Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 37: Bond's Secret Service
January 23rd & 24th, 2009.
Metal Man (GM): James Bond has made a deal with the Questers, to give him Deloth's DNA in exchange for him telling them something important about Red Text. Also for killing Keikyoku. He did his best in that aspect, as Keikyoku is no longer around. Although probably not dead. We return to the group as they've just landed in the Mushroom Kingdom. James Bond has created a large teleportation device, with help from... well, who helps him? There is another person with him, maybe someone should take a look. The ship has landed. The Questers are in a rather small plaza in the center of a little garden, in front of Peach's Castle.
Digifanatic: .oO(Bond doing business with Mario? Might be interesting.)
Aribar exits the ship and looks about. If James Bond is nearby, the half-elf keeps a hand on the hilt of his sword. He doesn't draw it, though. At least, not yet.
Dragoshi: *Proceeds to exit the ship and glance around the general area. A-yep.*
Rinith: *seems to be in a bit of a state of meditation at the moment.
Digifanatic: *heads out and takes a look.*
Metal Man (GM): It's near Toad Town. James Bond is almost done.
James Bond: "With the help of this scientist, the teleporter is nearly done. It's unfortunate that Q didn't come with me, though--this one has a rough touch."
Aribar: "Who is the scientist?"
E Gadd: "Vatta vatta! My work should do fine enough. Ehehehehe."
Metal Man (GM): There's an old man with swirly glasses and one strip of hair, and a nametag: "E. Gadd."
E. Gadd: "The being whose DNA you brought me is vaguely incorporeal, like the ghosts I studied! Yet unlike them, he is dead in a different way--he is not fully in our dimension! So if one creates a large field made of his DNA, they create a bizarre... fabric... which, if bent, rips holes in space-time!"
James Bond: "It would be a lot easier to just clone him and use his clone as a teleporter, but... you said no clones, and this doctor doesn't know what clones are. Silent, eh? Well, I guess it's for the better."
Metal Man (GM): He begins to fire up the machine.
James Bond: "Your DNA has helped me, so I'll give you what you want, once I'm sure you're listening carefully. I know the linchpin which prevents anyone, even me, from destroying this... Red Text."
Aribar frowns. He does not like the fact that they're ripping holes in reality, but the half-elf doubts that anyone will listen to his complaints.
Dragoshi: *Just stands back and listens. A-yep.*
James Bond: "It's quite simple, really." He takes out a device. "He's been privy to some strange process which holds this entire planet together."
James Bond: "Whenever someone goes to attack him, he is defended by the same energy which is keeping this planet together. Think a force field of unending power."
Rinith: *overhears this whilst walking out of the ship.* "..."
James Bond: "He told me something about how I could 'never destroy his temples of power' but I figured it was a figure of speech."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I knew there was always some loophole to the guy."
Aribar: .oO(The more I hear about the Red Text, the less I want to kill him.)
James Bond: "Well, there you have it." He looks over his shoulder. "Just toss a few grenades in whatever is giving him access to this force and you should be able to kill him for good."
Aribar: "And probably destroy this planet."
James Bond: "I don't care, myself. I've determined he only messed with Trevelyan and Ourumov. Two people who already died. How he revived them and sent them here is beyond me, but everything they used was something I knew I had destroyed to begin with. But when you have the energy of a force meant to protect a planet in your hands... why... my guess is he only refrains from killing us because there's something out of his reach."
Aribar: "You know Trevelyan?"
E. Gadd: "The portal is ready! Eheheheh." He fires it up. ...It slowly begins to turn on... very slowly.
James Bond: "Why, yes. I pushed him off a satellite dish to his death. A Leinz Cossack traitor. So bad even the KGB didn't care for him in the end. Ourumov died in a train-related accident. He was tricked."
Digifanatic: "I see."
E. Gadd: "It will be a few minutes."
James Bond: "Well, that shouldn't be a problem."
Aribar frowns. Typically they've ran into a set of good people and bad people from other places. Why did both Trevelyan and Bond seem like the 'bad guys'?
Metal Man (GM): The radios beep.
Digifanatic: *takes his out.* "Hello?"
Galactic Federation Person: "We're attacking Red Text now."
Metal Man (GM): There is a giant explosion in the sky.
Aribar takes his out and his frown deepens as he hears the news.
James Bond: "What was that?"
Rinith: "Wait... if they do deal enough damage to his shield... what effects would that have on us?"
Digifanatic: "An ally of ours."
Galactic Federation Person: "...This is strange... what the... *KZHTHZT*"
Metal Man (GM): There's a giant red laser, and then some more explosions.
Digifanatic: "They're trying to attack Red Text, but..." *pockets.* "Uh oh. I was gonna say, they had no idea about that forcefield."
James Bond: "Someone tried to attack him with more than a single person." He shakes his head. "A regrettable waste. I should have told you of that large weapon he uses."
Metal Man (GM): The warp device is nearly up and running.
Aribar: "What else do you have to tell us?"
James Bond: "Something like the Goldeneye I destroyed. A giant EMP device, only with a laser added. Perhaps that is why my foes from that time period were resurrected."
Metal Man (GM): He glances over the Questers' shoulder, sees something he doesn't like... and shoots something behind them.
???: "GAH!" *Collapse.*
James Bond: "I daresay. The Red Text is getting sloppy."
Aribar unsheathes Sunlight, but keeps facing Bond.
Dragoshi: "..." *Checks to see who the heck Bond just shot.*
Metal Man (GM): There's one of Eggman's robots, only it has all-red pupils.
James Bond: "I think we've angered him."
James Bond: "There will be more coming."
Rinith: "... great."
James Bond: "...Mind turning that ship around to defend one side of the teleport?"
James Bond: "I will take the other side."
Digifanatic: *heads into the ship to try to do so.*
Dragoshi: "Huh? Oh. Sure." *Does that.*
Metal Man (GM): He walks over. He switches out his PPK for an assault rifle. Row upon row of robots are appearing... better man the turrets!
Aribar: "I think there is a reason they want to destroy this teleportation device. Ripping holes in the space-time don't exactly seem good for an already double-doomed world."
James Bond: "Well then, I have news for you." *BAMBAMBAMBAM* "This entire world is an unstable hole in space-time."
Dragoshi: *Mans the turrets and makes with the PEW PEW!*
James Bond: "And as long as that person is using that field... the entire planet could explode if he fires too many shots."
Metal Man (GM): Dragoshi sees the first wave of Eggrobos. He fire holes in Peach's Castle.
Digifanatic: *Checks if he completely turned the ship around.*
Metal Man (GM): Yes.
Aribar doesn't board the ship. He simply stands back from the battle and would only attack robots going towards Toad Town or Peach's castle.
Rinith: "And... what do you guys expect me to do then?" *Guards the ship.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi takes out two robots from a 5-robot wave with turret fire. 3 robots walk into range of Aribar and Rinith. They're relatively weak but numerous Egg Pawns.
Aribar holds out his sword in case they get close, but otherwise he does not attack them.
Rinith: *Attacks defensively twice, swinging the swords around.*
Metal Man (GM): Two robots go down; one remains, as it reaches the portal. The robots don't attack the Questers so to speak, but rather, the portal.
Aribar would attempt to stop it if the robot went in, but otherwise does nothing.
Metal Man (GM): James Bond notices the robot shooting at the portal.
James Bond: "You know, if you really don't want to help me, you could just go away." He turns around and fires on the robot which got through.
Metal Man (GM): The robot is blasted to pieces. ...Next up is a robot riding an armored transport carrier!
Dragoshi: *Also, he shoots at the robot riding the carrier. Yeah.*
Metal Man (GM): The carrier is riddled with holes. It streams in, smoking, towards Rinith and Aribar. It threatens to run Aribar over entirely.
Rinith: *attempts to use twilight blast on the carrier as he spies it's course towards Aribar.*
Aribar gets out of the way of the carrier. At the risk of everyone being mad at the mage, he is tired of fighting the Red Text.
Metal Man (GM): Carrier is hit once more. Deloth awakens to see the following: A large car-like vehicle driving at a portal, Aribar trying to dodge it so it can go through, and James Bond shooting blood-red Egg Pawns. It avoids Aribar. Then it misses its target as well.
Deloth: "...What the hell happened here?!"
James Bond: "Hmph. A lot of help you are."
Metal Man (GM): James Bond aims at Aribar! He walks towards the portal.
Deloth just bum-rushes the portal. No time to think, just act!
Aribar is shot by Bond, but tries to accept it without too much of an outcry. However, the mage turns to face Bond and returns fire! Bolts of lightning, fire, ice, earth, and wood slam into 007. (Ele x 5)
Dragoshi: "...Dammit, Ari! Couldn't you have chosen a better time to have a fall from grace!?"
Metal Man (GM): Bond takes the hit. He gets up and almost makes a movement, when he hears Dragoshi say what he just did.
James Bond: "You're one messed-up person." The portal opens and he walks into it. "But I think my response will do."
Metal Man (GM): The portal closes...
Metal Man (GM): ...Then violently explodes. With Aribar next to it... and Rinith.
E. Gadd: "Gahhh!!!"
Aribar casts Rejoin!
Dragoshi: "..." *Winces.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar warps into the ship. Rinith is knocked over and set on fire... and then suddenly all the action is over. Bond is gone, E. Gadd is KO'd... and Rinith mildly burned.
Rinith: "Gah!!" *rolls to put out the damn fire.*
Dragoshi: *Looks at Rinith.* "...Yeah, good idea." >_>;
Metal Man (GM): Rinith puts out the fire on him.
Aribar sheaths Sunlight and sighs.
Rinith: *gets up, not feeling good after that.* "I... hate... fire."
Deloth: *panting.* "Dammit... what the hell happened here?! Why was Bond firing at us AGAIN?!"
Dragoshi: "Not at us. Only at Aribar."
Deloth: "Why HIM?"
Aribar just stands by and listens.
Dragoshi: "And mainly because Aribar chose a bad time to not be of any help whatsoever, even going as far as to attack Bond."
Rinith: *sighs, and sits down where hes at to meditate.*
Digifanatic: "I'm not really sure why Ari wanted to go for Bond."
Deloth: *calmly.* "Ari. Might I ask why?"
Aribar: "I attacked Bond because he attacked me; it is 'an eye for an eye', but I do not trust that man at all."
Deloth: "...Alright, so, lemme guess. By giving him my DNA, I screwed up. Again."
Dragoshi: "Well, he only attacked you because all you did was stand around there like a lump!"
Aribar: "I am tired of fighting the Red Text. I will admit that choosing stagnation on a battle field is not the most responsible plan, but... We know so little about him, and what will happen if he dies?"
Dragoshi: "...I suppose so, but... I was planning to off him after that other problem was dealt with. Seeing as we'd pretty much have no use for him after that." :/
Deloth: "...As for my question..."
Aribar: "You did nothing wrong, Deloth."
Deloth: "Except, uh... induce a firefight, get Ari shot full of holes, and probably cause some disaster that'll take a MILE of duct tape to fix."
Aribar: "I accept full responsibility for my act... Lack of action."
Digifanatic: "Listen... if you are given no idea whatsoever of any questionable results that come from your actions, you cannot fault yourself for anything."
Deloth: "I gave a known psychopath with a British accent a cheek swab. That should have probably clued me in earlier. ...on the other hand, it DID get Keikyoku killed. I feel better."
Rinith: "He didn't die... at least, HE looked alive enough when he fell..."
Digifanatic: .oO(Bond? Psychopath? Meh...)
Dragoshi: "Well, he's out of our hair. And I believe that's what matters."
Digifanatic: "Aribar? You remember the part about Red Text engaging in a fair fight with us after his seven challenges? I presume that when it comes time, he'll gladly back all his energy and let the planet work itself out with him completely out of the picture."
Deloth: "Right, so... what now?"
Rinith: "If you do what he says, who says he wont have some... greater power?"
Aribar: "He said that he wanted to protect the planet and that we were in his way. He said that he will challenge us to a fair fight. He controls the energy keeping this planet together. He's amassing the energy to levels it will explode. He's fighting that dark meteor. He has indirectly attacked Continia. I do not know what to think of Red Text."
Rinith: *closes his eyes and thinks on all that.*
Digifanatic: "Yes, but at least it sounds like if he gets killed, he knows the place to leave his energy behind so it can keep the planet safe. Wouldn't be surprised if it was like where that shrine is and all. So who wants to head back to Robotnik's base?"
Deloth: "Uh, before we do, another question."
Deloth: "Did anybody notice what I was doing before I came up on deck and witnessed all this?"
Aribar shakes his head.
Digifanatic: "No. Why?"
Deloth: "I feel like I fell asleep. That... that doesn't make sense."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, you said the bit before about how you shouldn't be falling asleep. Maybe you still have a bit of dragon left in you. Did you feel like you had subconsciously transformed back to your previous form and then back?"
Deloth: "I can't really see how that'd affect anything in the equation."
Digifanatic: "Well, the dragon genes are obviously somewhat different than your current genes and maybe they'd temporarily override some of your characteristics."
Deloth: "I don't think the shifting goes THAT far..."
Digifanatic: "Oh. Of course, I'm shooting from the hip."
Deloth: "No prob."
Digifanatic: "If you'd like, you can hang out up here with the rest of us while we head back to the base. If you feel like it's coming on again, let us know or maybe someone will just notice anyway."
Deloth: "I'm more worried about the guy that does Grand Theft Me every so often."
Digifanatic: "Ahhhh yes. Well, I'm about to start the ship up again. Just stay cool for now and we'll keep an eye on you if we have to."
Aribar wonders if Deloth's possessed self will attack his treasonous self.
Digifanatic: *re-cranks the ship and gets it rolling back to base.*
Deloth: "...He's definitely talented. I tried every detection method I could think of and nothing seems to work."
Rinith: *gets in the ship first I hope.*
Deloth: "Of course, I only know two and both were from the same source, so..."
Deloth: "Damn good teacher, though."
Rinith: "You're... randomly possessed?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah. We don't know who, when, or why Deloth was picked."
Deloth: "What about when I went crazy? Mental defenses are lowest when someone's not in their right mind."
Digifanatic: "Rinith is curious about you being possessed. I'm just telling him we honestly know next to nothing about it."
Deloth holds up his hands. "Wasn't trying to attack you, just raising a theory."
Digifanatic: "I know, I'm just bringing him up to speed."
Rinith: *leans against a wall and looks out the window.* "Well, I'm not dreaming... if only I had my sword and bird back I'd be happier about that."
Deloth: "You had a BIRD?"
Rinith: *blinks.* "Yeah, a snowy owl."
Deloth: "...For what? Rations?"
Deloth: "Then what?"
Rinith: "My eyes in the sky."
Deloth blinks. "...How did you manage to communicate?"
Rinith: "Owls are smart, I raised her from a near hatchling, took two years."
Deloth: "That doesn't answer my question."
Rinith: "She under stood basic commands and even had a bit of a grasp on basic communication, not an ordinary animal really."
Deloth: "...Huh. Weird."
Rinith: *closes his eyes and continues leaning on the wall "A familiar of sorts."
Deloth: "Only thing I've ever really used birds for is food."
Metal Man (GM): A few hours later... the group is now in a mostly empty little field in front of Peach's castle. Fire and a small crater is all that remains of the warp. The ship the Questers use is also there... and a charred-looking E. Gadd.
Deloth: "So... what now?"
Metal Man (GM): E. Gadd gets up.
Aribar stands behind the others. The half-elf doesn't quite feel safe voicing any opinions or comments at the moment.
Garrick: *is currently off to the side, swearing like a sailor.* "Mother *CENSORED* *CENSORED* *CENSORED* and a bucket of *CENSORED* *CENSORED*!"
Dragoshi: *Is just... silent.* :/
E. Gadd: "Ah. You must be surprised at how this came out. James Bond was apparently not who he told me he was. But you young people can help me."
Digifanatic: "I am listening..."
Deloth: "NO. NO MORE. I JUST WANT THIS ALL TO STOP."
Dragoshi: *Oh so very silent. And looking at the mess that resulted from the explosion. And then he breaks his silence.* "We... should probably put out the fire first. Anyone got a hose? ...Or a bucket of water?"
Metal Man (GM): There's a fire extinguisher inside your ship.
Garrick: "For the love of GOD, why is it always the SAME BLOODY THING?! We never have a fucking CLUE?!"
Dragoshi: *Gets the extinguisher and puts out the fire.*
Digifanatic: .oO(Why is nobody complaining about all this crap until this place?!)
Aribar: "Bond gave the Questers a clue. He told you how to kill Red Text."
E. Gadd: "Why, young fellow, it's because what that fake agent man said." He points to the sky. "That Red Text fellow has a very powerful resource. You should have whooped him by now! Besides, I don't see any use crying over this." He points to the crater. "That was supposed to explode! Warp technology's a big mess. The only thing I didn't plan on was that feller hitting the fake agent man." He points to Aribar. "But it's all gone now." He starts burying the fires in dirt.
Aribar explains once more while looking towards the ground, "It was solely in self defense."
Garrick: "If the case was to just shoot down the damned satellite, then we'd do it, but we can't blast it with a rocket, and the last time we went UP there, he locked us down and we had to just run."
E. Gadd: "You guys can keep complaining, it won't bother me." He starts sweeping. "My research about ancient temples which line the planet are just theory, after all."
Deloth: "I say we just take a day off and just let our nerves untwist a bit... Everybody hates everybody else right now and I really think our performance suffers because of it."
E. Gadd: "Ah, but see." He looks at his watch. "The energy, or so I hear, will blow the planet up in that sort of time. I don't know, though." He shrugs. "I'm just an old man with pages of calculations."
Garrick: "...alright, alright."
Digifanatic: "Oh, for..."
Aribar: .oO(We should find a way to communicate with Red Text.)
Garrick: "WHAT about these ancient temples? What can they do?!"
Digifanatic: *that was aimed at Gadd.*
E. Gadd: "Well, they appear to have been made by an ancient civilization of some sort! Luigi went an' checked some out for me, and then vanished." He shrugs. "Luigi never was the best at dodging traps."
Garrick: "Don't care what they were made by, what do they do?"
E. Gadd: "Why, it appears they all have magical self-healing machinery, and they've all started glowing weird since this whole Red Text feller went bonkers. I can't say I know, but they seem to be a part of this old Text guy's plan."
Aribar: "This wasn't an ancient temple guarding a powerful magic spell capable of controlling the elements, was it?" controlling.*
E. Gadd: "Ehhh. I reckon at least one of them could be. Too many to speak of."
Deloth: *facepalming.* "So we have to go to all of them."
E. Gadd: "Yeppers. All 50 of them!" He laughs and shakes his head.
E. Gadd: "No, they are just little bits of nodes, like. Raisins in a muffin. Visiting them may or may not include finding ancient, long-lost information about powerful spells. But it sure won't make them stop operating like nodes. To be honest, I have no clue what to do." He points at another object in the sky. "That big black thing could hit any moment, too."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers' radios beep again.
Digifanatic: *picks it up.* "Yes?"
Aribar picks it up and hopes it is Red Text.
E. Gadd: "Gah! My self destruction bomb!" *Leaps into crater.* "...Oh."
Marley: "You guys should come down here to GUN HQ. We just got a hold of Jack. He's told us the whoooole story with Red Text... and that means your help is needed. Oh, and if you find a man with a tuxedo and a gun, kill him."
Digifanatic: *does not say ANYTHING about that last sentence.* "Okay then, we'll be there as soon as possible."
Marley: "See ya. Marley, over and out." *Click.*
Aribar heads to the ship and steps inside.
Digifanatic: *enter ship and is ready to book it out of here.*
Dragoshi: *Enters the ship, as per usual.*
E. Gadd: "No explosion? Gah... I be fangled. Well, I'll see you whippersnappers soon. Remember, now is the time to make shirts that say 'I was there for the Apocalypse!'."
Metal Man (GM): He chuckles and wanders off. One would half wonder exactly HOW senile that man is. The Questers would reflect on what happened: Anyone who would build a portal for Bond would have to have been senile to begin with, especially to stand next to it while knowing it'd explode. Weird. But Bond is now gone, and the Questers are flying to the Mobian continent.
Digifanatic: "You know what? Let's just head back to Mobius!"
Metal Man (GM): It'll take a moment, however...
Aribar just stays seated in a chair. He wonders if Bond was the one Marley was talking about and, if so, why the GUN commander wanted him dead.
Metal Man (GM): The ship is silent as the Questers reach half-way to Mobius. It's all very quiet.
Digifanatic: "If nobody wants to make conversation, that's fine..."
Aribar continues to say nothing. He still thinks that everyone is mad at him.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers are now over the continent of Mobius. They see GUN HQ and a place to land. Then they land. It's a bit of a weird fit, and the Questers are atop the skyscraper.
Aribar would follow the others into the building.
Digifanatic: *heads out and walks in.*
Metal Man (GM): Marley is there, with an injured Jack.
Marley: "About time you got here. Now Jack, wasn't it much better to tell me what happened?"
Jack: "I would have gotten away had that Agent not crushed my wrist and hurled my communicator into the ocean. ...Er... ankle."
Marley: "Yes. It's a shame, really. Also how you hid all your wealth, so I can't sue you for what you did either..."
Jack: "Enough of your babbling." He looks up at the sky, through a window. "I'm only saying this because Red Text said he'd cut me loose if I lost my communicator again. That, and it was obvious he wanted me dead when he conveniently made it so James Bond would chase me, not him. Judging from the weird news I've heard, James Bond not only found the communicator but reverse-engineered it."
Metal Man (GM): He laughs slowly.
Jack: "We are all so very screwed."
Digifanatic: "Well, he isn't on this planet anymore."
Jack: "Red Text is using a line of ancient temples to control the planet's energy. He is using it to combat... the giant Dark being thing's ship. But there's an issue. The amount of power he's using and will need to use to one-hit destroy that mess will also eradicate all life on this planet. ...If that's not bad enough, the Dark thing's gonna send everything it has in an attempt to get through very soon, which will then alternatively have the planet slowly destabilize and be rained on by flaming metal or he saves his energy and an intact world is then attacked by D-cell virus. They're at a stalemate. All I can say is you failed to swing things very far either way, Questers."
Digifanatic: "Okay, is it possible to get rid of the ship in more than one hit and save as much of this planet as possible?"
Dragoshi: "Which fails to surprise me in the slightest." :/
Deloth looks up from where he was about to hack at his wrists with his sword. "What are we talking about again?"
Jack: "What you did, however, is the key to finishing this mess. You see, your antics with James Bond led him to make a nice big hole for you. He said something about 'It was so easy to make a hole in both sides' plans I thought I'd leave it to those novices to finish my job for me.' The surprising thing is he did this while I was being held here, after I had lost the communicator. He had some change of heart, for, earlier, he tried to kill me."
Metal Man (GM): He shakes his head.
Jack: "THIS is all you need to know."
Metal Man (GM): He tosses two files, both written on British intelligence standard paper. One says 'Red Text' and the other says 'Darkness.'
Jack: "It has the information needed to destroy one, but not both."
Dragoshi: *Catches them both. Hands the Red Text one over to Digi.*
Jack: "There's not enough time to do both."
Dragoshi: *Then proceeds to read the 'Darkness' one.*
Jack: "And you'll need help from the other to destroy them."
Metal Man (GM): Darkness one: It highlights that Red Text's laser idea can be replaced with James Bond or similar class agent/mercenaries taking out the dark meteor by hand, by boarding it.
Metal Man (GM): How would one do this? Help from Red Text to break in. Red Text one: It highlights that the force field is the center of the temple energy matrix. Going up there and delivering a powerful attack would inspire aid from the Dark Meteor, which in turn would crush Red Text. Unlike the Galactic Federation, a small group of people/agents could subtly damage it.
Aribar looks over Dragosi's shoulder to read the Darkness one.
Jack: "Now of course. There is a third plan." He laughs, as if it's entirely insane.
Metal Man (GM): It has 'Robotnik' listed on it.
Digifanatic: "Okay, my idea says get rid of the Text's forcefield with a sneak physical attack. What about you, Drago?"
Jack: "He sent this after he independently discovered the same information James Bond had. Although he also figured out something weird on his own... It's the most insane thing I've read, but. In the interest of fairness, I give it to you."
Deloth: "I say we evacuate the planet instead. It'd be easier."
Metal Man (GM): He flips open the Robotnik one. It shows Robotnik's perspective. 'Both the Red Text and Dark Meteor are evil. Therefore the Meteor is to be drawn into direct contact with the Red Text ship. Then, before Red Text is to use full power--a large, well-placed explosion or other obstacle will disrupt his energy transmission... causing Red Text to explode, which in turn will blow up the Dark Meteor. Mostly.'
Digifanatic: "Deloth, as in just ditch this place for some other planet and screw everyone else?"
Deloth: "No, I mean get everyone off of it."
Jack: "I like this idea this guy has." He points to Deloth.
Deloth: "And don't tempt me."
Digifanatic: "A) That'll probably take way too long, and B) we don't know how many continents there are here."
Metal Man (GM): Robotnik's plan's caveat is... 'Support must be made to properly build the Eggman Empire space force prior to this.'
Marley: "There's lots of options, but those give you your choices."
Jack: "Oh. Also, the Third Test is over. It was Bond."
Dragoshi: *Hands Digi the 'Darkness' file, seeing as he doesn't know how to properly word it at the moment.* :V
Jack: "Think you're lucky. Bond is good, but dislikes competition. Had you been in his way too much you might have all died."
Aribar looks over Robotnik's plan. He wonders what must be done to mobilize is forces. He wonders if the Galactic Federation can send any more troops.
Digifanatic: *reads that one as well.*
Jack: "This... is... only the fourth test though. I fear what the other three will be, if this one can be survived."
Digifanatic: "And if we kill Red Text, will there even BE a fifth test?!"
Dragoshi: "This just piques my curiosity, in all honesty."
Deloth just turns around and makes to leave downstairs. Out of the building.
Digifanatic: "So someone either has to board the meteor and blow it up on the surface, or we need to get inside Red Text's satellite and hack away at his forcefield without him knowing about it... Now, we can teleport into Red Text's base, right? We have that teleporter, I think..."
Dragoshi: "Or we need to support Robotnik in his building of his Empire's space force. Tough choice."
Digifanatic: "I'd rather not support Robotnik."
Aribar: "If you recall, Samus Aran said that she has dealt with threats similar to the Darkness before. She could be used to attack the meteor."
Marley: "You can do whatever you want, plan-wise. These are... suggestions. There's various contingencies." He flips through folders.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I see, Aribar..."
Marley: "Metal Sonic could be used to distract one or another, although at cost later. Think of it like a horrible pay advance. We could unify some heroes from the planet and have them assist."
Digifanatic: "I do not want Metal Sonic involved in this. I don't want to know."
Marley: "We could improve teleportation technology to send us and everyone off the planet, but it'd be rather... difficult."
Digifanatic: "Speaking of... where'd Deloth go?"
Marley: "We could cause a third asteroid to fly in and crash into both space things."
Dragoshi: .oO(...And then the third asteroid contains killer space bees.)
Marley: "Ideas, Digi. Ideas." He writes on a small white erase board. "You have connections. Use them."
Digifanatic: "I say get rid of the Darkness. It seems to be the slightly less berserk idea."
Marley: "James Bond hated you, didn't he?"
Dragoshi: .oO(...Which, while not as bad as the Darkness or Red Text is pretty bad.)
Marley: "What would you expect plans he gives you for free to be like?"
Digifanatic: "Really messed up ones."
Marley: "It seems he left them to you because this entire world was unpalatable to him."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, the last thing Bond wanted was to stay here any longer than he could."
Jack: "Deloth left out the bottom of the building, or so it seems." He goes to stand up, but can't. "And I would too." He smirks. "You hate this whole business with us and this planet, right? Well... You could just have me save the day, and I can arrange you a warp off the planet."
Digifanatic: "Like I said, I think getting rid of the meteor is better off. It seems to be a bit more straightforward."
Marley: "Anyway, it is up to you to decide. I will wait." He walks into his office.
Digifanatic: "Folks, I have no idea what else is out there. We could be finding something worthwhile or we could be finding nothing but empty ocean... we know we can use Samus and, if necessary, one or so of us can help her with the meteor..."
Aribar: "I believe that you should work with the Red Text to stop the Darkness. You know what Red Text can do. You don't know how threatening the Darkness is."
Digifanatic: "The Darkness is the invading force, and Red Text is drawing energy off the temples in this planet. I don't know what may happen if those ties are broken..."
Metal Man (GM): Samus' codec is on the Questers' radios.
Digifanatic: "So it seems pretty logical to me. Get Samus, find a way onto the meteor, get rid of it on the surface, head back here, four down, three to go."
Aribar: "I think that communications should be opened with Red Text; tell him to fire off a beam that is strong enough to open a breach in the meteor, but won't destroy the planet."
Metal Man (GM): Talking to Red Text will require a computer. But there's one sitting around in this room.
Digifanatic: "Exactly. It seems logical, again, that he could control power..."
Metal Man (GM): And another on the ship.
Aribar: "Then any volunteers you can collect go in and fight whatever is in there."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... one of you buzz Samus. I'm going to contact RT."
Aribar: "One moment."
Digifanatic: *walks over to the computer in HQ.*
Aribar: "You people don't like Red Text. You could also use this time to try and stop him as well. I would assume that he must focus on controlling all of the temples and energy."
Digifanatic: "But we'd probably hate the Darkness more."
Metal Man (GM): The computer doesn't have an immediate link.
Aribar: "You could potentially destroy both."
Digifanatic: "And someone, please find Deloth, if you choose to do so."
Aribar sighs and goes to find Deloth. The half-elf figured that this would happen.
Metal Man (GM): Aribar walks outside. Digi finds Red Text relatively quickly. Text appears.
Deloth is near the building, but walking away.
Red Text: 'So you come to me for once. I hope you've learned from recent experiences...'
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would see Deloth walking away.
Aribar: "Deloth, could you please stop taking inopportune times to have mental breakdowns?" *Follow.*
Deloth: "Fuck off."
Digifanatic: *text, presumably.* 'In a situation like this, we have to ignore our problems and realize that greater crises may lie in front of us.'
Aribar continues following. However, he stays far enough back to not be taken by a surprise attack. "Why are you leaving at a crucial time? This planet hangs in the balance."
Digifanatic: *t* 'My fellow Questers and I are considering that we can help you remove the Dark Meteor without threatening the planet. We can weaken it on its surface, and you can finish the job off using only enough power to do the trick without harming anything else.'
Deloth: "I'm tired of being the one to have to help clean up every single damn crisis. And the job will never let me leave. Every time I try, I get pulled back in."
Aribar: "So you want to stop being a Quester."
Red Text: 'An amusing idea, especially you helping me. I shall give a more reasonable deal. If for some reason the Dark Meteor inexplicably explodes or is disabled, I will not use the planet's energy to such excess the planet is destroyed by it.'
Deloth: "I want the world-ending maniacs and the planetary explosions to stop. So... yeah. I guess I do want to stop being a Quester."
Digifanatic: *t* 'To be rather honest, I fear there would be worse consequences if we didn't help you.'
Aribar: "What will you do if you quit? Watch as the remaining Questers try to stop the maniacs and explosions?"
Red Text: 'I will not give out my firing schedule, but if you destroy the Dark Meteor as I say, then the planet will be safe. I would not want to violate our... safe distance apart.'
Deloth: "Yep. I'll watch the world end. And I'll laugh and laugh and laugh."
Red Text: 'Your approach to finishing the 4th test will be noted.'
Digifanatic: *t* 'As I have heard.'
Red Text: 'Then, if you have nothing else to say, I will leave this computer be. My resources... are stretched thin as I type to you.'
Digifanatic: *t* 'I understand. We shall try to find a way onto the meteor as soon as possible.'
Aribar: "And what will you do if the world does not end?"
Metal Man (GM): *Ding.* So, Digi's first movement has just gotten the Questers one point towards their goal: IF the Dark Metor explodes, then Red Text will refrain from destroying the world. For obvious reasons, as he seems fascinated with continuing to toy with both it and you.
Deloth: "I don't know, since I seem to be immortal. Probably end it myself."
Aribar: "Deloth, is this you talking, or your possessed self?"
Deloth: "It's me. Nobody but me."
Aribar: "You hate the world-ending maniacs, but you have no qualms about becoming one? Think! Use some reason!"
Deloth: "I am. I've seen everything. I'm tired and I want some variety. I've never seen a world end. We've always stopped that."
Aribar: "You've never seen a world end? Tell me; what happened to Nintendus before we came here? What happened when Kuja rose to godhood?"
Digifanatic: *disconnects and walks back to the other, doing the ever-infamous index-finger-taps-wrist gesture.*
Deloth: "I wasn't around the time. I even experienced twenty years of decay and rot and it still wasn't a thrill."
Aribar: "Deloth, why are you choosing this path of self-destruction? You believe that the world isn't giving in to your every whim, so you decide to throw your responsibilities to the wind!"
Deloth turns around and looks directly into Ari's eyes. "Come to think of it... I've never experienced being a villain before, either."
Metal Man (GM): The possession meter beeps a bit. However, it is not taking over Deloth's speech, but rather, speaking between when he does.
Aribar: "Think about the fate of every enemy in our path. Think about what happened to every Quester who violently retired from the job."
???: "Do not worry. I won't let my host be evil until I have found the man behind this world."
Deloth: "Kah! Weaklings, all of them!"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth would suddenly feel a pain in the side of his head.
Aribar listens to the voice. The half-elf doesn't know whether to be relieved or not.
???: "Oh, so simple. You thought I was just an evil possessor, didn't you? No!"
Deloth winces and staggers a bit, falling to his knees. "Get... get out..."
Aribar: "Deloth, I am the only Quester that has chosen to fight against the Questers and lived."
Deloth: "GET OUT OF MY HEAD!"
???: "You can only be evil once I have the man whom I must destroy."
Deloth grabs his sword and points it at his own throat.
Metal Man (GM): It would fade, with pain radiating all over Deloth's body. Too much pain to hold a sword, even.
Deloth: *Falls to the pavement, screaming at the top of his lungs.* "WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS?!"
Metal Man (GM): A voice which only Deloth can hear. "Find me the man behind this world and all shall be known."
Aribar just stands there as he watches Deloth fight with his ghost.
Deloth: "NO! TELL ME *NOW!*"
Metal Man (GM): It then adds, in a voice which is heard in a mutter from Deloth's own voice, "No." Digi would walk up to Deloth, wagging his finger.
Deloth: "YES! I DEMAND THAT YOU TELL ME! JUST TELL ME!"
Metal Man (GM): It took him a while to get down all 90 flights of stairs. No further noise is heard from the possessor of Deloth.
Digifanatic: .oO(Where are the tranquilizer guns?)
Metal Man (GM): Digi would be reminded that GUN probably has some.
Deloth: "...GET BACK HERE! GET BACK HERE! WHY WON'T YOU TELL ME?!"
Aribar: "Do you want a reason to stay with the Questers, Deloth? Stay with us to find a way to remove that possession."
Metal Man (GM): Although for some reason Deloth's dropped his sword and is now sort of yelling to himself.
Digifanatic heads back in and looks for one of them.
Deloth: "I DON'T NEED YOU! I HATE YOU!"
Metal Man (GM): There's an armory, but a guy is standing in front of it, guarding it.
Digifanatic: "Excuse me, sir, but may I have please have some form of tranquilizer?"
Dragoshi: *Just silently follows behind Digi.*
Digifanatic: "Preferably a couple of darts or something; I don't think I'll need a gun."
Deloth: "GET RID OF THIS POSSESSION! KILL ME! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE!"
Aribar: "You know how to get rid of the possession!"
Man: "Here." He gives you some. "You've earned it."
Metal Man (GM): What's that supposed to mean? Oh well.
Deloth: "KILL ME! YOU BASTARD, KILL ME!"
Digifanatic: "Thank you, sir." *casually walks back out.*
Deloth: "KILL ME OR I--"
Metal Man (GM): Policemen have erected yellow tape lines around Deloth.
Deloth: "I--I'LL KILL YOU!"
Dragoshi: *Casually follows behind.*
Metal Man (GM): One of them has put up a sign saying 'Dramatic yelling in progress-do not disturb.'
Digifanatic: *walks up behind Deloth and sticks a dart in his back.*
Aribar unsheathes Sunlight. "Deloth, stop this."
Metal Man (GM): The policemen sit around eating donuts while this goes on, knowing the Questers guys usually enforce their own rules.
Deloth makes an attempt to reach for his sword as well. "I... I WON'T LET YOU!"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth dodges the shot, then sets his arm on fire by touching the sword. Deloth is now on fire. The fire seems to not be burning him too much--but it is setting the possession meter on fire.
Metal Man (GM): And something else strange is burning... like an outline.
Dragoshi: "What the hell."
Digifanatic: *tries to go for one more tranq.*
Dragoshi: *Just... glances at the outline.*
Deloth tries to swat Digi's hand away with his sword.
Aribar: "Deloth, there are three Questers here. Stop this! You can not hope to defeat us!" *The half-elf would try to dump water upon Deloth with a Water Ele.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi's hand is swatted away. Then Deloth is no longer on fire.
Digifanatic will just take that hit.
Deloth then tries to use his sword to pull himself back up to his feet.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth stands up.
Digifanatic: *Looks for the outline.*
Aribar channels a different sort of magic towards Deloth. He attempts to force the rogue Quester to stand still so Digi can do his job. Kinesis times five.
Deloth tries to Vortex the hell out of there before the others can catch him.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth tries to use Vortex. The possession meter beeps.
Metal Man (GM): The vortex fails.
Deloth tries to stab the sword through his throat, then.
Metal Man (GM): The sword hits the same thing the fire did: a bizarre ethereal energy. However, then it slips through and cuts Deloth enough that he begins bleeding, a lot. Weird. He blacks out. ...Deloth continues standing, however, and casually drops the sword.
Dragoshi: "..." .oO(I don't even know what to think anymore.)
Metal Man (GM): He begins talking.
???: "A little help here?" He rips the possession meter off. "I really don't want to lose this host body yet."
Metal Man (GM): Yes. The 'host body'. This is the possessor speaking, as the possession meter beeps a lot.
???: "I apologize for being erratic, but your friend's mind is destroyed." He nonchalantly rips off a sleeve or some sort to staunch the wound.
Dragoshi: "...Uhhh... No problem. I... guess."
???: "I'm still not telling you who I am." He looks at his hands. "What the hell kind of body is this, anyway?" He shakes his head.
Dragoshi: "Damned if I know."
???: "Hmmmm..." He looks around, at the sky. "Shouldn't you be doing something about that?" He points at the Dark Meteor.
Aribar wishes he knew what to say to this thing..
Digifanatic: "Yes, really, we should..." *heads back up to the ship, hopefully by elevator to the top floor.*
Aribar: "A missing Quester, especially one such as Deloth, is a danger."
???: "Well, consider this a get out of jail free card for your friend." The body uses its shape-shifting features to take the appearance of a slightly more normal looking... human. With the tattoo still on it.
Dragoshi: "Yea. We should definitely be doin' something about that." :/
Digifanatic: "Who's gonna contact Samus?"
Aribar: "Can you... Take care of him from here?"
Metal Man (GM): Rinith's in the ship, a little burned but okay.
???: "Yes. I will ensure he is not dead. Although since he wants to be, I'll let him rest. Perhaps after playing dead a while, and when I find my true body, I will let him decide his final fate. ...I forget what air smells like." He coughs. "It has been so long since I have been alive... this world... this... everything!"
Rinith: *idly walks out of the ship, before looking down.* "What... the... hell."
???: "So. I remember, or, Deloth remembers." He points to the GUN HQ. "You were talking about important things. Let us go back there."
Aribar really wishes he had questions for this ghost to answer. But he doesn't. "Aye."
Dragoshi: *Nods.* "Let's."
Aribar heads back to the HQ.
Metal Man (GM): That's the funny thing.
Dragoshi: *Casually walks on along to HQ.*
Metal Man (GM): It's transformed as a near-exact copy of Trigger. The human Trigger. Thus making it impossible to tell what his real identity is. Obviously someone who knows who Trigger is. Nothing else. He however, made a few artistic adjustments. He's older and wearing Deloth's clothes style, although probably also wearing more clothes in general. He looks to be a bit cold and uncomfortable. His eyes are also blue and vibrant in color.
Rinith: *sits down on the spot and waits for the others.* -.-
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk back up to the HQ. The group is now all back in the meeting room. With Mr. Weirdo possessing Deloth.
Rinith: *pulls on his cloak hood and goes inside then.*
Metal Man (GM): The possessor of Deloth is busy looking at everything and touching various inorganic objects.
Digifanatic: "Okay, who's going to contact Samus?"
???: "These walls... floors... gravity... I have missed them all."
Metal Man (GM): Rinith would hear Digi speak. Everyone, even Deloth, has a radio.
Aribar gets out his radio and attempts to contact Samus... If he even knows her number.
Metal Man (GM): It's programmed in. *Beep.*
Samus: "Hello. This is Samus speaking."
Aribar: "Hello, Samus Aran. This is Aribar Hunter of the Questers. We have gathered information on how to attack both the dark meteor, although that data is unreliable, and Red Text."
Samus: "Red Text took out an entire GF ship with that laser weapon. I assume you found weak point in those?"
Rinith: *just heads in the direction for now.*
Metal Man (GM): Rinith's with the group now. They're discussing what to do. Also, one of them who Rinith has never seen before is busy smelling the windows.
Deloth: "This strange smell... this world is very weird."
Aribar: "To an extent, Samus. Essentially, if we attack one, the other should help us. However... Dr. Robotnik, the scientist whose crafts and technology you may have seen when we met, had a third plan. If he can get his space fleet operational, he may be able to attack both."
Samus: "Well... attacking the Red Text as things are is foolhardy, unless you have some way of disabling his attack lasers. But I'll do what I can to aid you. Just give me a non-suicidal thing to do. Then we can share the credit when this is over."
Digifanatic: "Well, okay. We figured we could destroy the Dark Meteor on the surface."
Samus: "So, I would destroy it alone?"
Digifanatic: "Not necessarily. One or some of us might be needed to aid you, but we would essentially blow it up by planting bombs or something amongst that line."
Samus: "I don't need any backup. You're free to follow me, but I can take it on as long as someone can fix a simple problem. The meteor launches ships at anything which gets too close. I need a clear path to land on the meteor with."
Digifanatic: "Ah..." *to the others.* "Egg Carrier, then?"
Aribar: "I do not know about you, but I do not quite feel prepared."
Digifanatic: "I don't think anyone does..."
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile, possessed Deloth wanders around, morphing his hand into various things and pushing a chair around the room.
Aribar: "I know both Rinith and I were injured from the last fight. Deloth's... Physical body was hurt. You were hurt by Deloth."
Digifanatic: "All we can do is go along with it... I'm fine."
Deloth: "This is all so strange. My previous body couldn't do half the things this one can do. I don't even feel hungry."
Digifanatic: "Aribar, we have a plan. We have no time to do anything else. Now or never, man..."
Deloth: *Hops and skips around the room.* "This body is much younger than my old one, and hardly used!"
Metal Man (GM): *SMACK*
Deloth: "...Ow. The wall."
Digifanatic: "We just need to get rid of the ships..."
Deloth: "Oh. I barely noticed you there."
Aribar: "Lead on, Digi." *The mage would leave to head to the Quester ship.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth walks over to Rinith.
Deloth: "Do you know what's going on?"
Rinith: "... I am fine."
Digifanatic: *nods and walks on.* "Let's go, folks."
Deloth: "You are... fine... okay... what about that giant thing in the sky that looks like it might fall and kill us all?"
Metal Man (GM): Deloth has been fully possessed by ???. So ??? is using his body... and, ironically, is not harming the Questers. However he has lost some of his tone due to taking the body over. He's too busy re-acquainting himself to reality.
Digifanatic: "Like I said, I think we're going to need the Egg Carrier again."
Rinith: "I haven't known what has gone on since I got here."
Deloth: *Follows the group.* "Follow, follow, follow the bozos! To the place where we will all die!"
Digifanatic: "And if Robotnik won't let us borrow it, and we can't hijack it, well, I hope we got enough missiles to do the job."
Deloth: "Oh. You don't know? Well, follow me! We're going to attempt something insane."
Digifanatic: "Well, this isn't the first time..."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk on into the ship. Deloth drags Rinith inside the ship with him. Deloth licks some of the chairs.
Digifanatic: *This is quite strange. Rare is the time where it appeared as if he tried to lead anyone before... now all of a sudden, he seems to be the guy in charge.* *takes off, and hopes to make a stop at Robotnik's base.*
Deloth: "...Ick. These chairs have this strange flavor to them. It's like a mix of ash and metal. There's this table, too." He sits on the table. "What is the table for? This is a ship, not a table-space ship. Oops." *Some of Garrick's tools clatter to the floor.*
Digifanatic: "Careful with those. Please pick them up."
Dragoshi: *Picks those up and puts them back where they were.*
Metal Man (GM): He lets Dragoshi pick them up.
Deloth: "Sorry... this body... weird."
Aribar: .oO(To put it lightly.)
Metal Man (GM): He then morphs into Digifanatic. And then mimes sitting next to him. Now it looks like there are two Digifanatics.
Metal Man (GM): He mimes Digi using the controls. Very carefully, so he isn't actually touching them.
Digifanatic: "I believe we've met before."
Deloth: "Ah... yes. We have."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers are on their way to Eggmanland. After a moment, the possessor changes back and stops goofing off, having remembered something.
Deloth: "Now... you are doing a very serious mission... I believe either Red Text or the Dark thing is the man I seek. Find me them and I will give you your Deloth back. Although he might just kill himself when I do that."
Metal Man (GM): He shrugs.
Deloth: "What a waste of a fantastic body."
Digifanatic: "Once Deloth has learned your identity, I believe he will at least have some inner peace if he decides to kill himself."
Aribar: "What are you going to do to the one you seek?"
Deloth: "Well. The person I seek's death will give me inner peace, and I, too, will be fine with death."
Aribar: "Why do you want to kill this person?"
Deloth: "I did not want to come here. At first, I wanted to kill you all. But... The person is why I am here. I want to confront them as to why they had me here in the first place. Similar to the person whose body I inhabit. This is some bizarre world I never wanted to be in."
Digifanatic: "Is that why Deloth is your host body?"
Metal Man (GM): He peeks out the window and sees Robotnik's base in the distance.
Deloth: "Yes. Partially. It's easier to possess people like him. That, and I sort of woke up in his body and just went nuts trying to kill you at first. Or I should say. He tried to, and I egged him on. Unfortunately now I am cured and he is insane. I no longer wish to kill you, but now he's... worse than I ever was."
Dragoshi: "What a mess..."
Aribar: "While you have him possessed, can't you do something to his mind?"
Deloth: "To do so risks him taking control again. And this body can't take a million suicide attempts. Additionally I fear he may have caught my insanity. So to mess with his mind would... potentially just drive him further insane."
Aribar: "Ever since we came to this world, Deloth's mental condition has gotten worse and worse while his body has changed in countless ways..."
Digifanatic: *looks out to see how much longer until they get there.*
Metal Man (GM): The ship's almost there.
Deloth: "Well." He shakes his head. "The writing on the wall is there, then. He'll probably die, or make you wish he did. Stopping him would merely be torturing him."
Aribar sighs. He doesn't know how to deal with a madman.
Dragoshi: *Does, but his methods involve killing them, sometimes in an over-the-top fashion so... uhhh... yeah.* >_>
Metal Man (GM): The ship lands. The door opens. Deloth walks out, looking at the base.
Deloth: "Hmf. Obviously a ripoff."
Dr. Robotnik: "Questers... ah. You have chosen wisely to come here!"
Digifanatic: *runs out, quickly looking for Dr. R-R-R-R-R-RoBOTnik, who says what he wants!*
Dr. Robotnik: "How can I help you help me help us all?"
Digifanatic: "May we please borrow the Egg Carrier?"
Dr. Robotnik: "For what purpose?" He looks around.
Digifanatic: "We'd like to destroy the Dark Meteor, but any attempts to get close will have ships be fired at us. We need to make sure we're flying something that's sturdy and mean enough to plow through with as much ease as possible."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, that's a problem. The Egg Carrier can't fly into space. I need some new technology. Perhaps from your friends. Then it could go into space."
Digifanatic: "Ohhh crap... I don't know what we have to get into space with! Unless our little ship can handle it, but I doubt it." *wonders how far above the planet the Dark Meteor is.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Nope. But I heard something about a Galactic Federation?"
Metal Man (GM): He smirks. The Dark Meteor is a ways into space at the moment.
Digifanatic: "Oh yes. We were intending on having Samus Aran help us blow up the meteor, particularly by planting bombs and things like that on it. If you think one of those GF ships can plow through the meteor's ships, I'm all for it."
Dr. Robotnik: "Get me some of their space technology. I think I can improve on it."
Deloth: "And I'll help."
Dr. Robotnik: "And Deloth will... what?"
Deloth: "Don't look at me that way. I know my way around space machines. Though the real owner of this body doesn't."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, I guess I'll take that help, and maybe some of Garrick's... if he's around. Just radio your GF friends for some parts and we'll get started!"
Digifanatic: "Okay..." *sets the radio over for the GF.*
Galactic Federation Rep: "Yes?"
Digifanatic: "Please come over here to Eggmanland; we'd like your assistance. We need to make a large ship able to survive space travel so we can blow up a meteor."
Galactic Federation Rep: "Okay... we'll send people." *Click.*
Digifanatic: *mouthing out.* "Thank you..."
Metal Man (GM): A ship lands nearby and some GF marines walk in.
Marine: "Okay, we have parts. And more parts."
Dr. Robotnik: "Put those over there." He points to the place where the Egg Carrier is set. "And spare no time!"
Digifanatic: *sighs and turns to the Marine.* "Very nice, let's get going."
Metal Man (GM): They begin running over. Robotnik and possessed Deloth get to work.
Metal Man (GM): Meanwhile... Deloth (The real one, not his possessor) has a very strange dream. For some reason, his insanity has abated, for the moment... Deloth is alone in a perfectly normal, but unnamed town, when a strange echidna walks in unexpectedly. For some reason he seems to be a new Quester?
Deloth: "Yo. I take it you're here to join our ragtag band of misfits and ragamuffins. ...I can't believe I just said that." *grimaces.*
Oushi: *Is a black echidna with dreads spiked up at odd angles, a few dyed white. his bangs hang over his left eye, you can see the hilt of a katana behind the left side of his waist, the end of a sheath on the right...* "I guess..." >.> <.<
Deloth: *thinking.* "...Oh please no not again... Alright, so, first I'm going to have to put you through the application process. First, what can you do that makes you different from Johnny-On-The-Street?"
Oushi: *thinks for a bit.* *P.S. he seems to have the same boots that Keikyoku had, or at least the same model* *He stabs the ground with the tip of his sword, then swings it upward making a giant line of black flames.*
Deloth nods. "Okay, good start. What else?"
Oushi: "Got anybody near impossible to hit?"
Deloth looks upwards. "How about that duck up there?"
Metal Man (GM): For no reason, there is a hyper-fast moving duck in the air.
Deloth: "...bloody nuclear power plant and their random mutations on wildlife. Anyways. Shoot that duck down. I'm hungry."
Oushi: *Pulls out his sword with a flourish and plunges it into his stomach, the bloody tip comes out the other side.*
Oushi: *Picks up a rock, turns around, closes his eyes, and throws the rock backwards, which for no apparent reason hits the duck.*
Deloth: "Can you happen to be able to do that WITHOUT the seppuku interlude?"
Metal Man (GM): Oushi takes the resiquite damage. The duck is hit and falls down, dead. There are more ducks in the sky, though.
Deloth fries the duck with a Fire Ele as it falls and catches it. Mmm, broasted. "So, that's two. *KRRRNCH KRRRNCH KRRNCH* You should have... two more, if I'm not mistaken."
Oushi: "Heh, not really, but I can do this..." *He starts mumbling something and his sword seems to start sucking the life out of him... Then he swings, shooting out a red beam at another duck.*
Metal Man (GM): The beam causes the duck to fall down as well.
Deloth: *Fry and catch.*
Metal Man (GM): So, he can shoot down ducks. But... now there is an evil statue in the area. It has a large sign on it which says 'DO NOT TOUCH.'
Deloth: "So now that we've devastated the wildlife population and gotten me a delicious meal, wha--where'd THAT come from?"
Metal Man (GM): Weird singing comes forth from it. However, writing on it promises infinite power to anyone who does, in fact, touch it, and more.
Deloth munches on the second duck. "New person. What do you do in a situation like this?"
Oushi: *Reads the statue.* "Heh... I could care less about a statue."
Deloth: "What about infinite power?"
Deloth: "What about buttons? Alluring buttons? SHINY buttons? CANDY-LIKE buttons?"
Metal Man (GM): There are lots of buttons, on a control panel. Oushi would see it is actually quite simple, as a large door with 'EXIT' appears. The control panel has three buttons. One says 'Open door', the other says 'Hilarious Consequences', and the third says 'DO NOT PUSH EVER' Yes. Yes they do.
Oushi: *The dyed dreads turn red.* *Glares at the retarded stuff popping up.*
Deloth: "Push that second one. I want to see how hilarious." *He begins crunching on the beak of duck #2. Very loudly.*
Oushi: "Go yo hell, you wanna see it, you push it."
Deloth: "I'm your CO and I command you to push it."
Oushi: "Says who? I haven't joined your group yet."
Deloth: "So you've got enough smarts to know when someone's feeding you a line of BS. Okay, how about the open door button?"
Oushi: *His dyed dreads turn grey.* "Sigh You want me to press buttons, you'll have to force me..." *He tosses the katana at Del's feet.*
Deloth pops his tentacles. "I do love a challenge."
Oushi: "Then cut me down, with my own sword none the less" *Casually leans against the wall.*
Deloth: "...meh, fine, I don't feel like fighting." *He hands the katana back to Oushi.*
Oushi: *Flips it back into the Sheath.*
Deloth: "Okay, so, next question. You're walking down the street when, suddenly, a cloaked man appears before you and offers to give you infinite power in exchange for a small favor. What do you do? ...You shouldn't need to pause for thought. This is not a SAT question. Hell, it isn't even Trivial Pursuit."
Oushi: "Say Go to hell old man and walk away; I could care less for infinite power..."
Deloth: "He takes out a sword and charges towards you with a high-pitched screech. What now?"
Oushi: *Raises his katana and rockets toward Deloth, black flames trailing behind him, and ends up on the other side of Deloth.*
Deloth: "...I was speaking hypothetically, y'know."
Metal Man (GM): Oushi flies through Deloth.
Oushi: "You charged at me..."
Metal Man (GM): But Deloth did not charge at Oushi. He only said hypothetically...
Deloth: "Mental note: has severe trouble differing between hypothesis and reality. That's a biiiig black mark on your record. But let's move on. Next question: in a battle between Gamera and Godzilla, who would win?"
Deloth: "Ooh, GOOD answer. I like that amount of confidence. Unfortunate, both Gamera and Godzilla are eighty feet taller than you, but still, that's some serious guts."
Oushi: "Dying wouldn't bother me."
Deloth: "Alright, another question. You see two swords embedded in a pillar, one blue and one green. Which do you take?"
Oushi: "Neither... I like my own sword..." >.> <.<
Deloth: "Actually, the answer is to dual-wield them. But I can understand your mentality, so I won't count off points. Now, do you get along with others well?"
Oushi: "Meh, People, no people, I could care less..."
Deloth narrows his eyes. "You're on shaky, shaky ground."
Oushi: *Gets his stabbing whisk.*
Deloth: "See, we work with a LOT of people on our job. Some of these people are less than stable. In fact, some of these people are downright grapenuts. As such, you must be ready to talk about and deal with anything. ANYTHING."
Oushi: "Well if people spent enough time with your constant asking question, I can see how they're grapenuts."
Deloth: *calmly.* "That's because they're nervous about knowing someone that could rend them limb from limb." *He holds up a hand from behind his back, now covered in razor-sharp blades.* "Ever heard of Edward Scissorhands?"
Oushi: "Hmmm, you can actually do that, huh?"
Deloth: "Please answer the question yes or no."
Oushi: *His dyed dreads turn white.* "WOW! That's a pretty neat trick. But, no."
Deloth: "Eh, neither do I."
Oushi: "How can you know about somebody, but have never heard of them, that doesn't make any sense."
Deloth shakes his blade hand at Oushi. "I'm asking the questions here."
Oushi: *His dyed dreads turn even whiter, with a hint of silver.* *Chuckles.*
Deloth: "So... I think that if you can be a little less anti-social, you'd make a pretty good addition--what is with your hair?"
Oushi: "Oh, heh, it does that..."
Deloth: "WHY?! Why do you have amazing Technicolor dreadlocks? Color-changing hair is MY job!" *fur color switches to light blue.*
Oushi: *Chuckles.* *His dyed dreads turn even whiter, to the point where they seem to be glowing.* "Because I do... You know... You can be kind of funny..."
Deloth: "Yes, I'm a very humorous person, now fess up about your hair. What, did you fall into a vat of radioactive Grecian Formula? ...Never mind."
Oushi: *His dyed dreds turn back to grey...* "They just change color..."
Deloth: "Look, do you have any phobias, fears, irrationalities, things like that?"
Oushi: "Not really..."
Deloth: "Anything? Water, the dark, high places, ticks, things like that? ...oh holy crap ticks." *starts reflexively scratching himself.*
Oushi: >.> <.< "I like high places, and I find water kind of annoying... Nothing much more than that..."
Deloth: "Okay, so... I can't really see any huge flaws except maybe that antisocialite thing, but there's one last question. Answer honestly. Will you be loyal to the Questers or yourself?"
Oushi: "I guess... As long as I'm not sitting around bored all day..."
Deloth: "Heh... heh heh..."
Oushi: "If I am I'm gonna go find something to do..."
Deloth throws his head back and laughs loudly. "BORED! AHAHAHAHAHAHA! WHAT AN IMAGINATION!"
Oushi: "Alright then, I guess we won't have much problems..."
Deloth: "SITTING AROUND BORED! WAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, man... whoo, you crack me up... Okay, I think we're done... welcome aboard."
Metal Man (GM): The dream fades out as does the session. What does this mean for the future? ...Who knows. :p
