Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 41: Red Station
Date: February 16th, 2009.
Metal Man (GM): The group is back together after doing some small errands. They are at Eggman's place. Yet again. Eggman seems mildly annoyed. But he also seems pleased at the size Eggmanland is now. The once vast, abandoned continent the Questers led him to is now becoming filled with giant buildings, smokestacks, electrical equipment and Eggman monitors.
Julian: "...So what're you buildin' here again? Some kinda themepark?"
Metal Man (GM): Robots clank all about as the Questers are in the very heart of the base, alongside Robotnik, who is using the highest amount of his machinery to track Red Text's great mystery.
Dr. Robotnik: "Theme park? Hah! I am building a base for the heart of the Eggman Empire."
Andrew: "Then why is there theme music?"
Digifanatic: "Where have you been?!"
Andrew: "College."
Julian: "Who the fuck are you?"
Digifanatic: "Oh..."
Dr. Robotnik: "That is reserved for announcements... ..." He adjusts his glasses. "College? In this dimension?!?! But you..."
Dragoshi: "...It's more likely than you think?" *Shrugs.*
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I think they're kinda likely to show up as well..."
Andrew: "Of course, 4thwall College."
Dr. Robotnik: "..." He types some things into his computer. "Whatever it is, I have finally figured out The Red Text's plan, and what he would probably call your 'final test.' I hope you're ready!"
Dragoshi: "I'm ready as I'll ever be."
Julian: "Still don't know who the fuck this guy is... What ya got?"
Dr. Robotnik: "..." He flips a switch. "Allow my image to speak for me."
Metal Man (GM): An image of the planet appears. Above it is a large satellite, basically a large rectangular prism floating in space.
Andrew: "I have playing cards, and a power glove. We have met, but you seem to have forgot."
Aribar stands back behind the others. The mage is listening in, but is mostly entranced by one of the thick books he acquired from Luigi's collection.*
Metal Man (GM): A large beam of energy is seen moving from the planet at a specific point--that 'Oracle' island--to the satellite.
Julian: "For all I know you could be some kinda Red Text spy or somethin'."
Metal Man (GM): The Eggman flips on some more scanners. While the satellite is shielded, it shows some sort of machinery.
Digifanatic: .oO(Oh, come on...)
Aribar: "I can vouch for him; I vaguely recall seeing him before."
Dr. Robotnik: "He has created a machine of impossible complexity." He waves a hand. "He is also a GENIUS, I am afraid." He points to the planet. "The planet isn't going to explode anymore. He's stabilized some energy reaction. He's... he's..."
Metal Man (GM): He twists a dial.
Digifanatic: "Yeah, as I hinted at before, he was here like once or twice."
Dr. Robotnik: "He's created some powerful energy routing device."
Julian: "So he's jus' a flake then."
Digifanatic: .oO(Well, that throws away part of that one-off dilemma I had before, kinda.)
Dr. Robotnik: "But oddly, he hasn't turned it on."
Metal Man (GM): He flips another screen. It is covered in Red Text.
Dr. Robotnik: "He's just been sending this."
Red Text: 'Come and get me. Come and get me. Come and get me. Come and get me. Come and get me.'
Kenku: "Maybe he hasn't figured out how to use it yet. Or hes holding it hostage..."
Dr. Robotnik: "Does this scream 'trap' to you? I'm sure it does. So... what say you?"
Aribar: "Do you have any idea what an 'energy routing device' could be used for?"
Digifanatic: "I agree... we should still have two tests to go."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well... lasers route energy... teleporters use energy... basically he could power anything he wanted with it."
Digifanatic: "So unless this is test number six..."
Julian: "Don't we have some kinda gun we could take this out from a distance with?"
Dr. Robotnik: "We can't blow it up, because his power device is such that it would destroy the planet just to protect him. This device in its prototypical phase nearly did just that when Dark Force and a large meteor attempted to take the satellite out. However, he appears interested in you visiting him, so I assume he would allow you right in. Hence, 'trap.'"
Kenku: "Trap or not, we can't let him hold the energy and taunt us..."
Andrew: "Is there any critical device that would cause tons of damage if it overloaded/lost power?"
Aribar: "I believe that we should learn more about Red Text's motives so we can determine if he will use that device for the planet's good or ill. It certainly seem as if one way to discern its purpose would be to pay him a visit."
Dr. Robotnik: "The one point of interest is the channeling point for the energy on this planet." He points at it on the map. "He led you to reactivate it, and then figured out how to use it for his unknown deeds. I tried sending some probes to it, but it's bathed in energy and so hot it can melt lead."
Digifanatic: "I suppose... if it's the only way our current scenario can safely proceed, well, it's not very safe but what else do we do?"
Dr. Robotnik: "It would be a crucial control point which could destroy the device if damaged, but nothing I have can destroy it without accidentally taking out the planet afterwards."
Andrew: "But Lead melts at a relatively low temperature..."
Julian: "That' still pretty fuckin' hot."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well, the ocean cools it down a bit. And he has it set so that he doesn't, like, melt the ocean away. That would just be stupid! So you could try to figure out a way to sabotage it at that point. Or visit him yourself. Personally, I am trying to build a device of my own so as to steal control from him."
Aribar: "I would like to visit Red Text. In the flesh, if possible."
Julian: "I don't trus' ANYONE wit' this. Oughta get shut down."
Andrew: "Protip: use titanium."
Kenku: "Were going to have to by the looks."
Dr. Robotnik: "He has an excellent base in space, a field which is unstoppable, and the one weak point is so hot it could melt lead. Naturally if I had the materials, I could redirect the energy to my control." He chuckles. "Of course, if you have a way to stop him otherwise... be my guest!"
Digifanatic: "We may need a more diplomatic manner for now."
Julian: "How crazy we figure this guy to be? 'Cause you know the rule about crazies."
Digifanatic: "Probably very."
Metal Man (GM): He presses a switch, playing back various messages.
Red Text: 'I am your benevolent benefactor. -- I will not tell you my name. -- No, you can't do that. -- Destroy the Dark Meteor. -- There are as many tests as there are colors in the rainbow.'
Dr. Robotnik: "Not insane, but... very strange."
Digifanatic: "Maybe he knows when to conceal it."
Julian: "We'll jus' have to find out."
Dr. Robotnik: "Well then. You want to visit him? I shall get his attention if that is your plan."
Digifanatic: "Well, however we can communicate with him."
Aribar: "I would like to visit him, if no one else would."
Andrew: "Sure, why not. Not like I was here to make any critical choices, so yeah~"
Julian: "I wouldn' vist the crazy in person. That's jus' askin' for trouble."
Digifanatic: "He's not going to fight us until we take care of all of his tests. Well, directly that is. I know he sent a few Vylch clones against us--pretty sure that was him--but I don't think he even wants to lay a finger on us until the last test is complete. However... well, some people don't consider indigo a color of the rainbow. They skip straight to purple. That makes six instead of seven..."
Aribar: "Personally, I do not think he is the kind of villain that we are used to dealing with, if he is indeed bad at all."
Julian: "Indigo is totally a color."'
Digifanatic: "It is, it's just whether how many people remember it."
Andrew: "Roy G BIV."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, I know, but some people forget about things like that."
Andrew: "They are wrong~"
Dr. Robotnik: "Okay..." He clicks some buttons. "Here."
Digifanatic: "Most likely so. Anyways, end topic. Let's get going."
Julian: "They're dumbasses, is what they are."
Metal Man (GM): The screen of boring messages suddenly turns to normal ones.
Red Text: 'If you wish to visit me then return to the Final Egg base. My assistant will then send you to my base. P.S. Do not jam any warping devices, unless you wish to become like a M.C. Escher painting.'
Dr. Robotnik: "My one intact warping device can send you there, if you wish. To fly around the ship would be somewhat... superfluous."
Digifanatic: "Yeah."
Dr. Robotnik: "Or you can do whatever else it is you want, since..." He shrugs. "The device is inactive and he is waiting for you."
Kenku: "Ok... umm... before we take off... outside of bandaids, what else do you have for sale?"
Dr. Robotnik: "Of course, if you take too long... I might just take the power for myself. Mwoo hoo hoo hoo. All for a good purpose, of course! Nothing much. Why?"
Kenku: "Just curious... and it seems I have cash now. I'll buy a bandaid although if there is nothing of interest."
Dr. Robotnik: "I have a few items of worth, let me see... You wanted swords or spears, right? But I doubt you have the coinage now..."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out band-aids and sandwiches.
Dr. Robotnik: "These may be more your speed."
Kenku: "By the looks of it..."
Andrew: "Have any generic brand items?"
Digifanatic: *takes one more Band-Aid for now; he's still saving up more or less.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Those are all the items I have, I am afraid."
Dragoshi: *Also takes a Band-aid.*
Kenku: "I'll take a band-aid."
Dragoshi: *After paying the Eggman 18 coins, of course.*
Julian: *Also buys a band-aid.*
Andrew is poor with 20 coins. So Meh. He buys one band-aid and goes down to 2 coins.
Metal Man (GM): He watches the Questers buy all the band-aids.
Dr. Robotnik: "Well. I shall have to make some more!"
Kenku: "Ready to go now I guess."
Andrew: "Substitute the non-stinging stuff with the cheaper burning like heck stuff." *Said with a grin.*
Dr. Robotnik: "Then allow me to arrange your transportation." He throws a big lever and a spinning circle appears in the room, showing a warp. "Do not hesitate too much. It costs a lot to run just for a few moments!"
Julian: *enter!*
Digifanatic: *warp.*
Andrew: "Come on everyone, into the Tarp~ or... trap."
Kenku steps into the warp.
Andrew goes teleport.
Dragoshi: *Ker-warp.*
Aribar: *Slowly enter!*
Dragoshi: *warp.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers warp into the base. It's still the same one they left quite a while ago. They've been brought rather close to where they first entered this world. The base itself is empty and still under Eggman's control. It runs silently, without much going on. However a robot can be heard walking around outside.
Kenku steps out of the warp spot and looks around for Red Text's assistant.
Aribar starts after Kenku.
Andrew plays around with his tarrot cards while waiting.
Metal Man (GM): There's the the robot, an old E-series robot.
Julian: *Hey, it's a robot.*
Robot: "I see you there. Have you come to see Red Text? Or are you just lost?"
Julian: "First one."
Robot: "First one? You speak oddly." He begins walking down a forest path--one the Questers originally blazed.
Dragoshi: *Nods.*
Rinith is in autofollow.
Julian: "Yeah, I been told that." *Follow zee robot.*
Digifanatic: *follows.*
Andrew follows behind the robot~
Kenku also follows the robot.
Metal Man (GM): The group goes to the Emerald Coast, right back where the Questers arrived. In fact, a strange little sign noting this fact is here. The robot walks up to it and stops suddenly.
Robot: "Do you have any idea why I brought you here?"
Andrew: "Talking or Trap?"
Kenku: "I'm guessing to try to make sure Robotnik wasn't tracking us?"
Robot: "You are close, but also too suspicious to see what is right in front of you."
Aribar: "I am hoping that it is to take us to Red Text."
Robot: "Why don't you take a closer look?" The robot points to the sign. 'Questers fell from space and arrived on this planet here.'
Digifanatic wonders if that's handwriting or a computer typeface.
Andrew: "Oh, so this is where you guys landed?"
Metal Man (GM): It's a computer typeface.
Kenku: "Interesting."
Rinith: "..."
Dragoshi: "Yep..."
Julian: "So..."
Robot: "You wish to see Red Text. I know that. Just give me a moment."
Digifanatic: *Notices that the font is red.*
Metal Man (GM): The robot takes out a communicator and begins talking.
Aribar: "Why is this sign here?"
Digifanatic: "Well, take a look at the color."
Robot: "Because it is a clue for one of your last tests."
Digifanatic also checks if there's space still left on the sign.
Metal Man (GM): Nope. Just as the robot is about to finish the call, a familiar figure walks in. No wait... two of them.
Digifanatic: "Okay, so he didn't leave space for something like '...and here is where I killed them after they thought they could defeat me after passing my tests.'"
Marley: "Ah, the Questers! I wanted to talk to you, but Eggman told me 'GUN business is unimportant business'!"
Robot: "Do not listen to them, they do not know the truth."
Marley: "I wish it was under better circumstances, but GUN has been tracking the moves of Red Text just as much as Eggman has."
Kenku looks over confused, but lets someone else talk.
Aribar turns to the figures coming by. He also wonders why the robot instantly got defensive.*
Marley: "And with the help of my rather shifty friend here, we have something important to warn you about."
Digifanatic: "Yes?"
Metal Man (GM): The man he's holding sputters and looks up. It's Jack, who pushes Marley away and coughs.
Jack: "Red Text... he has been planning this! If you go to his base... he will kill you! It is all a part of his plan!"
Andrew glomps the robot. "Did you know that you are so cute?" *Is holding the robot/trying to hold it down while distractions go on.*
Robot: "He says that, but he also does not tell you tha--" It stares at Andrew like he is an impudent child as he grabs but cannot tackle the robot. "I am important Red Text equipment. Please do not poke me."
Jack: "He tried to do the same with me... trust me. He sent James Bond after me, and you know what he did."
Aribar: "Why does Red Text want us dead?"
Jack: "He wants to control the world! He's been only playing at illusions of it until now. But thanks to you, and me, and anyone else who accidentally helped him, he's nearly there!"
Andrew: "But you are so adorable! I love electronics you know, did you know the circuit was invent-- bla bla bla."
Robot: "He says this, but... Jack also planned to kill--" The robot slowly goes to push Andrew away.
Digifanatic: "He wants the world. Yup, secretly crazy, Julian."
Marley: "I discussed with the others. The safe way is to defuse his control device with another device. If you go now then you might simply never return."
Julian: "You happen to got that device?"
Marley: "...No."
Julian: "You know where it is?"
Marley: "It has to be made."
Julian: "With?"
Jack: "But I can make it! Heck... you can make it... just don't go into that portal!"
Metal Man (GM): The robot tosses Andrew aside and summons a portal. Oddly, it does not care, and the portal is normal.
Julian: "Wasn't plannin' it."
Rinith: "..." *sighs.*
Andrew goes fwump.
Robot: "I assure you, the portal will not malfunction or damage you. It is in fact safer to be inside than where you currently are. The air is much purer after all."
Julian: "So how we make it?"
Digifanatic: "Not going in there."
Jack: "Well, that's the funny thing."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out his staff and slams it into the sand.
Andrew: "Pure air 'O2' is more dangerous than you think~"
Rinith: *tosses a stone idly in to the portal.*
Digifanatic: "Lots of glass or something??"
Jack: "This device is apparently a sort of tuning rod. It was set to kill people. But it can be set to do many things."
Robot: "Pure oxygen? Of course we would not use that. We have the healthiest air in the world. You will envy that rock when you know to what a great place you have sent it."
Metal Man (GM): The rock vanishes.
Robot: "The control device this Jack mentions could also be used by him to control the world, and you. But of course, Jack is trustworthy, just like all those times he nearly got you killed or stole your business. Hasn't he, Marley?"
Aribar: "I can go through the portal and scout ahead; Red Text could not prevent me from returning."
Marley: "I'd shoot that robot, but that would be too good a fate for it. Red Text must have decided to program a sense of sarcasm into it."
Kenku looks to Digi and the others. "Who's better to trust here? I came after so..."
Digifanatic: "I'd rather stay here for now..."
Julian: "Man, I ain't got a clue."
Andrew: "The question is, who helped you guys first? And what happened after?"
Jack: "The choice is yours, but you can't really un-warp. Dr. Eggman was trapped up there for the longest time."
Digifanatic: "Those two helped us first."
Rinith: "I will go in, though as for teleporting back if something goes wrong... I can't do that anymore it seems."
Robot: "You can warp back and forth if you should please. It is after all the safest thing in the world to do. See?"
Metal Man (GM): The robot walks into the warp. Then it walks back out, with the rock. The rock is unharmed.
Robot: "I know many of you do not know what is going on. But then you can simply ask me and I will tell you all the details. Red Text has been watching and does not hide facts like GUN."
Andrew: "Oraganic vs Non-Organic."
Aribar: "Red Text appears to be a completely technological being; I doubt he could stop my teleportation magic."
Andrew: "Non, pardon."
Marley: "I assure you, Red Text only shows information which profits him. Much like Jack... but you can trust me. I've been here since the start."
Kenku stands there thinking.
Digifanatic: "He's probably organic, but I'll let them answer."
Robot: "This discussion has proven infertile for world-saving, so I will simply stand here and wait, since you need time to think. And thinking can become knowledge which can become power!"
Aribar: "What is Red Text's ultimate goal, robot? Why has he fought with Robotnik and that dark meteor? Why is he gathering so much energy? And why does the world need saving? Who does it need saved from?"
Robot: "You have to ask him, I can't tell you. That would be me assuming his goal, which has so far been to protect the planet. Unlike these GUN moguls who assume their organization will undertake a massive technological project simply to spite someone who has done nothing but good for this wonderful planet."
Kenku: "Protect! He would of killed the planet to destroy the meteor?!?"
Flaeyn: "Hm, he probably has some kind of crazy reasoning that justifies it."
Rinith: "..." *carefully watches the portal while the others talk for now.*
Robot: "You should ask him that question. I can't second-guess his every move."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, to ensure that nobody can topple his reign when he finds random people and universes to somehow etch and rebirth the planet after its demise."
Marley: "Come with us and we can build a device to stop this nonsense once and for all. Red Text simply wants to control things. And so does Eggman. We simply want to be able to wake up in the morning and live our lives without weird robots or eccentric scientists telling us what to think."
Kenku: "I don't know..."
Julian: "Hey, that's what I wanna do to."
Robot: "I resent that. I am not weird. I am intelligent. You are weird. You dislike that which could protect the planet. What have you saved recently?"
Julian: "I'm sidin' with these guys. The planet."
Kenku: "Guys... we have a problem... if we break the deal, there is a chance we could be dealing with a much more angry Red Text."
Andrew: "A kitten. At College. Erm. So yeah."
Kenku: "And much more suspicious one."
Aribar: "Robot, is Red Text listening in on this conversation?"
Rinith: "Most likely is weather the robot says he is or not."
Robot: "Of course he is not. He does not need to spy on you."
Flaeyn: "Well that was a hit to my ego..."
Marley: "But how did he know all this other stuff you keep telling us about?"
Robot: "He is very good at guessing, of course. He is a very smart person."
Rinith: -.-
Marley: "Well, I've heard enough. If you want robots to tell you what to do, go over into the portal. I've got something better in mind." He walks off.
Metal Man (GM): Jack stays for a moment.
Andrew: "So he knows that pi/0 = 1?"
Flaeyn: "So, which are siding with?"
Jack: "Come with us if you wish to prevent your inevitable death by Red Text. Otherwise..."
Metal Man (GM): He smirks.
Jack: "It'll be all for me, Jack, Savior of the World!"
Dragoshi: "..."
Rinith: -.-
Jack: "I hate all those people in it, but when they worship me, I can forgive them. So. Choose wisely!" He walks off.
Rinith: "Too many nutcases in this world."
Robot: "See? Jack cannot be trusted. And Marley is a pessimist. Red Text can tell you everything you want. But he can't let me say it for him. Then it might be misinterpreted."
Aribar stands there and wonders what he should do. "I still wish to meet with Red Text."
Robot: "I am just a simple little robot, after all."
Aribar: "Red Text has talked through simple little robots before."
Rinith: "You just said you were intelligent though."
Digifanatic: "Hang on... robot..."
Andrew: "Not that simple. The fact you never fell for the logic paradox is enough~"
Robot: "But this information is more important than merely telling you what is going on." He turns to Rinith. "I am only intelligent enough to make my own sentences. I cannot comprehend the great logic of Red Text."
Digifanatic: "Can you go inside and see what Red Text might kill us with if it's true?"
Kenku: "Well... unless you guys can fully trust those two, I would rather at least talk to red text. I don't want to break us up if need be, but right now it is the easiest way to learn about our enemy."
Robot: "Of course I can come with you to outer space. There is nothing dangerous at all there."
Digifanatic: "If we know he's got some superweapons or something, then it's not a good idea we hit the portal... but if all this is is a test to see how we figure out who to trust in a situation like this and RT wasn't gonna kill us..."
Rinith: *winces.* "Nope, just no air."
Digifanatic: "Then we're home free and six down, one to go. "
Andrew: "There is one easy way to see this."
Digifanatic: "So all I'm saying is hit the portal, scout out the base for a few minutes, and talk back to us after you've checked out as much as you can find. Yes?"
Kenku: "I'm fine with that."
Andrew sticks his head in the portal but not his body.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew sticks his head in the portal. Nothing happens.
Robot: "For your safety, the portal does not engage until you are in it fully. We don't want you to lose your head."
Aribar: "'Hello' says the half-elf with a teleportation spell that can take him back to our group at any time."
Julian: "Look, you guys can go if you want. I ain't."
Digifanatic: "Yes, Aribar?"
Kenku: "Alright..." Kenku says and steps towards the portal.
Andrew grabs Kenku. "You have an idea, Ari?"
Metal Man (GM): The two guys who spoke earlier obviously were going towards the city.
Kenku: "What?"
Metal Man (GM): The robot sits by the portal idly.
Aribar walks several meters away from the group. He casts Rejoin. "Teleportation magic. Potentially one-way portal. Negation of any trap."
Digifanatic: "Well, if you think that will work... "
Aribar: *And would subsequently teleport back to the group when he casts the spell.*
Andrew: "Nice idea~ We will head with group Jack/Mack and you can meet up with us later."
Aribar: "I can scout inside of the portal if you would like. Or you can choose to have us all go back to Marley's place."
Andrew walks up close to Aribar and whispers. "In case you get replaced by a clone/bot the codeword is Pink Banana."
Flaeyn: "...What the heck?"
Kenku just stands idly as people try to make up their minds.
Aribar nods towards Andrew and enters the portal unless anyone objects.
Digifanatic sighs and lets him in. He was really hoping the robot could do it for him.
Metal Man (GM): He warps in. The robot stands there.
Robot: "Anyone else? Your suspicion will only slow down your inevitable victory, Questers."
Andrew: "Good luck Aribar! Come on Julian, lead the way to Jack/Marley~"
Rinith: "..."
Julian: *Julian was already about caught up with JaMarley by the time Andrea had said that.*
Metal Man (GM): So the Questers split up.
Andrew: "Or we follow the way he came~" *Follows.*
Metal Man (GM): I will start with the Aribar side, since that will be quicker.
Rinith: "Where could I learn this teleport spell anyhow?"
Kenku follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): At the Red Station, Outer Space. The Station is now called 'Red Station', and Aribar has just warped in. He is on what is labeled the 'first floor.' It is actually a large computer lab. Computers are everywhere, as are windows showing outer space. The walls, the ceiling, and the ground are silver with various red labels, carpets showing the path through this one large room, and also used to show safety warnings. A screen on the wall turns on and a tone alerts Aribar of its presence.
Red Text: 'There is only one of you. What causes this?'
Aribar wonders whether he should be straight forward or not. The half-elf decides that being blunt and single-minded has worked so far with the Questers, it will work now.
Metal Man (GM): The room is silent, other than the sound of various machines ensuring the atmosphere is, in fact, quite breathable here.
Aribar: "As you probably understand, the Questers are suspicious of you. There is a great deal of reason to believe this is a trap."
Red Text: 'I expected nothing less of them. The real question, however, is what they plan to do if they do not want to talk to me.'
Aribar: "Your robotic doorkeeper said that you were a good guesser; I imagine that you can take an educated guess as to how a Quester would deal with you. I believe that a better question would be why you are so secretive, what your motives and goals are, and why you are gathering so much energy."
Red Text: 'Those who have shown their faces too early have been mercilessly destroyed. I should think I should be allowed to hide who I am, if it benefits the planet.'
Metal Man (GM): It is quite silent, as Aribar... thinks?
Aribar: "And you have, and the planet is safe. Dark Force, a being whom certainly was your equal, is gone. Why do you still need secrecy? What must the planet be protected from now?"
Red Text: 'That is why I asked what the Questers found so interesting as to change their minds. Eggman is poised to become a major power as it is, and you have been helping him every step of the way.'
Aribar: "The other Questers seem to think you more of a villain than a protector; the Questers have allied with Eggman due to a need for the symbiotic benefits that both parties produced for each other. One of Eggman's goals just happens to be your eradication. You know a great deal about us; you may know that we've dealt with Eggman a great deal in the past. He is indeed a great backstabber. It is likely that he will be a threat in the future, but he has provided us with technology, items, and transportation."
Red Text: 'Besides some necessary risks I had to take, I have never backstabbed the Questers. Eggman wields immense power and is poised to use it as he pleases. And... where did the other Questers go?'
Aribar: "I parted from them to see what you wanted from us. As you can imagine, a job of a Quester is never done and I have attempted to save some time by... I suppose being an ambassador, in a loose sense."
Red Text: 'The nature of my speech is thus: I have a last thing to do which shall aid this planet immensely. But if I am going to remain in the dark about your plans then I shall leave you in the dark about mine as well. Fair is fair...'
Aribar: "The Questers are looking into methods to deny you access or to destroy your large energy reserves; as I said, they do not trust you. I know no more than that."
Red Text: 'If they destroy the energy reserves, they destroy the planet. If they deny me access, then they prevent the coming crisis from being solved. Who would propose such a thing? Eggman?'
Aribar: "Indeed, because while in secrecy you be protected, you can also be seen as a threat. They know of the dangers, which is why they simply won't blast it with some gun. However, I do not see how keeping us in the dark about a new crisis, nor all of these tests, helps us protect the planet."
Red Text: 'The danger of secondhand information is why I do not tell you know. I want them all to know. But they won't come here to hear me. So... bring them here if you wish to know.'
Aribar: "Even I, who can hardly operate a calculator to save my life, know of little devices such as this." *The half-elf takes out his radio.* "Surely you know how to record messages? I know that you can talk through computers and robots. There are ways for you to transmit a message without us coming into your den."
Red Text: 'James Bond stole my communicator. Everyone can read my messages now. I could not create a new system in time... if you really don't want to know, you can just wait.'
Aribar turns on his radio and tries to contact the others.* "Digi? Julian? Dragoshi? Can anyone read me?"
Metal Man (GM): We switch over to the others now, at GUN HQ. The group have walked their way to the HQ, with Julian, Digi, Dragoshi, and Jack and Marley.
Digifanatic: *Well, let's see if they pick it up.*
Metal Man (GM): Well, time's a bit different. They don't receive the radio call just yet. Which is perfect, since they came to hear from Marley and Jack first. Marley sits down at a table.
Marley: "The plan is simple. The control of the planetary energy uses one node. We've been unable to touch it, but."
Metal Man (GM): He shows a blueprint for a GUN machine.
Marley: "We construct a machine and you, the Questers, deliver it. Then the machine will disrupt the control and protect the planet from further control like this. The machine is not made yet. But you can help; we know you can get the aid of the Galactic Federation. And perhaps steal some parts from Eggman."
Julian: "Makes sense. Where are we gonna be deliverin' this machine to?"
Jack: "The ol' Oracle island."
Metal Man (GM): http://ssq.metalman88.com/info/5.htm. It's that island the Questers went on before that had the Oracle device on it.
Jack: "We also get control of the Oracle, for whatever it's worth. Never really trusted it anyway. And of course, you will be compensated for your services."
Marley: "It's just a matter of you agreeing to do that, and not to go up and be trapped by that smooth-talking Red Text. Of course, Jack has volunteered to take the device, since his staff will be a part of it... But in light of his major tax dodging issues, he won't earn a cent."
Rinith: "..."
Digifanatic: "What else do we have to get in order to build it?"
Jack: "It's a small sacrifice, since that means I can keep the yacht and thousands of rings."
Marley: "Well, we need a powerful energy focusing device, which your Galactic friends should have. More importantly, Eggman had that whole array disabled once. We need his disabler device. It's... just something that emits a special electromagnetic wave. So, you in, or you out?"
Digifanatic: "I'm not sure. Considering what may happen if there's a bug in the system..."
Jack: "Well, you could go let a crazy machine tell you what to think." He sticks his tongue out at Digi.
Digifanatic: "I'm just concerned about what will happen just by disabling his stuff."
Andrew: "System Crashes are usually BAD."
Rinith: -.-;
Julian: "So you want us to go behind two organization's backs to get you what you need?"
Digifanatic: "To be honest, so far, my view is if we detach ourselves from Red Text and Robotnik and be our third party, it's probably the best policy. I'm just a bit worried about the possibility of an 'I told you so' here or there."
Marley: "The Galactic Federation is an open alliance with you. There is no going behind them. The parts could simply be bought from them. As for Eggman... who trusts Eggman? The decision is yours, but. I for one have no interest in letting either Robotnik or Red Text control the world or force everyone to always be on the look out for 'convenient' threats which usually involve him."
Metal Man (GM): Then the radios go off.
Digifanatic: *takes out.* "Yes, hello?"
Aribar: "Digi? Julian? Dragoshi? Can anyone read me?"
Digifanatic: "Yuuup."
Andrew: "Yeah, we can hear you Ari."
Dragoshi: "That we can."
Andrew makes the shushing motion to Marley and the others.
Julian: *Answers radio.* "Yo."
Digifanatic: "Are you in a sick bay right now?"
Aribar: "Nay, I'm up in Red Text's sattelite. No deathrays or traps thus far. Just a conversation."
Digifanatic: "...Huh!"
Aribar: "However, we have reached an impasse."
Digifanatic: "Do tell."
Aribar: "He wants to use the energy to protect the planet from new crisis that is lording over us."
Julian: "Does he wanna tell us what it is?"
Andrew repeats the shushing motion~
Digifanatic: "New crisis? Has he said anything else about what that might be?"
Aribar: "However, he won't tell me what it is. Essentially, he is in the dark as to what you are doing right now, so we are in the dark as to his plans. That, and he wants everyone to be in his satellite before he tells us anything."
Andrew: "Can't he tell us over this radio?"
Digifanatic: "Is he speaking, typing, whatever, with malevolent intent?"
Aribar: "His last communicator was stolen by Bond. I'm contacting you now in an attempt to show him that he can easily communicate to you guys; he is afraid of misinterpretation and such. I hope so, Andrew. And I've seen not a lick of malevolence, Digi."
Rinith: "Being mind controlled?"
Digifanatic: "Ohhh... so should we head back to the portal, then?" .oO(Ah, that's his name! Right.)
Julian: "So is he gonna TELL US or do we gotta go meet his crazy ass?"
Aribar: *To Red Text, but saying over the radio as well.* "So, Red Text, is this an acceptable medium to communicate over?"
Red Text: '.'
Metal Man (GM): That's all he says. A single dot.
Aribar: "He... Has a single dot on screen."
Digifanatic: "I think he wants us with you."
Julian: "...I take it that means 'no'?"
Marley: "It's quite clear he won't talk to you. Not with that radio on."
Jack: "He's a paranoid guy, especially after James Bond broke my leg and stole the communicator."
Digifanatic: "That, and I think he'd prefer Aribar not to be the telephone. I dunno, but I'm willing to hit the portal. If that's what we'll need to figure out which course of action to take, and it sounds like we're not gonna get killed."
Red Text: 'The portal is still open where you last saw it.'
Aribar: "He said that the portal is still there."
Digifanatic: "I'm game."
Aribar: *Just to Texty.* "Red Text, what is the difference between speaking over the radio and speaking in person? In fact, this way only I have seen your base; isn't it more secretive this way?"
Metal Man (GM): Kenku is actually out of the link entirely, as he's just standing next to the portal. The robot next to the portal begins playing Solitaire.
Andrew: "Jack should come with us, He could be useful~"
Jack: "The Red Text only wants me dead after I let James Bond forcibly remove the communicator while crippling me for life. Yes. I tried my best and still failed. He doesn't care."
Andrew: "Oh. Right."
Julian: "What about Marley? Red Text got any vendetta 'gainst you?"
Marley: "No, but I don't trust him."
Jack: "So, going to choose something, Questers? All this nonstop posturing is making me hungry."
Digifanatic: "Marley, I'll say this. Do you think if we wanted to kill us, he would have killed Aribar while we had no chance to save him, or even worse, ourselves?"
Jack: "Maybe I will be a cannibal and eat some... jack cheese... heh heh heh heh."
Digifanatic: *turns head and rolls eyes.*
Rinith: -.-
Marley: "No, he would wait to kill people until they were in one room in a space station he controlled, then empty all the oxygen."
Rinith: "I hate space."
Digifanatic: "Other Questers, your views on my question?"
Metal Man (GM): As this is going on, the robot by the portal speaks to Kenku.
Robot: "So, mysterious person sent to guard the portal, I assume you have been given as bad a job as I have? It sucks, being a low level minion, doesn't it?"
Red Text: 'Over the radio can be intercepted by everyone.'
Kenku: "Meh... I wasn't sent to guard the portal... I just forgot that Aribar supposedly can tele right to the group... standing here is boring... and by the sounds of it they're coming back", Kenku says and walks to where the GUN group is.
Aribar: *Just to Texty.* "Then one last suggestion; write it down. I can take it to the group. If I'm attacked along the way, then I can simply burn the message."
Robot: "Well, I guess I'll let you go visit them." The robot turns around and walks back to the portal. Kenku has have reached the GUN city where the Questers went.
Red Text: 'I am the one who determines the information here. Either come here or not.'
Aribar: "Okay then; have it your way." *The half elf talks to the others once more.* "He seems adamant; either we're all here for information, or we don't get any information."
Andrew: "Anyway, enough of this pointless arguing. I say we visit the Red Text, if he tries to kill us, then we can use the Pink Banana plan to figure something out."
Julian: "Motherfu-...A'ight, I'll go. But if he shunts us out an airlock or somethin' I'm blamin' you."
Rinith: *sighs.* "Do I count as part fo this group of 'everyone'?"
Andrew starts walking back to the portal dragging Rinith (Or attempting in a comical fashion.) "Yes~"
Julian: "Are you a person?"
Aribar: "Everyone can simply not come and remain in the dark."
Digifanatic also starts walking back.
Metal Man (GM): Jack eats a sandwich with Jack cheese on it.
Jack: "I'll be waiting for when you come baaaaack!"
Kenku meets the others. "So what's happening?"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers are going towards the portal now.
Digifanatic: "Like it or not, we're heading in."
Metal Man (GM): The robot notices the Questers and walks with them back to the portal.
Julian: "Meetin' up with Crazy Space Robot."
Robot: "So you have seen that the path is perfectly safe, right? Your friend is not dead, after all."
Metal Man (GM): 5 feet tall.
Aribar: *To texty.* "It appears as if they're coming up, Red Text."
Julian: "Still don't trust his ass."
Red Text: 'I will be waiting, then.'
Andrew: "So, I never got your name, what was it?"
Robot: "My name is robot. Yours?"
Andrew: "Andrew. But just robot?"
Robot: "Yes. I am Robot the Robot. It sets me apart from all the other robots with cliche names."
Julian: "It's a goddamn robot. You wanna ask its life story?"
Andrew: "Yes."
Kenku sighs and just enters the portal.
Andrew points to his power glove.
Robot: "It all started when I was nothing more than a pile of circuits..."
Julian: "...You're fucked in the head." *Into the portal.*
Rinith: follows a bit slowly.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk into the portal.
Digifanatic: *Thank goodness.* @_@
Robot: "I was made by Eggman, then put into storage. I was programmed to kill Sonic! But then..."
Andrew: "Then?"
Metal Man (GM): The robot realizes it is in Red Text land.
Robot: "I'll tell you the rest later. My boss wouldn't want me slacking off on the job."
Digifanatic: "Wha?"
Andrew: "We can walk and talk, at lease till we get to the room~"
Metal Man (GM): *WARP* But... of course... the Questers are now on... RED STATION. On this... RED STATION. There is lots of computers, windows, and... nothing much else but computers, windows, and the computers are beige with red highlights. But yes. Most of the stuff is red.
Andrew: "Monochromic color schemes for the fail."
Kenku looks around. "Interesting... maybe he's some sort of supercomputer."
Andrew: "At least use complementary colors~"
Red Text: 'Welcome to my space station. I will now tell you everything.'
Digifanatic: *stays silent and lets him.*
Red Text: 'First, find where I am, then I will tell you everything. That is everything.'
Metal Man (GM): The screen turns off.
Julian: "Welp, I'm here. Let's get the party started..." *Radios Aribar.* "We just got in. Where you at?"
Digifanatic: *light chuckles.* "Hypocrite."
Metal Man (GM): There's Aribar, standing right nearby. It's all one room. With no obvious way up or down. There's huge windows on the sides, though.
Aribar waves to the others.*
Andrew looks for a computer keyboard.
Julian: "Okay..."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew finds not one, but twenty computers, with keyboards.
Kenku starts trying to look over the area for any discernible hallways or clues to going deeper in.
Metal Man (GM): They are all working away at complex equations.
Julian: *Julian is no computerologist.*
Metal Man (GM): There's nothing much, but one can look out the windows.
Aribar: "Unfortunately, he only communicated with my through that screen."
Kenku goes over to look out the window.
Metal Man (GM): Kenku sees that everyone is in a rectangular prism shaped satellite.
Digifanatic: *also looks for a computer, just to get a map of the RED STATION (there, I warmed over!)*
Metal Man (GM): On the top of it, in fact.
Rinith: -.-;
Metal Man (GM): There's red walls on the outside.
Andrew: "Excuse me, Robot the Robot? Can you help us find Read Text? Red, pardon."
Kenku thinks. "If this wasn't so serious, I would swear this ship looks a little familiar."
Aribar: "I wonder if it is a trick of the light; if he is here, but invisible to us."
Robot: "Yes. I can help you."
Julian: "Are you gonna?"
Robot: "The way down is right in front of you."
Metal Man (GM): Most of you are facing the computers.
Digifanatic starts to patiently walk down that way.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk down one path. But this is just one room. It has twenty computers in the middle...
Robot: "Red Text never likes to be too far from his machines."
Digifanatic: "I see."
Julian: "Maybe he made some kinda passage way behind 'em." *Julian retrieves the Hammer from his equipment bag.*
Andrew: "I can see why, I can just hear them humming with well maintained glee~"
Robot: "Be careful. Some of those control vital functions."
Kenku follows the others.
Metal Man (GM): Digi and Kenku walk in circles in the square room with no obvious way up or down.
Robot: "Look at them walk. Inspiring, isn't it?"
Julian: "Which ones don't?"
Andrew: "Sigh~"
Robot: "I don't know. Red Text kept telling me not to touch them."
Andrew sits down to a computer.
Digifanatic decides to looks for some hidden panel or something away from the computers.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew sits down. It shows an image of complex mathematical equations.
Kenku: "Are there any I could interface to?"
Metal Man (GM): Maybe if he understood those, he would know what it was doing.
Andrew alt-tabs.
Metal Man (GM): Digi discovers a hidden compartment on the floor! He pulls on it... He pulls on his shoe! His shoe flies off and over Julian's head! Andrew presses alt-tab. He sees: Even more complex equations. The buttons on the keyboard feel... different.
Julian: *Julian ducks the shoe and goes over to where Digi is.* "You wanted my attention?"
Digifanatic: "No."
Julian: "You find somethin'?"
Andrew types 'Find.'
Digifanatic: "But stand here anyway while I get my shoe back. Yeah, looks like our secret entrance into the next area."
Metal Man (GM): Some of the keys don't actually go down when Andrew pushes on them.
Digifanatic goes back to pick up his shoe before returning to where he was.
Metal Man (GM): Digi picks up his shoe. Man, it's still full of sand from the beach.
Digifanatic: *puts his shoe on, too.*
Metal Man (GM): Some of it spills on the floor.
Robot: "Excuse me."
Andrew presses to see what keys do not go down~
Metal Man (GM): The robot grabs a mop and cleans up the sand Digi spilled.
Digifanatic: "Okaaaay..." *steps out of the way.*
Julian: *Checks out said secret entrance...*
Digifanatic: "Red Text's got an OCD thing for clean floors?"
Andrew: "Worst that can happen is that I disable life support~"
Digifanatic: "...Wrong psychology, Andy."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew finds the keys which do not go down: R, E, D, T, X, and also I, V, and O. Weird.
Andrew goes to check a few other keyboards to see if it holds true.
Rinith: "..."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew finds this on all the keyboards.
Julian: "So what, is it a door or somethin'? A hatch?" *Julian shouts over at Digi.*
Metal Man (GM): The buttons feel like they're bolted to something. Digi, meanwhile, goes back to where he was. He finds a weird corner in the carpet. It's loose.
Rinith: "Anything I can do?"
Digifanatic: "Well..." *he was there, so he takes a look at the corner.* "Let's peel this back." *does so to the corner.*
Andrew takes a close look around the underside of the keyboards.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew bonks his head into the keyboard. Repeatedly. From underneath. The buttons which are stuck move oddly. Meanwhile, Digi rips up the carpet. He reveals that the floor under the carpet is steel. The robot walks over.
Robot: "Oh dear. Why are you destroying the carpet?"
Kenku looks over at Andrew. "Are you ok?"
Andrew tries to press redtext from under the keyboard.
Digifanatic: "I'm not destroying it..."
Andrew: "I can solve pretty Puzzles, narph."
Robot: "You're ripping it off the floor."
Julian: "... That ain't a secret passage."
Digifanatic: "Then why's the loose corner there?"
Kenku walks over to Andrew and asks "You find an interface or something."
Robot: "Well, Red Text had the carpet put in rather poorly."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew presses some buttons.
Julian: "Yo! Nerd!" *Yells at Andrew.* "Find out which'a these computers-" *points at the 20 computer bank.* "-Don't control random functions."
Metal Man (GM): The buttons move in correspondence to pressing little depressed parts under the tables. But... There's a last issue. Doing that simply allows Andrew to enter text. It isn't unlocking anything. He types 'Red Text' and the computer lights up... but nothing happens.
Andrew: "Sorta~" *He types 'Find Ivo & Redtext.'*
Kenku sees this, and mutters something to the point of "Something tells me I was right the first time, and Eggman hasn't been very truthful."
Rinith: *Sits down and meditates.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi determines that the robot is telling the truth.
Digifanatic: "Andrew, go distract the robot for a little bit again."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew determines those commands don't do anything.
Digifanatic: "Actually, hold that."
Metal Man (GM): However, typing Red Text lit up that computer... nothing happened, though. Digi discovers that he is wearing socks.
Andrew types 'Hi Redtext?'
Digifanatic goes to another computer, and types in Help, and hits Enter.
Metal Man (GM): The computer stops glowing when Andrew types Red text a second time. Digi finds the e button on the keyboard does not respond to being pushed. It seems to be stuck.
Andrew goes hmm.
Robot: "Don't worry, I'll fix the carpet damage." The robot carefully repairs the carpet.
Andrew goes and types Ivo.
Metal Man (GM): The computer brings up a notice saying 'Ivo Robotnik is no longer in our service' and then nothing.
Digifanatic: *types Map and hits Enter.*
Andrew then goes and types redtext on every computer~
Metal Man (GM): Nothing happens when Digi does that. However, all the computers are lit up by Andrew... and the 13th computer does something weird when Andrew activates it. It begins to rise upwards via some platform underneath it rising.
Julian: "What we got here..."
Kenku: "I knew it... Red Text was made by Eggman..."
Robot: "Of course not."
Metal Man (GM): The platform reveals... a small one-person elevator.
Digifanatic: "Huh..." *looks at the space previously occupied by Computer 13.*
Andrew: "See key words, OUR."
Robot: "Oh. So that is where the super-secret elevator is."
Digifanatic: "Oh, one at a time... not cool."
Julian: "So he's down there?"
Andrew: "Don't make me hug you again~"
Robot: "Almost."
Rinith: "Can we see if it has any files on the group? Questers is it?"
Digifanatic: "If nothing else, it leads up to our second room."
Andrew enters the elevator.
Robot: "Anyone going down now? I am."
Metal Man (GM): The elevator goes down, lowing Andrew into the second floor.
Digifanatic: "I will be soon enough when there's room." *second.*
Metal Man (GM): The robot gets third in line.
Julian: *4th.*
Kenku will go behind Julian.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers slowly fill the second floor, which is like a giant air conditioning room. It manages the oxygen and life support. There is also a washing machine in here. And a single computer.
Digifanatic: "What's with the washing machine?" *checks it out to see if there's anything odd with it.*
Robot: "Well, as he wears clothes, they have to be washed somewhere."
Andrew looks at the computer screen.
Robot: "Unless you never wash your clothes? Maybe that is why people dislike you."
Digifanatic: "No, we do, I just figured he never left his room."
Julian: "You try and find me a laundromat down there."
Rinith: "Dryclean only here."
Robot: "Even if he did, he'd need clothes. Of course, he had them put away so you wouldn't destroy them in your one of your rages."
Digifanatic: "He's probably got a closet in his big ol' room where he communicates with us." *He looks at the computer here.*
Julian: "So what next? "
Metal Man (GM): This computer is different. It has a chess game on it. ...And a racing game... And in fact, a lot of games on it.
Robot: "It is boring living in outer space all the time."
Digifanatic: "Well, he does like a nice leisurely contest once in a while..." *looks for the next way out.*
Andrew looks at all the games~
Metal Man (GM): Digi notices some laundry detergent on the floor. Even odder, there's a light in the floor around the washing machine.
Digifanatic: "Hmmm... someone help me move the washer, please."
Kenku helps Digi move it.
Metal Man (GM): The games are such great titles as Necessity for Top Acceleration, Boohoo Chess, Solitaire EXTREEM, Dan's Fortress, and Trivial Pursuit: Mobius edition.
Robot: "Oh no. You can't move the washer. It's stuck."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers find the washer to be bolted to the ground. And... really, REALLY bolted there.
Digifanatic: "Hmm..." *peeks inside the door then.*
Kenku goes looking for another doorway.
Metal Man (GM): Digi sees a strangely spacious washing machine tumbler, the kind that goes horizontal.
Digifanatic: "It is kind of large..."
Metal Man (GM): Kenku discovers a hatch on the outside of a life support machine facing the outside. There's some windows too.
Kenku blinks. "Not that way..."
Digifanatic: "Does anybody have a small, harmless object?"
Robot: "I volunteer that dangerous hammer your friend has."
Digifanatic: "...no, Julian is not giving that up."
Andrew places washing detergent in there.
Digifanatic: *listens for the splash.*
Metal Man (GM): There is no water in it. It can be turned on, though. It has a knob for 'normal wash' 'heavy wash' and 'heavy metal wash'
Digifanatic: *turns it on normal wash.*
Metal Man (GM): It begins spinning and filling with water.
Rinith offers another stone.
Digifanatic: *shuts it off.*
Robot: "Water is so expensive in outer space."
Metal Man (GM): It turns off.
Digifanatic: *sees if the water drains out somewhere or if it just stays there.*
Metal Man (GM): It drains... downwards. The gaming computer randomly acts as if it was poked when Digi turned on the washing machine just now.
Andrew turns the washing thingy back on and takes a close look at the comp~
Digifanatic: "Hang on..." *goes back to the computer.*
Metal Man (GM): An icon lights up. 'Remote Washing Machine Control' There's some sort of program that's minimized monitoring the Washing Machine.
Kenku goes over to the gaming comp, and tries to minimize the game.
Andrew opens it.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew opens the washing machine control panel. It's a duplicate of the controls on the washing machine. ...With one little checkbox added. 'Lower Wash after it is done'
Digifanatic: "Either we've got to get wet..."
Kenku looks around the computer's screen to see if there are any other odd running programs.
Digifanatic: "Hang on..."
Metal Man (GM): None, it's practically empty.
Digifanatic: *types R-E-D-T-E-X-T.*
Kenku scratches his chin... "Huh... weird."
Metal Man (GM): The computer plays the Red Station theme song. Weird but not useful.
Kenku starts minimizing other games.
Metal Man (GM): All the games are closed now.
Andrew checks the checkbox.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew checks the checkbox. The washing machine is spinning. And full of water.
Rinith: "So, what did you need a useless object for?"
Digifanatic: "To see how deep the washing machine goes..."
Kenku grumbles. "Cmon... there had got to be more to this than just a video game setup..."
Digifanatic: "Like if it's some passage into the next part of the base."
Kenku types in "IVO."
Metal Man (GM): Random words won't work.
Rinith: *hands Digi a stone.* "I'm guessing earth won't be so easy to come by in space, so I like to keep some" *perhaps his fear of space shows, perhaps not.*
Digifanatic: "Ah." *casually drops the stone into the washing machine.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope, it's just a game machine. Digi opens the machine, which drains before he opens it. Then it closes, fills up, and... THUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNK. THUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNK!!!!!
Digifanatic: "That was just one stone..."
Robot: "You sure know how to make noise."
Metal Man (GM): The cycle is set to continue for 20 more minutes.
Julian: *Walks over to the washing machine.* "The fuck are you guys doin'..."
Digifanatic: "Shut it off, Andrew."
Metal Man (GM): THUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNK.
Robot: "Master will not like all these dents in his washing machine."
Digifanatic: "Andrew?"
Rinith: *smirks a bit, as his ears pin back to muffle the sound, to cover this, Rinith just pulls on his hood.*
Metal Man (GM): THUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNKTHUNK.
Andrew sets the timer to 10 seconds.
Metal Man (GM): The timer dings.
Andrew: "See, this is why we can go to nice places."
Metal Man (GM): Then the entire washing machine sinks under the floor.
Rinith: "You broke it, oh joy."
Julian: "Number 2..."
Digifanatic: "No, we just did the process out of order."
Robot: "Oh... I knew he was lazy."
Rinith: "With the luck I have seen so far, this means the whole place blows up."
Digifanatic: "We're supposed to put the Quester inside, then shut it off quickly enough such to avoid drowning."
Andrew: "Or you know..."
Metal Man (GM): After a moment, it comes back up. The rock is gone.
Andrew sits on top of it, and turns it on and off quickly.
Julian: "Air lock or a secret passage."
Metal Man (GM): Leaving it in 'normal' mode.
Andrew looks at the modes.
Metal Man (GM): 'Normal' 'Heavy' 'Heavy Metal'
Andrew sets it on #3 and turns it on and off quickly.
Metal Man (GM): Strangely, no water occurs when Andrew sets it to #3. Instead it slowly rotates.
Julian: "Think we found a winner."
Metal Man (GM): The cycle is set for an abnormally low time, too.
Robot: "Oh... I had almost forgotten... he said he would save so much money if he combined the laundry lift with the elevator..."
Andrew steps in~ "Guinea Pig away~"
Metal Man (GM): The washing machine can fit about three people at a time.
Kenku steps into the machine.
Julian: *Ain't goin' in with these freaks.*
Digifanatic: *Third.*
Dragoshi: *Does not know if follow.*
Rinith: ...
Metal Man (GM): The machine DINGS! And then sinks into the floor with them inside. They are taken to the third floor, dropped on the floor where the rock they put in earlier is by a tilting motion... The washing machine comes back up empty.
Digifanatic: *contacts the others with the radio.*
Robot: "Well, either they died a horrible death by washing machine, or..."
Digifanatic: *radio.* "Everything's fine. Come on down when you can."
Kenku lands on the floor with a thud. He gets up and dusts himself off.
Julian: "I'll take my chances." *Enter: The Washing Machine Of Elevator!*
Digifanatic: *also gets up.*
Rinith: *gets in regrettingly.* "Wheres that emo echidna?"
Digifanatic stands out of the way so he doesn't get pummeled by Questerpile of doom +1.
Metal Man (GM): The robot waits for the others to get in. After a moment of awkward rotating and being dumped on the ground, the group (and the robot) are on room 3, which is a bit more serious.
Andrew gets out of the way also~
Metal Man (GM): Room 3 is the power system.
Andrew: "You are almost being unhelpful on purpose~"
Metal Man (GM): Or at least. It is the backup power.
Kenku does a quick look over for any sort of passageways.
Robot: "This room is probably the most unimportant one."
Metal Man (GM): Kenku discovers... a power generator in each corner of the room. All of them are turned off.
Julian: "So how we gonna get though this one..."
Metal Man (GM): The lights in here are recessed in the ceiling. The middle of the floor is empty, sans a table. It's a meeting table... or a lunch table... The table has one chair next to it.
Kenku thinks for a second and then asks the robot. "Uh... whats this switch do?"
Andrew turns all the generators on.
Robot: "It causes the lights to turn on and off?" The robot points at a switch on the fall, next to some windows.
Rinith: "What are these games... and if there is so much space saving, is this place even that big?"
Metal Man (GM): Andrew turns them on. The room becomes noisy.
Julian: *Looks over at Kenku, notices the generator... and the other 3 in the other corners of the room.* "Looks like this is a simple one." *Goes to activate one of the generators but is beaten to it by Andrew.*
Metal Man (GM): RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
Robot: "I don't thRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR."
Kenku hopes they didn't just overload the power.
Rinith: *covers his ears.*
Andrew: "Oops~"
Metal Man (GM): No, power is perfectly normal. In fact, the lights are brighter.
Andrew goes to turn them off~
Metal Man (GM): Andrew turns them off. The lights flicker.
Kenku begins to cover his ears as as well as the whirring starts to irritate him.
Julian: *Julian covers his ears and winces.* "THE FUCK YOU TURN THEM ALL ON FORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRr." *Walks over to that big switch Robot pointed out.*
Metal Man (GM): It's a big ol' light switch.
Julian: *After giving it the bird, Julian turns it to the off position.*
Metal Man (GM): One of the lights stays on, though.
Digifanatic: *Checks if it is it still loud as HEAVY METAL.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope. The generators were turned off.
Kenku goes over to look at where the light that was on is.
Digifanatic examines the walls a bit...
Metal Man (GM): Bottom left corner.
Julian: "Try turnin' em back on again."
Andrew does so~ After asking if the robot is okay.
Metal Man (GM): Digi discovers the walls are all windows to the outside. Except for a few segments in the middle of each wall/side of the room.
Kenku covers his ears.
Robot: "I don't think turning them all on is a good idea for your hearing."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..."
Andrew turns one on and waits.
Julian: "Okay..." *Notices the light.* "Jus' the bottom left one then."
Digifanatic examines the table, to see if it's covering anything interesting.
Metal Man (GM): It is on some carpeting. The carpeting is uneven. The bottom left generator is activated. rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. It isn't very loud.
Digifanatic: *Checks if the the table is easily movable by one person.*
Kenku uncovers his ears.
Metal Man (GM): The lights flicker and a different light is now bright while the others are dim. It is in the upper right corner.
Rinith: >.>;
Metal Man (GM): The table is easily movable.
Digifanatic: *moves it and checks out the uneven carpeting.*
Rinith: "My bird was actually better at puzzles then my self..."
Andrew goes and ya know the drill~
Metal Man (GM): It's a poorly applied carpet, seemingly. Andrew turns it on... the light stays there, and it gets a bit loud again.
Digifanatic looks for more peelable corners and such.
Julian: *Julian goes to switch off the bottom left generator.*
Metal Man (GM): The light in that corner stays on.
Robot: "Something was always funny with that light."
Metal Man (GM): Digi finds no peelable corners.
Andrew jiggles the light switch.
Metal Man (GM): The light in the corner throws a spark or two.
Robot: "Yes... that light has always confused me."
Rinith: "Whats on the other side? Another hidden passage?"
Robot: "I don't know."
Andrew takes a close look at that light.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew pulls on it. It falls off, revealing a passageway.
Digifanatic: "Well, I had the right idea." *heads over.*
Julian: "Number 3..."
Andrew: "Sigh." *He walks along.*
Kenku down the passageway.
Julian: *passageway!*
Andrew: "REDTEXT WHY MUST YOU HAVE SUCH ANNOYING PUZZLES? Bah~"
Metal Man (GM): The Questers pass on through to the fourth floor... after dropping out a small vent, they find themselves with a large wall blocking the way entirely. And it's red.
Digifanatic: *Determines what the wall is made out of.*
Robot: "Well, this is new."
Metal Man (GM): It's made of some strange material. Metallic, but tougher and flexible.
Digifanatic: *Flexible, huh?* "Julian? Time for some bashing." *Pulls out the golf club.*
Julian: "'Bout time I got my workout." *Hammer? Yes!*
Rinith: "Well, I can't believe I was right on the light."
Digifanatic: *Let's give this wall a whole hearted ram. With feeling!* *With feeling!*
Andrew sidesteps out of the way.
Metal Man (GM): *BOING* Digi's club bounces off of it. The hammer bounces off of it, too.
Robot: "Hm. Maybe this is some new tennis court or something."
Digifanatic: *Checks for dents.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope! And here... we pause!
