Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 44: The Meaning of "Team"
Date: February 28th, 2009.
Metal Man (GM): The group is in GUN HQ, lookin' for some help to rebuild their Stadium. They've just landed atop the HQ with their ship. The way down into the building is open.
Kenku follows behind the others having not dealt with GUN very much.
Metal Man (GM): Being atop a building in Central City is sorta fun. It's breezy up here, about 1000 feet off the ground.
Rinith enjoys the breeze.
Metal Man (GM): The group is in GUN HQ, lookin' for some help to rebuild their Stadium. In Westopolis. 'Cuz. They want a new Stadium. Won't build itself. Unless they want to do something else suddenly.
Garrick steps out of the ship, frowning slightly as he heads down the walkway and onto the landing pad or whatever they've decided will work.
Metal Man (GM): Top of ze building... Stairs lead straight into the top of the building.
Dragoshi: *Walks on out of the ship, and casually follows behind Garrick.*
Metal Man (GM): Top floor, that is.
Deloth: "Hey, Garrick, while we're here, I need to stop by the hospital for a bit."
Garrick: "...no one to meet us? I'm insulted."
Rinith: *follows quetly.*
Garrick: "Fair enough, Del. Do what you need to do."
Garrick takes a long drag on his cigarette as he heads down the stairs in question and walks in casually.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers would walk right in to the GUN office, as Marley is twirling a thin pencil in his hands.
Marley: "Ah, someone's come down. About time." He spins it. "I was afraid your ship had broken down."
Deloth: "Yeah, we had to get out and push it halfway through."
Metal Man (GM): Marley leans in his plush leather seat, the same man that was seen as a fisherman of medium height (5'10) with generic black hair and blue eyes. He seems relatively blase.
Garrick walks over to Marley, shrugging slightly and taking another drag on his cigarette. "So, I dunno the deal with you GUN guys... who's in charge?"
Marley: "What's up now? Something on fire? We saw you fly to Westopolis. Well, I am. The other guy just manages the troops. After Borne blew up and all. Figures... you guys never write things down."
Deloth: "We're looking to establish a permanent base where we can settle down. Head command center, if you will."
Andrew: "I wonder if this building has a fire alarm?"
Metal Man (GM): Fire alarm. There is a lever for one on this floor.
Garrick: "Not so much that... more like, we're wanting to get Westopolis back on it's feet by fixing it up with a casino and stadium."
Marley: "Hm. And what do you need from us?"
Garrick: "Man power, mainly."
Metal Man (GM): There is also a smoke detector.
Marley: "Can't offer much of ours." He goes to a window and points to an area made up almost entirely of cranes and construction. "Borne took out downtown. We're using all we got to rebuild it."
Garrick: "Eh, well, this might be in your best interest to help us with. We're not building any normal stadium."
Andrew stands quietly and plays with his cards while Garrick talks.
Garrick: "This stadium is meant to be a... sorta focal point in the world. It's a fighting arena where people can settle matters over sport instead of war. It's open to anyone, as long as they play by the rules. On top of that, it'll help the economy in earnest, get some more people better lives and jobs. They can help in rebuilding as well. It also serves as a kind of training facility. We can get some of these new people..." He glances around at everyone who isn't Dragoshi and Del. "And actually teach them what the hell they should be doing as a Quester."
Deloth nudges Garrick. "I'll be right back."
Garrick glances to Del and nods.
Deloth slips out of the room and starts heading for the hospital.
Marley: "Well." He smiles softly. "We're the current focal point, and we have the training facilities of the area. Along with our little construction snafu, we can't really help you. I mean, I could order people to help you, but then I'd probably be pushed off the top of this building for helping build a competing group. I can refer you to some other guys though. I've got to warn you though... they're completely bonkers."
Garrick: "...and they would be?"
Marley: "They'll build it, though. Hell, they'll throw in death to whomever interferes for free."
Kenku: "Bonkers in what their plans are, or just having crazy ideals?"
Marley: "Well, they're a secretive bunch. So much so that they just appeared one day and gave us their card. We couldn't afford them, but they said something about a 'package deal' for someone who helped them." He gives Garrick a card. It says to 'Kick the blue rock near the power plant in Continia.'
Garrick takes it from him, taking another puff on his cigarette and reading the message before turning it over in his mind... blue rock... does that sound familiar to him?
Andrew stops looking bored. "Hmm?"
Metal Man (GM): Not particularly. The choice of color is striking, however.
Marley: "They told me they've taken on entire enemy countries, sort of like you have, and that they have secret technology few people can use."
Andrew: "Red Text's relative?"
Marley: "Hence, totally bonkers. Nah. No text. See..." He points at the card. The card has totally normal writing. Except it has a sort of retro styling on it. "No colored text."
Garrick: "Hm. Anything other than that? Names, faces..."
Marley: "Well. I remember what they look like. One of them looked like Eggman. Only he was skinnier and wore overalls. And a hard hat. Another one I forget. He ran past me and I never saw him again."
Rinith: "So the text is not even blue?"
Marley: "They drove weird looking cars. I heard a lot of gunshots when they left the town."
Garrick: "...purple getup?"
Marley: "Nah. Blue tinted."
Marley: "They did get anxious when I mentioned Red Text though. Although when I showed them his text, they stopped worrying."
Garrick: "...well, I suppose we could give it a try. We can always deny them if they're too out there."
Marley: "Yeah. They said they understood when I said no. Mostly, they said my 'bizarre technology from the future' was too tricky for them to build with."
Garrick: "What technology were they using, anyway?"
Marley: "Although the guy in the overalls said he could probably figure it out in 10 seconds. He wrote a bunch of weird calculus expressions down. They had relatively normal looking machines. Ones that were almost 50 years old in design and appearance. But then this one guy began building stuff that was like... an alternate branch in technology. He said this world was a poor place to build his machines, but he had figured out that a different universal constant ruled here. Then I lost him when he spoke of the universal theorem of shooting people with bullets."
Marley: "He also said some weird people accosted them on their way here, but that I shouldn't worry--his group had shot them all to death."
Garrick: "...well, we'll go give it a look."
Marley: "Sure, they... seem friendly. ...Also very crazy. Craaaazy."
Garrick: "We've dealt with crazy. We've dealt with crazy that makes the world stop turning sometimes."
Marley: "Yeah. These guys are more 'nutty professor' crazy than 'stop the world, I'm a maniac' crazy."
Andrew: "I have heard stories that you have dealt with Clown Villain Crazy."
Dragoshi: "Oh, well. That's a kind of crazy I can tolerate." :x
Garrick glances to Andrew... "Just don't say his name and I'll be good... he still gives me the willies... you know who I'm talkin' about, Drag?"
Rinith: "I'm sure this group can tolerate more crazy."
Andrew: "No Problem~"
Garrick gives Andrew a weird look before nodding to Drag and making to head back to the ship. "Right, well, later Marley. Thanks for the card."
Andrew follows along behind them.
Rinith: *just follows.*
Kenku follows the others back to the ship.
Dragoshi: *Also follows.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth isn't there. He's still at the hospital.
Garrick: "...meh. Del is taking too long."
Deloth: *walking up to the front desk.* "I need to ask about a certain medical procedure. ...Would it be possible to do an arm graft from one individual to another?"
Metal Man (GM): The receptionist looks at Deloth.
Receptionist: "Only if they are of the same species or type." She points at the mobian and human patients nearby. "Let's just say it's messy otherwise."
Receptionist: "The host cannot control the arm without sophisticated computer hardware. Since their brain only knows how to control... what is normal to their species."
Deloth: *coolly.* "I don't think that'll be needed."
Receptionist: "You speak of strange science fiction here... we only do normal procedures. Arm transplants are weird anyway."
Deloth: "So how much would one of those operations cost, anyways?"
Receptionist: "Do you have insurance?"
Receptionist: "It gets into a million rings range for experimental things like arm transplants, requiring a wide panel of experts for the surgery to be successful. If there are two live people involved it just gets more expensive... two hospital beds..."
Deloth: "What if it's a gift for a friend? Do you offer discounts?"
Receptionist: "YOU tell that to the neurosurgeon."
Deloth: "Sure. Where is he?"
Metal Man (GM): A doctor glances over her shoulder and smirks at Deloth. His sunglasses alone must be worth ten times Deloth's salary.
Doctor: "Who is this crazy man bothering you?"
Receptionist: "I... don't know."
Doctor: "Let me take him off your hands." He shoves her aside. "What kind of non-scientific quackery do you want, sir? I understand you want to replace someone's arm, but it sounds like you also want it to cost you nothing."
Deloth: "An arm transplant, Horatio."
Doctor: "Between what? And don't tell me it's between you and someone else." He stares at Deloth carefully. "I just know you've been doing something un-kosher to your body."
Doctor: "Your skin is distorted. You have strange, non-typical features." He flips through a small book. "Easily the mark of some form of radiation or genetic meddling which Man Was Not Meant To Do. Look, I get these cases all the time, and you just can't do it. If you have like, two people who have the same species and relatively same arm size, it can be done. Otherwise you may was well get a robotic one."
Deloth: "I've ASKED him about a robotic one. He doesn't want it."
Doctor: "Well that's not my problem, now is it?"
Deloth: "You're a doctor. Of course it's your problem, otherwise I would've just melted your sunglasses into a puddle of glass and walked off in a huff."
Doctor: "Nope. Sorry." He just walks off.
Metal Man (GM): A guy pokes Deloth in the shoulder.
Guy: "Could you please get out of the way? I need to renew a prescription. I understand you want a new arm, but... this isn't some experimental health institute."
Deloth heads out of the hospital, silently strangling an urge to set the nearest medical oxygen canister on fire and cackle.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth eventually makes his way back to the ship (because bread) and now the group is all together. Also, Flaeyn pops in at this time. He was on the ship all along. This ship is, by the way, the Eggman ship the Questers use to get around.
Flaeyn: "Oh hey guys." :|
Dragoshi: *Yeah, totally.*
Andrew gets in his seat~
Metal Man (GM): Ship goes to take off, because. Anyway, the ship slowly takes off, piloted by Garrick. The ship's now flying towards Continia.
Deloth: "We're building and we need workers."
Flaeyn: "Building what exactly?"
Kenku: "GUN is too busy at the moment to spare any, so were checking out a lead. Were building a new stadium."
Flaeyn: "I... see..." He says, scratching his head.
Deloth: "That, and I'm looking for something from a hospital that isn't filled with douchebags."
Metal Man (GM): The ship flies over a bleak, empty wasteland.
Flaeyn raises a brow. "A hospital? Is something wrong?"
Metal Man (GM): It's heading towards a vaguely ruined power planet area.
Andrew: "Now Deloth, just because Dr. Home can pull off miracles, does not mean the common hospital can handle the... whatever you needed to do."
Deloth: "Yeah, something's wrong. Haven't those people ever heard of bedside manner?"
Metal Man (GM): The ship lands slowly. Because Garrick is a careful person who lands ships. Indeed, there's a big blue boulder sitting right out here in a wasteland. Of course, nobody explained why they came to this to Flaeyn, so he is probably confused.
Deloth nudges Flaeyn and leans over to him.
Flaeyn is probably confused. "Hm?"
Metal Man (GM): The ship's door opens. Garrick begins fidgeting with the control panel. Apparently something busted and he will be busy with it and catch up to the others in a moment.
Deloth: *quietly.* "I'm looking for a way to perform an arm graft. ...Well. Maybe transplant is a better word."
Flaeyn: "I see... What exactly do you want me to do about it?"
Deloth shrugs. "You asked."
Flaeyn: "Right... How'd you lose an arm again?"
Aribar: *The one-armed half-elven ex-vampiric arch mage of Whaller exits the ship and starts towards the rock.*
Garrick comes out after the others. "Alright, so... blue rock."
Deloth: "...I didn't. Ari did. I'm hoping I can fix HIS problem."
Kenku follows the others out.
Deloth jumps out of the ship and looks up at the rock.
Metal Man (GM): Wandering out, the Questers are now gathered around the car-sized, cartoonish rock. It's a pale shade of blue.
Deloth: "...So why are we here again?"
Garrick: "Someone who can help us build the stadium is apparently under this rock, so..."
Kenku goes up to knock on the rock.
Garrick: "If I were you guys, I'd get out fightin' gear... just to be sure."
Flaeyn: "A-ah... right..."
Garrick pulls Kenku back by the collar before he does that.
Kenku blinks at Garrick "Hey... what makes you think their going to be hostile off the bat?!?"
Garrick: "You're a Quester. Always assume they're gonna be hostile off the bat."
Garrick: "Don't do anything STUPID... but be wary. Not hostile, but wary."
Andrew: "I thought the card said kick the rock?"
Aribar: "Garrick's correct; more often than not, we're attacked. Maybe not immediately, but at some point in time..."
Metal Man (GM): Even if they're not hostile off the bat, they could be hostile on a bat.
Garrick: "Now... I'll do this. I'll blow up before you do."
Deloth gets both swords out. "Ready."
Garrick draws out his pistol, frowning before giving the rock a good, swift kick.
Kenku has one hand on his sword in case.
Metal Man (GM): The rock shakes for a moment, then moves to the left to the sound of a pneumatic noise.
Dragoshi: *Just keeps a hand on his bread and his blaster.* :x
Garrick raises his gun, glancing down into where the rock was...
Metal Man (GM): A man rides up on an elevator to greet the Questers. He has a shotgun, a yellow construction helmet, goggles and a stubble-covered face. And he's blue tinted.
???: "Well, what do we have here, but some potential customers... or enemies." He looks at the Questers, speaking in a Texan accent. "Who are you guys and what d'ya want?"
Deloth: "...Garrick, why do we never meet normal people anymore?"
Garrick glances to Del and chuckles before looking to the guy. "We're not enemies. We're the potential customers. And if things go well... we have a hell of a project for you."
???: "Well, it's about time. We crashed in this strange place and suddenly, everyone was attacking us." He chuckles, almost maniacally. "You shoulda heard the screams they made when we shot them all to death."
Metal Man (GM): He points to the elevator he's on.
???: "Come on down then, I have some things to show ya."
Garrick frowns, glancing to the others and shrugs, pistol still out, and walking onto the elevator without much else...
Dragoshi: "Yes, yes. I bet it was hilarious." *Nods, then follows behind Garrick.*
Aribar falls in with the others and heads onto the elevator. He slightly feels like he's walking into the lion's den here.
Kenku follows Garrick.
Andrew happily fans cards while walking behind Garrick.
Deloth heads onto the elevator as well.
Andrew: "Why does it seem that obvious weapons are popular? Nyah~"
Flaeyn follows Garrick.
Garrick: "So... who exactly are you guys?"
Metal Man (GM): As the Questers go down on the elevator, they see a massive logo appear on the shaft down below. http://tf2wiki.net/w/images/9/93/BLU.jpg
???: "We're the builder's league united, and we build stuff. And shoot stuff. And then build stuff again. We refer to one another by codenames, because it's dangerous work. I'm the Engineer. What do you guys call yourselves?"
Garrick: "We're... all of us here... are the Questers. People call me Garrick."
Metal Man (GM): The elevator lowers down into what looks to be a base similar to one the Questers might have, only everything is strangely outdated looking. Down to the tape drivers, mainframes, and some 60's scientists in labcoats managing them.
Deloth: "People call me a freak of nature."
Engineer: "Well, Garrick, we here at BLU believe that any problem can be solved with enough determination... or explosions."
Garrick: "See, I'm liking you already."
Engineer: "So, what can we do for ya? I'm sure we have a pricing plan which fits your needs."
Garrick: "Well, we're wanting to work on something huge. Big time huge. A stadium."
Metal Man (GM): The lift stops and he gets off, walking over to some file folders. He idly tweaks a shorting light fixture with a wrench.
Engineer: "Something really large? Well. It'd be our first big job since we got to this realm." He looks through some blueprints. "Of course, you know these things cost money... and I bet you're not the richest of people. Nobody seems to be in this place."
Deloth: "I've got... 25."
Flaeyn sighs at his lack of money.
Garrick: "Yeah, we don't have that much cash on us... but see, that's where we excel."
Engineer: "Yeah. That'll hardly get you a cheeseburger at the nearest town."
Andrew: "I have pocket change sadly~"
Dragoshi: "What he said."
Engineer: "Don't worry. We have something you could do which, to us, is worth more than money. Or even fancy, futuristic technology I can hardly understand."
Garrick: "That being?"
Engineer: "On another continent, somewhat far away... our arch-rivals, RED, have set up operations. If not stopped, they can and will take over this entire planet."
Garrick: "...seriously? RED?"
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a map. He points out a place near the bottom of the map. http://ssq.metalman88.com/partmap.PNG
Flaeyn: "Galactic Federation Outpost?"
Engineer: "Yes. Reliable Excavation and Demolition. Their plan to take over the world is nearly complete."
Garrick: "That's the guys under Samus and them."
Engineer: "No, to the... left of that. Whatever that place is." He points to the island to the left of it--the blank one.
Garrick: "And just what is their plan?"
Engineer: "They have nuclear missiles and laser satellites ready to go. Once deployed, they will hold the entire world hostage. Any government which does not submit to their evil plan will be destroyed."
Flaeyn: "All... right..."
Garrick: "...well. That ain't good."
Engineer: "Unlike us, they warped with all their weapons a'destruction with them, so we've built this nuclear-proof shelter."
Deloth: "And how do we know that this isn't a double-cross?"
Aribar: "I wonder if Red Text happens to know about these red never-do-wells?"
Engineer: "Because of this!"
Metal Man (GM): He gets out a wrench and swings at Deloth. It flies right through his head.
Engineer: "If we were on other teams, you'd be dead."
Engineer: "I've got sentry guns set up everywhere."
Flaeyn: "Or you could just have bad aim..."
Deloth: "...maybe I should change my fur color to blue just in case."
Engineer: "Don't think so." He takes out a shotgun and shoots right through Flaeyn like he isn't there.
Garrick: "...huh. That's... odd."
Engineer: "Unless there's a spy amongst you, there isn't a thing we can do to one another, since it appears we're on the same team."
Flaeyn: "...? I'm not hurt?"
Aribar: "Go team blue?" *The mage is glad he's wearing blue clothing.*
Andrew: "Hmm, So does this work in reverse?"
Engineer: "You mean, do the Red guys have friends like that? Most likely."
Andrew lightly pokes Engineer with one of his cards.
Metal Man (GM): The cards go right through him.
Engineer: "Yeah, I'd hope so. although this world is strange. Respawn times are at least three times as long as they should be."
Garrick: "...respawn times???"
Flaeyn: "Respawn... times? We respawn here?"
Garrick: "Are you talking about a lives syste--wait... Okay, let's talk about this later. Right now, let's get this whole RED thing settled."
Aribar: "You can... Come back from the dead as well?"
Deloth: "...No wonder we never die."
Engineer: "Well, yes. Of course, it's a bit messy, but we do. You're a lot like our long lost cousins from some other dimension. Let me guess, there's some group of people who look like you but are evil."
Garrick: "Uh, Drag?"
Dragoshi: "Not that I know of, anyway."
Garrick: "The Quester Hunters?"
Dragoshi: "Then again, they--Those guys are long dead, Garrick."
Engineer: "See? I told you. Although they could have been lost in the transition."
Garrick: "Yeah, but how much more opposite to us can you get?"
Engineer: "Weird stuff goes on in this world."
Deloth: "So. Who else is on this team?"
Engineer: "Just a few people of note."
Metal Man (GM): A man runs in at an extremely high speed. The Questers can hardly see him.
Engineer: "That's the... Scout."
Garrick: "...boy can move."
Andrew: "I would pity my reverse clone... I mean, he would just sit in a corner acting sad and muttering about those crazy Panthers."
Deloth: "Ya think?"
Scout: "Who are these slow losers? I mean, come on!" He walks right through you. "They just stand there like you do! I almost thought they were RED scum for a moment there!"
Engineer: "No, they are clearly on our team. I think. I've tested shooting at them."
Scout: "Let's find out for real." He runs off.
Metal Man (GM): A guy in a gas mask walks over.
Engineer: "That is the... Pyro."
Pyro: "Mmmph mmmmmph mmmmmm!"
Metal Man (GM): He shoots a stream of fire at Garrick's face. Nothing happens.
Deloth: .oO(Finally, a group as dysfunctional and screwed-up as we are. I CAN CONTINUE LIVING!)
Metal Man (GM): He then wanders over to Kenku and goes axe crazy on him with the fire axe. Nothing happens.
Garrick will, of course, instinctively dodge and draws his gun, pointing it at the man. "Alright, enough of that."
Pyro: "Mmmph! Mmmm."
Andrew: "... I wonder."
Kenku stumbles back for a second before noticing.
Flaeyn: "It's pointless we can't fire at them anyway." He says to Garrick.
Andrew goes for a flying tackle hug at the Pyro.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew flies through him.
Dragoshi: "..." *Just... blinks.*
Andrew: "Thought as much."
Garrick sighs, lowering his gun, looking to the Engineer.
Pyro: "Mmmmmwa? Mmmmph."
Garrick: "Alright... so... RED. Why haven't you guys tried taking them out?"
Engineer: "We had no real transportation." He picks up a weird platform and sets it before the Questers. "Our teleporters all stopped working. Broken. No reason why. I recalculated the reality warping index. This world's reality warping index is now below the minimum required for warp speed."
Flaeyn: "Wait, we can't just... fly there by ship? Or something?"
Engineer: "In fact, if it went any lower, I would have to tell the Scout to stop drinking that radioactive soda."
Garrick: "No, WE can... they don't have a ship, by the looks of it."
Engineer: "You got a ship that flies?"
Garrick: "That's how we got here."
Flaeyn: "And what's stopping us from--yes, in fact we do."
Engineer: "Well then, we can split this up. Normally I and a number of people would go n' settle RED ourselves, but you want us to build for you, right?"
Garrick: "Aye. But we're talking about a stadium. And I mean big."
Engineer: "With enough bangs of the wrench, I can build anything."
Garrick smiles, looking to Drag. "I like this guy a lot."
Engineer: "I just need to design it, so I'll need to go on location. If it's like the one we're in, it shouldn't be hard. Just like home, only a different color."
Andrew: "Just as a side note, you need to make sure it can withstand a... collection of attacks of different elements and styles."
Engineer: "Maybe some day I can show you it, when I find a new reality coefficient that can warp us all safely home."
Garrick: "Maybe with a few changes. We'll hash out the details later, methinks. Right now, what say we go pay these RED fellows a visit?"
Engineer: "Of course. All our buildings are made to withstand a pitched battle and accommodate sentry turrets. Well, if you want to start out with the RED guys first, sure. I'll get the others."
Metal Man (GM): He walks over to a strange woman. She nods and speaks into a microphone.
Evil Woman Voice: "All team members report to the elevator immediately!"
Garrick turns to the Questers, motioning them all forward.
Engineer: "They will be here in a moment." He gets on the elevator.
Andrew: "Ooh~ I love that voice~"
Dragoshi: *Nods, and moseys on along to the elevator. Whoo.*
Kenku nods and heads for the elevator.
Garrick gets on the elevator as well.
Andrew gets on the elevator.
Flaeyn boards the elevator.
Deloth steps back onto the elevator. Well. This was interesting.
Metal Man (GM): The Questers see eventually a one-eyed black scottish man, a giant russian guy, a german medic, and a soldier guy, to name a few, in addition to those they have seen.
Flaeyn: "Oh hey more crazy people."
Metal Man (GM): It's nearly as random as the Questers' team. They just happen to all be human.
Andrew then silently sends off another email to Red-Text about the red team. Also asking about how he is doing...
Aribar: "Wait, Engineer?"
Metal Man (GM): The Heavy is currently busy hugging his gun.
Aribar: "I make no promises, but there is a very slim chance that I could warp your team home."
Garrick is staring pointedly at the Heavy's gun.
Engineer: "Well, sure. Once we're done with your project, though. And RED must perish."
Garrick: "...that... big... but... it... big..."
Aribar nods and begins to wonder if he would really want to test out his Plane spell like this.
Heavy: "Sasha, it's time to kill some more fools!"
Deloth: "...Garrick? Are you okay?"
Dragoshi: *Just makes a low whistle at the Heavy's huge ol' gun.* :x
Garrick: "Big gun... ...biiiiig gun..."
Garrick looks down at his pistol, sighing softly before holstering it.
Andrew: "Hmm." *Andrew looks for two of one type of member.*
Deloth snaps his fingers in front of Garrick's face. "Snap out of it, man, you're our impromptu team general."
Garrick: "Uh... right, right."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew doesn't see any at this moment.
Heavy: "Big gun is all mine, staring man!" He holds it aloft and feeds an ammo belt in it. "You will see how useful it is soon!"
Kenku puts his sword away and asks "Hey Engineer... how fortified is RED's base?"
Metal Man (GM): The group gets on the ship.
Engineer: "I reckon they've got a whole armory, with guys just like us, only painted red. And that means an evil version of me, too. You have to watch out."
Garrick follows up as well, taking the pilot seat and starting it up. Since he's rolled and done it three times already, he's pretty much got simple flying with it down to a science.
Kenku nods and looks over at Garrick as they take off.
Garrick: "Don't worry. We've got this down at least somewhat to a science."
Flaeyn: "Roger I suppose its all up to you then."
Dragoshi: "Pretty much, yeah."
Garrick takes off without much worry, giving the engines a good deal more juice than last time.
Metal Man (GM): Anyway, the group is on their way.
Engineer: "There's one guy you really have to look out for. He... smokes cigarettes."
Flaeyn: "What about it?"
Garrick sets auto-pilot on and turns around, his eyebrows going up.
Engineer: "He can disguise himself as any one of you. Or me."
Garrick: "...you mentioned him. A spy?"
Engineer: "He can kill anyone with a stab to the back. And with the respawns in this place..."
Andrew: "Then where is your team's version?"
Flaeyn: "How far does this ability of his go? Just appearance?"
Engineer: "Well, our team's version is in the field. He said he found a way to the RED base. That was... a week ago. I can only think he tricked some people in the town to taking him there."
Flaeyn: "Ah... so we're going to see if he's been captured or not too... right?"
Garrick: "These guys don't strike me as the 'capturing' sort."
Engineer: "Well, capturing isn't practiced." He sighs. "More like, point blank shots to the face. Since neither of us stay dead for too long, even here."
Flaeyn: "Well, that's fun."
Engineer: "Just a day, maybe. Which is really long. But still not permanent."
Flaeyn: "Like I said, how far does this mimic ability go? Does he just simply copy appearance?"
Garrick: "Yeah, good point. Does he do weaponry, abilities, moves...?"
Andrew: "Does his smell change? I mean, if he smokes then we can smell it on him~"
Flaeyn: "He might have the various symptoms of smoking--hairy tongue and the like..."
Garrick: "...hairy tongue???"
Flaeyn: "Yeah, doesn't your tongue get hairy after smoking or something?"
Garrick: "...no, Flaeyn."
Dragoshi: "..." *Blinks.*
Garrick: "Besides, even if it DID... how could."
Flaeyn: "Hold out your tongue?"
Garrick: "In combat, numbskull!"
Engineer: "You could probably... smell it. I never really thought about it."
Flaeyn sighs. "Just using it as an example, Garrick. Calm down."
Engineer: "Best way to check is this."
Metal Man (GM): He swings the wrench through Garrick's head again.
Engineer: "A spy would die from that."
Garrick: "Yeah, well, we can't really do that to each other... we'll just have to play it by ear." *He turns his chair around, flipping over the instruments.*
Aribar: .oO(Now I've got to wonder what would happen to Deloth if he was still possessed..)
Garrick: "We've got a few minutes before we're at this place. Engineer... do they know we're coming?"
Engineer: "Well, not precisely. Although they have a sniper. He could probably see us from a distance... if he's facing the right way. Ours got lost in the city and hasn't returned yet."
Deloth: "Hope he doesn't get shot in an alleyway somewhere."
Garrick: "Mm... alright, well, let's still stay on our toes. Remember, you guys may be able to respawn, but since it takes a while, you're gonna have to watch each other's asses."
Metal Man (GM): The ship is nearing what looks like a desert continent.
Flaeyn: "Alright... so they've got all of our counterparts and more?"
Garrick: "They don't have counterparts for us, I don't think. If they do, we're kinda boned."
Engineer: "Yeah." He looks around. "Don't be surprised if a number of us get blown up. It's a common thing. How often do you guys explode?"
Garrick: *mutters under his breath.* "More than enough for some, not enough at all for others..."
Flaeyn: "I don't believe I've felt the pleasure of my limbs being blown off, no."
Andrew: "Not once yet. I have lived on the critical existence line however. Some people know it as the 0HP principle."
Dragoshi: "I've been blown up a lot. I've kinda gotten used to it in all honesty."
Garrick eyes Andrew with a exasperated look. "...right."
Dragoshi: "Except for that one time with the spaceship but that's a different story."
Deloth: "I've decomposed under a tower for a decade. Does that count?"
Engineer: "Just wanted to know, because you'll probably blow up a bit more. Although you seem to be made of tougher stuff. What with all that armor you wear."
Andrew looks down at his shirt. "Erm?"
Dragoshi: *Has no armor.* :V
Garrick flips on a few sensors, if we have any on this rig, and tries to get a lock down on this place...
Deloth: *No armor. Unless you count the BELLYFUZZ OF MANLINESS.*
Flaeyn: *No armor.* :|
Engineer: "Now, we've scoped out the area." He must see the Questers differently... hmmm... He takes out blueprints of the enemy place.
Deloth: *...with the little poof of it on the chest area.*
Metal Man (GM): It's two large buildings side-by-side with a wide-open door, and a second floor which overlooks the opening place. All the other entrances have been removed. It goes underground into some spy-movie esque area with hallways, eventually leading to what is marked as 'intelligence headquarters.'
Deloth: "Looks... deceptively easy."
Garrick: "Agreed." *He turns around, looking over the blueprints again.*
Andrew: "Garrick, the Critical Existence Line or Point does exist." *He frowns.* "Although few people hit it on the dot at the turning point."
Garrick: "Andrew, shut up."
Kenku: "We probably need to send someone in to scout it out... or at the very least, maybe bombard it."
Garrick hrms, then turns back around and flips a few more switches.
Deloth: "I can make things explode with a thought. Will that help?"
Andrew sighs to himself and thinks. .oO(In a world where there is evil versions of people, magic, Part-People, and respawn times, he is disbelieving in the Critical Existence Line.)
Kenku: "From how close?"
Deloth: "I dunno. I never had enough things to explode to test it."
Garrick: "Alright, this is how we'll do this." *He turns back around, regarding all of them.* "BLU guys, you have the most experience with all this. We're gonna let you guys take the lead."
Garrick: "Do what you normally do. We'll back you up as we go along."
Engineer: "Explosions are good." He looks to Garrick. "Okay! We'll open the way for you."
Metal Man (GM): The ship is nearly there. He points to the entrance.
Engineer: "There's a sniper out there. Let's get him with your ship."
Garrick: "Make sure you do what you need to do to keep this Spy fellow locked down."
Aribar: "This thing has weapons?"
Garrick: "We got a few cannons."
Dragoshi: "And missiles."
Garrick: "I've gotta fly this rig. Someone look for me."
Metal Man (GM): It's a two-story gray building, with the top level having a patio-like area. There's also some crates on the bottom near the entrance. It seems abandoned, but obviously there could be a sniper hiding in there.
Aribar: "We should have a code word just in case we get split up and the Spy tries to disguise himself as one of us."
Garrick: "Good call... erm..."
Andrew: "Red Bunnies. They would never think of it."
Garrick sighs softly. "We'll do something from our--wait a minute..." He pulls the ship back a bit, flipping on the auto-pilot for a moment and turning around to face the Questers and BLU. "Pardon me for a moment."
Aribar: *Looks out the window in a vain attempt to search for the sniper!*
Dragoshi: "Huh? Oh. Sure."
Garrick draws his pistol, putting a single bullet in each of the BLU guys in turn.
Dragoshi: "Spy check?"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar finds nothing.
Garrick: "It would be our luck."
Metal Man (GM): The BLU guys are all unaffected.
Dragoshi: *Decides to make a vain attempt of his own.*
Engineer: "Yeah, I checked a couple times. RED spies don't seem to have found our base."
Garrick takes a seat in his ship again, satisfied. "Anyone see him...?"
Dragoshi: *Whispers to Garrick.* "I do." *Points out where he saw a hat edge.*
Aribar: "I'm spotting nothing."
Garrick slowly nods once, smirking, bringing the ship around. He kicks the boosters into a dead stop a good few hundred yard before the drop point and unloads what this rig has on that area of shadows.
Andrew: "Um... Well, so much for the silent method."
Engineer: "Silent? Only a spy is silent."
Metal Man (GM): Everyone hears some guy yell and blood splatters on the wall.
Engineer: "All right, we'll lead the way. Watch yourselves!" He waits for you to land.
Garrick: "Alright then. Let's get this train wreck a'rollin'." *He drops the ship into a steep, sudden landing, kicking the door open and heading out, pistol in hand.*
Rinith: *gets his swords a ready.*
Dragoshi: "Let's do it." *Jumps outta the ship, bread in one hand, and Egg Blaster in the other, lookin' ready to kill some jerks.*
Deloth whips out both swords and hops out of the ship. Lock and load!
Kenku gets out of the ship is sword at the ready, looking for an enemy he can undercut.
Andrew readies his power glove and deck of playing cards.
Flaeyn jumps out, still a bit confused, readying his sword.
Metal Man (GM): The Engineer motions to the Scout. The Scout gets in front.
Engineer: "You guys follow the Scout. I'll keep your ship safe."
Garrick: "Right then. Lead the way, slick."
Kenku does his best to keep up with the scout.
Dragoshi: *Tries to do the same.* :x
Scout: "All right. You guys just don't get in my way and watch me run circles around these idiots." He takes out a baseball bat. "It's time to play ball!"
Metal Man (GM): He then runs straight at the door into the place. Following him is the guy in the gas mask and the soldier.
Rinith: "Heh." *gets out of the ship last.*
Deloth starts running. Dang, this guy can move.
Andrew whispers to the engineer. "The Password is Red Bunnies~"
Garrick heads after them, running fast as he can.
Andrew follows behind the rest~
Metal Man (GM): The Questers can keep up... fitting just between the Scout and the Pyro. The group runs right in. At least, they think you do. An bloodied Australian guy tries to strafe everyone with a machinegun. The Scout runs out of the way, but the Sniper injures the Pyro a little. The Soldier's behind the Pyro. The machinegun is a pea shooter.
Dragoshi: *Takes Ow. Kinda. Sorta.*
Metal Man (GM): Anyway, Scout gets dibs, and runs up into his face, swinging a baseball bat at him.
Metal Man (GM): The Pyro then shoots fire at him.
Rinith: "Gah! damn it."
Sniper: "Arrrrgh!" He falls over, on fire and dead.
Scout: "Gotta watch out for the Australians. They'll headshot you. Unless you cave their skulls in! BOINK!" He runs down some stairs.
Dragoshi: *Runs on along.*
Deloth heads down the stairs, two at a time.
Garrick took the damage as well from the machine gun, not able to dodge it really, and keeps moving himself, taking the stairs just like Del.
Metal Man (GM): The Scout rounds a corner, only to be brutally machine-gunned to death by an unseen shooter.
???: "Hahahaha... Hahahahahahaha!"
Metal Man (GM): The Medic runs up behind the Questers.
Medic: "Watch out... they've got a sentry gun there! Any of you have long range explosives?"
Kenku stops short, having no way to get in close, at least right now.
Garrick: "Del, you're on deck."
Medic: "It should be just around the corner!"
Metal Man (GM): He tries to heal the Questers, but his gun can't seem to heal them. He heals the Pyro's wounds.
Deloth: "Let's see, how am I going to do this without exposing myself..."
Medic: "Sorry, I would heal you, but it seems you are not compatible with my medi-gun!"
Dragoshi: "Ah well."
Garrick: "No worries, doc. We can take a beating."
Dragoshi: "We'll survive." *Nods.*
Garrick: "I'll distract it... let's see..."
Deloth: "...I gotcha, Garrick."
Metal Man (GM): Respawning is apparently as limited as the Questers' own is.
Garrick gets a hold of the dead Scout, dragging him over.
Metal Man (GM): Garrick hears a beep and a click but he's too fast and too small a target.
???: "Eh? Who's there?"
Metal Man (GM): ...It's the Engineer's voice.
Garrick: "You're gonna have to do this fast, Del."
Deloth sends an Explode at where the beep was coming from.
Metal Man (GM): There's a sudden explosion.
???: "Sentry down!"
Garrick: "GO GO GO!"
Metal Man (GM): The Medic and Pyro run ahead.
Deloth dashes around the corner and charges the RED Engineer!
Garrick runs in as well, trying to lock down a target...
Metal Man (GM): Here is the enemy Engineer. Alone and unsupported, he fires a shotgun shot at all of the Questers. They all dodge. It's relatively poorly aimed.
Deloth hops out of the way and stabs at the RED mechanic with his swords!
Rinith: *dodges.* =/
Metal Man (GM): Of course, note that the Sentry gun fires multiple shots.
Garrick grunts as he takes the shot, his pistol barking out a series of shots.
Metal Man (GM): Pyro is out of range. The Questers fire at him this time. He goes to hide behind what looks like a gas dispenser. He gets hit by Garrick.
Andrew uses copy file on the shotgun.
Dragoshi: *dodges the Shotgun and blasts the dispenser with a fire-aligned Ele.* :x *Why? Well, why not.*
Aribar fires three weak blasts of electricity at the Engineer. White Lightning x3.
Deloth: *Explodin' a dispenser here.*
Rinith: looks for a RED guy to leap on.
Kenku attempts to dodge under the sentry and get one on the Engy.
Metal Man (GM): The dispenser is damaged, however the Engineer is taken out by lightning.
Deloth: "Yeah, the Scout's got his bonk, I've got my boom."
Metal Man (GM): The way is clear, leading down to the lowest part of the base.
Deloth cracks his knuckles and continues onwards.
Medic: "We're almost there, but... this is too easy!"
Rinith grabs the engineer's shotgun. =/
Andrew: "Bleh. These objects are hard to copy!"
Metal Man (GM): Rinith gets the shotgun, but all it does is recharge his attack energy.
Kenku walks slowly down.
Metal Man (GM): Almost like it adds ammunition.
Dragoshi: *Follows on along...*
Garrick: "It won't be easy for long... we're gonna get ambushed soon... keep moving." *He keeps moving as well, his pistol out...*
Andrew follows along, cards out.
Garrick: "Okay, so, that's their Sniper and their Engineer... what else have they got?"
Dragoshi: *Still has his blaster and bread ready.*
Kenku: "Probably a scout, a Pyro, and a Heavy... and their spy..."
Medic: "They have a soldier, medic, demoman... spy... ...Weird how you know their names like that."
Garrick: "Don't be mean, Kenku..."
Flaeyn: "Hm. Wonder if the spy's already replaced one of us."
Garrick: "That big guy wasn't THAT heavy looking. Beefy, yeah, but heavy? Nah..."
Metal Man (GM): The Questers walk on down into the control room. It's seemingly empty.
Kenku looks at the Medic. "Figured they were the same codenames as you." He said with a smirk.
Deloth: "... We need some mines."
Kenku looks over the control room, seeing if he can tell what does what.
Garrick: "Could your spy have taken them all down...?"
Andrew: "I have an idea~"
Kenku: "Wasn't BLU's spy missing?"
Garrick: "He's in here."
Andrew runs out in the middle of the room then uses hidden file on himself~
Garrick: "Somewhere. That's what I wa--idiot!"
Metal Man (GM): Andrew walks into the room. Nothing happens.
Rinith: "So... how do I use this thing?" *carrying the gun now.*
Flaeyn: "Finger on the trigger, and pull."
Medic: "I'd say they're not here... we can probably begin to plan to blow it up now."
Dragoshi: *Just stays behind...*
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a giant saw and smashes a glass pane, breaking into what appears to be a big computer room.
Deloth: "Any points I should target for max explosion factor?"
Medic: "Hm... over here, of course!"
Garrick: "...right... everyone keep your eyes open. This is screaming trap..."
Deloth steps into the computer room, looking around suspiciously.
Garrick moves in as well, covering Del's flank.
Deloth: "...Maybe one of us should head back to the ship, just in case."
Andrew: "You should know me better than that Garrick, I don't run into a room unless I have a plan."
Kenku walks slowly in behind Del, and looks to one of the computers.
Garrick: "No, I know that you are an idiot. And acting like that will get you killed."
Aribar follows the others.
Andrew: "The Cloud Cuckoo Lander, thank you very much."
Garrick: "Now be quiet." *He moves in slowly with Del, his eyes peeled, checking the corners...*
Metal Man (GM): The computer room is abandoned; various plans to 'nuke the world' and 'rule with an iron fist' are taped to the wall. A counter is slowly counting down. The computers are old, entirely tape-based.
Andrew tries to log on~
Metal Man (GM): Andrew type into what he thinks is a computer.
Kenku sees the counter "Uh oh" he says, and tries to figure out what I means.
Metal Man (GM): It's... A typewriter.
Andrew: "Wow, Nice."
Metal Man (GM): The only thing here is a stack of notecards with little slots in them. The Medic looks at them.
Dragoshi: "Do we just... burn them... or what...?"
Medic: "Ah, that must be their evil program."
Metal Man (GM): He knocks them over onto the floor.
Kenku: "Uh guys... either were a couple minutes to doomsday... or the island is..."
Medic: "Not anymore!"
Deloth torches the cards with a Fire Ele for good measure.
Dragoshi: *Dragoshi is confused!*
Garrick nods at Del before looking to the counter.
Metal Man (GM): The counter says there are 30 seconds remaining.
Garrick: "This tech is old for us. Efficient, but old. It'll take me a while to understand it, and we don't have that kind of time."
Andrew: "Self Destruct timer? ..."
Metal Man (GM): There is a large red button with a little glass thing protecting it from accidental pressing, that says 'EMERGENCY DESTRUCT'
Medic: "Hm. I reckon this button is their main weakness."
Garrick: "...best bet. We blow the place and run."
Metal Man (GM): He flips open the thing and then hesitates.
Andrew checks the label to see if it has been tampered with.
Medic: "Shouldn't we check back with the ship?"
Metal Man (GM): Nope, it's the original label.
Garrick glances at the timer, growling softly before pulling out his radio.
Medic: "We just walked in here... that means..." He gets a bad look on his face. "Bad things could be happening!"
Garrick: *radio.* "Engineer. Come in, fast."
Flaeyn: "Well... first off can we definitely escape when we press that switch?"
Medic: "They have to be somewhere..."
Deloth turns around and slashes the Medic, juuuust in case.
Engineer: *Radio.* "Spy sapping mah---" *KZHT.*
Deloth: "...Not good."
Garrick: "...dammit... they outflanked us."
Kenku: "Crap... we don't have much time... we need to either blow it or run before it blows itself."
Deloth: "I TOLD you one of you people should have stayed."
Garrick: "It's probably a launch, not a blow up."
Medic: "We don't have much time! If they are over there, they might take our ship! Whatever it is made out of!"
Kenku: "Then we need to set the destruct."
Andrew: "Well, press the button and lets run!"
Garrick: "GO! Everyone back to the ship now!"
Pyro: "Mmmph." The Pyro runs out, back the way the Questers went earlier.
Rinith: *gets ready to hit the switch.*
Deloth makes a mad dash for the ship, wings a-flapping.
Garrick: "Rinith, GO!"
Andrew runs for the ship.
Rinith: *runs then.*
Garrick hesitates... then turns and runs as well.
Kenku slams the button and runs for it.
Dragoshi: *zooms after the group.*
Flaeyn runs along with the others, a bit dazed.
Metal Man (GM): Indeed, a missile is launched. But the Questers have something else to deal with. Once they're back to the entrance... they see that their ship has been... compromised. The Pyro stands there, finding it hard to burn the ship, which has been locked. Inside is a spy, who appears to be at the controls. The Enemy Spy presses a button on the Quester ship and speaks.
Enemy Spy: "Ahem." *Clears throat.* "GENTLEMEN."
Garrick doesn't pay much attention to the whole Enemy Spy thing, he's too busy going at the door of the ship, trying to get it down.
Metal Man (GM): Garrick tries to break in... and notice the spy's stuck some weird device on the entry controls... on the inside.
Deloth tries to pop open the door with Lockpick!
Enemy Spy: "The world will soon be ours, regardless of your little machinations. But I can guarantee your safety... ...If you switch sides now."
Metal Man (GM): There's a wrench laying on the ground. That might help.
Andrew decides to take one of his cards and jiggle it between the door and the frame.
Deloth: *Well, yeah, there's that too.* *He grabs the wrench and takes a minor-leaguer swing at the ship's door.*
Metal Man (GM): *SMASH.* It defies reality and breaks the door open.
Enemy Spy: "...Uh oh."
Dragoshi: *Opens fire on the spy!*
Metal Man (GM): He gets out his revolver and shoots at Del. *PONK*
Enemy Spy: "Aaaaaargh!"
Andrew copies the Revolver.
Garrick unloads his pistol on him, firing one shot directly between his eyes.
Metal Man (GM): He dies on the ship's controls.
Deloth: "Ow, that was mean."
Aribar: *Fire Ele x 5 on das spy!*
Metal Man (GM): Ew. Spy blood everywhere.
Dragoshi: "Shut up." *He grabs the corpse and hauls it out of the ship.*
Garrick: "Nicely done, Del. Drag."
Andrew checks the spy corpse for loot.
Dragoshi: *Casually twirls the blaster and slides it away.*
Medic: "...Well..." He looks around. "We have to do something about that missile... yes! I have got it!"
Deloth: "Hot damn. I always knew those lessons in blunt weaponry were worth it."
Metal Man (GM): He points to the Questers' ship.
Deloth grabs the wrench as a trophy.
Medic: "We will shoot it down mid-air!"
Dragoshi: "That'll work perfectly."
Medic: "Get the ship going!" He leaps aboard it.
Garrick: "Gonna be a trick with the door off, though..."
Deloth: "Right." *gets back into the ship.*
Dragoshi: *Jumps into ze ship!*
Metal Man (GM): The door is kind of broken.
Garrick gets onto it as well, strapping in and pulling on his headset.
Metal Man (GM): In fact... Upon getting in, the Questers would see weird little boxes stuck to nearly every surface.
Deloth: "Oh, what NOW?"
Dragoshi: *Makes sure to get rid of the device the spy slapped on first.* >_>
Medic: "...We need to get all of these off of here if we are to get anywhere."
Rinith: "I call shooting from the door while its open" *gets on the ship and kneels, grabbing on to something for take off.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope, nothing on the Spy body.
Garrick: "Electrical sappers... interesting..."
Deloth tries to grab a box and rip it off.
Dragoshi: *Goes to take these sappers off the damn ship.*
Metal Man (GM): The Questers can't seem to take off... the sappers are all over the place.
Kenku starts trying to smash sappers.
Rinith shoots sappers.
Deloth drops the wrench in the floor of the ship and uses all six arms to rip up sappers.
Andrew has a close tech look at these things.
Garrick puts his knife into each one of the cockpit panel, trying like mad to get the thing going.
Metal Man (GM): While shooting up the sappers, something happens outside the bridge window. A rocket suddenly blows up the Pyro.
Medic: "Oh no! They've been waiting for us!"
Rinith: *shoots his gun at the first bit of movement he sees out there.*
Deloth: "Oh, you THINK? *ripripripriprip."
Metal Man (GM): There is... a one-eyed black man with a weird gun... a soldier... another version of that fat man with a massive gun...
Medic: "They must have killed those who stayed here..."
Metal Man (GM): *BOOOM.* A grenade hits the side of the ship.
Deloth: "Which guy's the Demoman?".
Medic: "The one throwing grenades!"
Deloth uses Explode on that guy, then!
Andrew uses three Tarrot Cards in a row.
Kenku tries to continue to remove sappers.
Metal Man (GM): Oddly, it doesn't work on the guy himself.
Garrick: "I'm trying to get this thing running, dammit! Keep them from unloading on the ship!"
Deloth: *Explode on his grenades and shit, then!*
Dragoshi: *Sighs, and re-readies the blaster, shooting once at the group of jerks, both times being a three-way shot at 'em.* :x
Rinith: *TWILIGHT BLAST.*
Metal Man (GM): They're a bit far out there, so, the Questers' attacks don't have quite the accuracy they'd want.
Deloth: *Wonders if he can explode the Demoman's ammo.*
Metal Man (GM): Their luck is kind of suck. Rinith injures one of them. Unfortunately for you, they're a bit far away.
Garrick is still working on getting the ship running. The power is kinda all over the place with those sappers going...
Rinith: *uses twilight blast on a missile.*
Garrick: "DAMNIT! I can't lock the power down!"
Metal Man (GM): Garrick gets sapper glass in his fingers, but luckily it doesn't hurt. The other guys shoot at the people who shot out the door.
Andrew goes over to help Garrick after dodging.
Dragoshi: *Takes damage, then.* :x
Rinith gets hit by the rocket's blast radius but gets out of the way of other attacks.
Deloth: "I might have to berserk these guys with the wrench..."
Rinith: *tries to use his cover ability to protect those who are shooting out the door.*
Aribar waits until this round of fire passes before shooting out of the door. An orb of fire rocket towards the Soldier! Fire Ele! ...
Garrick flips a few extra switches, trying to reallocate the power from the locking system into the starting sequence.
Metal Man (GM): The ship's about 50% up.
Kenku tries to help Garrick.
Garrick: "I'm getting there!"
Deloth tries an Explode on the Demoman's... grenade belt? If he's got any boomboom things visible, they're getting 'sploded.
Andrew goes to help Garrick by removing more of those energy sappers.
Metal Man (GM): Deloth's attempts to explode fail. Apparently they have precise triggers. Makes sense, otherwise few Demomen would survive being shot even once.
Dragoshi: *Tries to shoot the Demoman down.*
Metal Man (GM): They're much luckier now, but so are the Questers. The intense shooting takes down the Soldier. Noting that shooting the Questers isn't working... They open fire on the ship as it becomes fully operational!
Deloth: *ducks and covers.*
Andrew noticing that Garrick messed up bumps him out of the controls for a second.
Metal Man (GM): Garrick flies the ship through the top half of the building, and a handful of bullets scrape the hull. The ship is now airborne... but barely.
Garrick snarls and punches Andrew straight in the face.
Metal Man (GM): The ship's sparking and breaking. Andrew is sucker punched.
Garrick: "GET YOUR GODDAMN HANDS OFF ME YOU FUCKING ASS!"
Andrew: "I deserved that one."
Deloth grabs the wrench again and looks at it frantically.
Medic: "Okay... we're up!"
Andrew: "No need to curse."
Deloth: "How do you fix things with this?!"
Metal Man (GM): He points at the wrench.
Medic: "Smack the control panel with it! Now!"
Dragoshi: "Just do it!"
Garrick: "Better than nothing, Del!"
Metal Man (GM): The control panel starts being repaired.
Garrick: "Hit it again!"
Andrew: "Would harder whacking work better?"
Metal Man (GM): All that ammo the Questers picked up which had no purpose now has a purpose. A strange number goes down as Deloth smacks the panel.
Deloth: "I'm going as fast as I can, dude!"
Metal Man (GM): It's soon repaired up to about 90%, which is good, but not perfect. The Questers are out of metal now. The Spy blood is gone. Phew.
Garrick starts getting the engines back up to full operation... he cranks them up and tilts that sucker straight back, launching into the air.
Deloth sits down, panting and wheezing.
Rinith: *watches out the door.*
Metal Man (GM): ...The ship is now approaching the missile, which, according to the ship's sensors, is going to escape into outer space and create a number of enemy satellites if you aren't quick... and the door needs to be stuck back on.
Deloth: "This... is one helluva wrench."
Kenku finds a seat with a sigh.
Metal Man (GM): Otherwise, once the ship gets much higher, it might just run out of air.
Garrick: "Sit down and strap in! I'm not gonna be sad if you fall out."
Andrew straps in.
Deloth drops the wrench and tries an Explode on the missile before it can go any higher!
Andrew: "You know, I wonder if it needs human power to repair, or if it was tied on a string over the systems it would work..."
Garrick: "Someone get the door out! We're... two hundred miles before we hit low atmosphere!"
Rinith: "Throw me the wrench!"
Andrew: "Medic, do you know?"
Garrick: "SHUT UP, ANDREW! NOW IS NOT THE TIME FOR QUESTIONS!"
Deloth: "ONE THING AT A TIME!"
Dragoshi: *Tries to open fire on the missile with the Egg Blaster!* >_>
Rinith: *gets the wrentch himself and slams it on the door.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth hits the missile, but the missile is tough. It will take many hits to destroy it.
Computer: "Air levels decreasing. Danger. Danger. Unable to pressurize."
Dragoshi: *Keeps opening fire.*
Deloth: *Fire Eles at the missile! Nine of them!*
Garrick brings the guns to bear on the missile.
Rinith: *keeps whacking the door with the wrench.*
Garrick: "SOMEONE GET THE FUCKING DOOR CLOSED!"
Medic: *cough.* "I... don't... know!"
Deloth breathes the last bit of air out of his lungs and switches off his breathing for now. Dammit, c'mon, c'mon...
Metal Man (GM): Without magical metal to do the work for the Questers, they have to improvise.
Rinith: >.>; "Some one help?"
Andrew gets up and tries to fix the door.
Metal Man (GM): Andrew smashes the door back on.
Computer: "Pressurization restored."
Rinith: "Thanks, see? This is why I hate going into space."
Metal Man (GM): The missile takes many hits. It speeds up, nearing upper altitude. The ship is running out of power. There are two options: 1. Attempt to fly up further, giving the Questers not just one but two chances to blow up the missile. Or 2. Try to take it out now and hope it dies.
Deloth: "I'm all out of fire magic!"
Metal Man (GM): The missile is flaming and spazzing out, but it's got a gas-dispenser like thing on it, so if not substantially damaged it could keep going.
Medic: "I'm a doctor, not a rocket scientist!"
Garrick: "...well... might as well try."
Andrew: "Just think, if it fails I die and you never have to hear my voice again Garrick!" *He smiles.*
Metal Man (GM): Up to either magic or controls.
Deloth: "ANDREW! SHUT UP!"
Aribar: *Fires 9 Fire Eles at the gas dispenser like thing on it!*
Rinith: "Well... I got nothing this time." >.>
Garrick lets out a rumbling growl, the air around him growing hot and slamming back into the others, his lips rapidly going through a series of words at rapid speed, slowly getting louder as the heat grows hotter, then grows cold as it centers around his hands. He slams his hands together, growling out a very familiar sounding series of words. "Bring upon me the light of the Solarians. Let it fill my hands, my heart, my soul, and let it. bear on what I deem is true! Bring this power to me and let it pour through, as water through a stream!" He lets out a growl, praying that this works as he slams his hands onto the panel, hoping this burst of Magitek WORKS this time. He snaps the wrench out of Andrew's hand, then and pours the magitek into it...
Metal Man (GM): The original Magitek attempt does not quite do the job. However the wrench comes alive of its own accord and, using Andrew to supercharge the attempt, the attempt succeeds.
Andrew: "Hmm. Magical Technology."
Garrick: "Slam it into the ship!"
Computer: "Ship is overcharged."
Andrew wacks it to the words of "It's Technagical~"
Medic: "What, you're using the same technology as this... to power your ship? Well, I may as well try this!"
Metal Man (GM): He points the medigun at the ship. The ship glows funky colors.
Kenku blinks "What the crap?!?"
Deloth: "...That is a powerful piece of machinery you've got there."
Metal Man (GM): Actually it's just the normal medigun. But in that case... substitute using the ship as a battering ram.
Medic: "This is the gun I heal people with!"
Metal Man (GM): The ship is now well able to chase the missile... just one problem. Aboard the missile is a Scout... whom is attempting to activate the missile's main machinery early!
Medic: "Quick... blow it up!"
Garrick locks onto the ship, unloading everything he has on the ship...
Deloth: "Ari! If we combine our magic, we may be able to blast this thing!"
Dragoshi: "...I have magic too, yanno."
Aribar: "We could try..."
Deloth: "FINE! WHOEVER!"
Andrew: "RAM THE DAMN SHIP INTO THE MISSILE, WE HAVE A HEALING GUN. ... Did I just yell that?"
Garrick: "I'm already going full speed, dammit! I can't go any faster!"
Kenku: "Someone blow the scout off then!"
Rinith: "I don't have to much magic but I could try to throw in something."
Deloth tries to muster up whatever energies he's got left for one last blast of magic...
Garrick tries like a sonuvabitch to get this thing revved faster, drawing power out of the shields since they're being healed and pouring them into the engines...
Andrew: "Route the shield power into the speed! If possible, I don't know the system specs yet, I was busy looking over another system last night."
Rinith can't. >.>;
Dragoshi: *Also tries to help throw in a little magic.* :x
Flaeyn tries to blow the missile with his Sereharde02.
Metal Man (GM): Flaeyn fails to stop the missile. The Scout laughs as he is about to press the button. Then some guy appears behind him! *SLASH.*
Garrick: "...FUCKING YES!"
Deloth: "Who IS that?!"
Andrew: "Ah, there is the spy."
Garrick: "It's the SPY!"
Deloth: "..." *He just collapses back into his seat.*
Andrew fans Deloth with his cards.
Metal Man (GM): The spy waves to the Questers. The missile breaks up, sending a portion of it aside as the Quester's ship re-enters the atmosphere.
Andrew: "Nice work back there Deloth. "
Deloth gives a weak thumbs-up, drenched in sweat. "Guys... I don't normally drink, but dammit, I need something to drink when we get back."
Garrick brings the ship back down, then, sending it into a bit of freefall before turning the nose back down and heading back to the BLU base.
Metal Man (GM): Some pieces of it don't explode entirely; since the Questers didn't explode it and the Spy couldn't destroy it entirely. But the planet is safe for now. And all the enemy team people have been blasted to bits.
Medic: "I must say, you did a good job."
Deloth: "...Want me to carry that wrench?"
Andrew: "Nice work on the gun Medic." *He hands Deloth the wrench.*
Deloth: "I declare this wrench to be my personal trophy." *He leans back against his seat, shutting his eyes.*
Rinith: "Can we get out of the void of life you all call space now?"
Medic: "We should head back to base... everyone is going to be there."
Garrick: "We're moving into the atmosphere now."
Metal Man (GM): The ship re-enters the atmosphere. The ship has taken a bit of a beating. But for now... RED is defeated.
Rinith: "Good..." *falls in to a sitting position and sighs.*
Garrick flips a few switches, setting the flying to auto-pilot and direct a good, solid, steady course toward BLU base.
Deloth: "...wow. I must have a metric ton of adrenaline in my system; all these bullets wounds are already starting to close."
Andrew taps Garrick on the shoulder. "Sorry for acting the way I do Garrick, but you see, I was pulled from a boring office job into this world. Technology that can shape this world exists and I have the ability to scan and copy and attack! This is one big adventure to me, and I just can't help but me a cloud cuckoo lander in serious moments."
Garrick then slumps a bit himself, staring at his hands and sighing. "Shut up, Andrew."
Andrew: "You could at least listen." *Looks Hurt.*
Deloth: "Want me to hit him, Garrick?"
Garrick: "No. No, I'm not going to listen. I'm going to tell you this."
Andrew: "You should be resting Deloth."
Garrick turns around, jabbing his finger at Andrew.
Deloth opens one eye and listens to the impending explosion.
Garrick: "I'm sick and fucking tired of you new guys thinking this is a game. It's all a big, great adventure. It's not. It's a battle for your life and lives of every decent person on this planet. I'm at my wits end. This is the final straw."
Metal Man (GM): The Medic leans in the background.
Garrick: "If so much as ONE person pisses me off anymore, I'm putting bullets into them until they stop moving. That goes for everyone here. All of you. It's a fucking promise."
Kenku says nothing, just has a look of disgust with himself.
Flaeyn crosses his arms, and sighs.
Deloth slowly puts the wrench on his lap and starts clapping.
Flaeyn: "A bit extreme..."
Garrick glances to Del tiredly before looking to Flae.
Andrew: "... Serious statements like that do not deserve to be clapped at, but silently approved."
Garrick: "A bit extreme? You want to talk to ME about extreme?"
Rinith ear folds. >.>
Flaeyn: "You aren't impressing anyone. Stay down Snowball."
Metal Man (GM): The ship is nearly back to the blue rock.
Deloth: "I felt that silence wasn't enough of an approval for that statement."
Garrick unbuckles his belts now that they're level, standing up, one eye twitching.
Andrew walks over to the medic. *whisper-really-low.* "Do you think he has a bit too much stress in his life?"
Deloth just stays silent and continues listening.
Garrick: "Lemme tell you extreme. Extreme is getting ripped from a fucking WAR with people that are trying to enslave your planet into ENDLESS WAR. Extreme is knowing your father goes out of his way to do everything and ends up dying from a fucking disease that makes him 80 by the time he should be 30. Extreme is putting my life on the line EVERY GODDAMN DAY to make sure I do my job right. I don't press license plates, I don't grow corn. I punch robots in the face. I've stood toe to toe with a fucking GOD that ripped me asunder and put me back together the way he feels is best."
Dragoshi: .oO(Extreme is getting hit in the face with a goddamn spaceship.)
Garrick: "I've been thrown out, BILLIONS of miles into space, trying to get to the only home I've ever known just to find it under siege for the NINETEENTH TIME. I've had best friends turn on me, trying to claw my eyes out. I've watched good, solid heroes get torn to shreds for just doing what they do. And then, when it comes down to it, I learn that EVERY FUCKING THING I DID turned out to make things worse. It made a demon of a man more powerful than anything you'll ever see in your LIFE."
Medic: *W* "I do not know. All I know is that we can't shoot one another, so this is not a problem."
Garrick: "And I stood in his face, with the only power I ever knew, the only thing keeping me together, and had it RIPPED from me like a damn scab.
Andrew: *w* "The thing is, I think he can shoot me."
Garrick: "That's fucking extreme."
Flaeyn raises a brow. "You're obviously mistaking me for someone who gives a damn. If you've got time to complain, then you've got a bit of time on your hands to visit hell with me for the tenth time." He sighs. "Whoever told you to be yourself couldn't have given you any better advice."
Garrick: "So when childish, little people who think they know BETTER than me get in MY face and tell me what to do? THAT KINDA PISSES ME OFF!"
Andrew: *w* "He did kinda shoot a team-mate already."
Garrick: "..." *snnnnnap.* "..."
Deloth scoots away a tad.
Andrew: "Oh dear."
Aribar: "Garrick... It may be a good time to calm down."
Garrick takes a few steps forward, his eyes directly on Flaeyn, pulling back the slide on his pistol as he goes.
Flaeyn: "Go ahead and shoot me. Then I can just wave, 'Oh hey. Shooting an ally. That's definitely how we get the job done.'"
Garrick: "I don't plan on shooting you. I plan on killing you."
Flaeyn: "... That wasn't a good idea."
Dragoshi: "I will not condone any teamkilling."
Deloth stands up, wrench in hands. "Ooooookay. This is where I may need to say no."
Flaeyn: *Isn't mad at all though? And is pretty rather calm?*
Medic: "If only I could heal you."
Dragoshi: "Beating the crap out of someone, sure, why not."
Medic: "..." He waits for the ship to land.
Dragoshi: "Killing... no. No. No. No."
Aribar uses Kinesis to take the gun out of Garrick's hand.*
Deloth: "Garrick, we need a pilot right now. If you must kill him, kill him once we reach solid ground."
Metal Man (GM): The gun flies out of Garrick's hands like it was never in them.
Garrick watches his gun fly away... "...I don't need it. I'd prefer to do it with my bare hands, anyway..."
Andrew: "... Sigh."
Garrick moves over to the ship, slowly sitting down and flipping a few switches, bringing it in for a landing.
Flaeyn moves his arms in front of him, as if to welcome him into an embrace. "I'm all yours."
Aribar: "Garrick, when has Quester-on-Quester violence ever ended on a good note? Phantom? Myself? Charles? Deloth?"
Deloth sits back down. "Ari, save your breath."
Dragoshi: "...Did you really have to mention 'ol Chucky, Ari?"
Deloth: "Once a person hits that tier of rage, there's no going back."
Garrick (GM): Everyone can very easily see Garrick twitch at the mention of Charles.
Rinith: "So now... whats next?"
Aribar: "... It probably wasn't the best idea."
Deloth: "No. It wasn't."
Kenku: "We probably should talk to whoever from BLU is still alive, and in charge."
Dragoshi: "...yeah, that was pretty dumb."
Metal Man (GM): Yeah.
Andrew: "Who knows, it may snap him out of it."
Metal Man (GM): The Medic walks on out of the ship. He's the... only one alive at the moment.
Rinith: *gets up and quickly follows after.*
Metal Man (GM): Well. An ill-timed Australian walks out of the base elevator.
Deloth gets up and out of the ship, carrying the wrench.
Sniper: "Where did everyone go? I tried to hitch a ride and got lost."
Garrick stands up again, turning around, walking off the ship as well.
Metal Man (GM): The spy is... AWOL. Possibly dead.
Aribar: "Battle's over."
Metal Man (GM): Since he infiltrated a missile. Then blew it up.
Sniper: "Ah well, you're alive, so I guess we're the winners, right?"
Deloth shows the Sniper the wrench. "Will you be wanting this back?"
Sniper: "Not me, but the Engineer will want it back."
Kenku follows the medic and greets the sniper. "You're down people, after confronting RED... which leave a question... what do we do to stop RED before they respawn?"
Flaeyn: "Oh right. He's probably respawned by now."
Garrick reaches into his pocket, pulling out a small golden pin. He glances it over for a while before throwing it down near everyone's feet.
Dragoshi: "Though we'll have to clean up the mess as the missile wasn't completely destroyed..."
Sniper: "We've tried to duplicate it but failed."
Garrick: "I'm done."
Deloth: "Dang. I was hoping I could keep it as a troph-- ..."
Aribar: "Garrick, when has one successfully quit the Questers?"
Deloth silently hands the wrench to the Sniper.
Garrick: "Don't care."
Rinith: *eyes the pin.* O.o
Deloth: "...I wish you wouldn't leave. But... I'm not going to stop you."
Sniper: "We can getcha your own... similar thing... later on, of course."
Flaeyn: "See you. Not like you could've survived this line of work anyway."
Sniper: "Just not this one. It has... weird powers."
Aribar: "Where are you going to go? What will you do? What does one do after he's done being the savior of worlds?"
Garrick twitches again at Flaeyn's words...
Andrew: "... Shut up, Flaeyn."
Kenku nods "Seriously shut up!"
Deloth slowly turns around to Flaeyn. Forget sparks in his eyes, he's got full-on flames.
Garrick: "It doesn't matter anymore. Sell my gun for coins."
Metal Man (GM): Welp, nothing stops Garrick from wandering into the environs, or even to New Chicago.
Deloth: "You never. EVER. *EVER.* Talk to a veteran that way."
Garrick: "Last bit of help I can give."
Andrew: "Garrick needs time to sort things out, he hates that he just raged at a team member, and he feels like crap."
Deloth: "I DEMAND that you apologize. Now."
Garrick: "Fuck no. I don't hate at all that I just raged at Flaeyn."
Deloth takes a step closer to Flaeyn, glaring.
Aribar blinks and tries to think about how the group is suddenly splintering.
Flaeyn: "Roger. I'll be sure to keep that in mind." He says to Deloth. "I apologize, Sir Garrick." The Grim Angel says to Garrick with a Poker Face.
Garrick: "No, you don't. You don't give a flying fuck."
Deloth cocks back and flings a punch directly at Flaeyn's face.
Aribar: "Garrick, are you going to leave before you see the building of the Stadium? Or the rebuilding of Westop-Deloth!"
Metal Man (GM): And I wouldn't exactly call it splintering.
Flaeyn won't dodge, he takes it.
Metal Man (GM): More like old members arguing with new ones... which in fact has been a norm. Take it from me... man did Ruvyn hate my guts.
Dragoshi: *Just... stares at the shitstorm, very unimpressed.*
Deloth: "Listen. There is not a word strong enough to express how much rage I am feeling towards you right now."
Garrick: "Del... Just... stop."
Deloth: "This man has just saved your life and you just spat in his face."
Dragoshi: "This is idiotic. Wake me up when it's over." *Goes to find a wall to lean against and sleep on.* :x
Aribar walks after Garrick and hands him his gun back. "Garrick, don't give up..."
Andrew: "... Enough, all of you. Just enough... please... please..." *tears well up in his eyes.*
Deloth: "No. I can't stop and drop this now."
Flaeyn: "I'm spitting in the fact he complains a little too much for my taste. That's all." He bows. "My deepest apologizes."
Julian: *And Julian exits the base now, finishing off a sandwich consisting of lettuce, tomato, cheese, and a mysterious slice of meat.* "Damn, Heavy knows how to make shit..." *Sees the commotion.* "The fuck's going on here?"
Garrick: "It wouldn't do any good, Del."
Medic: "Well, it would appear that your other frontman became angry at some comments of some other member of your team."
Deloth: "Flaeyn. If I ever catch you with that high-and-mighty, I-don't-care attitude again, I will wipe the streets with you and I will make it very, very painful."
Medic: "My attempts to use the medigun to heal it have failed. I am a doctor, not a therapist!"
Aribar: "Garrick wants to quit, Deloth wants to kill Flaeyn, and I'm debating about testing a spell to send people to a place where they can cool off."
Julian: "That's the attitude he always fuckin' got."
Sniper: "All I know is I'm waiting for Engie to respawn, because damn, this wrench is heavy. Why must yanks make everything oversized and heavy?"
Flaeyn: "Roger. I'll be looking forward to it, Deloth."
Sniper: "Oh right. The Russians do it too..."
Julian: "...Wait, you're quittin'? When we're so close to fuckin' gettin' away from these douchebags?"
Dragoshi: *Is asleep due to stupidity.*
Kenku looks to the Sniper "Will RED be respawning at the same time?"
Deloth grabs Flaeyn by the collar. .oO(I swear, just one grab, just one grab and pull and I could have his throat on the streets...)
Dragoshi: *Disturb at your own risk.*
Sniper: "Well, yes, but it takes them a while to rebuild the doomsday machines."
Flaeyn looks Deloth straight in the eyes, "I'm not afraid of death."
Sniper: "They don't even know where we are."
Garrick: "Put him down... it's the way he is. He doesn't understand."
Sniper: "Of course..."
Julian: "Motherfucker I will HELP YOU an' Del kill his stupid ass if that's what it takes too keep you on."
Deloth: "Be afraid of ME."
Sniper: "You guys might kill yourselves for us. Why don't you guys just have a non-violence field like us?"
Metal Man (GM): He waves the sniper rifle through the Medic's head.
Julian: "Do that again."
Medic: "Shh! They clearly do not come from our realm, that is why!"
Garrick looks to Julian, then down to his gun, then back to Julian again.
Aribar: "Garrick, you can't quit. You've been leading us through this whole Stadium building affair, and more. Are you going to leave us in such a terrible affair?"
Kenku says "I see... so they won't be a threat for some time?"
Garrick: "I'm not a leader. There is no leader."
Rinith: *having no part in the argument, goes to talk to the NPCs.*
Garrick: "I just do what I think is right and you guys follow along."
Andrew: "... And why do we follow?"
Sniper: "Yes. Red remains a threat."
Andrew: "Because you are a good leader! Unless you are trying to kill us~"
Deloth: "There has to be a leader. Dammit, man, you can deny and deny all you want, but you've been the frontline man now and that should NOT change."
Julian: "So don't fuckin' be one! We get the stadium built, get the money, an' retire to a beach somewhere far away from Flaeyn, Nerd, Drago, an' the resta the furries."
Andrew: "Hey I am not a furry! Oh, wait, nerd, missed that."
Flaeyn: "No witty nickname for me?" He says jokingly. "I'm a bit insulted."
Deloth: "We've already got one, asshat."
Julian: "Motherfucker shut YO' GODDAMN MOUTH 'fore I knock it an' yo' goddamn eyes out. Can't snark if ya can't fuckin' SEE can ya?"
Rinith: "So then, you guys just 'Respawn' every day?"
Deloth: "Here, I'll help." *aims a punch directly at Flaeyn's left eye.*
Sniper: "Yes. Once a day."
Garrick sighs softly, slipping the gun back into his thigh holster and moving back to the pin... he picks it up and pins it to his ammo strap.
Aribar is now debating... He could possibly stop Deloth, Flaeyn, and Garrick from tearing each other apart, but Julian?... He casts Kinesis on Del to force him back.
Sniper: "Some kind of holdup is keeping it from happening though."
Metal Man (GM): Del punches a soft, squishy wall of air.
Garrick: "I've give it a bit longer."
Kenku asks the Sniper "Keeping what?"
Aribar: "Using each other as punching bags isn't going to help anything. Violence solves outer-Quester problems, not inner-Quester problems!"
Flaeyn tucks both of his hands into his pocket, watching the punch go into a barrier. "Right."
Andrew whispers to Aribar. "Can you make spells? Because if you can, try and copy the Blue Team's Anti-Violence shield..."
Garrick: "Del, just let him be. He's not going to listen to reason. Which brings to mind why the hell he's even here in the first place..."
Sniper: "Well, this argument seems to be delaying the respawn. Which is confusing."
Aribar: "Apologies, Andrew; I haven't written my own spells in a very long time... But can't you copy it directly?"
Deloth slowly drops his hands down to his sides.
Sniper: "I want to get back to 20 second revival. This place is too slow."
Andrew: "It's not an enemy ability. So sadly no."
Deloth: "You think we're a bunch of dopes, Flaeyn? Then leave. Go your own way. We'll see if you're missed."
Aribar: "... Why not switch teams, Andrew?"
Flaeyn: "I never said any such thing."
Kenku: "I see... wow you guys must not be set to survive long... would there be any way to shut down RED's respawn?"
Andrew: "Because I am still not sure if it would work. It's more of a passive skill than an attack."
Garrick: "I'm just a whiner." *He stares at Flaeyn.*
Sniper: "Eh. You want the non-violence field, you can steal it from RED."
Garrick: "Is that it? I just cry and complain?"
Sniper: "Switching teams would send you into their base."
Flaeyn: "Mostly today really."
Kenku: "I don't think I want to do that..."
Sniper: "And then... well... they couldn't kill you, but you might be trapped in a corner with people trying to kill you day in and out."
Garrick: "Understand, maybe, that you DON'T understand what we've been through. Get it through your head that maybe, just maybe, you don't understand."
Andrew: "Would swapping back to blue bring me back here?"
Flaeyn: "Okay." He simply says.
Sniper: "Yes, after another respawn timeout. Which is almost a day long on this place."
Garrick: "Right. I believe you."
Julian: "Good to hear." *Walks over to Garrick and puts his arm around his shoulder, then gestures grandly to the open air.* "Jus' you wait, man. Mega bucks, big-ass house, fast cars, dinin' in style with a world class chef. Teams of HOT yoga instructors keepin' us in shape, maids 'n servants attendin' to our every whim."
Metal Man (GM): Engineer walks out, looking around.
Andrew: "... Next time a fight breaks out, I am stealing that non-violence feild."
Garrick lets out a small chuckle, looking to Julian with a half smile.
Engineer: "Looks like we got 'em. I dunno what held up the respawn... where's my wrench?"
Metal Man (GM): The Sniper hands it to him.
Julian: "On the weekend? Tanned babes knockin' on our door every two hours. That's gonna be our life, jus' you wait an' see."
Engineer: "Oh, thinking of trying to build yourself a better sniper rifle?"
Deloth: "Put it to good use there..."
Sniper: "No, that would be impossible."
Kenku blinks. "That was fast... didn't you just die?"
Deloth: "...you got a spare wrench?"
Engineer: "Yes. Yes I did." He looks to Deloth. "No, but we can build one later. I'll need one of... your weapons."
Deloth: "... Ah, well. Time to upgrade anyways, isn't it, Dad?" *He hands the Tasword to the Engineer.*
Andrew: "Excuse me, Medic? Can you try your gun on my cards? Just curious about something."
Kenku blinks. "Uhh... guys... I think the respawn time is accelerating... Or at least reducing."
Andrew: "The healing gun that is."
Medic: "Eh?" He presses the button and it clicks. "I cannot heal cards, sir!"
Deloth: "...I really wish getting angry didn't make me feel so damn good."
Engineer: "Gimme a while and I'll show you my new blueprints. Heheheh."
Julian: "You want a sandwich?" *Turns his head towards Garrick.* "Heavy makes some good shit."
Garrick: "...sure. I haven't eaten in a while."
Kenku: "What's this about a sandwich?"
Metal Man (GM): The TF2 people go back to simply minding their business. Yes... there are sandwiches. Better sandwiches than what Eggman makes.
Rinith: *looks to Deloth.* "Do all you veteran 'Questers' have those pin things?"
Julian: "Fuck off, furry!" *Julian leads Garrick inside to the BLU Canteen.*
Deloth smiles slightly and brushes some fur aside to reveal an old-style Quester badge.
Kenku slides back a little at Julian's comment. "Of all the..."
Andrew: "I hope that Garrick manages to find some rest with Julian..."
Dragoshi: *Still sleeping.*
Julian: *Kenku may have noticed Julian having the same pin attached to the collar of his baseball jersey.*
Digifanatic: *Still elsewhere on one-mission break.*
Rinith: "Hmm, well, I think I might get a sandwich" *nods to Deloth and goes off to get food.*
Kenku follows the others, still somewhat shocked by Julian's comment.
Aribar decides to just get out his book and study it now. The half-elf also has the old Quester badge (and the Franklin badge) on his cloak.
Deloth just leans back and tries to calm down the last bits of emotion inside of him. After something that stressful, he needs some good rest... *mumbling.* "My hands are still shaking..."
