Date: 6:49:57 PM, April 23rd; 4:30:14 PM, April 25th, 2009.
Metal Man (GM): Will check, Deloth. This door has a complex lock on it, requiring... concentration.
Deloth: "...This one's gonna be tough." *--fail.*
Metal Man (GM): Deloth fails. He can try again, though. Until he runs out of Unlock, of course. The generator begins clicking again.
Deloth: *Again!*
Metal Man (GM): It appears the Eggrobos may have activated a self-repair process.
Julian Sawyer: *Looks up* "Keep tryin', we ain't got much time!"
Metal Man (GM): The door denies entry. An Eggrobo is heard falling down the shaft.
Deloth: "Oh, come ON..."
Metal Man (GM): They must be unable to see in the dark. Access is denied again. The door turns red. Digi: Yes. -1 due to pitch blackness. *SLAM* An Eggrobo hits the ground.
Raena: "...This isn't good..."
Natalie: "The generator's gonna' be online soon..."
Metal Man (GM): The door begins to slowly work. The lockpick spell worked, but it's taking a while to override the lock mechanism. And you hear a laser powering up behind you, Deloth.
Deloth: "Sorry. Magic's not really my strong suit." *He immediately ducks and yanks Natalie down by the back of her shirt.* "GET DOWN!"
Metal Man (GM): Julian is the odd man out as lasers fly towards his head. The rejoin spell. It does the thing the goggles do.
Digifanatic: *Progress on the Eggrobos finishing the generation.*
Metal Man (GM): Because there's people up top (Digi, etc.) and at the bottom
Aribar: *Rejoin, bottom.*
Metal Man (GM): Nope. The generator sputters somewhat, as Julian is shot by lasers for 30 damage.
Julian Sawyer: *DONK.*
Metal Man (GM): The mystery shooter wanders around in the dark.
Kenku tries to heal himself a little, afraid of getting blasted full of holes. (Minor Heal x2)
Julian Sawyer gets thrown forward by the sudden laser assault, but immediately scrambles to his feet and about faces to face his... laser-er. His hammer ought to light things up a bit.
Metal Man (GM): Julian: Search check (no penalty) to find the Eggrobo. It remains pitch dark. In fact... The door unlocks, but it has no power to open with. Julian finds him. You may use an attack, Julian. Yes.
Raena grumbles at the powerless door, and grasps at its bottom. She then lifts with all her might.
Julian Sawyer finds the little bastard, rears back with his Egg Smasher, and attempts to repeatedly nail it into the ground with a series of overhead hammer strikes.
Metal Man (GM): Raena would lift it a little ways and drop it. An attack. He is knocked into the darkness. Then you hammer wildly. *BANG* *BONK* You hit the power generator. *SHING* The lights turn on. They are blinding. The door whips open, revealing 1 Eggrobo on the bottom, and five on top.
Deloth: *Blink, blink...*
Metal Man (GM): *Cue Space Pirate-like attack music.*
Julian Sawyer: *...How did Julian hit the generator if he was at the bottom of the sha-nevermind* "..."
Metal Man (GM): Bottom of the shaft, where the bottom of the generator is. People on the bottom can just flee into the other room.
Deloth just books it.
Metal Man (GM): The five Eggrobos on top, on the other hand, are in the mood to give Kenku a piece of their mind.
Raena: "Deloth, let's take this guy down and try and get to our fri--nevermind."
Metal Man (GM): They shoot at him a lot.
Julian Sawyer: "Get the stuff!" *Julian heads into the now-open storage room.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian runs into the storage room... pause on storage room people, I'll handle the people up top and then we'll reunite everyone. Digi, Kenku, Aribar: Five Eggrobos are now furiously trying to guard their sector. For starters, they have decided to shoot up Kenku, who needs to roll 3 dodge checks. Hit miss hit... 50 damage to Kenku. He's knocked over backwards as the Eggrobo advance on him. People on top: Gonna go down or stand around? The one below is already on the floor, sparking. Raena can attack it if she chooses.
Digifanatic would rather fight off these Eggrobos up here, even in darkness.
Aribar watches where some of the blasts are coming from. He would try to pick up one of the Eggrobos firing at Kenku with Kinesis and throw it into the pit.
Digifanatic: *Don't want to bring more downstairs.*
Metal Man (GM): The lights are on now, Digi.
Digifanatic will definitely fight.
Raena teleports up to the one on the bottom, giving it a Falling Star kick, which launches herself upwards as she does a Link meteor-smash with the Digi-Sabre.
Kenku will try to cleave then when they get close and the reshield.
Metal Man (GM): The one on the bottom, already damaged, explodes. This leaves... Short battle Raena hits her head on the wall before she destroys the disabled Eggrobo. Now we only have the Questers on top fighting 5 Eggrobos.
Aribar looks about; are all the Eggrobos at roughly the same health? Are any more dented or pummeled than the others?
Metal Man (GM): Not yet. Raena: No, this is for the people up top only. This isn't going to be a long battle. It's a relatively simple scenario: You can try to get down the shaft to safety.. ..Or duel five Eggrobos at once.
Aribar fires five bolts of electricity at the strongest looking Eggrobo. Ele x 5, 50 damage.
Metal Man (GM): Your choice. It takes all the hits and gets right back up.
Kenku sees this and decides this may not be the best idea "Uh... guys... we might need to think about a retreat for now..."
Aribar: "We're going to have to fight them on the way back up. Unless... Eggrobos, we're friends of Robotnik!"
Metal Man (GM): They aim at Aribar's face.
Kenku sighs, and goes to smash one of the 5 with a reg and thrust.
Metal Man (GM): It blocks his attack. These are rather shiny, well made Eggrobos. They aren't likely to die from odd hits. One of them is a bit frazzled from the electricity eles though. Eggrobos. They charge at you like machines possessed by demons.
Aribar: "Cease this combat unless you want to raise the ire of Robotnik!"
Metal Man (GM): Attacking Aribar, Kenku, and Digi with fists, punches, and... ...attempts to weld people's faces. Aribar is knocked over and burned. Kenku is punched, shot, then knocked over. Digi just gets whapped once. Aribar takes 40 damage. Kenku takes 60. Digi takes 10.
Digifanatic tries to send the electrified Eggrobo off into the distance by slamming it with the golf club.
Kenku: "Dammit... we need more people!"
Metal Man (GM): The Eggrobo flies down the shaft. Due to the electrical interference, it sputters and falls down the shaft, exploding. Then just now, Dragoshi and Panzer catch up to the people on top. Roll inits, Dragoshi and Panzer. A note to the new battling people: You can either fight this small mob of Eggrobos or... go down the shaft.
Panzer looks for something more intelligent to do, really.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: Going down the shaft would remove you from this fight. The Eggrobos seem to be single-minded in attacking the people here.
Panzer pings a wireless signal off the robos to see if she could shut them down remotely.
Aribar: *How many robos left?*
Metal Man (GM): 4. As the Aribar turns...
Aribar doesn't bother trying to get up. He just raises Sunlight towards the Eggrobos and fires four blasts of kinetic energy in an attempt to knock them down to the ground. He then fires a weak blast of electricity at one of them.
Metal Man (GM): Getting his priorities mixed up, Ari knocks them over the pit, and they fly back. The lone one hit with an ele right after it lands sparks out like the other one that was easily knocked into the pit.
Kenku: "I'm sorry guys... I'm not going to be able to survive another attack..." *Kenku says, and heads for the shaft, trying to keep his shield up as he does.*
Metal Man (GM): Roll an athletics check, +1 due to Aribar's distraction. To see if you get past them without taking any damage. Kenku goes down the ladder. The Eggrobos do their thing. They ignore Panzer and Dragoshi, instead going to mob Aribar and Digi. They attack with lasers, welders and punches. Digi gets headbutted and then shot down for 30 damage. Aribar gets welder-smacked across the face for 15. You can either leave the battle with an Ath check, Panzer, or try that remote thing with a tech check.
Digifanatic: *Takes a good hit but he'll be alright.*
Panzer tech stuff!
Eggrobo: "404 Resource not found."
Metal Man (GM): You may try again, as it is a rate 2 thing.
Panzer found a Starbucks wifi though. She tries again, this time, without the Starbucks thing.
Metal Man (GM): You find no remote shutdown. Failing that, you infect them with Dr. Light's virus.
Eggrobo: "Must protect humans."
Eggrobo2: "Do not destroy humans."
Eggrobo3: "Combat mode de-activated."
Metal Man (GM): Battle over. Ah, the uses of a tech check against robots.
Digifanatic: "Nice trick." *Heads down the latter.*
Aribar: "We're human! Burning torches hurt humans!"
Metal Man (GM): Maybe Digi should try that next time. You walk down the ladder. The Eggrobos wander about, repairing the place.
Panzer jumps off the ledge, the ladder probably wouldn't hold her.
Raena: "Could you guys have taken longer fighting them?" *Rae asks out of boredom.*
Kenku burns a bunch of his charges. (Minor X6)
Aribar: "Yes." *Follow.*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer would land on the bottom. Similar to how Schatze leaped off of the ledge earlier. You're now... all by the storage area.
Kenku: "There wasn't anything stopping you from going ahead"
Julian Sawyer went into the storage room at the start of all of this.
Metal Man (GM): The storage room looks to be relatively mundane. Several boxes full of parts.
Digifanatic: *Heads in... oh, which box does he want?*
Panzer dusts herself off, walks into the storage room, looking around for something useful.
Metal Man (GM): In fact, an Eggrobo walks in and takes one. But there's so many of them you won't miss it.
Deloth: "...Let's get 'em all."
Kenku: "I wonder although... Hey Panzer, ask if you're their *Leader*now?"
Metal Man (GM): They're generic gray boxes.
Natalie: "Hmmm... Any of you guys have books on Light Heal and Wall? I wanna' see if I can write some cards for Rae."
Julian Sawyer: "HEY! Took yo' asses long enough." *How many boxes did Schatz need?*
Panzer: "I doubt it, Kenku."
Metal Man (GM): He was vague. Probably best to bring one per person.
Panzer: "Still want to find out? Go ask one."
Julian Sawyer: "Everyone get a box, we're done here."
Digifanatic: *Yeah, that'll be fine--grabs a box.*
Panzer looks for parts she might could use. ^.^
Deloth grabs one and carries it with his tentacles on his back.
Metal Man (GM): They're all in Eggmanic instead of metric! Blah!
Aribar would use Kinesis to carry a box back to Red.
Metal Man (GM): Everything is in-between the sizes acceptable for most sane machinery.
Kenku picks up a grey box before looking to a Eggrobo. "Hey robot, who do you work for?"
Julian Sawyer grabs a box of parts that's just his size and flies back up the generator shaft.
Eggrobo: "Protect humans. Protect humans. Protect humans."
Metal Man (GM): You fly up the shaft with the box. But the door out has been shut...
Kenku "Hmm... interesting..." is all he says and heads for the shaft.
Digifanatic looks at the shut door... any way to lift it again or otherwise go through?
Deloth: "...Uh, Julian, why'd you stop?" *Using his free hands to carry Natalie again.*
Natalie: "Oh, lovely..."
Julian Sawyer: "..." *Reopens the door?*
Metal Man (GM): You open it... You hear... explosions. The base rumbles.
Julian Sawyer: "...Aw hell."
Deloth: "Abandon base!"
Aribar: "Why?"
Digifanatic: "That would be a good reason to lock the door."
Metal Man (GM): It goes dark on the end of the hallway out.
Aribar: "Why is the base exploding?"
Eggrobo: "Enemy detected! Enemy detected! Enemy ship detected!"
Aribar: "They're ours!"
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM BLAM.*
Digifanatic: "Oh, not again."
Aribar: "...I hope."
Kenku: "Julian... boost me for the door! Ill try to lance it open!"
Metal Man (GM): That's not your ship shooting things.
Julian Sawyer: "Not this shit again."
Dragoshi: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The door's open. You just wouldn't want to walk on out that hallway.
Dragoshi: "Hoo boy."
Julian Sawyer already opened the fucking door!
Kenku: "Oh..."
Metal Man (GM): The explosions stop for a moment. Seems the ship can't get in this deep.
Panzer is standing against the wall, tapping her foot.
Metal Man (GM): The way out is seemingly blocked, however.
Natalie: "...can we remote-control our ship to shoot that one?"
Kenku looks to an Eggrobo. "Robots is there an alternative way out of the base?"
Julian Sawyer: "...Fuck, how the hell we gonna get out now?" *Tries to Radio schatz to see if he's okay.*
Aribar: "Very easily."
Schatze: (Radio) "The... the purple ship appeared. I hid your ship. It is safe."
Digifanatic: "Knew it."
Schatze: (Radio) "There's an alternate entrance out through the storage area... ...but it also leads into the area the enemy ship has landed in. You're going to have to face it to get out... unfortunately..."
Deloth: "...bullshit..."
Raena: "Either way we're fighting that ship..."
Julian Sawyer: *R* "Ain't like ain't ever fought our way outta here."
Aribar: "I should be able to create a portal to an alternate plane. We may be able to just go out through the shaft's entrance in that alternative plane and head towards our ship."
Schatze: "Ain't like ain't ain't ain't? I didn't quite catch that one."
Deloth: "Good, Ari, now do it."
Aribar casts Plane to open up a portal to... A light world? If there's a dark world plane, then perhaps there's a light world as well.
Julian Sawyer: *R* "Oh now you jus' patronizin' me. What I was sayin' is, we've fought our way outta places like this before... but looks like Ari figured somethin' out."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar enters the plane of glowing light energy. Gah! It blinds! But it is rock-free. You could just walk out ..But you can't bring everyone out with it without casting it a ton. One per person...
Julian Sawyer: "...Fo' him."
Metal Man (GM): Well, two, actually.
Panzer is more or less watching the others be stupid.
Metal Man (GM): One to get them in, then another to get them out. He's one of the few even capable of using it.
Julian Sawyer: *R* "Where's the alternate entrance?"
Aribar shields his eyes in the land of the blinding sun. And then he realizes a small error in his plan.
Schatze: (Radio) "Down at the back of the storage room. An elevator up."
Digifanatic: "Well... it's likely our only shot."
Julian Sawyer: *R* "Got it. Julian out." *Hangs up* "A'ight, lets get this show on the road..." *Back down the shaft.*
Kenku: *Radio* "How sheltered is it?"
Deloth heads on back down the shaft.
Digifanatic: *Follows Deloth.*
Schatze: (Radio) "As I said... you will be reaching the ship directly..."
Panzer: "Schatze, do you know the capacity of that elevator?"
Aribar: "I just realized that this won't work... That portal could only last for a single person. At most I could transport another person with me..."
Schatze: (Radio) "No, but it's a freight elevator."
Panzer grumbles and starts for the elevator.
Kenku curses under his breath, and runs for the elevator.
Aribar wills the portal closed and follows the others. He would stop at the Eggrobos through. "We need your protection. Could you come with us?"
Eggrobos: "Protect humans. Protect Power generator." *They make as if to follow you.*
Metal Man (GM): Walking to the elavtore, the group would find it right at the back of the storage room.
Julian Sawyer: "Nice goin', Ari." *To the frieght elevator!*
Metal Man (GM): It is powered and ready.
Deloth heads into the elevator and sighs.
Julian Sawyer gets on.
Metal Man (GM): The robots stop just before the elevator.
Panzer looks at the Eggrobos. "Why are you breaking directive?"
Deloth: "Everything that can go wrong, will go wrong, and even wronger than one expects it to be."
Natalie: "Don't forget us!"
Kenku hops in, and sets his shield juuust in case.
Eggrobos: "Perimeter of assigned work ends here. Protect power generator."
Panzer: "Then go back and get back to work. Before I reprogram you into garbage scows." *She gets on the elevator, arms crossed.*
Eggrobos: "Protect power generator." *They turn around and walk away as the others get aboard the elevator.*
Aribar: "Panzer, wouldn't you like to have an extra couple of guns on our side when we go to escape this place?"
Panzer: "They have a set directive, I don't have the authority to reprogram them."
Metal Man (GM): The elevator is ready to go up. Just press the button.
Digifanatic: *Press.*
Metal Man (GM): The elevator starts going up. You hear some shooting above.
Kenku: "Sounds like Schatze lost his cover..."
Panzer lifts a brow, then looks for an opening to get ontop of the elevator.
Deloth: "Sounds like Schatze lost a foot."
Panzer: "Sounds like you're talking too fucking much."
Metal Man (GM): The elevator is just a flat piece of steel going up. No way to get atop it. Not to fear, as the elevator gets up to a small little room which is mostly dark besides a door with small holes in it. Through the holes you can see (and hear) things going on. Nobody sees or notices any of you... but of course someone will have to look through the small holes.
Panzer changes her optics over from regular to night-ops.
Metal Man (GM): At night ops the room comes into focus as a small little box built around an elevator. And the light from the holes becomes to bright to discern what's on the other side with.
Julian Sawyer's gonna look through those holes.
Kenku looks around the room to see if there is anything else.
Panzer switches one eye to thermal, leaving one in NVG mode.
Digifanatic: *Also takes a look through one of the holes.*
Metal Man (GM): Looking through, you would see ... There's the big hangar where the Egg Carrier was. Now instead is the purple ship.
Deloth: "...aw, hell naw."
Metal Man (GM): It has landed. Vile is shooting it out with... Eggman robots. The Eggman robots are ill equipped. He picks them off one shot at a time, taking minimal damage. He has been... upgraded. He moves around with impressive speed, flying around with his jetpack and shooting them around ..But!
Julian Sawyer: "...Panz, think you can get a bead on him?"
Metal Man (GM): He's so busy you could... potentially sneak away from him too. The hangar is full of holes and it's just a short distance from the door to one of those holes.
Julian Sawyer: "..."
Deloth: "I say we just slip away."
Metal Man (GM): Alternatively his ship is just sitting there, past him and the Eggrobos.
Julian Sawyer: *Can everyone fit through said hole?*
Metal Man (GM): Yes. You'd just open the door a slight bit and sneak out. And Vile's too busy being ego-centric, blowing up Eggrobos in the loudest fashion possible.
Julian Sawyer: *Is said ship open?*
Natalie recalls Rae, and attempts to sneak it.
Digifanatic: "I think we have this chance to sneak by..." *Won't go yet--we'll see now well Natalie fares first...*
Kenku: "Yea... this is not our fight... although we need to find a way..." *he sees Natalie making a break and watches.*
Digifanatic: *Muttering* "Natalie going first may not be a wise move, but with all the noise..."
Metal Man (GM): Yes. *BOOM* *BAM!* *BLAM!* Vile blows an Eggrobo apart with a high-powered shoulder-cannon shot. You don't recall him having that caliber laser cannon.
Julian Sawyer: *How far away is the entrance to the ship in comparison to the holes?*
Metal Man (GM): Natalie sneaks right on out.
Digifanatic: *Follows.*
Julian Sawyer: "Eh, maybe later." *Sneak 'dat shit.*
Metal Man (GM): The ship's entrance is well over 70 feet away. Vile is 60 feet, the Eggrobos about right where he is.
Kenku creeps behind Digi.
Panzer is standing in the darkness, scratching her neck, wondering what she should dowith Vile.
Metal Man (GM): Digi and Julian and Kenku sneak right out. Vile shoots everything up, missing the people sneaking out entirely.
Deloth just sneaks on out as silently as possible.
Digifanatic: *Presumes Drago's on autofollow.*
Aribar decides to deviate from the plan! He goes over to the corner of their dark shelter, away from the door, and open the plane to that Light world again before stepping through.
Metal Man (GM): Nobody has any problem sneaking out, as Aribar goes into the Light plane. Ow, his eyes. Where do you go, Aribar?
Aribar squints as he heads out of the door and forward... About seventy feet, to where the ship should be.
Metal Man (GM): As the others escape... to their ship, I presume? Aribar warps out behind the ship. Vile's ship.
Panzer presumably makes it to the ship, finally.
Aribar: *Plane to the normal world, run up the ramp!*
Metal Man (GM): Panzer catches up with the others. Aribar, meanwhile, runs into Vile's ship. The controls are sitting right there.
Deloth apparently makes it into the Quester ship. "Alright, people, let's light this firecr--where's Ari?"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar can even see Vile through the cockpit.
Julian Sawyer: "...That's a good question."
Kenku loads into the ship and get into the weapons seat.
Natalie: "...Well, then. Say, does this ship have a library?"
Digifanatic: "He got lost in another plane." *Doesn't realize the double meaning he just made.*
Deloth: *Takes out his radio and tries to quietly contact Ari* "Ari, where the hell are you?"
Julian Sawyer: "A'ight, everyone load onto the ship. Schatz! We're back!" *Julian says as he heads in.*
Aribar takes out his radio. "Quiet. In Vile's ship. I'll be there soon; hold out for me."
Digifanatic: "...wow, I didn't mean that kind of plane."
Panzer radios back to Ari. "Get out of there, now."
Aribar puts the radio away and looks for controls.
Deloth: "..." *He puts his radio away.*
Metal Man (GM): Aribar finds the controls for those next to the control stick device. Vile has just finished off the last of the robots.
Deloth: "Dead man talking."
Metal Man (GM): Ship people: Gonna take off?
Panzer: "Ari, his ship is more likely than not remote-controlled. And my intel on this on is good. Fuck it. If he wants to die, let him."
Metal Man (GM): Will check to do that, Aribar.
Aribar casts Panel on the weapon controls and tries to aim them at Vile!
Metal Man (GM): You aim them at Vile.
Aribar: "And fire!" *... Presses random weapon buttons!*
Metal Man (GM): *Click* *Push* Uh-oh. You'd need a Panel to use them.
Aribar: *Panel then!*
Metal Man (GM): More to the point, Vile has turned around. He sees... something he does not like.
Vile: "What is this... a monkey in my space ship?"
Metal Man (GM): You turn the lasers on. They fire at him, briefly, then turn off. He is hit, but he doesn't even get knocked backwards.
Panzer laughs. "Told him."
Vile: "Your luck has run out, idiot."
Metal Man (GM): The hatch shuts behind Aribar.
Panzer: "Take off, Ari's toast."
Deloth: "...What a moron."
Digifanatic: *Radio* "Rejoin, Ari! Rejoin!"
Metal Man (GM): Vile's ship begins... flying.
Aribar: "Hm."
Metal Man (GM): With Aribar in it. Flying straight up. Really fast.
Panzer kicks Digi. "Take off, bozo."
Metal Man (GM): The powerful G forces push on Aribar.
Digifanatic: *Takes off.*
Aribar casts Panel on the controls one last time... To try and disable them and destroy them as much as possible. Then casts Rejoin.
Julian Sawyer: "We're outta here! Digi, get us out!"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar: Roll Will check -1 for Panel.
Kenku charges weapons, targeting the hanger.
Digifanatic: "We were doing so fine and... oh man, I wouldn't have expected Aribar to threaten it..."
Metal Man (GM): The ship's INSIDE controls are disabled. However...
Deloth: "What an IDIOT."
Metal Man (GM): You then go to cast Rejoin... both you and your friends are moving.
Panzer: "Deloth, you're usually the one fucking up like that, shut it."
Metal Man (GM): Roll a Will check... -3. The gravity and doubled up movement conspires against your success.
Deloth: "Hey, I learn from my mistakes."
Metal Man (GM): Aribar appears inside the cockpit of the Quester ship like nothing happened.
Julian Sawyer: "...So, how was it?"
Kenku sees Ari on the ship, and opens fire on the hanger.
Panzer: "Alright Digi, get us out of here nitwit. Far away."
Deloth: "...Wha... but... but how..."
Aribar: "Blast. That was mostly worthless..."
Metal Man (GM): The hangar collapses.
Digifanatic: *Presumably takes it back to Stadium unless someone has better plans.*
Kenku: "Digi! Move it!"
Julian Sawyer: "A'ight then." *Looks around for Schatze.*
Kenku: "Oh sorry..."
Metal Man (GM): Schatze is leaning in the back of the ship.
Schatze: "...Have the boxes I need?"
Kenku: "We didn't know which one you wanted, but we got what we could get"
Deloth: *Drops his box.*
Digifanatic: *Also hands his box over.*
Schatze: "Excellent... ...I want my boxes to not be blown up... let's get out of here."
Julian Sawyer: "Think we did." *Julian compiles everyone's boxes together* "Oughta be enough."
Kenku passes Shatze's box.
Aribar: "Before I get another chance to mess with an enemy's ship, I really should learn... How to destroy electronics..."
Deloth: "Not here, but at the Stadium. Although even that's still empty, I think."
Metal Man (GM): The purple ship is lowering to the ground and readying to chase you.
Panzer sighs, sits at the weapons station and starts arming missles.
Natalie: "Good. I wanna' see if there are some books I can borrow to write cards with."
Kenku: "Damn... I was hoping to slow him..." *He turns the guns and opens fire again.*
Panzer: "Schatze, care to lend a hand?"
Aribar: "There's not a single book on the shelves."
Digifanatic: "Alright, help me with the missiles."
Schatze: "Not sure what I can help you with."
Digifanatic: *Goes to fire one on the Vile ship as well.*
Metal Man (GM): Kenku shoots a bunch of useless shots at a still far-off Vile ship.
Julian Sawyer: "Whoa, hold it! There's one seat, we ain't got room fo' 3 people firin' shit... but if Kenku keeps this shit up I'mma kick him out."
Schatze: "I have my intel, which shows that Purple ship is incoming at a high rate of speed..."
Panzer grumbles, climbs ontop of the ship with a big length of tank chain and secures a spot forherself with them, but keeps it semi loose so she can escape, starts drawing a bead.
Schatze: "...Not the best thing to use a limited accuracy cannon at..."
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: You point your gun at it. WHOOOSH! ...Yeah. It's moving even faster than before.
Kenku facepalms a little and retargets.
Panzer leads the target, it being the cockpit of the ship, and readies a shot after considering/factoring in windspeeds and the other ship's acceleration speed.
Metal Man (GM): Tech check +1. Then you'd add another if you were firing with the Weapons seat. Panzer: A +1 to your check... ...with some worry that the bullet may just disintegrate at the impact speeds likely. Oh... also... are you flying the ship anywhere or just hovering?
Panzer: "Yeah. Who is flying the ship?"
Digifanatic: *Yes, he's flying it to the Stadium.*
Metal Man (GM): Digi flies towards the Stadium as the ship is improbably hit by a bullet.
Kenku will fire on the ship once its within gun range.
Metal Man (GM): It turns around and then fires at the Quester ship with lasers. Dodge check, ship and Panzer.
Julian Sawyer: "...Fuck, he's gonna follow us there. Schatze, any way you can hook up with the stadium and turn on our Air defense?"
Metal Man (GM): +1 to ship dodge... Digi's roll.
Panzer grumbles. She hides behind the ship's dorsal wing.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer is blasted by a laser for 50 damage. Yeow.
Digifanatic decides to go for a knife edge on this, in case the shot's a little off-center...
Schatze: "Your security systems are trivial to hack as always. Yes."
Metal Man (GM): *BLAMBLAMBLAM* Hm... for some reason the shields are off...
Julian Sawyer: "Well that's jus' fuckin' fantastic to hear. Do it."
Panzer radios Schatze. "His all the missiles off at once. He can't miss them all, and tell them to start firing, if I'm the only one again then I'm just going to jump off and let them fucking die."
Metal Man (GM): The ship reports damage to the bottom left.
Schatze: "Affirmative."
Metal Man (GM): Schatze shoves Kenku onto the ground. Er. The floor of the ship.
Julian Sawyer: "...Schatz's readin' my mind."
Metal Man (GM): Then slams the missile button.
Aribar: "If the ship starts getting to badly damaged then let me know; I just realized that my magic can repair it."
Metal Man (GM): Vile's ship comes up... ...and a bunch of missiles fly at it. *BLAM.*
Kenku: "You know... you could of just said get up!"
Panzer peeks out from behind the drosal wing, blinking, wanting to see this explodion.
Metal Man (GM): *BLAM* Two missiles hit it at once.
Julian Sawyer: "Kenku! You lookin' at this?" *Gestures at the missles impacting with Vile's ship* "Missles first, THEN guns!"
Metal Man (GM): Vile's ship flies overhead, spinning and partially on fire.
Schatze: "I assume that was a good enough demonstration."
Deloth: "Good enough, Schatze."
Metal Man (GM): He puts Kenku back in the chair and sticks his hand over the missile thing.
Kenku: "Right... sorry..."
Panzer wonders how far up it is. "Tell Digi to move out from under it."
Schatze: "Now get us out of here."
Julian Sawyer: "Got it, Genius?"
Digifanatic: *Makes sure the ship is straightened out before sliding out from under the ship.*
Metal Man (GM): The Quester ship is 100 feet off the ground. Flying low. Vile's is 150. The comms beep.
Panzer keeps her rifle trained on the other ship, then uses Rapid Fire on the thrusters.
Metal Man (GM): He's above and ahead of you. Roll it, no bonus or penalty.
Kenku tries to get a missile lock on the engines.
Metal Man (GM): Kenku: You may fire two missiles now.
Digifanatic slows down the ship just enough to let Vile get ahead, and then he lifts the ship and goes back to max throttle so he can pull up within close range to (and behind) Vile's ship.
Metal Man (GM): Tech check, Digi. +1. Panzer fails as Digi turns the ship effectively.
Digifanatic then fires a missile of his own, from hopefully about as close to point blank as possible.
Metal Man (GM): Panzer misses. The missile hits. Vile's ship throws sparks as the missiles shatter its glass.
Panzer looks at the tank chain and thinks up a proposterous idea.
Julian Sawyer stands behind Digi and Kenku, watching.
Panzer: "Digi, get us in a little closer."
Julian Sawyer: "Blow his ass outta the sky."
Kenku keeps firing!
Metal Man (GM): It flies straight towards you in some maneuver to take you out, through the missile. It fires all its weapons at you.
Kenku: "PULL UP!"
Digifanatic does pull up...
Metal Man (GM): Panzer is blasted off the ship by the sheer weaponry attacks. Digi: Roll two more dodges.
Julian Sawyer: "Get us the fuck outta the way!" *Julian takes cover, strapping himself into a nearby seat!*
Digifanatic: *Does a quick bank to the left.*
Metal Man (GM): The ship takes heavy damage.
Panzer tries to grab the tank chain on the way down?
Metal Man (GM): *SLAM.*
Julian Sawyer: "Ari! Magic up some repairs!"
Metal Man (GM): Panzer: Ath check. +1. Panzer lands on the ground below. It's just short of HQ... ...but she can't really help from down there. Vile's ship heads in to crash into the Quester ship.
Panzer sighs as she's falling down, tries to orient herself to hit on her feet. She has to recalibrate her gyros to walk again.
Julian Sawyer: "Schatz! We got anti-air ready?"
Metal Man (GM): Do or die... dodge check, turret check, whatever.
Aribar puts his hand on the hull of the ship and channels some of his magical energy to repair the damage. Panel, repairing!
Digifanatic tries to take another quick pull up... anything to avoid it.
Schatze: "Yes... but it's too late to hit him now... just do something!"
Kenku fires turrets into hopefully viles face.
Metal Man (GM): The ship pulls up, then repairs, then shoots Vile's ship. Vile's ship explodes once and then flies off, not destroyed but having been forced away by superior firepower.
Deloth: "Whoo! Blew him AWAY!"
Digifanatic: "And we win Round 2."
Deloth: "Nice shooting, guys!"
Kenku grins and hopefully sends him a going away present.
Aribar sighs. Yet another failure.
Panzer: "...Ow... I don't think they noticed I'm missing."
Julian Sawyer: "Yeah!" *Claps hands together* "That's how you do it! Nice goin', guys."
Rinith: *decides to show up last second yo.*
Metal Man (GM): His ship loses another chunk as it vanishes over the horizon.
Digifanatic: *Lands it on the Stadium's landing pad right afterward.*
Julian Sawyer: "Digi, take us in to land, tonight is steak night."
Digifanatic: "Sounds good."
Natalie is doubled over in her seat, passed out with a nice puddle of green goo underneath her, which doesn't smell very good.
Kenku: "Steak sounds good... have to make a call before hand although..."
Panzer is limping back to base in the distance.
Rinith: "Havent had steak in a long time."
Metal Man (GM): You're at HQ, a bit damaged and juiced up, but alright.
Kenku: "Hey... what happened to Panzer?"
Digifanatic: "She must have got yanked off or something." *R to Panzer* "Hello?"
Panzer is picking twigs and grass out of her. She answers. "WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU WANT."
Digifanatic: *R* "Okay, you didn't get knocked out." *Hangs up.*
Deloth: *Staggers back from the sheer decibels on the radio* "...Yeah, she's okay."
Kenku grimaces and decides to let her be, heading for the phone.
Panzer stops. Her eye twitches. She whistles for the Hawk.
Natalie wakes up a couple moments later, groaning. Slowly she unbuckles herself, and makes her way out and towards the stadium.
Digifanatic: *Just walks back in to HQ after landing the ship.*
Julian Sawyer exits the ship as it touches down, and heads down into HQ. "So, we filled out end'a the bargain, Schatze."
Deloth heads for the Stadium, wondering both how to sell these masks, and how to deal with this situation with Raena...
Schatze: "You did well. I was surprised you didn't die trying to kill Vile."
Panzer lets the Hawk come to her, then gets in and pilots it back to base, landing it in the Garage and sitting down. "Schatze, I need you in the garage."
Deloth: "Thank you for your confidence. Can we have the cash now?"
Schatze: "One moment." *He takes out a big bag o' coins and hands out the 250 coins to be split between the people in the mission.* "That... unexpected interruption was a bit of a problem."
Rinith: "I know the perfect person for this hat, tell I sell it."
Aribar: "I don't require the money. Split up my share."
Deloth: "Who's that, Rinith?"
Julian Sawyer: "Who?"
Metal Man (GM): He takes the boxes. Then walks into the garage.
Schatze: "Yes... Panzer?"
Rinith: "Panzer don't 'see' and she's often not happy"
Julian Sawyer: "...Yeah. You do that."
Panzer: "I need you to help me weld up my chest cavity... Again, and to recalibrate my gyros properly."
Metal Man (GM): +1 EXP to all... ...except Rinith, he appeared in the last 5 minutes. Sorry. :p
Deloth: "She'll take your arm off before she lets you put that mask on her."
Rinith: "I'm aware of that." =/
Julian Sawyer: "No, I'm serious, go try."
Deloth: "Get your will filled out, then. Meanwhile, I need to go fill MINE out because either Raena or Alexia is going to kill me..."
Schatze: "Of course." *He does as Panzer asks, since... ...well, she only made this body for him.*
Panzer helps him out. "Thanks. I'm not going to help them anymore. Get the parts you wanted?"
Digifanatic: *Mutters* "So Alexia can read minds or something, I dunno..."
Nataliegets directions to the library, and once there, she looks for spellbooks.
Dragoshi: "... Hoo boy."
Deloth: "Well. She'll kill me if she finds out."
Julian Sawyer: *Divvies up the coins* "An' with that done..." *Julian's off to the kitchen to prepare steak.*
Panzer looks around for her robots.
Metal Man (GM): Yeah, I understand. Panzer's robots are around, mysteriously upgraded with shinier parts.
Panzer: "Oooh. You guys look awesome now!" *She motions them over to check them all out.*
Metal Man (GM): Old Wily parts have been replaced with shinier, more modern mechaniloid parts from a more recent era. They no longer have the combined IQ of a sponge. Now it's more like the combined IQ of a small lizard.
Digifanatic: "Ohhh kaaayyy... now what?"
Metal Man (GM): The demons, Digi.
Panzer: "Awesome. I heard you behaved well, so I'll give you a treat." *She gets up, reaches onto the top shelf and pulls out a can of 90-weight and gives them all some.*
Metal Man (GM): The robots respond favorably. As my brain responds with losing power.
Panzer lay out their other, more ordinary snacks in the form of ten piles of nuts and bolts with one cup on 60 W each ontop.
Digifanatic walks into the library... "Yeah, there's an odd quirk about those spell books, I think."
Metal Man (GM): Digi chills out with the empty bookshelves.
Digifanatic: "What it is is that once you learn the spell, they get zapped back to their original location..."
Natalie: "Oh. Well, I just need to study them so I know what to code into the cards. Then, once I have the code, I just put it on the Digivice in case I burn up all the cards I can make."
Rinith: *is reading another book... this wolf hasn't slept much...*
Digifanatic: "Yeah. I didn't know you were that good at that. I figured you would have just picked them up from somewhere, never mind actually making your own..."
Natalie: "I never had much money, so...yeah. That and a friend of mine's in the hacker subculture."
Digifanatic: "Ahh... That's a good way to get around it, I suppose... but yeah, unless Aribar starts writing books or something, don't expect these shelves filling up anytime soon, I'm afraid..."
Natalie: "Yeah... it was worth a shot, though."
Digifanatic: "I'm also thinking about wanting to have us hire some merchants."
Kenku: "I would get the stadium running before we got merchants."
Digifanatic: "Well, yeah, but this would be one of the things I'd like to do as soon after that, I suppose. Instead of having to fly everywhere to get mundane items."
Kenku: "Yea, it definitely would. Talking about mundane items... I think the next shopping trip, Im getting some simple stuff. Flashlights, and Rope at least."
Metal Man (GM): And perhaps with the right suggestion you COULD get merchants to come to your empty Stadium.
Digifanatic: "Yeah... sounds about accurate."
Metal Man (GM): That would be something to think of, for if you were shrewd it could bring in money as well... Since otherwise all you have currently is Schatze repairing holes in the stadium as a result of your work.
Digifanatic: "I just don't know which vendors would like to move here though... or at least set up a separate private franchise for us. Ah, we'll all figure these things out sometime..." *Walks out.*
Metal Man (GM): A bit later...
Kenku walks over to the mailbox and checks what messages have came in.
Metal Man (GM): It's a bright Spring noon, where it's about 70 degrees and the wind is blowing.
Kenku smiles "Good... no problems to deal with at the moment..."
Natalie: "Ahhh, a brand new, sunny day. It's a nice day isn't it?" "I liked Seattle's rain."
Kenku goes over to the phone and calls Zero.
Metal Man (GM): There is... nothin' going on.
Digifanatic takes a look outside his window before walking back out... looks like he got a lot of rest.
Metal Man (GM): Tarin's wandering around outside HQ. Red has vanished. Marin is wandering further out in the deserted wastes. The Thug casino is taking ever so long to make.
Deloth takes out his Rock mask and looks at it. "I wonder who the heck is going to buy something like this."
Digifanatic: *Flexes hands* "Anyone find mail?"
Metal Man (GM): And Julian is asleep, clutching phone numbers.
Kenku says from the phone. "Nope, no mail."
Metal Man (GM): It would be rather quaint... the HQ is nice and fixed up, but there's nothing going on. The ticket booth empty, the arena unused.
Digifanatic: "Ah..."
Raena: "...this place is as boring as a rock."
Natalie: "Hmmm. Hey, Digi, didn't you say something about trying to attract merchants here?"
Digifanatic: "Yes, I did. I'm not sure who, besides a few places Kenku and I found in the Mushroom Kingdom."
Deloth: "...Any of you people got ideas on how to sell a mask that turns you into a statue?"
Kenku goes to the phone and calls up Zero.
Metal Man (GM): The phone book lays underneath Julian, who is asleep near the entrance.
Zero: "What is it now... Vile again?"
Kenku chuckles "No... no... this is more of a material question... I was wondering if you had any hoverbikes for sale?"
Zero: "Not really. We only have a handful, and we're going to need them to ensure the Zero Virus or Sigma don't just pop up in our own backyard again. Vehicles are expensive and raw material is scarce."
Kenku: "Ah ok. Well, figured I'd try anyway..." *Kenku says* "I'll talk to you later." *and hangs it up.*
Zero: "Ok--" *Click.*
Metal Man (GM): Julian remains leaning on the phone book. He sits in a chair in the middle of a hallway.
Digifanatic: "Hmm... statues..."
Kenku sees Julian sitting there, and walks over and pokes him.
Deloth: "So, guys... now that we've got some cash, you maybe want to take a day off to do some shopping?"
Digifanatic: "Yeah, that's a difficult one, I'd say... as for shopping, a lot of us did earn some good money from Schatze's errand, so I wouldn't mind that."
Metal Man (GM): He doesn't wake up. But his hand falls off the phone book. The phone book reads 'NEW! All-Expanded Inter-Continental Edition! The White, Yellow, and Blue pages!' It's printed by the 'Inter-Continental Merchants Association.'
Kenku picks up the phone book "Interesting."
Digifanatic walks over to where Kenku is... "What's--" *Notices phone book* "Oh, nice... that'll help."
Kenku: "Shopping? Sure I guess... need some rudimetary equipment anyway. Too bad Ari isn't here, he probably would want to go on a book search."
Deloth: "His loss."
Metal Man (GM): The phone book has the three kinds of pages. White is for government organizations, organized by continent.
Natalie: "Well, me and Rae are going to do some training, let us know when you're ready to leave."
Metal Man (GM): Yellow is for shops and stores and stuff.
Deloth: "Will do, Natalie."
Dragoshi: *Checks to see what Blue represents.*
Metal Man (GM): Blue is people's phone numbers, who wanted them listed in the phone book for whatever reason.
Digifanatic: "Ah, okay."
Kenku: "Well... what are you guys looking for? I probably can get the equipment most places, and replacing my bike will take some research probably, so I'm fine with wherever."
Natalie: "Actually... Kenku, see if there's a smith in there that specializes in restoring old weaponry."
Digifanatic: "I'd just like perhaps a few people who already have some successful business to add on to here."
Dragoshi: *Nods in agreement with Digi.*
Digifanatic: "Maybe one from the Mushroom Kingdom, someone from Continia perhaps... I remember back in the old days we used to have a huge array of things we liked to buy, and bringing a bunch of people here to add a private franchise would be great for our convenience."
Kenku: "I'll keep that in mind, although... have you guys checked other places?"
Metal Man (GM): The phone book sits, unused despite the relevant requests it might answer.
Deloth: "Not really. We've been fixing the world's issues." *He grabs the book and flips through the yellow pages.*
Metal Man (GM): Whatcha lookin' for?
Deloth: *Uh... Shops in Continia.*
Metal Man (GM): They're small. A note in the front says '1st edition--due to the relative difficulty of establishing complete interconnection, we only have a portion of the existing shops.'
Kenku: "Then, we may need to do more research before we decide against trying an area... anyway... Natalie, is the weapon something a blacksmith be able to work on, or someone specialized in it?"
Metal Man (GM): Continia: It has two gun-shops. One is obviously a front for those Trevor thugs. The other is Carrington Institute's Civilian Weapons store. The Trevor thugs are also offering mercenary services.
Digifanatic: "Oh, the Carrington number. That'd be nice."
Metal Man (GM): Carrington Institute: it says 'look in the white pages' as well. In Port Royal it lists jewelry and salvage, and boat needs.
Natalie: "Well, it *Is* the Digi-sabre, so it should be able to be worked by a blacksmith. But just cleaning, sharpening and retempering it won't add much to it, it needs its latent magic brought forward."
Metal Man (GM): There are also famous restaurants there.
Natalie: "So... if you can find a magical swordsmith, that'd be great."
Kenku: "I see... Del, see if there are any swordsmiths on Termina."
Metal Man (GM): There are no blacksmiths, it appears to be a contemporary to futuristic society. There's some military surplus sales going on with the Trevor thugs too.
Digifanatic: "Termina does sound like a good place to start for that..."
Deloth nods and flips to the Termina pages.
Digifanatic: "The Carrington store probably sounds good for things like grenades and the like..."
Kenku: "And possibly a lower tech bike replacement."
Metal Man (GM): You flip and see no such thing, but rather the 'Dreamland Area' which includes, oddly, the observatory as a mask shop.
Deloth: "...Must be Mask Salesman's HQ."
Metal Man (GM): They sell mundane swords and foods/sweets of all kinds. Nothing too top notch, as it is hinted that the Dreamlanders place all their importance on food.
Deloth: "Nothing in here on swordsmiths."
Kenku: "Huh... I guess Termina's realm is pretty small..."
Metal Man (GM): It also says 'recently discovered--we have incomplete information.'
Digifanatic: "Mushroom Kingdom would be a lot of healing items, as Kenku and I can attest to, and Mobius just sounds like it'd have a lot of contemporary shops with oddball things we might want here and there."
Metal Man (GM): A small note also says 'We attempted to go to Koholint, but our agents were destroyed by antimatter beams.'
Digifanatic: "In fact, may I please have the book?"
Kenku: "Yea, Central City is probably a good place for a Helmet that would fit me."
Deloth: *Hands the book to Digi.*
Digifanatic flips through and looks for that Mushroom store that he and Kenku went to. "Thanks."
Deloth: "No prob. ...Also, I'm going to go crazy and try putting this mask on. Can you pull it off if it turns out that I can't?"
Digifanatic: "I can hope I can pull it off." *Gives the number a ring.*
Deloth: "I have faith in your success." *Slips the mask onto his face.*
Digifanatic: "Oh, and that reminds me. I wonder if the people who provided us those spellbooks are able to write duplicates for us to keep."
Metal Man (GM): The mask... which mask, the stone mask? Deloth feels much heavier. Nothing else different. Movement is slowed slightly.
Deloth blinks and looks at himself. "...Huh."
Metal Man (GM): The phone is picked up.
Cray Z.: "Yo maaaan... wazzup?"
Digifanatic: "Hello, I was a customer at your shop a small while back, and I'd like to present you with an opportunity for something."
Deloth: *Takes the mask off and tucks it back with the rest of his items.*
Digifanatic: "As a group of fighters like we are that often travel across several continents, it is often hard to pick up items we'd like to use without having to fly to various places. Do you have any friends that wouldn't mind setting up a private shop for us in our HQ?"
Cray Z.: "You were... wooow... I don't remember... musta been high on shrooms, maaaan!"
Digifanatic: .oO(I guess.)
Cray Z.: "A private shop, maaan? I don't have enough money to pay for another booth, maaaan."
Crazy Z.: "These shrooms are expensive stuff, maaaan. I can't ship them and let them perish unless I know there are customers..."
Deloth: "..."
Digifanatic: "Oh trust me, we get beat up all the time in combat. Those Mushes and Mushrooms really come in handy. And surely ones more powerful would if the time is necessary."
Deloth: .oO(Boy, he sure sounded irritated...)
Digifanatic: "We don't need any of those crazy Mushrooms, just the healing ones."
Cray Z.: "Ah, but I don't even know where you are, maaan! And I don't have money to fly over there. I tried to fly once and I totally woke up in a lake, duuude!"
Digifanatic: "Well, if you know anybody" .oO(Preferably one more conservative...) "who's good at business willing to help earn some coins here or there, you can tell them to come."
Cray Z.: "Right duuude... whoever you are... what were we talking about agaaain?"
Digifanatic: "Uh, just a business proposition. It's not important, just an idea I thought about... If you don't think it'll work, so be it. But we will still consider your shop if we go back to the Mushroom Kingdom in the future."
Cray Z.: "Right man, I'll send the geese right over, duuude." *Click.*
Digifanatic: *Hangs up. To the others:* "True. I wouldn't want one of those guys hanging around HQ 24/7..." *Looks up Dreamland.*
Deloth: "Especially not him. I could smell the weed over the phone line."
Kenku: "Ah well... in truth, we need fights before were going to get merchants. I wonder... pass me the book."
Digifanatic: "Heh..."
Metal Man (GM): You see the Dreamland shops, which are as I said earlier.
Digifanatic: "Alright." *Gives Kenku back the book Hold that.*
Kenku goes looking for "Fight clubs" or "Fight Shows" or other production companies.
Deloth continues wondering how to sell the Rock mask, idly putting it on again and trying some experimental moving in it.
Metal Man (GM): You see... "Glitzville" *- THE ULTIMATE FIGHTING ARENA.* Uh-oh. Competition... and you don't even have fighters. You also see 'The Dojo' in Toad Town.
Kenku notes the Dojo before pointing out "Glitzville" to the others.
Metal Man (GM): Continia doesn't have anything much of note. Trevor's hideout offers some courses in 'Street Fighting.' Dreamland has the Megaton Punch association.
Deloth looks over Digi's shoulder, noting the Dojo.
Digifanatic: "Julian could tell us how to street fight..."
Metal Man (GM): 'Dedicated to Smashing the Planet in Two'
Deloth: "...Hey, Digi, could you hand me the phone for a second?"
Digifanatic: "Sure." *Hot potato, phone to Deloth.*
Kenku: "Hmm... Anyone want to see if we could get something setup between the Dojo and Megaton?"
Deloth grabs the phone and dials up the Dojo.
Metal Man (GM): There's also the Kanto Fighting gym.
The Master: "Heloooooo? Who is it?"
Deloth: "This is Daniel Ti'Fiona of the Questers. Listen, I think I may have a teaching aid to sell you that I picked up a while back."
The Master: "D. Fihuaha? What do you have to sell?"
Digifanatic: *To Kenku* "Maybe... and hopefully a bit beyond that as well. Kanto may also be a good place if it truly isn't glitchy."
Deloth: "It's a mask that allows you to put more weight into things like drop kicks and attacks. It also increases your resistance to being knocked back or down."
The Master: "Iiiinteresting... bring it here and I will see if it is worth my purchase."
Deloth: "Alright. Thank you."
Kenku: "Don't hang up Yet Del."
Deloth: *Hangs up.*
Kenku: "Never mind..."
Deloth: "...Dang."
Kenku takes the phone and decides to call Megaton first.
Digifanatic: "What did you want, Kenku? Oh."
Kenku: "Ill call the Dojo back in a minute."
Deloth: "Sorry about that, Kenku."
Kenku: "Its no problem, I should have spoke up sooner."
Fist-Fighter: "YO WHUTZ UP!!!" *Man. That guy has some pipes!*
Deloth winces. Geez, he can hear that guy all the way from here.
Natalie: "Jeez! I can hear him all the way from over here!"
Dragoshi: *Blinks* .oO(Wow. I bet he's the life of the party.)
Fist-Fighter: "WHATCHU GONNA SAY, PHONE PERSON?!?!"
Metal Man (GM): Kenku stares into the air blankly.
Kenku winces slightly before responding "Hi, my name is William, and I work with the Questers... I had heard that you guys did punch demonstations and sparring, and was wondering if I could hire a couple of your fighters for a spar and demo at our arena, possibly against someone from another gym."
Fist-Fighter: "THERE'Z OTHER GYMS? WHAAAAA??? I'LL SEND MAH BOYZ OVER TO POUND THEM INTO DUSZZT!!!!"
Kenku: "Ah... so would you need transportation to the Arena?"
Fist-Fighter: "JUZT TELL ME WHEREZ. WE'LL GET THERE!"
Kenku says "Ok" and gives the guy address and directions to the Arena, before saying thanks for the service and hanging up. He then dials up the Dojo.
The Master: "Is this... D. Fihuaha again?"
Kenku "No, but I am a quester. My name is William, and I was wondering if I could be able to hire a couple of your students for a spar against Megaton?"
The Master: "Hire... no... I will have to see a review of your place first. I am old and cannot travel far. Patience will obtain my patronage... if you show yourselves to have viable technique."
Kenku: "I see... well, if you want, we can fly you over to the stadium to allow you to look around sometime."
The Master: "I shall see how your first event goes first. I cannot take the decision lightly."
Kenku nods. "I see. Well thank you for your time" and then hangs up and after thinking for a moment, calls trevors.
Deloth: "...Kenku, who are you calling now?"
Digifanatic writes down a note for Kenku while he's on the phone...
???: "Hello. Who're you?"
Digifanatic: *N* "What about Glitzville? They seem like a company with the folks who'd want to challenge someone else."
???: "I'm not interested in pleasantries... business is all that matters."
Kenku is about to answer Del when the phone is picked up "Hi, my name is William Swiftfoot, of the Questers Stadium. We are in the process of acquiring some time with the Megaton fighting club, and was wondering if I could hire a few people from you as their opponents."
???: "Questers? F$%^ you." *CLICK.*
Digifanatic: "Oh, great, now they sound like they're gonna crash the party."
Metal Man (GM): Trevor, aka Trevelyan, was actually killed by the Questers' effort.
Deloth: "..."
Metal Man (GM): The old name sticks for some reason.
Deloth: "I think I know now who you called."
Kenku: "Uhhh... that was... ooook..."
Digifanatic: "Just try Glitzville."
Kenku: "If you wanna Digi, I think we would have better luck with the Kanto gym, but go ahead."
Digifanatic goes for calling Glitzville.
???: "Oh... this is a strange number... whooo is this?"
Digifanatic: *Phone* "Hello, this is Quester Ian Hoffman, calling from the Mobius island. We've been planning on using the stadium in our HQ to host an exhibition fight between a bunch of fighters, and we saw your number in the phonebook. Would you be interested in sending a number over to represent your group?"
Raena: "...I wonder what the rules are for actually participating. Those arena fights sound like a great way to get some practice."
Kenku: "Its our arena, so it would be our rules... you interested?"
Raena: "I am. If Natalie would be alright with it."
Natalie: "Totally, it sounds like fun."
Macho Grubba: "Ah, I'm Macho Grubba. You got some small Stadium, dontcha? I've heard of it, but you seem sadly unable to use it for much. Gotta warn you. People who compete with me too much... never outlast da Pit. Even after that weird event which sent us all the way over here."
Digifanatic: "Ah, you've got the kind of personality that would fit well for our debut."
Macho Grubba: "I'll tell ya what. I'll send some of my... guys over to see whatcher doin'. Might send an undercard to see what you can do. Our guys are tough though... they probably fight under harder rules than youse have."
Digifanatic: "Perfect. We've been able to come across another group from another continent that seem more than willing to fight. Hopefully you'll be evenly matched..."
Macho Grubba: "You'll see then, lil' man. 'Dat it? I'm busy."
Digifanatic: "Yes, I would believe so, Mr. Grubba."
Kenku looks to Digi. "So we got an opponent?"
Macho Grubba: "'Kay, have fun then." *Click.*
Digifanatic: *Hangs up* "I believe so. Glitzville versus Megaton... And if you want to make it really interesting, we could send in some of our own..."
Kenku: "Ok, one more call before we get back to shopping."
Digifanatic: "Sure. You may take the phone." *To N&R* "Wonder if Meta Knight's still with us..."
Kenku takes the phone and calls up the 'local boys.'
Metal Man (GM): His ship's left for now. Local boys?
Thug: "Ehhh. What's up, Doc?"
Deloth: "So, Digi, think I'll be able to sell this mask?"
Kenku: "Hey... This is William of the Questers, could you get me connected with management?"
Thug: "I am management, Mr. Quester person."
Metal Man (GM): Today, in Super Telephone Qu--*shot.*
Kenku: "Oh... sorry... I just wanted to tell you that we are in the planning stages of getting a spar setup between the Megaton and Glitzville fighting gyms at the arena, and was wondering if you could get some publicity for it setup on the island."
Dragoshi: *Is just making note of the stuff 'zat's happening, so... yeah.* :x
Thug: "Tough luck, bud. We don't have many people left, n' we're da LAST people you want doing publicity to the squares next door. You want publicity, call up Al. He's in da phone book."
Natalie: "So, once we're done setting up all of this, how about we explore Clock Town? Wait... that's where the smith was... crap... uhhh..."
Kenku: "Ok, thanks for the help. Bye" *he says and hangs up.*
Deloth: "So, pitstop to the Dojo now?"
Thug: "Cy--" *Click.*
Kenku then check the phone book for Al's. "One more phonecall."
Metal Man (GM): 'Al's Everything Megastore!' 'Now in Capital City Due to Complete Annihilation of Westopolis!' 'Yes, your old club card still works!' It has a phone number and everything.
Kenku dials up Al's.
Al: "Y'ello."
Digifanatic: .oO(Uh oh... he's calling up someone else who hates us.) *Gives Deloth the 'shhhh' gesture Leaning in, aside to Deloth* "Unless you want to wrestle the phone from Kenku and hanging up before the conversation picks up, I'm not sure calling Al is a wise move..."
Metal Man (GM): This is totally going to be the most awesome stadium thing ever.
Kenku: "Hi, my name is William Swiftfoot, and I represent the Quester Stadium thats situated on the Island. We are in the process of creating a fighting event between two gyms at the arena, and was wondering if I could get some publicity for it."
Deloth leans over and hits the "hang up" button.
Al: "What... so you're those guys who took over my territory--" *Click.*
Kenku: "HEY!"
Digifanatic: "I knew it... Yeah, we had a bad tiff with him before you found us."
Metal Man (GM): You also see a phone number for GUN's military branch.
Kenku: "You know... you could of said that before I hung up on him..."
Metal Man (GM): Hmmmm....
Digifanatic: "Well, he didn't recognize you, just your title."
Kenku: "Ah well... either way... we need to have someone do publicity for us. I don't think we will have the time"
Digifanatic: "Okay, let's just take things easy for now. Who else puts on a good show? The Mushroom Kingdom..."
Deloth: "Kenku, Al hates our guts."
Kenku: "As I said... please say something before I call."
Digifanatic: "Karts, golf, tennis, baseball... they've done it all."
Metal Man (GM): You could call up Peach's Castle.
Deloth: "You didn't give us a chance."
Digifanatic looks up the number for Peach's Castle.
Kenku: "Well... that is an idea... although they aren't connected with the main island."
Metal Man (GM): Sitting right there in the white pages.
Digifanatic: "Yes, but we can bring them over here just like we shall with the Dojo. And it's all the same island." *Calls.*
Kenku: "We need someone on the isle if were going to get the biggest crowds... and I apologize I'll be slower."
Peach: "Hello?"'
Kenku: "I mean, someone who has connections with the island Dig."
Digifanatic: "Ah... hang on. Hello, Princess. This is Ian Hoffman of the Questers. After you giving us the opportunity to come to the Mushroom Kingdom with the Karting event, we were wondering if you could help us promote an event we plan on putting on."
Peach: "Hmmm... well, I could tell the Mario brothers."
Digifanatic: "It's an exhibition fight at our Stadium, which is supposed to be Glitzville versus Megaton of the Dreamland region."
Peach: "Glitzville... really?"
Digifanatic: "Yes."
Peach: "I would watch out... Mario's encountered Macho Grubba before... he's not... a very nice person. Uh... Mario will come then."
Digifanatic: "Ah... yeah, he had an eager persona, we'll put it that way, Her Majesty."
Peach: "Anything else?"
Deloth: *Muttering* "In other words, he had enough grease dripping off of him to lube a car..."
Digifanatic: "Let my friends and I think about it for a few seconds, hang on." *Turns to the group* "Are we all good? Sending the Mario Brothers all we need?"
Deloth: "Sounds good. Don't forget, I need to make a pit stop to the Dojo today to try and hock that mask, too."
Kenku: "I told you... we need to talk to someone on the island itself... Im looking for someone who can bring in crowds, else this fight will be a bust!"
Digifanatic: "Right." *Back on the phone* "I believe our business is complete, Princess. Have a nice day." *Gives Kenku a 'hang on' index finger.*
Peach: "Okay. See you" *Hangs up.*
Digifanatic: *Hangs up* "Alright, maybe we can find someone else on Mobius, hang on..." *Looks up other numbers on Mobius.*
Metal Man (GM): You see the GUN phone number. It lists the head commander... Marley?
Digifanatic: "Okay, consensus first... is GUN a wise number to call? Apparently, Marley's got a good spot now, and we can trust me, but can they put on a show?"
Kenku: "Probably is, but I dunno if they could do what Im looking for."
Digifanatic: "Ah..."
Kenku: "Er what were looking for..."
Digifanatic: "Wait a minute... if Sonic's got a number, you think he'd be willing to bring in people? He's a popular guy."
Deloth: "I doubt they'd be interesting in drumming up anything for us. I say we skip 'em."
Kenku: "It's not more fighters. We have that. We need someone who can canvas the island and get crowd interest. That's an idea actually."
Metal Man (GM): Tails' workshop is on the phone list.
Digifanatic: "And he can obviously spread news very quickly. Hmm, no Sonic, but Tails. Should be just as fine, right?"
Deloth: "Yeah, let's give him a quick call. Can't hurt."
Aribar goes around the stadium casting Panel on random broken objects, watering plants with Ele, straightening things up with Kinesis, and throwing the way the garbage using Plane. He also goes to find the R&R's lost remote with Sensory. Ah, the things one will do when the world isn't being taken over by evil.
Metal Man (GM): Ironically, thanks to Aribar, you never need to hire anyone to maintain the Stadium again. He can just do it with some magical spells.
Digifanatic: "Alright." *Rings up Tails.*
Metal Man (GM): Assuming nothing too large has exploded, of course.
Tails: "Hello..."
Digifanatic: "Hi, Tails, this is Ian. Have you seen Sonic recently?"
Tails: "Uhhhh... yeah... for a few moments... he's finished with Angel Island and is investigating something to do with Dr. Eggman..."
Digifanatic: "Ohh... but I suppose there's no way I can quickly contact him, huh?"
Tails: "He comes around here from time to time. What do you want? I thought you were with Eggman."
Digifanatic: "Actually, that was more a temporary thing."
Tails: "I see. So... what do you need?"
Digifanatic: "Well, the reason I wanted to talk to Sonic was that we're planning on hosting an exhibiton fight at the Stadium in our new headquarters. I figure with Sonic's popularity with Mobians and his gift of speed, we could use him to promote the show."
Tails: "Oh. He'll probably be there if you want... when is it?"
Digifanatic: "We haven't decided on a time yet, but hopefully within the next few days. Knowing Sonic's ability, that'll be plenty of time for him to talk to some people and help draw a crowd for us."
Tails: "Hm... maybe... who else is there?"
Digifanatic: "A couple of folks from fighting promotions on other continents. We've got Glitzville of the Mushroom Kingdom and Megaton from Dreamland. In fact, you're pretty good with technology. You could probably make some posters and such and tack em around the island."
Tails: "Uhhh... yeah. I'm not really an advertiser."
Digifanatic: "Oh..."
Tails: "You should call the Central City Advertising Bureau. They cost a bit though..."
Digifanatic: "Well, thanks for the tip."
Deloth: *Nudges Digi* "We should probably keep the crowd a bit small, just in case things go wrong."
Digifanatic: *Nods* "How many?" *He isn't even sure what the current capacity is...* "But yeah, if you can find Sonic, I'm sure he can send the word out well. We'll consider Central City. Thanks a lot."
Tails: "Anyway, as long as you aren't making deals with the Eggman, I'll see how I can help you. Bye!" *Click.*
Digifanatic: *Hang on Waits for Deloth before calling the CC Bureau.*
Deloth shrugs. "No idea, either. Geez, this is pathetic, planning for a fight and not even knowing our seating capacity."
Digifanatic: "Hmm... hang on, maybe the blueprints are around here."
Kenku: "I doubt its small, and engie probably knows exact numbers. Just see about getting a small order, and we should be fine."
Digifanatic: "Okay. Engineer..." *Calls him.*
Aribar exits the Stadium, tired of his house cleaning. He goes to the nearest casino or other thug-filled building.
Engineer: "Yeop, what's hopping?"
Metal Man (GM): Aribar would see the Thugs building the casino and walk right to it.
Digifanatic: "When BLU built the HQ, how many seats did you build to accommodate the Stadium? Like, what would be a capacity crowd?"
Engineer: "Two-hundred I believe."
Aribar: "Greetings... Neighbors. I am curious: is there any sort of underground or black market salesman amongst your ranks?"
Thug: "Black market? Well, Al was our main man, but we have another guy who operates here. He's been useful in black market slot machines. What you need?"
Aribar: "I was wondering if your people had access to tombs of magic. Spell books, to be more precise."
Digifanatic: "Okay, then... hang on a few moments, Engineer..."
Engineer: "I'm hangin' on."
Thug: "Tombs? Yeah. Magic? Yeah. It'll cost yeh. How much money you have?"
Digifanatic: *To Kenku* "How many more seats you think would work? Again, I'm concerned someone will go berserk and all, but surely 200 is too small..."
Aribar: "I've about thirty five coins."
Thug: "Come back with a hundred, unless you want something real mundane. We can get anything, but it's not cheap. Have to dodge guards and... er... other things that are a part of our trade."
Kenku: "200? Yesh... I guess we need to upgrade. In the end we could look for making a capacity crowd, but publicity isn't about numbers really. I guess for the moment we start small, and then get engie or someone to upgrade to like 1000 as a start."
Aribar: "Hm... I see. I won't have that kind of money for a while, unfortunately. Still, thank you for talking to me about it. One day I may take you up on that offer."
Digifanatic: "Alright, so keep it where it is right now just to spread the news and take it from there?"
Thug: "Tell your friends if they need anything we're good for that too. Maybe our prices will get cheaper when our casino finishes and you get some business here."
Kenku: "Unless you think Engie can upgrade before fight time."
Thug: "Right now we're considered nowhere on the map. Think trying to get things to a very out of the way, unconnected place. Not terribly easy."
Digifanatic: "Well, it'd probably be better to do it all at once before the fight or wait until after it's over. Sounds like a more formal situation than just nagging BLU all the time..."
Engineer: "Doo dooo dooo... hmmm hmmm..."
Digifanatic: *To the phone* "Just waiting on one response."
Kenku: "Then probably best after then, since we should probably get it to arena capacity at some point."
Deloth: "I say we wait, yeah."
Digifanatic: *Flashes an okay sign to the other two* "Alright, thanks, Engineer."
