, is a phazon-class infectious agent which is sentient. It's practically the same, only less intelligent."
Digifanatic: "Ah."
Garrick: "...the Darkness. You're serious?"
Deloth: "Correct. You catch on quick."
Samus: "Yes. We scanned Dan's corpse. It did much the same level of damage as phazon, only it lacked proper mental takeover mechanisms."
Keikyoku: "Well, you could be in the same dimension, just in some construct of a crazed madman with physics defying powers."
Garrick: "Well, fantastic..."
Samus: "Our researches dubbed it the 'D-Cell' for 'Darkness Cell', as the cells of the infection absorb light. It is inert outside of this galaxy. So it requires that large ship to operate."
Garrick: "I've worked with phazon before... Darkness..."
Digifanatic: "Huh, okay then."
Samus: "We can't quite touch the ship yet. It's too big..."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, we just need a way to disperse it. Handle it in small, less threatening pieces."
Deloth: "Dynamite. When all else fails, break out the explosions."
Garrick: *looks to Deloth.* "You wan to use Dynamite on a space ship? Heh."
Deloth: "Of course, the key is using ENOUGH dynamite."
Keikyoku: "Sounds like fun."
Deloth: "YOU are not going to be involved."
Garrick: "Agreed..." *glares at Kei.*
Samus: "Anyway, I have to go."
Keikyoku: "Says you."
Samus: "Your information is enlightening, but--" She walks over to the whole group. "Your planet is gaining energy and could explode in a month if it continues. Additionally, that huge ship outside your atmosphere may crash into it just before then."
Deloth: "Says me, Garrick, Garrick's gun, and my swords."
Digifanatic: .oO(Yeah... he's this dimension's version of my younger self. The combat potential with too much ambition and in need of some maturity.)
Garrick: *turns to look at Samus.* "Alright, you have our radio signal. It's not much, but you can probably get a good channel with us if we're not locked down somewhere."
Deloth: "And possibly a chokehold just for giggles."
Samus: "We will mount an attack on Red Text's ship. After which, we will come to pick up anyone like you, who might understand... the circumstances."
Rinith: "Well... I'm going to... stick around for just a bit, I want my bird and !!" *checks his side where a scimitar can be found.* >.> "Wherever the hell my original sword went."
Garrick: "Be careful, Samus... don't take him for granted."
Digifanatic: *looks to Rinith.* "I have no idea... probably got stuck in wherever you came from."
Samus: "I won't. I never do."
Metal Man (GM): Samus walks into her ship, which takes off.
Aribar simply listens in on the various conversations around him. He wonders what other doomsday things could happen to this planet.
Garrick: "...right."
Metal Man (GM): Dr. Eggman walks out, glancing at the ship which flies away.
Dr. Robotnik: "Hmph. She doesn't know ANYTHING compared to me!"
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh boy.)
Dr. Robotnik: "The planet won't explode! No... no. Something WORSE will happen!"
Garrick: *turns to Kei, drawing his pistol.* "Doc, perfect timing. I've got a use for that cell we stuck Del in again."
Dr. Robotnik: "...Although her comments did... kind of make sense... in the first place."
Dragoshi: "The planet will turn into a giant squeaky banana and explode?"
Keikyoku hides behind Rinith.
Dr. Robotnik: "Oh?" He looks to Keikyoku. "I see I have become your resident jailer."
Deloth: "I'll help Garrick drag him in."
Aribar looks towards Robotnik. "And she thought your technology was countlessly outdated compared to her own, Robotnik."
Dr. Robotnik: "Pah. She doesn't know what lurks inside this base. Besides, if that is true, then it's a good thing I scanned her craft while she was talking endlessly."
Garrick: "First thing's first. Get a warp lock on the rat and lock him down into that cell. I'm tired of him acting like a two year old everywhere we go."
Dr. Robotnik: "I shall have my own pulse-jet space-capable thrusters soon! Mwoohoohoohoo!"
Rinith: "..."
Deloth: "Incidentally, Doc, would you happen to have some books or crosswords or something on board? Midnight television programming sucks after seeing it for five nights straight."
Dr. Robotnik: "...Well..." He holds a hand to his chin. "A jail cell might work, but if he acts like a two year old, I know a better place for him."
Dragoshi: "A daycare center?"
Dr. Robotnik: "Why yes. Chao World!"
Garrick: "...oh yes."
Dragoshi: *Laughs.*
Garrick: "Oh yes. That will do nicely."
Keikyoku: >.> <.<
Dr. Robotnik: "He can even do things... in fact, on behalf of me. I can cheat at chao races by using him! No one will notice, as long as he continues acting like a two year old. And I can share some of the money with him."
Keikyoku: >.> <.<
Dr. Robotnik: "But not a lot of it. Because I need more power!"
Keikyoku: "I like money..."
Dr. Robotnik: "That's the spirit. Come with me." He motions to Keikyoku. "As for the rest of you..."
Keikyoku: "But I don't quite trust you..."
Dr. Robotnik: "I do believe Samus would have no problem taking down the Super Death Egg, but the Red Text--"
James Bond: "...Has backup."
Metal Man (GM): James Bond emerges from the water, taking off a scuba suit.
Digifanatic: "Ah, hello, Mr. Bond."
Dr. Robotnik: "Who are you, and what are you doing HERE?"
Aribar: .oO(I hate loose ends.) *He unsheathes Sunlight and turns to Bond.*
James Bond: "Bond. James Bond."
Rinith: ...
Garrick: "God, why did you have to leave it open for him?"
Dr. Robotnik: "..." *Shakes his head.* "I hate this corrupted world."
James Bond: "I dislike your weak methods, but I have come to tell you of something... if we can have a trade."
Dr. Robotnik: "A trade? With you? Okay... how about shooting you first?"
James Bond: "I only take cash, not bullion." *Straightens his tie.* "I know what can be used to destroy this Red Text. In return, you warp me back to my home world."
Metal Man (GM): He points to Deloth.
James Bond: "This person has the means. He just has been hiding it all this time."
Digifanatic: "Eh?"
Keikyoku: "You were actually in the water..."
Deloth: "...Okay, see, you're talking about things I don't know of again."
James Bond: "I stole enough of Carrington Institute's files and broke enough ankles to find out Trevelyan had made a teleporter. With Deloth here's teleportation."
Deloth: "Oh. That."
James Bond: "He wanted what I did: To get out of this crazy world."
Digifanatic: "Ah yes."
Garrick: "Yeah, that's true, but cross-dimensional teleportation? That's a little much..."
James Bond: "As I recall, it was perfected, moments before the man whose ankle I crushed killed him. The Carrington Institute people had destroyed their copy, since it was 'dangerous.'"
Deloth: "You DO realize that my teleportation can be hazardous to life and limb and virgin shoulders with no magic tattoos on them."
Dragoshi: "Well, it was dangerous."
Aribar: "I must say, this does not sound like a very good deal thus far."
Dragoshi: "Seriously. It caused a mess."
Rinith: "And... he is?"
Digifanatic: *to Dragoshi.* "What about Caldon's teleporter?"
James Bond: "I do not fear danger." He loads his gun. "I have stolen the components to make a new device. But I need this." He points to Deloth, and takes out... a cheek swab?
Digifanatic: "Oh, DNA."
Dragoshi: *To Digi.* "Let's not mention that."
James Bond: "The DNA of Deloth will allow me to discover the secrets of teleportation, with which I will leave."
Deloth: "...Where does that swab go, first of all?"
Digifanatic: *flashes an okay sign to Dragoshi.*
James Bond: "In your mouth, in the middle of your cheek. Rubbing off some cells from there."
Keikyoku: *Looks at Bond.*
James Bond: "The Red Text only survived me because of something you apparently could beat, but not me."
Rinith: "..." .oO(What the hell)
Garrick: "...alright, but after you teleport out, we get all the tech you've stolen so far, and we get to watch you finish up the loose ends as you go. We want to be there when you port out."
James Bond: "Surely you wouldn't take your own grudges above profit. Of course you can be there."
Deloth: "You're not exactly trustworthy at the moment, mister 'I think I'll drive my car off of a cliff and watch Deloth nearly kill himself with a double teleportation.'"
Keikyoku: "So... do you have anything cool in exchange for Del's spit?"
Garrick: *stares at Kei, fuming.* "Don't you use your fucking EARS?!"
James Bond: "This is not a trust issue." He goes to hand the swab to Deloth. "This is an issue of survival."
Keikyoku: "I zone out when people talk..."
James Bond: "You will never defeat this Red Text person without the secret I stole. I stole it knowing you would need it. We can complete each other's stories without being harmed."
Garrick: "I am going to shoot you."
Digifanatic: .oO(Laaaaaaaame.)
Metal Man (GM): James Bond raises his brow.
Garrick: *looks to Bond.* "Not you, the rat."
James Bond: "Have a problem with him?" He spins his gun. "I need some target practice."
Aribar: "You have already told us that it something only we could do. What stops us from simply doing some trial and error on Red Text?"
Deloth: "SHOOT HIM."
Garrick: "Oh sweet God, please."
James Bond: "After I get the DNA."
Garrick: "Spit on the thing, Del."
Keikyoku: "Ummmm."
James Bond: "I can't be distracted, now. That would just... be bad. The last time I was distracted, I wound up here."
Deloth eagerly rubs the swab against the inside of his mouth.
Dr. Robotnik: "...On second thought, Chao are more charming anyway." *Wanders inside.*
Deloth: "Here. Promise me you won't make any clones."
James Bond: "...I promise."
Garrick: *grabs Del's wrist.*
Keikyoku: "Can you make a clone of me?"
James Bond: "Yes. Please stand still."
Aribar: .oO(This seems like a big mistake.)
Deloth: *snatched before he can hand the swab over.*
Metal Man (GM): He points his gun at Keikyoku's head.
Digifanatic: .oO(OH MY GOD CAN YOU GET SOME DUCT TAPE?!)
Deloth: "Garrick, please, we're SO CLOSE..."
Garrick: "So, we have a deal. We give you Del's DNA and let you warp out... and we'll help you do it... and you give us Red Text's secret and the warp gear?"
Keikyoku: *Hides behind Rinith.*
James Bond: "The swab, please. And yes."
Aribar: "And we get the teleporter when you're done."
Garrick: "Good. Deal is done."
James Bond: "Your help is not needed but will be appreciated."
Garrick: *lets Del hand the swap to Bond, then.* "Fire away."
Deloth hands it on over, then. "Rinith, you may want to move."
Digifanatic: *also walks out of the way.*
Metal Man (GM): He slips it in a case and then into his pocket. He smirks with the smile of a practiced killer.
Rinith: *looks down.* "Is he that bad...?"
Deloth: "Oh, for the love of crap."
Digifanatic: *also walks out of the way.* "Rinith, he's not that bad of a fighter but he doesn't know when to shut up."
Deloth: "Rinith, just MOVE. We'll explain later."
Rinith: *steps left once and closes his eyes.*
James Bond: "I dislike easy prey." He goes to Rinith. "Well, I could shoot through y..." He sees Rinith step aside.
Keikyoku: *Steps left too.*
Aribar sighs and goes into the ship. He's had enough for one day.
James Bond: "Perfect." He fires diagonally at Keikyoku.
Keikyoku: "No! I need a meatshield."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* Keikyoku takes damage. James Bond realizes he hasn't reloaded in a while.
Rinith: "A gun..."
Deloth: "Garrick, go get some rope, we'll need to tie him down."
James Bond: "Hmph." *He starts reloading.*
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku has many places to go on the island. Rinith, however, is not the ideal cover. James Bond is shooting at him from about the side.
Keikyoku: *hides in the ship.*
Deloth runs in after him.
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku runs inside and into the ship. James Bond simply walks after you... as Deloth follows him.
Rinith: *sigh.*
Keikyoku: *Locks himself in the bathroom.*
Digifanatic: *stays where he is.*
Deloth: "..."
Metal Man (GM): There is no bathroom in the ship.
Garrick: *follows as well.*
Rinith: "I am... not the best on watching the rat be shot."
James Bond: "This is... quite disagreeable." He walks into the ship, scanning the rows.
Garrick: "He can't go far. The ship is pretty much locked down."
Metal Man (GM): James Bond, master of hiding, finds Keikyoku behind a chair.
James Bond: "You can't hide to save your life."
Aribar: "You shot him once. Was any more part of the deal, Bond?"
Metal Man (GM): He misses.
Deloth: "Shut up, Ari. Our hour of justice is at hand."
James Bond: "No, but I need target practice. I just missed him, see? Although... Q Labs... gave me something more useful."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a pack of cigarettes.
Keikyoku: *Jumps over the side onto land and hides behind a big rock.*
Deloth: "...What, do they spray acid or something?"
James Bond: "No, that version went off by accident in people's pockets far too often."
Digifanatic: "It's James Bond. You may be correct."
Garrick: *stares at the smokes.* "...you... wouldn't happen to have some real ones in there, would you?"
Metal Man (GM): James Bond looks around. He sees a rock, but not the one Keikyoku hidden behind.
James Bond: "..." He tosses Garrick some... Russian cigarettes? "I stole these off of Ourumov's corpse. They're... a bit moist. He was floating in the ocean."
Garrick: "As long as they smoke..."
James Bond: "I think his pleasure cruise went terribly wrong. And now, for something explosive." He presses a button on the cigarettes.
Metal Man (GM): A cigarette is launched at a rock like a missile. The cigarette explodes, taking the rock out with it.
James Bond: "Hm. He isn't there."
Metal Man (GM): He looks again.
Deloth: "You could've just asked me, Garrick. I might have been able to find some smokes."
James Bond: "Hm." He smirks, and fires another cigarette at the rock Keikyoku is behind.
Metal Man (GM): !!! The Questers would see Keikyoku go flying, on fire, along with bits of the rock. More damage to Keikyoku.
James Bond: "This model's accuracy is a bit off."
Garrick: *pats himself down, wondering if he's got a lighter...*
James Bond: "I must have sat on it too much."
Metal Man (GM): He shakes it and takes out something else.
Keikyoku: *Hides under the ship.*
Aribar: "Would you stop attacking him? Regardless of whether he deserves it or not, you just shot off a rocket next to our only transport."
James Bond: "Yes, but it went out the window and hit a faraway rock."
Keikyoku: *Hides in some trees.*
Deloth leans over and grazes the end of Garrick's cigarette with a Fire Ele shot. "There you go."
James Bond: "Besides, you didn't ask me to be careful."
Metal Man (GM): He walks outside the ship, as Keikyoku hides in a small, devastated forest.
Garrick: *nods a thanks to Del and takes a buff, moaning softly in appreciation.*
Rinith: *just watches.* "He... is in your group right?"
Garrick: "Oh, God..it's been way too long..."
Deloth: "Not for long, Rinith. Hopefully."
James Bond: "Check... Mate." He pulls out... now where did he get that? It's a stolen GUN laser weapon! A pistol, at that...
Deloth pinches out a few smoldering strands of fur on his hand and continues watching the fun.
Rinith: *sighs.* "I'm really... not liking this..."
Garrick: "Deal with it."
Metal Man (GM): Keikyoku is hit. He is BLASTED out of the tree by a huge laser... and vanishes when he hits the ground. A strange portal closes and... he is no longer here?
James Bond: "Damn. He teleported."
Garrick: "...how could he have teleported?"
Digifanatic: "But he can't do that."
Keikyoku: "AAAAAAAH!!!!!"
James Bond: "Something to do with how you are, I would guess. I saw that strange wolf appear."
Rinith: *blinks.*
Digifanatic: "Yeah, but we needed the crystal for that."
Garrick: "But the lives system generator is long gone."
James Bond: "I think your annoyance... is in another dimension." He adjusts his tie. "Anyway, I must go to work. I will let you see it..." He walks into the ocean, pulling a mask on. "Go to the Mushroom Kingdom in a day."
Digifanatic: "Okay, somewhere familiar, that's a good sign."
James Bond: "Be late, and I might just give my technology to the one they call... Waluigi."
Garrick: "This time tomorrow. We'll be there."
James Bond: "Very well." He vanishes into the ocean, with some scuba gear.
Digifanatic: "If nothing else, this place will be more peaceful."
Garrick: "Agreed."
Deloth looks upwards. "The sky seems much brighter without him around. And a lot less nattery."
Garrick: "...well, I've got some work on this scanner to do. Maybe I can make a simple visor system with it." *heads into the ship to get to work.*
Digifanatic: "Deloth or Aribar, a quick talk please?"
Deloth: "About what?"
Digifanatic: "Well, I admit, I kinda mentioned this earlier, but I looked at Kei and saw my younger self all over again."
Aribar looks up to Digi from his seat.
Deloth: "Digi. You are past that. Trust me."
Digifanatic: "I know I am. A few years passed, Nintendus seemed to forgive and forget my old self and look at me, ten plus years since then."
Deloth: "Don't WORRY about it. If we meet him again, we'll see."
Digifanatic: "I'm not worrying, I'm just making an observation."
Rinith: "..."
Deloth turns around to Rinith. "So. Looks like you'll be with us for a while."
Digifanatic: "To make a long story short, Rinith, the concept of the Questers has been an on and off thing for more than ten years. When I was a lot younger, like half my age younger, I came across the group, but I was really bratty and immature and crap like that."
Aribar shrugs and says nothing. He goes back to writing something down.
Metal Man (GM): Thanks to Garrick, there's even a nice table for it.
Garrick: *is busy work on the scanner Samus gave him, examining it and trying to see if he could end up copying the technology.*
Metal Man (GM): The level of miniaturization is beyond Garrick's ken, but he gets some useful info out of it.
Digifanatic: "What happened after was basically a cross between resigning from the job and they were probably gonna fire me if I didn't. I almost intended on dropping the organization forever, but if nothing else, I wanted to mend all the psychological wounds."
Metal Man (GM): Basically it scans as many different things as possible. Light, infrared, radar... even a form of X-ray which doesn't give out significant radiation.
Garrick: *brings it up to his eyes and sees if he can use it without the helmet.*
Digifanatic: "So somehow, I found my way back to the group and I realized that now that I cleaned up my act, it was actually fun again."
Metal Man (GM): This version is a bit banged up. Garrick sees a little tiny wall of text you can't read.
Digifanatic: "And I've basically stuck with it ever since."
Metal Man (GM): It's like, a small projector which needs glass to project on. Robotnik walks over. Since he's a snoop.
Dr. Robotnik: "Oh ho! What's that?"
Garrick: "Nothing."
Dr. Robotnik: "It's... a very expensive looking nothing."
Garrick: "But it's still nothing. Go 'way."
Dr. Robotnik: "But if you insist. I won't use my magnifying glass to figure out how it works."
Metal Man (GM): He walks away.
Deloth grabs a few pieces of paper and begins folding some paper airplanes.
Garrick: "...dammit. Alright, it's something."
Metal Man (GM): He turns around.
Deloth: "Whatcha doing, Ari?"
Garrick: *you'd think that a minor magnifying glass would be in his toolkit he had.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Very well." He takes out a specialized magnifying glass. "See... you and I shouldn't trust one another, but a scanning device could help fix... misunderstandings... and... pay for... certain costs involved fixing the ship you're in the first time."
Metal Man (GM): The magnifying glass he has is... electronic. It highlights the circuitry. It's still a bit small. This is some really small stuff.
Dr. Robotnik: "Hm? Maybe that airhead was right! This is... incredibly small."
Garrick: "...yeah... yeah, well... do you blame me?"
Metal Man (GM): He highlights the text. It says 'Please connect to a visor.'
Garrick: "Duh. It's microfiber."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well. you have a visor?"
Metal Man (GM): Speaking of visors, Metal Man's helmet is still hanging around in your inventory somewhere...
Garrick: *doesn't know that.* "Not on me, but I can probably find something that does the trick... hold on..." *digs around in his box of stuff.*
Metal Man (GM): But, he doesn't know Garrick needs it yet. Rinith would see that most people have gone inside and are now fiddling with... machines. Or Aribar, who is writing.
Aribar is looking up at Del. "Just trying to think of something."
Garrick: "...hm... iron frame... motherboard... hinge... ball bearing... rubber duck..."
Dr. Robotnik: "Rubber ducks are always important."
Rinith: *follows...*
Deloth: "And that something would be what?"
Garrick: "You can put a bomb or camera in anything."
Digifanatic: *not really fiddling with anything but he's just looking for space to relax right now.*
Metal Man (GM): Rinith would see that the elf is busy writing, maybe he would know what's going on.
Dr. Robotnik: "Yes."
Aribar: "I am trying to think of what we would need to construct our own base."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well... let me get some kind of glass device for this visor."
Garrick: *keeps digging.* "Dammit, I know I found some goggles somewhere in that heap..."
Rinith: *takes a seat for now.* "What are you writing?"
Metal Man (GM): He finds part of a windshield. He takes it over.
Dr. Robotnik: "This isn't... ideal, but I found it. You find anything?"
Metal Man (GM): Garrick looks, and lo and behold... a helmet from a GF soldier is in the wreckage the Questers took!
Aribar: "However, depending on-oh, greetings. I am attempting to think of ways for us to create and run a base to operate out of. In the past we used to work out of one for all of our missions, but we have been without one for a long time."
Garrick: "Hey hey. This should do it."
Dr. Robotnik: "Oh... you took some wreckage from those GF people? Genius move."
Garrick: *brings it over, getting a heat knife from his tool shelf as well.*
Aribar: "However, with our lack of money and manpower, and the potential destruction of this planet, I don't entirely see how it would be feasible to run one."
Dr. Robotnik: "Now we won't have to look at stretched text."
Metal Man (GM): There's a slot in it for a scanner.
Garrick: "You know, back before all this, I used to be as smart as you."
Metal Man (GM): It's a standard GF tool, apparently.
Garrick: *makes to fit the scanner onto the helmet, clipping it in place, then placing the helmet on his head.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Well. I'm sure we can find some way to make up for your lost intelligence." He pats Garrick on the shoulder. "It would be fun to have someone of my intellectual equal as a rival." He conveniently leaves out Tails.
Garrick: "I'd give my the three littlest toes of my right foot to get NOVA back... Alright, let's see here..."
Dr. Robotnik: "If only I knew what NOVA was." He shrugs, knowing it's another dimensional thing.
Metal Man (GM): The helmet glows.
Rinith: "So I take it... stuff like this has been going on for a long time."
Metal Man (GM): There's a button outside the helmet. Holding it is used to scan whatever one is looking at.
Garrick: *p-p-p-press and hold and look at Robotnik.*
Helmet: 'Overweight male hominid wearing unusual clothes. Grooms facial hair in a strange manner. High amount of gadgets. Likely a scientist.'
Aribar: "We've been fighting people and having odd people turn up and lots of other stuff for a very long time."
Metal Man (GM): That's all in text, of course. No speech.
Digifanatic: *probably not where Aribar and company are right now.*
Garrick: "...well, it works well enough... hmmm... scan for likely energy sources."
Rinith: "If only I did not feel weaker here some how..."
Metal Man (GM): It doesn't respond to the voice command. The only control input is... the button. Which Garrick has still held down.
Garrick: "Hmm." *lets it up.*
Deloth: "I think something about the warping took away our strength. I was the same way. You'll get more powerful."
Metal Man (GM): The scanner mode turns off when one lets go.
Garrick: *aims it at Deloth this time, scanning him.*
Helmet: 'Xenomorphic interdimensional outsider lifeform. DANGER: Highly Xenomorphic. Unknown energy signature detected.' It shows the outline of a man who is taller around Deloth. A blue shape.
Metal Man (GM): One can scan the outline separately.
Garrick: *frowns and does so.*
Helmet: '??? Unknown ascended being. Energy levels are high. Is using Xenomorphic being as a host due to inability to interface with matter directly.'
Garrick: "...well, at the very least, it can give us some basic data." *releases the button and takes the helmet off.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Well. It sounds like a little reverse engineering and... helmets... and all of you could have one of those. Or I could try to direct order some... for a price."
Garrick: "And it gives us a starting point."
Deloth looks up at Garrick. "That the scanner?"
Garrick: "We can improve upon this... yeah. It's really basic, though. I probably won't go for a full helmet, though. Maybe some kind of glasses or visor. Or a single eye deal."
Rinith: "So it... tells you things, like what?"
Deloth: "Try it on him." *motions to Rinith.*
Garrick: "Basic data about the target, at the moment."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, I leave you to your work. Oh. And keep this." He hands you the electronic scanner. "I didn't know you'd need it."
Digifanatic: *Nothing going on--he walks over to the rest of them.*
Rinith: "Please don't..."
Digifanatic: "Don't what?"
Garrick: *takes it, nodding.* "Awesome. I'll put it to good use."
Dr. Robotnik: "The information you've found already adds to the many new things I have seen. Oh. I'll be there to see this 'James Bond' too... this warp device." He frowns. "We'll need to dismantle it and my last remaining warp device, along with Red Text's."
Garrick: "Right..."
Dr. Robotnik: "Now, I must get... to work!"
Metal Man (GM): He walks off.
Garrick: "And me. Back to the grind."
Digifanatic: "See ya, Garrick."
Deloth: *tossing a paper airplane around.* "So where are you from, Rinith?"
Garrick: *will be at his little workbench in the corner, trying to work on this scanner and get something more out of it than basic data.*
Digifanatic: *once again, just listens for now.*
Metal Man (GM): Robotnik's in his lab, wiring something up.
Aribar: "I'll be right back." *The half-elf gets up and hurries after Robotnik.* "Dr. Robotnik, I've something to ask you."
Rinith: "Where I'm from? how specific do you want me to get...?"
Deloth shrugs. "Whatever you want to say, I guess. Not like I can do much with the information even if I do get it."
Dr. Robotnik: "Yes?"
Aribar: "Robotnik, a while ago I believe you offered a few spells. I've been wondering if you still have the books for them and if I could buy them."
Rinith: "Well... I was but a simple farmers boy at one time... I'm not sure how more detailed I can get where I was from though."
Deloth raises an eyebrow at the idea of a giant wolf being a farmer's apprentice, but hey. Pot, kettle, all that.
Dr. Robotnik: "Activate and Panel, and... another one. You want all of them?"
Aribar: "I have ten coins and an old sword to barter with. Panel sounds useful, but do you happen to remember the last one?"
Deloth: "I figured you'd be in a bit more of a physical profession."
Dr. Robotnik: "Activate is only 2 coins per (mission), while Panel will set you back 5 per (mission)." *checks his bookshelf.* "Oh, I miscounted. I only have those two."
Rinith: "It was my family's way through life until they were all killed, and farming is hard work."
Digifanatic: "...huh."
Aribar: "I will take Activate. Later on when I have more money I shall try to procure Panel."
Dr. Robotnik: "Very well." He hands you the book. "Good luck."
Deloth: *Uh-oh, family slaughter. We're heading on thin ice here...* "Uh, if you don't mind my asking... what happened to your family?"
Rinith: "Burned and probably raped." *he says this with a colder then normal voice, but his face don't really change much."
Digifanatic: "Serial killer or rival village?"
Rinith: "Total War I think, happened to a lot of people."
Aribar takes the book and buries himself in it. He doesn't even say goodbye to Robotnik a he heads back to the ship.
Digifanatic: "Oh, well, that's hard, man. It just seems like an inevitable problem at that point." *sighs.*
Rinith: "That was years ago, after that I have just traveled around a lot, I got a knack for magic at least."
Deloth stays silent, as he can't really think of an answer that wouldn't make things even worse at this point.
Digifanatic: "Magic, that's cool... We've got a few here that like using spells."
Rinith: *looks to Deloth.* "Don't worry, for how it happened... it's nothing really at this point, besides maybe coming here was a good thing."
Deloth nods and takes out the dark sword crystal again, looking it over. "I should probably be finding a more careful storage method for this thing than just shifting it into myself."
Digifanatic: "Ah, yeah..."
Deloth: "I didn't show you that, did I? New way to keep an item secure and hidden."
Rinith: *blinks.*
Deloth puts the crystal against his arm and snaps a fold of skin over it, internalizing it. "Ta-da." He then opens up his arm and takes it back out. Ewww. "Of course, the key is to keep the nerves and muscles and blood vessels and such out of the way. Otherwise you could wind up slitting your wrists from the inside, and nobody wants that."
Rinith: "That is... new."
Deloth: "But, unfortunately, this looks like the best option for keeping it safe and secure for now." *puts it back in and closes up the skin.*
Digifanatic: "Well, I guess our conversation's over... don't think there's anything much else interesting to talk about."
Deloth: "I'm going to go see if I can find something to occupy myself while everyone else falls asleep. TV's horrible at that time of night."
Rinith: "What should I expect other then random rats being shot by odd men and other odd people building scanners out of an outer space dwelling lady's technology and some random portals."
Digifanatic: "Anything."
Deloth: "'Fun With Dirt', 'The Volcano Worshiper's Hour', 'Wheel of Phlegm'... it's like they're TRYING to drive people away from their sets."
Digifanatic: "Seriously... we've probably only traveled a small fraction of this planet."
Rinith: *closes his eyes.* "I see."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds... what is this? "Continia's worst Disasters." It's the spiritual sequel to Toad Town Tornado Terrorwatch!
Digifanatic: "This group has basically been a living, breathing billboard of expecting the unexpected..."
Deloth: *He'll pass. He scans for other shows.* *muttering.* "You'd think Toad Town would get a break once in a while... this looks interesting."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth finds... 'Thunderwall' Starring... 'James Bond'???? ...That jerk. He had some movies made of himself.
Deloth: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth sees him dramatically crushing the ankle of someone who looks like Jack.
Deloth SLAMS the book back into the shelf... what else...
Digifanatic: "Hm... Rinith, any more questions?"
Rinith: "No... I am guessing me flying in to your world in mid day nap should be all I need to know with what you told me..."
Deloth: *Looks for other media to watch.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth sees one labeled "Dr. Robotnik's Ultimate Adventure." It's an unpublished novel Robotnik must have written.
Deloth: *Anything else that's GOOD?*
Metal Man (GM): It opens with "It was a rainy night as the AMAZING Dr. Robotnik saved the world again, by DESTROYING the wildlife with a GIANT LASER." Then Deloth finds a dictionary. Half the pages have been ripped out.
Deloth sighs and grabs "Continia's Worst Disasters."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth begins reading, and sees a page about a disaster where the city was flooded with molasses.
Rinith: ... "Hmmm... perhaps I can spar with one of you to see how... much I've weakened. I take it most of you can beat me anyway."
Digifanatic: "Well, it'd be kind of nice actually, but we haven't tried that since we wound up here. I'm not sure if we'll be healed properly before we head out tomorrow, depending on who finds us."
Rinith: "What did I fly out of anyway...?"
Digifanatic: "That little crystal Deloth has, I believe. But I think he's elsewhere and probably wants some privacy right now."
