Super Smash Quest² - Story - Chapter 63: Virus Busting
Date: 4:35:52 PM, April 16th; 4:35:25 PM, April 18th, 2009.
Serges: "It will be many months before I can restore this. Hence the need for an army to ensure none stop me. Hm?" *He inspects the cannon.* "Yes... I can." *He takes it and sets it in a pile with other junky-weapon pieces.*
Panzer: "What is it that you want from Dopplers?"
Serges: "Well, I was simply showing it to you. But if you are associated with them, they will probably miss you." He wipes a hand across a dusty wall. "Return to them and report you have neutralized a potential threat off to the side, in whatever language you use to speak to them." He then hands Panzer a data disk. "This disk contains the access codes to the Zero Virus' armory. I believe it would be better for you and your friends to have the weapons than Maverick Hunters or Zero Virus slaves."
Panzer: "Very well. Where is the armory's location?" *She stores the disc away, re-crossing her arms.*
Metal Man (GM): He gives you a map of various locations... one sec. Oh. The Armory in the Doppler thing.
Serges: "The armory should be just before the chamber where the Zero Virus is sitting. It should be easy enough to see... due to a proliferation of signs proclaiming it is an armory, and huge... locked doors."
Panzer: "Alright. What makes you think that that... Thing and I will get along? And do you care much if I kill it, if I can?"
Serges: "I don't. Ensure he is dead if your associates don't kill him first."
Panzer: "If I do, that you leave either you or me with an army of Ronin..."
Serges: "The more scattered and useless the fringe Mavericks are, the more space for my operations."
Panzer: "Alright. I guess I'll see you when I return, or you can radio me." *She writes down her freq for him, hands him the paper. Her writing is hard to read.* "I'll see what I can do. They think that I'm disinfecting SE right now so they have both an ally and a ship for the moment, giving that Dragoon tried to rip ours up."
Serges: "Ah." *He crosses his arms.* "Well, you should know what to tell them." *A door much like that which leads out of a bunker opens up for you to leave.* "I have left a transport vehicle for you to use." *Indeed, there's a short-range flying walker mech sitting there.* "Just say you stole it. Naturally." *He rolls his head around and goes back to his infernal work.*
Panzer nods, and collects her weapon from where is is, probably outside or something, reloads it, then goes to the mech, powers it up and starts heading back.
Metal Man (GM): Yup. We return to the Quester side. They were facing off against Claw. The Claw has recovered from the horrific eye stabbing. He is still a bit torn up, however.
Claw: "You'll be the first victims of the new order for that... you... Maverick Hunters!"
Metal Man (GM): He tries to grab Zero with his massive claw. Zero blocks it. So he moves to grab Aribar with it. He grabs Aribar and chucks him into a wall, dealing 50 damage. Finally he hurls a shiny sphere object at Deloth.
Metal Man (GM): *SMACK* 50 damage and knocked backwards. You're awesome, Aribar!
Deloth gets conked in the head and goes head-over-heels. *Minor Heal 3 times for 45 HP. EoT.*
Metal Man (GM): Claw is looking torn up. Just a few more hits to take him down. Hopefully.
Digifanatic: *I guess it's his turn. He quickly takes out his last Mush, downing it while running up to Claw and going for the left shin with Icy Kick. He quickly gets back his footing before trying to nail him in the face with a Light Ray.*
Metal Man (GM): You hit once, as he leaps to the side of the Light Ray.
Zero: "Enough of your nonsense. You aren't even a real Reploid!"
Claw: "Of course I a--- Gah! Argh!"
Dragoshi: *Dashes towards Claw and attempts to tear into him with his Laser sword!*
Metal Man (GM): He dodges one. The second laser sword swing hits the ground and deals 5 damage to Dragoshi. The glitch one. He dodged that one. Panzer's mech flies in through the wall.
Claw: "Gah! Who gave you THAT???"
Deloth: "... Where did THAT come from?"
Dragoshi: "..." *Low whistle.*
Kenku: "Nice bot Panzer."
Panzer: "Stole it."
Claw: "Hmph!" *He reaches out to grab Dragoshi.*
Metal Man (GM): He grabs Dragoshi for 45 damage! Then he throws him at Panzer! Panzer: Roll Defense + 1 check. *SMACK* The mech takes the damage.
Panzer: "Poor Hawk."
Metal Man (GM): Claw growls and then lunches for Deloth with the massive claw. Dodge check, Deloth. *SMACK* 45 damage.
Deloth mutters a few curses under his breath before launching a trio of Electric Eles at this bastard's head.
Metal Man (GM): The hawk mech possesses a charge cannon. Or you can snipe at him. Whichever.
Panzer fires the mech cannon at Claw. <3
Metal Man (GM): A charge shot is rate 1 and uses INT + 1 to fire. *BLAM* He's knocked backwards, now looking near death.
Panzer: "Fuck you bish!"
Digifanatic sighs and hands Deloth his last Mushroom (+66 HP) before trying to smack Claw with a Fire Punch to the neck...
Deloth: "Thanks, Digi." *Gulps it down now, if possible.*
Metal Man (GM): *Miss.*
Zero: "You can't fight all of us."
Claw: "I can and will!"
Metal Man (GM): He blocks the saber with his entire claw. He nearly blocks the attack but his claw is ripped off, leaving him... much less powerful.
Zero: "So now what are you. Declaw?"
Dragoshi: "No. CINO."
Claw: "I'll stop you even without my claw!"
Dragoshi: "'Claw in Name Only'"
Deloth: "What, Panz?"
Panzer: "No. Claw's new name is Deloth."
Dragoshi: *Aaaaaaaand, Dragoshi goes to slice and dice Claw into pieces!*
Deloth: "..." .oO(Why does she always hate me?)
Metal Man (GM): Hit, miss. Dragoshi wounds Claw some more, but hits a circuit and takes 10 damage in the process. Declaw stands up, heavily weakened, backing away but not moving out of the way.
Claw: "You don't know what you're up against... all of you will fall!"
Kenku charges in with a short swing, before thrusting with a grin.
Metal Man (GM): He dodges both of them as Kenku jabs his sword into a wall and takes 5 damage.
Claw: "I'll show you!" *He powers up... ...BOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOMBOOOOOOM. ...And falls over, a pile of debris.*
Metal Man (GM): Battle His body is leaned back against the door. His last action... ...was apparently to explode near the door, jamming it.
Kenku blubjs and laughs.
Editor's Note: I cannot even remotely guess what 'blubjs' was supposed to be originally. That's a first.
Zero: "We're going to need to get beyond that door. Perhaps the mecha?"
Deloth: "...Well, that figures."
Kenku blinks again.
Digifanatic: "Something like that to knock it down."
Kenku sees the bad shape Dragoshi's in and casts a little of his healing (Minor Heal X2)
Metal Man (GM): So, Panzer. Going to destroy the door, or will Zero have to do it?
Panzer crushes it.
Dragoshi: *Is in a somewhat better condition than before.* :x"Thanks."
Metal Man (GM): The door falls inwards. The mech, unfortunately, is too tall to take any further. Darkdata: Wish to join in, or stay on the sidelines? There's a weird, technicolor hallway inside. It looks to be almost some sort of cyber gateway.
Deloth walks into the hallway, looking around.
Digifanatic: *Heads down...* "A bit of both, I guess."
Deloth: "Digi, is this what LSD is like?"
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't know."
Andrew: "I don't think so, as I can still think without going off on too many tangents."
Digifanatic: "Why, what makes you think I'm a druggie?"
Andrew: "Drugs must mess with the brain too much to think logicaly."
Deloth: "Just asking, Digi, just asking."
Kenku starts to walk down the hallway.
Digifanatic: "Heh, alright... if we ever have to come back here, though, and Alex somehow finds his way back to the party, he might know the answer!" *Grin.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: Actually, you're inside the building. The base thingy. This hallway leads into a large, sort of glowing hallway. You can see hastily erected computer stations generating some sort of field.
Panzer abandons the mech to the side after shutting it down, and whatnots, then goes to join the group, looking for signs that point to the armory.
Andrew: "Hmm, force feild?"
Deloth: "Oh, great. Digi, can you get rid of those?"
Metal Man (GM): It appears to be just ahead. There is simply one issue: In the middle of a room dead ahead, a massive sphere of electricity and cyber energy blocks your path.
Digifanatic: "Oh, yeah, huh..." *Looks for some sort of lone computer terminal outside the field to hack.*
Panzer looks for an alternate path rather than to fuck with all that mumbo-jumbo.
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You see 3-4 such computers. Panzer: You would notice that one could climb up to the top of the ceiling and leap over the top of the bizarro sphere disturbance. Not a perfect evasion, but for a reploid it would be easy. Green.
Digifanatic: "Ah, let's see..." *Walks over to one of the computers, applies the Lappy and tries to remove the forcefield from the outside.*
Panzer scurries up the wall and over, then.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: It'd take an athletics check to properly jump over it, though. Not to worry, Digi has hacked in and turned it off.
Andrew goes to look at one of the other computer screens that Digi is not at.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer leaps... falls towards the sphere... *ZOT* the sphere vanishes... Panzer hits the ground.
Digifanatic: "That worked out well enough." *Logs out, repockets the Lappy and moves on* "It's that shade of green again..."
Panzer grumbles. "Fuck you Digi."
Deloth: *Snicker... snicker snicker...*
Dragoshi: *Walks past Panz.*
Metal Man (GM): The next portion of the rainbow weirdness is another blockage in the path... ...well, it's just a door.
Panzer: "Deloth, keep fucking laughing."
Metal Man (GM): It glows blue.
Deloth steps over Panzer, attempting to keep a straight face.
Metal Man (GM): It has a W logo on it. The doorknob is right there to open it.
Panzer landed on her feet, acctually, then goes to check out the door. She checks it for traps without really touching it. She finds a candy wrapper!
Kenku steps to the door as Panzer makes the search. "How safe does it look?"
Metal Man (GM): Panzer finds an old, empty box. Can't be sure about traps. You'd also see a mundane looking door to the right of this blue door.
Andrew takes a look at the mundane door.
Panzer: "I don't think it's very safe, personally, but I don't see anything harmful." *She steps back and to the side of the door, goes to snatch Deloth, and throw him into the door, the glowy one.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth: Panzer is trying to grab you. Do you resist?
Deloth tries to duck under her grab.
Metal Man (GM): Opposed Athletics checks. Panzer fails to grab Deloth. Who then fails to move far away from Panzer.
Deloth manages to duck under the grab. Somehow. "What the hell are you DOING?!"
Panzer shrugs, walks out and back to the mech, uses it to fire a cannon shot through the hall at the blue door.
Andrew looks at the non glowing door.
Metal Man (GM): *FWOOSH* The shot dissipates before it can hit the blue door.
Panzer: "I was going to make sure it wasn't rigged by using you, moron."
Metal Man (GM): The normal door is of similar design, no logo or glowingness though.
Kenku rolls his eyes and tries to open the non glowy door.
Metal Man (GM): It's not haze. It's glowing blue. The non-glowing door is locked.
Deloth: "..." *Entertains fantasies of Panzer being thrown in front of a firing squad.*
Kenku: "Hey could I get that lockpick spell Del?"
Panzer walks back. "Meh. I already hate this fucking place." She grabs a computer monitor and chucks it into the glowy door.
Digifanatic looks to see what kind of lock the normal door has.
Deloth: "...Huh? Oh, right." *He casts Lockpick on the normal door.*
Metal Man (GM): The normal door unlocks. Panzer hurls the computer monitor at the blue door. The monitor bounces off the blue door, which shakes and nearly opens.
Kenku steps in carefully.
Andrew opens the normal door.
Panzer looks for something heavier, letting the others do whatever. She must kill blue door.
Digifanatic: *Walks through the normal door.*
Metal Man (GM): Kenku walks into the room on the right. It has a number of glowing computer terminals. Panzer discovers she is the heaviest thing in the room.
Deloth heads into the computer room to get away from Panzer.
Metal Man (GM): The room on the right shows how the Zero Virus is made, and appears to be generating and sending various signals to a radio antenna. It has no other doors inside it, but, while you're inside, there's that whole stuff as I described.
Panzer sighs. Grabs another monitor, and finally the last monitor and throws them both at the blue door at the same time.
Deloth: "...Smash all that stuff?"
Kenku: "Hmm... must be the central system..." *He starts looking over them trying to discern stuff... and notices that and looks to Del.* "No... we need to shut it down carefully or there is a good chance their going to notice and probably move it to a backup."
Andrew looks for a keyboard.
Metal Man (GM): The blue door wobbles oddly. The knob nearly unlocks. It appears to be unlocked, so much that it'd just take a turn of the knob to open the blue door. Which, asides from being made of metal and glowing, seems almost normal.
Kenku: "You're up Digi, unless you want me to do it?"
Metal Man (GM): Andrew: There's one sitting right out there.
Panzer: "Fuck this. God." *She walks up to it and stands to the side, turns the knob and pushes it open, staying to the side.*
Digifanatic: "Hang on, I think Andrew's already going for it."
Metal Man (GM): Andrew: There is no obvious way to log in. Weird. Panzer: You flip the door open sideways.
Metal Man (GM): *ZOTZOT* A gun rigged to some sort of lever attached to the door fires where you would have been had you opened it normally.
Andrew looks under the keyboard.
Panzer knows better. She waits for the gun to stop firing.
Metal Man (GM): Once triggered the entire mechanism falls apart, revealing a room to the left of the computer room. It's a power generation room, and appears ill-maintained. The gun lands on the floor, out of ammo. Andrew: You look under the keyboard. Nothing but dust.
Digifanatic attempts to find a sort of subtle log-in device in the room.
Kenku: "Alrighty." *He says, and looks over at the computers.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi: You look everywhere. Perhaps there is a subtle log in device. But none are present in this room.
Panzer walks in cautiously, looking around for something that she might could use to further her various causes.
Metal Man (GM): Yes, a few zots and some walking, Digi. That would be the noise heard in the other room.
Andrew: "Hrm. I see."
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: Walking in, you'd see an old but functional modular power generator.
Digifanatic: "Hang on, heard some noise..." *Walks back to the other room, sees the glowy door open and the mechanism detached, so he enters.*
Metal Man (GM): It has one huge plug connecting it to this facility.
Panzer takes it and straps it to her back, then checks out the rest of the gunk in the room.
Metal Man (GM): Digi would see Panzer walking into the dusty power generation room. Panzer: Bit difficult, it's plugged in, turned on, and the size of a car. It has wheels but someone has bolted it to the floor.
Digifanatic: *Sees Panzer plugged into the generator* "Yeah, that could help the other room..."
Panzer looks for a wrench.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer isn't plugged into the generator--the generator is plugged into the wall. No wrench found.
Panzer looks ... AGAIN!
Kenku sees Digi leave the room, and Andrew stuggiling a little and decides to find a comp and try to discern whats going on with commands, or if the keyboard gives any sort of response.
Andrew sighs and decides to try a few letters on the keyboard anyway.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer would reason the wrench is probably in the other room, this one appears to be ill-used.
Digifanatic looks to see if there any computers in here that may aid Andrew's part...
Metal Man (GM): Andrew: No response. Digi: No, but the power generator is probably related to computers. It is plugged into the wall.
Panzer goes to the other room, grumbling.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer walks into the computer room. There, there would be a tool set sitting around. Digi: No, she didn't pick it up, it's stuck to the ground.
Panzer grabs it and walks back to unbolt the wheels.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer will be a moment to unbolt those. Meanwhile, the computers continue to resist any touching, since they appear to not be logged in. But there is no logging in device that you can see...
Panzer is muttering curses under her breath while unbolting shit.
Deloth: "...I could hit a whole bunch of random keys and see what happens."
Kenku: "Attempted that, no go."
Andrew decies to take a look at all the current screens in the room.
Deloth whacks his fist onto one of the computers anyways.
Metal Man (GM): They are blank except for a few which slowly pulsate, showing images of sine waves and data streams. Deloth whacks the computer. No response.
Panzer hears racket in the other room, walks over there after removing a few bolts, looks at the computers. "Can't log in huh?"
Deloth: "Nope. Can you?"
Panzer: "Depends." *She looks around for a plug-in spot for reploids on the computer somewheres.*
Metal Man (GM): The computers are standard computers... ...to a reploid. Although there's an unfortunate lack of places to plug in.
Digifanatic: *Walks back to the main room, where the forcefield used to be, and looks for a central computer.*
Metal Man (GM): They appear, at least to Panzer, to be advertising their existence on wireless frequencies. Apparently the next generation is wireless. Alas, Digi: You turned that computer off and disabled it.
Panzer looks at them blankly, sending a few wireless command lines to them.
Metal Man (GM): And turning it on would restore that huge... thing... in the way. The computer reacts. Apparently they weren't planning on reploids coming here. Speaking of that, you don't recall where Zero went.
Panzer: "What do you want with these computers, anyway?"
Kenku: "Shut down the signal, and then pick it for info."
Metal Man (GM): The computers do appear to be sending a radio signal of some kind.
Digifanatic: *Sighs, mutters a "Never mind" and walks into the computer room again.*
Metal Man (GM): And to Panzer, they would in fact be readily turn-offable, due to a lack of any security against Reploids. Indeed. Good thing both Panzer and Zero are here.
Panzer: "Alright." *She searches around in the computer for information about the signal, then grins. She suspects these are trasmitting signals to the Mavericks.*
Metal Man (GM): It appears to be the remote Zero Virus control program. With enough tech ability you could make sense of all the points and have a map of all the Mavericks. There is a remote chance of a true genius actually sending forged commands...
Panzer looks... Happy. It's really creepy. She opens up a prompt, ready to start something, then radios Serges silently, text mode.
Deloth: .oO(...Every time she smiles, a little part of me dies inside, I swear.)
Panzer: *Text* "Serges, I've found the radio that sends commands to the infected reploids, want me to shut it down or relay it's information to you? It's completely accessible to Reploids."
Kenku: "Are you ok Panzer?" *he asks, seeing the grin.*
Deloth: "...Panz, shut this thing down already."
Panzer: *Text* "I doubt I can forge out the orders, but you might be able to snatch control of the reins." *She isn't responding to outside stimuli at the moment.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer would get a response. 'I've been in that room. The problem is the Zero Virus monopolizes the signal. You'd have to kill him and activate it later. Which would result in losing most of the Mavericks. I'm afraid it's useless, otherwise I would have tried it already.'
Panzer: *Text* "Alright. Shut it down then?"
Metal Man (GM): 'Yes. Shut it down. Unless you want the entire Maverick army of the Zero Virus after you.'
Panzer: *Text* "Could be fun."
Metal Man (GM): 'I'm afraid it would also be very lethal and allow the Virus time to escape.' Others: you see Panzer sort of staring, blankly, at the console.
Deloth walks over and tries to find out how to shut the damn thing down.
Panzer: *Text* "Maybe, I'm sure we can do something with this later. I'll shut them down."
Digifanatic just lets her do he thing. He knows nothing whatsoever...
Panzer terminates the transmission and enters in the codes to shut the terminal down.
Deloth: "Finally. Geez."
Kenku: "Wait... don't shut it off yet, there may be someonething of use on there info wise"
Panzer: "Shut up. You could have never done anything about it, really. It's all wireless. It's shut down Kenku, it's just a relay station."
Kenku: "Oh ok."
Panzer goes back to unbolting the generator.
Metal Man (GM): The terminals all turn off.
Kenku: "Hmm..." *walks over with Panzer and check out what the generator runs on.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: You unbolt the generator. Kenku: It's a fusion generator. Very high tech. It is plugged into the wall with a single cable. It appears to be powering the entire base.
Panzer dusts her hands off and looks at it carefully. "Hmm." She wonders what to do with it right now... They might need power still in the base. "Where is Zero's stupid ass?"
Digifanatic: "Hopefully not turning on us."
Kenku looks at Digi. "Why would he do that?"
Metal Man (GM): Good question, you can't find him anywhere.
Panzer: "Nah. He's not able to be infected." *She tries to radio him.* "Zero?"
Zero: *Radio* "Oh, there you are. I found a room off to the side and took it apart."
Digifanatic: "Cause stranger things have happened."
Panzer: "What was in it?"
Zero: *Radio* "You find anything? The room I found was just an empty storage room. There's some large locked area I can't access."
Panzer: "We shut down the radio signals going to the Mavericks, then " *Explains* "What does the door look like?" *She sends out another message simultaneously, another text one that Zero wouldn't pick up.*
Zero: *Radio* "It's a trippy door of strange sorts... It's encrypted. I can't open it."
Panzer: "You're high on acid again aren't you?"
Kenku: *R* "We could see Del can pick it... dunno what else to say although."
Zero: *Radio* "I'm afraid it is my virus cousin who is tripping. No sane reploid would make a door linked to the cyber world. There's a side door, let me see if I can reach you."
Metal Man (GM): A door rips open into the room with the power generator.
Zero: "This place gives me a headache."
Deloth: *Tiredly* "Hiya."
Panzer looks at Zero. "Not really, stuff seems to be wireless in places. Lead me to that one door."
Kenku: "Hey... I'm guessing this place is basically shut down now?"
Metal Man (GM): He points out a glowing rainbowy door in the next room over. The power generator is actually still plugged in.
Digifanatic: *Walks back over to the generator room and sees his point* "Alright..."
Metal Man (GM): So it seems to still be powered.
Andrew: "You know, back in my day, computers where green and silver and we liked it."
Panzer walks up to it, and looks at it oddly, looking for a keypad or something similar.
Kenku: *Another glowing door...*
Metal Man (GM): There's no keypad. Maybe it's wireless too!
Kenku: "Green and silver?"
Metal Man (GM): Zero pointlessly slashes it, gaining no entry.
Digifanatic: "That door might just be glowing due to the cyber characteristics."
Panzer checks for wireless stuff.
Digifanatic: "Remember, when we went there we always saw that green aura..."
Metal Man (GM): It shows up on the wireless. Unlike the computers, it asks for some sort of encrypted message in an encrypted gibberish message.
Deloth: "Shame Ari's not around."
Metal Man (GM): So it basically spurts a bunch of gibberish over the remote link.
Zero: "I tried to open it but I don't know the key."
Aribar: *Draws flies in some forgotten corner.*
Panzer reads the crap off the CD and imputs it to see if it works. "Awesome. This is the armory where ZV is holed up at."
Digifanatic: "Well, if this is a direct portal as I think Zero suggested, we won't need him."
Zero: "Hm?" *The door inexplicably opens.*
Deloth: "...Wait, how do you know that?"
Panzer: "I'm fucking awesome, thats why."
Digifanatic: "Panzer had him queued up the radio. He said the door is linked to the realm."
Zero: "I'm not in the mood to ask. We have something to defeat."
Metal Man (GM): He walks into the next room.
Deloth: "Ha ha. No, seriously, how did you know that, Panz?"
Andrew: "Panzer has leethaxxor skills."
Deloth walks into the next room as well, sword out.
Panzer stays outside the door. She taps her head. "I know things and have good friends."
Andrew follows taking out his enchanted tarrot cards."
Panzer looks through the now-unlocked system to see if it was just a lock program or if it has info on it.
Digifanatic stays away from Andrew's cards just in case his idea spreads out a bit...
Metal Man (GM): It was just a lock.
Deloth: *Looking over at Andrew's cards* "So what ARE those, anyways?"
Panzer walks into the doorway, no further, looking around. "If you see weapons, grab them."
Metal Man (GM): The group walks through and sees before them a wide room, filled with mostly junk, but a few future-usable armory bits. However, no Zero Virus is in here. There's a small rifle and a plasma sword of some kind, and then a weird shield is leaning against the wall.
Panzer looks behind her, getting a paranoid feeling.
Deloth grabs the sword. "Dibs."
Zero: "Well, there isn't any Zero in here, but it is an armory."
Dragoshi: *Grabs the rifle.*
Kenku looks over at the shield, and hefts it.
Panzer: "Take all the equipment you can find."
Digifanatic: "Yeah..." *He wonders what else may be useful besides those three pieces already taken...*
Metal Man (GM): I'll put stats for them later, since they'll need to be inspected before you can use them. They also need readily available power packs to use. The most interesting device in here is a large cannon.
Dragoshi: *Puts it away and... examines the large cannon.* :x
Metal Man (GM): About 7 feet long and in segments, it lays on the ground next to a bunch of wires. It's a pulsar cannon.
Digifanatic looks at the cannnon...
Andrew: "Enchanted Tarot cards, they have a magical edge that does damage and can paper cut like a demon."
Dragoshi: *Low whistle.*
Digifanatic: "Any way we can haul it up and fix it after?"
Deloth blinks. "Tarot cards?"
Zero: "I would guess, but we need to find the Zero Virus... ...I don't know who could waste time with something that large."
Panzer: "Zero and I could carry it, if he is up to possibly breaking a nail."
Dragoshi: "Well, if I ever get enough free time..."
Andrew: "Cards that are used to read the future, and play a few interesting serious business card games."
Panzer hmms, scans the walls of the armory.
Zero: "Perhaps after we destroy the Zero Virus."
Metal Man (GM): You look through and detect old Maverick weapons. You see a Chill ice blaster and a flamethrower laying against the wall next to one another.
Deloth: "So where do you think he is now?"
Digifanatic curiosly takes the Chill gun.
Panzer: "He's in this room or the next, give me a moment. Get loaded up first."
Metal Man (GM): Make note of what you take, I'll stat it out later.
Panzer lays claim to the cannon, nothing else.
Zero: "I would suspect there's a similar room like this on the other side of the fortress."
Deloth: *Plasma sword yey.*
Dragoshi: *Takes the flamethrower.*
Kenku puts the shield away and walks ob.
Andrew looks for anything not powered by electricity.
Digifanatic: *Also puts his toy away.*
Panzer: "Deloth, that's a Reploid's weapon, you couldn't use it much without a power source."
Dragoshi = armed to the friggin' teeth. In any case, he puts the flamethrower away for further use.
Deloth: "Then I'll find one."
Panzer walks into the armory and feels along the walls for something or other.
Metal Man (GM): The walls are smooth and regular.
Dragoshi: *Goes to feel along the floor.*
Panzer walks out and looks around the rest of the fortress.
Julian Sawyer: *And Julian enters through the weird door. Where has he been? Wouldn't you like to know!* "What's goin' on on in h-" *Notices peeps be loading up on weapons* "Take it we jus' found the armory."
Kenku: "How would you get a powersource Panzer?"
Dragoshi: "Yeah. We did."
Panzer: "Sabres are usually wielded by reploids because we can route power to them via our cores, humans need to ... I'm not sure. Ask Zero."
Julian Sawyer: "Tell me y'all didn't take everything..." *Julian scans the room for anything left over, briefly noting the large cannon on the floor.*
Kenku: "I see. Interesting."
Metal Man (GM): Julian: Well, there's a set of old claws sitting on the ground. Zero walks out as well. Panzer finds a corner.
Deloth: "Hey, Zero, how do I get this sword working?"
Metal Man (GM): Zero finds a separate corner.
Julian Sawyer: *How big are they?...nevermind, Julian scoops them up anway* "Think I can use these..."
Panzer looks for another door, not a corner.
Kenku follows Zero out.
Zero: "Someone look for another door. Er... you just need a readily available power device. We have some back at base."
Julian Sawyer: *Those claws need a power source too?*
Metal Man (GM): Yes.
Digifanatic does search for another door.
Kenku: "Ah ok."
Deloth nods and assists.
Zero: "I can give you the necessary parts for free when we're done with this battle."
Dragoshi: *Also goes to search for a door as well.*
Julian Sawyer: "I'll be usin' my rain check on one'a those, then." *Julian exits the room with the rest aaaand DOOR CHECK.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer finds the door. Digi finds a glowing, purple door. He knocks into it. It zaps him for 10 damage.
Panzer: "Found the door, he's probably through here. Or that door he found. Let me go hack the power so we have a better chance."
Digifanatic: *Walks away, mentally a bit bruised.*
Julian Sawyer: "...I'm not likin' the look of that purple door."
Metal Man (GM): The door would be readily visible to all. Panzer has found a MMX-style barrier door. Digi found the purple door.
Panzer pokes the door.
Metal Man (GM): The power generator is sitting around and can be unplugged. The MMX style barrier door opens in the usual fashion, waiting for people to walk through it.
Panzer walks away right after the poke, walks to the generator, and unplugs it.
Digifanatic: *Stays in the room to see the after effects of Panzer shutting off the generator.*
Metal Man (GM): The generator turns off.
Deloth just waits where he is.
Metal Man (GM): Alarms go off as the power is disconnected.
Dragoshi: *Also waits.*
Metal Man (GM): The lights dim.
Kenku: "Uh oh..."
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Digifanatic: *Barrier door...*
Julian Sawyer: *Yeah, through the barrier door.*
Zero: "Okay..." *He walks to the door which appears to be the entrance to the room where the Zero Virus is.* "Everyone ready?"
Panzer tugs it away from the outlet a little and walks back to the armory and tries to nudge the cannon.
Dragoshi: "...well, I'm pretty banged up, but... I'll prolly' be as ready as I'll be."
Kenku: "As much as Ill ever be I guess..."
Deloth heads to the door and walks through it.
Digifanatic: *Walks through.*
Julian Sawyer: "Ready enough... Where'd Panz take off to?"
Digifanatic: "Back to the armory, I presume."
Metal Man (GM): Walking through the barrier door, the barrier door closes down behind everyone. There's a wide open room now, with several holographic screens all about. They show the Wily symbol, Dr. Wily, Zero, and the Shadow Devil. Phazing in directly is the Zero Virus, who resembles a flickering Zero.
Deloth: "Hello again."
Zero Virus: "What do we have here... fools who--"
Zero: "Shut up and die, you fake."
Zero Virus: "What are YOU doing here?"
Zero: "I'm not going to answer to you. You're going to be sliced into pieces!"
Julian Sawyer: "What he said."
Dragoshi: *Keeps one hand on his sword and another hand on the bread and waits...*
Zero Virus: "You are nothing but a fake in MY rightful body... ...and your friends are pathetic humans. You... die now!"
Metal Man (GM): Roll inits. The Questers trip and fall over one another as the Zero Virus appears to take front and center. But then Zero leaps into the way!
Julian Sawyer manages to NOT trip over his own feet and die. Victory!
Zero: "The Questers are right. The Maverick Hunters aren't going to just sit back and require help anymore... I'll take you down first!"
Zero Virus: "You can't defeat yourself... you'll lose!"
Zero: "You are nothing more than an abomination built off of pathetic Wily technology. You can't match modern reploids or even humans in combat. Let me show you why." *Zero leaps up and spins in the air with his saber.*
Metal Man (GM): *SLASHSLASHSLASH* The Zero virus takes 60 damage.
Zero Virus: "..." *He floats and then tries to attack Zero with a powerful energy beam.*
Metal Man (GM): *BZAAP.*
Zero Virus: "Die."
Metal Man (GM): He does it again. Then he flies at Zero with a diagonal slash. Zero falls to one knee from the intense assault.
Zero: "It's not over yet!"
Zero Virus: "It will be!"
Metal Man (GM): Unfortunately for the Zero Virus, all that time spent messing up Zero means no time spent harming the Questers. Hence he is... open to being attacked.
Kenku sees the massive assault on Zero, and remebers Del's fight, and decides to think and attempt to focuse (Smash Charge?)
Metal Man (GM): Smash Charge? Waaay too early. Sorry.
Kenku can't focus and says "Screw It!" and charges ZV with a slash and thrust.
Metal Man (GM): He is hit once.
Dragoshi: *Mutters under his breath* "bread..." *Dragoshi quickly zooms over towards the Zero Virus and attempts to smash his goddamn face in with the delicious baked good!* (Using the Bread's special ability)
Metal Man (GM): Hit, miss.
Julian Sawyer's turn! Rapturous joy. "This has gotta end." *Julian drops his equipment bag and hustles towards the distracted virus, taking to the air and extending his leg as he attempts to land a Flying Heel drop on the shoulder of the Zero Virus' swordarm! C'moon disable/disarm...*
Metal Man (GM): You hit it, but the virus' sword is one with its arm. Still, +5 bonus to damage due to decent aiming. Makes me want to extend the increase damage/etc. stuff to other attacks in the future, for that is the sort of description I like. Being a virus entity, the attack is effective... damage/stuff?
Dragoshi: *Points his laser sword at ZV, and... Fires out three bolts of electricity at the guy! Electric Ele x3!*
Metal Man (GM): He takes 30.
Digifanatic: *Since it's too early to consider charging a Final Smash, he goes running in, firing a Light Ray to ZV's fire before diving in and going for an Icy Kick to the left foot. As ZV reacts to the Kick, hit or miss, Digi quickly gets up and fires a second Light Ray to the chest.*
Metal Man (GM): He is hit by the Icy Kick and falls over backwards, taking 10 more damage. Things to factor in... not too much. Although that's a decent desc, I'll need to make moves which take into consideration desc stuff before I can reward other people for those. Probably by having people learn more moves. Later on. Anyway!
Deloth follows Drago's lead as he tosses one of his swords into the air, fires a trio of Electric Eles at ZV with the free hand, and catches his blade behind his back. Show-off.
Metal Man (GM): This is a computer virus. Andrew should be handy against it!
Andrew: "Heh, I have a feeling that you are really going to dislike me Zero Virus. I believe in a very loose term of irony, and I think it would be ironic if you got a trojan horse." Andrew types a few commands into his powerglove and out shoots two balls of rotting data wrapped in a pink bow.
Metal Man (GM): Roll the... relevant check. The odds on that last roll are pretty steep. He dodges the first. Then you nail him with the second one. The ENTIRE ROOM SHORTS OUT FOR A MOMENT. He takes 68 damage.
Deloth: "Whoa!" *Claps.*
Andrew: "Distraction and penetration." *Bows.*
Deloth: "Dude, that was AWESOME!"
Digifanatic: "Oh, very nice."
Kenku noticies this, and starts to think.
Julian Sawyer: "...Do that again."
Metal Man (GM): Panzer has joined the battle. Or has she? Who knows. Nobody notices her appearance and she can't be found. Zero Virus reforms. Only for Zero to do... a flaming upwards slash at his face.
Zero Virus: "Not so fa--GAH!"
Metal Man (GM): He takes 50 more damage.
Andrew: "Ah, this is something that I would love to have a recording of to play back in slow mo~"
Zero Virus: "You... no... die!"
Metal Man (GM): He powers up and fires an ultra deathray at Andrew.
Julian Sawyer: "Yeah, get him!"
Metal Man (GM): ....
Julian Sawyer: "NOT!"
Digifanatic: "You've probably got some way of doing that in your glove somewhere."
Metal Man (GM): *Plays instant replay.* The Zero Virus powers up the ultra power deathray... Then it flies over Andrew's head like it never happened.
Zero Virus: "...Gah! I said DIE!"
Andrew looks up and holds up a sign that says 0.
Metal Man (GM): He fires at Andrew again. Andrew dodges it!
Zero Virus: "...No! Stop moving!"
Andrew: "You know, you really should reformat for often, helps clean out the tubes~"
Metal Man (GM): He gets angry and goes to take it out on Zero.
Deloth: "I think your virus broke his brain."
Andrew: "Maybe a virus scan?~"
Metal Man (GM): Zero clutches his shoulder, wounded but not down thanks to a subtank he emptied while no-one was looking.
Andrew: "Quite possibly, but he is really going to hate what I have planned for him."
Metal Man (GM): ???
Julian Sawyer: *???*
Panzer fires off her perfectly aimed shot for ZV's head from out of nowhere, camoflauged. She was behind ZV, and she's using those cracked out anti-virus bullets, having taken her time to calculate everything, using One shot; One kill.
Metal Man (GM): He is smacked in the head with it. The monitors begin to spazz out. Between repeated punches, trojans, and Zero slashing him, he's beginning to lose coherence.
Zero Virus: "Death to... Reploids... Death to... Humans... Death to... All Who... Are Not Wily... Aaaaaarghghghghhghghgghhghggh!!!"
Julian Sawyer: "...Yeah, let's jus' finish this sucka up. Get 'em!"
Deloth: "Whoo! Blew him AWAY, Panz!"
Metal Man (GM): It'll be a rate 2 thing though. You detect that electrical and cyber-based attacks do the most direct damage to him.
Panzer is still not too visible, still behind ZV, smirking over the barrel of Greenbird. "Boom, headshot."
Kenku sighs. "If only this thing could be enchanted..." he grumbles, but decides to go for broke anyway as he charges and leaps up attempting to slam the sword down in a vertical strike.
Metal Man (GM): He dodges that, slowly. Dr. Light's logo begins appearing on the monitors as the virus begins to disintegrate. All it'd take is a few more hits and he's dead.
Panzer: "Hey ZV, if you want to kill everything that is not Wily, why haven't you killed yourself? You're not Wily."
Julian Sawyer tries to take advantage of Kenku's attacking, suddenly rushing VZ from the right and trying to catch him across the face with a devastating electric haymaker, then quickly shifting directing and trying to catch him on the other cheek with another! Stunner x2.
Zero Virus: "Gsghsgbsgsdfsdfsd bzzzzzvt."
Metal Man (GM): He slowly and lamely dodges, being hit twice instead of dodging anything.
Panzer: "ZV, your new name is I AM NOMAD" (/lolbadstartrekpun)
Metal Man (GM): If he even had the energy to muster much more than fading in and out, and tripping, it would be.
Dragoshi: *Just keeps up the Electric Ele spam.* :V (Electric Ele x3, 30 damage total.)
Zero Virus: "Gggzbzjzbzzz."
Digifanatic decides to combine the best of both worlds... he goes to fire another Light Ray, this time swirling with a yellowish spiral of energy... that'd make it Electric Ray, thank you very much... Elemental Will use 1 of 3 (And more to come depending on the roll)
Metal Man (GM): Hit.
Digifanatic will just go ahead and launch a Fire Punch at the ZV's head... if nothing else, it'll be 9 Fire worth of overkill.
Metal Man (GM): He dodges that fire punch.
Deloth laughs and charges straight at ZV, aiming a Dark Sword stab at his face before sliding into a taser sword stab to his midsection.
Metal Man (GM): Hit, hit.
Deloth: *Backflips to the rest of the group* "So, Digi, is that how you do partitioning?"
Digifanatic: "That's a start."
Metal Man (GM): Alas, for Andrew; Deloth's last attacks cause the virus to twitch, then EXPLODE in a cloud of dust.
Andrew: "All well."
Metal Man (GM): The monitors spazz out as the entire place begins to fall apart.
Deloth: "A start, huh?"
Julian Sawyer: "An' that's how it's do-Run!"
Deloth makes for the exit, post-haste.
Zero: "Good job... ...let's get out of here."
Digifanatic: "Well, I was waiting to see if he'd hold up."
Andrew: "Nice final blow Del."
Metal Man (GM): He begins running out with the others.
Panzer wanders on out and back to her mech, whistling.
Digifanatic: *Makes a run out of there, back to the ship.*
Julian Sawyer: *Exeunt!*
Metal Man (GM): Mission complete: +1 EXP
Andrew: "Wait! COMPUTER EMPTY RECYCLE BIN!" *He runs along behind the others.*
Metal Man (GM): You get to your ship as the corrupted mess disintegrates and collapses!
Deloth: "WHOOOOO-HOOOOOO!" *He screeches to a halt next to the ship and pumps his fist, still high on adrenaline.*
Julian Sawyer: "Yeah, baby!" *Oh shit what happened to that cannon.*
Zero: "The virus has been eradicated. The continent is safe now... thanks to us."
Dragoshi: *Running away...*
Panzer walks over to the ship in the mech, listening to the pep-talk crap.
Deloth: "That was AWESOME!"
Digifanatic: "As much as when we whopped Giovanni."
Andrew: "Very nice work. Ah, I always feel better when I clean out a system. It feels nice to know I helped drove another virus to extinction."
Julian Sawyer: "So now what're y'all gonna do?"
Deloth: "So, Zero, we heading back to Hunter HQ now to report?"
Zero: "Yes... rest some, then we can deal with powering up those weapons you found. I will be waiting." *He walks off.*
Panzer looks down at Zero. "You need saber practice."
Zero: *Looks to Panzer* "I haven't had too many targets in recent memory."
Julian Sawyer: "Yo! Zero! Mind if I put you down for a match sometime soon?"
Panzer: "Then get off your ass and do your job, Hunter."
Deloth goes silent, thinking for a minute as he spreads his wings.
Zero: "There's little left after that, but I'll keep that in mind... ...last remaining member of a Maverick organization. Well. The Reploid Air Force still exists. I guess."
Panzer: "We never counted them. Cain just gave them the same name."
Deloth then gets on top of the ship, backs up a bit, then gets a running start and jumps off, flapping his wings. Maybe this time...
Panzer: "But you never know, there might be more of us running around somewhere, soon."
Deloth: *...And he's FLYING!*
Zero: "I'll be watching... waiting..." *He looks and then walks away for good.*
Digifanatic: *And he sees Deloth take off* "Oh, wow..."
Kenku watches Del take off and chuckles. "Looks like he's having fun, I hope he doesn't catch a downdraft or something"
Andrew pets P. bow Trojans one and two. "Good programs~ you did good, yes you did~" He presses a button and they store back into his Powerglove.
Panzer smiles again, face shadowed by her helmet for once. She turns her head and pats her RF symbol. "Soon, Commander. Soon."
Digifanatic: "Yeah, we gotta get the ship repaired..." *He heads in, grabs the helm, and waits for the others.*
Dragoshi: "That we do."
Julian Sawyer: "...I'll put ya down as a maybe. C'mon, we got shit to do, back in the ship." *To the ship!*
Kenku: "Hey guys... if it's fine after getting the equipment, I want to make a quick retrun to the junkyard. For one thing, to retrieve that bike."
Andrew: "Hmm, it's just too bad I never found anything interesting in the armory."
Dragoshi: "Yeah. We did leave those bikes behind..."
Deloth lands and heads into the ship, an enormous grin on his face.
Panzer switches the mech back on and waits for them to take off. "C'mon Kenku, I'll take you. I can haul all the bikes in this thing."
Digifanatic: "Oh yeah, those... alright, Panz. Are you gonna catch up with us at HQ?"
Digifanatic: "Alright." *Me allows Kenku and Panzer their chance for their trip while he flies the others back to MHHQ.*
Kenku says "One sec beforehand Panz."
Andrew: "Nah, more like more parts to inprove my power glove."
Deloth: "Can't believe it! I FINALLY, FINALLY got used to these wings!"
Panzer flies up beside Deloth. "And?"
Andrew: *Yells to Deloth* "You know, how long can you stay up there Deloth?"
Julian Sawyer: "Good fo' you."
Panzer: "Flying isn't the greatest thing you know. All I have to do is rip those wings right off your back."
Kenku looks over the trash piles for a minute "Never mind, I'll go dumpster diving later... let's go fetch the bikes."
Deloth just grins and swoops down beside the ship.
Andrew: .oO(If Panzer ever does that, I will disable her ability to do violence. Somehow. I am sure I could code it, if I worked for a few billion years and never got up...)
Panzer lands and lets Kenku climb up and sit on the Hawk's cannon and then takes off over the junkyard and lands by the bikes, letting him get on one, then grabbing the rest and flying them back to the ship and putting them in the cargo bay. She tosses an AV bullet to Andrew. "You can keep that coding off the bullet to put it in your list of stupid, useless programs now."
Metal Man (GM): You acquire: Hoverbikes. No metools around here, sorry Kenku.
Andrew: "Andrew got, AV BULLET, do-de-do..."
Digifanatic: *Muttering very quietly* "And of course, Panzer, those useless programs were actually very useful in getting rid of the virus."
Panzer: *She perks an ear to Digi.* "Wait until something else comes along, then you'll see that it's above that AV program, Digi."
Digifanatic: "Ohh... Meh."
Andrew is currently going to study that bullet during his free time in order to steal/rewrite the code~
Digifanatic: *And Deloth is away, so no pranks! Yay!*
Panzer ships her robots off somewheres. Then goes to repair the bit of damage on the Hawk.
Metal Man (GM): Recap. The Questers aided the Maverick Hunters by defeating the Zero Virus. Panzer made some mysterious friends, as well. The group has returned to their HQ, now that they have had their newly acquired Reploid weapons energized with some readily available power packs. Nothing much is going on at HQ, although that mysterious letter from the 'Termina' place remains a mystery of mystery + 50.
Deloth has his new sword strapped to his back, along with his two others. "I'm going to need more hilts..."
Panzer is in the garage, working on the Hawk.
Digifanatic: "At least you have all those appendages and whatnot to wield them with."
Deloth: "...Hey, yeah, I can wield all three at once."
Kenku takes his Hoverbike out of the ship, and walks towards the garage. "Hey Panzer, no trouble with storing it down here?"
Deloth: "So, guys, ready to hit Termina?"
Kenku: "Once I have my bike stored... unless you think Im going to be using it."
Digifanatic: "A continent we've gotten a letter from."
Aribar is, surprisingly, not in the Library, but with the others. "It ought to be an interesting place to visit. I barely remember anything from past excursions there."
Metal Man (GM): Deloth: Of course you can. too bad you can't use them all at once.
Digifanatic: "Supposed to be a nice observatory and store there."
Metal Man (GM): Heh heh heh. Heh heh.
Deloth: *Grabs the letter and shows it to Rinith.*
Metal Man (GM): Heh heh heh.
Panzer looks up. She's in her civis again. "Yeah, park it somewhere."
Dragoshi: *Has his new rifle at his side, and the flammothrower on his back... In addition to the other six or so weapons he has on him. :V Is a living armory if you didn't know.*
Kenku nods, and parks it in a corner of the garage, placing the kickstand.
Deloth: "Plus, I get to ride my new bike. Which should be interesting, because I don't think I've ever driven anything before."
Panzer: "Mind if I take it out for a leisurely spin sometime?"
Aribar: "Deloth, is your bike explosive?"
Deloth: "How should I know?"
Aribar: "Unknown? Remind me to stay far away from you if you drive it then. When you inevitably crash, I don't want to be caught in the potential explosion."
Deloth: "Relax, I'll probably just wrap it around a tree a few times instead."
Panzer goes back to fixing the hawk. She sends a wireless signal out to the computer she's rigged up in the garage out of a code reader program for now. She'd send a message to Serges about her robots to see when she needed to pick them up. That computer is basically a fancy e-mail sender, the idea taken from the other computer that was only accessible wirelessly. It was just a screen more or less. No keyboard or anything.
Kenku: "I would hope not, wouldn't want to bend the frame out of whack of something"
Aribar: "Not a chance I'm willing to take. Which reminds me... Is our airship even still working? It's gone through a ton of punishment as of late I believe..."
Digifanatic: "Probably been getting fixed."
Metal Man (GM):
Tarin: *Walks over to Aribar* "I'm unsure who wanted the magic, but... The Conservatory letter appears to hint at magic. Er... Observatory. In fact, I've marked the location on the map. The mythical land of Termina of all things could be there."
Deloth rolls his eyes. "So when do we leave?"
Rinith: "More magic then..."
Digifanatic: "Well, if the ship is fixed, I guess anytime now works."
Aribar: "Eh? Magic?" *The one-track half-elf's ears perk up as he hears Tarin.* "Why are we standing around here idly chatting then? We could save the world twice..." .oO(And learn twice as many spells) "...if we didn't come back here to eat and sleep and stuff!"
Rinith: "Good news for you Aribar."
Aribar heads off to the ship!
Kenku steps out "About to get on our way?"
Rinith: *Gets on the ship* "Hope it still flies..."
Deloth heads out to the ship and hops into his usual seat.
Digifanatic: "Believe so..." *Walks out to make sure the ship is alright.*
Tarin: "That does have me wondering... ...why do you go here anyway?" *He walks after Aribar.* "Usually we have houses in Koholint simply to live in. I've seen you go back and forth, but nothing actually occurs here."
Kenku goes back in and yells to Panzer "Hey... we're about to check out Termina, you coming?"
Tarin: "You're more like sailors than people with a house... It's incredibly weird."
Digifanatic: "Well, it helps to have a base if you have nothing to do for a while."
Panzer looks up. "Yeah. Why not." She suits up, grabs her rifle, and walks out. "What're we doing there?"
Aribar: "We're used to having a base. Plus whenever we're hurt and need to rest up, we always have somewhere to come back to. It also makes it easier for people in need to contact us."
Tarin: *Looks to Panzer* "Exploring an observatory written by a mythical Terminian person of some type."
Kenku: "Dunno exactly. Far as I know, there is a merchant who wants to talk to use, and there is an observatory to check out" *he says as he walks back towards the ship.*
Tarin: "You're a magically animated golem of some kind like the Iron Knuckles. Maybe you could benefit."
Digifanatic: *Waits for everyone else in on the mission to board the ship and takes it off when they're there.*
Panzer: "I'm radioactive, too." *She muttered this under her breath, not caring if she was heard or now, leaving the Hawk in the garage and shutting/locking the door, walking onto the ship.*
Dragoshi: *Just... silently heads to the ship.*
Metal Man (GM): The group's all aboard, plus Tarin. Taking off, Captain Digi?
Deloth: "...Where's Marin?"
Digifanatic: *Aye aye* "Probably taking it easy or something."
Tarin: "She doesn't need to come with us... she's just off playing the harp."
Aribar takes a seat and begins wondering if there are any instruments that he could play with a single hand...
Metal Man (GM): The ship begins to fly through the air. *Cue the song about airships or something* You begin to see the island. It looks... like a continent. There's a huge, round observatory... and a small field next to it. Do you land?
Digifanatic: *Heads it for the field.*
Deloth: "Huh. Pretty nice-looking observatory."
Digifanatic: "Yeah." *And yes, lands it.*
Metal Man (GM): The ship slowly lands, revealing the green fields and... ...the strange looking observatory, which stands in the middle of nowhere. It is pointed to the skies, stairs leading up to the small building containing the telescope.
Aribar goes to exit the ship and heads towards the observatory.
Digifanatic: *Follows Ari.*
Deloth walks over to the building's door and knocks.
Metal Man (GM): There is no fence around this one. Just a simple square door. Knocking on the door gets no response. Tarin follows slowly.
Deloth: "...Hello? Anybody here? We got a letter..."
Rinith: *Looks around.*
Deloth: "..." *Knocks again.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope... You can see someone inside. But they don't open the door for you.
Tarin: "It's customary for people to open the door whether or not it's locked."
Deloth: "...Wait, WHAT?"
Tarin: "I don't know where you got the idea of knocking from. That's just weird."
Deloth tries opening the door.
Metal Man (GM): It opens up.
Deloth just sighs and walks inside.
Aribar: "Our lands have different customs." */enter.*
Kenku follows the others.
???: "Hello." *He leans in.*
Deloth: "Were you the one that sent us the letter?"
Metal Man (GM): He has green pants, and is short. He wears a strange costume of green with reddish shorts. And curled shoes. It's... TINGLE
Deloth: .oO(...Oh, no.)
Metal Man (GM): ...Just kidding.
Aribar: "Greetings, sir." *The mage then realizes that he has no idea what the letter said...*
Metal Man (GM): Heee hee hee hee. It is an image of Tingle, but the cardboard cutout (where to they get those?) is set aside, as you see a man leaning over from a massive burden. He has a bizarre face and masks of everything.
Digifanatic: "Oh, hi."
Mask Salesman: "Oh, I am sure you were expecting me. Everyone knows me. I have been to more worlds than anyone else. And I know what has happened to you."
Deloth: .oO(Phew.) "You do? Even me?"
Mask Salesman: "Unfortunately, I couldn't manage to get mail to you until the first crisis had passed."
Digifanatic: "The first crisis?"
Mask Salesman: "Oh yes... especially you." *He taps Deloth on the nose.*
Deloth: "...do not beep my nose."
Mask Salesman: "You're in the same shoes as Link was when he fell into Termina."
Aribar frowns and instantly starts to dislike the man. Old luggage such as this tend to more bad to the Questers than good...
Digifanatic: .oO(Hey, another familiar name!)
Mask Salesman: "Transformed to a lower form by an evil curse."
Mask Salesman: "Kuja's evil curse, of course! Ha ha ha ha... what a funny man he was..."
Mask Salesman: "He thought he could curse Metal Man too... but you can't curse one who is already insane."
Dragoshi: "Pretty much, yeah."
Deloth: "Did he happen to hit YOU, too?"
Digifanatic: "When did he get a hold of Link?"
Kenku sits back and listens.
Mask Salesman: "Link is far away. Fighting a real battle you can't even access. It's for your own good... this world is a very special place, my friends! A special place of wonder and happiness..." *His expression changes.* "AND OF DEATH AND HORROR AND UNRELENTING MADNESS!!! HA HA HA HA HAAAA!"
Metal Man (GM): He then changes back to his normal expression.
Deloth stumbles back a step or two from that sudden blast of vocals.
Kenku blinks a couple times "May I ask what the letter was about?"
Deloth: "I... okay..."
Mask Salesman: "We have similar predicaments. Specifically, when I landed here, someone stole one of my masks."
Metal Man (GM): He takes out a broken Majora mask.
Mask Salesman: "Not this one, though."
Dragoshi: "Then which one was it, if I may inquire?"
Digifanatic: "And do you have any leads as to who stole it?"
Mask Salesman: "A very special mask." *He shows a mask... ...it is of Meta Knight.*
Digifanatic: "Ohhh wow."
Deloth: "...So someone stole a mask. Big deal, maybe it was for a party."
Mask Salesman: "Meta Knight, a blue Kirby, bought this mask from me. Using it he brought order and madness to his realm. All was fine... until somebody else stole it. This someone else... is a much worse troublemaker. The entire land here is in a famine, a drought, and on fire."
Digifanatic: "'Brought order and madness,' huh? Usually I consider Meta Knight as a more honorable being."
Mask Salesman: "If it weren't for this, I would be dead."
Deloth: "If I may ask... is there something special about these masks?"
Metal Man (GM): He shows his Fierce deity mask.
Mask Salesman: "They... are not normal masks, you see... they transform people."
Mask Salesman: "That Blue Kirby was a normal dreamlander until he put that mask on."
Deloth points to the Fierce Deity mask. "What's that one do?"
Mask Salesman: "..." *He smirks at Deloth.* "Unspeakable things of destruction."
Deloth: *Blandly* "Sounds like fun."
Aribar: .oO(My dislike for this man rises every moment.)
Kenku: "Lemme guess... we have a Meta Knight on our hands."
Aribar: "Is that mask," *He points to the Meta Knight mask* ", simply a copy of the stolen one?"
Mask Salesman: "No... no..." *He waves a finger.* "Worse... than Meta Knight."
Metal Man (GM): The Mask Salesman nods.
Mask Salesman: "This mask is of no actual power. There can only be one of each mask. Now, if you wish to help me... here is what I can do."
Metal Man (GM): He points to Deloth.
Mask Salesman: "I can restore him to his previous form, trapping the essence of his current condition into a mask."
Deloth: "...And then?"
Metal Man (GM): Nope. MK bought his mask originally from the Mask Salesman, before he was MK. Then someone stole MK's mask, and is now wreaking havoc with it.
Panzer blinks, having not been paying attention to this point for some reason. "Aren't you the guy I plowed with the ship?"
Mask Salesman: "Well, you could shift between your original state and your new one... as you wish."
Mask Salesman: "Who, me?" *He puts a hand to his chin.* "No, that was a fool by another name."
Panzer: "Same shit, different day... Why did I come with you guys again?"
Mask Salesman: "For the rest of you... I offer masks that can shift your form however you wish... should you succeed in aiding me."
Deloth: "By original, do you mean human or dragon?"
Kenku: "Sounds interesting..."
Panzer: "Does it work on machines?"
Aribar: "I assume to drive Deloth's bike around in the field outside or something, Panzer."
Mask Salesman: "Hm. Aren't you both?" *He looks to Panzer.* "Of course. Magic works on everything."
Panzer: "Right. And I'm the fucking Pope."
Deloth: "Well, yeah, sort of."
Rinith: "... well, I like my form, but it has limit's as any, what do you have?"
Mask Salesman: "Do not believe me?" *He takes... A Sigma mask???? out.*
Dragoshi: "...And I don't even know if the masks would, yanno. Work for---..." *Blank stare.*
Panzer: "Why do you know about Sigma?"
Aribar: "Where is this thief causing trouble at? While our information network is lousy at best, I don't think I have heard of any maniacs torching various countrysides."
Deloth: "...Alright, so, how would you do this mask thing, anyways?"
Kenku: "A question... does the mask grant the abilities of the new form, or just its shape?"
Mask Salesman: "I am a travelling salesman, whom has been everywhere. I am just as you, Questers. Worlds come and go, but we do not."
Panzer: "Put that on yourself, turn into Sigma, and make me laugh. Do a little dance and say 'Fu fu fu.'"
Deloth stares at Panzer.
Mask Salesman: "If it would prove my point, then I will do just that. Just the shape? No, no... everything!" *He takes the mask and puts it on.*
Rinith: "Sigma is?"
Metal Man (GM): He spends a moment painfully shape-shifting, screaming in pain, and then looks like MMX1 Sigma.
Panzer: "Yep. Just as ugly as the real thing."
Mask Sigma: "Believe me now?" *He takes off his cape and throws it aside, then turns on his light saber.* "Fu fu fu. Whatever that means." *Does a weird little dance.*
Panzer snickers, records it and sends it to Serges for a good laugh.
Aribar: .oO(Somehow, I don't think I want a mask that does that.)
Metal Man (GM): He then, to demonstrate to Deloth, slashes a nearby block of wood in half. Before then ripping the mask off, gasping, and returning to normal.
Kenku: "Do they also grant magical abilities?"
Rinith: o.O "What are those masks...?"
Deloth: "...Okay, you've got me interested. How would you do this essence-capture thing?"
Panzer: "Oh, how I could wreak havoc with one of those things."
Mask Sigma: "Whatever ability the mask's subject has."
Kenku: "Well... I mean innate ones at least."
Mask Salesman: "If you do this favor for me, I will give you each one mask to borrow..."
Panzer: "What masks, though? Or does it depend on the person?"
Kenku: "Sure, sounds interesting" *Kenku says already thinking what type of mask would work.*
Mask Salesman: "Of course... the transformation ones require you to sell one or two of my lower up masks. Like this one." *He puts on a mask of stone.*
Metal Man (GM): Then he runs into a column of the building and falls backwards. The column is dented.
Mask Salesman: "Everyone everywhere needs masks like these. You just have to find them."
Deloth: "So you want us to do some footwork for you..."
Panzer: "I can do that, but better." *She runs and tosses herself into the colum, wanting to see if the building will now fall over.*
Deloth: "...Yeah, okay, I guess I could do that."
Metal Man (GM): *BONG* The column bends a bit, then shifts into place. It's a bit unusual, as if he intends for it to be used like that.
Panzer: "Hmm. Well, that's no fun."
Mask Salesman: "Neither would be a telescope embedded into the top of our heads."
Panzer: "Silly human."
Mask Salesman: "So... I will point you out where to go."
Metal Man (GM): He points to the Northwest.
Mask Salesman: "Go to Green Greens. The culprit just struck there."
Digifanatic: "Ah, thank you..."
Deloth: "So wait, how do you capture someone's essence into a mask, anyways?"
Mask Salesman: "Defeat his lackeys and tell me what has happened. If you continue to aid me... who knows..." *He flips about some other masks, including such unlikely faces as a Darth Maul-esque mask, an Elvis mask, and even a Zio mask.* "Powerful magic beyond your comprehension."
Panzer: "Magic is useless."
Mask Salesman: "Would turning into Sigma be useless?"
Panzer: "Pretty much, yes."
Deloth: "So. I'm ready to go if you guys are."
Digifanatic: "Same here." *Heads back for the ship.*
Mask Salesman: "Hm. Not like your technology could impress me, either." *He smirks madly.*
Panzer: "The best thing I could figure out for those masks would be to play stupid pranks on people."
Dragoshi: *Back to ze sheep!*
Aribar: "What's the difference between my lightning bolts and a bullet from your rifle, Panzer?"
Mask Salesman: "Of course! I mean... they are very important!"
Panzer: "Mine does more damage."
Deloth runs out and gets back into the ship.
Panzer: "See? They're masks. Useless masks."
Aribar mutters, "Probably..." before shuffling back to the ship.
Deloth: "Well, this'll be an interesting experience..."
Kenku returns to the ship as he takes them all in.
Mask Salesman: "Don't make me crash the moo--I mean... ...happy thoughts... happy thoughts..." *He wanders off.*
Panzer walks back to the ship, unimpressed. "You guys know that he's psychotic and there's something odd with those masks of his, right?"
Rinith: "No, really?"
Digifanatic: "I wouldn't be surprised..."
Deloth: "Yes, we kind of guessed that, Panz."
Panzer: "Well, you all have a tendency to be more or less retarded so I'm making sure. But you're going to help him anyway so have fun."
Digifanatic: "Hey, I wasn't interested in getting a mask."
Metal Man (GM): You can fly up to the town he mentioned now, if you want.
Digifanatic: *Takes the ship to Green Greens.*
Rinith: "I was going to see what made the masks work if I got one."
Aribar: "He appears to have numerous powerful masks already; will one more truly hurt? Besides, we will be helping out another region of this world."
Digifanatic: *Mumbling* "I'm happy enough with the ice gun..."
Panzer: "Clever illusion, Rinith."
Deloth: "My, someone's cynical today, Panz."
Rinith: "Aribar, do you have that book for the plane spell?"
Kenku: "If you are, so be it Digi, shifting to me is an interesting idea, especially if it can get us out of sticky situations."
Panzer: "My, you haven't had your coffee have you?"
Metal Man (GM): The ship's flying its way to Green Greens.
Rinith: "When you have to be a spy, you learn quickly how to make up a story or lie in a way that sounds quite trueful."
Aribar: "No, when I was finished with that book, it returned to Luigi's house."
Metal Man (GM): Which looks like a truck crashed into it.
Panzer: "Being a spy is a lot easier than you think, Rinith."
Deloth: "...Yikes. He wasn't kidding."
Digifanatic: "Well, Rinith, it may not always be a wise idea to trust a psycho's weapons."
